Had a wonderful date night at Taureaux Tavern. It felt like steakhouse meets supper club. Beautiful ambiance, wonderful cocktails and great menu with lots to love. We tried a few different dishes but the standouts were the Lobster Thermador Bites and the PERFECT burger. I also appreciated that the chef came out to check in on us. I will definitely be going back!

I kept hearing about this place through friends. I decide to go last night for dinner. The decore restaurant is stunning, reminding me of old Chicago banking. I started with the Foie Gras Pate w/ candied Cocoa Nibs. Smooth elgent with a little crunch. Delish! For my entree is had the Skuna Bay Salmon w/ the skin still on! It is served over a bed of lentis mirepoix. That is by far the best salmon I have ever had! Bravo to the Chef! I am definitely going back to try other dishes.

I was back home in Chicago recently visiting from Los Angeles when I came across an IG post from Taureaux Tavern of a beautifully roasted 1/2 chicken, I had to try it. I dropped in, sat at the bar, and looked over the menu. There were so many things I wanted to order (bone in ribeye, 10oz burger w/caramelized truffle onions, oxtail & bone marrow). My mouth is watering just thinking about it...Anyway, since I already had my mind set on the chicken I ordered that. The bartender Alex recommended the Rich's table Cab and it was delicious! When the chicken arrived, the skin was crispy, the meat juicy, it was resting on a crispy bed of potatoes, and came with extra yummy chicken jus on the side...GOD DAMN, I said, GOD DAMN!!! I will definitely be back whenever I'm in town, I have many more dishes to work my way through. Thank you so much Taureaux Tavern!!! :)

Grilled Salmon with lentils and Suavia soave! Extra crispy skin over a meaty and well seasoned piece of salmon is a must. Taureaux nailed it. My bartender recommended the soave when I told her I wanted to try something other than a Sancerre. Staff was super attentive and my food arrived at a suitable time for a busy midweek night. Fantastic job, Taureaux!

Was recently in the "Chi", and heard that there was a new restaurant I should try downtown "Taureaux". Did lunch with some friends. Loved the Cheeseburger and Fries. Pricing was very reasonable. More important, operations flowed seamlessly...Great fung shwae .... Was in and out in no time. This should be you next stop.

I came to Taureaux for a lunch with colleagues. The atmosphere was lovely, with lots of natural light. The service was attentive, and food was delicious. We had the lobster bites for an appetizer, which I would recommend. Their salads are meal-sized, which is great for lunch. The steak frites salad was good, but the steak is not cooked to your chosen temperature and was medium-medium well (more done than I prefer). The fries on top were perfect!

This spot just opened and I can’t say enough great things about it! The restaurant is beautiful. Our server was charming, connected with our group and anticipated our needs all night. Lobster thermador! Omg! Even the plates and silverware you eat off of are adorable. They had a great wine list and we even had coffee after dinner and instead of regular coffee I was offered an americano which was a decadent and perfect end. Already made a reso to take my in-laws next month. Can’t wait for spring and that patio they are building too!

I had dinner with a friend at Taureaux Tavern earlier this month and the food was amazing and the service was great. The Chef came out to personally to make sure everything was tasting great. I thought that was stand up move on his part. I am definitely looking to go back.

We had the most wonderful meal at this restrarant that was new to us on our week end visit to Chicago. The salads are to die for and the menu choices are great. The cheese burger and fires were the best I have had in ages. The prices are very reasonable and I will definitely spread the word that this place is well worth your while to check out.

I was so excited to visit Taureaux Tavern for Restaurant Week. I had the salmon for dinner and an amazing chocolate cake for desert. My limited wine knowledge was not a problem because our server, Terry was helpful with walking us through the wines. I also tried a craft cocktail that had pear, lemon and ginger that I really enjoyed. Terry and the rest of the staff made the experience 5-star. I'll definitely be back to try the dinner menu!

They charged me $4 for rocks in my drink. I've never seen that. I paid for it because I thought it was hilarious, but I definitely won't ever be back. Who charges $16 for a glass of bourbon and layers on $4 for ice? The place is nice, but a little stuffy. It kind of felt like an airport bar. I suppose if Ceres is closed and there's nothing else nearby, maybe give this a shot. Just make sure you ask for no ice...

Very nice atmosphere, prices indicative of the area until you're charged a $9 upcharge on a $12 cocktail when upgrading. My bill was $21 before the tip. A bit too pricey for a mid level upgrade alchohol. They justified it by saying they gave me a "larger pour" which I did not ask for. When a customer asks for an upgrade to the standard menu, wait staff should advise them of the amount. Business shenanigans!

My first time here was a totally delectable dining experience! We chose to eat lunch out on the patio due to the beautiful weather. Our server was extremely gracious and efficient. Both the Wagyu beef dip and the smoked whitefish salad were artfully presented and delicious tasting. The venue is so comfortable and classy. Well done, Chef Mike!

The gentleman working that was our server (around 9 am) was extremely attentive (but not in an annoying way) and very friendly. Upscale bar/restaurant. The food was a little more on the pricy side compared to what I was used to, but it was worth it for the great service (plus it was super tasty!) Was a great first meal to welcome us into the city.

I was at Taureux Tavern a few nights ago with some of my coworkers and had the delicious steak and frits. Our waiter, Terry was the best and we enjoyed his sense of humor and attenive service. There are not enough stars on the board for this place. Food is off the chain. Bartenders are way beyond knowledgeable and willing to help you discover your next cocktail. This place is a must-visit. Ask for Jessi as she has you covered! Have added to my regular-visit Chicago restaurants. You will not be disappointed!

Love this place for awesome food and usually great service! The Lobster Thermidor Bites and Lobster Roll are delightfully DELICIOUS! Ask for Julian for 5 Star Service that matches the outstanding quality of every dish. You can tell the Manager cares DEEPLY about quality, customer service and hospitality.

The best part about this restaurant is the server Terry. The Chef stayed on the floor I noticed he wasn't in the kitchen. Maybe he need to spend more time in the kitchen the lobster rolls was flavorless and covered with herbs. We got full off of wine. If your looking for good quality food pass on this spot. Go straight to Steak 48. The lobster is heavily and service is one for the memory books.

Competent food and taps. Run by a restaurant group that has several other downtown bars, Taureaux is well run and already quite popular. The food is typical gastro-pub-lite, there is a good selection of taps and bottles, and wine by the bottle or the glass won't break the bank. Layout can be a bit crowded, but overall the whole experience works well.

I’ve gone into this place several times after work as I work in the area. First impression was that this place is extremely gorgeous! Think :custom tiles, huge beautiful bar, velvet chairs, chandeliers, windows on all sides! And although it’s huge and open, it feels comfortable, cozy and friendly. I had awesome service and delicious cocktails but I was also quite impressed by their wine selection and classic french inspired food menu. I’ve already met some of the “regulars” that stop by during the week on their way to the metro trains -so I know this place must be getting super popular already despite opening so recently. I can’t wait to go back to try their patio when it’s open!

New Year's resolution cheat day and didn't disappoint. Very solid and delicious riffs on French food. Don't miss the snails, oxtail and bone marrow and the eggs (oeufs) with caviar - feel like this is the sleeper. The Royale patty melt is delicious. They had a great cotes du rhone by the glass, was in a happy place. would like to see them post their wines by the glass on line

Delicious food, great atmosphere & service, worth the price! We just stopped in for appetizers and a look-see— had the raw oysters (although I think one of the 6 was “bad”), fried calamari and fries (done right!), all with great sauces. We’ll be back, and often even though the prices make one dig a bit deeper. It’s that good! Edited to add: Don't miss the roasted brussels sprouts; they are absolutely delicious!

This is a great addition to The Loop! The restaurant inside is stunning and the decor lends itself perfectly to its location in the financial district. There is a large bar area with plenty of room to sit and enjoy a drink. The menu has something for everyone. We highly recommend the steak tartare and lobster thermidor, as well as, the chef's daily specials - especially the dover sole and recently tried the bouillabaisse, a saffron fish stew which was fantastic! We cannot wait to get back to try more of the dinner menu and lunch.

The waiter was very nice, but it was one thing after another. Once seated we had to wait about 15 mins to be greeted by our waiter. Mind you we are on a 1 hr lunch. The bartender couldn't make the drink my friend wanted, nor was he able to research it on google to find out out how. My friend orders vodka straight with a splash of cranberry. When he receives it, the drink is cranberry with a splash of vodka. Takes our food order. The easiest leaves, comes back with a shot of vodka on the house but proceeds to tell us they are out of Turkey for the club sandwich! Its only 12:45 pm and they are out! So we make it simple, a burger med-well and a French onion soup. Our food doesnt arrive until 1:30. At this point we have to leave. The burger looked over cooked and the soup was very salty. Left it and packed the burger to go. Very disappointed. Does not compare to cochon volant.

I must say, I had a great experience visiting Taureaux Tavern last night. My wife and I had the Friday special, the Dover sole that was recommended by Terry and it was amazing! My wife isnt much of a drinker so Terry insisted he bring her something she would like. He got her a mock mojito that she absolutely loved. His sense of humor and attentiveness was most pleasurable. This place has become my new go-to spot in the loop! I usually order the amazing French Onion Soup or one of their salads for lunch, and the burger or steak frites is my favorite for dinner (you can’t go wrong with any of their items!) I’ll definitely return soon.

Went here for some drinks and appetizers after work, the place is really nicely decorated and the blue cheese fondue nachos, steak tartare and baked goat cheese items were all delicious. The fired bread that is served with the tartare and goat cheese was also delicious and had a really good texture and flavor to it. Cocktails were made well and the service at the bar was very friendly. Will definitely go back for lunch or dinner sometime.

If you’re looking for absolutely delicious food and a beautiful setting for dinner, this is a great spot!! The Steak Tartare is fantastic for an appetizer, the wine list is so interesting, love the quality of the Nebbiolo by the glass. The entree was a Thursday special - Bouillabaisse, delicious. I had 8 people for a family dinner and everyone left so happy with a wonderful dining experience. Can’t wait to get back to Taureaux and try more of the menu.
