REVIEWS OF S.K.Y. IN Illinois

Charles Anderson

Extremely friendly professional service complimented exceptional food. Even the iced tea was special. It was an amazing experience, that was at the same time very chill. I absolutely would recommend as a must visit to any friends traveling to Chicago.

Joe Bartolotta

Amazing atmosphere, staff, service and food. The best Pilsen has to offer.

Jessica Stanton

Honestly one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Every single plate of food was memorable, the maine lobster dumplings and organic fried chicken were two of my favorites. In addition to the food the service was also top notch, our server Lauren as well as all of the rest of the wait staff was very attentive and kind. As far as drinks go I did stick primarily to sake but the selection there in variety and quality was a treat. I dont live in Chicago though when I do come back I will be making it a point to come back.

Noelle-Marie Mulqueen

Several of the small plates can be made vegan for the table to share. There was only one vegan main option on the menu (modified bimibap) when I went, and sorbet as the vegan dessert.

Mark Anthony White

AMAZING! Meal was delicious, well put together and served in a timely fashion

Erik Hampe

Went for my birthday dinner this year and it was fantastic!

Tom Carter

Excellent food and drink. I enjoyed every aspect of my experience here and will be coming back.

Jessica Amaro

I went with a friend when it first opened and was very pleased. We had a few of the appetizers and I had the chicken dish. I love LOVE the corn madelines!!! The drinks were great too. Definitely a must try in Pilsen.

Roberta R

Outstanding food! Great service! Absolutely loved this place. Nice to have you in our neighborhood ❤️

Jordan Wear

Fantastic food experience! Each course was wonderfully thought out, the staff exudes pride over the food, and the specials.... soo good.

Brian Holstein

Elevated dim sum. Pork belly and sunny frittata is excellent. So is the beef noodle soup. Everything is well balanced and tasty

Arthur Carvajal

Attractive venue for a cocktail or dinner in the southwest part of town. I was here for a wedding reception and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Angela Bell

Delicious Food, Great Atmosphere, Excellent customer service

Jesse Badger

Really nice space, really friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a really good dim sum style brunch. I'd definitely recommend it and am planning to come back for dinner.

Michelle Herndon

Truly a wonderful experience from the warm welcome upon arrival to the great service throughout our meal to the delicious food. I would highly recommend this most hospitable restaurant!

Dan Nemeth

So good! I came with my girlfriend for our 3 year anniversary on Friday around 530. It looked very busy so I recommend making a reservation. We ordered a few drinks to start and had the croquettes, lobster dumplings, shishito peppers, fried chicken and the short rib. The fried chicken was the star of the show, it was like an upscale Buffalo fried chicken. Short rib was good not amazing. Lobster dumplings and croquettes were very tasty. The service was GREAT - Lauren was amazing. Very attentive and had great recommendations. I'm very glad we came here.

Anthony McPhee

Thanks to my travels and background, I considered myself very humble and knowledgeable when reflecting on dining. The name of the restaurants says a lot..... This place has Pretentious clientele. Pretentious and small menu portions and prices are over exaggerated AND Pretentious, e.g. 4 to 6 ounces (1 piece) of Fried chicken and corn garnish, for $19.00; really. The 3 stars is for the old school service techniques and customer service.

Hamed Mirzamani

Simply put, deserves to be on your list.

Jaime Arellano

Good food on the smaller portion but that's ok. Prices are fair and our server was a class act he gave us a brief description of the meals/ recommendations and was attentive.

Tracy Maclean

From the moment we walked in bartender Roberto made us feel very welcome... Feeling a bit under the weather, it was no problem to make me a hot toddy! Patrick served us our incredible meal explaining what our palates may expect and we were not disappointed ! FYI The vegetable side dish of potatoes and truffle dip would make an excellent appetizer ... The wine list was extremely interesting and well priced. Service went above and beyond when these two fifty something ladies from Suburbia, were trying to get a cab back to our car in the city...Patrick gently suggested Uber to us which was met with our blank looks and some confused efforts to download the App- still uncertain we asked for them to just call a cab- they did more than call a cab- escorting us to a livery car to take us back to our car! Now that's service!!!

Patrick Quinn

This restaurant is absolutely phenomenal, especially now that they are serving liquor in-house (while remaining BYOB!). Small plates, great for sharing, with an atmosphere that cool and relaxed at the same time. The service stood out most to me, with everyone constantly checking in on us as we dined to see if we had any needs and ensure our experience was going well.

Joe Scanlan

S.K.Y. is very good. Absolutely worth the trip from downtown. Decor is very hip. The food is excellent. Drink options, whether you want, beer, wine or cocktails are flavorful and interesting. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Very highly recommended.

Wendy Tan

Enjoyed every single dish we ordered. They pride themselves in their sauces as well. Great ambiance and service!

Tyler Jones

Food is way too overpriced for 4oz servings

Victoria Sterling

Fabulous place go now! Eat everything. It's all awesome.

maria c barrera

Customer service was amazing...staff spectacular well knowledge!! Favorite spot in Pilsen.

Maxwell Schulz

Fantastic flavors

Drew Jones

The food and ambiance was unbelievable. I highly recommend the brunch! However service was poor and very slow!

Ankit Modi

Amazing experience! We were accommodated at the Chef's Table with late notice on a Friday night and had a wonderful 6 course meal for only $49pp! Head Chef Gillanders was very warm and welcoming and even took a picture with us! Chef Tatum makes wonderful desserts! Santiago provided amazing service! And Charlie, the sommelier, was helpful and delightful to talk to! Honestly one our favorite restaurant experiences in Chicago. We will definitely come back.

Wesley Muirheid

Mushroom salad was ridiculously good and the fried chicken is some of the best I have had in the city.

Otto Freiberg

One of my absolute favorite places to eat in Chicago. Staff are very friendly, the food is great, and the drinks are fantastic.

Jordan Proctor

A favorite location for quality american food. One of the best spots of its kind in the area. The service here is attentive. This place has a cool design.

Jeffrey Weiss

Attentive service, excellent food. Have eaten here twice now and would definitely recommend.

Grayson VanderLinde

Still amazing.

Daniel K

Beautiful place, wonderful menu, I will be back and attempt to try all the food at some point.

Moe Kazemi

Dinner was great but brunch was different experience

Debbie Jang

Absolutely delicious and great service. Definitely lives up to it's reputation as one of the hottest and best new restaurants in Chicago!

Paa A

Chill fine dining restaurant with good drinks as well.

Jenn Rynkiewicz

What a find! Came for Saturday brunch and am so impressed. I wish I'd taken food pictures. The 3 course brunch for $28 has great options and the a la cart items are not to be missed either. Our menu: Bao buns with salted butter & seasonal jam (apricot I think) Complimentary tastings of cornbread Madeleine, fried bao (like French toast), and pistachio donut hole type item. THESE WERE ALL INCREDIBLE. Him: Miiataki mushrooms with goat cheese Spicy deviled eggs Chicken with creamed corn Me: Cucumber salad Beef noodle soup Coconut pancakes Everything was wonderful. The pancakes, while a main dish, was a perfect dessert. We also were taken into the kitchen to meet Stephen. What a nice guy. We will be back so much!

Malory Thelen

I highly recommend this place for a bit more laid back "fancy" restaurant experience. I loved the foie gras bibimbap and the fried chicken. We went before they had their liquor license, so it was fun bringing our own bottle! The service was great, and there was a mix of couples and larger groups (and even a couple children).

Cindy Nguyen

1. Space: Atmosphere was nice—not too loud or busy when we were there (Easter Sunday @ 6pm). Fancy feeling (with all the velvet) but not overly so. 2. Service: I liked that when the wait staff member came over to welcome us and give us water, he noticed the table was wobbly and stopped to fix it before pouring our water. Our waiter was Gina and she was great—attentive but not over bearing. Since it was my birthday dinner, but we were way too full for cake, we asked if she thought any of the desserts were something we could take to go for later. She said unfortunately nothing was very to-go-friendly but if we liked, some sorbet or ice cream might be light enough if we were too full. We said it was okay but she ended up bringing some out anyway! With a candle and everything. It was light in flavor but so fragrant with just a little sweetness (pistachio); perfect imo. Made me forget how full I was. 3. Food: They started us out with their amuse bouche which was an edamame mousse that was sooo creamy and flavorful. It was on a puffed rice cracker and the mixture of texture was spot on. We ordered the himachi and the croquettes for small plates and seriously could not stop saying wow after each bite. Next up was the roasted root veggies—this was very good but I think we were so wowed by the amuse bouche and the small plates that this seemed not as impressive. This salad was more substantial than we had anticipated so it made us a little too full before our main course came out. I’d say this is better for 3 or more people. For our main course, we got the beef short rib and the fried chicken. Both were tasty but if I had to choose, I’d go for the fried chicken. It was very very good. The corn... honestly my favorite part of that dish actually. 5. Overall my favorite dish was definitely the himachi. There were 4 pieces and only two of us dining so we each ate 2–I could have eaten 10. So if there are more than 2 of you, I think it’d be worth ordering more than one of these. I think I wanna try the Sea bass next time. Pro tip: bring a lactaid.

Justin Bell

I tried four of the desserts last night...this is officially the best dessert menu in Chicago! (The mains and apps are great too)

Konstantin Tarnorutskiy

Went here for a birthday and we were blown away by the experience. We weren't expecting much at first but the reviews convinced us to go. We will not be returning every season to try their different menu's.

Rene Mayo

I was visiting my son and daughter-in-law and it is our tradition to eat somewhere nice on the last night. This was by far the best meal in the 9 years. Fantastic food (I recommend the salmon) and relaxing atmosphere. We never felt rushed and the staff was very attentive. We will come back again.

A L

Great service, ambience, food. Highly recommend it to everyone. Only bad thing was The bibimbap. It was too salty... will avoid getting it next time.

Mark Peacock

Had the tasting menu for a party of 6. Great food; very reasonable price for the amount of food. No one left hungry.

rostislav Kislyuk

The best restaurant I ever had

Scott Hwang

Enjoyed the food. There are many good restaurants in Chicago but the food here had it's own style rather than just being great tasting. The deserts were delicious too.

Ed Coombs

Fantastic experience at this place. I’ll warn you ahead of time, the place, from the outside is unassuming, with a very small sign. But once you’re inside , it is an experience. Highly recommended by a good friend and former chef, I knew this would be an experience and it was. We were brought several appetizers, as recommended by the head chef. They included many dishes I would normally not try, including lobster/ shrimp dumplings in a lemon butter sauce, mushroom / goat cheese salad, and many others Entrees were also out of this world, tasted sea bass, fresh fried chicken breast , and others. Besides the great food are the prices. Honestly, a couple can go out , have a drink and multiple course meal for $100, or less. These types of places are rare in a metropolitan setting so take advantage of it.

Lisa Landsman

Delicious! Great space as well.

Chris Kowalewski

Great accomidating service

Michael Newkirk

Lots of shareables! Lots of familiar favorites with an eclectic flair. Some flavor combinations will surprise you others will blow your mind. Specialty crafted cocktails are also delicious.

Jan Ellestad

Super delicious.

Eddie Moreno

Great spot for special occasion. No liquor license as of 12/28/2017. Table seating roomy. Staff trained extremely well. Appetizers were outstanding and actually better than meal.black truffle croquettes outstanding. Prawn toast was delicious. Maine lobster dumpling fresh . sad part prime rib short rib and hanger steak good but lacking in quantity. Ba. Desserts all great tart, cheesecake ,and banana budino were awesome but small.. If portion size moves up a bit i can see SKY as the new in spot.

Stephen Dix

Went for brunch. Excellent food. Small plates. These guys know what they're doing

Kim Love

Loved everything about it!!! The reviews in Redeye paper pulled me in and I decided to try!!!! Oh My GAWD!! Service impeccable. Santiago, my server, was superb! He introduced us to the very young ,handsome chef extraordinaire. What a cool guy! Made mention that we, the older couple

Mike Edelstein

We had a total of seven dishes and they were are so delicious and interesting! And informed service! Please go here, especially while they are still BYOB!

David Healey

Vettel was right: this place deserves a Michelin star

Todd Borisy

The food and drinks were excellent and served professionally with an explanation of what was in each dish and a recommendation as to how to best enjoy them. I would recommend the lobster dumplings and the Foie Gras Bibimbap. Wow!

Mike Taibleson

Unbelievable experience, my friends told me it was amazing, I didn’t believe them and I was proven wrong. Excellent service, food, drinks, the works!!! As you can tell from my profile picture, I am a panda from southern Tibet. I gave up my all bamboo diet just to eat here. Also, I’m now a carnivore, make sure to order the fried chicken!!!

J K

The best meal I've had in years. We leaned heavily on our knowledgeable server for guidance and were blown away from start to finish. I'm already looking for an excuse to return!

Josh Meister

One of my favorite restaurants in the entire city. From the innovative cocktails to the fantastic food, this spot is worth the treck to Pilsen (assuming you live semi far). After our outstanding meal the chef invited us back in the kitchen to show us how it’s all done. Super nice, humble guy. 5 stars!

Angel Perez

We had a family style dinner, the staff was extremely attentive and the dinner was fantastic!!

BARILLAS LARA MARIA IRENE

Great food... we order 5 or 6 plates to share.. some spicy others not so.. you need a reservation!

elizabeth finlay

Pedro A. Vignettes

First class Chefs, delicious dinner (special occasions) $$

Ata Berkol

What an incredible experience. Reserved a table for 2. Food so delicious and modern you can't stop talking about the taste while eating. Fast and pleasant service. Waiters even compensated for a tiny delay(which I thought was acceptable) with free drinks. Open kitchen to meet the chef. 10/10 experience.

Melissa Blank

Excellent food, wine, and service! Black truffle croquettes & hamachi sashimi were fantastic! We ate all appetizers & desserts and had a wonderful variety of small plates. Bonus: the chef allowed us to duck into the kitchen to watch briefly and say hello. Busy place with dedicated, friendly staff! Loved it!

Gary Solovyov

We came here for brunch and loved it! The server was very friendly and did a great job with his recommendations. We were given some complementary donuts and cornbread to start and thought they were amazing. Everything was so flavorful and presented like a work of art. I highly recommend the fried chicken, the dry rub they used was made it taste so savory with a little kick to it. The ambiance was great, you felt like you were dining at a friend's loft apartment.

James D'Angelo

I loved this place. Food is incredible and unique. Drinks are delicious and unusual. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Went here for a Chowhound event and was blown away with how much I liked it. I'll definitely be going back.

Andrew Page

If you eat before or after going, it's great. If you're expecting to get full here, don't. Great food tiny portions.

Jose Velez

Been here for brunch and dinner. Great service all around and the food was fantastic. Has not missed a beat. Highly recommended.

Joseph E Chase

Marvelous restaurant. Went for dinner with wine, appetizers & dessert with four people, and every single item was fabulous (don’t miss the potato side, or truffle croquette appetizer). Service was great, the room is attractive urban chic, and the overall cost very reasonable.

Clements Johnson

Fantastic dinner here tonight made all the better by our lovely Serbian waitress (Sorry we forgot your name). Each dish was delicious. Highlights were the cornbread, to our surprise. The lamb ribs and lobster were full of flavor. Great atmosphere and service. Oh and the Italian bombolocini were out of this world.

Megan Odenthal

Nice atmosphere, fun date night spot and amazing cocktails. However, our food was hit-or-miss and our server was actively rude and inattentive, which was upsetting! He might have just been having a bad day but kind of ruined the meal to feel him taking it out on us.

john jara

Great selection of wine and ambiance. The staff was impeccable. Thank you for a great service and attention for my friends birthday.

Charles Rushing

Patrick our server was personable..and effective in his service. The Mediterranean Seabass..delicious.

Tiffany Moy

A neighborhood gem in Pilsen. We came for the Saturday “dim sum” tasting menu. I’ll call it dim sum very very loosely because it is NOT Chinese dim sum. That being said, the food was very good and we were SO FULL when we left. We were seated right by the kitchen and go to see the chefs at work. The drinks were very good as well. I would go back to try their dinner menu, though for price, their brunch menu is by far superior.

Gordon Somerville

This has been one of our favourite Door County restaurants for 17 years. Great menu, excellent food and outstanding service. Just wish they would take reservations, that would make the Greenwood Supper Club almost flawless..!!!

Aaron Covert

Amazing

Cassius Wright

Truly excellent food and service. A very well designed restaurant with simplicity and elegance. The menu is inventive, varied, and well executed. Chef is a very talented individual indeed.

Starane Shepherd

Came by for dinner when it opened promptly at 5 and had a very memorable meal. The service is impeccable and the food is divine. Great spot for a special night out.

TEE BEE

Secret gem! All around great. Atmosphere, service, menu selection, drinks, dessert, music. Entire kitchen staff involved with your order. Knowledgeable and engaging. Presentation is outstanding!

Benjamin D. Cohen

Before we even got there, S.K.Y. had already given me a 5 star experience. I had missed my reservation and they were able to accommodate me an hour later. The food was incredible! They were able to do a custom tasting menu for us and we added on a few items. The fried chicken is a must have, as well as the Cornbread Madeleines. The dessert was also amazing, the cheesecake and the banana budino! The wait staff is also amazing! We even got to meet Chef Gillanders! 5/5 - we will definitely be back!

Donna Campbell

My favorite restaurant. Period. And Chloe, Budd & Roberto are serious about their fancy cocktails. What is my favorite? Bibimbap for dinner and Bourbon Sour for the drink!

Howard Weiner

Innovative menu, Great service, a real value

Bailey Pagadala

Beyond an amazing experience. We sat at the chefs table for dinner and got to witness the kitchen in action. Rarely have I seen such a clean, organized, rythmic and harmonious machine. The entire crew was on point, down to earth and cheery as they churned out dish after dish, food truly fit for royalty.

Ama Addai

Cool space. Welcoming/knowledgeable service. The food was great!!!

David Ortiz

One of my new favorite finds! Foie Gras on top of Bibimbap! Wow! Korean fusion done very well!!

Bridget Plesich

This was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! The food was amazing especially the mushroom app! Even if you dont like mushrooms, you have to order this dish! You will fall in love! The shrimp and lobster dumplings were so yummy! All meat and a very light dumpling to hold it all together. The chicken and short rib, amazing! Great wine list too! Sat in the lounge area and received perfect service that made you feel so special even on a Saturday night! Every person who stopped by the table were extremely nice and knowlegable about all of the food. Great vibe and beautiful space. Can't wait to go back!

Griselda Herrera

OMG! FROM BEGINNING TO END... DELICIOUS! EXCELLENT SERVICE. PATRICK, WE ARE DEFINITELY COMING BACK. Shaunice, thanks for the recommendations. This establishment was Top Chef PERFECTION!

Teresa Wheeler

Marizza Romero

Heaven on earth! Most delightful dishes , packed with so much robust flavor! Amazing wine selections as well!

Julie Schimmel

After moving to Chicago from New York we have been searching for a restaurant that made us walking out wanting more. Everything and everyone at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic. While the food was above and beyond what we expected we were able to try dishes that we otherwise would have avoided because our waitress was patient and attentive and spent the time to explain each dish. Patrick also took the time to talk with us and suggest a phenomenal dessert that would have been missed. Thank you SKY chefs and staff for a wonderful date night restaurant.

Kelsey Fitzpatrick

Very hip. Wonderful staff, excellent food (with a fun menu), and nice wine list. Def want to go back.

Mike McEvilly

Chloe makes fantastic drinks. Tasty and inventive food from the kitchen. Friendly all around. Great new addition to the neighborhood!

Tamara Cuba

An amazing, phenomenal treat. Excellent service and atmosphere and the food is truly unique, flavorful and unforgettable.

Sandra Gordon

What a way to start the New Year. We had been to Intro several times and had Chef Gillanders amazing food. We couldn't wait to try his new place in Pilson. We brought friends and we all had one of the best meals ever. The food is inventive, creative and absolutely delicious! I dream about those lobster dumplings! And the sea bass and fried chicken are the best ever. We can't wait to go back. The ambience is beautiful and cozy. You can actually have a conversation and the service is excellent. Will make another reservation now!

Nyesha Kemp

I love the ambiance here! The food was excellent!

Mike Greenstone

Delicious food (especially the madeleines and croquettes). Make a reservation!

Tom Dominikowski

Incredible experience. Extraordinary food, impeccable service, a great atmosphere, ambiance and location. You will love it. They encourage to share the starters and the appetizers, the mains are rather individual portions. Can't wait to go back.

Pedrom Rejai

Absolutely fantastic food. A great variety of flavors and textures. Lobster dumplings were great, the short rib was the best of the three dishes we ordered. Service was great, and they had great recommendations as we asked a lot of questions. The decoration is appropriately understated as this place is all about the food. In my opinion, under priced, considering how delicious it is. Come hungry and order lots We did get to meet the owner, and he was super nice and a great personal touch. Welcome to the neighborhood, S.K.Y. I have a feeling you'll be around for a while.

David Tax

Amazing dinner. Food was delicious and quite reasonable. Don't miss out on the corn bread or fried chicken with the best creamed corn ever. Not only that but it's still byob on a Sunday meaning you can pair your meal with a great wine without breaking the bank.

Bonnie Mayol

Nice ambiance and attentive wait staff. I had the foie gras appetizer with pumpkin and sesame seeds. I felt the pumpkin seeds should have been pureed because it was a hard consistency with the pate. Instead of 2 little slices of toast with the pate, it should be four. I also had the foie gras bibimbap entree that was very good but was disappointed that there was no fried egg. The peach ice cream was house made and good.

Cassandra Tulipano

Everything was fabulous! The nicest people and the food was exquisite. Best meal we've all had in a very long time!

Monay Aguilar

This place was amazing!I had dinner here with my mom and the service was impeccable. All of our plates boomed with flavor! The scallops were my favorite, and my mom loved the short rib that was so soft it easily cut with a fork! The fried potatoes and truffle dipping sauce were so delicious as well! Definitely coming back soon to try more of the menu and the dessert!Perfect place for date night!

Julieta Campos

Amazing food and service

Irina Nastic

I was stoked to have my wedding anniversary brunch there after so much hype surrounding the place.Their menu looked amazing and I couldn’t wait to finally go there!Little did I know I was in for a disappointment. First of all our waitress took forever to even acknowledge the fact we were seated in her area, then she took forever to take our order.Which I get it it’s a busy Sunday, but then I saw the pattern...We were the only table of 2 in her area,so obviously - bigger parties = bigger tips.We ordered many things to share and then pancakes to top it all off.Well, the pancakes arrived first, oh well mix ups happen but then a few things we ordered and were very excited about never arrived and we were waiting, waiting for a long time and nothing. We were done with our drinks - were not asked if we’d like more which we did.The food was ok, but what a massive disappointment that place.I honestly would’ve rather eaten at H-Mart Food court on Jackson that day. Bye sky.Never going back.

Manny Santos

This was our first experience and I must say the overall atmosphere, menu and spirit listings, which promoted a lot of local Chicago distilleries like the "Blind Tiger", was phenomenal! Our party of six was blown away by the kitchen and staff for providing a 5 + quality service that would normally be seen on the Mag Mile, yet services the Pilson community - truly a hidden treasure. To see and hear the ambiance of the restaurant packed with a very diversed crowd of all ages, socializing and drinking amongst family and friends is amazing, brings the neighborhood closer together. Hats off to my Filipino brethren Stephen and his team. Keep up the great work, never sacrifice quality over quantity and never forget what Lola thought you in the kitchen! Lol Definitely coming back for more date nights!

JoAnn Welch

Really delicious food. The waitress was very helpful and answered all our questions in detail. They have appetizers, salads, entrees, and vegetables to choose from. For 3 people, we did 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 entrees, 1 vegetable, and shared 3 desserts which seemed to be a good amount of food. Everything was out of this world, especially the lobster dumplings.

Noah Berland

Sky was amazing, really affordable, and some of the friendliest stay I've ever had

Thomas Chen

Tried pretty much everything from their dim sum menu. Many dishes were very thoughtful and original. A few were quite good, but some seemed a bit ordinary (like the pickled cucumber that seemed like a standard Korean ban chan). Still each bite was properly seasoned and presented. Fried chicken, croquettes, coconut pancakes, and that basket of amuse pastries were delightful! Desserts were simple, but again very well executed.

Wes Lowman

I love this place! The first thing that stood out to me was the stunning design. Our servers were great, and the food was unbelievable. After tasting multiple dishes on more than one occasion, there isn't a single item that I wouldn't order again. Be sure to order the lobster dumplings, the roasted root vegetable salad, and the banana budino!

Anahi Perez

Attentive service and diverse wine list. Flavor combinations are entertaining.

Eamon Duede

The food was nice and echoed the neighborhood in an honest way. Bad start, however, as the host sat in a chair ignoring is as he played with his phone. Upon learning of our reservation, he asked us to wait until his "colleague could show us to our seat" in a fairly empty room...

Michael Kies

Great experience across a four person group. Between all of us we ordered 8 dishes, not including dessert. Every single dish was great - flavors, textures and portion sizes were perfect. We will certainly be coming back.

sara mostofi

Fantastic service and the Prix Fixe was SO yummy! I love that I was able to customize a little, added a couple of dishes, but overall, very, very tasty!!

Mika Schweizer

Had the most incredible time here for a birthday celebration. Patrick took care of us and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He truly made the experience special and one not to forget. We ended up even meeting the chef. The food was of high quality with intricate flavors. Very impressive, highly recommend. We will surely be back.

John Lee

Amazing contemporary American restaurant with global and Asian influences. Excellent service and value. Everything was delicious but the highlights were the lobster dumplings and the Foie Gras Bibimbop. Love this place! Highly recommend.

Brittany Eslary

Wonderful ambiance, friendly staff, and one of the most delicious and unique menus in the whole city.

Christian Beck

Awesome food and excellent friendly service. Very reasonable prices, came in with 4 friends and we left stuffed having spent only $48 a piece for 9 dishes + coffee (but no alcohol as BYOB when we went). Be sure to get the potato crisps, lobster dumplings, root salad, and the cheesecake!

Philip Mesina

I love their weekend brunch!

Jiratt Phonlapat

Good over all. Exceptional services from ours server. I'm enjoy drinking and having desserts here more than anything because here have the most comfort chair in the city excellent drinks and desserts menu. Must try duck confit, so tender crispy skin with amazing glaze.

Cary Claver

Top quality gourmet cooking

Ralph Senst

Great food, great experience

Jeff Song

S.K.Y. is a true gem of the city. I was a fan of Chef Gillanders when he was at Intro, and so I was optimistic about this experience when I booked a table. In a time where Asian fusion is still a thing, S.K.Y. delivers on moderation by mixing in Asian and Korean flavors with a delicate balance. My favorites of the night included the short rib with it's crisp exterior and tender interior and the fried chicken that retained it's juiciness while having that crunch factor we all crave from a good fried bird. Service was good, but still needs some work before it's considered to be Michelin Star territory. But the execution on the food and the overall menu is inspired and I wholly recommend a visit - and multiple visits to try the menu as the seasons change.

Arnold Jirasek

Truly excellent. Careful and thoughtful preparation. Distinctive flavors and textures. All around a delightful surprise. I look forward to my next meal at S.K.Y.

Q Heinrichs

Gluten free options were wonderful!

Rachel Letizia

Get the cornbread, fried chicken and Rugoso dessert!

Bill Lewis

Attention to detail and presentation was only matched by the taste. Really well done and easy to enjoy.

Gwen Eder

The staff and food were both amazing! I had made a reservation on OpenTable and noted that we were celebrating a birthday, so we were offered seats at the chefs window. It was a really cool experience, and the brunch menu was to die for!! Definitely get the short rib hash and coconut pancakes - but honestly it was all amazing! Would definitely come back here.

Pat Roszkowski

Tonight we took a friend out for her birthday to another foodie restaurant. Since my husband will not go out for these type of restaurants I go with my friends. The parking is not easy since the area is getting very trendy. My dad grew up a block away and back then it was a poor parish driven ethnic neighborhood. The service started out good and we saw the food ordered next to us looked awesome. It was the short ribs and chicken. We ordered all items at once as instructed. As the meal went on the service got a little weaker and by the time the mushroom salad and dinners came the portions were half of our next door table. We also waited an hour for the entree and salad. Not sure if I would go back since it looked like they were running out of food and cut ours in half !! A little pricey too except for the entrees.

The food was great but the service, mainly from our waiter, was very bad. From the start when I asked what brands of Gin they had he stated "we don't have brands, only distilleries". When he couldn't recall the names of the distilleries, he abruptly left, then returned with the list of spirits. After placing our food order he didn't come back until I asked a host to get our waiter, I had received my main dish, so I could order a wine to go with my dish. The rest of the staff was very attentive, unfortunately, the waiter was not. I still recommend S.K.Y. for the incredible food. And I've usually had great service here, but this time, it was sub-par.

Service was spectacular, very accommodating team. Food was delicious with creative presentation.

Delicious food, amazing service and a kitchen that invites anyone interested in to take a peek. Another Pilsen must visit!!

So, anniversary date ruined. Service: below average. Why? As a culinary professional, I dislike when you hire a busser and the person has never saw or tried the food, yes, I talk with the person that serves the water. The waitstaff was ok, my server was very busy and she never came to check on the main entree. Yes, you check, ask how is your food?etc. So the food! Then my order came, Scottish Salmon, but they should name it, Salmon Tataki, the fish was cold and raw inside. Again, had to ask a busser to bring me the server after my wife was almost done. In compensation, I got two corn madeleines Yay! Then they return the same fish as if they toss it in the broiler. Dry and over cooked. Also the server said in "scolding tone" we serve it rare. Yeah, I am going to eat farmed salmon rare. When a plate gets returned, you don't microwave it or toss it in the broiler. This is Chicago and for a 25 bucks salmon it should be properly cook, not raw but juicy pink. I heard mixed reviews at the when Sky oppened but as now restaurants pay a lot in marketing to make it "trendy", but the food to was overly expensive and inflated yet not great quality. Chicago had so much better Asian fusion in the price range like Sunda or Embeya.

I absolutely love this place. I went on a date and they had such tremendous service, ambiance, and dinner. We didn't have a reservation but they were still able to get us a table on a Friday night without a crazy long wait. Everyone was so attentive, despite the place being packed. I think this will be my new favorite dinner spot

First off, let me state that the food is why I eat out. Even when I go someplace "down market" I still expect that the food to be "good" (for a certain value of good). In that way S.K.Y. absolutely does not disappoint. Every dish we had, and that was quite a few, was top notch. All of them were flavorful and well presented. Second off, let me state that we went there for a Sunday brunch, so the menu choices were somewhat restricted and the timing of our visit may explain some of the other issues we had. What cost them a star from me was the service, but not all of the service (interestingly). Unusually, as far as I could tell the kitchen had its own waitstaff. The dishes were delivered to the table in top condition and explained in a careful, informative way. But the room staff let the side down. It took forever (well, more than 30 minutes) to just place our orders. Our water glasses went unfilled and my coffee cup (Sunday brunch) was not ever even noticed. Empty plates piled up on the table and we had to request that new serving plates be brought. Our "server" was hardly ever present, and even when she was she seemed to ignore us. Now, as I said, "Sunday brunch", so we may not have been (probably weren't) dealing with the first team. But for a restaurant that is clearly shooting for "upscale", this level of service simply won't do. I feel a bit odd giving a less than 5-star rating to a place that served me so much excellent food, but there it is. S.K.Y. is more than a bit of a haul for us (we were meeting somebody who lives close to there) so it is not a place we are likely to revisit often. And assuming that you are (as we were) driving there, be warned that parking is more that a little problematic. There are quite a few "Neighborhood Parking Sticker Only" areas on the side streets and there is hardly ever anything on 18th. But the main message I want to convey is that I thoroughly enjoyed the food we got and don't regret the visit in any way.

Overall the food was really good. The scallops were phenomenal! Service was outstanding as well. Price was great.

My family went here for my sister's birthday. We brought in our own cake (I don't think we got charged any fee for this). Food and service were fantastic. One of my sisters has a dietary restriction which she made our waitress aware of. The waitress checked with the chef on a couple of the dishes my sister asked about and the chef made it exactly how my sister requested. We started off with some drinks. My sister and bro-in-law had the Sesame and I had the Dirty Dee which were both good. Food wise was all sharing plates. We started off with the hamachi sashimi, which I ended up ordering a second order of for the table since we all loved it. Also had the black truffle croquettes for an appetizer. We had the lobster dumplings, duck confit, organic fried chicken, prime beef short ribs, foie gras bibimbap, crispy mahi mahi and a side of crispy potatoes. Everything was delicious. The croquettes were perfectly fried on the outside and cheesy on the inside. Lobster dumplings had nice chunks of lobster in them. My stepdad loved the butter sauce that the dumplings were served with and asked for some bread to dip in the butter. The waitress brought out some fresh bread from a restaurant across the street which was super nice of her. My mom loved the short ribs. I think the mahi mahi was the only dish that kind of fell flat. It could have used more flavor. It's a laid back atmosphere in here which is nice sometimes. You don't have to be dressed up and in a stuffy atmosphere to enjoy great food. Street parking wasn't bad on the Sunday evening when we went. I'm sure it can get packed when there are concerts at Thalia Hall across the stress though.

Girls night out. Tasting menu plus Maine lobster dumplings. Excellent food and service. All staff are so nice. Chef Stephen is the nicest chef we've ever met. He is one talented chef!!

Food was incredible. Service was great. Can't even think of something that was wrong. Chicken and coconut soup appetizer and chocolate whiskey pie for dessert were my faves. But, ordered 5 dishes and 2 desserts and all were good. I can't wait to go back again.

Really great food and experience! With a 9p reservation we were promptly seated 10 minutes early. The temporary BYOB is a huge perk for early visitors, as it allowed us to try more food options in my opinion. Crispy potatoes w/ truffle dip, root salad, Brussels sprouts, green beans, scallops, and short rib were all amazing. Service went above and beyond with personal touches, great order guidance for a food allergy, and a greeting from the chef. A great add to this vibrant portion of Pilsen as a destination for an entire night filled with diverse spots.

Good food and drinks. Weird vibe going on with gentrification and all.

This place is everything you want in a resturant. The servers are amazing, they describe every dish like it's their favorite. The care and detail is impeccable. We came for brunch and loved it. I cant wait to go back for dinner. The BLT bao was the best. My friend had the short ribs and they just melted in your mouth. Loved the donuts/pastries served before the meal. It really set the tone for our dining experience. If you have never been here, go!

Excellent small and shareable plates, very friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff.

My favorite restaurant in Chicago. Food is always the best. Chef is always changing up the menu . Prices are reasonable.
