I had a really great meal here, it's well priced and a lot of food. I don't think it lived up to all the hype i had seen about it, but they were also super busy when we were there and appeared short-staffed. I'll be trying it again soon! The tacos are large though, so two is likely enough...definitely get the fries!

Definitely made popukar by Guy Fieri on DDD and the word Dive is accurate but the food is awesome ans staff is friendly ans helpful. I almost always order the poor crunch wrap usually with rice but they now offer it with lettuce.

Guy Fieri aka "The Mayor of Flavor Town" had this unique place on his show. The famous dish is the soft shell crab sandwich and naturally that is what I ordered. The soft shell crab has a nice thick layer of batter on it before it takes a dip in the deep fryer. Comes on a nice crispy bun with mayo and some sort of tartar sauce. Yes the deep fried crab sandwich was one of a kind and very delicious by the way. The menu also had many different fish options which I would like to try in the future. Parking was very easy and service was good. Check out the soft shell crab sandwich. Cheers! *no we didnt dress up for this, we had to kill time before wedding ceremony started....

Yumi!!!! I must say this is one of the best Places I've tried lately. The 3 of us went to get se early dinner and thought about something quick and different- so we all said: "burgers!" LOL So, my brother recommended us this low key, hidden Jem type of place. I'm not a sea food person but he insisted they have other great things on the menu... The guy at the counter was super nice and welcoming, we ordered everything quickly,3 burgers and 2 foie-gras fries. Ohh man the door gras fries, you can't ever skip those.!! The burgers were also good, just saying. I don't live in Chicago, my brother is, next time I'm in town were definitely coming back.

Great food, great atmosphere, great prices. Exceptional customer service. After enjoying a meal my 14yr daughter accidentally left her purse with her retainer. She brought her birthday money to buy "merch" from a concert we were going to. She was crushed. The next day the owner texted saying they found it and it's all safe and sound. Redemption! My experience was okay...the pork belly po' boy was pretty tasty but overall, nothing was extra spectacular. Tried the foie gras fries & my head didn't seperate from my shoulders like Guy Fieri made me think it would. It's okay...I went & I tried it so no regrets. Good service though.

And when you order your fries keep in mind it's in a share size. Also try thier sauce, it's the boss. See what I did there. But yeah, very good food for what it is.

Came here in a holiday using a Groupon deal ($20 for $12). Got 1/2 fish and chips, big and littles taco, fried shrimp taco, and pork belly po boy. The food was below expectations. The fish was flaky and soft on the inside but was completely lacking in crunch. The tacos were decent but a bit heavy handed on the lettuce. The pork belly po boy was filled with over fried pork belly in an average bread roll. The big and littles taco was the best dish of the 4 but would not come back for it. Even with the Groupon deal.

The food was quite flavorful and fresh. The veggie options are limited - but amazing! The fries were kinda meh for me - but people do seem to love them... The place is cash only, so be sure to stock up before you get there if you don't wanna use their atm.

It's a good alternative to traditional fast food restaurants. I wouldn't necessarily say it's extraordinary, the menu is quite big and working out the options isn't easy. There's no simple way to mix the options. Between fish tacos (made on soft flour tortillas --which were cold [not how they should be served]), pork belly sandwich (which is a good meal, but it's nothing EXTRAordinary) and the fries (regular fries, nothing surprising, although somewhat overcooked), the experience is one you could expect at a small diner at the inner city limits. I'd like to repeat just to try and find the real gems in the menu.

I didn't want to give a one-star rating but this review site wouldn't let me leave it blank or I would have given them negative stars if I could. This was the worst dining experience I have ever had and ever will have, bet. The guy who took my order was rude, and I had to wait well over an hour for my one-item order, that's right, one item. Over 15 people came in to order after me and all of them got their food before me but wait there's more. They all ordered multi-item meals. Terrible service and experience, and I will never go back there again. Extremely disappointed because I saw this restaurant on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, and I was so excited to go there and eat because I'm from out-of-state. If I was the owner and found out that my staff treated customers this way, I would be beyond disappointed: one of the staff members actually called the wrong name for an order (my name) and I asked how long my order had been sitting there and the man said "a minute" as in it had been sitting there forever or had just been made when it should have been made first. It was clear that employees who knew customers made sure their food was taken care of first regardless of when they came in to order. No refund or apology for my inconvenience.

I travel all over the country for work and try to stop at a Triple D spot in every city I'm in. I also try to have what Guy ate the time he was here. Chicago is one of my frequently traveled cities and there is never a shortage of places to eat. This diner had great pork belly and fish/chips. Adam was freindly and in formative on selections to try. I will be back and will try the lamb burrito and or the foie gras duck fries.

We stopped at this place because it was featured on my son's fave show" Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives." We wanted to see if we would enjoy the fish and chips as much as Guy. We were pleasantly surprised. The fish was huge, and it was the most delicious fried fish we have eaten. The egg hamburger was cooked perfectly, and the specialty tacos were very tasty. There are many different varieties. We had Hawaiian pork and Japanese short rib (spicy). It is a tiny diner atmosphere, but it was worth exploring! "Big" was very cool and personable and even posted for a pic with us! Bring your cash tho-cash only!!

The crab poboy was not as good as I thought it would be. The crab was tasty and fried quite nicely. However, the hoagie roll was no better than what you would find at a large food chain grocery deli. It comes with a piece of lettuce and some mayo/thousand island dressing. I ate the crab and tossed the bread. Why no tomatoes or even a side pickle? Curious as to why not. Will go back to try other things because everyone raves about them, just won't have this again.

Hands down the best restaurant I have ever been to. Not only was the food amazing and unique. Not only were the prices incredibly fair. The service was the best I have ever recieved. We were visiting from Toronto for a couple days for a seminar and only had $11 in American cash. Unfortunately they only accept cash. I asked the guy (who's name I unfortunately don't remember) what we could get for it and he was nice enough to cut us a break on the 3 taco deal. We were treated very well by the staff and had the best tacos I have ever had. Please go here and support this amazing restaurant.

Outstanding!! If u want white table cloth, keep walking. But if you want great service and even greater food then walk in. The variety of seafood and pulled meat tacos is great. Big & little's is probably one of the best restaurants in Near North. Great burgers, great fries, and fantastic service. Do yourself a favor and get some fish tacos

Oh child I love me some big and littles. the people that work there are so sweet and lovin and I really do think that the place is always so clean and neat anytime of the day. I been going there often because I work really close and I love it. The duck is so so good. But ya'll right they do need to cook those burgers thoroughly.

Big & little is quite the throwback feel of a place, only taking cash. Their menu however is quite interesting. There are lots of creative options they have crafted that draw the curiosity of foodies all over.
