Some of the best sweet breakfast in Chicago! The time to get our food was quite long, but it was worth the wait. The lemon huckleberry pancakes were extraordinary, and the best thing we ate there. The white chocolate and caramel pretzel and blueberry almond were not as good, but still very good. The breakfast burrito tasted pretty good. The staff was very nice, and when we asked for the air conditioning to be turned off, they did it for us. Would recommend for occasions. 5/5

Jibin Eapen

Got the breakfast burrito with chicken and jalapenos. It was delicious. I also tried the lemon raspberry pancakes and it was Soo good. Waiter was friendly and attentive.

Vivian Snipes

Don't let the unassuming entryway steer you off this beautifully appointed, much larger on the inside than it appears on the outside, breakfast and lunch spot. Two and a half rooms inside and a lovely patio out the back door. Food offerings are very varied and our meals were delicious. Breakfast is available all the time, lunch food begins at 11 a.m. Everyone was convivial and joyful ensuring a lovely experience. As a tea drinker I appreciate that they understand the variety of ways to serve tea and have a wide selection of types of tea . Rest assured coffee drinkers they also have your favorite drink. Menu is broken down by Savory or sweet for breakfast with 8 to 12 Options under each category.

always a delicious meal to be had.. consistent delicious food and service... a mainstay in the brunch world

Salma kerfal

The Breakfast Burrito, Red Velvet Pancakes and Build-Your-Own-Omelette was great! I'd come back for the pancakes alone; overall very pleasant experience. The wait staff were fast, informative and friendly. Even waiting for a table didn't seem like a chore. It was convenient to be able to walk around the neighborhood without waiting for our table to be called. We simply got a text on our phones when our table was ready. If you decided to come here make sure to ask to be seated outside. We didn't realize how nice their patio area was until after we were leaving.

Shireen Jamil

Good food! Fast and courteous service staff...best has it's own parking!! Sweet!

Kristi-Lynn Jacovino

Love this place for brunch, sit outside if it's nice! You can also order any of their pancakes as just a single pancake, so it's a great way to share with the table if everyone wants to try a couple different ones.

Tanios Issa

Delicious options, fast service and descent wait time. I’m not a big fan of brunch but this place might change everything. I had BLT Benedict and the poached eggs were just cooked perfectly, side potatoes were balanced in flavor, they’re cooked with rosary but it’s not overpowered. They also have good options of drinks and cocktails. Would definitely go back to try more of their specials.

Alex Lim

Cute and clean breakfast joint. The breakfast burrito is solid choice. Service is great and super clean bathrooms.

Sara McDale

Everything we ate was AMAZING. High recommend. Even their potato salad was incredible.

Joel Cayton

This is my absolute favorite place to brunch in Chicago. The whole menu is amazing! Pancakes and French Toast options are so tasty!! Eggs Benedict tastes great. Bacon crispy and cooked thoroughly. Weekends are definitely busy and since there are no reservations your best bet is to get here as early as possible to beat that Brunch crowd. I believe the bar area is first come first serve, which is perfect for a great meal with no wait. This place is definitely a must for visitors as well as locals. Also, the place is pretty tiny so large parties may have a tough time getting in.

Milana M

Always Great service and bustling brunch with tasty samplings.

Ada Calderwood

Amazing brunch.

Jerry Hall

YUMMY! Hats off to the owners of this Gem! I enjoyed my brunch and I will return with friends and family

Amy Johnson

I stop here every time I'm in town! Wonderful staff and great food!

Daniel Boback

Great atmosphere and better food! I got the eggs Benedict and my girlfriend got the raspberry lemon pancakes. Both were out of the world! 5 stars, 10 out of 10!!!

Sara Heath

Wonderful place! Order anything on the menu and you'll be happy. Pancakes are amazing.

Kumar Sivan

Went to this place for Brunch around 12:30 on Sunday. The place was packed and we were fortunate to get a spot without having to wait. Perhaps it was because it was a snowy day and people decided to stay home. I got the Breakfast Burrito filled with Eggs and Guacamole and some Salsa on the side. This was completely mediocre and nothing to write home about. My wife got the Lobster Benedict and the Chocolate Brioche. The Brioche came with a Banana topping and a Custard like sauce. This was exceptional and a half order of it was more than the 2 of us could handle. My wife also ordered a Grapefruit based cocktail. This was a complete disappointment. $11.00 for mostly sugar and ice. A total rip-off. She did seem to enjoy her Lobster Benedict. We both got simple Coffees to drink. Overall, for a modest breakfast we ended up paying $70! This I believe is ridiculously pricey. Be sure and stop by the bank before you go to The Bongo Room. I am not sure what the big rush to this place is.

Denis Ryan

Excellent food, great service.

Renita Hudson

The food is always delicious, the service and staff are awesome as well!

John Nash

Had a delicious steak burrito. Excellent service. Would highly recommend.

David Perel

Great brunch. Did was delicious. Cranberry cinnamon pancakes were a bit heavy but tasty. I like a light fluffy pancake so I can eat more. Eggs Benedict was great and Bloody Mary was nice and spicy. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is casual bright and bustling but not loud. 2 thumbs up. Looking forward to going back.

Adam Shanley

Great place for breakfast and brunch. I highly recommend any of the pancakes. The space is laid out well, and I love the décor. Nice outdoor seating area that feels like there should be a pool out there. It's secluded, and kind of feels resort-like. Great place. Highly recommended.

Lilia Cardenas

Friendly service, cozy atmosphere and really good-quality breakfast

Maksimilian Dikarev

The photos don't do this place justice. Excellent food! Lots of delicious options. Much cozier inside than expected. I would highly recommend it!

Patricia O'Donnell

Great breakfast. Loved the Classic Benedict!

Lisa B.

My banana caramel pecanpancakes were tough to chew which tells me they were over mixed. Service was nice. I might go again. Not for the pancakes. But something else.

Ariel Brassil

Super friendly staff and delicious food! We got lucky and got seats at the counter right away. I enjoyed the veggie croissant and my friend got an omelette. I loved the upbeat music they had playing and clean, bright ambiance. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Chicago!

edimation

Always awesomely amazing!

Henry Potamakis

If you’re looking for delectable morning and lunch time grub, this is the place to be. They have a nice selection between sweet and savory items for brunch, and the execution is spot on. Also the patio in the rear makes it even more of an enjoyable place to dine in the summer.

Derek Lo

One of my favorite places to go. Just watch out for the wait times on weekends especially.

Randy Wagner

Super-duper breakfasts. Just remember they're only open til 2pm (I keep thinking it's 3). But they will seat you til 2. Seemed like the "sweet" choices were fewer than last visit (awhile back!). But "savories" list seemed longer, so something for everyone. Just be aware, the kitchen douses everything sweet in their 'cream' toppings, so if you're a purist like me, get that OTS. The big surprise here is that their coffee is DELICIOUS! Enjoy!!

Samuel Tan

Your single order will be sufficient to feed you for both breakfast and lunch! The portions at this place are pretty awesome, they really don't skimp out on quantity. My wife had the french toast and I had some pancakes. We should have just ordered one to share but we didn't know and thankfully, we ordered both so that we could continue to enjoy the great food at home. The french toast was amazing. Thick pieces of toast, yet very light and fluffy, almost cake like. The sauce and frosting were sweet but not overpoweringly so, just the right balance. If we had bigger stomachs, we would have polished it off there and then. It was delicious. My pancakes were huge, keeping in line with their policy of overwhelming us with food, but to be honest, they were a little dry. The homemade flavored butter was fantastic and the main star of the plate. That almost made up for the pancake itself. If you're planning to go, do go early because we had to wait about 30-45 minutes outside, when it was rather cold and windy, just to get a table. I don't think they do reservations so your best bet is to rise and shine early on the day you plan to go. It'll be worth it.

O'Brien Stennis

The dishes were plentiful! My girlfriend and I shared and we still had left overs. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful. But the most impressive was the attentiveness and efficiency the entire staff had! The moved together as one! It was impressive to see and to experience. Definitely going again!

Vincent Mazzocco

One of the best brunch spots in town. Great food and drinks. Cozy outdoor space. Friendly staff and fast service.

Raul Buys

Good place with great service. My wife and I came here for brunch and the food was really good. We shared the chorizo avocado omelet which was very good. And the French toast was pretty good as well. The outdoor patio looked really nice but unfortunately we didn't sit outside, next time!

Eddie Gomez

very good brunch place!!

Emily Kupec Wallner

Nice atmosphere and cozy seating with an outdoor patio. Get here early to get a seat quickly. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five was that my food was cold. Dine-in lattes are deceivingly expensive ($6???)

Sandra Navas

Yummy dishes but wow what a wait to be sorted, very popular.

Onkar Pannu

Great spot with some fresh, well presented, decadent food. Very easy casual atmosphere where you can kick back and feast. Good portions. Great staff. Better service.

Ronan Goforth

The huckleberry and meyer lemon hotcakes are probably the best pancakes I've ever eaten, no exaggeration. Try a mimosa at brunch- with multiple different combinations there's something for everyone. Even during the weekday lunch rush we were seated immediately and once we placed our order, our food arrived in less than 15 minutes. A delight, if a little pricey for regular visits.

Alexandra Goldina

Excellent and delicious food. Savory and sweet options, vegetarian options. Not good for vegan options. Vegetarian croissant sandwich was incredible and loaded with veggies. There is usually a wait but they use an electronic system which shows you your place in line, and you get a text when they're ready for you, I thought that was excellent!

Richard

I love this place Ive eaten here dozens of times and always had a great meal. The oreo pancakes are awesome

Claire Schauble

Best breakfast/brunch in all of Chicago. I went there once with my boyfriend and we've come back almost every weekend (not exaggerating). Servers, hosts, and decor are all excellent but the bus boys are the real MVP.

Matthew C. Cataldi

This place is just amazing. Terrific food, period. One of the best brunch places in the city no doubt. There is usually a longer wait on the weekends, especially on Sunday where you might have to wait over an hour for brunch, but if you come on a weekday, it's a shoe in and the same great food.

Bartosz Surowka

Great little place, was there for lunch and they were really busy. Had their Cesar salad which came with a bed of pasta hidden underneath, a nice touch. Cozy place with great food.

Ian Marlenee

It was ok; food was good and priced acceptably. Restaurant was a bit loud, at least in the back room and our waiter was helpful, though a bit short at times. Thanks you!

Laura Sudz

This place is awesome. A menu so mouthwatering your biggest problem will be deciding what you're going to eat. The latest technology so that once you're on the waiting list you get a text message when they're ready to call you. This allows you to walk around the cute little neighborhood and check out the shops rather than stand and wait. The food and the cocktails were incredible. Best breakfast I had while in Chicago. Be sure to check out the Woolly Mammoth Oddity shop just a couple blocks down.

Ethan Kim

Awesome place! Strongly recommand.

Evelyn Keolian

Wonderful food whether for breakfast, lunch or brunch.

melinda rodriguez

Pancakes are incredibly delicious actually everything on the menu is!

Tina Figueroa

I love this place for its delicious brunch food! I normally get a sweet brunch like the chocolate tower French toast (highly recommend) but most recently I decided to get the lobster eggs Benedict and WOW that was the best eggs Benedict I’ve had. The only reason I dropped a star is because 1) it’s very expensive to eat here 2) no reservations so you will absolutely have to wait 30-40 min. But I’ve been here more than once so I guess I’m hooked lol

Nina Gorges

If you get a chance to sit and enjoy your breakfast, you've got to try their patio. It is simply beautiful and so relaxing. Now the food is amazing here. I've tried the chocolate French toast that is out of this world. The Benedict's are a fav as well. Can't go wrong with the omelettes or sandwiches.

Heather Evans

I always end up getting some calorie-laden gorgeous monstrosity of a breakfast and never feel guilty about it. The food is so yummy. The mimosas are worth it to

David Shih

Love this place for brunch. The food is always delicious and hearty and the patio in back is a nice bonus in the summer. It's your standard breakfast fare but expertly done to perfection. That said, this place is always packed because it's just that good. So be prepared for a wait. That's just the deal with this place. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

cynthia mariscal

Amazing coffee! I had heard great things about this place, and now understand why. The wait was pretty long (45-1 hour). There isn't a "waiting" place, so you either go to your car, walk around, or stand outside. They will ask for your phone number and text you. Apparently their menu changes each season, but they do keep their main dishes. Overall, loved it. A good place for brunch. Parking is right next to the restaurant.

Meg Tidei

We love this place! Bongo Room has been a fave of ours for years and this location is especially nice with the free parking and cozy back patio!

Brendan Snyder

Excellent brunch spot with reasonable waits, delicious and creative menu, fantastic cocktail list.

Vincent Savage Jr

My favorite brunch spot in the city. Amazing staff, great space and even better food. The back patio in the summer is fantastic.

Cody Jones

Great service and great food. The Meyer lemon pancakes are delicious. Make sure you try the potatoes!!

MariaFernanda Cruz

I used to come here all the time. I brought everyone friends and family because I love the food and most of the staff. But the service that I got today was out of line and rude If you don’t like your job please don’t be a hostess it leaves a bad taste for people that actually enjoy the food. I will not be back.

Alex Shapardanis

Really really delicious, but needs more vegan options.

Brendan C

The Praline and Banana pancakes were silky, sweet, and nutty. Very tasty. Good drink selection for a nice cocktail or eye opener. Staff is top notch. Decor is very sleak and relaxing.

Brian King

Always delicious! During the weekends there's sometimes a somewhat long wait (30-40 minutes), however, it's generally less than their estimates. They also can send you a text message when your table is ready so you can explore Andersonville a bit while you're waiting instead of waiting inside. I've only ever eaten here during the weekends despite it being around the corner from my apartment so I can't speak to the waits during weekdays, regardless of waiting it's always great food and well worth the wait. The classic eggs benedict is always delicious with perfectly poached eggs and tasty hollandaise. The pear churro french toast is also delicious and just the right amount of sweet without being over the top.

Sarah Zerod

There was a short wait before we were seated, but only around 15 minutes for a Saturday brunch. Definitely worth the wait, the French toast was fluffy and they were diligent with keeping our coffee filled. Our waitress was wonderful and friendly.

Tom Lynch

All around great weekend breakfast place. Get there early to avoid lines. Popular spot!

Stewart G

Food was ok, but I' ve definitely had better for breakfast.

Kate Gronstal

A fantastic place for brunch or lunch! Family friendly and so many fun pancake and french toast specials. I take every Chicago visitor here.

Joel Brown

I love this place. Please feed me forever.

Trevor Reynolds

Really solid neighborhood spot in andersonville...perfect service at the bar, and the mimosas are strong ...I'm not sure what else anyone needs to know

Michael Halberstam

Always excellent!

Ewan Dickson

The food never disappoints, not a cheap breakfast though!

Kivanc Kose

Very delicious breakfast choices. Our host living in the area mentioned their brunch is also very good, but typically the lines are long during the weekends. They serve Intelligentsia Coffee, which is super good

Stephanie Baker

It is very hard to get in here! There hours are from 8 - 3. and there is ALWAYS a line! I have to say the food is worth it, the red velvet pancakes are to die for. there service was actually very good, and its a fun place to go have a great breakfast/brunch. Id be back again!

Luis Casales

Pancakes, French toast and Turkey chilaquiles

Catherine Hall

Always fresh, delicious and perfectly on point food. Atmosphere is sharp and relaxing. Staff super friendly and fsst.

Natalie Warren

The lemon raspberry pancakes were GORGEOUS, and the other food and drinks were great too! Good service, good atmosphere. Altogether a lovely brunch experience.

Zan.

Wonderful place to eat. I highly recommend getting there before they open because this is a really popular place to eat. Between their sweet and savory, you'll find yourself in a small part of paradise in Andersonville. It's a tad too loud in the back area, but it doesn't detract from the overall dining experience.

M. Chase Rowars

If you haven't been here, you're wasting your time. Everything is beyond delicious and the service is top-notch. It's one of my favorite Chicago eateries, hands down.

Aruba Nomani

Good food and service. Slightly overpriced

boxboy rich

All the AMAZING sweets and great savory options. Great owners and staff. Delicious.

Joy Sobowale

Came here right at opening time for Sunday brunch--not too busy. The decor is really nice and there's outside seating! My friends and I ordered the shrimp scampi Benedict, BLT Benedict, and Spinach and feta benedict--TO DIE FOR. The shrimp scampi Benedict is a must-have!! Best brunch dish I've ever had. My server was also so great--really kind, positive, and had a really good energy. Such an enjoyable time, I'm definitely coming back here for more brunches!! I prefer this location to the South loop one. It has a more intimate feel, and they use the space really well!

Gina Eshu

Waitstaff was very nice and professional. My food was just warm. Seems like it took a bit for it to come out. Will try again.

Haifa M.

friendly atmosphere, good brunch choices.. we tried a couple of dishes sweet and savoury both are delicious. As for coffee it's Great. I certainly will revisit.

Shunqua Collins

Delicious as always. ... The chorizo and chicken bowl special

Melissa Brown

Delicious food, great service, seating inside as well as outdoor on the patio late spring, summer. Definitely stop in for a breakfast, brunch, lunch!

Christopher Edwards

This is my go-to restaurant for breakfast or lunch because it's nearby and the customer service is pretty good. I've been coming here for a few years now, and I find the food to be delicious. Another thing I like about this restaurant is seating in the back and the free parking.

Boyan Tantchev

The eggs Benedict were so underwhelming, there was basically no hollandaise and the poached eggs were completely cooked. On top of that There was no salt on anything...

Theresa Humanicki

One of my favorite breakfast spots! Don't sleep in and get there early. If not, just remember it will be worth the wait. Hip & high energy atmosphere.

Shari Konst

Delicious and creative food. Always fast service, even if there is sometimes a wait to get in the front door.

Laura Benevelli

Delicious food, wonderful staff, very service dog friendly

Beatriz Beckford

One of the best brunches in the city.

Paul Warnicke

This is an excellent breakfast restaurant. The variety of options is phenomenal, everything we tried was good and the staff is very friendly. This is a Chicago must dine.

John Miska

Was visiting Uptown Chicago over the weekend and had the fortunate pleasure of eating here on Sunday morning. What a delight. Food and service were top notch. The breakfast sandwiches knocked our socks off, and the staff was extremely friendly. Good job!

Jason Yoo

Great brunch spot for multiple occasions. Our server Maggie was extremely attentive and had a great attitude. Suggest the lobster Benedict and burrito.

Michael Everhart

Great breakfast place.

Andrea M

Gorgeous patio, large portion sizes for reasonable price and really great coffee!! Can't wait to come again and have something sweet on this menu

April Freeman

Solid breakfast, quick service by Sara without an H..

Sondra Ellingson

Great food and staff service show the effect of great ownership and management. What a wonderful meal for Easter Sunday brunch...or any day of the year!

MJ C

Delicious experience made sweeter with free parking. Churro French Toast was great

Sean Freund

Huge portions of sweet or savory food with a bar and mixed drinks you'd expect for brunch. I usually go on the weekends with my girlfriend and there is often a wait, but it is absolutely worth it. We usually go out for a stroll to get coffee and then the host just texts you when your table is ready. We used to go to the Bongo Room location on the West side when we lived in Logan Square or the Loop location during college. We now frequent this one and the host knows our names. I've brought friends here for boozy brunch and family in for breakfast. The Bongo Room never fails to satisfy.

David Rivera

The food here is wonderful. The waiting staff is so very accommodating. That said, the front host staff can be very vindictive. My friends and I went one Sunday for brunch, hoping to get seats in the patio. We were told 45 minutes, and waited out front with other people. We talked with other people outside when the front host heard us, and defensively stated that they were doing the best they could. Ultimately, we waited for more than an hour and were the last people seated even though other people came after us. We enjoyed a fine brunch and fine drinks. I tipped the waiter and acknowledged that he put up with a lot, seeing as the owners were working the front table. At best, the place can be a mixed blessing.

Thomas Franson

Been here 2x in the last 2 weeks. Love this spot. Cool back patio too.

Lucila Peña

Cool people and nice ambience, bad food

AL_Kaloidal

Wonderful French toast is moist and has a crunchy crust. The Moroccan mint tea is excellent as well. Great service and calming atmosphere.

Maggie Ritter

Delicious food! They keep your coffee and water full here. Friendly waiters and staff. I'd say they get a bit slow when busy, but otherwise great experience overall. Love those white chocolate caramel pretzel pancakes!

Uday Mathur

Must try the Eggs Benedict. Quick service.

Lance Peterson

Great brunch! They are very busy so either go early or plan on a wait.

R Refaey

Never disappointed me! Great food, service and atmosphere.

Shannon Sieve

Perfect as always! This location is huge, great atmosphere and fun and tasty food.

Susan Stefans

I always have trouble choosing what kind of pancake to get, so I get 2 single different kinds. A side of potatoes with Vermont White Cheddar and you’re good to go!

John Faulkenberry

Creative brunch menu - well executed ... professional, friendly service too. Love this place ❤️

Eric In Chicago Schulz

I revisited the Bongo Room for the first time in years and they still have it! The hardest part is trying to decide what to have. I was definitely in the mood for something sweet and this was fantastic. The Blackberry Cream French Toast was excellent. The service was very good by Antonia and the restaurant is still classy and incredibly clean. Definitely have to go try the lunch menu soon.

Celia Valerie

A lovely, wonderful airy conclave of a restaurant. The food is delicious: Featuring many charming and timeless classics with creative takes on modern flavors. Staff is wonderful and they're helpful with high chairs and sippy cups. The inner dining experience is sleek and homey and the outer dining experience refreshingly green, shady spots but very well.lit via natural light pouring in. Brunch of course comes as the highest recommendation meal there.

Robert Lebshier

Great food, cold drinks, and pleasant, prompt service.

W W

Bongo room is constantly good and consitantly crowded during the weekends. The pancakes and the French Toast are stars here. You cannot go here and not have them. They change constantly and you will never be disappointed here. No syrup needed., Trust me!

Andrew Patoska

Great breakfast! Items I've never seen. Great coffee

Tom Fosgard

Great brunch. Often crowded so expect to wait during peak weekend times.

Katia Robinson

Amazing food. May be a wait, but worth it. Drinks are also great!

PJ Burgess

French toast was amazing! Slight wait around noon but the food was so worth it.

Nick K

Great place for brunch! Service is top-notch, coffee is delicious, and food is amazing. Serving sizes are very generous. Got the breakfast burrito, which was giant and stuffed to the max. Definitely recommend for breakfast or brunch.

Ryan Kelly

Great decor! Had the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich and didn't have one regret. Go if you can!

Dorothy Desouzaguedes

Sweet! Savory! Sinful! Try one of each. The worst thing about Bongo Room is trying to decide which of the seasonal menu items on each of the three menu sections earns room on my plate -- oh, I'll be honest -- plates. I know I'll be back again and again, but only if I can split one of each with an equally ambitius brunchmate. Worth the wait in line.

Don Chan

Large portions and tasty breakfast choices. Staff was really on top of things as well.

Maria Suastegui

Our group started with mimosas.. so deelish!! I had the chorizo omelet. That was very good.. it wouldve been great with some cheese though. I'll add that next time. All in all it was a very nice first experience. I'll continue to recommend this place to friends and family. Also staff was very accommodating and friendly to our group.

Marilynn Flores

Food wasn't great. Bongo room in wicker is way better. I thought this one might have specials considering it was the weekend but it did not. Nice place and great service though.

Markus V. Schubert

My go to brunch spot in the neighborhood. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious my go to is the tomatillo salsa scramble with a bloody Mary.

Larry Lawrence

Excellence

Jose L Delgado Moreno

This place was delicious! Great decor and very friendly staff! Definitely will be back!

Michael Mitchell

I have ate at alot of best Brunch places and this beats them all, it's top notch and now that I live in Des Plaines I miss it. Please open one out here!!

Babs Harris

Food is excellent but service is slow. Love the patio!

Sandeep Kumar

Food was ok. Looks like their best menu is on weekend not weekdays.

Clayton Hess

White chocolate pretzel pancakes have been in my dreams for days

Denise Byrwa

The 3 of us were there for breakfast today. We enjoyed the great food. Also, special props to Cassie who is an excellent server!

Eric H

The wait here is always long, so I figured this must be one of Andersonville's best brunch spots. Boy was I disappointed. Took half an hour after being seated to get a server to ask for our order. Drinks took another 20 and came AFTER our food! Ordered Chorizo with my meal...was charged for it but never got it. And again the wait staff took so long to come by that it was too late to get it. Also brought us out an extra mimosa that nobody had ordered. Took it back when we didn't want it but of course, that showed up on the bill too. Had to fight to get all the stuff they didn't bring us removed. No apology whatsoever. The food was fine but with so many options in and around Andersonville I can't imagine why I would go back to The Bongo Room

Adriana Lugosan

This was a great brunch spot! If you don't get there early you will easily have an 1hr+ wait to eat (worth it)! The menu is kinda pricey but the food is so well made and handcrafted that I didn't mind the prices. The staff and hosts were friendly, food and mimosas were delicious!

Beth Anne Chmara

Excellent food, inventive cocktails, and beautiful back patio.

Jonnathan Javier

Went here for brunch on Mother's Day, they told us the wait was going to be 30min, ended up being 40min. But, I'll wait again, the food was excellent, had the deconstructed lobster roll eggs benedict and the plate with shrimp, can't remember its name; this one was way better, although both were really good. This items are from the brunch menu, only served Saturday and Sunday (I think). The check was almost $50 with tax and tip, beside those two things we only had coffee. Totally worth it, I'd definitely come back.

Dann Jones

Great atmosphere, indoor and outside patio. Nice and friendly service and creative food.

Margaret Wood

Enjoyed the food but did not feel welcome with my 90 year old friend.

Mark Britt

Try to sit in the outdoor patio. It is quaint and love the planters. There is nice drink variety. The pancakes are amazing. Service is nice.

Tanya Ocasio

Awsome food. Went for mothers brunch with my daughter

Ruth Robles

There’s a reason everyone knows about The Bongo Room.

Adam Szramek

This is a great brunch place. I like how open and airy it is allowing lots of light in. The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. They make really good coffee and the service is very polite. Highly recommended.

Jerry McMunn

Food was good but not really special. Coffee was really good, though. If you like this place, try Ovo Frito in Evanston!

Regina Christophell

Our food was delicious and our serve staff were alllll awesome..worth the short wait. I had the lobster Benedict..just awesome..one thing i didn't like was the potatoes..dried dill and no sear and basically sad..sorry Bongo room...those potatoes were a waste and not worth the space on the plate

Courtney

Delicious food, good service. Really recommend the guava mimosa!

Renata _B

The food here, especially the pancakes and the French toasts are out of this world!!! The only thing that upsets me is that they are rushing you through the breakfast/brunch. I want to enjoy my breakfast and to stay as long as I want maybe I want to chat and drink the coffee for an hour or so. Don't drop the check while I am still chewing the food.

Cassi Eby

Good food

Aditya Jain

The food is fine but nothing special. They messed up our reservation and when we tried to ask about it gave us a response of "I dont know why you're upset, we're just trying to help you." Well let's see, you first gave our reservation to someone else, then you try to verify our identity which if you had just done in the first place with the people that took our reservation, this wouldn't be an issue. They use an electronic texting system that didnt work, so if we hadn't been actively following up then we never would have known. Then, they assured us they'd move us to the top of the list and proceeded to seat 2 more parties before us. Overall, subpar experience for average food. Not worth your time or money

Superaldo94 Aldo

This is a great place for weekend brunch. Just make sure you're ready to stand on a line on the weekend.

Joe Cunningham

Friendly staff - great food. Usually a wait but usually not very long.

Joel DeFayette

I had a friend to come into town for the holidays. I had always mentioned the Bongo Room to which we arrived today around 10:15. Food and our server was wonderful. We were casually talking and drinking coffee when a staff person came over and told us that people were waiting to eat and we had to leave. We were not aware that there was a time limit when eating at this establishment. I thought as a paying customer who has just spent almost $60 could enjoy the experience with friends. As we walked out, there were other tables available and it wasn’t super packed like it normally is at other times. I can remembered waiting over 30 mins and had no problem while other people were eating. I wanted to speak with the manager immediately but I had to drop her off at the airport. If this is a new policy, they need to notify customers so they can rush in and gobble down their food so more important people can sit down immediately and enjoy all the time they can have. It will be a while before I return or suggest this place.

So good! Pumpkin & Banana pancakes were amazing. I love that they keep pouring fresh coffee & plates are quickly removed.

It's pretty good food. It seems to be a brunch place primarily. I would consider going to other locations. I liked that I could see the kitchen, but I didn't like smelling the food and slightly smelling like the food. There is a parking lot, but it's not paved and so I came when it rained and there were large puddles of water everywhere. But I guess it's better then paying and parking in the street. So the parking lot is a plus at this location.

Excellent food and the menu is vegetarian, vegan and omnivore friendly. You can have breakfast all day! Their French Toast and pancakes are out of this world, but the savory dishes are delicious too. Often, there is a line waiting out the door. There is outdoor patio seating as well. The servers are super friendly. This place is well worth trying out. Enjoy!
