We went to Doc B's for dinner, as it was close to our hotel. Although we hadn't have booked we waited for less than 10 minutes to have a table. The server was kind and welcoming. We ordered a cocktail and wine. The cocktail list was short but the one we ordered was tasty and interestingly made. Although we ordered a salad and two burgers, we only received the burgers. We never got the salad as it was already late to have it after the burgers. The prices were a bit expensive.

This is a great choice for lunch or dinner. There are a variety of more casual style dishes, the food is very good, and the ambiance is lively and entertaining, including good views of the busy kitchen and lots of TV screens. We enjoyed our Cobb salad and peanut noodle salad, and our shared strawberry gelato and sugar cookie dessert. Prices are very good for downtown Chicago. Do make a reservation at this busy spot.

Food was really good, fresh and well cooked. The guacamole and chips as a starter was really nice. The work bowl with seared tuna, vegetables, Shanghai noodles and sesame teriyaki was super tasty, and healthy too! On top of all that, the service was fantastic too. Highly recommend it!

Enjoyed lunch and a drink here on a Friday afternoon. The place was recommended by a hotel employee and a great recommendation it was. We were seated right away despite it being a Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend (Labor Day). The restaurant has open window seating and perfect views of the Chicago city life. I had a signature drink called a Crazy Beautiful that was “crazy beautiful “ and crazy delicious at the same time. I ordered the corned beef sandwich that was piled high with corned beef—Enough to split between two people. My fiancé had the tangled noodle salad, which was also unique and scrumptious—plenty of tender steak bites throughout, a great blend of spicy and just enough sweet from the mangos. Truly a delicious dish. We loved Doc Bs and would return in a minute. It was a pricey lunch but worth every penny. Absolutely delicious! Great service, great atmosphere, great food.

I have been to this establishment and the other establishment and I would recommend the latter. Staff is friendly, food was good/priced fine, but food was very slow to come out of the kitchen. While the details of the visit are extensive, long story short the manager did comp drinks and sides which made the visit tolerable at best...hence the 3/5.

First time trying. Atmosphere was ok. Definitely a sports bar feel. I had medium expectations of the food and was pleased to find the food was actually excellent! We started with the brussel sprout salad. My wife had a chicken sandwich with quinoa salad. She really enjoyed it. I had a burger with blue cheese, egg, bacon on a pretzel bun and came with sweet potato fries. Loved it. Decent drink selection. We'd go back.

Came here for lunch with 2 other people. We ordered the guac which came with homemade sweet potato chips. Both quite delicious. For myself, I ordered the strawberry lemonade. It was tart, so if you want something very sweet probably not the best thing to order. I personally enjoyed it. To eat, had the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. Burger was pretty good, a thick patty and the glaze tasted like a sweet bbq sauce. The greens were fresh, and bun soft. I would come back for lunch again or any other meal.

All of the food tasted very good and fresh! I enjoyed the seasoning and texture of the plates, as well as the variety of flavors. I ordered the Cajun Crusted Trout, which comes with sautéed Brussels sprouts, and I ordered an additional kale (side) salad. My order didn’t come with the Brussels sprouts, and I really wanted that. Mine came with the sautéed broccoli instead. I ordered via DoorDash and the presentation looked very good too. The handling/packaging of the food shows that they respect the food and put best efforts into the product

Food is so good. Get the sweet potato chips and guacamole, so good. Having Crohn's and being gluten free and a vegan, going out to eat makes things tricky. Doc B's is one of my favorite places in the city. They have a great menu with lots to choose from. And they have something for everyone, even the gluten free vegan.

The food is great. The service is great at the Walton street location, but not so much at grand street. The worst part is that the prices on the menu are less than what they print on the bill. Be prepared to pay $2 more for meals and draft beer than you see listed on the menu.

Fantastic place to get a bite to eat! The sweet potato chips and guacamole are out of this world, and make sure you get a cookie sandwich. Our server Olivia took great care of us, and gave excellent suggestions for our meals especially the oatmeal raisin caramel cookie sandwich. Tony was one of THE best servers I have experienced in a while. He was friendly and accommodating beyond what is the norm. The food here was suoerb! We were there with a party of 8 but our drinks came out quickly and food came out quickly and we all felt like we could have been on a Food Network show because of how we were raving about the food!!!! It was SO good!!! Probably the best thing was that the drinks were real drinks.... other places we have been here in Chicago our drinks were mostly mixer. These guys know how to make a cocktail for sure! You will NOT be disappointed! Ask for Tony... he is the BEST server!!!

It was good, nothing stand out special for me. The food was fine but uneventful, it felt overpriced for the portion but I guess that’s downtown Chicago during the work day lunch hour. It has a nice ambiance, casual but nice. Our server was attentive. Probably wouldn’t be back because I feel like it wasn’t a very interesting experience. I got the chicken Cobb salad. Maybe a burger or entree would have been a better representation of their menu. I inquired about having steak instead of chicken on the Cobb and the server said it’d be a $10 up charge (on a $17 salad).

House Salad + Steak Frites + Key Lime Pie = perfect takeout dinner order from Doc B's. The steak was cooked perfectly and the frites were well seasoned. The house salad dressing was very good, but I didn't care for the greens mix. The key lime pie was good. Not too sweet, which I like.

We enjoyed our Friday lunch here. The restaurant has casual yet modern feel to it. We sat close to the entrance but never felt cold due to the multiple doors at the entrance. We tried the #1 tuna salad and tortilla soup. The kids loved the chicken wings and fries. The staff are friendly and efficient.

This place is always popular in the summer when they open the garage doors for fresh air seating. I went here for lunch and got the brussels sprouts salad. It was very tasty. It's a bit on the expensive side for what you're getting, but then again that's to be expected in this part of the city. I can't comment on any of the other menu items.

Right across from our hotel. Went on a Friday night. Great happy hour specials! Food and drinks were all fantastic. Wait staff was very professional. When someone from our table went to the restroom and left their cloth napkin on the table the staff very swiftly came in and replaced it with a fresh folded napkin. Very impressed! Brussel sprout salad is recommended! We will be back!

Burgers are one of the best yet noodle salad was pretty bad. Noodles weren’t cooked well, sent back to kitchen but it seems like it was heated in microwave. I asked the server and the server said they heated it on the pan. Noodle should have been recooked. Noodles were harder. They didn’t charge me for the trouble and the services was great

This restaurant is located near Michigan Avenue and is very convenient for the many hotels nearby. We stopped in at their Happy Hour to enjoy some food and drinks. The Perfect House Salad was fresh, plentiful and delicious; I paired it with a cup of soup which was also house-mad and delicious. My friend ordered the BBQ Pork Ribs.The staff was friendly, quick and very knowledgeable. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I will definitely come back here the next time I am in Chicago!

Overall: Great tasting food and options outshine the cons in this good lunch and dinner spot. The good: Great tasting food with fresh and crisp flavors, all very interesting. The menu is varied and unique and contemporary. The atmosphere is clean and modern, with tons of TVs. Portion sizes are good sized. The bad: The service was absent until we waived our hands after 10 minutes. They then got my order wrong. Lastly, the music, was a little loud. Otherwise everything was great. This was a surprising experience, just because once we arrived it seemed smaller than we expected. The staff was super friendly, very welcoming and sat us within 25 min even though it was a Friday night and we didn't have a reservation. I believe our waitress's name was Faith and she was very pleasant, took time to talk us through the menu and make small talk even though she was clearly busy. The food itself was the most surprising part because while the presentation was great the flavors were even better. The manager checked on us twice and was very visible throughout the meal. We will DEFINITELY be coming back next time we're in town and recommending it to anyone who says they're coming to Chicago.

This is my favorite restaurant in the country. I go here at least once a week, if not two to three times. The pan roasted chicken is amazing. The ribs are some of the best I’ve had and they are fall off the bone. The sweet potato fries are some of the best. The chocolate cake is great. It used to be much bigger, but I think they started reducing portion sizes. The only issue is prices has rapidly increased over the past few years. But I still love the place and would recommend it to anyone. If you’re at the bar, try one of the bacon stripes. They are good!

I really like this chain and have been to it in both south FL and Chicago. While the menu is nothing unexpected, it serves up the usuals with perfect execution and amazing (truly amazing) service. I've never been asked so many times (by random waiters, busing staff and managers alike) whether I needed anything. That was true in both locations...which means Doc B's is managed well. And this particular brussel sprouts salad (with bacon added) is my fav. You can skip the sweet potato wedges.

Matzo Ball soup and Internal Affair drink with the pan seared chicken was amazing. Nikki and the manager Diedra killed it. Having an open kitchen really gives you the opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes and these girls killed it. And the food was amazing on top of it. During my week long visit to Chicago I had the delightful pleasure of enjoying the culinary delights that Doc B's has to offer. I tried to go to a different place for each meal (easily achievable). This was the ONLY restaurant that was an excellent experience from start to finish. While this may seem contradictory, I attended the dinning experience at Doc B's twice. The first time a dark haired young woman was our server and the next night it was a more blond young woman named Hannah. The service was almost indistinguishable simply because it was perfect. They were friendly, timely, accurate, courteous and knowledgeable. They both knew what was on tap, what the special was and information about the items on the menu without checking a reference sheet or checking with the kitchen. One discrepancy is that Hannah knew that a hot tottie was suppose to be spiced with a tea or other such infusion. This was the ONLY restaurant out of the 12 other places that I ate(I don't usually eat breakfast) that didn't auction off the food to the table(ex: I've got a chicken sandwich, who had the chicken sandwich). This includes places like Cafe Lux, Labriola, Su Casa and many others of which had entrees of 20+, even weber grill where I had a $35 piece of meat and then waited 15 minutes for the waiter to deliver the check and then another 15 minutes for them to pick it up. Me and my coworkers decided after our meal on 3/16/2019 that we will be back to this restaurant many times during our visits to Chicago. This is simply a fantastic place that is a MUST go to if you are ever in Chicago, from the food to the service it is just top notch. Thank you for taking me from disappointed in the culinary offers of Chicago to enthralled and more optimistic to see what other diamonds this city has to offer. Hopefully they come close to this place.
