Best bar I have been to. Haven't been here in a while due to work obligations. But George is a awesome owner. Ask for Rodrigo or Kelly, they make some mean good strong drinks. And they have the best steak sandwich I have had in a very long time. Highly recommend, will be back there soon.

Dunno what happened here? Used to close the place 3 nights a week, ate half my meals here. Life's happened, it's been a while.... flash forward to today. 20 minutes to get noticed, order taken. 30 minutes later, soup AND dinner delivered to the table simultaneously, appetizer never made the ticket??? Needed to get our own silverware, waitress altered the order (bed of fries for rice), and my date (my 3y.o daughter) even noticed and laughed at her giant water cup to my tiny soda. Neither my Kiev or the baked French onion were what they used to be. It's a shame, I know it's been a while, but the change was incredible. Ya, the walls are prettier, but I miss the old vanders.

Great food and nice atmosphere, but some of the worst service you will ever experience. Waited 45 minutes for a coke recently, was done with my meal by the time it came, and waited 15 minutes sitting at the bar before anybody even acknowledged me the time before that. It wasnt as if the place was busy either time.

Good appetizers! We had sweet potato fries, loaded baked potato skins and chicken tortilla soup. The soup was the best I have ever had! The wine was good and the craft beer! Worth a visit!

We went on St Patrick's Day and you'd think a lot more people would have showed up but at 9:30 p.m. it was still pretty dead. They had a great big dance floor and looked like there could be a some dancing happening but I don't think we stayed late enough for that.

I went for lunch and the food was phenomenal. We got a calamari appetizer that was cooked perfectly, and I got the salmon BLT which had really good bread and toppings. My only complaint was we had a non-waiter waiting us which resulted in slow service. I assume that's not usually going to be the case. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The food, drinks and music are good. Only thing I didn’t like was the service. Our bartender Jennifer charged us $68 for 3 beers then comes back saying she acciendly charged us for pitchers. How!??? It was clearly 3 beers. And the gay guy in at the bar was such a doosh. Everyone I asked him for water or a napkin he wouldn’t even response to my please or thank you, just walk away

Upon entrance the place was pretty nice. The atmosphere was quiet enough to hear my coworkers discussing random stuff, and the beer was good. I only give two stars because right now I'm fuming because the waitress apparently forgot to order my food, or the food was just taking more than an hour to make (more than enough time for a 10 piece chicken wings). I probably should have said something because the people at my table who ordered 5 minutes before me got their food right away. 2 stars because they didn't make a fuss and charge me for the food that I never received.

I can sum up our experience at Rocky Vander’s from this past Saturday night as FANTASTIC! I was looking for a place to hold a reunion of some long time friends. They accommodated us above and beyond our expectations. We knew we would have between 20-30 people, but not a definite count. When we arrived, they had our area all set up, with plenty of seating, in a separate area which we requested. The waitress, Jen, was absolutely fabulous. She was very friendly and attentive to us. The service was great when we ordered food. It came quickly. Tasted great. The beer selection/drink selection was also to our liking. The TVs/Music wasn’t too loud, so that we can converse and have a conversation without screaming to be heard. Perfect. By having such a great venue and atmosphere to hold our ‘mini-reunion’, it really set the tone for a fantastic night. There was also a live band that played which also was a great addition to the night’s enjoyment. The location of Rocky Vander’s was perfect, as we had people coming from all directions and with it being right at Milwaukee Ave and Palatine Road, it was the right choice to have our get together here. I would recommend this place for others to come and have a great night out. We will come back when it starts getting warmer, so that we can enjoy their outside patio bar. Again, kudos to Jen, for being a terrific server for our group.

I liked the old floor plan better with the pool table in the back and the dance floor and DJ booth in the room up front. But I see why they've changed it up and added video gaming. All in all a nice place with a typical bar menu that serves pretty good food. They have drink specials on certain nights. The house special Vander Slammer is a force, it will make a mess of even the strongest.

Michigan wants you Rockys!!!! What a fabulous experience. The Ribs were absolutely amazing, the broasted chicken plentiful and the nachos were the best. If I ever come back to Illinois, this will be my first stop. Thanks Rockys. The "Fish Bowl" was out of this world.

Kim served on our visit. The place looks sad, but don't let that deter you. The pizzas we ordered were fantastic, and the chicken tacos were killer. Eat them quickly though. The soft shells become soggy on the cutting board they are served atop and fall apart otherwise.

If I could give zero stars, I would. However, in order to share my experience with you, I had to select at least 1 star. We made reservations (table for 6) about 2 weeks before tonights event. Upon our arrival, we were told our reservation had to be cancelled because the “promoter overbooked”. We were then told to wait and allow them to figure things out. After about an hour of waiting, given the runaround, witnessing an elder man bust his face after falling and rushed out of peoples walkway instead of given proper medical attention, we gave up! Did I mention the elders blood was quickly wiped with paper towels and not cleaned and disinfected. People allowed to just continue to pass through. Overall, service was horrible and we will not be returning nor do we recommend to anyone after our experience.

The food was great I ate here on consecutive nights, the service could've been better since the salad came out after the entree and the toy cop at the door could try not treating individuals like suspects. I would return the next time I'm out there but I'll probably take my food to go if this guy is there. I don't like to be made uncomfortable especially somewhere I'm spending my money. Did I mention the food was great tho (avoid sitting in certain spots at the bar the ceiling leaks I believe it's from the cooling system)

I was traveling for work and Rocky’s was recommended for dinner as it was close to the hotel I was staying at. Everything was excellent from the friendly service to the scrumptious food! I had a glass of Sangria and the fish tacos, they were both very delicious! I would highly recommend Rocky’s and will return the next time I’m in the area. Thanks for a great dinner!

The staff and food/drinks were great. However, as one of the performing musicians, the sound guy was total crap. He complained when one instrument was barely above bedroom volume, felt the need to tell us during our set we had 10 more minutes even though we started on time and were no where near through our scheduled time slot, and on top of that rushed us offstage like cattle. Afterwards, he said he wanted to give me advice as a fellow musician. If this guy was a musician, would he want to be treated the same way he treated us?

First time customer. Placed order for delivery to Northbrook. Ordered a salad and a burger. Order arrived withing the hour. Salad had no dressing nor was on the side. So the salad was dry. A SALAD NEEDS ITS DRESSING.!!!!! Now the burger. It was called the HANGOVER BURGER.. The pretzel bun was hard as rock!! I think I hurt my mouth trying to bite it. The egg was all over the burger, inside,outside, on top of the bun and bottom of the bun and yolk outside the burger. Order jalapenos inside and I got only 1 damn jalapeno slice,ring, or what ever you wanna call it. And it was outside the burger. Not inside the burger but almost somewhere inside the fries!!!..The meat was ok. Now the fries where super overcooked. Paid almost 36 dollars + tip.. That's the most expensive,nasty salad and burger ever!!!!!!!!!!!

I always go to rockys with my friend on Sunday night after work. We always sit outside. Last time our waitress was just awful. Not once did she come out and ask how's everything or if we needed any refills. We went back in to pay and she was talking to two people and on her phone. We had to call her for her attention twice. She didn't ask if the food was good. We loved going there but after that experience, that's the last we are going there. I don't remember her name but she was very skinny, long blonde/black hair, a bunch of piercings on her face.
