REVIEWS OF Duck Duck Goat IN Illinois

The food was good, and the service somewhat attentive despite the place being slammed. I was, however disappointed in the portion size. For $19, they can give you more than six hand-pulled noodles.

Brandy Greco

We stumbled upon this place in the Fulton Market District and were extremely glad that we did. Every dish was incredible, and the portions were great for four people. Be adventurous with your dish choices. You won't regret anything you order. Also, the cocktails were very well done and tasted amazing.

Derek Hallward

Nice spot. This is a more Americanized version of Chinese cuisine, so the seasoning and spice level was toned down for the most part. Overall the food was great, plus the menu has pictures for every dish and I quite enjoyed that way of presenting the menu.

Noelle-Marie Mulqueen

We ordered the entire vegan menu and every dish was fantastic.

mkertello

This place is crazy good! Great menu, hard to choose, but everything we had was delicious. Make sure to try the duck hearts!

Alex Blanco

We went back last night and had another fantastic experience. I had a friend in from out town and they wanted a good restaurant in the West Loop. I now live very close to Chinatown so I was a little hesitant to go back but it's it's own unique experience with an abundance of flavor. I had the mapo Doufu vegetarian style and my friend had the Pekan chicken without pecans (she's allergic). The first thing staff asks is if their are any dietary restrictions and are more than accommodating. If you haven't gone yet and are looking for a good spot in the West Loop skip Girl and the Goat and come here instead!

Michael James

Delicious variety with enough creativity on classic dishes that it makes you think about the old dishes in ways you may not have before. I had twelve tastings and not a single item was subpar or unoriginal. My personal favorite was the bone marrow dumplings, but truly, every item I tried was delicious.

William B

Awesome food and drink. Must go

Elssie Guerra

Amazing food. Service was super fast!! I will totally ordered the chicken again it was so crispy and yummy

Jennifer McClain

The food was amazing!!

Chad Whiting

Delicious Chinese style cuisine. The whole fish special was served fileted which made it easy to eat. Served with a heaping pile of veggies the fish was a little bit overwhelmed by the wide array of flavor but was nicely cooked and provided enough for 1 person.

Celebrated my 31st birthday at Duck Duck Goat this past Saturday and it was amazing. Our server gave us great recommendations on what to try and we ventured out a bit to try some others. We loved all the dishes but the hits for us were the scallion pancakes, braised beef and bone marrow potstickers and green beans.

Thanh Nguyen

Fusion asian food, if you are looking for a piece of home cooking. This is not the place for that selection of food items. However, if you adventurous and tired of the status quo of traditional foods. Then this is an interesting interpretation of selection asian food items

Ambience looks a old Chinese setup, vegetarian fried rice was better than sea food fried rice. If you are into duck Peking duck is recommended.

Andrew Zimmerman

Great good, great service. Fun atmosphere. Well-managed restaurant.

Stefania De Monaco

Phenomenal flavour with ambiance to match. And the best part? Plenty of gluten free / dairy free options. Thank you Stephanie Izard!

Courtney Foster

The Pecan Chicken and the bao buns are wonderful. You HAVE to try them.

Arturo Brant

Dim sum was average, the noodles and fried rice were better. Some of the soup dumplings were broken. A good restaurant for dinner, but wouldn’t go for dim sum.

Jim Kwasiborski

It's good but not great.

Barbara Paige

Yum!!!! Friendly service, our waiter was a comedian. We ordered the ginger and spicy salt crab...delicious! Best jellyfish salad, I loved their sauce. We also ordered soup dumplings, pan fried noodles, seafood with fish tripe soup, won ton soup, sizzling beef and pea leaves. Definitely returning on my next Chicago trip. It's definitely a place to go with a big group so you can order lots of dishes to try.

Christina Rios

Wonderful flavors and great service. Worth the price. Really enjoyed family style food.

Tyler Hienkel

While the service and atmosphere were lovely, the food was a bit bland.

Mabel Freeman

This was the best, real Chinese food I have tasted! This place was great and with really good service! We ordered the prawns with honey walnuts and a spicy chicken entree, sooooo good!

Sabina Zalova

Absolutely amazing place. The food was magnificent!

Francis Z.

Great atmosphere. Worth trying out just for the dinning experience. Food might be a little bit salty for some.

W Chicago

We thoroughly enjoyed our apps and meals. Jonathon provided great service. It was a very enjoyable atmosphere to celebrate a birthday.

Anya Solotskaya

Delicious food options, inventive and fun to go with a large group

Vanessa Lech

So good. Loved my cocktail and we had lamb skewers that I think were on special. Those were my favorite. Soup dumplings were just ok. I'll be back to explore more of the menu

Deborah Brown

Been coming here for years. Can't believe I have never written a review. Excellent dumplings. Large traditional menu. Orange chicken, mu shu, tofu and Cantonese chicken stand out dishes. Sizzling rice soup always delicious. Good value. Large portions. Will keep coming back. One of the better places in Chinatown.

TLDR; Rockstar chef under performs, over Americanizes and improvises a bit too much on what should be classic dishes. Prob want to look elsewhere. I've been wanting to visit this spot because of Stephanie. We eat a bit of XLB so I expected it and the rest to really shine because she's such a rockstar. Lemme start with the good. The BBQ pork buns and the scallion pancakes are delish. The Bao buns steamed really well and the BBQ flavor is great with the pork. Super fluffy. The pancakes remind me a bit of a nice greasy and crunchy Roti, so tasty with the hoisin. I really wish I had nice things to say about the rest of the meal, in fact I'm writing this review from a couch at the Hoxton feeling rather sick. Lemme start with the XLB. For those that eat XLB semi frequently I think we can all agree that this recipe needs no improvization. The goat absolutely decimates the flavor on this, it's like a gravy level flavor and just isn't appetizing as a bao. As you can see from the pics they don't hold their shape well and kinda pancake out, which seems like the dough is old or not strong enough. We couldn't even finish this dish. I was really hoping for more with the Mapo Tofu, it was just this grease bomb and I asked if the sezchuan peppercorn would be noticeable enough and to add more and was reassured it was there. It was rather light. Didn't finish more than a few bites from this dish. Egg drop Hot and sour soup. This is a timeless recipe. How did it go so awry? Vinegar flavor so light, idk what else they put in it bit it eats like a cross between Tom yum ka and hot and sour. The flavors were all wrong. Need to go back to the recipe books on this one. Lastly, the duck fried rice. Admittently I loved the presentation on this, it comes with a soft boiled egg that you get to break and mix into the rice. I kinda wish the server did it instead of us but still, this was pretty cool. Flavor just wasn't there for me, it ended up being another grease ball. I came into this lunch expecting to just be in love and I left feeling sick and underwhelmed, which is so unfortunate. If you're looking for a tasty Chinese / dim sum spot, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Benjamin Tran

Had such an amazing night at a corporate event and given the chance to meet Stephanie Izard. What a great and one of the kind chef. Food was fabulous and unique. Could not have asked for a better dinner. Thank you Stephanie!

Sean Summers

Always great service, and unparalleled food.

Noel Nunez

The squash soup was amazing. Shrimp fried rice/Beef n Broccoli was okay. Crab Ragoon had no actual crab in it Beef slap noodles was gross. Great atmosphere and music tho.

Kristina Carrillo

Dim Sum brunch was delicious!

John Carrillo

They don't prioritize pick up orders. They always take a really long time. Its always the same story with Duck Duck Goat. You guys need to hire faster cooks or hire more cooks. The pick up is on the side of the building out in the brutal cold(when its winter). I can see through the window that the workers are not very fast. The woman that takes orders is touching the screen and keyboards and then proceeded to cut open peas without washing her hands or wearing gloves. A manager came over to tell her something and didn't care that she wasn't wearing gloves disgusting. If you want food delivered to you don't order from here they take an eternity even if you live 5 minutes away.

David and Ruthie Wu

Took a chance at dinner without reservations since I was by myself. The hostess was very friendly to ask me to check the bar and if I couldn't find a seat, she would get me a table. Seating at the bar worked out with Caitlyn and Hannah taking turns to serve and ensure I had a great experience. Both asked me if I had food allergies. Based on reviews I read, I was curious to try the jiaozi - beef short rib and bone marrow dumplings. Then I saw the xiao long bao (duck and goat soup dumplings) on the menu and asked Caitlyn for her recommendation. She shared that the duck is cooked for 76 hours so she recommended the xiao long bao. The dumpling skin was just the right thickness and a bit delicate. Eating these dumplings with a soup spoon was the way to go. I tried the XO shrimp and scallops which was on the seasonal menu. This dish came with pea tendrils and lotus chips. The shrimp seemed small in size and the scallops may have been the largest I've ever seen. The food portion was just enough for me to finish. I drank the Emperor's Dragonwell which was a green tea. The meal ended with complimentary almond cookies. The reason I didn't rate this place 5 stars is that though the flavors were very good, both dishes were a tad too salty for me. Honestly, this spot is pricier than a typical Chinese restaurant but then it does have a different twist to most of their dishes. Was worth the try.

Tory Schulz

Great experience here. Was pleased to see just how many vegan and vegetarian dishes they had available. We will definitely be going back.

Keara Doyle

The green beans and the slap noodles stole the show! Overall great food, cocktails, and service.

Christelle

Loved loved loved it. I don't even know where to start. Just give it a try, it is worth it.

Ahmad A

Get their egg plant dish. We tried I fried chicken dish but it was super super super sweet The place is really cool. Overall definitely coming back to try more items

Clare Hylant

Amazing food, comfortable seating, great wait staff!

Carolina Reduzzi

Try the mango and coconut cloud cake

Wendy Robles

Stephanie Izard's Duck Duck Goat is a score for me. Being a fan of her other restaurants we decided to try this, we were able to get in on a Saturday when we were in the neighborhood. I am not very familiar with Chinese cuisine so I can't speak to the authenticity. But you can't go wrong with anything you order ( we tried the Beef dumpling soup, duck heart, octopus salad, seafood fried rice, broccoli beef and coconut cloud desert) * also heard great things about the green beans. Basically trust the chef and go with some items from the Chef's selection menu. Also servers are very helpful. Went here 2 times in 2 weeks, which speaks for itself.

John Kim

Great twist on Chinese food. As an Asian from Asia, really enjoyed it. The food definitely paid homage to the traditional while adding something new and exciting. Highly recommended

Ryan Pace

Duck Duck Goat is a amazing mix of Asian inspired dishes with a special twist of Western ingredients! I would highly recommend! My girlfriend and I went her for our anniversary and absolutely loved the soup dumplings, pot stickers, and the seafood fried rice (all included in the pics). Honestly, you can't go wrong with this place. The prices are worth the cuisine. I plan to come back sometime soon!

Edward Yu

I like it. I kinda grew up with traditional Chinese food. Going to a Chinese restaurant 40 minutes away every week so my parents could eat food their familiar with. Duck duck goat takes that experience and makes it more fanciful. Chinese food itself is never too glamorous. you can go to almost any Chinatown in any City and get the same thing without the trappings of a chain or corporate venture. Besides the rise of Asian fusion, Asian food in general has been mostly ignored by fine dining. DuckDuckGoat puts a western dining experience on traditional Asian food without compromising taste. if I want a somewhat cheap Chinese dinner I would still go to Chinatown. If I want to make sure that my food is good every time, take out a date, or show people around in general I would bring them here. Atmosphere is a bit corny. The design regardless is beautiful.

Amanda VanWagenen

The food is amazing! Good portion sizes, and the non alcoholic drinks are incredible

Jessica Ahn

The food was very flavorful - strong, unique flavors that compliment Asian influence and the fusion elements of the ingredients. The service is enjoyable. The staff is funny and friendly. Tied to a creative ambiance makes this place a great place to visit.

Kristine R

It was our first time here and I guess we chose the right time and right day for brunch! I was able to take a picture of our appetizers and the rest because we are so hungry was eaten so fast that we have to order for seconds. This is what we had for brunch: char siu bao (not dense and I must say really tasty) crab rangoons (this one looks like it is on a diet, I guess I got used to huge crab rangoons that are served here in our local Chinese restaurant) Goat and duck spring roll (I was so eager to see, taste, smell and digest this food. I am not disappointed) Taiwanese fried chicken (highly recommend!), Duck fried rice (same... highly recommended) and our favorite of all, Jiaozi aka beef short rib and bone marrow potsickers (after finishing the first serving, we all decided we should get another one and that is because it is really good). When we got there the place is not yet crowded but everything went busy the minute we got to our table. Our server Joslyn, looks tired already but she got all our orders correct and served really hot. I am glad that we decided to celebrate father's day here, it may be an hour drive for use but it was worth it. Plus this is chef Izard's restaurant and I've been to her other 2 restaurant. Not only was it our first time to this restaurant but it was our first time in the area. We already made plans to visit the other restaurant in the area, weather and budget permitting of course!

Benjellica Leslie-Jones Smyre

Good food, wonderful service. Will likely return!

Lea Han

This was an interesting experience. We had a reservation at 5pm and were done being served by 540pm w 4 courses. I felt rushed and couldn't enjoy the individual dishes. The crab ragoon was good and had what seemed to be an outer pastry dough. The beef wonton soup was the best soup I've ever had which makes this review hard. The green beans were not good at all and the Dan Dan noodles were a terrible take on a Chinese version of a spaghetti w meat sauce. The combination was questionable, but for more confusion, the noodles were great. Just an odd experience and we probably won't be back.

Shaan Somani

Fabulous presentation and great flavors. My girlfriend and I especially enjoyed the beef slap noodles and the duck hearts. Appropriate serving sizes for sharing - would recommend getting 1.5 to 2 dishes per person.

Ava Regan

Wow, all these flavors were incredible. We came for chicago restaurant week and were lucky enough to try a little bit of everything. However, if you are vegetarian or don’t like red meat, this may not be your spot.

Ivee L

Haven't been here for a couple years, it is still just as good. I have to point out their mistakes on the menu though. It's a bit laughable for such a famous restaurant to have such bad translation that I am sure Google Translate can do a much better job. Someone basically typed the pinyin and randomly picked some characters for it? Fish and rain are very different! Back to the food! The soupy dumpling prolly is better than anywhere in Chinatown. I loved the thin dumpling skin. Duck fried rice is a a MUST HAVE. I would just come order that to go. Duck hearts were surprisingly good too. The dessert cloud was as good and dreamy as I remember last. Dan Dan noodles was good, but too salty for my taste. It was a great leftover once I added more noodles to it at home. However, the pork belly salad was unimpressive, very mediocre.

Max Martinelli

Great dim sum and shared dishes. Everything is family style, so your party can eat communally and compare favorites.

Antoaneta Nikodimova

Great vibe. The interior is exceptional. The food was great and reasonably priced. Our server was cheerful and knowledgeable. We were seated asap on a Tuesday evening without having a reservation and the food arrived for no time. Good spot! We’ll come back!

Adara Ney

Delicious and inventive dishes. I appreciated the vegetarian menu they provided when requested. The vegetable dumplings and glass noodle dish were to die for!

Jonathan Vinokur

What a great place to eat. The mix of flavors and texture of the food is unlike anything else I have ever tried. Highly recommend this place. When the meal is done and you cant eat anything else, try the "bopping for apples" dessert that is both refreshing and satisfying. Awesome restaurant and also has great service as you can tell everyone enjoys working there.

Bryan Daniels

Duck duck hype... Don't believe it. So enjoyed Girl and the Goat that I was expecting more. Maybe too much. The service and atmosphere were good. But the food was sub par. Probably won't go back.

chad richards

This place is heaven on a plate. If you like a lot spices this is the place to go. My wife and I loved everything we ordered. 5 stars from this Butterball!!

Nancy Benjamin

I want to love it, but much of the food is over-salted etc

Bill Castle

Service was great! Beautiful space. Food good.

Tyler Madwid

Pretty freakin amazing. My wife and I tried this restaurant after several recommendations from local friends while visiting for our anniversary. Lovely decor and ornate touches make the inside of this restaurant very special. Our waiter recommended dishes were all fantastic and did not disappoint. Would highly recommend for the food and service. A bit pricey but worth it.

David Sherman

The place to go if you want your meal tasty and we'll thought out. The creativity will awaken your taste buds. Whoever you take will be very happy. Don't think about it, just go there! Like & Share.

Krista F

Duck Duck Goat was a delicious dining experience. I would highly recommend the Hongshao Rou and dining with a group to try more dishes. Everything is served family style. (Pictured: Goat and Duck Springroll, Jiaozi, Dan Dan Noodles, and Hongshao Rou)

Claudio Lombardo

Great meal, flawless. Good atmosphere, reasonable prices, worth a visit. The duck egg fried rice what’s superb!

Meredith Harrison

Wow! The food here is so good! My husband and I enjoyed the Moo Shu Pork, Pork Fried Rice, Hot and Sour soup, and Duck Hearts. They were all incredibly delicious dishes. Our service was great too, and Kate completed the outdoor ambiance with lovely music for a beautiful night!

Jen Laud

Stopped in for lunch with a friend and we were able to get a spot at the community table right away. It's cozy and the service was great. We ordered everything recommended and were not dissapointed - all the flavors were amazing. I could eat the soup dumplings and octopus salad every single day.

Chris Madsen

Loved all of this place. My wife and I went for the Dim Sum brunch and everything was great. We started with the Crab Rangoon of course

David Craig

Awesome meal. Great service.

Mat Domier

Staff was awesome and really helpful on helping us choose what to order and how much to order. The recommendations that the waiter suggested were amazing. We had the Duck Fried Rice and the Peiking Chicken and I would highly recommend both. Make sure to come hungry as they are family portions.

Andrew Rosato

Best Chinese I've ever had!

David Withers

Really wanted to give a 4. But pretentious left wingers good really learn a thing or two about manors. Food was unique and decent.

Bobby Patrick

My favorite spot for chinese food. Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. This place has a nice design.

Janice Belen

Love the interior. The beef short rib and bone marrow potstickers are a must! The coconut mango cloud dessert was a great ending.

Sonia Espinosa

The food was absolutely delicious!! Packed with flavor. Our server was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu items. It was our first time and they made us feel very welcomed. Perfect place for date night or a group of friends. Love the decor and atmosphere. We will definitely be back!!

George Rockel

Good food, nice atmosphere, good service.

Cormac Loughnane

Tasty and large portions

Megan Anderson

Went to Duck Duck Goat for dinner with my boyfriend's family, and this place blew me away. The food is served family style and each plate is brought out one/two at a time. Each dish is so unique in flavor and was a great modern twist on Chinese cuisine. The food was truly amazing, and some of the best food I've had in the city thus far. The ambiance is very trendy as well and our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable. I suggest ordering the Kissed by a Rose drink as well as the green bean dish. If you have a chance check this place out!

Lee Sucherman

Fun and delicious. Excellent service.

Joshua Stephens

Likes this place. Would recommend I'd you are in the area.

Sierra Carmichael

I came here on a date with my boyfriend for a late seating and we were absolutely blown away by everything about the experience. First of all, we loved the atmosphere with the low lighting, eclectic decorations and how it felt personal and romantic but lively at the same time. Secondly the food was INCREDIBLE - my boyfriend and I both agreed that it was the best all around meal we have every had. We ordered a starter and two mains which would have been more than enough, but our waiter even brought our complimentary duck/goat dumplings and even sugar cookies for dessert which was so generous and unexpected. Our server was so personable but left us to enjoy our meal, all the while still being very attentive. I will definitely be coming here again and letting anyone who know visiting Chicago to have a meal here!

Vicky Gu

Came here for dinner with a coworker on a Wednesday night. We were visiting out of town, read a whole bunch of reviews before deciding on this one. We were disappointed with the food overall. 1) food is too salty, every dish came out with so much salt in it that we could not even taste the real flavors. The salt level needs to be take down by 30-40% at least. 2). For Chinese cooking, we tend to cook the dish all by itself, regardless it is stir fry or pan fry. The cooking that they used here is not true Chinese, several elements were cooked individually and then assembled together. To me, this is more western then Chinese. There is no enough harmony in between the elements for us to feel it is a complete dish. As a reference, we ordered beef noodles, whole fish, eggplant with goat. There are a few more clean dishes other people ordered, that we think might be worth a try, such as pork belly. They are not coated with wired creamy sauce, but paired with a bun or baozi. Our experience might have been more favorable if we have picked the right dishes? To summarize, we will not return here in the future, it’s sister restaurant girl and goat is so much better!

Rachyll Gomes

Friendly attentive staff. Cool atmosphere and a great selection of “reasonably authentic Chinese food” - loved the menu. Great portions to share, and they also a great value of the pre-price brunch menu. We had many items but the beef and bone marrow potstickers were our favorite! Definitely a must to stop in around 4pm if you are in the area.

Ally

The drinks were delicious! Popped in while it was raining to have a drink and a snack. The bartender, David, was very friendly and we got a free side dish since it was our first time in. Food is a bit on the pricey side ($13 for 4 crab rangoons) but it was tasty!

Jason Benensky

The food was delicious and the interior was very nice. I only give it 4 starts because the price was a bit expensive for what we got especially considering we were going for afternoon dim sum.

Gregory Kirsch/USA

Creative, bountiful & affordable.

Michael Zalewski

Sit at the bar and have a cocktail. Outstanding food and drinks.

Amy Shen

Not authentic Chinese food per say but it's decent. Valiant effort. The service was ok and the food was good but I wouldn't try to break my neck to get a reservation here. If you want authentic dimsum, go to minghin and it's also cheaper too.

André B

Wow! What unexpected combinations of flavor! I thought it might be strange but everything works. Get the slap noodles. Amazing!

Y Pham

Great service and great food! The interior design is very authentically Chinese. My favorite part was the booze bubble tea that they offer here! The price is a little more expensive than most asian place (around $15+ for a dish.) Overall I would totally recommend this place.

Bill Stringer

Absolutely phenomenal Asian cuisine

dnshift1

It was quite exquisite. The fusion of each and every dish cuisine execution is excellent. I recommend going to this spot and check it out.

richard kalu

Nice place. Went there for a birthday celebration. Not overtly pricey. The duck noodle was my favorite out of what we ordered. It gets very busy so I recommend having a reservation.

Tom Yuen

Food is ok if you are really into the asian fusion thing.

Kristen Demma

Amazing food and service. I can't wait to go back!!

Rocky Moss

The beef marrow potstickers & the beef soup were Revelations. Good place to take groups and order a bunch of different stuff. Honestly, I would have ordered double of each thing we got, because with 7 people a single order will get each of you ~1-2 bites of a single dish. They can modify that order size depending on your request though, very accommodating. Don't be stingy is what I'm saying , you're gonna want to eat as much of this food as you can cram in your face, it's delish

DiMokokilala71

I'm Asian. I love my Asian foods. The food tasted like French drizzled with Chinese. The Ambiance of the place is the same. Not impressed. You want awesome Chinese food, go to Chicago's Chinatown. Don't go to Joy Yee either, it's watered down Chinese food. Don't go to a buffet, most of them are not real authentic Chinese dishes. Go to a real Ma Pa restaurant to have the closest taste of authentic Chinese food you can get in America! Save yourself a lot of money too!

David Ortiz

Elevated Chinese Cuisine some very well in a fun space

Mike Mcgreal

Amazing food, but don't forget the desserts... incredible!!!

Carlos Lopez

Everything was great! we had the Xiao Long Bao and they were perfect, so was the duck fried rice with the egg on top. The boodles with beef were spicy and tasty. My favorite (besides the soup dumplings) was the octopus salad.

Sarah Orswell

The fried rice is my favorite item here.

Patrick Sauter

Nothing really stood out, nothing was bad. Cocktails were the highlight. Sadly, as others have mentioned, the scallion pancakes were the best thing we ate.

Andy Suarez

Had some of the greatest food here. Awesome staff and good food. Worth the trip and the hype.

Gabriel Selbo

Expected some bigger flavors from the dim sum we ordered. Goat and duck spring rolls, duck hearts, and glutinous rice dumplings were all good, but could have used something. Spice, sour, heat or something else to just make them punchier. Eggplant entree though, will be remembered. Subtle heat, sour notes, and umami. We ditched our chopsticks in the end to scrape up every last bit with a spoon. Service was exceptional

Steve Ray

Great service, great food. Had the duck. It was fantastic

Christine McPherson

Duck Duck Goat is one of my Favorite, Go-To Special occasion restaurants. They never disappoint. My favorites are the Beef Slap Noodles, and the Soup Dumplings!

Nicolas Zagorski

It's not Chinese food. I thought it was and was confused at first as the food started coming out. It's an American take on modifying several Chinese dishes for our taste. Meat seems to take the front seat here and strong flavors of beef, duck, and lamb over power dishes that are traditionally more subtle. Spices are changed for our liking and it really works. I never would of guessed it would work, but it does. We enjoyed everything we ordered very much which is hard to say about any restaurant. My favorite was their take on xiao long bao, my wife enjoyed the Chongqing chicken best.

Samrat Sondhi

Very good Chinese food. Unusual, but try the coconut dessert. Was my best item.

Ольга Демидова

A perfect place. The most delicious Chinese cuisine I’ve ever tasted. Try their rice with duck, it’s amazing. Reasonable prices, friendly service. Only valet parking and it’s not that easy to find a parking spot around.

Will Boland

We had an awesome meal here the night after the Chicago Marathon. Nice vibe in the restaurant, great cocktails, and a menu you'll want to order one of everything.

Chris Krolczyk

This place is always crowded, AFAIK. *Always*. But it's for good reason, as the quality of the food is extremely high. The beef wonton soup was great and the sparerib ragu Beef Slap Noodles were incredible. The Duck Hunter cocktail has to be tried if you're a bourbon drinker, and although it's not cheap the prices are completely in line with the quality of the experience.

Ajaay Shinde

Amazing food and really cool decor. Will be coming back!!

Kyle Crebs

Amazing as always. Best food in Chicago! Short rib and bone marrow potstickers are unbelievable

Chan Woo Park

I visited on Sunday evening for dinner. The place was full and they only had bar seats available. Two of us only ordered 2 dishes but I think 3 to 5 would have been enough. . Xi'an Goat Slap noodle was too salty for me. It also didn't feel very spicy for me despite having sichuan peppercorn and hot chilly. The noodle was chewy and I liked the crunchy fried garlic they added on top. . Hongshao Rou, the pork belly was really good. The pork belly by itself tasted a little boring but putting it in a wrap with different pickles was more flavorful. Pork belly was cooked well although some parts were not as tender as others.

William Coyne

Excellent food -- incredibly rich and full of flavor. Service was a little slow but acceptable. Overall one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

Sarah Klar

Oriental flavor explosion! Our party of 4 ordered a variety of dishes and each one was unique and amazing! Delicious food, great presentation, great outdoor atmosphere!

Benjamin Colsten

Delicious. They were busy, so it was a touch slow, but the food more than made up for it! So good!

Brian S.

This place takes reservations so don't expect to walk-in and find a seat. Good food. The goat slap noodles were great. Fried chicken came out over done. Sesame donut holes are very sesame, not very sweet. Otherwise excellent.

P L

Food could’ve been really good because they use fresh ingredients and good techniques but was beyond salty it was un enjoyable. It was also my birthday not sure if they help celebrate but nothing was done for mine.

Little Lola Sunshine

Nearly authentic Chinese but way better. Boozy Boba Tea is a thrill. Prices that will leave you smiling and coming back for more. Love. This. Place.

Yahir Lawson

Absolutely a place worth stopping over, the food is great and well prepared, the cost is fair and it is consistently clean there. Highly recommended.

Angela Flatland

Amazing vegan menu which is separate from the regular menu (you just have to ask). This is my favorite restaurant to go to for special events or to impress out of towners. The one downside of this place is that even if you have a reservation you could be waiting more than an hour for your table. That’s happened to me 3 separate times when I had 9 and 10PM reservations.

Tushar Gupta

More than anything else I would say that the staff didn’t care, we waited for 15 minutes sitting at the table before anyone bothered to take our order. The food was fine and the ambience was good. But I definitely think we deserved a better service!

Catherine Milligan

Fully worth whatever kind of wait you may come across. The experience and food was amazing. I loved every moment of my time there. We had some exceptional items, particularly the chicken was a standout for me. Everything was so wonderful.

Kady Gibowski

The food and cocktails are amazing! Our server-a young man, not sure of his name, took extra special care of us on our anniversary! This restaurant provides a perfect dining experience from start to finish!

Nicole Leonard

Placed a to-go order at the bar...vegetable fried rice. The food was amazing! Better than the drink. I would love to go back to try something else! Yum! Thank you Stephanie Izard!

Ryan Waxberg

Amazing food, service, atmosphere, and price

Nancy Musgrove

Great food but heavily salted (almost too much). May be a function of the sauces used in cooking. Space was absolutely gorgeous. Good for small groups.

I'm at the restaurant now. We were given the worst table in the restaurant, between the bus station, bar, kitchen, and under a speaker. A far better table was 2 tables away, but they stuck us with this one to fill the bad tables first. Terrible, self-interested service.

Ankur Joshi

Excellent service and very well prepared food.

Richard Gilliland

Excellent duck and dishes

I'm a big fan of second chances. I've been to this restaurant multiple times. Some great experiences, some questionable. Their food is very good. The bone marrow dumplings, soup dumplings and fried lamb almost donut balls in particular. . PS :- Thank you Alyssa for trying to remedy a poor experience. Much appreciated.

First time I have found authentic chines food in outside of China. Really brought back memories. A bit pricy but good food.

Cole Ballard

Amazing and delicious food. Service was great. Atmosphere was very nice and relaxing. Would definitely recommend.

Place is really nice. Hostess was about to put us in a tight spot, we told her flat out that wouldnt work and she restated us. Our waiter was great. Only reason I'm giving it a 4 star is because it's little pricey, $13+ for whiskey glass sized drink. Portions were smaller than I thought they would be for sharing. We ordered pot stickers, dumplings, pork fried rice and a soup as well. Sorry I cant remember the name of the items but I did take pictures. Food tastes great and the place was well kept.

So many delicious dishes!

Jennifer Anderson

Outstanding original cocktails wonderful service, and the food is simply delicious! This restaurant is definitely on my list of favorites!

Was there the evening of June 26, 2019. Reservation for 5:15. Avoid outside table. Very noisy. Server was the most annoying I have ever experienced. She kept interrupting our conversation to add water to my glass that was not empty from a carafe that was lukewarm. We were interrupted so many times by this process, I wished I had said something. The food was horrible and grossly overpriced. Bland, over-cooked, tasteless. Not presented as nicely as the pictures on the website. This was one of the worst dinner experiences of my life.

The food was delicious, but on the greasy and salty side. Definitely an indulgent meal. We loved the cold noodle dish. The service was great and decor was very inventive.

Martin Garcia

The Shanghai chow mein and hot and sour soup were fine, but the crab rangoons were not the best because the dough wrapping was pretty thick. I like that they deliver though. If I try it again, I might want to try the honey walnut shrimp.

Great take on white Chinese food experience and taste. Ask a pro foodie how to make it more authentic Stephanie

Nicholas Quaderer

All of the food ans drinks were wonderful. Portions worked out so that 2 dishes per person was just the right amount or food.

Mike Altarace

Good presentation, lots of Sichuan pepper (love it) but overall food was very rich and too salty for the group I was with

Colette Robertson

Nice decor and delicious food. But the portions are small for the price. Over $10 for two small skewers of lamb? And the saddest, flattest xiao long baos I've ever seen. Tasty, but sad.

Michael Aumiller

What an amazing experience at Duck Duck Goat. The food is fantastic though it may push you out of your comfort zone. Just jump in and embrace the strange though because everything is delicious. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Great cocktails too. The only knock is it gets CRAZY busy but I still give it five stars. This place knocks it out of the park. Highly recommend.

Expensive upscale Chinese in Chicago's most tragically hip 4-block area right next to Google headquarters, that about says it all. Bring your nerd glasses and scruffy beard and you'll fit right in. All the food is fresh and extremely flavorful and there are some nice creative recipes here. The Peking Duck is probably the best tasting on the planet but portions are small . Cocktails are pretty darn good but pretty darn expensive and also small. Other dishes are very good but a little over-vegetized and several of the dishes suffer from an ingredient-too-far syndrome. The place is crowded. Parking is non-existent so have a plan, especially if you're coming in from the burbs. All in all a former working class neighborhood of Chicago that's been turned into an expensive crowded clone of San Francisco, so make sure you're in the mood for this fellow Midwesterners.

The service was good and the food was good also. I gave it four stars because it was very overpriced. But hey it’s what you would expect in that area. Would recommend if you’re in the area and you really want dim sum.

Incredible food, good prices, easy for picking up, eating in or having it delivered. Our family can't get enough. The mini platter, cashew chicken, sweet and sour pork and cream cheese wontons are our favorites. Sometimes we order as much as 3 times in a week! Not great looking inside (it isn't a restaurant type atmosphere), but with it's A rating, I can see why. It's all about the food. It's fantastic.

Matthew McPhail

The entire menu sounded great, but I asked for a vegetarian menu and that one was even better. We had the pekan cauliflower, took me on a one way ride to FLAVOR TOWN. Service was perfect also. The corkage fee was 30 which was way too high, it's usually only 10--even in upscale restaurants, but the experience was worth it.

Mingxiao Ye

Rudest waiter. Or really, even disregarding the context that he was supposed to be providing service, it was just the rudest person. It appears that Duck Duck Go is not aware that waiters need to be trained, beyond pulling them from some nightclub and loading some plates on them. But congrats for having the honor of presenting with the worse waiter I have ever seen. Technical question: how can I give a zero star?

Elizabeth Rodriguez

I’m rating this on an order of “potstickers” I ordered. Although they were very delicious I was disappointed that it wasn’t at all like a potsticker. It was very thin. More like a gyoza. I wanted potstickers!

Denise Briddell

Excellent food and good drinks! Very popular place as it was crowded the whole time we were there. The food was amazing, very flavorful! I'd definitely recommend folks visiting Chicago to check it out!

Travis Antone

The beef and broccoli is one of my favorite dishes there. For something relatively simple they bring a lot of flavors out.

Josh Bauer

Went for dim sum. Highlights include Hoisin Sauce - absolutely amazing, and the pork fried rice is to die for! Everything else we ordered was great, but the one drawback that got it a 4 out of 5 stars is that the portion sizes are better for larger groups and not for one to two people.

Casey Shoup

Beautiful decor, delicious food, great drinks and friendly service!

Brielle Seitelman

Great for groups! This is a super fun way to eat (sharing a bunch of small plates, dumplings and dimsums) and then the shaved ice spot around the corner is the perfect finish. Some favorites: XLB, beef slap noodles, softshell crab special dimsum, glutinous dumplings, pickled cucumbers. Honestly though, there are not bad choices.

mmmmmmmmm it’s a really good restaurant don’t listen to those people who say it’s bad
