Great atmosphere and good food.

Lovely experience! First, we felt very welcomed. Second, we were surprised with each plate we ordered. Third, we finished the dinner with a delicious cake covered with sea sal caramel. The restaurants is very cozy.

Ghiane Jones

I always enjoy my meals and the service here at Chez Moi. The menu consists of classic French dishes as well as some innovative dishes. I've always had very good salmon and French onion soup. Great place for a tasty casual and cozy French dinner.

Good environment

Keith K

Good food in a lively ambiance.

Jacqui Foss

Great food and a quaint small restaurant. Good variety of foods.

Douglas Dalrymple

The food is consistently good... Service is consistently inconsistent.

Christian L

Nice ambiance and decor. Service and personnel was pleasant. The food however had no flavor. Very disappointed in the taste and creativity. Not recommended if you are looking for French food or any king of food for that matter.

Bob Maslowski

Outstanding food. Good selection of reasonably priced French wines.

Jeremy DuBrul

Overall, it was very good. Shared a few apps: charcuterie and pates. His pate is excellent. Not sure why the think sliced prosciutto was rolled up tightly? Thought it was odd. Good steak tartare. Had the Cassoulet and it was pretty good. Cassoulet is one of those dishes that is very subjective and I like the beans to be creamier and the stock to be a bit richer/ meatier. Something where the stock is more gelatin/ sticky. But it was tasty. Deserts here are very good.

Ray C

Not authentic but good place to dine casually.

I came to this place recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint service was good and friendly, food was hearty and flavorful and the environment was really cozy plus I couldn't resist taking a picture of the presentation of the food because it was really pretty, I just wish the pictures could show how pretty the dishes looked like when they arrived to the table. Host was nice and friendly too, he stopped by our table a couple times to see how everything was going and our glades were never empty.

Christina Stanley

Outstanding spot for quality french food. It's so tasty. The service was very welcoming and observant. It has an awesome feel to it.

Tim Croft

We had the Chicago Restaurant Week menu. Most was excellent. Service was also great; beer & wine menu was suited.

Ian Battaglia

Good food, but expensive.

Hollina U

Always in search for a decent French place, so ended up here upon recommendation of a friend. I also had the $35 Groupon for $65 worth of food. Ordered the mussels and the escargots. Mussels in Chicago always disappoint me, since they're so small, but at least the broth it was cooked in was delicious--- my friend went to town dipping her bread and the fries in the broth. I wasn't a fan of the escargot--- not flavorful enough--- they needed to salt the sauce. At least the puff pastry on top was an interesting touch. Ordered the skate, which was prepared pretty well, but I still am just not a fan of skate. The rainbow trout had to be my favorite--- can't go wrong when you have fish and quinoa. Ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert, which was divine. Our server was fantastic and super friendly. Good restaurant overall, but Paris Club still has to be my favorite for French food! -

Service was ok. Food subpar. Atmosphere was wonderful

susan grove

Nice atmosphere, good service, authentic, delicious food

Maybe not on a holiday...My husband and I went on Valentine's Day. We've never eaten French cuisine before. It was super packed and a set menu was provided. I will go'again. Service was good. Profiteroles we're overdone. Instead of golden brown. They were a little bit more on the dark side. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Chandu Rao

The Moscow mule, lamb shank main course and the creme brulee are simply awesome! The appetizers we're just so-so or may be our pallette didn't quite appreciate it as much. Nice ambience for a get together with family/friends (not loud) and …

Date. Night. Loved it! Go for the bacon and sour cream tarte - amazing. The Oeuf appetizer was just okay, the ratatouille was great but small. If I were to go back I would get the mussels and a steak, but the menu has a ton of options. Decent wine list, affordable, and food was wonderful. Really cute restaurant too, so looking forward to going back!

Alexei Marshakov

The best traditional French cooking in Chicago. Everything from the bread to desert is very well made and delicious. Wine list is not large but satisfying.

John Fitterer

My wife and I love this place. It is cozy and romantic with a small but varied menu. We've been here 3 times and are amazed with each of the dishes we have gotten.

Javier Yu

Went here for a date night with my girlfriend. I'm not from Chicago so I was hesitant, but we knew we wanted something upscale and romantic feeling. This place was perfect for the date, and the food was phenomenal. Highly reccomend the Gateau Breton Salidou for dessert.

Amber Hanks

The chef is a genius. The food is amazing and the service is knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve been very impressed every time I dine at Chez Moi. If they have the Beef Wellington when you visit I highly recommend it!!!

donna foley

The staff was very friendly & helpful without being intrusive. Enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. The onion tart and blueberry & vodka drink were fantastic. We’ll be back!

Lucy Anderson

I bought $20+ chicken that was dry and chalky

Neury Freitas

Cozy restaurant that indeed looks like a French bistro. Service was great, including special attention and patience with our two kids. Food was delicious and, as expected, portions were small. Highly recommend.

Jason Rose

French food and service at this location is great. visited about four, it was not full. the service was very welcoming and sociable. the place has a cool atmosphere.

Jarett Woodard

Got desserts only. The chocolate mousse was excellent and a large portion. Creme brulee was great. The rustic bread they serve before the meal was actually my favorite part. Good wine too.

Joe M

Cozy environment and excellent service. A nice place for date night!

adam callif

my expectations where much higher than the food i felt it can be special but lacked the complex flavors I have had with other French food.. Its a great atmosphere and great service just could have been more "impressed" by the food.. Sorry

Emily Thornton Calvo

Great staff. Quiet side room. Wonderful food. Not handicapped accessible.

PA F

the mussels and onion tarte are wonderful to start off with. Order the lamb dish after with the Malbec and you will guarantee a good meal. Would definitely recommend and planning on going back.

Elliot Stelsel

It was a little expensive, but the groupon made it quite affordable and the food, ambiance, and decor were fantastic! A very classy place to have dinner with friends, or a great romantic spot for a couple.

The food is

Maxwell Thimmig

First class French food. I had the steak tartare and the vegetarian cassoulet, the latter of which was shockingly good. I wouldn't recommend the Apple tart for dessert, however. It had a bitter flavor to it that I couldn't put my finger on. Overall excellent and I would definitely come back. Very reasonably priced as well.

Jeanette Hady

Dining in the gracious and inviting atmosphere at Chez Moi is always a culinary delight. I highly recommend this excellent restaurant.

Matthew Gall

Really solid French dishes. We tried 2 new menu items (the Wahoo & beef Madeira) which were both tasty. Profiteroles for dessert were okay, but maybe that is my preference and I just don't like them in general. The creme brulee was better in my opinion.

Daisy Miller

Absolutely the best French food in Chicago!!!!!! The food and wine selection was incredible. We love going on 1/2 wine nights! Just a piece of advice- get the soup and get the chocolate lava cake!!!!!! So goooooodddddd!!!!!!!

Christian Gilbert

Nice place. Attentive staff and great food. Well priced.

Laura Freeman

Tad expensive

Amelia Jane Castle

An amazing special event! Merci!!

Yet another "Check Please" recommendation that didn't pass muster. Only four tables filled at brunch, but they got both our orders wrong. Eggs Benedict come with the smallest eggs I have ever seen. Maybe they were using quail eggs. And if you expect two eggs, don't make the mistake of ordering the Crab Benedict because it comes with only one teeny egg & the crab cake on one half the muffin, the other muffin half is empty. It costs more though. Side salad was OK but unremarkable. Oddly, it was served with French fries. OK, pommes fritte. Call them what you will, even Mcdonalds doesn't use that much salt. Coffee was hot brown water. The bread was delicious! Hopefully they do a better job with dinner.

James Patterson

I enjoyed coming in during their weekday brunch. Unfortunately, they couldn't cut it, and had to return to a schedule of just weekday evenings. This is probably due to the fact that a lot of their food is prepared well in advance, their staff and management is a revolving door, and most importantly, Mon Ami Gabi is so much better. But I digress. Now, I always found the Boeuf Bourguignon reliable. Until my most recent visit. Normally moist and tender, this time it came to me cold and dry. The mashed potatoes also were a tad gummy and gluey. I decided to inform the manager. I believe his name is Chode? But per usual, he was distracted by friends, as he was far too comfortable and casual for them to be patrons. However, he did offer to give me 20% off for the inconvenience and a "nice reach around" if I was interested in following him downstairs. I am not sure what a reach around is, but I hope it is not their "hard-as-rock" Brittany Cake. Nevertheless, I will probably give them another chance in the near future. We will see if Chode can improve.

Manuel Sanchez

Complete menu with traditional french fare and good drink options. Excellent dessert, and most importantly an excellent waiting staff.

Lauren B

Went here last Saturday with another couple and had a great time. BYOB is awesome, parking is easy on the street or is very close to the brown line or metra. Inside is cute and the staff were overall, very nice. We had the duck, steak frites, and creme brule. 1. The duck was amazing and so well portioned for the price. 2. Steak frites were solid, but I'd say just a hair on the side of too done for a medium rare steak and 3. the creme brule was amazing. Only off part about the night was when our entrees came out one was wrong and while it took us a few minutes to flag someone down one of the runners said "oh this is the wrong entree isnt it!" and he quickly switched us out, so I'm assuming there was just a mix-up. When the waiter came around to apologize he more or less blamed the runner. Fine, no biggie. Then we put in our dessert orders and the wrong dessert comes out again (for the couple we were with) and nothing was really said about it. I just find that a little annoying, but hopefully those kinks are worked out soon.

Adam Basuljevic

Fantastic service and solid food amidst a swath of nearby pretentious eateries.

Ashley Pierce

The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs, and extremely personable. The food was very delicious!

Travis Johnson

Excellent breakfast! Try them out for restaurant week!

Noel Brewer

Bistro style neighborhood place. The sort of place you go because it's next door but wouldn't go cross town for.

Robert Ingraffia

Good food and a friendly staff. The place for excellent French cuisine.

mason dent

Meeeeeeeeh.

Sam Bottoms

Great little gem. Very relaxed brunch. Lovely decor and awesome prices on brunch favorites like mimosas and bloody Mary's. Had the Crepes grande mere au gratin which was like a cheesy version of a Sheppard's pie. The warm apple tart we topped it off with was a good choice as well Solid service, our waiter Sam, who I was disposed towards for obvious reasons, was attentive and even fixed up our mistake when it got confused as to whether we ordered a carafe of mimosas or bloody Mary's.

Jolynn Karas

Went for lunch at 2pm on Saturday November 10th. We had the French onion soup and lentil soup Absolutely delicious but we ordered the Steak fritz to share and they brought us the breakfast Steak fritz and if our server would have stopped by to see if everything was ok we could have gotten it corrected but 15 minutes later she did and we let her know that we didn't order that she said can I get you the one you wanted. We declined the problem with her is she offered no apology for her mistake. The manager was great he took it off the check.

Angelika Tkachenka

Very nice place, reasonable price!

Mikey Griesbaum

Decent French food. Moderate prices

alex nye

Good food, good service, nice bathrooms

Went here hoping for good French food and wasn't disappointed. The vibe of the restaurant is very French and the food was great. We ordered the cheese plate, carb cake, french toast and croissants. Everything was delicious, even the fries …

(Translated by Google) Good but not delicious, the place is nice and they have brunch. There is not a lot of variety or fruits (Original) Bien pero no delicioso, el lugar es lindo y tienen brunch. No hay muchísima variedad ni frutas

I've lived in this neighborhood for five years and I can't believe I haven't tried this place before. Great experience .

Keri Price

Cozy atmosphere with delicious food. Stopped in for a drink and appetizer - ended up having the onion tart and squash pasta special. Delightful food and staff. Look forward to going back to try the roasted garlic!

Ryan Paul

Pretty good food, terrible service. Kitchen was slow, tables are too close together. Overall poor experience.

William Herrera

Consistently tasty, healthy, beautiful food. Attentive service. 100% recommended!

Tom Perkins

Amazing food with a fantastic atmosphere. Very nice touch seeing the owner interacting with all the tables and even help with the service of some of the food. Really feels like a home there.

Samuel Waggoner

Chez Moi was absolutely delicious for the appetizer, main course, dessert and wine. Onion tart was the appetizer - a little like pizza, and I don't know if that was traditionally French. Our mains were lamb shank with couscous and a sea …

E Buck

Tried this spot before with my friend and I am addicted since then. I loved the great vibes and yummy food and beverages. Highly recommended.

Alex Golod

Very nice French brasserie style place in the heart of Lincoln Park, close to Theaters, like Steppenwolf. Have special and prix fixe menus too. Classic French staples, and some interesting New Orleans style dishes. Pretty decent wine list too. The prices are reasonable, in my opinion, too.

Jennifer Tagle

I went in for a quick lunch and had exceptional service. Chris is by far one of the best server/bartenders I have ever had. I will definitely be coming back and will recommend this establishment to friends and my family

Joseph August

A great little French place. We went there with family and the food was spectacular. They have a large and good wine list and lots of specialty dishes that are really, really good. Highly recommend whatever their seasonal sepals are.

Beverly Carroll

Thursday all you can eat pei mussels...really cute atmosphere and excellent customer service

Jeff Lawler

Wonderful country french experience and Chad is a warm and welcoming addition to Chez Moi.

Barbara Crist-Nepp

The food was outstanding. It was too bad our server had to tend the bar as well as serve tables. The wait for our food, our dessert, and our drinks was frustrating.

Alexander Kuznetsov

Great food, service and ambience!

Aaron Gilbert

Everything was very good: food, wine, cocktails. There were some dishes that weren't really French. Portions sizes we're good.

john schaffer

Great service. Phenomenal food. Wonderful attitude. What more could anyone ask!

Imogene Santiago

Wonderful French food for not being in Paris. Wait staff on top of things. French onion bloody Mary's are outstanding!!! Yes ive been to Paris and i know good food!

john jr falkenholm

Jesse Hagensen

Eggs Benedict, brunch. Good food, good service.

Amber Phillips

Great service! Food is outstanding. The atmosphere is cozy and I will come back again for dinner.

Linda Grounds

We had several small plates (the chilled pea with mint soup, the beet salad, the beautiful steamed artichoke, and then shared the mussels. The dishes were delicate, nuance and delicious. We agreed that it was the best French meal at a reasonable price that we have had in a long time.

Bonnie Mayol

Attentive service. I had the tres prix of trout, salad and creme brulee for dessert. Froie gras appetizer and escargot. Everything was delicious! Great ambiance. Street parking only

Belle Lopez

Enjoyed Sunday’s $32 Prix Fixe Menu with Hit/Miss dishes. Brown Bag. One of a kind addictive TIRAMISU. Unusual for me to like seared SALMON and big veggies. There is a general sweet taste to all dishes.

Tina Piotrowski

Cute quaint place. Attentive staff and great food. Well priced. Great place to go with a small group (4 people) friends or quiet date night. This place is becoming a regular place.

Kyle Dahl

Overall: A fantastic French dining experience without being over-the-top classy, a great option for date night or to impress. The good: Came here for a private event with a free 4-course meal along with wine pairings. The menu was fantastic. The pear salad was a perfect combo of sweet and creamy/savory with bleu cheese. The scallops were my favorite, drizzled with honey and a buttery polenta - a perfect combo. The lamb shank was also top notch, super tender and falling off the bone. The service was very friendly as was the main chef, who gave an intro and outro speech. The not-so-good: The private room we were in was pretty cramped. The gateau breton was a little lackluster compared to all of the other magnificent courses, but it was still great. Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Food: 9/10

Susan Nguyen

I just want to talk about their community presence in Lincoln Park. They built a small herb garden that is meant to share with the neighborhood. You just have to ask and they will cut you some herbs. That amazing.

alison sparrow

Best authentic french restaurant in town for the reasonable prices

Teala LeBlanc

Great food, great wine, great service, cozy atmosphere, historic building. What more could you ask for?

Cory Coulter

The food was decent but nothing special. The creme brulee was cold and chewy instead of warm and crunchy on top. The music didn't fit the atmosphere of the place.

Adrian Zdanowski

One of the most delicious spots in Chicago. Small chic Cafe with great food.

Margaret Carton

My boyfriend and I went here on our first date. It is the perfect spot. It is fancy but not over the top. There is a romantic environment with quality french food.

Graham Harwood

Excellent dinner. Be sure to get there early if you're going to.the steppenwolf

Natalie Dirks

Service and atmosphere were excellent, the food was good but not great.

Elizabeth Uchiyama

French dining from the Chef who reigned at Bistro 110. Excellent service, welcoming atmosphere with two dining rooms and white linens. Classic dishes like Duck a L'orange, Cassoulet and Pate Fois Gras are graced with wine pairings with suggestions from a knowledgeable staff. Bread is a rustic brown, not classic French baguette, but dinner was memorable enough for us to plan a return visit. Reservations recommended.

John Campbell

Wonderful French bistro featuring great wines and daily dinner specials.

Nicole Williams

Small, but beautiful restaurant with a highly delicious menu and brilliantly wonderful staff.

Andrew Levin

Wow, What a gem. I never went to Cafe Bernard (the restaurant that was previously here), but I'm sure glad I visited Chez Moi. The food is fantastic, the service is impeccable and I can't wait to go back. We tried a bevy of menu items and were thrilled with all of them. Like I said, this was my first time, but if it's consistently like this, you really can't go wrong. I'm counting the days until my next dinner there.

Lisa Shaw

Great staff! We had an amazing dinning experience! They we're so great with our kids.

Diana Grossman Tantra Butterfly

Honestly I'm so disappointed because last night I wanted a special treat by ordering just from the dessert menu. Both of the dessert items one specifically recommended by my waiter and the one I decided to choose were bland, flavorless and most definitely isn't traditional French cuisine or pastry because ten years ago I visited Paris and I actually sampled traditional French pastries and desserts and what I received last night was just bad. The server was very polite and chose dessert for me and I went with his suggestion and selected a gateau... resting on a gigantic moat of sweet caramel sauce and on top of the cake was a scoop of simple vanilla ice cream. I bit into the butter cake but it was dry, heavy and bland. I wanted to like it and I do have a sweet tooth but it wasn't tasty or creative nor pretty to look at . All desserts here are way overpriced and for $9.25 i had expected my dessert to be flavorful and creatively prepared so the waiter took it back and I chose profiteroles instead but as pretty as they were I couldn't enjoy the floured hard biscuit pastry surrounding the vanilla ice cream . I picked through my ice cream enjoyed the chocolate sauce and left the flavorless puff pastry dough behind. He made a cocoa for me and since it wasn't a beverage they normally serve I was charged a fee of $4 and since it wasn't high end drinking chocolate I felt overcharged and underwhelmed. I love sitting outside though and the service here was perfect but the desserts were so disappointing. I came here to get desserts not dinner so I can't review the other items offered but I'm not sure I want to experience another meal here based on the bland desserts I tried.

Randa Seif

Will not come here again! Cappucino was a latte! Very disappointed. We cam for a brunch and it took 35mi to get the food and we were only 3 tables.

Debbie Cummins

The entire meal from appetizers to desert was 2nd to none. The atmosphere was charming and our server was informative & attentive but did not intrusive. I'll be back.

Helga Mintori

juste ok

cj ussov

Iconic building, nice to seat and enjoy good food, with great service

Enrique Pinon

I'm a little late on this one but I took my girlfriend here on valentine's day. The food really just is magnificent and the prices are very reasonable. I ordered a medium rare steak but it came out medium but it's close enough honestly. The French onion soup made me want to take it back home with me instead of my girl friend. I would definitely recommend this place on date night.

Gene D

Great French food and nice atmosphere.

Sheryl Davis

Delicious food from apetizer to dessert♡ Waiters were so gracious.

Alexandra Beiriger
