You have all the opinions of real people who have information of the services and products of Songdo Korean BBQ (Restaurant) in the state of Illinois.
At the moment this firm receives a score of 4.0 out of 5 and this score was based on 168 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is quite good, and it is based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can conclude that the evaluation is very credible. If people have bothered to give their feddback when they are happy with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Korean restaurant.
Its not so great.. just ok at most and all foods arent so fresh. Owner lady is kinda rude also
Great Korean barbecue
Love how you are able to grab your own meat rather than to keep asking for more.
Lots of choices for BBQ meats, house made sauces, salads, kimchi mixes and delicious Korean small dishes! Good for families and they have two price points for kids $11.99 & $13.99 for the all you can eat- adults are around $22 so bring your appetites.
I really enjoyed eating here with my mom. The bulgogi was marinated nicely. It was very tender too. The kalbi had a good flavor, but some parts were a little tough. I love the grill experience and the manager came by often to help us cook so that we could enjoy eating more. She was very nice. The place needs to be really updated, but honestly, once you start eating, you forget about all of that. I am one for a restaurant that cooks like home and a lot of the side dishes reminds me of what mom makes ( of course no one does it better than her).mom and I paid like 54.00 altogether. It was cool, considering you can eat as much as you want.
Great BYOB place. Service is great. Seems a bit pricy, but considering how much meat you can eat, it is a deal. Not a good deal for vegetarians. The side dishes are also unique and tasty.
decent place the food choices weren't all that.
I worked there, and ill tell you. The food might be good, but the dishs are not as clean as you might think. She made us clean it as fast as possible and we wash the dishs by hand. No machine. work environment is garbage, we rushed all the time, and the old lady steals our tips., if you are gonna give a tip, give it to the worker with out her noticing. Don't over pat, basic bill is about 25 per person.
Too cold to eat here. Food is limited.
Low quality frozen meat, small and uncomfortable grill that burns meat, low quality unappetizing sides and expensive price
I ate a lot and the waiter said don't come again. Definitely, she was angry...
Great food. Delicious Buffett at an amazing price.
Really poor service. We ordered the 4 lb beef bulgogi special and we were given a plate that could not have weighed more than 3 lbs. The lady was not friendly at all and relentlessly argued that we were given the full 4 lbs. Place is also dingy and poorly ventilated for a bbq restaurant. Appetizers were only so-so. Only reason I’m giving even 1 star is because the beef was good. Overall a very disappointing experience.
If you are Korean. You will know once you go. Better not taste. One star because no other choice.
The food was not bad! The choices were nice and my group went close to closing so she gave us the eye but was so nice. We left about 10 minutes after closing on the door but I did not feel so rushed and she even helped us cut and showed a few of us how to do it.
Lots of great food! Excellent service! Bring a large appetite!
A wonderful place to relax with friends and enjoy something delicious.
Love this place! Much more friendly staff, less intimidating. All you can eat!
My brother and I have frequented Song Do many times. The food is fabulous. Granted, the decor is a bit blase' and basic, but we go there for an outstanding meal, not the decorations and the frills. The buffet is always well maintained with freshly prepared meats and seafood, and the vegetables are always fresh. The kim chi is great, and the bulgogi is tender and marinated to perfection. It can be crowded at times, but, so what. That's because it's a great restaurant. Staff are always pleasant and responsive.
It's cheap for some decent meat . Best thing is not gas grill
Self served all you can eat Korean bbq, lady there is super nice and helps you cook
The food was good.
The price was higher than advertised. The business was unresponsive when it was brought to their attention.
The lady works here doesn't like people who eat a lot.
Good food good service very professional
Best Korean BBQ I have ever had. Go hungry.
too expensive $25.99 per person
The only k bbq in town that is all you can eat.
I'm the most full.
Totally come here. It’s a great experience, great food, great service.
Amazing in every regard. Sure there are nicer Korean BBQ places, but it rides the perfect value/cost line, and the BYOB policy is a great plus.
Korean food, very satisfying. Good place to catch up with friends. The service here is better than most. Prices were average for the menu. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I liked.
We have been wanting to try an all you can eat Korean BBQ places so we decided on this place since it had decent reviews. Sad to say it was a disappointment and not worth our money. The place was small and dingy and not ventilated well for BBQ. There wasn't much food out and the meats were not fresh. Some of it was still frozen. Also at $25 pp you would think there was some kind of seafood and there wasn't. The bathrooms were gross and had a sign that said to not flush toilet paper down the drain. Overall, we will not be going back nor recommend others.
Excellent
Wow an all you can eat Korean BBQ place!
This place is grimey and expensive. The meat is just hanging out in a semi chilled buffet! The side bar is Luke warm at best and the red dingy carpet is uber nasty. I would not ever return here. The nicest thing was the staff and it's only saving grace.
I love the concept. Places dosn't look like a 5 star but staff is lovely. Went hear for my girl's birthday and it was awesome. Only down was the interior temperature was too low. We had to eat with our jackets
Ms.C the old lady makes everything from scratch. The price is decent for all the food you'll get. I've been coming here for years now and they have always been so consistent with their food. I like how the place looks like it has a real old school restaurant feel. I bring my friends and office mates here all the time. Bring They say that this is a hidden gem in Chicago. Bring your own bottle and start grilling.
Really good value for BBQ buffet
Honestly, my most favorite go-to AYCE KBBQ place. I go to Song Do at least once a month!! It’s a good treat- great food, great time especially with friends. Good selection of various kbbq meat (my favorite is the Bulgogi), well-marinated. Simply delicious. The Owner is very nice and friendly. *** The only downside is you shouldn’t go to this place if you’re super picky and you want more than just the regular kbbq staples and if the somewhat “rustic” scenery bothers you. (I think this is where most of the negative reviews come from....) Otherwise the food is good and hey, it’s AYCE. Get as much as you want, get full, BYOB.
Decent place for all you can eat Korean BBQ, it's about $25 per person. They have pretty good selection of the meats: bulgogi, galbi, and chicken skewer. They also have a good selection of panchan (side dishes). My favorite there is the glass noodles. This place use charcoal to BBQ, too!
I believe it is the only Korean BBQ buffet in town. Price is quite good. Good as quite good too. Has a variety of meets.
Song Do accommodated a large group (33 of us!) on a Saturday night and made us all feel at home. The food was incredible, the service quick and attentive and the atmosphere perfect. I would highly recommend Song Do for both small and large dinners!
Nice service, if pricy. Ventilation could be a little better.
Loved it. Defnetly worth the money. Price is resonable. Food was great.
Wonderful food! All you can eat buffet for great price! Atmosphere was slightly loud, but it was just like you were in Korea! There were all kinds of meats that you can grill right at your table, plus kimchee and other sides. It was a delightful experience! Thank you!
Though the place may be small, the staff are welcoming and the service is satisfactory. All you can eat Koren BBQ and appetizers for a decent price.
Korean food at this location - super good. service is always awesome even when they have a full house. the service was very friendly and attentive.
Comparing to LA, this is definitely subpar, but given the location, this is not a bad place to come for AYCE KBBQ. I believe it's the only AYCE KBBQ in Chigago?
The people who work here are extremely nice and helpful, as others have mentioned. They will help you grill and get started if you've never done it before. They have a selection of probably 8-10 meats, and you really can get ayce. There is also a selection of appetizers and sides you can get.
Got food poisoning from eating here. Lacks quality and taste. Outdated atmosphere. Server was nice. Will not return.
Food was good and the only lady working there was extremely nice and hard working. Had a good time with the family
Good spot for delicious korean food. dropped in on mon i think. the service was very helpful and observant. the place has a nice atmosphere.
korean food, mmm, super tasty. Stopped in on a Tuesday. Service is typically above par. The bill was decent. Feels similar to a restaurant in Philadelphia that I enjoyed visiting.
Okay. Expensive though.
The bulgogi and beef steak are great! Very cozy, homey place for some ayce kbbq
Yeah it's really mean all you can eat with different not much but basic Korean BBQ. Absolutely a good choice
This was my first AYCE Korean BBQ restraunt and I had a great time, they had a good selection of meats, pork belly, marinated ribs (galbi), bulgogi, steak, beef liver, side dishes, soups and stews. The charcoal grill was awesome, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Be prepared for some run down decor but I'm willing to look past that when you have a great meal and fun experience with a group, and for 24$ per person you can't go wrong.
Great place. Refined selection of Korean bbq staples, like galbi and balogi, with other Korean offerings like kimchi et al. Cozy space with an intimate dining option. BYOB, no corkage fee. Lovely buffet experience.
I love myself some Korean BBQ And this is probably the best one I found so far in Chicago price range.
Nice AYCE spot!!
It's good and not pricy! In general it is 3 star, but for the price I give 4 star!
Really disappointed when you show up when it opens but they tell you you have to wait until 12
I can’t find a word to describe how delicious it is. My mouth is full of meat now.
Great selection of vegan, vegetarian, and traditional Korean BBQ options. Buffet items consistently replenished. Most gracious, helpful staff! BYOB. Will be back!
Worst customer service ever and there buffet is horrible and they dont have that many food to serve you with and not that much food at the buffet either they just rip you off never eat there .
They migh changed the owner. Food not fresh like before.
This place is hands down the best for all you can eat Korean bbq. Been many times and staff are always attentive to your coals and keep the buffet loaded up. Love it!
worst buffet Run far away from here! horrible food and horrible service and you might see a mouse run across your feet while your eating
Saw an ad on KBC, and it looked like a good deal and it was!
You're gonna leave smelling charcoal
음식들이 넘 후레시하지않아 금방 나와버렸다....고긴 넘 질기고...다신 가고싶지 않음
They lady who worked/maybe owns the place was very nice we didn't know how to grill so she helped us our entire visit which I thought was pretty cool of her, also its byob!!!! The rice cakes weren't good at all!! yuck. Though the bulgolgi made up for it ten folds! It was very delicious! The pork ad chicken were ok as well. The glass noodles were not very good either don't know if they had been sitting a while or what but not very good. I would still go back though, it was a good experience.
This is my go-to place for all you can eat Korean bbq. The prices are reasonable for ayce, the meat is tasty, and they have a buffet for the sides. There's never been many people when I've gone, so it's a quiet place. The owners are nice though, and the grills are in "rooms" so you get some privacy. Overall, a really solid place for ayce.
Most of the meat was frozen and more brown than fresh. Also grill isn't big at all. Owner was nice at first but when it came to pay she was more annoyed for some reason. Only thing good was the ribs and they were a 5/10.
If you're gonna come here, be prepared to grill your own food if you're gonna eat the buffet. Definitely more than worth the $22 for all you can eat 12 out of 10 would happily put myself into a food coma again
Wonderful. Great location God food great price. Love the small family business
Awesome Korean bbq. Tastes good. Staff is nice. It’s all you can eat and BYOB
Really good experience here. Toilets are nearly always occupied.
Awesome spot
$24 for all you can eat korean bqq, the bulgogi beef is probably the best thing there. On a open fire grill, bring a sweater for the booth rooms they get cold.
Great food, great service.
Few choices of meat and sides...
Cute place with a friendly grandma who helps you with the bbq.
The food was available and seemed mostly fresh. The bulgogi was very good and the staff did assist with the grill a few times.
(Translated by Google) good to eat (Original) 好吃
Great all you can eat Korean BBQ but not much ambience, if that's your thing.
Food is good but not really all you can eat. They will stop refilling the meat when they think you had enough. Then they would only refill when new customers come. My stomach got upset every time I ate here. One of my friends had upset stomach here too, but not everyone had it. Don't know if it was caused by hygiene.
All you can eat Korean BBQ and the food tastes fresh. Staff is extremely nice. 5/5
Although the furniture and overall environment feels kind of cheap, the food is pretty decent (great value at all you can eat). Service is friendly and will be eager to help you out if you don't know how k-bbq works.
Great bbq
Went here for my birthday day November 2nd. It was great while there was an older Korean woman who took care of us. The food was amazing i had a good time.
I always go here and it never disappoints
For the value, service, and family run business, got to support Song Do Kalbi! Very friendly owner and staff, the marinade is consistently good, and the value is where it's at!
Worst BBQ in my life ever! I was expecting an authentic Korean BBQ, as written in a review 2 years ago, but the BBQ sauce is kinda Mexican rather than any kind of Asian. And the meats are too frozen and not marinated properly. Long story in short, DON"T GO!
Best Korean BBQ I ever had in my life. The kalbi is amazing. Do yourself a favor and go when you're starving to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat buffet.
One of my preferred spots for tasty Korean food. I'll return friends next time. The bill was average for the menu.
nice place
There was no heat on a cold day, food was ok but felt really shady
