Went there for Breakfast. Everything I had was Very good. I had eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and Pancakes.. the pancakes were especially good. Definitely Will go back. LUNCH next time. Great prices & Service also!

All the food and juices are incredibly fresh and flavorful! Great range of menu items while still sticking to the breakfast classics. Don't think any items on the menu are doing anything revolutionary, but can count on consistent, high-quality meals served fairly quickly and relatively inexpensive. With that though, there is a bit of a "coldness" to the wait staff that seems to just kind of keep moving you along from your ordering through table clearing but not a big deal if you're not looking to stretch the meal out.

I might be dismissed being one of the few but I will stand alone and do whats wright. The place is in a nice location, decent atmosphere but within its walls lies a secret... its infested with critters. I know this because I worked at this location and could not be happier being gone. I know the ins and outs of the kitchen and its a sight... of nightmares. I have seen roaches in the dozens in the food prep area, by the dish washer (I was told the roaches like the warmth of the machine). This might explain why I have seen them in the kitchen by the stoves and even on the cutting boards. I was disgusted by this I have never worked in a kitchen with critters, so this was a first and I brought this up to management to which they scuffed and said its being taken care of. It has not and I have been told by other coworkers that the roaches come and go in numbers but they are always around. This is problably linked to the inefficient cleaning techniques (the half mop half sweep) and the uncovered food left out for the next shift to deal with. Now my advice to you if you decide to read this avoid this place or be conscious of the problems this place has.

I made a Ritual order with Meli Cafe. I had their eggless tofu scramble. I'm going to start by saying it did not resemble a scramble at all. Just cubes of tofu and chunks of vegetables. Second it had absolutely no flavor and wasn't even seasoned at all. And they served it with ketchup? Like what was I supposed to do with that. Overall not worth it at all. Would not come back.

Very nice, but avoid the “bar” service on busy mornings. On Mother’s Day a few years ago the bitter and disinterested guys behind the bar gave my breakfast to the fellow sitting next to me; he said it wasn’t his, after taking a bite; and a bar guy dumped it in the trash right under my nose. I tried to attract the attention of everyone passing by in their furious rush, but they ignored me, and I left, very unhappy with the whole experience. Conversely, I’ve always had good experiences with the waitresses and table service on normal mornings. And the burger is good, at lunchtime.

We went here for Sunday brunch and there was no wait for a party of two. The mimosas are a reasonable price and come with fresh squeezed OJ. I ordered an omelet (I forgot the exact name) with potatoes and it was very good. My friend ordered a seasonal special-kiwi and strawberry crepes which she enjoyed. I would definitely come back again when in town!

I shared the jalepeno skillet with my boyfriend for breakfast. We loved it! So tasty and fresh. Came with 2 slices toast. I got the gluten free,so glad that was a choice, and he got the wheat. Bread was fresh too. Came with whipped butter and homemade jam, I'm guessing bc it tasted like someone just made it. Would definitely go back again!

Food under cooked where the eggs Benedict egg whites were slimy, potatoes where cold, two sides of bacon was 3 peices, and once our food was cleared it took over 30 min to get our credit cards back. The best part was that our credit cards were charged to the wrong ticket. When we were leaving we couldn't get out because the tables were so close together. It felt like a trap and was an awful experience.

The food was good and the drinks as well. But the service was very bad. Ok - we were here on mother’s day with two young kids. All others already got served while we still were waiting. Asking for the food didn’t help a lot. Then they mixed up the whole order. My wife got the wrong shake (ordered strawberry and got peanut butter -> allergies risk) and then they forgot about the extra bananas for our kids. Served them after they almost finished. Not good at all.

Great selection of breakfast choices including vegan options. I recommend the Seeded French Toast with bananas and strawberries made with no eggs. Waitstaff was kind and courteous. Food was delivered quickly and hot. We stayed longer than typical as we were visiting with fiends and getting lost in conversation. We never felt pressured to rush or close out or bill.

Food was ok. The kale and spinach skillet was decent. The spinach was a bit overcooked. The pancakes were literally the worst I've ever tasted. Dont even try the pancakes. The waitress seemed to be more abrupt and lacked eye contact once I asked for them to be taken off the ticket. Idk. From this one experience, I wouldn't be in a rush to go back. Nice, clean neat place overall.

Ok I’m going to be very honest abt this. The food here was delicious the problem was the service! I hated being here bc of how uncomfortable the servers made me. The waitresses were so mean! They were very clearly making fun of customers in the restaurant- one kept staring over at me and laughing while whispering to another waitress. they all gave me really dirty looks when I came in and sat down... and continued to do so the entire time I was there. No one greeted me to begin with. It was so insane.. one asked me if I wanted more coffee as soon as I picked up a phone call even though my coffee was completely full. I genuinely think this was done like weirdly on purpose. The whole time I was there I was stared at and made uncomfortable until I left. I tried my best to ignore them until i was done eating. When I asked for my check the waitresses hovered over me and watched how much I tipped etc. then opened the check before even leaving my table to see how much I left. i’m visiting from NYC i’m used to rude servers! but this was on another level. despite how good the food was - i’ll never come back here. if you’re still tempted to come — bring a friend so the servers don’t gang up on u.

I discovered Meli's on accident while on my way to an interview. I had literally about 30 minutes to spare and knew I needed to eat quick enough in order to leave and get to my next destination. The staff was super helpful and quick to get breakfast out to me it literally took under 10 minutes. The pancakes were amazing and super fluffy and the strawberries were so fresh and not tart. And it's quite possibly the best bacon I've ever had at any breakfast location. I truly enjoyed my breakfast even tho I came and left within 20 minutes, I hope I get the job so I can be a regular!

Overpriced and tasteless, with terrible service. The French toast was burned and had a sour flavor, the poached eggs were hard, the Hollandaise was so weak that it was completely overpowered by even the English muffin, and the broccoli in the omelette tased frozen. It’s sad to think that we would have enjoyed a Qdoba breakfast burrito substantially more.

I went to Meli cafe twice with friends over the weekend. Saturday was a great experience so we decided to go again on Sunday. On Sunday our waitress was visibly ill. We saw her going to the restroom covering her mouth multiple times during our visit. We didnt get served after being seated for 30 minutes so we tried to ask the manager what was going on all he said was that the server would be back in a minute. Finally after the sick waitress came back we ordered.The waitress seemed to be struggling with ringing in our order and it took her about 10 minutes to get it in. We watched her talking to what looked like management and it seemed as though they would not allow her to leave. We were uncomfortable with the fact that they were allowing a sick person to serve food so we asked another waitress to bring out our food. When the food came out my friends order was wrong and when we got the bill the waitress rang it up wrong. We had to wait about 10 minutes for her to fix it. The manager came over while we were waiting and we explained what happened he said "well did you try to split the bill 5 ways?" Which had nothing to do with the problem... We know that it is not the waitresses fault that she was sick but we do not think the situation wasn't handled properly. No one once gave us an apology for the situation. Very very poor service but decent food. No one should be working while they are ill it puts customers in danger.

Never got to eat. The wait was intolerable from point we walked in the door. The host seemed very disinterested and completely forgot he gave us the alert device for waiting. Two different waitresses came to take our order as the first one lost the paper with an entire order for five people after an hour of being there. Worst service I've ever had.

Food was not what I expected, my sister order the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was dry with no flavor, but this could well be, because we asked them not to put the bacon mermalizer. It was okay. The server clearly forgot about us and it wasn’t busy. How do you bring coffee with no cream and still not come back with cream or come back at all. I had to ask the buss boy for cream. Had to request a different server and she was great. Probably wouldn’t come back because of the service but the food was pretty decent. Wildberry & The Yolk is def better value though.

Extremely disappointing. For reference, I'm vegetarian, mostly vegan. I had high hopes when my smoothie came out (the reason for 2 stars, not 1) but honestly, the tofu scramble was insulting. Came out cold, unseasoned, and the dish was just a few blocks of tofu and barely cooked veggies. We gave it a chance but no amount of salt and pepper in the world could have saved this dish. So we flagged down the waitress and tried to explain our problems. She didn't seem to understand but offered to have it remade. No luck. Exact same issues but at least it was hot this time. Ridiculous. Don't have veggie items on the menu if you can't cook them.

One of the worst waiting experience I've had in a long time. Call the restaurant asked how long the wait was and was told "15 minutes". Put my name on the list and headed over (5 minute walk from where I was). Check in with the host, gave them my name and then I received a buzzer. So far so good and nothing out of the ordinary. I then waited another hour for a table. This place was clearly busy and being told it was a 15 minute wait when it took an hour is unacceptable. 1 star for completely lying about the wait time.

Completely incompetent. I wish I could comment on the food but unfortunately we didn’t get that far. We put our names in and we’re told the wait would be about 15mins, mind you the place is not crowded. Twenty five to thirty five minutes later the buzzer still does not go off. We are finally seated and given water immediately by whom I believe was the bus boy. Another fifteen minutes and finally our orders are taken, which we rushed to put in because of the lack expediency. Another twenty minutes goes by and a separate server comes by to take our order....What? We advised her that are order was already taken. Finally our original server comes by to inform us that the “paper was lost” and she would need to take our order again. Your job is to take orders and submit them, you don’t even have the responsibility to make the food. Again the place was empty. This is a completely unprofessional environment and very apparently biased to people of color. Take your business elsewhere.

When we lived in Chicago we frequented the Meli on Halsted, and it always was outstanding. But, after our breakfast at Meli on Wells on May 2018, I can't recommend it. Go to Beatrix instead; it's just a few blocks away.

This place has a big menu with a wide variety of options. It is suitable for many different diets. My husband and I go here often and take guests who visit us. It's really fast and the price is fair. Portions are huge, so we often substitute a side of potatoes for fresh fruit.

This is our favorite spot for brunch. We like this location because is bigger than the one we used to go (halsted). There is virtually no waiting. The service is consistent and same flavors. One of the few places where you can order carrot juice. You can modify things from the menu and make your own requests. Also enjoy the music from the place.

Got my order wrong. What really bugged me was the service. With every interaction, the work made it very clear she felt awkward. Asking for drinks gave us a weird face from worker. Maybe because we arrived 20 minutes before closing? Still, very disappointed.

We walked in at 10:45 AM on a Sunday morning. There were about 4 people in front of us. We ended up finding seats in the bar area right away. The service was great, and even as crowded as they were, the food made it out in good time. The meals are hearty and delicious, so come prepared with an appitite. The prices are very fair, especially with the amount of food provided. By the time we left at 11:30 AM there was a line out the door, so get there early if you can.
