I moved to Virginia a couple days ago missing my favorite buffet thats similar to Royal buffet. After trying a couple buffets, i thought to myself, nothing can beat my favorite spot back in Denver, co. I was wrong!! After giving this place a try, i was amazed of how many delicious platters they have to offer! Place was clean and staff were pretty friendly. Overall, I’m satisfied that i got the chance to discover this place after losing hope to find a better place, or similar, to my favorite buffet. I recommend this place if you’re looking for some quality food with a reasonable price. Try it out and thank me later

Food is good. Staff was rude with us. Went in for lunch at 3:40. Had no idea that after 4 the staff was putting items out for the dinner buffet. Waitress came to our table yelling at us "Oh you pay for dinner now"! I said "No, we came for lunch. We are not aware that this is dinner items". She then proceeds to snatch my husband's plate of food away from him. VERY RUDE! Will not be back.

Nice place with good service and typical "Chinese" buffet fair. On weekends they have seafood. Clams are tasty, raw oysters, blue crabs (occasionally) assorted shrimp dishes. Good value in my options opinion.

The food was high quality but the service was below average the workers had poor English which is was difficult to work with and explain what you want. The servers seemed to be in a rush which makes sense but To the point it was sloppy where often he came to our table where we are eating, he and she would reach over with there bodies and arms which had sweat and hair which could fall into our food. This I found gross the proper way is to go between each person and get the food not over all the food spreading what every is on that arm. Also I seemed they would use the same serving pronge for different foods for example the ice cream was served with the same scoop which mixed the different ice creams which I found inconvient because a person with a Nut allergy could not have any ice cream because the nuts in the butter pican could mix with plain vanilla. I found this throught the serving area. In over all the staff seemed like they were rushing to get things done and ignored the sanitary precautions.

I personally am not a buffet fan. This place isn't my cup of tea however it is usually busy and if you like Asian buffet this place has a big selection of choices from Mongolian grill to sushi to traditional American/Chinese food like beef broccoli.

This is a really nice place. The food is high quality. Servers are friendly. Great variety of seafood, crab and lobster available, tho you have to wait in line for them. There is a sushi bar and they do make your own stir fry as well. Plenty of options. It is rather pricey but I would say the value exceeds the price significantly. The decor is nice and modern, tho it looks like they have been remodeling for a while now. For two people the buffet with one beer and some tea was about 80 bucks. Not exactly cheap but it is good quality. They disincentivise wasting the food as well, which I think is nice.

The buffet itself is pretty good.Its easily one of the biggest by far. best sushi experience i have had in a buffet. lobster night was pretty fun . My problem with royal is it is expensive and they start putting food back at 9 even if the website mentions they a re open till 930. They didn't allow us to get even fruits at 9 . You pay an hefty price of admission for this.

Just walking out, this was our experience - Food wasn't refilled, doesn't taste the same. Waitress ignored my husband when asking for a drink order. Didn't give him a cracker for his seafood till I asked a guy nearby. Filled my husband's drink ONCE, never fill me or my friend's. Told the manager and he brushed it off. She chased me down for a tip, I was shocked. I should've made a scene, but wasted $5 and it wasn't worth 50 cents. Please go spend your hard-earned money somewhere else. And ps, if you have extra food left on your plate they'll charge you 15% more on the bill, in small print on the table so beware. Luckily I didn't get jacked with that charge, just wasted money on &+!# service.

This is my husband and my first time here. We’ve been looking for a place with all you can eat crab only because I love crab. The food wasn’t really good. The hibachi steak was good. The crab is ok. You have to wait in a long line to be able to get crab, even then, you’re only getting 3-4 leg pieces at a time. You have a choice of 1 lobster and one crab leg cluster or, 2 crab leg clusters. Overall it wasn’t worth it. The waitresses were rude, except for one that was kind. $72 for two people was outrageous. It wasn’t worth it at all. We’ll never be back.

The foot was amazing. It was Friday and they had both lobster and crab legs on the buffet. Due to the demand you can expect to wait in line for those items. They have all kinds unlimited sushi, a hibachi grill and just a host of other items including desserts. For chocolate lovers there is a chocolate fountain.

Lot of selections and I don't even know where to start. The lunch buffet closed at 3pm, so don't go after 2pm. Some food put on the steam bus are not tasty. Lot of variety of food, interesting place. Food is OK.

Are used to like coming here I’ve been till recently their food quality has fallen they’re not serving the same menus they used to during lunch. And the waitress who is being very discriminating against My fiancé and I we felt nothing but rushed and she brought us to check before we even asked for it as I was still eating and like most people that were able to walk their bill to go pay for it it’s like she was discriminating against my tattoos and the way I look she ran up to us and walked my bill with me to the table I felt so offended! I did try to come here once or twice a week I don’t think that I can manage that anymore I’ve had better customer service at McDonald’s

I will not touch their sushi or much of anything else. I tried the pig feet and it was overcooked, dry and flavorless-- tastes like soy sauce. I only return for the crab legs and the occasional lobsters. Tables need a good scrub and wipe down before seating guests as it had grease spots and very sticky surface.

Honestly thought it was delicious and cost about $9 for lunch during the week - cheaper than most places up here. Sushi was good - keep in mind that all places that serve sushi on a buffet will not have the best sushi of your life - so that being said it was good. They have frozen yogurt and sugared donuts. I enjoyed all of the different kinds of veggies, chicken, and seafood offered. Will be back again!

My fiance and I went here last night around 8pm it was our first time. Getting in and being seated was very easy. We came for the all you can eat crab legs and lobster. We waited in line for about 20min to get our crab legs and lobster which they had a specified limit of either 1 lobster and 1 crab leg or 2 crab legs. Normally when you go to a buffet style there's no limit per plate. The line was increasingly growing while we were waiting and after we got our batch. The server last night that was controlling the prime rib area was very rude. I asked for a slice and she put her hand out basically demanding my plate which is understandable but my issue is I asked if she can cook it longer and she got upset threw her cutting knife down on the board and walked away. Very unprofessional and clearly she's in the wrong business or just at the wrong station. On a good note our server was great I don't remember his name but he provided great service. We probably won't be returning for $30 a plate there's better options around!

It is a very nice buffet with a variety of food items to choose from. They keep the food replenished so there is always fresh new food. The staff is friendly and always on top of things like removing dirty plates, and refilling drinks. It is definitely, a good place to eat at a very good price. One of my favorite items is the crab meat, really good. I definitely recommend this place as one of my top chinese buffet to go to.

This place have varieties of seafoods and sushi. But the servers and services at the food bar are poor. Some on the phone cooking, some on their phone while working and whipping down tables. Foods is okay took to long for lobsters, sometime the line is long that you forget there's lobsters there. 30 dollars per person, I dont think its worth it but you can give it a try.

The choice is spectacular and they get a lot of people which rotates the food quite a bit. But the food is good, not great. Ambiance is very open and shared, not private, tables can be tight. I had to ask people to slide in to get out from my table. Cleanliness is 4 out of 10. It's about $33/head. I think kids may be cheaper but they charged full price for my 12 year old and he doesn't eat close to the amount of an adult. So I'm not happy about that. I did see a table of people jacking up my price by only eating plate after plate of king crab. Based on the other reviews focusing on crab/lobster maybe this is the most cost effective approach.

This was my first time to visit, I was impressed with the selection of hot and cold food items. The hibachi grill was well stocked and in 5 minutes, I had my food prepared. Due to the large volume of customers, there appears to be a lack of maintenance I'm the restrooms, such as a very lose toilet seat, and empty soap containers. Overall, I was quite satisfied and plan to return soon.

Very organized but dirty... the dishes were wet and dirty.. the cups were greasy as well. I was getting up to get some lo-mein and it had a long blue elastic sitting there, it made me gag. I definitely like the place but it needs a little more work with the sanitary items. The food was kind of cold and the bathrooms were nasty.. I don’t know if i’ll ever come back. 20 minutes before closing we were told to leave (We arrived at 8:30 and they close at 10). We had 2 people approach us and who constantly reiterated to leave because they're going to close. Every restaurant that I've ever been to always closes at whatever time they have scheduled (ex: 10 P.M) THEN they clean after customers have left, but I've never been anywhere that's rushed the customers to leave with such a gap of time still left on the clock. None of the other customers were rushed to leave and it was very disappointing when we were the only ones. The food is low quality, the waiters are unprofessional, and we were rushed from the second we stepped in the restaurant I wouldn't recommend eating here.

As others pointed out, the place offers a very good selection of no-frills but decent Asian cuisine at a fair price. Whether one's preference is meaty/ seafood/ or meat-free the buffet all caters for. They offered some sushi, fresh salads and a selection of dessert too; was happy to see that fresh fruit was there to choose from. The place is clean and the service is polite. The one star is dropped because: - the needless use of PLASTIC cups&straws (whether or not you want it) - I badly missed the FLAVOURS; I'm so used to garlic and chilli and onions are being the backbone of several staple dishes, the lemon and the orange sauce, the toasted sesame seeds, pineapples... And no egg fried rice either! :'( Overall not bad but still I'm yet to find a local Chinese that competes with my local back in Walthamstow (E17)

It was an average clean, well lit, basic ambiance buffet, except the food, which was well above average, being tasty, fresh, and good variety. The staff was friendly, and right on top of things, without being pushy. One of the better buffet's I have tried in awhile.

My husband and I used to like the restaurant. However, a RUDE staff who distributed lobsters can RUIN the dinning experience. For a $70 bill meal for two people, I can’t imagine how the lady can yelled at you for choosing a fresh half lobster. The buffet is shown to close at 9:30 pm on the website. We arrived at 8:40pm. The buffet took away food at 9:00 pm. That might be OK. But HORRIBLE service for a rushed buffet. Very disappointed.

Hibachi, sushi, seafood, endless meats and veggies, dim sum, dessert. Great buffet if you DON'T want lobster or Alaskan crab legs. Pros: Huge variety of food and volume of customers keep food fresh. Hibachi has good ingredients. Sushi is fresh. Cons: Long lines for dessert because crepes and ice cream need to be served by a worker and there's only ONE for the dining area of hundreds of customers. Before they served whole lobsters. Then they served only half. Now the crab legs are almost always broken apart so waiting in line isn't worth it. They make small batches at a time so the lines are long.

I was in Herndon /Fairfax for 3 days. This Royal buffet in Herndon on 492 Elden St was quite honestly the worst buffet I’ve ever been to. The General tsos was still pink in the middle. When I brought that to the attention of the manager, he acted like he didn’t hear me. Then when I told him again he got really, REALLY mad. I heard him mutter the F word under his breathe. I only ate 1 plate of noodles and they still charged full price. Also, watch out. I guess the waitress decided to tip herself because when I left and got to my destination I counted the change. I was short changed $2. My fault for not counting before I left but shows they are dishonest. Wouldn’t ever go back here or recommend.

Not impressed. girlfriend and I were excited about trying this place out. So many good reviews. After visiting not sure how they came up with such good reviews. We made reservations and were in right away. Both were excited about the crab. That is until we realized that the crab is rationed out by a server in one spot. The line at 5:30pm was about 35 people deep, no kidding. Like cattle. In the same station was the lobster tails. If you wanted the lobster you had to wait holding up the whole line for crab. No crab only line. Took about 17mins to make it through the line the first time, 19 the second time. The crab was water soaked but tasty. The butter was more like yellow oil with no taste for dipping. The lobster was cafeteria quality as was the rest of the food offered. The variety was large but all tasted poor to mediocre at best. My take away was that they cater to those who are Very value focused. (cheap) Food quality was not good but from the people there you could tell quantity was the focus and not the quality. Girlfriend is a big sushi and sashimi person. The tuna she grabbed was almost frozen and smelled. She took a tiny bite and tossed the rest. Could easily tell it was frozen and not fresh. Would happily pay more for better quality and not to have to wait in like like a soup kitchen. Think it was about $35 per head. I have no problem paying $75+ per head if it is good. But honestly a trip to Red Lobster while a few bucks more would have been far better.

Great place to eat with family for the holidays. They have many options so there is something for everybody. We had lobster on Wednesday, but beware that the line can be long for it. The also sushi and a Mongolian place where they will cook up the ingredients of your choice. We had some cotton candy on the way out and they make crepes to order as well. It's a great place to bring your kids as well.

I personally used to like this place. Especially for the first few times that I went, it was really clean and neat throughout the whole restaurant. However, more recently it has been quite a bit more dirty in terms of how the food is cooked and prepared. It might be due to more customers, but that still is no excuse for proper sanitation in bathrooms and food quality.

The food here is very good, although it's a buffet and I don't expect much from servers, they're on the ball, but not very talkative. It's not the cheapest place, so expect no less than $35 per person... But then again, there's a large selection of pretty good sushi, you can get a strip steak in a dish at the first station, sometimes there's lobster and crab. The traditional food you'd find on Asian menus is very good. They'd get 5 stars if staff wasn't cold and visibly messing around instead of making it a little bit cleaner... That could use some work.

LOVE this place. Their sushi is amazing, not just for an all you can eat buffet but for any sushi place. Always fresh and varied. Hibachi is good but I usually stick to the sushi. I've not found an item there I didn't like to be honest. I highly recommend you try them out for lunch as the price is unbeatable for what you get. Come hungry!

I really like this place. The only reason for four stars is that some of the patrons aren't the most desirable. As a young female, I don't like being ogled while I am eating, and I have gone with other females who have expressed similar problems. Sometimes the service isn't the best either, as in drinks that sit empty for far too long and empty plates left on your table to the point of overcrowding. However, overall, the food is worth it. You get a great selection, the food is always fresh, plentiful and delicious. I am rating this place for what it is--a Chinese buffet. We all know that the food sits there for a little while until new stuff comes out, the sushi probably isn't going to be the best, and to stay away from any salmon, crab legs, or fish. If you do that, you will be fine. Any shrimp meal is fine, anything with chicken is great. The flavors are great, and there is no MSG, because if there was, I would get a horrible migraine every time I eat there, and I don't. It's a great place to take your time to eat, as they are not pushy to get you out of the door. I highly recommend.

When I was leaving, I was chased down by the person that brought my soda, she asked if anything was wrong and demanded a tip. She waived the bill in my face and made a scene in front of the whole buffet. I didn't understand why she was expecting a tip for serving me a Pepsi, so I asked to talk to her manager. This was one of the best restaurants in town. Went there last year wasn't so good. Went there just recently, it was so bad I wouldn't go there again ever. The food isn't tasty as it was. Meat chicken and fish aren't cooked well. The food is oily. The past couple of times I have been here I was seated and was brought my drink, and I would eat and finish my drink waiting for a refill and the servers would just stand and talk to each other. I have a serious love-hate relationship with this place. The selection of food on the buffet far surpasses any buffet I've ever been too. They have every single seafood item imaginable cooked about 3 different ways. They also serve whole lobsters and crabs and the price per person is absolutely unbeatable. I was definitely in awe the first time I came here. The reason I hate this place is because it is probably the best Chinese buffet around, everyone and their brother know this. This place gets SLAMMED. The customers come and don't stop. Good luck even finding a parking spot where you don't have to walk a mile. My last complaint is that they have this cute little pond/fountain where they have some fish and turtles but unfortunately it's not supervised and doesn't look maintained. Foreigners and kids come and throw trash in the little fountain and pick up the fish and turtles and abuse them and the employees could care less. Sad that people have to ruin everything this way. All in all, a great buffet. Just be ready to fight the masses at the buffet tables.

This an all you can eat place, used to be very good, as the economy and other issues changed, their options also did. No lobster, very tiny crabs, and fake crab meat is used in fillings. Quality and options decreased, although you still can over eat here, the price went up for far less quality. Went with myself and another adult and a 5 year old. Ate from the buffet and it came to 85+. The "waiter" brought us drinks and then didnt do anything else. Other waiters were taking our plates and even helped when I spilled my drink on the table. She didn't help at all. When we went to leave I didnt tip bc she didnt do anything for us. As we were walking out of the buffet. She chased down my 5 year old and other adult and myself. I was with to demanded a tip and made a scene in the middle.of the dining room in front of all the other customers waving the bill on our faces. What I really like is that there is a good attempt to keep food quality on par despite the large variety. You are bound to find something that you like. I did really enjoy the option to make your own stir fry in addition to the more traditional stuff like the steamed buns and such. There was a couple of things that I could suggest such as making sure to not overcook the fish which for the grilled stuff it was. The salmon I had was not good, a bit watery-like. I was a big fan of the duck and the Hong Kong chicken. The sushi was pretty decent; much better than other buffet sushi. I do debate on whether spending +$30 at this place was justifiable

Not only was the food just kind of mediocre, after receiving the bill I noticed my 9yr old child’s buffet price was the same as an adult buffet. When I brought it to the cashier’s attention she and the waiter began questioning and sizing my child up as if we were lying. So that was just a little bit offending, although my (10 in two days yr old) is rather tall, she lacks the appetite of an adult and definitely did not eat 30$ worth of food off the buffet. Then the ‘waiter’ not knowing we had left him a cash tip on the table, had the nerve to ask “you’re not going to leave a tip” when we paid with a credit card. Great buffet. Lunch is cheap but no crab legs. However lunch has other seafood like fried soft shell crab or sometimes steamed Dungeness crab (people often come in just for Dungeness crab) also lots of different sea shells. Its around 15 bucks. Dinner has crab legs and/or lobster tails. But is closer to 30 bucks per person. Both have sushi and stir fry bars going. This is one of the best in area for sure.

Royal Buffet was huge, so crowded. Going on the same night as all you can eat crab legs was definitely a big mistake. The lines were so long it was not worth paying the extra money to have the buffet. The sushi was very good, and amazingly the sushi chefs kept up with demand. The food on the buffet was delicious and fresh, the turnover of the food was great, so it was always hot and fresh. The food and service was good, but the crowd was not.

Customer Service by the waiter we paid was BAD! My sister and I asked the waiter for a split bill/receipt. She rudely demanded our debit cards. She ran up the bills/receipts and as we were signing the bill, she demanded a 10% tip. She said it’s what she charges everyone but she didn’t put it on our bill. I asked if there’s a policy that requires 10% and she said yes. We paid accordingly and as I walked out, I saw a sign right in the front door, 10% charge for parties of 6 or more. There was only 4 of us!!! Never going back!

Foods really dry, every other menu item is prepared with some variation of peanut butter(which I'm ok with). Sushi is refrigerated. Gave this place a second chance after finding four separate hairs in separate food items during one single visit. I asked again and the lady just pointed and mumbled something like she doesn't do the ice cream, asked another person who sent me right back to the lady that told me she didn't do the ice cream. After waiting for 5 mins and no one came I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager there, and he would be back in 20 mins. This place is horrible wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Was good my family and I went there really frequently but now they have too much spicy food than before; and it limits our visits, maybe once a month and only to go. Overall the food was really good and there is a lot of variety! I would have given 5 stars but I just had a bad experience with the waitress. She just had a bad attitude and was rude towards us. Some people were very nice but the person we had just wasn’t very attentive and at the end she kept asking for a bigger tip trying to embarrass us. And as we left she yelled at us. If the waitress was kind and attentive I would have given this place 5 stars and a bigger tip.

They have the best Thai food I have ever tasted. From appetizers to three main course dishes to the desserts you'll not be disappointed. I'm a vegetarian and they have plenty of dishes they offer without meat. The vegetarian egg rolls are great. The egg rolls are crispy and served with a very tasty sweet sauce. Every dish has a lot of flavor. The service is also great. The servers are very nice. I would recommend this restaurant too anybody who loves food!

Well this is a matter of choice ...its a buffet joint so expect the crowd and wait. Also it's a seafood themed buffet so the very very strong stench of fish or raw food. The employee were nice enough but I couldn't just do the crowd lining up for food and the fish smell. I saw lobster meal and whole crab meals on tables ..and then the sushi. They have a parking lot but its shared by the shopping stores.

Sure, it's expensive at $30 a head, but where else are you going to get unlimited lobster and crab? They also have a Mongolian grill area. Rather than wait for the line to the lobster to wind down, I took in the Mongolian grill and the sushi bar. I couldn't believe the number of sushi selections. There were 34 different types of sushi. I had 14 of them. This was my first time here, but it won't be my last.

Food quality is great! Tons of options, this place is huge. Price is great, sushi is great.... Love it. Lots of dessert options of you have room. Service is quick, the chefs are very attending and friendly, always willing to help. Couldn't recommend them enough!

The worst food ever. My unborn baby could cook better than this. Looks like im eating rocks for the rest of my days. The manager is rude as heck. And the flan is chuncky and tastes like egg subsititute.Lastly, their pineapples taste like alka- selzer. So basically, I payed for water and food made of cardboard.

i was a regular customer of theirs going in every other day becuz it was good food for a very reasonable amount i dont have any issue with the food its really awesome for the price u pay...i have always got the same server i have dined in for a couple of times and i have a baby girl who is 10 months old so she tends to make a little mess when fed which is very common and i have seen other kids do that too but the last time when i went there i saw my host making faces and behaving differently also to mention their chinese manager came and stopped by us and our server and the manager made some nasty comments deliberately in chinese so we dont understand but i got it....they were talking about my baby and the little food she had dropped....cmon how can u guys be so rude i have always paid you good tips....also the table next to us had all grown ups still when they left i saw her sweeping the floor as they had dropped a lot of food too so why would you be rude i have always greeted and treated my server very nicely but no1 messes with my baby so you have lost a loyal customer now....never going back

I LOVE this restaurant! They have a huge Selection with a big staff. The food is very good and fresh for being a buffet. I’ve been to others where my favorite dishes where horrible and you could tell the food was sitting for long periods of time. My waitress was very attentive to my needs and I would definitely go back. You don’t see the employees Walking around stirring the food so is does not look all dried out. I was surprised one day to find they were serving lobsters! FOR 35.00 I had 4 lobster tails and sushi and the wait was but minimal for the line serving lobsters. At the most there was only 3 people before me at the lobster line. My favorite 5 star Sushi bar charges over 100. For 15-20 pieces of the nigiri. Had to stop that after I spent thousands of dollars there.

Things aren't what they used to be.. Dishes are dirty, food trays aren't filled like they used to be, sticker on table says if you don't finish your food on your plate you may be charged extra, they appear to be rationing crab legs now and you cannot pick out on your own. Their Lobster is rubbery and probably overcooked. One of the more expensive buffets around and everything seems to be less for your money. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Delicious is not descriptive enough. There are so many options, so many choices. Just the volume of half lobsters alone is reason enough to hit this buffet. We went on a Saturday morning just as they opened at 11am. By noon the place was busy. Go to Arlington race track after stuffing your face and make the day a win, win!

Went there mad hungry, only to be greeted by some musty, dusty, crusty azz sushi. Joint looked rancid. I was hungry, so I ate some. Each bite made my liver quiver. There oysters were alright, so I had a couple rounds of them jaints. When they ran out, I ask the refill lady if I could please have more. She looked confused and said “there no more”. Ah he’ll nah fam, I came to an all you can eat, and what I usually eat (sushi) looked like it had a bad day. And now you’re telling me no more oysters?! I’m out.
