Overpriced with questionable customer service. The lobster mac and cheese (no longer on the menu) was swimming in a watery liquid, it looked and tasted more like pasta in a cheese flavored broth. The server asked how everything was, and we said the mac and cheese was not what we had expected. The cook later came out to confront us and we politely told him we didn't expect it to be so watery. He got defensive and said he doesn't use water. I said we weren't questioning the ingredients, and he kept asking if we still thought he used water. It felt very aggressive and confrontational, our table was stunned We saw our server mention it to the manager, who ultimately did nothing to address it. Spent over $100 on apps.

We came here for the bottomless mimosas and this place did not disappoint! The mimosa bar allows you to customize your own drinks — you can pour as much champagne as you want then add orange, guava, or pomegranate juices and garnish with fruit. The food here is great too; I ordered the corn beef hash.

I've been twice now for the bottomless mimosas bar on Sundays. I really like that they have a selection of juices and garnishes, not just orange juice (although they obviously have that too). The honey brioche thing was outrageously good. I think I had a dream about it that night. It was... a carnal experience. A sweet and bready expression of all that is true and beautiful in this world. Both the butcher's steak and the chicken & waffles are also really tasty, but get the brioche for the table no matter what else you order... otherwise the darkness wins.

I live down the street so I’ve been to the Madison many times. They recently changed their buratta and it’s terrible. It’s much lower quality for the same expensive price and they no longer offer prosciutto. Most of their menu items are overpriced. The hostess’s just chat with each other and can be rude to guests. The decor is great and the servers are very nice. The bartenders can be a bit awkward and rude at times. Unfortunately now that the burrata sucks I probably won’t be returning.

I am so excited that this place is next door to my workplace. I truly cannot find one thing on the menu that doesn't taste truly delicious. I would highlight some of the menu items, but literally everything I've eaten here has been so good that I would be literally just listing the things on the entire menu. I always go with the salmon. It is perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The drinks are also very good here as well!

OMG we stopped in here by mistake. Mad Boiler was closed for renovations. The Braised Beef Short Ribs was MAGNIFICENT WE had 2 servings of mash potatoes. The atmosphere was upbeat. Karmie our server was GREAT.

I went here for restaurant week in 2019. The dishes were good, but nothing that absolutely knocked my socks off. Normal prices seemed a little high for places that I normally frequent. They have a pretty extensive cocktail menu with some interesting combinations that would most likely be the only thing to draw me back.

We had a fantastic meal here. They have a great selection of cocktails to start off with that would satisfy even the pickiest of drinkers. We shared the Hamachi Crudo, which was unreal, the fish was super fresh and the flavors worked very well together. My wife had the Salmon, and I had the Bronzino, which were both exceptional. I would absolutely come back next time I am in town.

My boyfriend and I are in Chicago on vacation and planned on going here all week and we were overwhelmed with how amazing this place really is. Not only were we blessed with Melissa, our amazing server, but the food was to die for. We both ordered steak frites and I swear I could eat it every day. Great attentiveness by our waitress and then on top of it she told us we were sweet and brought us dessert on the house. Then while we were stuck outside because our Uber messed up, she came outside to tell us to at least wait inside since it was cold, and made many recommendations about the city since we were visiting. Wish I could rate more than 5 stars, it’s a new tradition everytime we visit Chicago from now on for sure.

Very disappointed!!! I ordered the burger with charred onion and special sauce and salad. They didn’t have the dressing I asked for so I got the house dressing. I wanted to add bacon to my burger but didn’t even have a chance to ask before she walked away. I was instantly mad. It took about 20 min to get a drink and that was the only drink we got. When the food came I didn’t have anything On my burger ( where’s the special saucer charred onions? I asked she said sure I’ll get it.) 5 min later she shows up with ketchup for the other two at my table but no onions or special sauce for me and sure I wanted ketchup too. s Let’s face it my burger is cold now anyway. My salad had no dressing and I couldn’t get her to stop for a second to ask for a drink, ketchup, dressing for my salad or the sauce/ onions she forgot again. I won’t be back because I like a few drinks with my meal and condiments on my burger and dressing on my salads. $240 for three burgers and drinks wouldn’t have been a problem if I would have received what I ordered. Won’t be back.

If you are a grown man, do not attempt to eat here. I ordered a med-rare steak after a long day at work. I was severely disappointed when it arrived, and the chef had already cut the steak into little, dry pieces of meat. I am a grown man, and have the ability to cut my own steak. I also ordered some oysters as an appetizer. And it showed up 5 minutes after my steak. The chef also has this great idea to spice the lime with something orange that the staff cannot identify. The lime and orange mess was all over each raw oyster. I couldn't even eat my oysters at all. They were nice enough not to charge me for the oysters, but I still had to gnaw on a dry steak. I won’t come back here, and if you value a juicy steak you shouldn't either. There are way too many places in the area that will treat you like an adult, and give you a whole piece of meat, and a knife to cut into it.

Cocktails are great... food is below average at inflated prices. Avoid the steak frites (cold, dry and pre-cut). They've altered, arguably, the best steak tartare in the area into an incomprehensible mess.

Came here with a small group before a Blackhawks game. We had a variety of food and everything was excellent. Service was very good and the atmosphere was clean and comfortable, just a bit loud however not so much that we could not have table conversation. Highly recommend.

Sushi was dry and not flavorful. I am not sure why did they add sushi to their menu when it is more like a general American restaurant.

Always good service and great food. The menu has a large selection, but everything i have tried here is great. The steak and fries is one of my favorites and it comes with awesome sauces. The fontina burger is another great item. I have also enjoyed each sushi off the menu. The drink menu is also extensive. I go with the old fashion most times. Additionally, I always can reserve a table around a week in advance which is perfect for those times friends or family make a trip to visit.

The Madison was everything that I hoped it would be. The room is absolutely beautiful. The cocktails were perfect. The food was even better. We had appetizers, oysters, sushi rolls, prime rib, fried chicken and not one of them disappointed and there is something for everyone. Did I mention the prices were great? It is not a sports bar, it is a great place with great food that has sports on in the background (including sets that disappear up into the ceiling. The service was amazing and you don't see many owners busing tables and taking food out to the tables. Every single person was so attentive it was amazing. I can't wait to go back and try about 100 other things I wanted to order. So take the kids (best kids menu ever), go for happy hour, before or after Hawks or Bulls game, but my favorite is just to have an amazing time any day of the week. Thanks The Madison

Ok, maybe we just got the raw end of the stick on our visit, but I don't really have anything nice to say. Lunch took 40 minutes to be served. One person added chicken to their salad, but it didn't come with it when it was served. We had to remind them and it came out cold. Another had the steak and eggs and they both were cold to the touch. The chicken and waffles were 60 minutes. After bringing it to their attention, they comp'ed us our drinks ( we had one drink and some orange juices) the chicken and birthday desserts. Not enough in my mind. Poor kitchen and poor service. They weren't even that busy. One bus boy didn't even understand "no" when we said we weren't done eating.

Another brunch at Madison... Different entrees that did not disappoint. Sausage sandwich with duck fat fries and an amazing plate of biscuits and gravy with a unique peanut butter curry... Wow! Working our way through the the menu and have not found a "miss" yet! Absolutely great service (again) from Karime at bar, too!!

Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. Randolph street continued to be where foodies flock, Madison is no exception. Saturday $5 drinks make it even better. Place was slammed but we got in right away with Open Table. Got a $5 Moscow Mule, Cheese curds and the Gouda Jalapeno burger which had just the right amount of heat. Great service cool atmosphere and a good place to check out.

Cool bar and restaurant serving a mix of modern American fare and sushi. The sushi was great as was the steak salad. Good cocktail menu and happy hour offers worth trying. Loved their rye old fashioned. Worth looking at, similar feel to the places on West Randolph, but a block or two away so I think you benefit from slightly better value as a result.

This is my 2nd time here. Their foods are still the best around here. Always have the good services here every time when i come here. The SUSHI !!! is the best thing to have when you come here, especially the "Madison Rainbow roll". They put a pinch of strawberries on top of each piece that makes it smell soooo good like i was walking in the strawberry garden. The cocktails are delicious! make my world blows up ! and right now they open the patio up mmmmm.... can you imagine how good it is to feel the summer breeze while enjoying your best foods? Finally LOVE them all here and will always come back here!!

I was in Chicago for business and decided on Madison since it was near my hotel and the menu looked good. I sat at the bar, which was busy. I got the Crispy Rock Shrimp and the Steak Frites. Food was good, although the shrimp could have been a little crispier. The service was a little slow, but they were friendly, even giving me the neighborhood discount, which was nice. And there was live music, which was pretty decent.

Easily one of the best meals I've had! I ordered the lobster roll and it came out at the perfect temperature and the meat was tender and buttery. Our table shared a basket of the fried cheese curds which were fantastic. Highly recommend coming here for dinner for all occasions! Definitely not the cheapest eat in town but the quality and quantity of food you receive reflects well on the price. We will be back!

I had my 30th birthday here, and I would highly recommend this place for any event. The woman I spoke with on the phone to make my reservation was extremely helpful and accommodating, and the hostesses, wait staff, and bartenders were all wonderful. I had reserved a large table but a few people got sick and couldn't come, but they said it was no problem, and even after I offered to let them use some of the space for other customers if they needed it, they said not to worry about it. Our waiter was kind and excellent, and the food and drinks were perfect. It was my first time here but I would definitely go back. Thank you for making our night such a great experience!

Was a bit apprehensive when I looked at the menu. You don't often find a restaurant that has such a diverse offering, sushi, burgers, and an assortment of entrees. We started off with the spicy tuna and godzilla rolls and they were great! Our table of 4 shared an order of the King Crab mac & cheese and the tempura brussels sprouts. The Mac was very rich and topped with some beautiful fresh crab legs. The tempura brussels sprouts were light, and didn't even need the dipping sauce. On the waitress' recommendation we did the Butcher's steak frites and Alaskan Halibut. Both were very delicious. Husband wants to go back to try the Wagyu burgers!
