Service was great. Never had to ask for refills or more sides because the lady always refilled them whenever they got low (maybe because we were the only ones there). Other than that, I got the SoonDooBu and it was not good. Tasted watered down and way too overpriced. Quality of food is not good. Environment and ambient lighting is lacking. The only reason im giving 2 stars is because the lady was nice. Other than that, nothing special about this place

I've been here many times. Although it is expensive, it is some of the best Korean food in the area. Service is good if it is not too busy. Be sure to try other dishes on the menu, not just BBQ. Also a bottle of soju will compliment your meal.

Authentic Korean BBQ just like in Seoul. If you're looking for a top notch place to get real Korean food (and not some Americanized version) look to this place. The staff is Korean so don't expect American style service. It's not rude, it's culturally different.

Alot better than thought was. Alit of choices to put on your wrap or rice and meat. Was fun cooking your meat at table but once you do it once that enough. It was a bit high priced for 1 choice of meat and fixings to put on meat and soap, tea it came to 25.00 a little high for lunch. You do get a decent amount of food

Fast, casual service in a family owned kind of atmosphere. Had some dumplings as an appitizer, I've not had Korean style dumplings before and they were pretty good. We had the Bulgogi and it was fantastic. The condiments (mostly a variety of pickles and preserved vegetables) provided a great variety of tastes with every bite. The meat had a great flavor and was cooked just right. Definitely going back to try some of their Gogigui sometime. Very kind and attentive service. Good value too. The tables where you can cook together seem like they would provide an excellent place for conversation in this low-key but high quality establishment. Cell phones down, food on!

Before ordering the korean short ribs, I asked the server how is the meat quality. She looked away and responded that no one had complained yet. Guess what? I will be the first one to complain. Bad quality of meat, bad side dish and bad miso. Will not return.

Next time I WILL try the Korean BBQ! Had to start off somewhere though, so I the mandoo and dolsot bop. If you've never had Korean food before and you're in the neighborhood, I'd definitely recommend the mandoo and the dolsot bop as nice "water tester" can't go wrong. Staff is absolutely lovely! The whole dining experience overall is nice and the place has a nice quiet relaxing vibe. The sort of place you'd go to on a lazy weekend or a cold day.

While service was nice, the restaurant felt very empty and the food was not up to par like many of the Korean places in chicago and Northwest suburbs. The noodles were a bit bland and the side dishes were left to be desired.

The food here is nice. Grilling is done on charcoal rather than gas and the result is a marked improvement in flavor for the meat. Side dishes are plentiful but forgettable. The spiciness is generally medium or medium-high at most. If you're used to spicy foods it will taste mild. Service is OK as there's nothing extraordinary but the waitress was attentive. The reason why it's 3 stars is because the prices here are astronomical and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant and quantity of food did not match the cost. A bowl of tofu soup should never cost $12 with no additional qualities. There is no soda fountain so soft drinks are non refillable. In the summer the interior of the place gets quite warm. If we're out of options we could return here in the future but it's low on the list.

The food was quite good, however our order was wrong and the waitress did not know what tofu was despite it being plainly listed on the menu. When we were ready to pay, the server was eating with her friend so we had to wait for a while and eventually go retrieve her. Just not a great experience.

Never had a bad experience here. Always get the bulgogi (marinated beef) , gal bi (marinated short rib) , or pork to cook at the table and we can always finish all the might. Great sides, sauces, and lettuce wraps to eat all your delicious meat with. Always take groups of friends or family for a delicious, fun and unique dining experience. If you've never had Korean BBQ before or even if you have, New Korea Garden is a must. As a plus the people working there are some of the nicest people I've ever had at a restaurant, definitely the nicest people of a Korean BBQ. Also tends to be better decorated than a lot of other Korean BBQ around, give this place a shot and it will keep you coming back.

This is an Authentic Korean place... Original recipes that my grandmother made when I was a kid! Coming from a Korean, you won't find this level of original Korean recipe elsewhere in the area. Plus, the BBQ is cooked with actual wood, not gas! MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Great authentic Korean. I've lived all over the US and I haven't found a place this good in over 10 years. Not only is the food great but so is the service. You feel like family from the time you walk in until the time you walk out. Great for a date night with the hubby or a girls night out. Highly recommended!

Good food, great service. The Korean BBQ is great here, but don't be afraid to order the other dishes. Unless you see something that catches your eye, you can skip appetizers and just enjoy the Korean side dishes instead. Finally, try a shot of suju to complete the experience.

Awesome mom and pop place. Amazingly authentic food and the coal grill makes the meal entirely different experience from traditional Korean places. Service might be a little slow, but it's certainly worth it. Looked like an older couple working very hard and delivering fantastic food.

The staff were extremely friendly. Our waitress even offered to take a picture for us on my Polaroid camera! The restaurant itself was fairly clean, but the atmosphere could use a little bit of improvement (more lighting, more decor) given the price of going to this restaurant. Although the Korean BBQ was absolutely delicious and came with all sorts of fresh sauces and sides including pickled vegetables, it was overly expensive considering the scant amount of meat we were given.
