They changed their hours no longer open until 4 but have not updated it online. Came in at 2:30, stood around with a toddler on my hip waiting for help. I had to walk to the back of the restaurant and go up to a waitress to ask whether I sit any where or do I have to wait to be seated. She tells me that the restaurant is now closing at 3:00 and they stop seating at 2:30. Would of been nice to know prior to standing around while being ignored.

My wife and I came in for breakfast on a weekday. Staff was super attentive and friendly. We both ordered the Southwest omelette without jalapenos and a side of pancakes. The omelette was tasty, my wife said it didnt feel like an omelette because it had too many ingredients. The pancakes were really good. Crispy and fluffy, perfectly made. Will be visiting this location again!

I always enjoy the food and experience when eating, employees are always polite and are very clean. Just make sure you are their before 3:35 pm or they wont seat you do to the kitchen wants to leave at 4pm. Not the hours of closing at 4pm.

Service here is great and the pancakes are fantastic! Endless hot coffee. I always get the chorizo skillet, so it is hard to comment on the rest of the menu. What more can you say when a stack of pancakes is a side!

Large, very open restaurant with a great menu. Staff was friendly. Soup was delicious. Do not order a bowl unless it's all you're going to eat, or you haven't eaten in months. They are massive, see picture. That's a large soup spoon in that bowl. Had cream of broccoli, and loved it. Ordered the Shroomed omelette (wild mushrooms, spinach and swiss cheese). It was a bit below temperature, pretty wet, and way too heavy on the swiss (and I love cheese). Asked for a biscuit (at an up charge), for my bread choice. Was asked if I wanted gravy, I was tempted, but asked for "a little gravy". My biscuits came out swimming. Gravy had taste, bit a bit flour-y. Am going to give it a second chance. Next time, gonna get a sandwich.

They look like they belong in Wicker Park. The food is uninspired but good service. I was hoping they elevated theirs ingredients or did something for better tasting food. You'll eat and say ' eh' I had better.

Local joint, very busy on Sunday morning when we visited after Church. And for good reason, my "Ole Skillet" had lots of tasty chorizo and jalepenos, and the pancakes and coffee were delicious. The restroom and waiting area were not amazing, but a great experience overall. I will go back the next time I am in the neighborhood or dropping by the adjacent American Science and Surplus, which us also a must visit.

Pleasant surroundings, arriving at 9 am Sunday, no wait ...later it gets packed. Excellent servers, good coffee, chicken sausage for nonbacon eaters, a credible German apple pancake and lemon (like the Dutch baby at Original). All in all a great neighborhood find.

So grateful to have an Elly’s close by after moving; got kind of spoiled having one in my hometown. I brought my boyfriend here for the first time a few months ago to try the buckwheat pancakes. He seemed weirded out by the concept at first but loved them after trying them. To me, they’re even better than their original pancakes. (Wish they still had black cherry topping available though.) Service has been consistently good when I’ve been there. I try to go at earlier hours because it can be PACKED with people on the weekend any time after 9 AM on Saturday and 10 AM on Sunday. (Post-church crowds seriously go to town on breakfast here!) Wait staff is attentive but will be slower the more packed it is, which is inevitable. Plentiful amount of tables for the space though, so no worries for good seating for people with mobility issues or older folks.

I seriously enjoyed the fluffy and moist pancakes delicious! Coffee was unlimited but they charge 2.25 for that..It’s our first visit since I’ve been craving to visit a breakfast place and found this,read few reviews and I agree pancakes are amazing. Though I’m going to score 3 it is because my chicken and waffles was dry and fried chicken and a certain after taste..My bf got an ole skillet with sumptuous and pretty good amount of chorizo he only wished they added some avocado to balance out the flavors. Service was quick and staff was friendly!

The problem with this place other than they are overpriced for mediocre breakfast food is that the cooks are always in such a hurry to just push food out when they are busy that they don’t pay any attention to quality or to see if it’s even freaking done. This is the second time I’ve come and will be the last due to me getting food poisoning. Miss this place if you can.

Have always received good service here. However this weekend our server Jennifer was exceptional. My only problem with Elly's is the volume. I had a headache starting and I needed to put in ear plugs to soften the din around me. People were not being obnoxious, I think its just the size of the room, number of people, hard surfaces. If you have a sound sensitive person or child you may want to avoid busy times.

Would have gotten 5 stars definitely from me. It was my 10 year old daughter and myself that went for breakfast. We ordered at same time and her food(Acai bowl)did not come out for 10-15 minutes after mine. They did have the courtesy to at least take it off the bill without us having to even question . For that I will say I'd definitely come back for another shot. The food is really great and staff is friendly.

I give Elly's on Milwaukee 5 stars. We were there at 10:30 on a busy Saturday morning, and while they were crowded, we did not have to wait for a table for two. Our server was friendly and courteous, and while the atmosphere was hustling and bustling, we were there for a nice hot breakfast and we definitely receive that. Our Greek omelette was served very quickly and cooked to Perfection. We each had a cup of their hot tea in very interesting tea decanters, and our raisin Danish was fresh, moist and a great treat on a cool Saturday morning. I highly recommend this local breakfast gem.

It was my first and last experience at Ellys. The service was fine but the food nothing to write home about. The morning sunrise omelette too soft and needed to be cooked more. The pancakes were cold. I ordered scrambled eggs that came out cold. Instead of them taking the eggs off my plate and bring new eggs, they microwave the eggs for them now to be too hot and gummy. To top it off it made the rest of the meal on the plate horrible. Breakfast is the easiest meal to cook who messes up on that! Smh

Great family style Chicago franchise to get breakfast. It's not as upscale as other trendier breakfast places, but this location seems to be a bit more updated than the last two Elly's I have been to. Sometimes they will be out of an ingredient but they will work around it, or offer you to order something else. That's fine because they have other delicious items that will not disappoint. I try to order something different every visit and I have not been let down yet.

Went in on New year day sat at our table over a hour after ordering asked the waitress multiple times how much longer and every time she came with an order for a near by table that was sat after us so we decided to leave when asked if a manager was on staff was told yes but she refused to come out and speak to us and had another server tell us that the meal was cancelled I would never go here again and would not recommend unless your time isn't important.

I was in town on business and wanted to try locals breakfast spots. The interior is a little too industrial for my tastes. For breakfast places, I like that old-school dive ambience; this was not that. Upon entering, we were greeted rather quickly. It was not busy despite being breakfast-time during the week. The interior was very bright and open. The staff were attentive. I didn't know who the waitress was because it seemed as if we had about 3 different people. However, the menu was more than adequate and they also had smoothies. The selections for breakfast were a little too fancy-pants for me. French toast made from brioche, crepes, bacon-waffles, etc. I ordered pancakes and bacon. It came out in a normal length of time. Overall, the food was good, the service was good, and the place is very clean. I just wasn't a fan of the ambience.

I had the Migas Frittata and it was delicious. The salsa alone was excellent.My wife had the sweet potato bowl, which had a great blend of the music amd cumin flavors. She was also impressed that they serves loose leaf tea in a press. It seemed extremely busy, but our service was impeccable and responsive. Whatever their system is, it works. Highly recommend.

Amazing restaurant! Me and a friend came here we were not let down! Food is amazing, service is nice and the restaurant looks beautiful! Aside from that it's at such a convenient place only problem though, me and my friend had a little trouble separating the bill on cash and debit card but it wasnt that big a deal. Clean, open, bright space, friendly attentive staff. When during the weekday for brunch. Plenty of seating at this time of day. I ordered the Kale Rice Bowl salad with the dressing on the side, with chicken. It was so delicious!! My friend's daughter had the grilled cheese sandwich with fries. She ate all the grilled cheese but not even half the fries.

I ate here last weekend with my wife child and two friends. The food was very good. All the adults agreed on that. Service on the other hand was quite poor which is the reason for the two stars. The "manager" on duty was extremely young and not very good. The waitress was also sub par. Several errors were made with the food order and even after reminding them the child's food arrived after all the adults had finished eating. I would not eat here again but the food was good and priced well so it might be worth a try if you don't mind sub par service.

Went early in the day, had our choice of seat, and quickly ordered the Morning sunrise...and it was amazing! Fluffy keto omelet of eggs, avocado, and onions....served with toast or pancakes, AND hashbrowns...it was definitely enough for two portions all under $10.00!

I want to love this place as I live 2 mins away. Bakery in the back has some quality items. Breakfast can be good,but is not cheap. Quality of the food is inconsistent and some quality control is much needed. I have to send my hash browns back frequently as they can be old and reheated at times.

Excellent place to eat if its not that busy But they always have a problem every time we visit I always get chiliquiles verdes and it's always perfect The real issue I have had was with service taking ungodly long to bring anything to you at the table And sadly enough the kitchen prepares meals way to fast they don't look to see if something is raw when it's been sent back multiple times The item in question was their sausage patties They gave it to us underdone and by the time the fixed after two trips to the kitchen We were just done and our appetite in general had vanished and stomach flu was what came Don't eat here it's a sham

Elly's is a great little place for breakfast either sit down OR on the go. Definitely do yourself a favor and get some pancakes on the side of whatever you are trying. The staff at Ellys is usually really nice and they are also SUPER QUICK!!! Even if you est fast, they never rush you out the door. Definitely a good alternative to Walkers Bros.
