One of my favorite Asian restaurants in the area. I always get the Dolsot bibimbap which tastes amazing. Portion size is perfect and the side dishes always go good with the main dishes. The owners and employees are very kind and always treat you great while you are there. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant.

We have been coming to this Korean restaurant since 2015. The food itself is no doubt awesome. It really tastes like homemade Korean food. The dining place is clean and well organized. However, there are a few downsides that make us hesitated to come here more frequently. First of all, they are not really generous on refilling your side dishes or water/tea. It doesn’t matter whether you have two people or six. You have to ask for the refill. Secondly, they don’t bring out the side dishes until the main ones are out. This is very different from other Korean restaurants we have been to. Those side dishes could help a lot for customers who have been waiting at the table for 15 minutes. One reason that I hypothesize is that they do this trick to reduce the number of refills. Finally, the portion of BBQ dishes is too tiny for the price. For a $59.99 beef short rib BBQ, you are lucky if you can get one pound of beef on the grill. That’s just ridiculous…

Service is good and the atmosphere is fun. The food is a little pricey, especially if you actually do the Korean BBQ instead of ordering a dish. They gave us a lot of side options to mix into our dish which was cool. The rice and fish cakes appetizer is really delicious and can be spicy for some, but I recommend it.

Although a few of the side dishes are just a bit lackluster in flavor or texture, the main dishes are mindblowingly delicious. Unfortunately I can't recall the names of what I had, but one was the chicken in a sweet sauce with spice added - incredible. My parents let me try their dishes as well. The beef stew was very flavorful, tender, and rich. The cellophane noodles with beef were sauteed in a sesame sugar and soy sauce, sweet but still very complex flavors!! I can't wait to come back and try new things!!

Would give zero stars if possible. This place took extremely long to respond. I had to wait almost about 2 and half hours for a meal to come. I even pressed the bell, and no one responded to me. I could of already finished and ate all my meal at home if it was a normal day. I decided to temporarily not come to this place and go some other Korean restaurants.

This is one of better korean restaurant in northern suburb. Price is on par or bit cheaper than the other korean restaurantsl. I typically order table cooked bulgogi on domed plate with lip to hold stock on the edges. That dish has been consistently good for past 3 years or so. I also am partial to squid cooked in hot pepper sauce, and crispy sea food pancake. The place can get busy during week ends, not only the restaurant cater to Koreans but diverse groups and races of people. Expect little wait during the peak hours. If you do not wish to travel an hour to korea town in Chicago for Korean food and you are in the northern suburb, this is one worth trying. Expect about 15 to 20$ per person for dinner.

This place was amazing! My first time eating Korean food and I was in heaven. You cannot go wrong with the Bulgogi cooked at the table or in a stew. The bibimbap in a the hot stone bowl was also fantastic. I don't know how I will ever eat another meal without 8 side dishes.

I eat here regularly for lunch. The food is authentic and pretty stinking delicious. I frequently get the Yookgaejang - a mildly spicy soup with vegetables and beef strips. It reminds me of my mom's cooking at home. I always recommend the dolsot bibimbap (stonebowl rice dish) or bulgogi (marinated beef) to newcomers. The staff is friendly and looking to refill water and side dishes (banchan). The price at lunch is reasonable - perhaps on the pricier side. Each dish ranges from $10-$15 during lunch. Go here if you need a taste of home or want to explore Korean cuisine. On a side note, I wish they would quit using disposable plastic cups for water. Seems a bit wasteful.

Warning!!! If you don't speak Korean, be aware that most of the food is icy cold. Even though the menu does NOT state it in English, MOST of the food is COLD. The waiter was so surly that we were afraid to ask about the menu. The owner was condescending and patronizing. The tea smelled and tasted burned and so did the hot food. Burned smelling and half raw. Yuck. Learn the Korean language or skip this place.

We tried the Dolsot bibimbap (really good and will def fill you up!) Bulgogi on the grill was really good as well and the noodles in broth were good just a little messy. Overall service was really good considering most korean places that can be a real challenge! I do wish they had more side dishes for the meat. The potatoes in the side dish were was under done but good spice. The fish cakes were really not good and stale. Maybe they don’t offer it a lot. Overall pretty good! Definitely not the vibe of a Chicago spot but still decent!

Went on a Sunday night around 6 and the place was empty and I think I know why. I spent $90. We ordered a $50 plate and it had less than 1/4 lb of meat. The side dishes are more like condiments. The rice was very mushy and the Shrimp chewy. I’m use to eating small portions but this place, for $90, is not filling at all and I would not recommend, we all left hungry.

Coming from New York and New Jersey and moving to the Northshore suburbs of Chicagoland, I found that the number of authentic and great restaurants in this area is lacking. So when I found this little gem in Mundelein, I was excited to say the least. The quality of the food is pretty good, the atmosphere in the restaurant is pretty authentic. The little side dishes/appetizers are pretty good and generous. I celebrated my birthday here one time with some family coming from Japan and Singapore and they liked it too. If that is not a good endorsement, I don't know what is. Overall, a great restaurant to visit/frequent.

Came here by chance on Thanksgiving since it was the only thing open. I feel lucky because it was probably the best food I could have gotten! We did not order the Diy kbbq and instead opted for the dinner plates. We got 5 plates for 4 very hungry people and had plenty to share and take home. Each of those plates could probably feed 2 people! The service was fantastic and the owner was very helpful and generous. The prices were fair given the portion sizes. I definitely recommend the seafood pancake - probably the best I've ever had!

This is as good as Korean food can get in Illinois. The food was great. No matter what I ordered, I always ended up being happy at the end. With the service being excellent, the staff were friendly. The side dishes with the meat (that is whenever I ordered meat) made the meal the greater than I would have imagined. Naengmyun is great too. It is also conveniently located just west of Butterfield Road. Update 11/23/2017 The food is even better than before. It was a great lunch to have. The service is awesome as usual.

I have eaten here probably 15 times now with friends, family, and coworkers. I have always been pleased with the food and the services. The pricing is fair when comparing to other Korean barbeque places. If you are getting traditional BBQ it will cost $35-50 for two (not including drinks and tip). The lunch menu however is the best value option(s) here in my opinion. You can get most of the dinner items for 50% less. A standard bibimbap will be $11 which comes with a generous amount of food. But, my favorite thing here is the bulgogi BBQ. It is unique from most Korean BBQ because it has the beef broth simmered around the meat with the glass (vermicelli) noodles, it's delicious.

This is the only table top Korean BBQ restaurant in the area. These are all the rage in the big cities. If you've never tried it before, give it a chance and be sure to order the traditional bulgogi which is basically marinated beef.

Cool little strip mall restaurant. If you didn't know it was there you could easily drive by it. You can order meals for two or more. You cook your meat at the table which can be fun. The sides that were served with the meal were very interesting although I did not know what each of them was. Due to the language barrier with our server I was never able to find out what I ate. Their bibimbap was really good and included all the traditional sides like kimchi etc. They have about four different options for the bibimbap but would highly recommend the traditional if it’s your first time.
