Here you will see all the feddbacks of people who bought the services of Strings Ramen Shop (Restaurant) near Illinois.
As of day this firm has a score of 4.6 out of 5 and that score was based on 1589 reviews.
As you can see its rating is almost the highest, and it is founded on a large number of scores, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their score when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Ramen restaurant.
A must try for ramen lovers. I tried the level 3 hell soup. Pretty spicy and not for the weak mouth. I'll be back for sure. Great service.
The hell ramen level 1 was perfectly salted and seasoned. Noodles were soft, spice level was easily tolerated, and the portion of noodles to meat was more than enough to finish.
Strings is the best! My boyfriend and I eat here at least two-three times a month. It's fairly priced, service is quick, customer service is great (shout out to Peter!), and the food is delicious! I highly recommend checking this place out! Note: it does get pretty packed during the dinner rush, but wait times are never too dreadful. There is a smaller waiting area that you'll be seated at & it's even heated during the winter! It is a smaller establishment & non-booth tables are very close together, so you may be closer to your neighbor than usual.
The food was super good, the staff was helpful and friendly, it took less than 5 min to get our food and there was no wait. They have many options so will definitely go back soon to try other options. If you are looking for a good Ramen place I recommend this place.
This is my favorite ramen shop in chicago. Okay okay I’ve only been to like 3 places but this place is definitely the coolest and most generous with their portions. I honestly would move to Chinatown just to go here all the time lol. It’s pretty amazing and delicious I’ve brought my family members here including my 91 year old grand dad, He’s kinda picky but he loved this place too! We are always treated with great customer service and respect. It’s a truly great place an I cannot recommend it enough. Definitely Order the Tonkatsu ramen and If your feeling brave try the spicy ramen challenge. I got the number 2 last time and it was super yummy and has a big kick.
Felt adventurous and tired ramen for my first time. It was bomski it was wild it was an explosion of flavor in my mouth! Plus service was amazing highly recommended!
The food is VERY flavorful. I'm going back for the Level 5 challenge!
Started with the Sriracha Broccoli with Bacon Bits, then had the Tonkotsu Ramen with Kamo & Kuro Buto. So delicious!!! Definitely going back to sample more items on the menu
Certainly a spot worth trying, the food is good and well prepared, the pricing is reasonable and it is constantly clean in here. Kudos.
This place never disappoints me with their food. The shoyu ramen is well-seasoned, super delicious. I also tried a new dish, chayuke or something. Rice in ramen broth, also very tasty, totally recommend it. I got the edamame for free thanks to their promotion. Will totally come back again and again.
Very delicious ramen! Super fast service and cozy atmosphere. The only complaint I have is that the seats are a bit uncomfortable and it's a pretty small place so you can easily bump into others when you come in or any other time really. Otherwise I highly enjoyed coming here once and recommend it to others.
Yes!! Come eat here. We made the switch from our other favorite Ramen spot. We'd gone to the other place for years since we started dating and haven't gone back since we came here! If you love spice, go for the hell ramen. Made it to level 4.
Went here with my husband around 6:00pm on a Tuesday and we were able to beat the dinner rush. We were seated immediately. The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food came quickly and was DELICIOUS!!
Recently went on a pretty long vacation across Japan. Had ramen for the first time and it quickly became my favorite lunch option. Have been searching for a good ramen spot close to my office, but there isn't any or they don't open until the dinner hours. Any place I found, I was hoping would have the feel, taste, service and atmosphere I experienced in Japan. Strings hit the mark completely! Everything tasted exactly how I remember it and the service was so efficient. Strings is the ramen lunch spot I have been searching for! Will be back soon!!!
It's a relatively small place, but the food makes up for it. Upon arrival we had a small wait, so we were ushered into a heated seating area that felt a bit like a patio with lots of windows but no view. As waiting areas go, it was actually kind of nice to be able to get some sun and stay warm. The food itself was wonderful. I had miso ramen, which was just the right amount for what I needed for the day. The noodles tasted very nice, and the meat that came with it was scrumptious. I also appreciated that the chopsticks were reusable, instead of the rough disposable ones you can get at other places. My friends ordered off of other items on the menu oh, and there's also looked interesting to try for next time.
Great ramen and BYOB! This place is my fave and is extremely consistent with quality of food and service.
I love this place! Great customer service and the food is amazing!! I will definitely be back and after a few more levels I'll take on "The Spice CHALLENGE!!!" You should definitely try this place out!
I admit, the only Ramen I've ever had was Maruchan but this was simply delicious. Complex mix of flavors, great service, awesome music and BYOB!
Good food, good service.
10/10 authentic ramen shop. Excellent food, service, atmosphere. If there's a short wait, it's ALWAYS worth it.
Twas my first night in Chinatown and I was looking for a fight, I ordered the fifth level of hell half passed twilight. My friends and the staff warned me, you can't handle the spice As if beckons for reason made me think twice. I pressed the pen against the paper. With such a feat one must sign a waiver With that done, it was off to the races But I still couldn't shake the concerned look on everyone's faces. My quarry arrived after much anticipation. I did not hesitate, not an ounce of trepidation. The sear overtook me in a blaze of glory The extracted essence of a Nephilim's Grigori. Until finally, I could no longer continue. I wondered to myself, "who put this on the menu?!" Then I remember, the overwhelming desire. To be one with the flames and fire. In that place where I lie beaten. It's still the best ramen I've ever eaten! Thanks for the memories and the gift that keeps on giving. Thanks to you, I lived a life worth living :)
Beware ramen lover! It's really spicy even at level 3!
Good ramen at a fair price
Took my family here and great foods the staffs were friendly and the restaurant is a bit small but that made you feel like you were in Japan.
Apparently a friend bought me some food from here and when I opened it up, the chicken was raw and also, I found pieces of hair in my noodle. So I'm not ordering from this place again. Sorry. Unless I had to do something else with it, then I'll change my rating.
Authentically delicious! The food was to die for. Probably the best ramen once ever had staff is very accommodating and friendly. Dedicated revisiting!
Great service, very kind servers! The portions of ramen are big enough for 2 with an extra portion of noodles
We had a group of three and went to this restaurant during the peak of lunchtime, but were lucky to get seated quickly. I am a vegetarian and have to say this is the one of the best vegetarian ramen meals I have had. It was spiced well, the vegetable assortment was cooked well and delicious, and I was so satisfied at the end of the meal. I ate this during the polar vortex which probably made it taste all the more better. I highly recommend this place.
The noodles have egg, but our server was very helpful in finding a way for me to veganize my ramen! Delicious!
Superb Ramen - had the best Tonkosu in my life <3
One of my favorite ramen spots in Chicago
I've been coming here for more than 3 years now, from when it opened. There is no doubt that it always has amazing food. But lately (Dec 2018-Mar2019) the service quality has been going down hill quite quickly. The server is rude to customer, take the food order wrong. After my last experience 30th of March 2018, I decided not coming to strings ever again till the service improves.
I once declared this the best ramen in the city. I completely admire that they make their own noodles, and they're delicious. But on subsequent visits, I had a couple disappointing bowls where the ramen was not as hot as it should have been. I gave it another shot recently however, and it was just as delicious as I originally remembered.
Great place I love how everyone is so nice in the place and the atmosphere it's just incredible
First time here yesterday and it was overwhelming but in a good way. We had plenty of questions and Josh and Selena were very helpful, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and understand the items available. These two definitely raise the bar when it comes to customer service skills. The food was amazing. We had several platters and appetizers, unfortunately we didn't get to taste the Ramen which they don't offer for carry out. We had almost one or two of each appetizer; at our place it was the first thing to be completely gone (delicious). We had the Seafood rice bowl, the Duck with noodles, and the Meats (pork) rice bowl. Very amazing. Next time we are in the area we will definitely sit in to give the ramen a try.
I almost do not want to leave a review for fear the next time I return, the line will be out the door. Put it this way, Chicago is a foodie town, tons of options and I go here at least twice a month! Service: Very good Delivery time: Superior BYOB: Icing on the cake! Food: Delectable I will return to spend more of my money at this establishment! P.S....I also enjoyed their playlist. Photo is okay because my focus was on eating
First timer! But let me tell you it was DELICIOUS! The ambiance in this place was awesome. The staff very friendly and attentive. Food and dessert was on point. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
Best Ramen in the city! Hands down my favorite. The Tonkotsu Ramen is perfection.
Long time fan of strings ramen, anytime I go to Chicago it's a total guilty pleasure. I typically grab a Hell level 3 then go take a stroll through Chinatown which is literally across the street. Make sure to snap a photo and tag on Instagram, they give you a free edamame!
By far the best Ramen noodles in the city. Very nice and clean place. Staff are very friendly and very attentive to what you need. Everybody ,from cook to server, gave top notch service. First time here with my wife and two kids. We all had a great meal. That Level 1 spicy ramen noodles were superb. Just the right amount of spice. Flavors were so intriguing and the crunch on the pork skin was just the perfect combination. Definitely will be coming back more often now. Level 2,3,4 and 5...... im coming for you
I visit this spot a lot since I work nearby. I love how the service is always awesome and they keep the spot clean constantly. Prices are reasonable and they serve sizeable portions.
Good shiet fam
I love Strings. One of the best ramen shops in Chicago.
Great food and friendly service!
Had a excellent experience in this place with my son. The food comes quick and the service is just awesome. Prices are fair.
I spilled my ramen all over myself (long story) and they came running! They were really sweet about it, and cleaned it up really well. Most importantly, they immediately placed another order for me and had it ready by the time I got back to the table from the bathroom. Thank you so much, guys.
This picture doesn’t do it justice on how flavorful their ramen is!! It was spiced to perfection and I love how you can add more noodles as an ale a cart item!! Great job! Also, we got our water and ordered and our waitress literally brought out our ramen bowls within 5 mins or less. Amazing service I highly recommend checking them out at one of their locations if you’re in the a Chicago area!!!
Really good service and food
It's one of the go-to place in Chicago China town if you are craving for Ramen. Good portion size, good price, and nice atmosphere if you have friends or relatives coming to visit. I gave four-star because I wish the seatings were a little better especially near the entry. It does get very tight when sitting with other customers since the tables nor the seats move. Other than that, highly recommend this place!
This was my first time at Strings. Delicious and authentic ramen! I will definitely be back.
Maybe the second or third best ramen I've had in my life (my first rank is in Makati, Philippines) The noodles are really good! Some ramen places overlook the noodles and focus on the broth which is why it can taste sort of uneven sometimes. This place takes care of both factors beautifully and gives a delightful and simple dish. The place itself is a bit small so you might have to wait around 20-30 minutes depending on the crowd. The staff are friendly and if you're a tea person, you should definitely ask for some nice green tea to go with your ramen (it's free!)
One of best Ramen places in the world. The Hell Ramen is life changing.
This was my best experience in Chinatown. The seafood ramen with extra ramen. It’s soooooooo good. You will dream about it
Startlingly delicious food, very friendly service, and fair pricing. Will definitely be coming back.
Food is Amazing. Staff is very proactive and attentive. Nice and cozy place to relax and eat good. And BYOB . Thumbs up
Delicious ramen. A neighborhood gem. Friendly service.
One of my favorite ramen spots in the city. Great noodles and broth. Perfect for a cold Chicago day or if you are feeling a little under the weather. Cool atmosphere and music.
A friend recommended this place to me a while ago. I was in China Town so I figured it would be worth a visit. Bad idea! This place is always super crowded and hot! The food is mediocre and the prices are ridiculous. 2 dollars for a piece of garlic on the side! There a so many other great restaurants in China Town that you would be better off going to. Avoid this one if you can!
I haven't been here since they first opened, so I thought I'd try it again. The services was very fast, comparable to ramen shop in Japan. The egg was prolly the best thing. Pork belly was pretty good too, soft and tasty. The noodle was way too hard, it could use a few more minutes of cooking. Soup was a bit salty but better than many other ramen places.
Good place for spicy ramen. Be ready to sweat if you get hell ramen 3 and up. Great service
Great food fast friendly service!
Really good! Decent price and great ambiance! Thank you an see you soon ;) PS: add more veg friendly dishes! It would be amazing
It’s really great! Offers all of the main ramen types
Had the level 5 ramen challenge.. easily the worst decision I'm going to make this week. And it's only monday.
Excellent service!!!!!!!!! Delicious food!!!! Fast and friendly. Best and fastest service I have had in a very long time at a popular restaurant!
Always a pleasure.
Great Ramen and broccoli app was good
Seafood ramen is awesome! Love it!
I went with dear friends for lunch before I moved to Massachusetts and I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was so patient but also very knowledgeable about the menu. She helped me make a great choice and I enjoyed my food down t.te last drop. You MUST make a trip to China town and go to Strings. You wont regret it.
Took my son here after graduation. Wsnted to try something new. My son and I loved it and the food was plentiful and tasty. We will be returning.
Food was great. Service was good even though it was a small place we were seated quick definitely recommend.
Very flavorful and lots of choices. Will definitely come back again
My fav location for quality Ramen. stopped in on a tuesday. next time i'll be back with my relatives. the bill was good for how much you get. this place has many good reviews for a reason.
One of my favorite Ramen places in Chicago. Open view kitchen, not expensive and yet classy joint. They have plenty of Vegetarian dishes.
Currently working my way up the hell ladder. Will be coming back for hell 4! If you aren't a spicy ramen fan please try out their regular soups. The noodles here are the best and you can tell that they are hand made. They have a wonderful chew. The place is a bit cramped but wonderful ambience.
Many options on the menu. Great service. Decent prices (apprx. $15 for a bowl of ramen.) Mainly caters to meat eaters, but does have a few vegetarian options. The noodles have egg in them, so their ramen isn't vegan. Great place to go with friends or on a date. Not great for kids though due to tight seating areas and lack of kid-friendly items on the menu.
Finally tried Strings with my hubs while we are vacationing in Chicago. We got the hell ramen level 2 and tonkutsu premium. Our fav was the tonkutsu premium the broth was really flavorful. Hell ramen wasn't spicy as expected but it was still good, next time getting higher level. Noodles were a bit harder to my preference I like softer noodles but it was perfect for my hubs. Price was a bit higher then other ramen places we visited but it was a good experience for us ramen lovers.
Its hard to pick what to like from this place. I usually go for the Shio Ramen with Lv 2 on the side. Their desert is amazing too.
Excellent ramen restaurant, food was delicious, prices were fair.
Very cool place. Nice aesthetic. Packed to the brim with people. The ramen was pretty good - not the best I've had in Chicago, but at least up there in line with the best. I had their hell ramen, level 3, and was quite happy with the level of spiciness. Absolutely love that they're using that variety of peppers that gives you that metallic burn, and the broth and noodles were both quite tasty. The bowls were pretty big, but I didn't leave as full as I've left some other places. Not sure if I was just super hungry that night, or if the servings were just smaller. I'd absolutely recommend a visit if you're in the market for a very, very spicy bowl of ramen (Since there are two levels above even the one I had), or if you're just in the area.
Best Ramen in Illinois period! Everyone I’ve ever brought here loves it.
This has got to be the best ramen I have ever had! Recommend the miso style pork dish! Very filling and all the staff was kind and attentive! So glad we came to Chinatown and picked this location for our meal! Our young kids (6,8) loved the noodle and rice dishes here too!
Tasty, non-traditional food. Great presentation; great staff to help decipher Japanese menu.
This ramen is so delicious!!!! I would fight a bull and win!!!!! If it meant I could eat some of this ramen! This ramen invaded my tastebuds and conquered my stomach. This ramen is the Michael Jordan of ramen. If this ramen ran for president it would have my vote! What I’m trying to say is.... Why haven’t you tried this ramen yet!!!!! Go and get a bowl!! Now!!!
Great place, really authentic flavors. The miso broth was amazing and the oden shoyu ramen was great too. Over all a great place to go for ramen.
OMG!! Everything is sooooooo good!!!
One of my favorite Ramen shops! I really love, love their food. Super friendly staff and a great, laidback atmosphere. Every time I'm in Chicago I make a trip to Strings to get a bowl of delicious duck ramen. Everything is so good!
Easily the best Ramen shop I have experienced since moving to Chicago. Authentic, delicious food with plenty of options. Service is solid, friendly and always willing to help with the menu. Portions are huge and the prices are more than fair. When I am craving a bowl of Ramen, this is my go to spot!
I have been to many other ramen shops in Chicago and this is by far number 1!!!
Ramen and the scene here is better than most. Do not leave if it's busy, it is worth it. Certainly worth a return trip. Prices were fair.
Very good ramen place in Chinatown
Tonkatsu was on point and Hell Ramen was aight. Should’ve gone for Level 4. Level 2 is nothing on the Viet scale
This is one of the best Ramen shops I've been to in the USA and most likely the best I've been to in Chicago! The Ramen is really good, digests easily, bursts with flavor, perfect amount. Atmosphere is pleasant with a chill vibe, music not too loud, good lighting and comfortable seating. Staff was super friendly! I can't wait to go back again!
Awesome place! Ramen is amazing, and the cream soda I had was delicious
Favorite ramen shop in Chicago. We can’t wait to try the spicy ramen!!
Best Ramen in houston! Staff was very friendly and food came out super hot and fresh. will be back =)
THE BEST RAMEN IN CHICAGO!
Great ramen shop on a cold rainy day. Lo-fi music playing in the background, both atmospheric and tranquil. The ramen was delicious. Very quick service and waiter was extremely nice. Recommend.
one of the best in Chicago. Generous amount of meat, silky smooth broth. Ask for the Hell sauce on the side. Good flavor
Yum, we loved it
Ramen is good. A bit pricey. It's a small place.
One of my favorite ramen spots in Chicago! Super friendly staff and the whole restaurant is always clean and well taken care of.
Best ramen hands down! The only actual spicy and flavorful ramen in Chicago. It’s a must if you enjoy spicy food!
The ramen is great!
This place was beautiful and the food was delicious. It was recommended to us by a local, and I'm so glad we listened. Our waiter explained everything really well, especially when we weren't sure how/what to order. He also recommended an amazing Grapefruit drink that was delicious. I loved everything about this experience and would go again for sure.
This spot is good! Convenient pricing, big dishes and the employees are always welcoming.
Tried hell ramen here (not a lot of veggie options). We tried level 3 (1-5 levels for increasing levels of spice) and that was a tad bit more spice than we could handle but the broth was a real deal and the noodles were perfectly cooked as well. Pro tip: post a review/rating on yelp in front of them for a free side like Edamame.
Great variety of ramen and other delicious food! Prepared quickly yet delicious!
Hell ramen vegetarian level 1. Very good
Level 5 hell ramen will help you cleanse your soul :)
The ramen is better then another sushi restaurant. Big portions too
Excellent noodles. Fairly priced.
My favorite place for ramen in the whole city.
Ramen, mmm, super tasty. visited on fri i believe. i've had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back.
The ramen is good but there is a bit too much oil
My fav place for ramen. very tasty. there was quick, helpful, and friendly service. prices are appropriate for the quality. food is like a restaurant in louisville i loved.
The food is great. And the variety is great. But still not so customizable. Even though they can. But good Food.
My first time and it was awesome
Swish. The ramen was delish and the perfect amount.
Quick and fast Ramen shop great place to take your friends to!
The dry Ramen is the best. Any other type of Ramen is just okay in my opinion I have had way better in other Ramen shops in the city. The flavor was not as full as the others I have tried.
Everyone is very kind. Food is very well prepared and just a 10 out of 10. Will recommend it to anybody and everybody.
friendly staff and amazing food. they even replaced my whole order because of a mistake i made. they are very willing to replace/remove/add things to/from your order. even when the place is full, the food comes fairly quickly. my favourite ramen place
Delicious ramen! The one with duck breast and pork was amazing!
Best noodles I personally have ever had.
Not the best and not the worst ramen in the city. I would definitely go here if I was in a pinch and needed ramen fast and was in the area. We came on a Wednesday around 7pm and was seated, ordered, and ate within 45 minutes... So the service and food delivery is very fast! Both the broths were pretty good. Noodles were sightly undercooked to give it a good chew which I like. Definitely get a side of the hell sauce to spice up any of the non-Hell ramen.
If you love ramen this is def the place for you ! Staff is super friendly and a great overall dining experience. Great for date night as well. Highly recommend, must try
This is such a wonderful place to get authentic ramen dishes. I sent photos of the menu and food to a friend from Japan and he was very jealous of us! The noodles were great and broth delicious. The service was impeccable and people all seemed happy. The green tea was also very delicious and strong.
We were coming out of a concert looking for a quick and or decent bite. This came up in my nearby places and well the rest is history. Can't remember the exact name but it was a seafood ramen bowl, damn worth a try.
Excellent ramen in a hip yet cozy spot. Fast, friendly service and delicious dishes, mushroom salad is spot on to take the edge off the spice.
I love variety of ramen here. The best in the city. I love pork belly shoyu ramen level 3 with melon cream soda. Perfect for cold weather. Nothing better than hot soup before bed. Fast and friendly services. Excellent for quick bite. They are open late and plenty of parking at night.
We visited yesterday and it is a cute and trendy place. I had 3 teenagers and my toddler and 9 month old with me... We all fit in a booth. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us since we're new to "real ramen". The broth was out of this world. We loved it and would like to visit again without the small children.
Strings is my ramen stop if I can't get out to the west suburbs for ramen. It's easily accessible by public transit and despite the crowdedness, I never had to wait long. The place is really cramped though when it's full and hard to get out depending on where they seat you. I really like their oden ramen and hell ramen level 1 if I want some spice. I always get an extra egg because they are so good. I went with a group meetup this time and several of the people never had ramen before. I think it's a good spot for people willing to try new things and discover new tastes. The staff was also very vigilant about food allergies. It's a good started place for those new to ramen. I'd recommend it.
Absolutely love the shio ramen!! They are always so hospitable and family friendly.
Fantastic authentic ramen. A must if you're in the area. The broccoli is a great app and I'm a big fan of the pork belly & duck ramen. Smaller groups (2-4) are best.
This place is great. Best ramen
DElicious flavorful Ramen bowls with fast service...the only drawback is no takeout
Always a good choice for ramen
Good food n love the set up of the place
Best Ramen...period.
I've been 3 times. the food has always been good. The service has always been good. Definitely one of the best ramen shops in Chicago
This is the spot to hit when in china town! tried the seafood soup don’t remember the exact name but it was delicious always order it when I come! Wife had spicy ramen noodles and it was
It was interesting to try something new! There is no silverware you must eat eith chopsticks!
Amazing restaurant. Had Ramen for the first time and it was delicious. The server did help us with selection of the main course as we did not have much idea :- 1 Miso Ramen (Turkey) 2 Shoyu Ramen (veg) 3 vegetable rice bowl (veg) The service was quick and did not take much time. The size of the serving was good. The ambiance was good. The prices are reasonable.
Found this place while doing car maintenance at Goudy Honda and I love it! I got the Spicy Miso (spicy) and it was perfect. I took the advice and went with the injected egg, definitely did not disappoint. Their customer service is excellent.
Best authentic ramen Ive had in chicago. Always a great experience, waitstaff is always super friendly and helpful when ordering and explaining everything.
Delicious, ordered level 3 hell ramen, very spicy but manageable. Cleared my sinuses. Cool interior too, overhead plants and comfortable
