I can see why this place only gets 3.5 stars, I'm rounding down mine to 3. Although advertised "homemade", the veggie burger is indeed frozen. I believe it's a frozen black bean Boca burger. Take a look at the pics - what do you think? While the veggie burger was a miss, I enjoyed the soft pretzel bun and the lime cilantro aioli was bursting with flavor. The dip paired really well with the crispy tater tots. Definitely request the condiment! The default side of fries that come with the burger are sooooo salty. As an avid fan of fries, after a few, I gave up. Go for the kettle chips instead. The warm homemade kettle chips were tasty and lost count of how many I devoured from my hubby's plate. My hubby felt sick from the pulled pork. Another reason why I'm not a big fan of this place - there's really not much to choose from besides beer and sugary cocktails and cider. I wish Prosecco or bubbly wine was offered. The overly sweet White Sangria was another miss, after a few sips, I threw in the towel. My hubby enjoyed his Irish mule. The kitchen is open late until 12:30am, which is why we came. It wasn't the best touch-down meal in Chicago after traveling from DC. If you enjoy burgers, bbq, fried food galore, and hoppy beer, Stonewood is up your alley. Just don't expect any gourmet meals here.

We always have enjoyed New Year's Eve there. It's getting harder and harder to get a reservation though. Plus didn't seem as crowded. It was busy but not packed. Service tonight not as good as in the past but ok. Decorated very festive, but the energy seemed to be lacking this year. We do always enjoy it there and will return.

I personally didn’t dine in their and I never have but I went their to apply for a position with my sister, we asked this white young girl assistant manager with glasses she seemed nice at first she sat us down and gave us applications but as soon as I finished my application and gave it too her she asked me really rude why I couldn’t work the certain days that I put I wasn’t available I told her why and she seem bothered by that and it also seemed like she was racist and she dosent like Mexicans only her nationality, because after that I was supposed to get a call from her manager and never did...

Their food has always been good every time i eat here...friendly staff but getting your drinks can take a while...over all a mixed group for lunch..last time was a week day..so business people, ladies club...couples and small family get together like ours..overall every time, this was my 5th, has been a good experience.

My friend and I shared the Frickles app, wedge salad and southwestern burger. Everything was delicious (and cooked properly). Plenty of selection for draft beer. We sat at the bar. Seemed like a decent amount of regulars. However, we didn't feel like the bartender was interested in developing us as regulars. In fact, right when my (former) server senses were tingling that dinner should be about ready, that's when our food order was taken! Good food, good ambience (the music selection was amazing), meh service.

Went to Stonewood Ale at 445pm. Half price drinks were only for people at bar. Can't figure that out. Had BBQ ribs. They were excellent. Definitely need a new cabbage slaw recipe. Service was good. Would not highly recommend Stonewood Ale as a place to go. Much better places around.

This restaurant doesn't appear to be an establishment that caters to large groups; despite having the capacity to do so. Our group had a reservation, made more than 3 weeks prior to the date, however, the restaurant felt it was practical to only staff one server to our party, which was a group in excess of 25 people. If that were not an indication of how the evening would flow, delayed service was followed by inaccurate orders, coupled with my sons and I not receiving our meals until well after everyone else had their food and was nearly done. To add insult to injury, my meal was incorrect. Despite the manager working to remedy the situation, we continued to experience tardy service. We only had additional staff members appear when it was time to collect the various bills. Consequently, it was then when we didn't see our original server at all. These new servers, not having the benefit of knowing who ordered what, began distributing checks to different groups of people and collecting money from different people. Needless to say, a great deal of confusion arose. This is certainly not a restaurant I would return to or recommend my friends visit.

Run of the mill commercial "Irish" ale house. The walls, floors, booths, etc shove a tacky, corporate planned, plastic surgery-esque vibe down your throat. The outside of the place is a drab gray best left unnoticed. However, aside from their appalling aesthetic, the staff was great and their beer was well priced. I didn't try the food so I can't say anything about that. Overall if you're someone who likes adult plastic play pens with alcohol or are half blind this place is for you.

Food was pretty good, but my cheeseburger, which was described as "smothered" in cheese was merely topped with cheese, one slice, maybe two thin slices at best, which was very disappointing to me. I hate when things are falsely advertised like that. If their menu description hadnt gotten my hopes up, maybe I would have enjoyed what they served me more than I did.

Happy hour is good with awesome prices. I had a party of 6 for a secret santa gift exchange and we enjoyed ourselves. The staff accommodated us when we found out the happy hour was at the bar area only. They put us at another table with no problem. We ordered a bunch of appetizers which we found to be very good. As my entree, I ordered the meatloaf and it was HUGE and sooo tasty.

Having never visited prior to this evening we were hoping all the recommendations were accurate. Simply stated, they were. The food (taste and quantity) were exceptional. The host and wait staff friendly and courteous. The drink options were many including some great drafts and special's. Overall highly recommended and great value.

Wasn't particularly busy, but every step including paying the check seemed to take a while. The fish in the fish tacos was delicious, but the tortillas tasted as though the restaurant had taken them out of a package and neglected to actually cook them.

We always like Stonewood's atmosphere and food. But over the past year the wait staff is not as knowledgeable about the craft beers as they used to be. It seems the training of staff has been relaxed. Stonewood seems more concerned about your repeat business with coupons than service by knowledgeable and confident servers.

Hadn't been here for a few years. We just went and we were extremely dissatisfied. Usually the French onion and Louisiana pasta are good. Both dishes were not today. Also asked for a sandwhich to go. As I walked out I asked the hostess for a cup and ranch for my to go order and was forced to pay 75 cent for a cup of ranch when our bill was just 85. So petty, I felt the need to be petty and leave this review.

We went on a Saturday afternoon wasnt really busy. We were seated in an area with high cellings. It was very nice . we had the burgers and chicken nuggets.the food was very good. Menu has some great choices. The beer menu is pretty big and with mostly all popular beers. Overall I will probably visit here again to try the dinner service. Good find.

Love the warmth of the ambiance (wood, fireplace, open, spacious). Their frickles give a whole new meaning to fried pickles and it's a good one! Skirt steak was phenomenal. Plan on taking some home in a doggy bag though especially if you also get the frickles!

First customer of the day, noon - five senior men, the guy that greeted us at the door, had a support of some kind on his hand, was asked if he was owner or manager and responded that he was janitor with keys. I noted that he continued to perform the welcoming task for some time. The reason he’s mentioned at all is that he needs to be replaced quickly, totally lacking in any ability to interact with other human beings. Attitude adjustment mandatory. Food and atmosphere was adequate and as expected. Bartender ended up waiting on us, tall dark haired very pleasant young man, good job.

This is a great place to bring your family or some friends to watch the game and catch up on things. The atmosphere is cozy with a large bar in the center and bar height dining tables around it. In the dining room you are greeted by a large fireplace and booths. The food is all around good. The wings, no matter what sauce, are great and the southwestern eggrolls are bigger and better than any other place I have been. Burgers are a little bit on the smaller size, but when I go, i opt for apps and wings. Its the best way to chill and chat and watch the game.

We are on a bus trip. Stonewood Ale House was within walking distance of our hotel. Was that ever lucky! The place can hold a lot of people. It is an all-around great venue. Our waitress, Emily, took our orders, and in a few minutes we were served delicious hot food that was presented beautifully. We highly recommend Stonewood Ale House.

Don't go to this place. Showed up with 18 people after a sporting event and we were turned away. Even asked to split the group up and the manager was unable to take our group. The place was empty. I guess they don't want the business. Very disappointed.

Very chic and comfortable place to stay. Artwork is amazing. Atmosphere is contemporary industrial elegant trendy. Gym is state of the art and clean. Staff is kind and is genuinely caring. Amenities are beyond accommodating. Must try the soaking tub, rain shower and the washlet - aka state of the art electronic toilet bidet with angles never thought possible yet guilt free. And the food... good quality with an artistic flare and uniqueness. Not to mention the never-ending array of tequilas. Every collectors dream. Love this place. And I am a hotel snob.

Great place to have dinner, have some conversation away from the bar. Ordered BBQ Burger and Thai Steak Salad...very good. And Key Lime Pie for dessert (shareable size). Friendly atmosphere. Reasonable prices and good happy hour offerings. Great customer service. Love Bradley, the manager and tonight, our waitress Kira was fantastic. Will definitely go back for some happy hour.

This is a well established place that over the years has been consistent in quality and service. IMHO it has one of the best black and blue burgers in a wide area. I don't ever remember anyone I had a meal with sending something back. You should be aware that it can be noisy at times due to all the hard surfaces but it's really not the place you want to go for an intimate meal so that's not a big deal. Located on the out lots of Woodfield Mall easy access to route 53 and the tollway too.
