The food is great. However, prepare to wait 30 minutes for tacos. This time I called in and was put on hold for 12 minutes so I hung up. I called back and the line was busy. By this time I was in front of the restaurant so I had no choice …

Jameka Martin

There was nothing wrong with the food it was just too much seasoning for me. But the fish tacos was my favorite

Stuart Domijan

Food was fresh and tasty. Loved it.

TJ McKinney

The best steak tacos in Chicago

Dave Oswald your the best

Portions like guacamole and beans like 3 bites. Foods good but yoll pay for it

Aryanna Torres

Wonder wonderful place!!!!!! Food is unbelievable. Best guac and green salsa everything tastes so fresh! Love the energy of the place. However, it is cash only!!! They do have an atm but there are fees so bring some cash! Highly recommend: horchata, limeade, steak and marinated chicken taco/burrito, fresh guac and chips! Be sure to stop by this local treasure !

Holly Staron

Love their tacos! I always get the steak and the pepper ones and am never disappointed. Just wish the guacamole wasnt so $$

Joseph de la Rosa

Everything here is quality! Tortillas are handmade, meats are well seasoned, and the veggies taste like they were just harvested. They usually have a daily taco special so I almost always grab one of those. My usual order consists of a chicken burrito and the veggie taco of the day (most recently roasted cauliflower w/ spinach).

Andrew McGowan

Great shop with delicious food. Hardworking staff. Cash only.

Andrew Williams

First off, this place is CLEAN! They have a Michelin star and it shows. Second, their cleanliness is rivaled by their delicious and high-quality Mexican cuisine. I had the Carne Asada Burrito and a bottle of Topo Chico sparkling mineral water. I couldn't finish the burrito. It was big, hearty and amazing! My friends ordered tortas, chips and salsa, and tacos. Everyone was very happy and very, very full. This is the best Mexican food I've had since moving back from living in both San Diego and Tijuana.

Noel Maldonado

Walked in and walked out! Cash only! For expensive tacos? What are they hiding from? IRS?

Eric Colson

Great place, great food!

Frank Zamarripa

Made to order and super tasty. It may take a bit, but the food and service are always worth it.

Gamer victora Gonzalez

Good food but prices too high

Rusty Shackleford

Really good, simple, traditional tacos which don't rely on a million toppings to shine. The show of the star here is the excellent quality meat, homeade corn tortillas, and excellent salsa roja and verde. Everything is fresh, and the tacos are perfectly well-balanced between meat and veggies for the perfect crunch.

Ian Zywica

Seating out back is awesome, so is the food. Casual and we'll done.

Worst experience ever!!!!! Worlds best burrito is a pretty bold statement for this place. Will never go agai . I'd rather eat a rat caught in the alley behind this place. Maybe that's what it was.........

Alexis Cerezo

Ordered a steak burrito and a large horchata drink. Both were delectable. The restaurant was clean and inviting.

Preston Hogue

I live this place! I wish I still lived as close as I used to. It was a favorite for my roommates and me for a long time. Prices have gone up over the years but the flavors are so good I think it’s still worth it. Favorite is lomo!

Carla Lopez

I hate coming here because stock is always low or gone for everything I need/want EACH TIME. It's a mess on weekends. You wait in the line for 1 hour. No staff there acts like they like their job or take it seriously.

Martin Kopec

Great place for Mexican food. Steak, Shrimp and Pork (Pastor) tacos are all very tasty. They are cash based so make sure you have some with you or use the ATM on site. If for some reason the ATM is out of money or not functioning they will accept credit cards.

John Sigman

Food is ex excellent they make all the food by hand The shells made in house delicious food I highly recommend it

Dana Bloom

A feel good small restaurant with authentic Mexican food. They make it fresh and that's the way it tastes. I like the chicken burrito with everything and usually get a side of homemade chips with guacamole. The chips are warm and crispy and the guacamole has a creamy texture with great taste and a sprinkle of cranberries! I also like a lime Jarrito drink. Prices are good. I gave it 4 stars because the food is great & staff is friendly and efficient. Drawback, if you go at a busy time like lunchtime, you may not get a seat or you may be waiting in line to get it!

Zeeshan Shah

Love this place! Great, consistent tacos and everything else. Don't forget! Cash only! But if you do forget, they have an ATM.

miguel garcia

I order al pastor burrito when I was eating it tasted like grilled onions with no meat .where did the meat go?

Alvin Arroyo

Great food n service

Cassie F

Great food, fast service, friendly staff

Ashley Beckwith

My favorite Mexican place. The Gringo is to die for! I would highly recommend making a special stop to check this place out. Just beware they're cash only.

luis reyes

Bomb tacos, fresh simple Ingredients. Only thing is wish they took debit cards. It's a cashless society. So bring cash. I recommend the L'Patron taco so delicious.

Janette Rodriguez

Really good food. Very relaxed atmosphere with good service. They have a nice patio in the back, perfect for al fresco dining.

Matthew Gall

Still the best carne asada and Al pastor I have found in the city. Not as frequent a visitor since they moved from Diversey and I moved away from Logan, but quality still the same. And the patio is a nice addition!

Carlos Trejo

Great tacos in Logan square. The orchata was on point. The gringa dish was great as well. Bring a 12 pack and enjoy your own beverages. The outdoor patio is a cool hangout.

Justin Golden

Great food. I'm glad that it isn't closer to where I live because I'd be 20 lbs heavier

DRAGON_FRUIT 11

Great service as well as good tacos although the salsa could be better.

Randall Reynolds

For sure my favorite taqueria on the north side! BYOB FTMFW!!!!

Megan Koren

This vegetarian burrito is the best I have ever had. They change up the ingredients but they always include real, freshly cooked vegetables. Many other restaurants just put lots of rice and cheese into a burrito without actually adding vegetables. This burrito is packed with flavor and veggies.

Gregg Cooke

Ordered the lengua burrito...fantastic! Red sauce is best I've had in Chicago. Check out their garden seating in the back -- very nice on a warm night.

Marideliz Ortiz

Food taste amazing. The flavor amazing. Tacos are little bit more expensive than at other Mexican Restaurants, but worth it. Some good spicy grilled shrimp tacos. Small place, gets packed.

Hassen Al-Shawaf

Nestled between Hermosa and Logan Square, L’Patron offers up some excellent tacos served on house made corn tortillas. Carne Asada and piscado tacos seem like the stars, while the pollo comes out on the dryer side. Don’t forget the guacamole and house made chips. If Logan is too far, find their food truck in the loop on weekdays during the lunch hour. Clark and Monroe or LaSalle and Adams are good bets for location.

Jonah Berg-Ganzarain

very overpriced. 3 places on the same block with better tacos for half the price.

Sarah Johnson

They have the best Pastor Tacos in Chicago. Bring cash and don't forget to try the guacamole.

Imad Hashmi

Very speedy food delivery and the food didn't disappoint whatsoever. I recommend the steak burrito as I think it's the best bang for the buck. The only critisism I have is they charge $.25 per cup for water. While it's illegal to charge for water, they find a loophole with the cups, shady business practice.

Big Los

Any true Latino knows this place is not all that!! $3.00 a taco?? Only if your white and never had a good taco, and half the time they give the wrong order

Katherine Lucero

I don't even know where to start. You just HAVE to try these tacos. My theory is that a good taco place has great tacos de carne asada - And these were ahh-maz-ing! Just a tad more expensive per taco than I'm used to but no big deal when good tacos are concerned. I can't stress it enough - go try these tacos!

Leah’s dancing world 3000

Super good but they make you use the ATM

Jonathan Gostelow

My favorite taco joint in Chicago. Cheap and tasty. My favorites are the al pastor and carne asada.

Courtney Prokopas

Excellent selection for veggies and meat eaters alike. Super fresh and tasty!

Fani Burikas

Really disappointing. Went in to try the "5th best burrito in the country" and got a mediocre steak burrito. Was a little pricey and they charged me for a cup of water...I would be given it 2 stars but the ants on the table turned it to a 1 star for me.

Cristian Luna

The quality has gone down and price has gone up. I've been eating their food since their old location and this place used to have good food. However, I can't say the same anymore. The meat was burnt and had a funny taste. Even if they would've been okay they are still overpriced. I was very disappointed.

Aaron Brown

Best Al Pastor in the city. You certainly pay for it though! Would go back.

Robert Dean

Well had higher expectations for the steak taco. But I'll stick with the hole in the wall spot I've been going to for 20 years. On the other hand the pastor was one of the best I've ever had !

Anthony Vega

Not a lot of available seating and the beans we're watery. It makes up for it in tasty main courses.

U DotFam

Flame seared steak cooked on point and served on homemade tortillas, why go anywhere else. Al pastor is not like the others serve it so get one of each. Corn in a cup is also key. Thank me later

Anai Rebollar

After all the reviews decided to come in! Not impressed, I had high expectations.. Now, if you think they have the best tacos you obviously haven’t had a GOOD taco. The tacos are not to bad they are okay but I wouldn’t come back.

Dashly Ruidias

Terrible service. Disrespectful waitress

Bob Elliott

When they moved the food was lessor quality but it is back to excellent again

Jonathan Hill

Great food. Great outdoor seating. This is our summer taco joint. And it's BYOB. Don't tell many people though. It's still relatively easy to get a spot on the patio.

Aaron St. Rivera

Best steak tacos in Chicago! Not even close. So consistently good. Service is incredible as well.

Relean Kanaki

Yesterday was my first time trying L’Patron’s famous steak tacos, in a food truck. My kids ate it and complemented the chefs and my husband loved the steak torta. I had a steak burrito and it was delicious. Will stop by more often

christopher banks

Simply the best Mexican I’ve had in Chicago. Idk what they do to their meats but it’s absolutely amazing. A tad bit expensive for Mexican Food. Considering you can get something that is not as good but close to El Patron for $1.50 less per taco and burrito. Because of that I’m a once in a month visitor.

Brandon Postel

These are probably the best tacos and burritos in all of Logan Square & Wicker Park. My go-to is the Asada, Pastor, Pescado, and Diablo Shrimp! They typically have a special taco if the day for $3, and my only complaint is they rarely accept credit card (only if their ATM is down, which happens a lot). This tells you they have the ability to accept card, just choose not to in order to save 2% on fees. I feel like we are moving into a cashless transaction world, and I never have it on me. Or at least never seem to carry enough when I happen to be here. Maybe it’s good for me since I feel like I would probably spend way more money if they accepted credit card.

Jennifer Sgro

Get the El pastor tacos to improve your life

Madeline Vazquez

I think they did a better job when they were on California diversey The food is good but too pricey What was something amazing turned into something basic

Jose Perez

This place by far has some pretty good tacos. I would drive out of my way to get them. They are BYOB which is always a plus. The meat is very well cooked and flavorful. The guacamole is also pretty good. Depending on what time of day you come there can be a crowd but I usually try and stay away during high traffic times like lunch, and dinner obviously. I have had no big crowds to deal with by going outside of peak times. They are a bit pricier than some other places but this place is definitely worth it. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

Edgar Lopez

Really good burritos. Steak burrito is the best.

Osvaldo Nunez

This place is so overhyped. Carne asada tacos are very dry and burnt to charcoal

Nat G

The best ribeye tacos ever, you can tell they care about the food because it tastes like it’s made with love and their brand concept in general is a little different than most joints.

Quentin Delgado

Good service good food ! Tacos made with freshly made tortillas a definite plus. Only thing once and a while the chicken tacos I received were a little on the dry side. Other than that not bad.

Edgar Leyva

The tacos are mediocre over priced our first time there we were excited and very hungry . The tacos were very small with only onion and cilantro with a 300 dollar price tag. No waitresses you order at the counter and wait for your name to be called and then you go back to the counter for your food. No chips or salsa at the tables . The girl at counter was friendly and polite. Our main issue was concerning the price and quality of the tacos because that's all we had the meat was tough and overcooked, big chunks of carne asada and al pastor meat. We won't be going back hopefully they'll step up the quality and bring down their prices.

Zach Lome

My favorite Al Pastor in the city. And honestly their elotes preparados are obscenely good.

Andrea Vera

I only every get the steak tacos and they’re consistently damn good!

Floyd Tillis

Excellent food. Best I've tasted in a while.

Nicki K

This place is amazing. Everything is prepared wonderfully. Definitely worth the hype.

Desiree.n .Eduardo

Oh my gosh amazing . The place is amazing from the service in the door to the food quality to out the door "see you next time" ....the carne asada taco oh my gosh idk how they take a simple taco and up the game but if you haven't tried …

Hugo Mendez

Had burrito it was great was a little late to pick up my food but it was no problem they kept it warm will return

KAREN OBREGON

THE STAKE TACOS CAN BE BETTER. THEY WHERE BLEND IN FLAVOR. WENT IN ONES NEVER WENT BACK. TOO LAZY IN SERVICE.

Salil Gandhi

Food is really good. I think it's a bit expensive for what it is.

Jose Guzman

Amazing steak tacos and great lemonade. Cash only, but worth it.

Rebeca Nicolas

Great place to eat, the steak had a little bit to much salt but other than that the food is great, just wish they had more seats.

Ivan Ruiz

Finally I went to EL' PATRON wow!!! tasty shrimp and tilapia tacos very tasty instead of lettuce they put in cabbage with creamy sauce and a little spice the shrimp dipped in beer batter yes indeedy I do recommend this restaurant portions are small you order at the cashier and give your name and have a seat when order ready they will call you over the intercom. Friendly staff. This location is clean.

Kelly

Solid horchata, great tacos

Phillip Dixon

The Best burritos in the city and the pico de gayo is amazing sweet and tangy at the same time.

Cris Shipman

I love this place. Everytime in Chicago we come here for guac and tacos!

Abraham Villalobos

New favorite spot

Ken Jungwirth

This place is simply the best taco.shop.in Chicago! Steak is amazing and.that An Pastor is charred perfectly! Try the limeaid mixed with watermelon.juice when they have it.

Garrett Byrne

A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, L'Patron serves some seriously delicious Mexican food! When I eventually found this place, I ordered the guacamole with chips, which was amazing, followed by steak taco, chicken taco and pork taco. The flavours were fantastic and well worth the trek out here.

Justin Maresh

Delicious food with amazing flavors. The recipes here are inventive, especially the vegetarian items. So delicious. I always look forward to eating here.

Yuriy Siderov

Favorite Logan area Mexican joint. Picture includes Poblano taco with added avocado Diabla Taco Veggie taco of the day

Meagan McKinnon

The best quality ingredients and recipes! One time they were closed so I went down the road to Raymond's... Never again. Do not settle, go to L'patron! They do a different daily veggie taco, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere and shaded patio. Sometimes they are cash only? Just bring cash. BYOB

Lay Shaf

The food was on point. Flavorful meat.

Gregory Heller

Got carne asada burrito, marinated chicken burrito, and chips and guac. The burritos were good, comr with avacado, beans, lettuce. The guac was a little weird, alot of cilantro and had cranberries

Michael Cote

The tacos and burritos are among the best you’ll find in Chicago. However, they seem to mess up my order about once out of every five or six times I visit. Today they had a broken fryer, completely forgot about our order, and then accidentally switched steak for chicken. All that said, the food was excellent.

Jason R

It's a clean and festive place for authentic tasting Mexican food. I had a vegetarian burrito that was really tasty. The service wasn't lightning fast but it wasn't slow either. Prices are fair here. I'd go back again for sure.

Cynthia Hernandez

Love love love!!! Real deal tacos!!! Back patio is super chill.

undefined

Great service but place is over priced. Seems like some people don’t know a good steak taco or burrito. Meat was burnt and absolutely no flavor. I never use salt on my food but for this food I actually used it. Hardly any sour cream or beans on it. They put plenty of lettuce and tomato though.

Jorge Martinez

L'patron! Oh boy, do they have DELICIOUS Steak Torta. Really enjoy dining in. They are byob so that is a PLUS for me! Can't wait for the summer to step into the back patio enjoy a cold brew and a hot steak tortaaa! Witnessed this place grow since their Diversey and California days!! Stay Gold L'Patron! Stay gold!!

JHFINFO

Somebody give the owner a clue.

Jacklyn Humphrey

Order from here every single Friday with coworkers. They remember by order and make me feel like family, always going above and beyond for us! Highly recommend the poblanos rajas tacos! Not even a vegetarian and they are my favorite thing on the menu!

edwin rivera

High end tacos but no meal deals..prices to pricey

Sammy Zaucedo

4th time experience, and the food always disappoints.

Natalie Fetzer

Steak tacos to die for. Probably the best steak tacos I've ever had. Wouldn't pass this place up.

Brenda Campbell

VERY GOOD..VERY FRESH

G Suarez

Really good Mexican food. you order at a counter and they call your name when ready. Outdoor patio is great when weather is nice. They charge you 25 cents for water which seems a bit petty.

Matt Sprahhh

Best tacos I've ever had. Their guac is delicious. I cant go here without getting a gringa. Sooo good

Kelly101Girl

Burritos are pretty good. Tacos aren't bad but I've had better tbh but overall a place worth visiting at least once. Food is pricey and takes way too long. Just got back on a Saturday evening and waited well over 15 mins inside the restaurant to receive food. Probably better to order over the phone since you will be looking at 30 mins minimum wait time

Didier Castillo

The steak and shrimp tacos are delicious! I've had tacos from other places but this places uses Chunks of steak

Christopher Chmelar

Always great food and quick service!

Salvatore Sciacca

Really tasty tacos in a fun upbeat environment. Very friendly service and vegetarian options. Tacos are freshly made and burritos are outstanding!
