REVIEWS OF Shaw's Crab House IN Illinois

David Urschel

Fun with friends. Split the 5 pound lobster, it was good. Lobster just doesn't taste like it use to. Not as sweet or as tender. Everyone had a great meal. The oyster bar was also top notch and busy.

Cynthia Mcdaniel

Excellent spot for tasty crabs. I was so stuffed. There was quick, helpful, and friendly service. The place has a great feel to it.

Aaron Bollinger

Appetizers and side dishes were delicious, and the drinks were top notch. Neat atmosphere as well. The main dish, however (halibut) was just ok. Odd seasoning and many small bones in it. Wish I would have picked a different main course.

Jennifer Jones

Amazing, worth every penny!(And worth finding a parking spot for) Staff was so nice even tho we came in close to closing time, we where sat right away. Our waitress was pleasant and fantastic, food was incredible .

Erik Hampe

Wonderful family dinner tonight at Shaw's. Amber took great care of us and handled us with ease and we can be a bit to take. Look forward to visiting again and will definitely request Amber! Thanks for a lovely evening.

Josephine Kapcia

Steak was over cooked and cream brulee was not set. But they did comp the meal and desert. Very friendly. Good place for drinks.

Aaron Spengler

If you can afford it the food is phenomenal.

Bob Benson

One of the very best restaurants in Chicago...everything I've ever had there is delicious but especially fond of the Dungeness & Soft Shell Crab. Will always be a regular stop for me whenever I'm in Chicago!!!

Robin Kelley

The fresh halibut was incredible! We also enjoyed the iced seafood appetizer sampler. I highly recommend it!

Gary Eisen

This place is Great! I can't believe we haven't stopped in before. The oyster bar is fun!

Pricey but good quality

Michelle

I visit Chicago at least once a year and every time I go, I always have dinner at Shaw's. They have wonderful staff, great ambiance, and fantastic food. I've tried many different dishes and none of them have let me down. The scallops, oysters, and salmon are out of this world. Very classy place.

Shonna Turner

Very fresh, very good. Excellent atmosphere and service.

d gabelev

Strongly recommend. Ambiance and food

Tracey Strobel

Superb. Simply delightful. Incredible food, service was excellent. We had: crab cakes, seared tuna, fillet, lobster, brussel sprouts, lobster bisque, and chocolate cake for dessert. Manhattans to start and beers with dinner. Excellent selection. Will definitely come back next time we're in town.

Keith Puschinsky

The England Clam Chowder was best I've had in a long time. The Seafood Platter was very good. We loved the place.

Mark Denny

Excellent food, great service, music not too loud--pleasant ambiance.

David Urschel

Fun with friends. Split the 5 pound lobster, it was good. Lobster just doesn't taste like it use to. Not as sweet or as tender. Everyone had a great meal. The oyster bar was also top notch and busy.

Carol Dilbeck

Really stuffy place food not good for the price. Shaws in Schaumburg is much better

Cyndie Vandyke

We love the cold combination! And I had the whole snapper; the thai sauce is very spicy but good and my date had the halibut. Then we split a piece of raspberry pie with 2 scoops of ice cream. Lovely!

Josephine Gibbs

This place NEVER lets me down. Delicious food. Great service. Valet parking. We ordered their special (Seafood stew and oyster combo) and it was so fresh and delicious. Plenty of food and at the end they serve either fried rice or noodles. We ate like Queens last night. If you haven't tried this place you MUST!!!

Katy Lawrence

We went for Saturday brunch and it was amazing! It may seem pricey at $65/adult, but it's endless seafood and other breakfast and lunch items. Definitely worth it!

melanie saldana

Great service, yummy food and fun atmosphere. Husband and I came here on our trip to Chicago and we're so glad we did. Traditional old school seafood restaurants in San Francisco typically disappoint us. This place is an example of how to do it right. Feels special but isn't pretentious by any means. Solid food and outstanding service staff. Oysters, garlic shrimp and spicy shrimp sushi were my favorites.

Bryan Shoemaker

The food here is very good The buffet here is very very good. you can eat until you're pop or until you're full whichever you prefer. only downside when they're running the multiple stations it's a little hectic here from one end of the restaurant to another so make sure to load your plate up just enough that you won't spill. also if you're bringing younger kids double check to see what their pricing is as apparently on holidays they change the pricing without much notice on the website and only inform you when you're there.

Shikhar Chauhan

Very long wait for the food that was made up for by a very sweet server who gave us a meal gratis. Yellowfin tuna tacos (pictured below) were great

N K Nelson

Everything from perfectly done soft shell crab, to entire deep fried red snapper fish done essentially Asian style, to any range of grilled, fried, baked, deep-fried, or broiled, you're going to have an incredibly fresh experience here. The place is pricey but you're getting absolutely top quality and the large man you should not intimidate you because everything there is truly fresh and you see people ordering absolutely everything on that menu. The sides are something special and the creamed spinach is an absolute classic, as are the potatoes au gratin. It's just so dependably good that in a few dozen visits over the last 20-plus years, I can't think of a time that I've been disappointed in anything at Shaw's Crab House. And I'm pretty picky.

Mary Tutwiler

Me and my fiance went there for a date night it was great, but the soft crab didn't have a lot of meat. Great atmosphere. Will be going back to try other dishes.

David Wayne

Wow, what an excellent place. The food is simply amazing and the staff was damn near perfect. I had a party of 24 tonight and with all those people I still can't find a single bad thing to say about them or the food. If you like oysters, fish, crab, or lobster then you definitely need to stop by at this place!

Greg Murchison

Went back last week ..whole snapper out of this world..

Vernon Bein

Food was very good. Nice atmosphere and good music to listen to while eating.

William Cheaks

Great food And atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. Sunday brunch is awesome.!

Amanda McGrath

Shaw's is always amazing. The staff are so nice and willing to help. They always give good recommendations. I recommend the crab cakes. They are the best! And for dessert, the sampler. What is better than one of everything!

James Daniels

Outstanding sea food and great service

Paula Kelly

Came to celebrate my husband's birthday on Saturday March 23rd and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing brunch and would share our experience with all our friends and family. We will be returning again, Shaw's will be an always visited place by us when we come to Chicago to visit. We are from Cedar Rapids, Iowa and we have nothing like this here. Thank you for the great experience!!!

John Vyborny

Simply awesome food and service must have king Crab legs and lobster bisque and oysters

Elle Moe

Food was fantastic. Expensive but delicious. Service could have been better but they were busy.

LOParadise

Wonderful iconic seafood gem hidden down a side street in River North. The ambiance reminds me of old fashioned chop houses with wormwood red leather banquettes and multiple small rooms. The food was delicious, their clam chowder was so rich and flavorful. My whole red snapper was unbelievable and my husband's steak was cooked to perfection.

Gayle Hutchings

If you like variety then this is the place to go. Every item seemed fresh and food was constantly replenished. The eggs were unlike I've ever had very light and fluffy and delis! Bacon was premium cut. I couldn't have asked for anything else! I left a very satisfied customer. It was worth every penny.

A McGee

Wonderfully delicious food and amazing service! Could not ask for more. We were part of a big group but our waitress gave each of us personalized service. Wish I could remember her name. She was awesome! You must order a tower when you arrive! Great sampling of fresh seafood! Amazing!

Kari Cantrell

We had the most wonderful experience at Shaw's Crab House yesterday! I was absolutely blown away by the hospitality of the staff. We had a party of ten, and we were all thrilled with the quality and presentation of all appetizers, meals, and desserts. One of the best meals I've enjoyed in years. Highly recommend!

Gregory O'Laughlin

All about that Oyster Bar and the happy hour. Best place in the city for crab legs (Alaskan King Crab of course) but you can find better deals on oysters during happy hour in the city. Bust the raw oysters are legit.

Jonathan Bishop

Excellent place. Top notch service and great fresh food.

Nate K.

This place is great. We really enjoyed our experience here. The service was excellent and the seafood was some of the best we've all had. The king crab legs were the best crab I've ever had. Be prepared to spend some money

Chinmaya Poopal

Overpriced place with rude waiters

James Cole

Crab was awesome! Filet was great! I wish we were in Chicago a few more nights.

Alex Strahanoski

Amazing brunch spot! They have fresh seafood, crab legs, sushi, and oysters along with the staple brunch foods and some lunch items. Extremely yummy! Plan to go early so you can pace yourself. I also suggest getting a reservation for 10:30/11 so you can stay until 2 when brunch ends. The desert bar is also to die for.

Steven Johnson

We came in to an all you can eat feast. Prime rib, crab legs, sushi, crab cakes, lobster bisque, candied bacon, lobster Mac and cheese.

Kurt Thaxton

Favorite seafood place in Chicago! Pricey but worth it

May Mar

Delicious food with good service.

Nikki C

Shaw's is a Chicago staple and my recent visit just solidified that. This place has the great old Chicago ambiance cloaked in millennial worthy service. Not only was the food off the charts, the waitstaff was impeccable. The private rooms guarantee that certain parties won't be disturbed but the experience is nonetheless awesome!

Nicholas Joerger

This place is amazing and has great brunch. I can not wait to go back. I enjoyed the food so much that I forgot to take some pictures.

Mark Mahoney

My lobster was not clean. Oysters were moderate. For the cost, don't go if you're trying to be impressionable on a date - the place has changed dramatically and it's obvious. You will find greater deals for places at least 67% cheaper per lobster or oyster order.

Joe the goat farmer

Pricey but yummy. Great date night restaurant. Eating area is business casual at a minimum but during the day it was fine. Service was AAA.

Treasa Alexandria Mays

Wish I lived next door to it! Best!

Tina Figueroa

I came here for their oyster happy hour and it was really tasty! The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because service was quite slow even though the place wasn’t busy and I think there are better oyster deals! Here it’s half off while some other places do $1 per oyster. Though I’m glad I came here I don’t think I’d choose it over other places when considering oysters. We did have a very nice server and I thought the decor was lovely!

Thomas Vortas

Service was incredibly slow, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Went for lunch and they forgot our appetizer so delivered our entrees first. They followed up with our appetizer (grilled calamari) but it was extremely over-salted. We could barely eat it given how bad it was so probably left 3/4 of it on the plate. The seafood salad was good but hard to mess up since it's lobster and crab in a salad. If you've been to Joe's Seafood (sister restaurant), Shaw's by comparison is just a worse version at the same price point. Overall, not a place worth trying but if you want similar food, head over to Joe's which is just a few blocks away. Seafood Salad: 4/5 Grilled Calamari: 2/5 Key Lime Pie: 3/5

Alita Page

Wonderful experience and you don't have to dress. Still treated with the utmost respect. Great waitress. I only wish I could remember her name!!

A McGee

Wonderfully delicious food and amazing service! Could not ask for more. We were part of a big group but our waitress gave each of us personalized service. Wish I could remember her name. She was awesome! You must order a tower when you arrive! Great sampling of fresh seafood! Amazing!

Marnie Engle

Great experience here! We wanted seafood after a long afternoon at The Field Museum. Lobster Fettuccine was delicious. My husband had the Alaskan King Crab Legs which he loved! The kids were all happy with sushi, lobster bisque and shrimp. Definitely will return if we're in the Chicago area again!

Kai Mann

We we're treated Royally. Valet parked our car right out front. The food was impeccable and so was our waiter. (I highly recommend.)

Emily

Service was excellent, as was the food. We were there for an early dinner 4:30 and it wasn't very busy yet and they put us in a section with a lot of other people which I'm sure was because they were anticipating more to come but I would have preferred not to be so close together when there was more open spacing.

Knut Næsvold

It's a must for anyone visiting Chicago. Great fish and chips - but I would like to see mashed peas.

Tenia Banks

Loved this place. Salmon is cooked to perfection !

Dencil Smith

The food here is phenomenal! Some of the best tasting seafood I've ever had. Service was great also and food came out at a steady pace. Very nice atmosphere and friendly waiters.

Holly Spear

Great food and great service!

John Craig

Always a good to great meal and service!

Oleg Burakov

Very good place if you like fish, crabs and other sea food! Friendly staff, a lot of tables. Food is very delicious.

Allan Gardner

Top Drawer spot for a memorable experience.

Richard Cancellare

Food and service were both excellent! Also the noise level was low enough to converse easily with a large dinner party.

Craig Glicken

one of the best, most consistent and fresh seafood and diverse menus that delivers everytime we visit! GREAT BLUES MUSIC TOO!

Mistral Biscay

Old style crab house. Has good food, and drinks. Popular spot. They have lots of photos on the wall and some quotes done in those old-style lettering things. It is a sense memory to the 1960s and 1970s, but in a good way. Food was good.

James Parks

Went to Shaw's Crab House for the 1st time; great experience and great service. Food was above average with reasonable prices.

Raquel Alavazo

The drink was good. I went on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. The scallops were different sizes, very small. Food was mediocre at best.

Adam Chon

Went for brunch and it was AMAZING. The price is def higher than normal (~$65) but I do not regret a single penny. Take a look at their brunch menu and you will understand. Everything I tried was very quality too (I tried everything minus the basic food like chicken tenders). If I had to choose a down side, it would be that drinks are not included and the king crab legs were a bit small (still tasted good tho). Overall, Shaw’s was the best brunch I’ve had in Chicago and I definitely plan on going back.

Tyler Kneubuehl

Service took 2.5 hours for our party of 5, and we only ordered one entree. Starters were underwhelming, specifically the stone crab claw. Expect one bite. Told server about being there for my wife's birthday and was told they'd do something special, but nothing happened, no acknowledgement. We were expecting great service and food due to most of the reviews being positive, so were very let down. Gibson's from here on out!

Lover Diamond puppy love 70

We always go for Saturday brunch. One of the only buffet brunch styles that I enjoy from the breakfast choices to the seafood to the dessert tables are all put together well and taste great and always fresh. Staff wonderful

Maria Guzman

Great place!!! Loved the food and atmosphere.

LaMarcus McCray

Great atmosphere. Food and experience second to none.

Jean-François Brun

Poor experience. Crowded place, very noisy. Expediting kind of services from waiters. Old fashion dining room. No apologies for keeping us waiting despite our booking. Clearly over rated ! Otherwise very good quality of seafood. Presentation of plates is however very basic.

Patrisha Banks

Great food great service.

max s

Nice seafood restaurant, with a good wine selection. Service was great. Enjoyed the evening.

Mike Polo

Absolutely delicious food and all fresh. Staff are excellent and awesome ambiance

Gary Ho

Great service and great food. Our server Will was the best, he had tons of energy and was funny. Can't wait to go back.

John Kuhnlein

This place is great. It is a real institution in Chicago. Seafood is extremely fresh and well prepared. It's not a place to go everyday, but for special occasions you can't do much better.

Brad Matejek

This is a JOINT not a restaurant. Great food and service

Keith Griffin

Love the oyster bar here. Great ambience and excellent fresh tasty seafood. Had 2 dozen oysters and the Alaskan king crab legs. Just fabulous. The peppermint ice cream was a wonderful way to round out the dinner. I've eaten in the dining room before but really love the oyster bar atmosphere. Highly recommend whenever visiting downtown Chicago.

Steph A-Monali

My Maryland crab cakes with a side of Broccolini was delicious. Corie J was a very attentive and wonderful server. The next time I'm in Chicago, I'll definitely visit again.

Dean Leung

Fantastic service and ambiance. We enjoyed ourselves but their signature King crab and special Dungeness crab was only good. With so many good food options in the city we'd go back for the ambiance and drinks but not the food.

LeRoy Finnigan

Best food, top notch. Great service and high prices to cover it all.

Nathan R

Fantastic food, great drinks. Highly recommend

D L Anthony

Classic fabulous food wo fearfully presented in an atmosphere that has energy while enabling conversation. At civilized and comfortable volume levels. Loved it

Ledearedra Magett

Shaws still got it! Crab cake and sushi and oysters delish.

Joe Sparks

This is my go to seafood place in Chicago. When I just want oysters and a beer, Oyster Bar. When I want the full blown seafood experience, the restaurant. Wait staff attentive and helpful sorting through the oysters and Crab. :-)

Mistral Biscay

Old style crab house. Has good food, and drinks. Popular spot. They have lots of photos on the wall and some quotes done in those old-style lettering things. It is a sense memory to the 1960s and 1970s, but in a good way. Food was good.

Ian Payne

Expensive for what it is. Service is good but there are better "value" restaurants in the area.

SE Stack

Always mouth-watering good. Love coming when the Live music is playing. Lively environment and attentive staff. Its all about the seafood. We had grilled calamari & tuna/hamachi maki. Both melted in your mouth. No such thing as a bad meal here.

Milad Habibi

Great sea food with super helpful staff

Expert opinion

grear food come with an appetite or you will be mad to many wonderful items to choose from awesome and you will get full

Dan Koenig

This restaurant is a must-have for those that love seafood. The food is phenomenal and the service is top-notch. I'll definitely be back.

Rebecca Leyba

Great experience! Awesome style! They even had crabs and lobsters in a water tank walking to the restrooms which was cool. Waiters are great! The way they do things is very unique.

Alexa R

I had heard so much hype around Shaw’s, last time my parents were in town for their anniversary I decided to bring them here to try it. I ordered crab legs for my meal and we got a handful of appetizers. The food was good, not great and the prices were higher than what I would have expected for the quality and amount of food you got. The biggest downer was the service. Our waitress was kind of rude. For a wedding anniversary I would have expected a little more, especially at such an expensive restaurant. I would not return here for a special occasion or ever to be honest- much better food and service at other 4 dollar sign restaurants like Bavettes and Joe’s.

Daniel X. O'Neil

They sell seafood and it tastes good.

Andrew Moore

Their happy hour prices have really gone up.

marisa donaldson

We went for the brunch buffet and it was so worth it. Everything, and I mean everything was delicious. The service was also excellent.

Katrina Jones

It was the best, the food is out the chain, it was a buffet style brunch!!! My daughter loves this place and we will be back next wk

Jeremy m

The brunch buffet is amazing. Everything turned over quite quickly so nothing got old or skanky. Everything was fresh. The price is fantastic as well considering you can eat your weight in oysters. Would love to come back again for dinner some time.

Monica Ostapczuk

This location was a pretty chilled spot being the end of a road. Their valet people weren't as great. Car was parked somewhere that dripped rust? water, my car (not cheap but not a high end car either) I tried washing the car door and front windshield... I can still see dim drip lines still. I tried the Sunday brunch. The food wasn't bad. There was a pretty huge variety of food. I didn't get a chance to try everything. I did eat the oysters but was a bit worried about the quality of it. Although, I didn't mind having to walk far for the food, I think I would prefer the seafood/cold bar closer in the dinner area. The bar vibe just didn't seem to fit for me. I wish the dessert menu had more varieties... like flan or mango mousse or mini cannolis or more fruits. Our waiter and his crew did an awesome job taking our finished plates and amazing at making sure our beverages (even water) were full. Overall, I probably would give it another try.

Masa Iraqi

The place is amazing, food is extraordinary! Fresh sea food that tastes beyond amazing. We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at shaws. Lily was very sweet and helpful, she reflected a great understanding of the menu and gave a great recommendations. This place is a must to visit in Chicago.

Mina Thai

Even after many years of visiting Chicago again, Shaw's always exceeding my expectation. Their high quality seafood and phenomenal services is the gold standard that many businesses should strive to. We had the cold seafood tower and a bottle of chardonnay. It was the perfect way to start our night. I highly recommend Shaw's if you're ever in town.

Paul Robinson

Fabulous time! Wonderful food! Impeccable service! And the atmosphere of the restaurant absolutely memorable!

Deborah Gessner

Amazing meal, spectacular service from Corey.

Tiffany Norris

As a pescatarian, this place speaks to me! The vibe is very warm, seafood is super fresh and the servers are on it! The wine selection is an added bonus. Go for the grilled salmon - you won't regret it!

Mindy Strumpf

Fantastic seafood restaurant. The food is wonderful. The staff is very friendly. You must have reservations and they fill up quickly a couple of months in advance.

Linh O

This place is old school!! I mean that in the best of ways. From their menu to their impeccable customer service. So much so that we had dinner twice while staying in Chicago. Extensive seafood+ menu, wonderful vibe and Rubén! Our wonderful waiter. I can NOT emphasize enough how important good customer service plays part in the success of an establishment, something is almost nonexistent now days. Rubén is the epitame of this and we are thankful to him and Shaw's for making our dinning experience one to remember.

Rosanne Mcmanus

The quality of the food was spectacular. No fresher fish any where. Great staff too.

Jeremy m

The brunch buffet is amazing. Everything turned over quite quickly so nothing got old or skanky. Everything was fresh. The price is fantastic as well considering you can eat your weight in oysters. Would love to come back again for dinner some time.

Celebrated Mother's Day at the downtown location. The drinks were great and crafted with care. We had large Stone Crabs for the appetizer and they were phenomenal. The soup course was Clam Chowder, it had no clams....not sure what happened, it was not good. Main course we had King Crab Legs and Halibut Steak with a side of sauteed spinach, both were great, made up for the soup. Service started slow but she regrouped and was excellent rest of the night. We will recommend and will return.

CC King

Sooooo delicious! I went for Saturday brunch buffet and it was fantastic. Everything was great. The service, the food, the atmosphere, and the cleanliness. I will definitely come back and SOON!

Judith Kara

Best lobster rolls and clam chowder.

amy menias

Best seafood buffet ever! My whole family loves it including my 12, 10 and 7 years old! Something for everyone even my pickiest eaters from bacon to ceviche! It's our family place to enjoy each other's company and the food!

vanessa hentz

Their brunch is one of the best in Illinois! Crab legs, lobster bisque, gumbo, smoked salmon, crabcakes, waffle bar, dessert bar, sushi, assorted salads, and more! Vegans, pescatarians, vegetarians and carnivores can all live their best food lives there!

Vinny Lamovec

One of the best meals I've ever had. $65 is well worth the meal you will receive

Michael S. Thomas

Clean upscale dining even in its downscale oyster bar. Shaw's is a pretty traditional that doesn't tend to pander to the tourist crowd, although they are certainly there among the other guests. The oyster bar is tidy with a pretty good menu featuring a repertoire of oysters naturally but then there are soups, salads and sandwiches too. They also have a limited sushi offering. They do advise wine pairings for selected or featured oysters. I advise taking advantage of their magical happy hour to sample some oysters.

Dolores Jimenez

Went there for my granddaughter's birthday. Service was fantastic. Food what is everything you expect. Plenty of food for everyone to share. Oysters, crab legs plus other great food. Will be returning soon. Keep up the good work.

Kyle Turner

Classy joint! Mmm, so much crab. Don't forget the steak, surf and turf. Check out the casual side of restaurant if you're not going big.

Noel Weer

I've found nowhere better in the midwest for oysters, seafood, and conversation

Helice Rogers

My fam and friends 13 to b exact were there for my daughters bday...The service was on point...every plate came out perfect. Thanx Shaws for helping make my daughters Bday a great celebration

kevin sullivan

Shaw's Crab House is a Chicago jewel. The seafood offering are outstanding. The dinning venues in Shaw's are comfortable, ranging from the more casual Oyster Bar to the more formal dining room. We have been dining at Shaw's for almost 30 years and the professionalism of the staff has never waivered. Eat large or small, Shaw's is worth a visit.

Brad Smidt

If you love seafood dont miss this place! Great staff and a great vibe!

Ulisa Towner

I brought my husband here for the Fathers Day Brunch. The food was underwhelming. But there were two things that made it the absolute pits. First while browsing through the oysters to choose which ones I wanted. I saw live parasites or worms on the oysters. I informed the worker behind the counter about it and which ones it was on. And he seemed as if it was WHATEVER. I kept pointing to him to let him know to take it down. He just grab one

Rocio Kaitlyn

Love this place. Been here once before when they 1st opened. Thought it was pretty good then but this time, it was exceptional. Service w/a smile, food is delish and the price is reasonable. A must try if you like seafood!

Janet Napier

Awesome brunch experience...great variety, exceptional service...our server Chelsea made it more memorable by bringing a Congratulations dessert to my Nephew to help celebrate his graduation!

Curtis Hudson

Great lunch. The Sea Food Salad was excellent.

Jelena Lukovic

Amazing food and great service

David Souri

The best. Just is. I wish I could get to it more often.

john j. lignowski

Everything at Shaw's Crab House is incredible. The food is so fresh it's almost unbelievable. There are no bad choices. The service is exceptional as well.

Ree Mendiola

Excellent atmosphere, relaxing and food is awesome. Staff and services are great.

Karen Wilson

The food was delicious and the atmosphere relaxing. On Thursday nights the ouster bar has live music. It's good but a little loud for the small space. I recommend this restaurant if you are looking for quality seafood and willing to spend the money on it.

McTwisterStudios

Super cool place downtown for seafood, and by far the tastiest! The vibe inside is an upscale old school look. I recommend coming on the weekends (Saturday or Sunday) for their brunch buffet. A bit pricey ($65), but worth every penny. I recommend the crab legs and the crab cakes that come with a fantastic sauce. I highly recommend pairing your meal with the Basil Smash cocktail!

Patrick O'Neil

Amazing service and food, my reservations were for two , but changed to four at the last minute and they handled it with no problem!

Jackie Sanguy

I had the beer battered tacos. They were so good that I'm going back for more. Loved the ambience

John Bill

Just plain awesome! Superior service as busy as it is. You step back in time, old style that is perfect. Oysters are great as well as anything off the menu...had a great time and highly recommend it!

Regina Christophell

Its expensive but so very delicious. Steaks were great and cooked beautifully. I had the oysters Rockefeller and they were THE BEST I HAVE HAD... and i have eaten many

Bernardo Carvalho

Really good food and good service. Interesting ambiance, it’s worth the visit.

Bill Pai

A Chicago institution with a lush, power-club feel. Excellent selection of seafood, be prepared to pay dearly for the higher-end menu options.

Bullitt 78

I really like this place and the staff is extremely friendly. It has a nice restaurant section and a oyster bar that was really fun to sit at. It also had live jazz music while I was eating. Nothing not to like. I would definitely go back.

J.A. Dorsey

Amazing Brunch! So many items to choose from. Waffles, king crab legs, sushi, oysters on the half shell and so much more!

Brian Gochal

We showed up on a Friday night after nine expecting to not get a seat. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there is a lower key oyster bar on one side that also had a full menu. More of a bar table set up with a large bar counter in the center where they shuck the oysters. The oyster menu was large! Also of note that there is a happy hour offer where the oysters are half price which is good because they are pretty pricey otherwise. That being said, I got a dozen and they were spectacular. Coming from the coast to the middle of the country, this is no small feat. I chose the combination which had great presentation and enough butter on it to float a boat! The staff were all wonderful, attentive and quick to take care of our every need. I suggest staying for the espresso as it was also quite delicious and helped deal with all that butter

Marisa Appleton

Great food and Kirt was an amazing server.

Dan Gray

The bar is the place - great vibe, fresh fish. Dinning area could use update.

The seafood iis delicious and as fresh as can be. The service and hospitality was exceptional. You will not be disappointed!

Went to the restaurant part... High-end bar food (heavy, thick flavors) and good service, but not exceptional. Not up to par as a fancy restaurant for either. Ok to visit to say I’ve been there, but unremarkable otherwise. The oyster bar could be a very different experience, especially as a bar, and probably worth another visit to try it out. For a seafood restaurant Joe’s Seafood was a better experience both for service and more varied in flavor and subtleties dishes.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, live music, what else you need?

Try the lobster fettuccine, hands down the best pasta I've ever had. Service at the bar was outstanding despite the bartender being extremely busy. Finished off my meal with the raspberry pie, which garnered questions from the couple nearby who also ordered it. This establishment right up there with Joe's.

Good food. Went in with a group of 6 people. Some had seafood, others had the parmesan chicken. All liked the food and appetizers. Homemade ice cream was fantastic. Good service. Good prices for the type and quality food. Definitely recommend.
