First time here with our family. Excellent food. Grilled meats, soups and other dishes all done equally well. Opened 1997 and still going strong with same family patriarch. Very attentive to detail. We had a large party and they put us in a private room but easy for couples too to dine here. Very eclectic with a cheese plate sampler and Spanish wine just to make things interesting!

I would have to say this is by far one of the best customer service and Korean food I've ever had... I know others complained about the bad service but today we had a guy who was so attentive and so polite. He really was considerate and hospitable and the food was great and authentic! All my husband had to say was "This is soooo good" the whole time we were there.

Great Korean BBQ. I am a long time patron to Chungkiwa just a mile west, but this place is a good find. It is a little pricier than Chungkiwa and the overall meat volume is less but I personally think the marinate is more balanced. Besides it is real charcoal, not gas. The meat cooks so much faster and juicier. The stir fry dishes are good too. I mean if Psy visited here, it must be good right?

One of the Best Korean BBQ ever. Traditionally Galbi is cooked over wood charcoal. This Galbi has totally different taste that cooked by grill, oven, or using a non-stick frying pan. Owner and staff are really friendly. And Side dishes are so delicious. Surely I will visit again whenever I visit Chicago!! I Love Galbi cooked over wood charcoal!

Bad service. The menu was in Korean and had no photos. When ask about the dishes the person wasn’t very helpful. Over priced for meats. I ordered beef to grill and when they brought it to me it was already cooked....and on top of that it wasn’t good. Definitely not going back.

Terrible neng myun. (물냉면) It was the worst out of all the restaurants we have been to...and the shrimp fried rice bad too, had no taste or flavor. And it was our mistake ording a fried rice at the korean restaurant, but thats the only dish my son eats at any asian restaurants. I ordered bibim neng myung (비빔냉면) which was ok, and I expect to have restaurants make it decent or better than me, except I can taste so much MSG in the bibim neng myun, and I was correct, I suffered so much after I ate, knocked me out for good 2 hours in the car with extreme thirst. Oh yea.... don't order bibimbop either! The owner also gave me a check with wrong price, of course I double checked by looking at the prices on the menu. I confronted at the register, and the owner even had to check the price and fixed it. I wonder if their bbq is at least better than other itmes on the menu, because 3 out of 4 dishes were really bad.... wasted of money, and at least I don't have to worry about trying out ever again, since we live over 900 miles away!

Side dishes are smaller than the last time I came here. Most of them were potatoes, no variety. The menu is not really descriptive for non koreans so it's hard to figure out what to order. I ended up settling for something I could understand that wasn't bbq. It's also a bit more $$ for the small portions compared to other korean restaurants in Chicago. But service was great!!

BEST KOREAN BBQ IS THE SUBURBS!!! I love this place. Local family owned location that just cannot be beat! The food is outstanding. The side plates including kimchi are always flowing and always a delight. My personal favorite is the marinated ocutopus and chicken. The staff is alwas on hand. Clean location. Plenty of parking!

If you want the best Korean bbq, this is the place to go! It’s authentic and delicious. It’s a mom and pop place, small but worth the trip if you want Korean bbq done right. The charcoal vs. gas makes the food taste so much better. They marinate the meats perfectly and the side are plentiful. You won’t be disappointed!

Love this place! and Galbi was authentic and soo tasty! The texture of Galbi was very tender and thin so it was easy to eat and meal time was very enjoyable! Side dishes are so fresh, and the appetizer, the home made fried dumpling is hearty and awesome. The owners and restaurant staff are kind, engaging and mindful, and really made my dinner great and unforgettable! Definitely will come back!

I came with my husband for my birthday. I was a little nervous because my husband is a very picky eater and he's not very adventurous when it comes to food. I was surprised that not only did he finished his meal, he also enjoyed it. And the fact that he had to grill his own food did not turn him away. He was a little nervous when he saw the meat served raw but he quickly changed his mind once the meat we're grilled and he was able to taste them. We ordered the Korean beef and chicken barbecue with the sides. Very tasty and healthy too.

Great food, and probably the only open Korean restaurant in the suburbs. The service was excellent, and were very helpful and understanding, since we haven't tried Korean food before. Note that they have the bbq pit in each table as well, so their selection looks apt.

The food wasn't bad, the service was, and the prices were terribly expensive (for what you get). Two people costs about $60. the seating was pretty uncomfortable and the server was clearly uncomfortable speaking English. Honestly, if my rating was just about the food it would be a solid 3/5, but the experience is so much more than that. I also received my soda half way through the meal, no free refills here, folks! The waitress spent the majority of our meal playing with her phone, she only checked on us once and we did have to go to them to ask for the check. Part of me wants to tip the scales away from 4 stars because it is grossly overpriced and honestly it should not be 4/5.

Some of the best Galbi I've had anywhere, including in Korea (for the uninitiated, that's Korean BBQ grilled ribs). Great selection of Banchan (side dishes) as well. Everything looked and tasted incredibly fresh at reasonable prices. The owners and staff were wonderful and went above and beyond to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. Yes, you might bring some of the grill smell with you home but that's almost part of the experience when you have live charcoal grills brought out to your table. If I'm ever in the area I'm definitely coming back again, and again, and again...

Got the brisket and non marinated short ribs. Both were great. Best part is we got to cook it ourselves to our liking on a charcoal grill at our table. Service was really quick and everyone was really friendly. The side dishes came out right away and we liked all of them. Left happily full. Cant complain, definitely recommend.

This was such an awesome place to eat! Such an authentic Korean experience! The staff was extremely nice and very attentive. The place smelled amazing, the food was amazing, it was just amazing, okay? 10/10 would go again. The table was bussed thoroughly throughout our meal and the waiter came a perfect amount of times over to ask if we needed more sides or anything else. It was super nice to be "left alone" but also still be helped. I didn't feel like I wanted anything because I had it all! Also, alcohol was good. I'd also like to add that we didn't feel "looked down upon" when we asked questions. The waiter was VERY patient and was happy to explain any questions we had. My party of four didn't feel out of place even though it was our first time there.

Visiting Chicago from faraway Seattle, and we had the taste for Korean BBQ. After reading reviews for various restaurants the Chicago area, we chose New Seoul. The menu looked authentic, and the charcoal grills added a unique touch. We're used to gas. Wow, what a difference the charcoal makes. We ordered short ribs, tongue, jab chae, pork bulgogi, and seafood pancake. Every bite was fresh, and packed with flavor. The proteins were fresh, and expertly prepared. Sadly, we leave for Seattle tomorrow, but we will be back, hungry for more.

Whenever we have a craving for authentic Korean food, we would go to New Seoul. The owner and staff always made us feel welcomed and the food is consistently delicious! Our must have favs are seafood pancake, kalbi and kalbi soup (spicy and not spicy)!

Poor service, had to constantly go up to the server in order to ask for refills on drinks the only other option would be to wait until served again. Server would sit a few tables down from us and be on her phone, and neglect any sign that we needed assistance. Our food was constantly touched by the server who would grab the raw meat then place fingers in the bowls for the side dishes. At the end of the night the server reminded us that the bill does not come with tip and that we had to tip her atleast 20%. It wasnt suggested that we do that, it was mandatory that we tip that much. Normally that wouldnt be a problem but she demanded we tip her $30 when a 20% tip would have been well below what she was asking. Instead of arguing with her and risking her be more aggressive about her tip, we decided it would be easier to just leave the money and get out of there as soon as possible. Definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone, bad experience overall.

I took a group of 12 there in the evening around 8:30 after a long day of work training. It was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had! The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, and the prices were great! Something to note is that they don’t do separate checks for large parties so we just split the check 6 ways which still ended up just fine. Definitely more than enough food for a group of hungry 20-somethings. Would definitely reccomend for a first experience with Korean BBQ! *the owner(s?) also served on us and chatted with us and were just the sweetest people... I could tell they wanted us to enjoy everything as fully as possible*

Absolutley awesome first Korean BBQ experience here! We had great service and food tasted great. We were 2 adults 2 kids and ordered one marinated steak, one brisket, and 1 beef ribs. We could have done without the ribs, barely any meat on them. But kids loved the brisket and marinated steak was out of this world. All cooked on open charcoal..... u cant go wrong! All the slaads/sides complimented the flavors of the meat nicely! A 45 minute drive from home, but well worth it!!

Loved the marinated Korean BBQ and side dishes served here. The charcoal grill enhances the flavor too. For over 10 years the food hasn’t changed one bit, which is why I continue to love this place. It does get very smoky inside, and may need a better ventilation system. The menu may also be somewhat confusing if you don’t understand Korean. Service can improve too. Other than that, it’s definitely worth coming back.

We just got off a long international flight and we're looking for lunch with an outdoor table so we could sit with our dogs. The lady working was super sweet and helpful. We ordered a few plates to share (Korean pancake, bulgogi pork, and fried rice with shrimp). She went above and beyond and kept bringing us things to try. She even brought out rib scraps to feed our dogs and some melon after we finished eating. Great food, amazing staff.

We had so much fun coming here for dinner with my mom! We tried bulgoki and bbq pork (pretty much korean bacon, yum!) To cook on a charcoal bbq on the table. It came with a huge variety of little bowls of vegetables and condiments. We especially loved the bean paste, the onion and lettuce salad and the spicy pickle! Everyone at the restaurant was so friendly and attentive- bringing more tea, offering ordering advice, and extra veggies. I'll definitely be back!
