I went there for my boyfriend's happy hour. The service was excellent. The drinks were good and quite a selection of drinks. I had a wonderful mojito!! The food was delicious. They provided appetizers and i was eating them for a couple days after!!!

Great restaurant and decent prices for the area. I’ve only really gone during the day during the week so this review is for that. The food was consistently good and the service was good—sometimes a little slow when busier but what can you expect. I especially liked the Caesar salad with a side of soup—ask what the special is that day as it was often super good!

Pretty typical lunch or dinner spot in the Loop. It's a good location for business meetings. It's usually crowded but not packed at lunch, but it can get overly crowded after work hours until maybe 7pm, then it clears out.

Nice venue for after work drinks or meeting clients. Though the space had the decor of a high end restaurant, the giant screen TV's playing sports help make the scene more approachable. Wine selection was ok, beer lost was fantastic and the apps we had we're tasty. Only issue was or surely server who seemed like she been scheduled when she didn't want to be or they were short staffed and she had an attitude about it. You know it's not going to be great service when as she walks by your table and you try to flag her down when your drink order, she didn't make eye contact, gives you the"one minute" finger and keeps it moving. Wouldn't prevent me from coming back as the rest of the staff was lovely, friendly and fast.

We went on a Friday night before going to a show at the Lyric, and it was surprisingly not crowded or rushed in the least. Our food was good, the staff had no issues with us needing to wait for the third person in our party to arrive, and the Mules had an excellent kick. I will say it was a little pricey for what we got, but it's downtown Chicago and you're always going to be paying premium prices there. All in all, it was a good experience!

Dined on a Saturday night, and the place was relatively quiet at 7, but then started to pick up. Our server was friendly and attentive. The menu didn't have much of a theme - I expected mostly burgers and steaks because of the name, but there were only a couple burgers and one cut of steak. The rest of the menu was a mix of tacos, sandwiches, and some pasta dishes - not really anything that coordinated. I ordered the French dip, which was awesome. It came with a horseradish aioli which wasn't too strong. I only wish it came with a little more au ju.

Prime Bar is an ideal location for happy hour in the loop.. Located on wacker drive, it is close enough to most locations in the loop. We came here both for drinks and for lunch. The food I found was simple, yet very tasty, and the drinks were made strong, but not too strong. Overall I recommend.

I love to come here for a really nice lunch. It's a beef place - so eat the beef! It's delicious. Great steak salad. Great french dip. I really do wish they had rolls, though. My one lament... No bread service....

Went here for a happy hour after work. The food was good, but prices were a bit high. Our waiter was easily confused and our food wasn't prepared together, so even though we ordered dinner all at the same time, entrees came out sporadically. They do have Andes mints at the door, so be sure to grab some of those on your way out! Don't grab the entire bowl though, the host doesn't think that's funny. :)

Aptly named bar for its prime location. Great place to frequent dring the summer months to get drinks after work with coworkers, as they have a very relaxing and enjoyable outdoor patio. Prices are high, but you're paying to have a drink overlooking the Chicago River.

Decent place for a quick lunch. Service is quick but spotty, depending on how busy they are. The tuna tartar is superb. Fish and chips was also quite good. Came with a generous helping of Cole slaw. The server was kind enough to substitute a side salad for the fries. I enjoyed my lunch as did my dining companion who ordered tacos.

Upscale eatery with American fare. The ambiance and crowd was very cool, but the food left me wanting. For being in the city and the $$$, I was disappointed in the flavor of my food. Great for meeting up co-workers for drinks and enjoying some small dishes though.

Great bar for lunch or drinks after work. The food is tasty (but fancy for a bar), and the drinks are reasonable. They do a great job during lunch - keep everything moving quickly so you're not there too long. It has a nice vibe as well - upscale yet not pretentious, and cozy but not quiet or boring. I'd recommend this for a working lunch or post-work drinks.

The Burger Guide

Primebar is a Chicago Loop bar with great drinks and food. It is a popular happy hour location, but definitely holds its own as a kitchen. A fun but laid back atmosphere makes it an enjoyable place to catch up with friends at. The Cheeseburger at Primebar is an American Classic done premium. Cheddar, ketchup, lettuce, red onion, tomato, and a pretzel bun for a little twist. The bun is perfect and has a doughy and airy quality to it. The toppings are of the highest quality and are extremely fresh. The only thing holding this burger back was its beef. It was definitely high quality but lacked the juiciness or seasoning that I was looking for. Although, it did have the elusive char flavor which went so well with the cheddar and pretzel bun. The combination of the other flavors overcame the beef's shortcoming for the most part and this is one of the best bar burgers you'll find.

I've gone to Primebar several times for lunch and happy hours. They serve contemporary bar food in a modern setting. In addition to South Branch, it's one of my top options on the west side of Wacker for business lunches. For happy hour they offer specials like $5 glasses of wine and $4 Chicago brewed beers.

The place is as pricey as one would expect for the area, however has some great daily drink specials to appeal to the after-work crowd. The service was very good, all smiles, great energy and the crowd seems like a great place to mingle or just stick with our group. I can see myself frequenting here more.

I've had a few lunches at Primebar with co-workers for our "fancy outings" and it's nothing really that special. The few times that I've gone, everything that I picked out to order wasn't on the menu anymore, which was weird, because clearly it was on the menu right in front of me. Bottom line, they change their menu a lot, without printing new menus. The food was average. The main draw is the upscale atmosphere and drinks. I wouldn't seek out Primebar if I were looking to impress a client over lunch.

Atmosphere was perfect: music was set appropriately high enough so as to not be too loud, but not low enough that I couldn't hear someone 2 feet away from me. Food was delicious...I highly recommend the slider. The drinks were as expected for downtown. This is a great location for an after work drink/meal.

If you like fresh food and care about what you eat- stay away from this place. Gave them 3 opportunities to prove me wrong but their take out is the most disgusting thing I tried. Beer after work is all they are good for.

I went to dinner at Primebar for a 7pm dinner on a Saturday, and it was almost completely empty - probably due to the fact that Wacker is mostly a business street. The drinks were good and the prices for the food were fair considering the portion sizes. My issue was that while the food came out quickly and at the same time as the rest of my party, it seemed cold? That surprised me since there were only maybe 4 other tables.

Recently had a chance to head over to Primebar with some co-workers for lunch and taste wise I couldn't be happier! I ordered the Seared Tuna with a side of Brussels Sprouts and everything was delicious. The waiter seemed a little distracted and wasn't as attentive as I would have liked (which was surprising as they didn't seem too busy.) If it wasn't on the massive delays on refills from this it'd have a perfect 5 and I hate not doing that as I don't think it was a restaurant issue but just a waiter issue. That being said the food was great and I'll absolutely be back!

Pretty nice bar. I visit this place more often with a group for happy hour and they are more than accommodating. Given the size of this place, I'm sure they expect a lot of people. Anytime I visit with a group, we are immediately greated and seated. Great selection of food and beer. I usually go with the traditional burger and fries.
