Swift & Sons is Chicago thru and thru. Once a cold storage building, the Boka restaurant group has transformed it into an upscale dining experience. One item that stands out is the Fulton burger. It certainly holds its own in a city full of great burgers. Highly recommend.

The service was impeccable. The chicken was the second best chicken dish I ever had. The best ever was at Boca. The drinks were solid. The side of mushrooms had the most intoxicating smell, but were a complete disappointment because someone must have accidentally spilled an entire tub of salt on it. I can't imagine that they would over-salt it like that on purpose.

Absolutely delicious and went for my girlfriends birthday and they were very accommodating. 11/10 would recommend. We were a bit delayed because a party stayed long after paying their bill.. only like 10 minutes past our reservation and they gave us a free appetizer without us complaining or anything. We weren’t upset but we greatly appreciated the thought that without us asking they wanted to say thanks to us for waiting. Will always come back.

Service was prompt and professional and the food came out fast. Drinks, appetizers, and first courses were excellent! Steaks doneness was exactly to order, but as far as preparation goes you'll still find better steaks elsewhere in the city. Unfortunately, we were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time. When we were finally taken to our table, there were three other open tables of the same size next to us (which remained empty for another 15+ minutes), which reflected very poorly on the front-of-the-house management at an establishment at this price point.

Just so it happened that we didn’t have a reservation for 4 people on a Friday night but had enough luck to get in and holly smokes - we were so impressed! The quality of the food is truly outstanding.My favorite was probably rib eye with an order of foie gras and glazed carrots as a side,wagyu carpaccio was also excellent,great wine selection and our server was simply amazing!Do yourselves a favor and if you’re a party of 4 or more people order a “side of magic” to be served with your dinner too - it’s worth it! Coming back again and again for sure.A well deserved 5 stars for this place.

As a lone traveler, it is easy for me get a seat at the bar and have my meal there. Especially on weekend nights. Wine selection was there! 3 bars, two steak side and one sushi side. I need to go back. My steak was perfect, just more than I can eat. The one thing I like is my Brussel sprouts broiled, or a little crispness to them. I stepped out my zone and got the Brussels in Augratin sauce, I tried it. The Ribeye and the suggested wine by the bar, spot on. I appreciate the great service by my Polish heritage female bar tender! (I didn’t remember her name)

Steaks were great here. Good sauces, crust, and side options. Skip any fish here. Both of the people that had fish said it was overcooked. For the price I would have expect better cooking. Service was impeccable.

The service was prompt, professional, pleasant - not exactly friendly, but I wasn't offended. The food was fresh - good quality. I had the beet salad, a crab cake and the roasted cauliflower. I also had a great glass of red wine (Wine of Substance, Cab). The beet salad was interesting, the beets were great, yet I expected more greens. The crab cake was the best I've ever had. The cauliflower - I ate some of it, but way too much mint for me. Our wait staff, Jose, graciously removed that from the bill (I didn't make that request - so was pleasantly surprised). Nice place - and it was nice and warm while it was below zero outside! Oh one more thing - I had a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. It was excellent quality - I wasn't left extremely thirsty, like poor quality ice cream leaves me.

Our server did not at all adequately prepare our group, failing to thoroughly explain the sizing of the “side” dishes (they’re huge) even when we made clear we intended to order them as part of our personal meals (not to share). A huge disappointment overall. I’m giving two stars because the steak is actually tasty — but there are far better steakhouses in Chicago with far better service. Avoid this one.

When the best part about a visit to a much-ballyhooed steakhouse is the crispy fingerling potatoes, there's a problem. To start with, our first experience was on Valentine's Day. Clearly a busy day for dining out, but an experienced restaurant should be over-the-top prepared. We arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation (made weeks in advance) and were told they were running a minimum of 30 minutes behind. The host told us to take a seat at the bar and she'd come find us when our table was ready. (Note to management: the FIRST thing you do for a guest when you've planned poorly and are running so far behind is to offer to buy them a drink.) We found a spot at one of the many bars. The other highlight of the visit was the Aviation cocktail that the bartender crafted to perfection. After waiting for 50 minutes, we returned to the host stand. We were told our table was in fact ready and that we'd been texted 5 minutes earlier. Now, if we'd been told we should expect a text when our table was ready, we'd have left the phone on the bar to anxiously await said text. Seeing we'd been told the host would "come find us," we tucked our silenced phones in our pockets. We were led to our "table" - a 24" round temporary, pop-up table amongst a sea of others that had been wedged in between the server station and the kitchen entrance. We were told the wait would be another 30 minutes for a different table, even though we'd just passed 3-4 open tables. At any rate, our glasses of wine were delivered relatively quickly, and the crispy rock shrimp appetizer within 15 minutes of being seated. The breading on the shrimp was mushy, and the flavor very one note...just spice, no other layers of flavor. After being bumped about a dozen times by passing servers, our steaks and sides arrived about 9:15, approaching two hours after our original reservation time. Given Swift & Son's rating amongst all the incredible steakhouses in Chicago, we expected to be WOW'ed by the meat. Sadly, we weren't. No char or crust on the bone-in filet (served medium though ordered medium-rare) and just an incredibly average bone-in ribeye. The creamed spinach lacked any level of flavor whatsoever and was slightly under warm; the mushrooms were flavorful but also served under temp. As noted previously, the highlight of the experience was the crispy fingerling potatoes. If I ever HAD to go back to this restaurant, I'd sit at the bar and order a side of the potatoes. I really do hope our less-than-pleasant experience was due to the holiday, but with so many incredible dining options in Chicago, there's just no reason for me to give this place a second chance.

My group had dinner here at the end of a meeting. The service and variety of cocktails from scratch was very impressive. Overall a fabulous experience. Service is really fabulous and personable. The food meets expectation for high end steak in Chicago (a very high bar). This is perfect for a nice date, drinks with friends, or a small meeting in back. Thanks for a nice experience. If you like this place try Scarfes bar in London.

One of the best steaks in Chicago.(medium rare is closer to rare) Excellent service, wide menu and nice interior. This restaurant is on loud side, if you’re looking for a romantic quiet dinner it’s probably not the place to go, otherwise, - highly recommend.

No recommendations on menu items, our food was delivered by the food runners and we finished our food before we ever saw our server again (they weren’t busy). High expectations that fell far short. Pretty sure I’ll go back to Bavette’s to celebrate my anniversary next time.

Our daughter's wedding and reception was held here in July. It was an over-the-top special occasion for our families and Swift & Sons could not have done a better job in hosting the event. The setting was great, the food was spectacular, and the service was fantastic. They really treated us so nicely and their attention to detail and professional handling of all aspects of the day made it truly memorable. Thanks again to all the staff that served us that day, from the chefs to the wait staff to the event coordinator. You were all so wonderful. We highly recommend this venue if you are looking for an intimate setting for your wedding and reception.

We would not return based on service for our 1st experience at S&S and it was mediocre at best for Chicago and compared to all other Boka group restaurants.

Party of 15 and they handled it well. If I could I'd start with dessert, have dessert for my main course, and then finish with dessert: the pavlova was that amazing. My rib eye was well cooked, the sides and appetizers were good. Liquor list is pretty broad and the wine list looked well rounded, so I'm sure there is something for everyone. The staff did ask about food allergies, so I presume they can accommodate them relatively easily.

Hostess managed a booth for us even though we came in at 9 on Friday with no reservation. The oysters were great. The lobster bisque was creamy and flavorful. A big wine list with knowledgeable waiters. A little on the expensive side but I had a great dinner, and would recommend.

Fulton Market has it's share of great restaurants and Swift & Sons easily ranks in the Top 3. Food is good, especially steaks, service is superb and cocktails are not overly creative, which really is good thing :) Not giving it 5 stars because, in my opinion, cost and value are disproportionate here. The place is always busy (located on the first floor of Google's Chicago offices), so make reservations in advance.

I expected per the reviews that this would be an exceptional experience with one of the best steakhouses in Chicago; in my opinion it's just another steakhouse. 1) The Hammachi appetizer was extremely fishy and although I'm fairly confident that it was fresh; its didn't taste like it. It was sent back. 2) Mushrooms were pretty terrible as a side. Who ever thought that it would be a good idea to douse them in an odd mayo aioli may want to reconsider that thought. 3) Steaks were good; they weren't great but they were cooked perfectly. For as often as I eat out here in the Windy City and as close as I live to Swift and Sons, I'd be hard pressed to come back given all of the other options available.

Went last night with our little girl and what a wonderful evening we had! The staff was so nice, many came over to greet her (7.5 months) and answered question about the interesting space. The food was really good and priced well. With some stake houses in the city, I feel taken advantage of after dinner...expensive, small and mediocre sides. Here, we were pleasantly delighted with our steaks and side. The Brie mac and cheese was very good and enough for leftovers today, as was the creamed spinach. Really good food, great staff, good wine suggestions and definitely looking forward to going back!

BEWARE!!! M husband attended a business dinner earlier this year at Swift&sons Steakhouse. He gave his keys to the valet company contracted by the restaurant. Upon finishing his meeting the valet handed him his keys with the car having been parked right up front. Abour a month later we received a $250 parking ticket for parking in a handicapped spot. The date and time were that of the dinner @swift&sons. My husband spoke with the valet company who assured him they would take care of the ticket. The next month the ticket arrived in the mail again. Same response from valet company. We have now received the ticket once more but increased to $500 for not paying it. The valet company has now told us that they are not responsible for their employee breaking policy and parking the car up front in the handicapped space and will not pay the ticket. #swiftandsons had also said they will take no responsibility even though they contract with the valet and have them stationed outside their front door for services. BE PREPARED FOR YOUR DINNER TO COST AN ADDITIONAL $250!!!!

My husband and I went to dinner here with my brother-in-law and his new girlfriend. We were at dinner for about three hours! They took my dietary restrictions very seriously and made delicious plain chicken for me. My husband ordered the steak, and we both decided it's the best steak we've ever had. I ordered two Shirley Temples, and they actually make their own, which was ridiculously delicious! Be prepared for an expensive evening when going, but it's great food with great service!

Swift & Sons offered the best experience I have ever had at a steakhouse. This was a strong suggestion as we are not from around here; from Michigan for work and pleasure. Everything was perfect and absolutely delicious. My husband and I tried the wagyu- definitely meat butter. He had the salmon dish while I had the loup de mer. Neither entree were drowning in a fish taste. The celery root puree is a sweet taste with the salmon and the roasted carrots with the bass had the perfect flavors of garlic and salt to complement. 10/10 recommend.

We stopped in for a drink at Swift & Sons while waiting for a reservation a few blocks away. The atmosphere in the bar was lively, but comfortable, and the buzz of the dining room wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. The service was attentive and personable. Just amazing food and environment. The staff is extremely attentive. Maybe I'm just easily impressed but the paper towels in the bathroom we're so nice. Thick, absorbant, and kind of soft. Would eat and use restroom here anytime. Some fantastic desserts as well. At a lot of places those are an afterthought but there was clear time and work put into some great sweet dishes.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It felt so upscale yet very relaxing. The service was amazing. The food was good but some things were not so good. For starters my husband and I ordered the seafood platter. The creamed scallops that came in there were AMAZING! However, the mussels were not good at all. I ordered the crispy skinned bass and it was so tasty. For a side I requested if they could make me Brussels sprouts with bacon and they did. I truly appreciate a restaraunt that is willing to accommodate certain food requests as so many people, like myself, have dietary restrictions. And lets face it... no one likes to hear "sorry, we can't do that". My husband ordered a steak that had a texture of ham off the bone and was so tender and juicy. For dessert we ordered the pumpkin cheesecake and it was slightly too sweet for me personally.

I loved every single thing I ordered. A grapefruit adult beverage was very refreshing. The asparagus and mushrooms sides were amazing, the mushrooms especially. The lamb was melt in your mouth and we ended with the cookie dessert.

The Chappellet by the glass was ridiculous. A little secret tip, order the twice baked potato with a side of blue cheese crumbles - mix those in....delicious!

Delicious and well curated menus provide a great environment for dinner. The flavors during our last visit were memorable. We attempted a family style service and ended up very full and with food to spare. My husband and I are just shy of obsessed with this place. Their service is unbelievable, their food is out of this world, and the atmosphere that they have created to celebrate is unbeatable. We just made our second trip in eight months to celebrate at Smith and Sons (from Colorado) and we were even more impressed the second time around. We had the pleasure of Andrea serving our table, and she brought her a-game. The beef Wellington was everything I remembered and hoped for, and we will be looking forward to our third time until the next time we can get out here. You will not be disappointed- this place is the best in the business.

Honestly one of the best meals I have ever had. Some comparisons being Benny's chop house and Joe's seafood and chop house. The rib eye was cooked perfectly and every bite was flavorful and super tender. Drinks were extremely well made and service was great. The deep dish cookie dessert is also a great way to top off the meal. I highly recommend eating here. Pricey, but well worth it.

I went here with my Fiancee for an early Valentine's dinner. I can't express how much we loved this restaurant. The staff immediately greeted us upon entry and asked to take our coats. We were then escorted to our table where our server went over the menu and a few wine choices. I ordered a medium rare dry aged NY strip and my Fiancee ordered the lamb shank, both were incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. The lamb literally fell off the bone! We also decided to order a homemade pasta with a meat sauce. This was the highlight of the meal. I have NEVER eaten something with such an amazing flavor. 100% the most flavorful dish I have EVER EATEN. Trust me, order this. The bill was steep, (~$200) but absolutely work every penny.

Having a beautiful dinner at S&S reminds me why I work hard. The experience always leaves me elated and grateful I get to experience such nice things. The ambiance is spectacular, the staff is like a symphony - well rehearsed with perfect timing and the right amount of attendance to the table and freedom without intrusion. One only has to meet the GM, Eric, to understand where the magical energy of the space flows from. And the food remains of the best in Chicago. Absolute perfection.

A wine cellar with around 3000 bottles! Come for the steak and seafood. Great bread on table with 3 to 4 different selections. Staff were on their A game and a nice atmosphere. Steaks came out with 3 different sauces. Hollandaise, Steak and Horseradish. Also had many great salads to choose from. Topped off with some delicious desserts.

You get what you pay for. If your looking for a place with quality steaks, this is the place. Steaks come out fast. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating( on weekdays). Waiters are always very professional(sometimes just a little bit too much, but no big deal). Overall, a place I would highly recommend.

The food is always a great experience. The waiter was excellent and paired wine for each person. Apps, mains and desserts were each prepared well. I had the NEW York strip, one of the best in town. The beef Wellington here is the best I’ve ever had in my life. Cooked to perfection and very moist and tasty. Also had the crispy shrimp appetizers and Wagyu beef carpaccio. Wonderful food and service all around.

It is possible that their food and service are excellent but that is FAR from the experience my friends and I had. We were treated very rudely from the moment of our arrival to the moment we left. Management was obtuse and impolite for no reason. There is more to this bizarre story but I needn't bore you with the facts. I always leave honest and detailed reviews. As I said above, it is possible that your experience here will be different from mine but mine was such that I will gladly never return, particularly in a city with ten thousand steakhouses.

Everything was great from the bread plate all the way to the desert tray and coffee! My wife and I have dined at most of the best restaurants in Chicago. Our experience at Swift was outstanding. Great wine selections. We ordered by the glass in order to try a variety. We shared the crispy rock shrimp.....fabulous, the the burreto tomato salad, and the bone in filet. The best steak I have had at a Chicago restaurant. The restaurant was full and yet we were able to talk at a normal level. Service was outstanding. We will dine there again.

Went for a colleagues promotion celebration dinner. Dining room is huge and beautiful. Tableside old fashioneds were really delicious and special, plus they let you hold cool copper ice sphere thing. Steaks were great too, would recommend to anyone trying to go fancy steaks with a younger crowd.

I’m a purest for steak so surprised me it came with three sauces to choose from. The steak was good but not best ever. Sides were good. Staff was nice but didn’t seem to care that they were not alone while standing at their station. While eating a $100 meal I’d prefer not to hear what they hate about their job or the profanity laden rants about their personal lives.

The service was good. I had a vegetable pastry puff and it could not have been more dry and bland. Yuck! I realize this is a steak house, but if you don't eat steak don't bother. Sweet potato was excellent as a side. Rock shrimp very spicy. Pierogi, meh. My husband had the chicken, so so.

The best ribeye in Chicago. Melt in your mouth, well seasoned and huge (enough for 2 people). Excellent service, beautiful restaurant. Used to be Swift Premium brand meat facility.

A must go to place for very solid steak if you’re in the area. I will rate things out of 5 below: Appetizers 2/5 - I had the pierogis and agnolotti and they were pretty mediocre. The pierogi was burnt and felt reheated and the agnolotti was not too special. Drinks 4/5 - Solid selection Steaks 5/5 - honestly the best steak I’ve had. I had the dry aged steak (coupe de boeuf), was a bit pricey, but definitely worth every penny. Cooked medium rare, their 30 day dry aged steak has a hint of sour savory taste with each tender bite. Definitely why you must come here. Dessert 4/5 - honestly I’m a simple guy and the desserts here are very complex with a lot of things going on so I’m probably not the best person to appreciate it. They were all good though (our table had a large selection), so definite something to try if you’re still hungry by the end. Service 4/5 - great service, although a couple of our orders were not received. Overall, a solid place to go to.

The steak was amazing--particularly the Japanese Waygu. The lobster thermidor was weird--too sweet and orange flavored. Some of the sides were amazing--sweet potato, brussel sprouts. The spinach was flavorless and watery. Our server was a total delight. The decor is great. We went on a weeknight and it was way too loud in there.

Wonderful steakhouse vibe with modern twists on the menu and decor. Really enjoyed the Wellington and Cote de bouef for its outstanding presentation and taste. Service is of course very attentive and strategic. Dessert cart to finish is a charming touch even if the offerings are not particularly memorable

The food was wonderful, from the appetizers to salads and of course the steaks. Everything was cooked to perfection and the delivery to table was timed well so we had time to enjoy the company between courses. Nothing was rushed, nothing took too long. I chose the 22oz bone-in ribeye, it was wonderful. It had a nice char to the outside, and just outstanding flavor. All the others in the party had a Filet, which they commented was wonderful as well.

This a a surprisingly large restaurant, but it is packed for dinner, even on a Tuesday at 530, so make sure you have a reservation. I had the loup de mer and it was excellent. Whole fish presentation was beautiful. We ordered side dishes of the brussel sprouts and the mushrooms and they were both excellent and large enough for three or four people. The portion size was very generous on everything, and I cannot imagine eating either an appetizer or dessert. Even without those extra courses I did not eat half of the food on my plate. The service was excellent. the drinks were perfect as well.
