The Manager, Robert is the worst and extremely rude plus they over book their tables. They are a ton of better restaurants in Chicago. Never going back there again. I've been going to Chicago Cut for years....never been treated like this.

Cindy Pond

Excellent steak, nice wine list - highly recommend.

Mike Onstead

Loretta De Koster

I enjoyed a lovely dinner with staff members from Morgenthal Frederic’s recently. Great wine and food! The service was very special. I recommend the sea food platter appetizer!

Manuel Quintero

Lillian Wallace

The food was good, not exceptional. The service was good! I’ve dined here a couple times and I noticed consistently that it could be a bit more tidy (cleanliness in restroom, entryway, etc.)

Kelly Doyle

MATT MOORE AND PJ ARE THE BEST!!

marinos stratigakis

Beyond words. Exceptional service and food. The view from the main window really adds to the experience. Looking forward returning next year.

John Supple

Top notch steak and service. Even our trainee waiter 1 week into his new job was spot on. Highly recommend if you're Downtown.

Mila Ðặng

The food and drinks were great and the service was amazing. Our server was absolutely wonderful and everyone who worked there that we encountered was so friendly. As impressive as the food was, I feel like the service surpassed that and contributed to a memorable experience. The only downside was that the tables were very close together and made it hard to move in and out if you needed to get up to use the restroom or something.

Katie Stefl

Yum! Top notch service.

Trey & Jude Food Review

Very nice place. Service was fantastic and the view was stunning. Steak was great. The sides were even better. Keep in mind the sides are shareable. The chicken BLT was so so. If you want a very nice steak then go here.

Aaron Kirkwood

Great steak. Went for a drug rep dinner. Steak was cooked the way I like it. Great service.

Jonathan Mullins

We had a party of 14 and were served impeccably...the food was exactly as it should be. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides were very flavorful, the dessert medley (which was recommended by our very helpful servers) was on point. If you’re in town please call for a reservation and request Matt Jones and Sheldon Watson, they were pros and really added to our experience. Great Job by All

Rafay Khan

Great place for a nice dinner! Chicago Cut went above and beyond in ensuring that our dinner was a pleasant experience. Stephen was able to provide us with Halal steak so long as I gave him enough notice. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend Chicago cut if you are looking for great food in a great location!

Lucas K

Great food. Great service. Can’t wait to go back!

Wensday Sanders

This place is pricey. They talked me into a $90 bone in filet mignon that was just alright. They said it was so much more flavorful and juicy than just a regular one, and it wasn't. You're better off just getting a regular filet.

Ernesto Valero

.Very expensive , and workers to old fashion in many ways. But excellent stakes. Really small portions for 80 dollars. You should think about it steak houses....plenty around

Tim Arden

Fantastic views overlooking the river on the patio and the food was fantastic. Had the 10oz filet and my guests ordered the bone in filet. Loved it. Will be back.

Dyfed Richards

Currently the best steakhouse in Chicago. Worth every penny. Bar area is way too small for pre-dinner cocktails. Seating can be a little tight. Service is impeccable as is the food. Great place to celebrate and dress up.

Tiffany Jones

Nice spot, delicious appetizers, pretty good drinks, alright steaks. They’re not bad, but the steaks are missing something to make the stand out. Went for anniversary dinner, they gave us a small complimentary chocolate cake which was amazing, absolutely amazing. Seating outside, right on the Chicago river, which made it a very nice dinner. Overall, would recommend.

Michael Shin

Nice location - great view of the river from the dining room. The server, Steve, was energetic and very friendly. My wife was getting annoyed that the server barely addressed her. She had to make it a point to introduce herself to him before he even acknowledged her presence. It had a very old fashioned, boys club vibe, which is fine if you're with a bunch of dudes. But when you are in there for a dinner with your significant other, and they are being ignored, that is off-putting. The food was good, not great. I give it a 7/10. The king crab appetizer was delicious. The server touted the amazingness of their meats and steak service, and that they are arguably the #1 steakhouse in all of Chicago, which is a bold statement, considering how amazing Chicago is as a steakhouse city. My go-to steak is a bone-in ribeye, medium rare, and at Chicago Cut they are dry-aged. When my steak came out, it was burnt to a crisp. Beyond well-done. Completely gray in the center. I could tell just by looking at it when it came out, and I don't run a steakhouse. I'm not sure how it made it past the cooks, the prep-line, and the server. It was nearly black and hard as a rock. The staff was apologetic and took my steak back and was eventually replaced with a true medium rare steak. My only gripe, my wife was done with her entree before my steak made it back out, which makes for an awkward dining experience when you're trying to have an intimate meal with your loved one and one person is watching the other person eat. For a $300 meal for a couple, it did not seem any different than your run-of-the-mill steakhouse, and I profoundly categorize Chicago Cut in the mid-tier for steakhouses in Chicago. It isn't worth the premium prices. If you decide to go out for a nice steak dinner in Chicago, there are about 6 or 7 other steakhouses that I would rather go to. That's not to say you won't enjoy your meal at Chicago Cut. It's a decent meal. It is worth the premium? No. It isn't, in my opinion.

Mr. Epps

Very tasty, and professional environment. It's a bit pricey but if you can afford it, go for it!! They definitely get 5 stars from Mr. Review man!

Anna Manning - Makeup Tutorials, Beauty, Hairstyle

Great food, great drinks, and a great experience!

Dariusz Jakubowski

Awesome outdoor seating on the river. Highly suggest the Kobe hot dog.

Sabina Balbale

Loved Chicago Cut...better than most other Steakhouses in Chicago. Loved Marco....his knowledge and friendliness...he's awesome!!! Will definitely come again!

Robert Moore

. Our server Tiffany was fantastic. Food was okay. Our steaks were pre-cooked and basically heated up and served to us. Same with the crab legs. We were rushed out which was also annoying. For the money we spent, it was certainly not worth it. Much better food at basically any other steakhouse. The only thing that saved it was the nice views of the river and our server. Other than that, I’d pass.

Cesar Perez

Wonder place! Friendly staff, serves you fast and mouth watering flavor in every bite of there steaks!Views are spectacular! My only thing was a little too loud! If your looking for soft, candlelight, quiet atmosphere this ain't it!The food is Great!!

j. b.

I really enjoyed the experience here. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was a little hindered by the weather being the weather in Chicago in April, but also by how much they packed the interior in. Very tight spaces in a very large interior, but you could also take it as they were just meeting demand. It made it very loud, and hard to get from a to b, but again, the staff took this in stride and delivered amazing service. I was super impressed with the appetizers and sides. I was happy with the steak I ordered, a ribeye, but I wasn't blown away by it. Other people enjoyed their main courses about as much as I did, while others very much loved it. No one disliked their main, and I was in a group of 12. So that's quite good overall, no complaints, everyone was happy, and some had very high praise.

Natsune Takano

Excellent dinner, taste, volime, atmosphere, service and hpspitality. On my come back again list.

Beatriz Roman

Food was okay. Service was okay-it was loud and hard to communicate with staff We went for a anniversary, was not romantic. I couldn't even talk to my bf. Whipped potatoes? Tasted like boxed flake potatoes. Won't go back, we would have been better off going to fogo.

Adam Dyson

How does this place get anything less than 5-stars? I can honestly say this is the best place I have ever ate. From the host, to the waiting staff (especially Theodore -Ted-), and to the food...absolutely tremendous. Gordon Ramsey needs to check this place out if he hasn’t already. Thank you Chicago Cut Steakhouse for a terrific experience!

Christine Brewer

Very good food and attentive service.

Josh Kowalkowski

The filet mignon was likely the best I've had and was so tender you almost didn't even need a knife. This is a steak that'll be remembered. After asking around, this was one of two of the best local steakhouses recommended and it had fantastic views. We expected service to be good but it went above and beyond. Friendly and prompt but not overbearing. Pricey of course but sometimes you gotta splurge.

Scott Meoni-Ridenour

Just meh - considering we spent $400 for two people for dinner at a highly rated steakhouse in Chicago, I expected more. The food was fine but average. The service was also okay. Overall not bad but certainly not special. Great for an expense account but one can find better in this city for a special steak and seafood dinner

Joupin Ghods

Great steak, a bit pricy but worth every penny. Great set of wine selection. Steak were cooked exactly the way I wanted. Will come back on my next trip

Logan Palmer

i will be back with my coworkers. prices were decent. food is like a restaurant in jacksonville i loved.

Dennis Owens

I'll return with my friends. It has a cool interior.

Justin Bell

Always amazing, and breakfast is pretty reasonable as long as you don't add a cocktail!

Robert MacNeice

For such an upscale place I feel that the service is a bit under par. I asked questions about wine selections and they had no answer for me other than white or red. Get it together.

ed juillard

Absolutely beautiful setting with views of the River Area that are breath taking. Food beyond describeable.

Toby Godfrey

Wonderful food, service and ambiance.

Jeff VanderVeen

Absolutely amazing. Ordered the Filet with lobster tails. Steak was cooked to perfection. All our sides and apps were delicious.

Tala Fletcher

Reading other reviews here just confirms to me that they don’t care about their customers. I initially wasn’t going to review them but if this is how they handle all problems then it should be said. My husband and I went here for an anniversary dinner, after which I suffered horrible food poisoning throughout the night. Intense stomach cramps, sweating, vomiting (among other things that come along with food poisoning). I called them at least 3 times and they told me they were investigating the situation and would get back to me... never did. I refuse to go back just because they truly don’t care about their customers! If a couple goes to have a nice anniversary dinner and spends between $500-600 on a meal you would think that management would care when something goes wrong. Very disappointing! Shame on you Chicago Cut Steakhouse.

Mario Tate

Consistently one of the best in the city.

Laura Jones

PJ and Christina were outstanding! I had to wait four hours for my hotel room and so I sat in the corner of the bar. Great food, excellent conversation and fun atmosphere. AWESOME customer service!!!

B

The filet was good not great. My Cajun ribeye was extremely meh. We made a reservation for 5pm and requested a table outside. They said they could not reverse tables on the patio. Luckily when we arrived at 5 they had plenty of tables outside and sat us right away. Since there were several tables closer to the water we asked for one of them. We were told they were all reserved. But wait when I called I was told I couldnt reserve outside tables. At that point the manager came over and politely explained that you can reserve them if you're an "investor, sport star, or in politics..." Damn okay I thought my money was green too. Maybe chicago Cut could make a separate dinning room in the basement for all the second class citizens so we dont disturb high society. Really didn't care enough to right a review but the next day I heard one of their radio ads. The spokesman said Chicago Cut where everybody gets the VIP experience. What a joke! The manager basically told me I wasnt important enough for that table. Put that aside and the food was not worth the price. Plenty of great steakhouses rather than to waste money here.

George Hudson

Exceptional steak of the highest quality. Definitely USDA prime! Personally, I feel this is one of the best steakhouses in the Chicago area. Service is very good as well. And if anything does go wrong, they make sure they fix it. I appreciate that.

Vanessa Saucedo

Always a great time here.. very attentive to our children.. very clean bathrooms. I have never been disappointed with food or service.

Paul Neighbour

Excellent food and attentive waitors. The whole table enjoyed every minute.

Jeffrey Lewis

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had in my life

Heather C

Beautiful views at the outdoor seating area and a great meal.

Mike Carbone

My family and I learned of the restaurant from friends of ours. During a recent return trip to Chicago we made plans to visit the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday night and restaurant and bar areas were packed with patrons and there was an energy in the air (likely due to all the wait staff buzzing around!). The service was AMAZING and the attention to detail fantastic. So much so that at one point a guest had dropped a fork on the floor and it was scooped up and replaced in the blink of an eye! (Seriously true!) The food was perfectly prepared and flavorful. Their spirits and wine offerings are expansive so plan to spend some time reviewing the menu. That said, my most disappointing moment was the corkage arrangement. The corkage fee of $25 is reasonable although I have paid less at other restaurants in Chicago. The unfortunate experience is that the restaurant permits only one bottle of wine per table. Which, for a party of five, is a glass of wine per person. (Granted, a nit for most folks, however, key for me.) I understand the economics of maintaining a wine cellar, however, at a minimum, consideration should be given to the number of patrons at the table. I enjoy bringing wine from my wine cellar and make every effort to bring wines that are not on the restaurant's wine list. The restaurant's approach was a disappointment. There are a number of restaurants in Chicago which offer a corkage fee per bottle, which has generally been my experience. Except for this one disappointing circumstance, for every other consideration I highly recommend visiting the restaurant.

Thomas Griffith

Amazing steak and cuisine. Impeccable service. A bit loud, but hey, the crowd was lively and having a great time! Bartenders are omnipresent and attentive!

Danielle Jefferson

Great place Very loud Tuna Tartare was excellent Steak okay not as good as Rosebud Salad could have used a little more dressing Hashbrown was good Macaroni was good Seared tuna was good Lemonade was nasty Drink were strong and good (Whiskey sour) Husband had two glasses of Moscato Service was excellent Asked for window seat was seated in the middle of the room Bill for two a little under $300 And who said they didn't servicce kids...there were kids everywhere...I will assume little Johnny was a problem not the resturant

Francis McCann

Classy place... Excellent steak salad

Katina Kalos

Exceptional steak of the highest quality. Definitely USDA prime! Personally, I feel this is one of the best steakhouses in the Chicago area. Service is very good as well. And if anything does go wrong, they make sure they fix it. I appreciate that.

ddaks5

Went to Chicago Cut Steakhouse for my friend's 50th Birthday. We were treated like Royalty!!!! They were able to accommodate us without a reservation right away. The meal, the service and the atmosphere were outstanding. Thank you to Dennis Guzman and the entire team for taking care of us on this special occasion. I have eaten at other steakhouses in Chicago- you can pay more, but you won't get better than Chicago Cut Steakhouse!

Yogesh Sawant

Absolutely stunning views, lovely ambience and fantastic steaks - a lethal combination !!

Julie Akemann

There is a reason that Chicago Cut is considered the city’s best. The service is superb and the attention to all of the appetizers, drinks, and entrees was impeccable. My family and I visited over the holidays and were able to go for brunch. Pro tip: if you’re worried about the cost of a dinner here, try brunch! Average brunch entrees were about $25 and offered all the steaks at dinner service for those who want it. We loved the Bloody Mary, as well as the Steak poached eggs. Pro tip #2: ask your server if you’re debating between two items. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and offered suggestions in all price ranges. Highly recommend!!

David Soper

Large party for dinner and we were well taken care of. Not a meat eater but steaks were raved about as was the Chilean Sea Bass. Got the vegetarian (vegan options) Rissotto which was good just not great.

Brian Tibbetts

Great place, a little noisy, great patio space.

Milton Shockley

Chicago has some outstanding steakhouses. Most of them serving Prime cuts of beef. This is on the river with outstanding views and serve dry aged only prime steaks including a bone-in prime rib.

Mary Skocz

Great food,Great service, Besutiful view.

Robert T

One of Chicago's finest Steakhouses. Excellent service and perfectly grilled to order steaks.

Clark Van Halsema

Knowledgeable wait staff; classic Chicago steakhouse; delicious courses, beautiful presentation!

josh gemeinhardt

Great service, views, and steaks!

Craig Michael Waterman

The service was amazing, the staff was super friendly, nice and good at their jobs. My problem is I got a NY strip that was 33-40% pure fat uneatable. The cut was terrible. It was cooked well and tasted great but I feel like I was given a terrible steak and charged for it.

Dr. Scott Frank

Too many great steakhouse to return to Chi Cut. Pro: beautiful night with stunning river view and city lights for outdoor dining. Wait service was attentive and knowledgeable. Con: this is a $100 - $200 person dining experience. No tablecloth or preset table for us... yet some tables near us were set with tablecloth and glasses. Like we came for a picnic or something. While wait service was friendly... it did not seem sincere, sort of like... hi hum, another client. No bread offered to table and when brought, bad bread selection. Used to be great in past, not worth the calories now. Appetizers were good, not great and shrimp cocktail not so grand compared to other great steakhouses The steaks ordered were lackluster. Mine was ordered medium rare plus... the outer aspect was medium well and only the center was medium rare plus. Advised waiter and he just said the outside is always more done... as if I have never ordered filet before and don’t know how it is cooked. $52 for a filet should command steak cooked as ordered. The quality was good, not spectacular. No problem getting all of steak cooked same at other upscale steakhouses. This was similar for three of us at our table of six. Sides were good, not great. Summary: excellent outdoor seating, fair experience, good food, poor value. Don’t go here with better options and value in the city.

Micah Alton

Matt C. Took amazing care if us tonight! He was able to give us a great wine bottle recommendation to split for the table. Always a good time at this place. Always welcomed back and remembered.

Faraz Khan

Best place to have a riverside steak. The berry cobbler when is season is superb. The service is spectacular. I always get the corner sE corner table. It’s the optimal view of the entire dining room. My personal favorite seat in the establishment. Years ago the terrace was open till 2, those days are gone.... for now. But when they were doing it I came here many times a week in the summer. After all, it is technically private property and there’s no residential around. They should bring it back in the summers.

Cheryl Coleman

An absolute wonderful dining experience the food was hot and delicious steak cooked to Perfection and tender side dishes for creamed spinach and Caesar salad fresh and tasty they do bacon well. Highest compliments to the warm and attentive staff.

Gerald Lee

We went here last week for my wife's birthday, although a little pricey it's pretty much worth every bite. The view is pretty spectacular but I had better $90 steak than this.

Chelsea Miyazono

Service was excellent!

Winnie Yau

views are magnificent but not too much of a high rating on the food

Malik Floyd

Finest place to eat some food when in a rush. Their customer service is swift, pricing is convenient, excellent ambience. Highly recommended

Carl Tiedemann

Great for brunch or dinner. Service is first class.

Quanesa Sanford

Steak melts in your mouth. Omg the cajun spice on the steak is soooooooo flavorful

Kathy Baptiste

Fine dining at it's best.

Benjamin Lawson

Popular steakhouse on the river. By far from the worst place to get a steak in Chicago.

John Smollen

Good breakfast business spot

victor reis

Children allowed, but NOT welcome. My wife and I were in Chicago for a special occasion. We have our 1 year old and no babysitter so we asked if the restaurant accommodated children. We were told yes, but when we dined, it was another story. We made a reservation at 4:30PM, when restaurant traffic would be light, so as to not disturb other guests. When our child got fussy in his highchair, we asked if we could keep him in our stroller to soothe him. While the restaurant staff was happy to accommodate us, as the restaurant was mostly empty, the general manager quickly put a stop to it, despite the ample space. In addition, he belittled my wife and made her feel like an inconvenience for even asking, which RUINED our entire dining experience. I highly recommend anyone with children STAY AWAY! There are plenty of excellent steakhouses in Chicago. This one certainly does not deserve business from families.

Scott Gund

Loved every detail and my New York steak was perfect. Well aged and delicious.

Leslie Schmidt

great location to meet with friends. there was fast and courteous service. feeling here is similar to a cafe in san jose i liked.

Tony Frego

Soup was outstanding. My filet was undercooked. Disappointed as I eaten here many times before and not experienced my steak being cooked incorrectly.

Catherina Vasquez

My first time here.. great service, food and view! 100%recommended!

Us CCW

Excellent service. The staff is very professional and helpful. Look forward to visiting this venue during the summer season.

Antony Gross

Waterfront, high end steakhouse.

Kamran Shafi

Nice for delivery, taste nice.

Maribeth Dueder

This is one of the best meals we've had in quite awhile, and maybe the best steak I've ever eaten (overtaking Cut by Wolfgang Puck).

Alberto Sepulveda

Excellent restaurant! I loved it

Marcy Banks

We were late comers but the welcome was great. My med well steak was a bit charred to the taste. Surprising for me because I love a little char but it tasted burnt. Lobster Mac n cheese was good but the seafood taste was strong. The horseradish sauce was so good! My favorite part

Richard Zehme

The Aged New York strip was excellent. I also must say the Cherry Pie was very good too. If you're looking for a great steak dinner this is the place to go.

Sharon Bradley

This is a lovely place on the river. Food was delicious. Service was great for the first half hour. It was the noisiest fine dining restaurant we have ever visited - and we've been to a lot of them. Will NEVER go back.

Rich Sheppard

Best steak I ever had - ever. What a wonderful experience. David Kaplan of ESPN 1000 speaks about this place often. He gave me his recommendations and we landed there for my 50th. Wow. From the food, to the servers, and atmosphere, was incredible. Need to say again that this was the best steak ever. I highly recommend!

Vincent Stokes

Another one of my favorite restaurants. The brunch is amazing. The patio is something you must experience. Superior service..

Eddie Binion

The food at this place was AMAZING! I literally had nothing to complain about. I had two Martinis and they were also AMAZING. I don’t think there was one thing in this restaurant that I was disappointed by. The people were very nice. The best dinner that I’ve ever had was had here so thank you Chicago Cut!

Fit Chic

I am giving this a 2 star based on the customer service. When I go to a steakhouse and spend $300 on dinner, I am expecting a great level of service. This place was clearly understaffed. My server was so busy attending to an excess amount of tables, he slipped up on nearly every visit to our table. This is only a summary. I notified him immediately that I was celiac (gluten free). And we waited an eternity to order, as he asked if we were ready, I said “yes” and he left to do other things. Then came back and said “oh I thought you said no.” He asked again about food allergies at the 2nd course. He had to be reminded after the entree was delivered to bring the wine (which was ordered at the beginning). It took a very long time for the ordering and getting the check. The food was as expected, but not excellent (4 star), for the price.

Wendi Witmer

Food was fantastic as well as the service

Neil Christopher Apeles

We went for dinner on a weekday and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. The restaurant has outdoor seating with many outdoor heaters which was nice. The outdoor seating was adjacent to the river with stunning city views especially at night. Service was top notch and the server was knowledgable about the menu items. Overall, it was a great place and definitely worth trying out. We would return to this restaurant again.

Bobby Delestowicz

Chicago Cut ..... always delivers. The food is prepared to a Michelin star perfection and the service is hands down to any other restaurant in chicago. Please, if you have the time to enjoy food, company and downtown atmosphere there is NO other place than Chicago Cut.

kwangtaeg lee

Bone in steak was great!

michael brcic

Gumbo soup was great (think it's a Wednesday thing). Skirt steak had a nice crust. Mashed potatoes and green beans average.

GOLNAZ AKHGAR

This place came highly recommended but unfortunately it was very disappointing. Most of our meals were cold and when you shell out $70 for a steak you expect a lot more. Tyler, our waiter was amazing throughout and gave us a great service. Hopefully it was a one off as they were closing the restaurant early for fumigation.

Mingxi Dennis Yu

Beautiful riverfront view. Excellent steak I got the filet. The wait staff are very knowledgeable, funny, and friendly. The peanut butter dessert was tremendous

Louis Khor

Phil Vettel talks about the "Holy Grail of Prime Rib."

Tyler MacPhee

My team went there for pizza. It was a great experience! Really tasty food and nice/professional staff.

Emma Fox-Lind

Oh my.... this food was one of the best meals my husband and I ha w e we had! Every taste was incredible. The service was top notch could not fault this place. It’s pricey but worth it for a special occasion!

Jacob Campione

I was excited to go here. I finally got to go the night before yesterday. Walking in, the restaraunt looked really nice. We decided to sit outside and glad we did because it was a perfect night and the view was great. For the most part service was also great. Now for the steak. I ordered (on the waiters recommendation) the $69 bone-in ribeye. I ordered it medium rare. My wife ordered a cheeseburger. We recieved our food and everything seemed ok until I cut into the steak. The middle was hot and 99% gray. I called the waiter over and asked him if that looked medium rare... and according to their scale should have been warm and red. He looked, squinted then pulled out a flashlight and pointed out to me that there was a slight ribbon of pink in there (I could barely see any pink). I still wasn't convinced but I wanted to have a nice night with my wife so I let it go. The steak was also VERY under seasoned. Fast forward 30 mins, a table that was sat after I questioned the steak called the waiter over and asked him the same exact thing. This guy wasn't having it. He had three managers with flashlights looking at his steak as well. I'm not sure if he got his money back but he didn't get a new steak. I feel like if you are spending $70 on a steak, you should get it how you want. I wish I would have pushed the issue a little more but what's done is done. It seemed like that the restaurant had no interest in making the meal right but was comfortable resting on its reputation of being a hotspot for celebrities. I will try every other steakhouse in Chicago before I go back but if I'm ever there again, I will get the cheeseburger. It was $18 and tasted 10x better.

Joe Bliss

Just blown away with the service that was given. Food is top notch.

Chris Runge

Great steak and view from the river.

Steve Czosnyka

Simply speechless, the food dissolves itself in your mouth, it’s delicious. The wines are top notch. Staff is incredibly trained and extremely polite. Atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. Highly recommend

Keynice Moore

This is hard to review because we had amazing service and the steaks we received were super juicy and cooked perfectly but my god they lacked flavor. Even the Au Poivre sauce was bland. My husband and I was like this is the most confusing meal ever.

David McMasters

Excellent service, atmosphere and drinks. Start with the the lobstercargo and tuna tartare. The bone in ribeye was cooked perfectly and creamed spinach was great for a side.

HJ Yang

5 stars for the food we ate there. It was delicious! The service was even better! Top quality service with top qualify food makes a pleasant experience. I will be returning again as soon as I can! There is no questioning the 4.4 stars they have earned over 1000+ reviews. Keep up the great work!

Brian Witzel

Great service, great food, great view!

Geovonnie Louissaint

Crab cakes, creamed spinach, and a bottle of wine make a great evening.

Alex

My go-to place for great red meat & red wine in Chicago.

Saim khan

Best stakes and shakes

Rick Hogan

Great steaks and other dishes. A bit on the expensive side, though. Not a good choice for a cheap date.

James Bass

one of the best steaks I've had in a while. the manager came over to check on us and gave us some great recommendations of things to do in the city during our trip. will be back!

Steve Lindeman

Very good meal. Service was okay but not overly friendly. For the price Chicago has better options as our meal for two was over $360.

Analyse Cinquegrani

First time here and it won’t be the last! Rodney was awesome, food was amazing.

Grace Bedell

This was a wonderful experience! The food was excellent, the service was amazing. I had the tuna tartare and the thick cut bacon as an appetizer, both were delicious and I highly recommend them! I had the Alaskan Halibut as an entree (this dish is served when it is available but is not a permanent item on the menu) as well as a few other dishes to share with the table (dry aged bone in ribeye, Chilean seabass, filet mignon, king crab legs, lobster tail. As well as side dishes like Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, and some extra seasonings and sauces) all of these dishes were absolutely delicious. I then decided to have a single shot of espresso and shared tiramisu, peanut butter pie, and creme brulee. Many of these dishes I will show below! Now while the food was divine I will say that although this is a steakhouse, for the price I would rather go to a few other choice restaurants in Chicago for the meat itself. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious and juicy, cooked to perfection, but the "dry aged" steak wasn't as funky and deep in notes and flavors as some others I've had. Now, this could be due to the steak we picked. But if you wanted an elaborate flavor profile. Look at something else. The fish was absolutely astounding in so many ways! however, the Chilean seabass seemed a little pricy for what you get. For a total of 49$ you get a slab of seabass that is of moderate size, in a sauce with some greens on the side. Delicious! But a bit underwhelming when weighing the cost. The tiramisu and all the deserts were so good I can't even find the words to describe them! I highly recommend them if you go! The drinks were also fantastic. I went with a classic Shirley temple that did not disappoint!!! Overall the place was an experience I will never forget. But I would ask a lot of questions about flavor profiles and dishes when I go back in order to get the best for my dollar.

First time visit. Great location, nice river view. The split pea soup was delicious. Everyone in our party enjoyed their entrees. Great service, just right, not over the top. We will return soon to try other menu items.

The waiter took the wrong order for my fiance and when the order was corrected they brought out a burnt steak

Amazing views of the river and delicious food

Visted at 10:15 on a Thursday, wanted a quick bite to eat before travelling. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient, I was a little bit early for lunch, however, they were accomodating for a salad. The waiting staff were also friendly and efficient. A great view of the river and a well maintained restaurant. Prices were a bit on the high side, yet, I'd be interested visiting for a steak.

While visiting Chicago we booked a reservation for my wife’s birthday. The location was great and the restaurant was nice, however the acoustics in the place were horrible. Extremely loud. The food was good...PRICEY, but good. The service was disappointing. We felt rushed and pressured. Our reservation was at 9 and there didn’t seem to be many more new guests after we arrived, but the waiter visited us no less than 4 times before we were ready to order our first drink. Pressured, because we got the feeling since we didn’t order a second drink or an appetizer that we weren’t doing him any favors. The entrees came very fast and they were both hot, well portioned and tasty. I had called ahead to inform them that it was her birthday to see if they did anything special, which they delivered a delicious desert on the house. However, after receiving the bill the waiter underlined the what the total should have been had we paid for the desert...presumably so we knew what to tip him on. Super BUSH LEAGUE! We tipped our usual 20%, but won’t be rushing back anytime soon for that kind of experience.

This place is amazing. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon (medium) with a side of asparagus - they were cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Stunning food and good portion sizes. The waiters gave incredible personal service and were very knowledgeable of the food and drinks on offer, particularly Marco. They were also very attentive in ensuring our water glasses were full as well as our cocktails. Highly recommended. We came from London and are glad to have been able to experience this restaurant.

Pretty typical downtown fine dining with food on par with the pricing. The atmosphere is a little lacking with random pop music playing over the speakers and patrons so loud that it is difficult to hear the wait staff describe the menu. The dining room is also so packed with tables that at times it is difficult to navigate. The drinks menu is provided on an iPad which, while effective at showing off the impressive offerings, is a nusiance once sitting on the table taking up the already limited space. This place is a nice detour if you're from out of town, but I think there are other equitable offerings in the city for Chicagoans who don't like to trek downtown.

Amazing service, food was cooked to perfection. Fine dining!

Serving staff was pretentious, slow and ignorant Food was average at best.

It was so savory. The service was very welcoming and sociable. Prices are appropriate. Food is similar to a cafe in Portland I liked.

Came here for Valentines Day. Overall, good experience but not great considering it was $280 for 2 with glasses of wine and tip. Service was good, but too many employees walking around and bumping into each other and us in our chairs. Excellent steaks and views.

Randy Summerville

Obviously the steaks but the burger is one of my favorites and the BRUNCH is a unknown gem on the weekends. Rarely a wait and the bonus of the outside patio on the river!

Matthew Ridgeway

Great service and good food in a fantastic location. The meat seems to be cooked one level lower than what you asked for so if you want medium rare ask for medium for example.

Chicago Cut Steakhouse helped me celebrate Father’s Day with my dad and my parents’ anniversary. I cannot speak highly enough of Ted and the team he lead here. Great venue filled with exciting energy in the restaurant and great views of the river. The staff is knowledgeable and define attentiveness. The extra courtesy provided us to celebrate the anniversary left my parents speechless. With front house staff like this, it should not surprise that the kitchen executes very well. This is a lesson on how to put together a classic steakhouse menu with an impressive array of seafood. The sea bass is rich and delicate. As a fan of traditional escargot, the ‘lobstercargot’ is an innovative take on a French speciality (pictured during tableside prep). Feel good and eat well with the Chicago Cut Steakhouse.

Wow.. Superb service and excellent food as per my colleague from Italy! Right on the river, beutiful setting!

Outstanding service, delicious food and a beautiful view of the city. I brought my wife here for her 50th birthday yesterday. We were very pleased with our experience.

I had the NY Prime Steak, whipped potatoes and sauteed broccoli & spinach. Steak was very flavorful I must say and the sides were good, the place was jammed packed!!

Good food and the service is always exceptional. The steak is a must have here for dinner. This is also a great "secret" brunch spot on weekends with amazing deals on the same great food! Portions are sized for an army, so you won't leave hungry! Also has great river views and perfect outside seating in summer.

It is a 3 1/2 to 4 star restaurant at 5 star prices. We were there for an Anniversary dinner and expensive steaks are not our regular fare. But we splurged for a special occasion. Service was excellent and ambiance was fine. Food was a disappointment... 1. Delmonico steaks were over cooked. They claim that their meat is hand cut and it showed. One was thicker than the other and therefore one more over-cooked than the other. Flavor was ok for what it was. It was too much delay to send it back & start ordering all over again. Pros who specialize in these steaks don’t blow it. 2. Ordered Brussels sprouts as a veg. We are al dente fans but they were only warm and hard to cut even with a steak knife. They were served with tiny chips of nueske bacon. Costs almost nothing to embellish the dish with a proper amount of bacon. 3. A small point but stars come with attention to details...the steak knife should be sharp. To cut away the fat from the meat, the knife wasn’t sharp enough to cut, it only tore the meat. Will only consider Ruth’s Chris or Smith & Wollensky in Chicago in the future. Individuals and business dinners beware, don’t waste your money or your businesses reputation with this choice.

If you are looking for a good quality steaks house, this place is it! I preferred the skirt steak and it was beyond amazing. Chris was an awesome hostess and overall staff was very attentive. Your glass will never be empty and you will never need to wave your hand they are always there for whatever you need. Definitely will be back!

DeAndre Catchings

Loved this place great food, the waiter was very attentive.

Tim Moon

The best Steakhouse in all of the Midwest. Cliches abound but sticking to the point, this place is simply the best!

Ryan Howard

Food and drinks are amazing. The service is incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend checking them out.

Nina Miller

Although the hostess that sat us was rude we had an amazing dining experience. The waiter was great. The food was really good. I had the octopus salad, my favorite.

Terrence Gladney

The food was ok. However the service was not good. Our server was rather rude and being sarcastic. Also the other servers damn near stared at my wife and I while we chewed every bite making us feel a little uncomfortable. I really want to say who the server is but i don't want to get her in any trouble. I may or may not return. Fix the service and maybe i will....
