You have all the reviews of real people who are consuming the products and services of Pizzeria Uno (Restaurant) in the area close to Illinois.
Currently the business gets a score of 4.2 out of 5 and this rating has been based on 2538 reviews.
As you can read, its rating is very good, and it is founded on a very large number of opinions, so we may be quite sure that the valuation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their review when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to write opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Pizza restaurant.
Great pizza making class. The class was very informative. We got some tips that were never had heard before. I enjoyed the tour of the kitchen. And of course the food was great. Parking wasn't too bad. My daughter used an app to get a good deal at a place around the corner. I'd recommend out for both a family or a couples event.
In a word, Epic. Visited here on our first night and actually first meal and it was great. Quaint little place with a fab decor. The food was amazing. We ordered a small Numero Uno (think that's what it was called) and we struggled to finish it. Our server Melody was great and bubbly. Made our first night one to remember. Highly recommended!!
Great location, friendly staff and good seating. Enjoyable atmosphere. Garlic bread was really good. Never had deep dish pizza before so I cannot compare it to other places, but it was enjoyable.
This is my absolute favorite place to get true Chicago style deep dish pizza. The crust is similar to how I would describe a pie crust tender, flaky, and buttery all at once. They also have a nice variety of craft beers. they had a limited edition goose island beer that was 15% alcohol. It was very interesting but I don't know that I would pay $15 again.
Absolutely amazing ! Must visit pizza place in Chicago :)
Ideal place to try deep dish pizza in Chicago and food is great. I have been to this restaurant twice and their service is really good.
Can't understand what the rave reviews were about. It's OK at best. Obviously deep dish is their thing but have honestly had better elsewhere.
Must go in Chicago. The original deep dish pizza. The flavours of each topping along with the sauce & breading thickness perfectly complement each other in a way that is unexpected for such a thick crust. Sit outside if you can as it’s a nice & simple corner. Also, you’ll occasionally see a Lamborghini or McLaren drive by which is a bonus if you’re into that.
The original Chicago deep dish is still its best. Tip: if the line at UNO is long, walk one block north to DUO, same company. Same menu. Clever names.
One of the pizza joints in Chicago where you must try the famous Deep Dish Pizza. I liked that they operated till late. There is a bar inside. Prepare to wait atleast 45 min for your order to be prepared.
Delicious deep dish pizza!!! And friendly service. I would say skip the appetizer if you want to be able to finish your pizza!
1st time there and it was great. Will be back
The waiter dropped a pizza on the table, it turned over, but no one got hurt. The server was very sorry and dumbfounded... We reassured him., all was OK, no one was hurt. They billed us the pizza, when we said we didn't want to pay for the pizza, that had been mostly thrown away and rest left untouched... He proceeded to take it off the Bill... Hus manager got made, and made us feel as though our request was unreasonable... Bot a fun experience!
Would give 5 stars but bar tender was a bit of an a$$. Walked in to pick up a pizza and first thing he said in a rude way was were done for the night.... I said I here to pick up a pizza and he pointed to the kitchen.... kitchen got my pizza to me super quick walked back to hotel to eat it amazing!!
Great pizza. Get there early line to get in gets long but worth the wait.
Very nice cozy place. The atmosphere was magic. I never tried a dip dish pizza before but this one was delicious. I liked everything about this place. You can feel the history talking in everything. A must visit! Go for it!
Delicious deep dish Chicago style pizza. Easy online ordering and pickup. Location in an older building with tons of character. A must visit!
I was recommended to this place by a friend and was not disappointed. Great prices and service. They have a bit of a wait but any place good usually does. They had there 75th anniversary this year and if they stay this good I don't see why it wouldn't be another good 75 years.
1st time having a deep dish and man was it amazing!!
Had to wait double the time we were told, while standing outside in the pooring rain and hail. Waitress was focused on talking to people more than serving people, pizza took about an hour and a half to be made once we had a seat, and we ordered it about 2 hours before that, and it didn't even taste very good. Would definitely avoid.
I had to wait an hour, instead of the 20-30 minutes they told us it would be, and then the hostess completely messed up our order, even when we clarified after she read it back wrong. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes to get the right order after they messed it up twice. The only reason it doesn't have one star is because our waitress was really nice and the food tasted good
Fantastic! Great deep dish! Everyone loved it. Just wish we lived closer to enjoy another pie!
I love this place. One of the best deep dish I've ever had. If I lived in Chicago I would get it at least once a week. I would go for the four cheese pesto. Its something different but familiar.
Amazing food. The large sized pizza is huge but a great challenge. It was an authentic Chicago Deep Dish experience.
Went here on a Monday evening for the first time and there was a small wait. Place was super busy and the waitress was maybe asking us how we were doing maybe once or twice in a 50 min period. Didnt know that was the wait time for a deep dish. My suggestion would be to order before hand. Food was good.
The pizza is good but go get it... worst delivery experience ever... took 2hours for delivery... the delivery girl refused to come to our room. On top of it she did not had change ... a good way to screw customer. Like it could not get worst...the pizza was cold... don't encourage that restaurant... they don't deserve it with such bad service for a small pizza that cost 30$...
Uno's is amazing. If you want to get the feel of old time, authentic deep dish pizza, then you really cant go anywhere else. It does take a while to get to you (30-40 minutes) so the pre-order may be best if you are in a hurry. If you are not in a hurry, then sit down and enjoy the ambiance of this amazing restaurant. Everything - I mean everything - is fresh made. Nothing is processed. The tomato sauce is handmade every day. The pepperoni is not greasy or oily. All the veggies are fresh. And the mozzarella.....amazing. So, so good. I would recommend anyone visiting Chicago to go here.
I'm no expert on Chicago cuisine, having only just recently learned of the distinctly Chicago-style hot dogs and Polish sausage that are so popular in this city, but I enjoyed every single bite of PU's deep dish pizza. Omg was that crust is drlicious! It had a marvelous buttery flavor of its own, sort of reminiscent of a homemade pot pie. Couple this indulgent crust with fresh toppings (NOT canned, thank you), and a really nice sauce that isn't overly spicy but instead allows the tomatoes to take center stage and you've got a remarkably good pizza. I would weigh 1,000 pounds within a week if I lived near by lol! Pizzeria Uno was very busy when we went, and we still received excellent service and a great seat on the patio that had nice flowers.
Excellent first, time eating a deep dish pizza was different but good
Worth checking out as the originator of deep dish pizza, but I’ve had better and their appetizers are just regular bar food. Will give them credit for a good beer list and great service.
Oh my gosh the pizza was so good. The crust was thick, crunchy and you could taste the yeast in it. The toppings were great, whole crushed tomatoes and great cheese.
Nice cozy place. Very kind and nice staff. we tried Pizza Uno Special and it was so DELICIOUS.
Their deep dish pizza was great. The Italian salad was fresh and their house dressing was enjoyed. Joe the bartender was fun to chat with.
I went there Friday evening, and the waitress with all tattoos was ignorant. She smelled like smoke. When I asked her if this was a smoking bar she got even more rude and told me that if I needed to smoke to go outside behind the restaurant. I said no it just smells like smoke. Pizza was over cooked. Only positive thing was they had two bathrooms. I will pass next time i’m in Chicago. Went to Giordano’s Pizza Saturday night! Much better. Cleaner and pizza was better
The pizza wasn't great, but maybe it was my taste buds. Price was ok. The service was fantastic for take out. Very polite and helpful. Food was ready faster than they said. Every one seemed willing to help.
Deep dish pizza was really delicious. Was there with family and ordered medium sized vegetarian pizza along with salad, garlic bread and drinks. The pizza was thick and large and we couldn't finish it. In the end we had to cancel the salad and get the remaining pizza packed. Must visit once if you are in Chicago.
I've been coming here my entire life for deep dish. Just look at the menu online before you come and know your order at the door. That will make things less complicated and you will get your pizza faster
Great quality pizza, and excellent customer service. *cuz it was Carry-out, they even put the Pizza on a plastic bag to kee it warm, with plates and utensils!
Fantastic pizza, an experience you shouldn't miss out on if you're visiting Chicago!
The most delicious deep dish pizza. Cozy atmosphere...and our waitress, Niecey, was the best! Sergio served delicious drinks. We will be backa
Server at the entrance is being rude, impatient and unhelpful. All they care about is getting as many orders in as possible with no concern to helping people on what to get. That to me is too much combined with a wait time of more than an hour because their deep dish pizza takes that long to be prepared.
We really wanted to try some deep dish pizza during our visit, so we walked to this little place on a snowy night and had us some deep dish. The 45 minute wait for it to be cooked, seemingly standard, went by quickly. The meatball appetizer was amazing, as was our pizza! The chef oops'd and gave us a medium pie when we ordered a small - oh darn, extra delicious pizza! - and I promise we're doing just fine! I recommend this little place for a tasty bit of yummy pizza grub!
Definitely worth the wait. Very accommodating and love the historical ambiance! I’m vegan so they allowed and even recommended that I bring my own non-dairy cheese so that I was able to enjoy a deep dish pizza. Whole Foods is only a couple blocks away (less than 10 min walk) and they have all different types of non-dairy cheese. Delicious food! I definitely recommend, and will be back during my next visit to Chicago!
Quaint restaurant interior. Pizza had decent flavour. Friendly staff. The crust seemed like it may have been pre frozen unfortunately.
If you are looking for a juicy pizza, here you are! I even can’t call it pizza. Sorry.
A friend of a friend overnight shipped two from Chicago to Dothan Alabama. OMG. It was wonderful. I wish I lived closer to them.
Went to the original Uno's pizzeria. Service was good at the bar, else we had to wait 45+ minutes for a table. The deep dish pizza came quick, but the crust was soggy, so made us wonder if it had been sitting around. The toppings were great.
California guy finally gets real Chicago deep dish pizza. My waitress (from Redondo Beach) was awesome. We will be coming back before heading home.
We had deep dish pepperoni and some meatballs for appetizers. Both were very good. Service was good. The place is definitely cozy and not new but don't read that as a bad thing. I've seen some reviews saying they felt the place was dirty; I didn't feel that way. Overall fast experience and easy to get to off red line!
First time having true Chicago style pizza and everyone said this is the place to go for the original. The wait wasn't too long and I like how they take your order while you're waiting for a table. Small, but good beer selection.
Great place for Pizza. certainly a top place in the area. service is consistently above par. this place has a good atmosphere. similar to a place in denver i liked.
Historic charm, EXCELLENT deep dish pizza!! They have limited space indoors but there liquor and beer selection are very diverse!
My wife wanted to stop and try this place so much, we called ahead an order. This is where we went wrong.... should have went somewhere else. The online menu is not the menu they serve, so had to change everyone's orders. Then when we get there, find out call in orders are only for take out. If you want to sit and eat there it takes 45 minutes for the food to be cooked. So we take it to go. Now I have been everywhere in the country and multiple places overseas. I think Chicago deep dish pizza is the best hands down. So for me to say I was extremely disappointed is an understatement. Most people didn't finish the food, and I wish more and more I had taken a friend's advise and went to a Gino's east instead. I will never come back to this place again.
Uno's pizza is very traditional : different toppings of deep dish with many appetizer choices. They also offer a small selection of traditional Italian fishes like spaghetti. I've nothing against the pizza. I think it's amazing. My pizza came out with a slightly more overdone crust than I'm used to seeing at other places - resulting in a thick and crunchy crust. Other deep dish pizza places nearby can offer differently baked crust if that's not to your liking.
They took our order to move things along when we were waiting for a table which was nice. Good drink selection and a fun vibe. Problem was the pizza was a little underwhelming for Chicago, one of our two was undercooked and the crust was quite soggy , the other was good but just good.
The history, casual ambiance and service at this place are great. Pizza is good, though my personal preference goes to a couple of other spots in the city. They have a great system for eat in, to get your pizza cooking before you're seated. This makes the experience efficient. The atmosphere is crowded and festive, and the table service is wonderful.
Great, authentic experience in the heart of Chicago. Really busy, so I was a little dissapointed when the gluten-free pizza I ordered didn't arrive, but a delicious looking gluten pizza arrived instead. All was sorted out within minutes though.
Small, but really good place, fun stuff, deep dish pizza was excellent.
The deep dish pizza is a must try if you are visiting Chicago for the first time! Really unique dining experience, and an excellent atmosphere! :)
It's kinda the godfather of deep dish pizza but although the staff is the best in the business the wine selection is very basic and the pizza just OK. I used to come here as a young adult and it was fabulous.... Now it's just coasting on the reputation. That's kind of sad to witness. Common guys... Get your soul back!
Amazing pizza, great service, fascinating history throughout the place.
Great pizza, cool atmosphere. It's a must visit! Don't freak out when they tell you it's an hour wait, they take your pizza order right away and it takes that long for the pizza anyway
Outdoor seat...great waiter (louis)...good drinks! Pizza was amazing!
Wiat an hour for an individual pizza (small one) and nothing. We left the store after sitting there for more than an hour. Bad service. Don't recommend at all.
We were here during Memorial Day weekend. We waited an hour or so but we ordered our pizza while waiting for table since pizza take about 45 mins to cook. Our waitress, Niece, was kind and helpful. She made a fresh brewed coffee for my friend and it was good and updated us on why our food came out a bit slow.
The best deep dish pizza in Chicago, period! The quality, however, naturally means that you have to get a reservation beforehand if you don't wanna wait at least an hour for a table.
When I went to visit Chicago, I’ve gone to Uno for the deep dish pizza. I came for dinner, first sat at the bar and had some pretty good beer. Small pizza with Pepperoni, Mushrooms and Onions. It was the first time to try the original deep dish pizza. The pizza and the service were all good.
Didn’t get waited on for 15 mins after being seated, not even water. Pizza was bland and average tasting. Pasta was straight up awful, my 8 yr old could make better. Tables uncomfortably placed way too close to other tables and wait staff areas. Complete tourist trap. If you are looking for good service and fair prices, get your deep dish at other Chicago staples like giordanos and lou malnatis. Not here. This place is nothing special and left me very dissatisfied and embarrassed that I brought my out of town guests here.
Excellent and very nice place..if you are in Chicago you must go..
"Pizza" is good. Chicago style so it isn't pizza really, it's more like a pie. Still, is tasty.
Our pizza was below average....and the service was worse. Our server seemed like a nice person....but we continued to be overlooked, despite the fact they were far from crowded. Servers should also remember that personality is apart of the job...but everybody doesn't like to be touched and have you leaning in/over them. For someone so personal....our experience was far from it. Odd.
As a Chicago native, I’ve never had a worse deep dish pizza experience. I made the mistake of bringing 4 foreign friends from Europe and ended up feeling terrible for that decision. We arrived at 12pm on a Wednesday when the restaurant was not absurdly busy, yet the staff was incredibly rude to us. The waitress would roll her eyes at us as we were ordering and seemed to rush us through our meal. The worst part is when the pizza arrived - the server dropped the first piece of pizza on the table, splattering the sauce on me and my friend. We had the misfortune of wearing white that day. To make matters worse, the server then put the piece back on a plate and handed it to one of the guests at the table. Overall awful experience for lukewarm pizza. Chicago has many great deep dish pizza restaurants and I would urge you not to go to this one.
Awesome experience - a must for a 1st visit to Chicago - the staff made the visit
The food is beyond amazing. However, the prices and the waiting time are a large inconvenience if you want to eat here.
I ordered an individual numero uno, and all I have to say is... If your wait time is more than 30 min. don’t wait. The pizza was okay. If you’re unable to cross off Pizzeria Uno off your pizza places to try list, don’t worry! You won’t be missing out on much.
Very impressed with the classic Chicago deep dish pizza. It was alternately impressive for the allure of experience as to what put Chicago's pizza on the map, and Unos is it. The wait wasn't too bad-20 minutes for a party of 4-and when the pizza arrived, it was hot, fresh and ready to eat! It was a great treat to try something unique to me at the time and the cheese layered flavor was very different than standard pizza fare. The sauce was sweet but well prepared and not from a jar. The crust was a wall of crispy dough that was delicious. Nothing overpowered or overwhelmed anything and all the flavors and layers worked in concert. It was a great atmosphere too with a nice welcoming cadence. The wait staff was kind, prompt and efficient. I tried a salad as well which was also great, but pizza was the core king of the day and it was a spectacular taste of Chicago's culinary history. A highly recommended must for those visiting the Windy City.
So compacted place.. I went twice so far.. maybe if I come back here again, it'll be for my friends visiting out of state or Country, if they choose this place for Deep Dish pizza.. me? I'm not coming back here.
In my opinion, Pizzeria Uno is among the big three in Chicago for Deep Dish Pizza. The atmosphere there is great and it something that every visitor and Chicagoan should experience. The only downside is because they are so popular, you might have to wait for a table. But don’t worry, it is worth the wait!
Pizza was just okay. Just make sure if you're sitting outside, don't get seated on Wabash. It's so far from the other tables that the servers rarely check on you. We ordered a pizza and an appetizer and our table was so tiny that our appetizer fell off. Our fault I guess but I wish the waitress would had offered a replacement seeing as we had absolutely no room on the table.
The pizza was good. I bet there are other good places in Chicago for deep-dish pizza.
Still as good as I remember 20 yrs ago
The original Chicago deep dish pizza. It is downtown so weekday lunch is crowded. Parking in town costs an arm and a leg so park out and take the El in to the loop.
If you want to experience a true deep dish pizza from Chicago— then look no further! Pizzeria Uno does one of— if not the best deep dishes around. A word of warning: Expect a long line if you try to dine in at their dinner rush and a 45 minute wait for your deep dish pizza to cook (you can place your order when you put your name down for reservation).
Pizza is good (was expecting something amazing). Staff was very nice, order takes a long time - about 45 minutes - but or waitress told us in advance, what is nice, so the costumers can decide if they want to wait or not. The place is small, so even at 3 PM was very crowded. Still a good experience.
Had my first pan in 1966. Still the one and only pan pizza! Everything else falls short.
I don’t know why it got such high rating. Its my second deep-dish pizza in Chicago, and it was... average comparing to the former one (Lou Malnati’s). The service was ok. My seat got taken over while I went back to get my ID for the drink (3 mins).
Quality of the food was just alright. And that's about it. We were a group of five and waitress brought one order wrong type, two orders wrong size and one drink short. They did try to correct the order but the whole process seamed sloppy. Interior needs a remodel or at least a good scrub. It might be on pair for a bar but not for a restaurant.
They take full heart n soul to make it. Rush is always there but it's well managed. Have kept their reputation n CATALINA, my server was very nice n smiling. The lady taking the booking at the gates was very accommodative too. Medium is good for 2.
Cassie are server was on it! Very accommodating. Food was good.
This is where my folks had their 1st date in 1964. My son & I had to check it out. We loved the Chicago style deep dish pizza. The staff were so nice. Located real close to a parking garage. Worth the trip!
Good deep dish pizza, server was really nice and explained things great since it was out first time there. Really busy so plan for a wait during peak times
this was my first time trying deep dish pizza and this place totally ruined it for me i will never eat deep dish again the pizza literally was pie crust with mozzarella that tasted like store bought frozen cheese and tomato sauce that tasted like it came from a store bought can not to mention the place is extremely tiny and cramped as a very big guy i literally almost got knocked over or fell over several times just walking through and there were screaming little kids all around me i do not recommend this place at all the only silver lining was the service was very friendly but that's it
Great Pizza and beer!! Small dining space and really feel like you sitting too close to the people next to you....at least it was too close for me.
Excellent food, rich and tasty. The pizza gad very good quality ingredients and the beef was delicious. We have been welcomed by a friendly staff too.
Great deep dish pizza. I want to go back! Would definitely stop by here again. Ordered online with "slice" and the email said wait time was 15-20 minutes. Got there they said minimum wait time was 45 minutes. Waited an hour, got my pizza, continued driving to NY, realized the box said someone else's name. Oops. It was the same thing I ordered though. So not that big of a deal.
Tasty food, friendly staff but the wait can be really long as they don't take reservations.
Great place to eat deep dish pizza. The pizza takes 45 min to make. We ordered a small Specialty Uno pizza while we waited for our table. Fresh ingredients & great slices, great flavor!
Wonderful service. As the deep dish pizza takes 45 minutes to be cooked and the place is always full, the host ask you to place your order and when you are taken to your table your pizza is coming. Melody, our servant, was super nice. We got a medium pizza instead of the small one as an upgrade for being some of the last customers. The place is small but has a great personality and it's cozy at the same time. The crust is very tasty and the ingredients are fresh. Great experience!
I always wanted to try it and did. The staff are very very nice and helpful. We were seated for one table but because my "little human" could not reach it, we were moved to the booth. I love the booth. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish I do not know, I just wasn't wowed by the food. I ordered a passion fruit Margharita that came with a lot of salt on the rim and in the drink. I would not specifically go for food but it has a nice "ambiance" to have a drink with friends
Not for me. Service was great. Very nice people but didnt like the pizza. May be not for me
I'm from out of town and discovered that I don't really care for the deep dish style. I think they are excellent if that's what you want. The pesto was really tasty. And meat lovers should be happy! I added sausage to what would have otherwise been a veggie pizza. It came not as chunks, but as a solid disk of meat across the whole pie! The difficulty I had was with timing. I ordered takeout via the Slice app. A response email said to pick up in 30 minutes. Unfornately, it was 70 minutes from order time to ready, so I sat for a long time. They were incredibly busy. I don't mind whatever the time frame is, but don't have an auto-generated email that's out of touch with reality. I was actually puzzled. The hostess was telling each party that pizzas take 45-60 minutes to bake. So how could they ever say 30 minutes, even if they aren't busy? People love this pizza. It definitely deserves a place in the world.
We went to Uno expecting excellent quality pizza, but unfortunately the pizza was too soggy in the middle. We also got the veggie pizza and it did not have enough veggies. There are much better places for good deep dish pizza. We make deep dish pizza at home, and we feel that it is superior quality to UNOs. We would not recommend it.
The original. Still doing it old school. Their sauce isn't my favorite, but their deep dish is a solid bet with quality toppings.
Good pizza and the staff was friendly, but service was a little lacking. We were a party of five and waited for a table--which is totally fine because the place was busy--and noticed that another party of five was seated before us. When we were finally seated, the staff said our pizza was ready, though it came another 30 minutes later after reconfirming our order. Another staff brought us to-go boxes, which was funny because we were still waiting for our pizza.
Home of the original Chicago deep dish and one of my favorite local spots.
What a great historic place! Small, so expect lines, but definitely worth it! The deep dish pizza is absolutely delicious. So enjoyable! I look forward to returning next time I'm in Chicago.
Fantastic pizza. I loved it. I asked for extra onions and asked them to make it well done. It was very delicious. I normally like thin crust pizza but this thick crust didn't feel like thick dough of Flour. It is like crispy pie crust. The quality of cheese was also different than other pizza places. It is the best pizza in town. Service was good as well. The location is excellent.
Very delicious pizza. The wait is a bit long but it’s worth the wait time. It is a must visit in Chicago. I have ordered the Uno pizza but i would recommend to order a pizza with just few ingredients. The wine there is good. In general, it is one of the best place for deep dish pizza in Chicago or maybe the
This place serves the classical Chicago pizza called deep dish pizza. The Number One receipt is delicious. They also have a wide variety of local beers. One of my friends told me about this place. Bartenders awesome. Chicago classic for deep dish pizza. Delicious! Gotta go here to taste original deep dish pizza and the service and atmosphere was awesome!! I truly recommend it.
I've always loved this place... I was home in Chicago...from Urbana...been craving...needed a fix... DELICIOUS
Lots of flavour! Didn't expect it to be so damn good. Thought it would be mostly bread. But it's way more complicated. Super amazing
This place gave us dirty plates and the pizza took 2 hours. People coming in after us were eating before us. We ordered pizza at the beginning when we got here. They said it would take 45 minutes. When we went to sit inside after an hour and a half of waiting, they brought us inside and said our pizzas would be out shortly. Apparently they think that “shortly” is 45 minutes. Service is poor.
I’ve been at this place last night with my friends and since I‘m not the biggest pizza lover, I decided to order a normal pasta dish. Since they apparently have good pizza, I figured it would be good pasta as well. Sauce came out of a jar and soup as a side was way to salty and I wasn’t able to eat it. Service was friendly though !
Pizza looks good. My personal opinion I will not have cheese more. I saw a very thick layer of cheese on it. I you are a very good lover of cheese. Then it is the best place.
The pizza is worth going. The original deep dish; is it the best deep dish pizza? Possibly. It depends on your preference but, when it comes down to it they serve a hell of a pie here. I would fully recommend stopping. FYI Chicago deep dish takes 45 minutes to bake, plan accordingly
DEeeep disH
Deep dish done right. Staff was friendly and helpful!
As an open-minded Italian, I was really curious to try this famous Chicago's deep-dish pizza. We chose this place, which claims to have invented it over 70 years ago. We had to wait about 40 minutes for the order, which is absolutely normal for a deep-dish pizza, but that was totally worth it. Forget about Italian pizza, this is an American dish... And a great one! Rich, tasty, huge portion, quality ingredients. The staff was very kind and friendly too! 5+
The best deep dish pizza in the world
Probably the worst pizza I've had. Thought i would try a Chicago deep dish ... i had the veggie one. The scone base (not bread) was hard and the topping had no flavour/seasoning. The tomato sauce tasted like it was straight out of a tin! The only good thing ... i wanted a side caeser salad ... it was free.
Best Chicago style pizza I've ever had. I recommend it to all my friends visiting the city. There is often a wait to get in and for the pizza to arrive, but it's well worth it! I recommend walking there from wherever you're staying because parking can be an issue and you'll need to walk off some of the calories you eat here.
Food was very delicious. Lover our waitress. She is the reason I would love to come back. Only issue was a homeless women sitting outside of the restaurant with luggage and a customer or worker brung her out a glass of whiskey. She was rude and ignorant for no reason. Didn't understand why they served her and she had customers walking away.
The pizza is very good. People were very nice.
Best Chicago-styled pizza I've had. The beer selection was also pretty decent. The staff was really nice and accommodating. We had to wait a little bit for a table but not too long.
Quick Individual Bites ! Great Taste...Great Location..
Pizza was good. Crust was crisp and buttery. Had higher hopes but still very satisfied.
Ingredients were Soo fresh!
So delicious! Worth the 40 minute wait. Will come back for this
The true original Chicago pizza! Enjoy a crowded but quaint atmosphere with excellent pizza! In the summer the outdoor seating is nice. If you have a group you should definitely call ahead, don't just pop in.
Great food. Crowded but nice atmosphere friendly staff
Super friendly and accommodating for me, my son and our 4 beautiful ladies!
Great deep dish and great service
Very crowded for a good reason!! Really great deep dish pizza
A clear runner up to Lou Manalti’s. We got their classic Uno pizza which is loaded with ingredients from top to bottom. A small is more than enough for two people. Another great meal for under $30!
Not a family (small kids) managment friendly. Got kick out cause my 2 year and 4 year old were screaming and play while waiting to be seated, even we order all the food before getting seated. Manager treated my wife unrepectfuelly. This was my first time to Chicago and the last time I will ever visit this place.
The Pizza is excellent!!!!! Waitress was extremely friendly. Atmosphere was great. Worth the wait in line!!!!
Awesome food. First time to Chicago. Had to try the deep dish pizza.
Pizza was amazing and so was the beer. Was awesome to see where the original deep dish started
The best pizza I have ever had .. and great beer choices too.
Pretty rad to go to the original spot. Great beer list. Pizza was decent but I’ve had better deep dish.
This was my first time in Chicago and I wanted to try a Deep Dish Chicago Pizza. I read the reviews prior to going and seemed like a great place to try. I must say I was a bit disappointed. The place is kind of tight and small. Waitress sat us in the middle of the isles and I felt uncomfortable because it felt too tight. I asked for another table and she did move us to a corner table. We ordered the Uno with the works and the pizza wasn't bad , it was OK, it's just not what I imagined as a deep dish real Italian pizza. The hot wings were good tho.
This was my second time eating deep dish pizza in Chicago. I will say that I enjoyed my experience here a lot more than the first place that I went to. What I particularly appreciated is the system they have in place where you can order your pizza while you are waiting to get seated. As you may know, it takes around 40 minutes to an hour to prepare a deep dish pizza. Normally, you'd have to wait in line for about 40 minutes (during a busy time) and then up to an hour for the pizza. That's two hours of just sitting there dying of hunger as the delicious aroma of the food being served tortures you. Yet, with Uno, you don't have to go through that torture for such an extended amount of time since they have such a convenient system in place. Once we got in, we ordered the wings and they were surprisingly good. I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. Shortly after the wings, the pizza arrived and the taste was really good. Yet, there is a complaint that I have about the deep dish pizzas that I've had so far, and it is the crust. I am not a fan of it. I feel like the crust sometimes is too thick and actually takes away from all the other flavors. This is nothing against Uno, as I've experienced the same thing in the other places, but I wish the crust would be thinner or even tastier. If you are in the city and you want some deep dish pizza, this place is worth a visit. The customer service is really good.
Just be prepared to wait a long time. Not just at the door but once you are seated it takes a little while. Food is alright.
I love the hard crust with some extra sauce. Cute place, nice waitress. Across from eataly for great gelato and other sweets.
Attended the pizza making class... had a GREAT time.
We waited 20 minutes longer than we were told, the hostess got our order wrong, so after waiting a total of an hour and a half, we got one personal pizza to split among 4 people while we waited for them to fix the rest. Pizza was great, waitress was sweet, but other than that, my experience was horrible
Iconic! So cool to find the original deep dish pizza in Chicago. Friendly staff. Even found parking nearby
Really nice pizza restaurant. When you look at the menus don't be fooled into thinking you'll need to order anything bigger than a personal pizza per person. These are deep and meaty pizzas, unless you're sharing a personal pizza is plenty enough for one.
