This Restaurant is classified in the category of American restaurant.
Came for an early breakfast yesterday. Really good food, and great service. The sourdough toast, the maple bacon...crazy good. We enjoyed the pancakes and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Taking off one star for the Honey Burnt Toast, which we ordered twice and never came, and then was brought to the table right before we checked out. And, it was not burned (it was barely toasted) and it was soaked in honey....in other words, an underwhelming, not quite toasted, soggy sugary piece of bread. Had we paid the $5 for it I would have been upset, but it was removed from our bill for the hassle of actually getting it. Other than that, we'd likely come again when we're back in town!
Food was very good. Service was excellent. We had shakshouka, lemon pancakes and the chia cereal bowl. Shakshouka was okay - poached eggs, spicy tomato sauce and kale. The tomato sauce was good, but I didn't love it. Shrug The lemon pancakes were delicious. Really. The chia cereal bowl was also delicious, but richer than I had imagined. We got there maybe about 9:30 and they were not very busy.
I have to hand it to my wife for finding this wonderful trendy casual dining place in Chicago. The restaurant is noisy and busy in a good way. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and their company. This place offers some interesting blends of coffee and of course simply American cuisine. We had enjoyed the steak and salmon dishes. They were juicy and flavorful. Additionally they can accommodate strollers and offer high chairs. Thanks for the meal.
I absolutely love this place, cannot remember how many times I’ve been here but today was special. Joe, Elise and Christopher were excellent. Definitely stop in and enjoy everything they have to offer.
Food is vary good. I highly recommend the avocado eggs benedict.
Healthy food that tastes great. Try one of their freshly squeezed juices
♡For my birthday, my best friend, who is very picky and doesn't get out much, said, "This was the best meal I've had in years! " I agree -- yuuummy! I am so grateful! Jose offered exceptionally excellent service. I felt very welcomed and special. EACH COURSE was incredibly delicious! ♡ All around surprisingly great at the corner of Clark ... & truly Grand!!
Awesome flavors with wholesome foods! As a retired holistic physician, I would totally recommend this place. I had the chocolate/chili glazed wild salmon... delicious!
Good food and great service!
Wonderful lunch. I had the ravioli and others had the halibut. Wine list is a little light but adequate and the surrounding is contemporary and yet not too loud.
Great food, casual atmosphere, will definately be back.
Jackie B was an amazing server for me and my family. Her attention to detail was
Stopped in for lunch and we are so glad we did! To be on the safe side, go ahead and get a reservation. However, we didn’t have one and were seated within 15min at 12:30p on a Wednesday! I got the Chicken Kabobs with Brussel Sprouts and my husband got the Chicken Sandwich. The food was so great, the service was great and the portions were perfect. We loved everything. The restaurant has a modern earthy feel with a lot of healthier options on the lunch menu BUT alot of great looking dessert as well. We tried their brownie and it was DELICIOUS! Next time, I want to try the Nutella stuffed cookie
Great spot for brunch and pastries! We reserved a table beforehand, which I recommend because the line was long. The food was delicious, i couldn't decide so I ordered two plates: the lemon pancakes and a veggie omelet. Both great dishes. The toast and raspberry jam is to die for! Drinks are amazing as well. Can't wait to go again!!
Everything tasted delicious! We shared four snacks and a dessert between 3 of us and it was perfect. The waiter was so friendly and kind and he recommended us some dishes and drinks. :)
This is our first stop every year when we visit Chicago. The Kennebec Fries served with the Lemon Aioili are amazing!
Absolutely excellent - I never leave feeling "too full." Great portions, healthy ingredients, and you can tell it's all made with love. Wish they had Beatrix in NYC!
The coffee and pastries are good but the restaurant food is mediocre at best.
Great food & atmosphere. Had dinner with three children and they were very accommodating. The braised short rib was amazing. Would go again just for that. Didn't like the burrata but could just be my personal preference. Didn't order anything from the Cafe but it seemed worth checking out with baked goods and good coffee
The breakfast is very good here. The line is crazy but you may catch a spot at the bar. I loved avacado toast soo much ! I added a poached egg on it and it was delicious ! The drinks are very good here even though our choices were not the best. Also, definitely have the honey toast.
One of the best places for brunch. Everything almost everything is great. We had the avocado toast which had a nice kick with fresh halepjenos and chicken sandwich. Highly recommended but do make a reservation to avoid long waits
Great service! Great food! THE BEST grilled chicken I've had in my life!
Lots of fresh healthy options with a great space to sit outside.
A great place to grab coffee and cake.
Made reservations for breakfast for this place before arriving in Chicago in May. Other friends had breakfast on a different day. I looked at the baked goods while waiting for my coworker and his wife and everything looked great. When we were seated, I ordered the blueberry boost while my coworker's wife got the mango, orange and pineapple nectar. She had the pepper and egg white sandwich which was just the right amount of food. My coworker and I both had the eggs your way. I had the brown sugar bacon while he got the chicken sausage. Love the sweetness and crunch of my bacon! All the food was finished and we were all so full! Very satisfying meal! We were fueled up and ready for a day of walking. I discovered that this is one of many locations.
The food is great. The restaurant is on a corner, so on days when the weather is warm, the doors/windows are open with tables near the street. There's a gluten free menu - hallelujah! Service is excellent. The reason for only three stars is that both of us who ate there recently got glutened. Not sure what happened since we ordered off the GF menu. Perhaps there was a mix-up.
Best place for breakfast in 5 days as we visit Chicago
Absolutely loved the cauliflower grits - what a great innovative dish! I also tried the bulletproof coffee which was good but very filling.
If I could just sit in this restaurant all day I would. Beatrix has such a lovely environment, delicious food, gorgeous pastries and coffees. It was a treat to visit this restaurant.
Food was delicious and the presentation was also nice. I like the infrastructure of the restaurant. The place was very decent and the staff was also helping. The services were also quick. If i talk about the price was also decent. Overall nice place
This place is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The service for the most part is always good and the food is good and reliable. No matter what you order you can trust it to be good. Highly recommend the neatloaf and the salad with the cauliflower crumbles
We went there on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. We had made a reservation but there were last minute additions and the hostess was kind enough to help us get more seats. Our server (Jackie B) was wonderful. She was helping us choose the drinks, the appetizers and the main course too. The fries are good to share and also very tasty. The prime burger is really delicious. The burnt honey chicken is also good but not as good as the burgers. The portions are big enough for the prices. The place is cozy and comfortable enough to have conversations. I really enjoyed my time there and would definitely recommend it. Ask for Jackie, she will take care of you.
This place just has every category figured out. I especially enjoy their robust vegetarian selection and monster cookies. Their juice and coffee options are similarly playful. Is it the the best place in Chicago? No, but it certainly will never let you down. Plus, the price for what you get is a great deal for a downtown option. That said, I've never been for dinner so I cannot vouch for that. Just breakfast and lunch which is
Very fun restaurant! I ordered the ravioli and my friend ordered something else that I can’t remember. We had amazing service and I would definitely come back!
My favorite place for breakfast in Chicago! Everything is delicious and healthy! Great place for vegetarians. Amazing juices and cocktails! Reservation highly recommended, this place is always packed!
We enjoyed a wonderful, flavorful Mother's Day dinner tonight. Great service, outstanding, interesting, well-conceived plates made for a delightful meal. Don't miss the skirt steak with chimichuri or the fabulous short rib with a mild chili-citrus glaze. They have a wonderful gluten-free menu with many of the same dishes, too, and a careful kitchen.
A fav location for quality american food. it's so appetizing. the staff was very friendly and attentive. it has a great atmosphere.
Great place to meet for coffee and breakfast. The staff is awesome and welcoming. Next time I'm in Chicago I'm definitely stopping at Beatrix.
I visited for brunch. The bloody caesar was amazing, love the piece of bacon. For brunch I had the steak and eggs. It was very good. I will be back next time I visit Chicago.
Refreshing to have a place serving delicious healthier food
Packed for breakfast on a Thursday morning! Reservations recommended. We (party of 2) didn't have one but we managed to find space at the bar. Still, good service and my egg white breakfast sandwich was pretty special.
Good restaurant. The celery cooler juicer was yummy and fresh squeezed. The portions were beyond generous but it’s a pricey cafe. Our simple lunch came to over $40. The potato chips were delicious and the service was friendly. Ambiance was okay.
Loved the semi-alfresco dining experience at Beatrix. I enjoyed the pineapple-habanero margarita and the turkey meatloaf made with kale and sweet potatoes; good flavor and sizable portion. Service was average, but the company was fantastic!
Stopped in for a nightcap and dessert. OMG, the caramel pie is THE best dessert I ever had. A must have.
Such good breakfast, beautiful indoor a d outdoor seating. Excellent service and Bulletproof Coffee
Cannot recommend this place enough! We found it on our last morning in Chicago, but wished we could have gone every morning for their takeout treats and drinks. Will definitely be going back on our next trip to Chicago
Beatrix is great! Very decently priced for the food quality and service. Drinks will up your bill, but portions sizes are shareable (like 1 app, 1 entree for 2 people).
Pasta tasted too good with the more cheese stuffing they had put. Chicken based meet balls are way too delicious. Service was not okay though as the waiter rushed us through the experience.
american food and the feeling at this place is great. great spot for an appetite of any size. fast and courteous service. it has a cool interior.
Fine spot for American food. good place to catch up with friends. bring your hunger - portions are filling.
Nice food + reasonable price!!! I came for brunch in a weekend and this place was fully packed at 9:30am. I had the egg & pork sandwich, a side of sausage, and blueberry juice. The pork sandwich was tasty and huge, I feel like it can feed two people! The juice was refreshing as they blended with different berries. However, I did not enjoy the sausage because it didn't taste good and didn't look appealing to me. Lastly, the ambience was chill and relaxing. Definitely recommended!
Outstanding. Great bartenders. Full menu available the bar. Chicken meatballs delicious. Roated cauliflower salad very substantial and very tasty. Can't go wrong here.
Was able to customize my avocado Benedict with no problem, and it was delicious. Great fresh squeezed OJ. It was a little expensive for my taste, $40 for breakfast for 2, but we were having a great conversation at a very busy hr and they didn't rush us at 2 hrs.
One of the more impressive stops on our trip. Food was good but wait for table long especially when there were plenty of tables open just reserved by OpenTable. Hip crowd. Good soundtrack. I was practically sitting in my neighbors lap though. Menu not very memorable, wait staff easy on the eyes but not all that quick on their feet. Overall enjoyed it and would go back.
Great vegetarian and vegan options!
Perfectly fine for breakfast, but about half the menu is stuff that sounds like a good idea but is not executed at all. And I do not trust any place that does not put pickled something on a burger... and they pretty much confirm why.
Amazing breakfast, good fresh juices, amazing coffees. Can't recommend this place enough.
Delicious food. Filet pot roast was amazing. Service could have been quicker.
Stopped in with the little ones, and it was good food/atmosphere.
Healthish eatary with dessert counter, fresh juice cocktails and plenty of options. Burrata and beets very good. Ahi tuna very good. Fair price around 15 per plate.
Breakfast here was phenomenal! It was well worth the short wait, but probably worth booking a reservation on the weekends. I will be back soon
The food, the ambience, the staff!
I had the eggs Benedict and it was perfect! They use something different instead of regular toast or muffin as the base and it was perfect. Def recommend!
Cutest patio! Perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy the good weather for brunch or lunch. The crab Benedict was to die for. It's hard to find one where you can actually taste the crab without the Holland side drowning it out. Blueberry muffin was fresh and packed with blueberries. They also had samples of a sweet croissant at the counter which was great.
Definitely a must for breakfast... the food was delicious. And the cocktails and mimosas complimented the food. Staff was cleanly, attentive, and friendly. The vibe always was great. We sat at the bar top and everything from the service, food, drinks and lightening and music was great. Well done!
So many things I want to say about here and almost every single one is positive! The food is really well done and the menu is creative and inspired. Baked goods are some of the best in the city. The juices are a little bit expensive, but they do seem very high quality. Staff is always friendly and service very consistent. Reliable neighborhood staple.
Loved the coffee, food, atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommended for breakfast. We’ll be back!
Food and service excellent!
Seriously fantastic. I came here for Mothers day and loved everything. I even bought an extra entree to take home. Great place.
Wow! We were totally blown away by the flavorful food! Now I understand why there is a waiting line. I had Spicy Chicken Tinga. Heavenly good! Our wait person, Neil was super awesome.
Good food. Hot Chai I ordered was cold so no fun at all . Good ambiance
Great breakfast spot! There spicy chicken tinga was really good!
Great gluten-free menu, servers very attentive to dietary needs and helpful. Interesting mix of global influences, seasonal without being exhausting trendy. Good higher-end option for gf cuisine. And valet parking, a godsend for that area.
Downtown? Not sure where to go? Your wallet is begging you to step away from Magnificent Mile and Water Tower? Then come on out a little firther West and check out this great farm to table cusine. Juices are great. Opportunity with filling drinks all the way and plating presentation but, the food is outstanding and consistent at all the locations,
Delicious coffee/desserts. The lunch is great too, very fresh and dietary friendly. The beet appetizer is my favorite!!
The staff, as always, is super helpful, friendly and without any pretense whatsoever. The food, however, has dropped off in a big way. While our meal was by no means "bad", Beatrix had established itself as a destination restaurant. While we went on a Sunday, the old cliche that Sundays aren't for serious diners should not be applicable to ellie restaurants. Our meal was typical of what you might expect in a quality hotel. Not a slam but hardly high praise in a city as rich in eating establishments as Chicago.
One of my fav places for delicious American food. I was so stuffed. Nothing but great experiences here. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I loved.
One of my favorites in Chicago, no matter what time of day. Great menu, food and service.
Cool atmosphere, with good service. Food was good. I had savory and sweet, and they were both tasty.
THIS REVIEW FOR THE COOKIE BAR ONLY: we went in kind of late, but just to grab a sweet treat. There was a little passive-aggressive behavior by the hostess, but no big deal. The person working at the cookie bar was friendly and we were helped very quickly. The cookies were pretty awesome too.
A favorite location for delicious american food. It has an awesome feel to it. I can see why they have a lot of positive reviews.
Good service, although the waitress was just a little bit slow with drink refills. I highly recommend the "Warm Pot Roast Sandwich." It was magnificent!!! It has a wall of windows that slide back to open to the outdoors. We enjoyed the beautiful weather at lunch today.
One of a kind breakfast restaurant. Tasty and original recipes. Delicious!
Cool little place on Kenmore St. Food was good and delicious though nothing special. Especially for the price. Small quant location. Good place to visit if you're in that area. The price to pay for high rents.
The food was good, however my table was near the kitchen and there was a server with long stringy blonde hair that was loose. Everytime she spun around at the food line her hair was swiping the food. It thoroughly grossed me out before my food was served.
Delicious food. I had a great breakfast
The menu is very limited but the food is good, and the place is nice
Relaxed atmosphere, top-notch service and innovative food without being over-the-top
Restaurant Critique: This is a busy popular spot bouncing with good food and suburb customer service. While waiting a short time (15 min)for our table I tried the “magical cookie” form their fresh bakery section. DEEEEEEEEELICIOUS! Once I allowed a taste test to my friends, they picked up a few for themselves after we ate. The food was fantastic! They put healthy, yet tasteful spins on traditional meals. There were so many great choices to choose from. We had the steak chimichurri and eggs as well as the avocado benedict. There’s only word I can think of to describe the experience. SENSATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS SPOT IS ON OUR LIST TO RETURN!
Wonderful place for breakfast. Beautiful healthy and delicious choices. It was hard to pick just one thing to have. Was definitely drawn to the avocado benedict but ended up having the lovely lemon pancakes. They were souffle style. Light and fluffy and custardy inside. Added an order of poached eggs on the side and was definitely not disappointed. Service and atmosphere was perfect.
Hip, eclectic restaurant and cafe with a great brunch.
This was a really good place to have brunch. The menu is small and most of the dishes are a twist on the traditional, but in a good way. The pot roast and egg sandwich was a really interesting take on the standard breakfast sandwich options. Their coffee (the drip stuff) was really great. I didn't try any of the espresso drinks, but I imagine they are of similar quality. Unfortunately, the service wasn't super fast so I wasn't able to give 5 stars.
Good service, good food thank you.
Have loved this place for like 5 years. Kris...Chris? At the pastry and coffee bar is such a lovely lady. Amazing customer service. THE BEST pastries EVER. Breakfast lunch and dinner, all a win.
Fo breakfast is so good but mnay people are waiting
This place is a must go to brunch spot! Everything is always so fresh and delicious. The lemon pancakes and cauliflower are our go to meals.
Very cute place with a lot of good people and wonderful food. I was here for brunch and the service was very timely and the food was wonderful. I had the egg white omelette with spinach and turkey bacon and everything was cooked perfectly.
Really awesome breakfast joint. Very impressed by the customer service and the hustle of the serving staff. Had the pot roast and egg sandwich. Damn fine grub.
The food was so delicious. Friendly staff. Nice vipes.
Lovely place for brunch or dinner. The menu had great variety and the mixed drinks were top notch.
I just wanted to say I had the best ravioli of my life here. And it was vegetarian. My only complaint was that I didn't get twice as much.
Lovely atmosphere. Staff was kind and attentive. Good food and drinks with a simple menu.
Not too many veggie, halal options available. The ravioli was delicious, but I definitely would appreciate more variety.
The space was a little cramped, but once I got settled in, we had a great meal with great service to boot. Food came out quicker than drinks, but the drinks were worth the wait. Try one of their cocktails if you're looking for something refreshing.
Great friendly atmosphere, the food is amazing and the wait was not so bad. It’s totally worth trying. The menu has an innovative way of presenting the food options from light to heavy and the dishes themselves were amazing as well as the brunch cocktails. The service was also one of the best! The waitress was impeccable. Great place!
Beautiful restaurant, delicious looking pastries, great service. So happy to have found this place. Exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing experience!
A neo bistro kind of place with excellent food. The environment is nice and chic. The place has huge posters of older years iconic music stars. The chocolate glazed salmon was very good. The bakery choices are delectable as well. For a weekday night it can be just the spot for a nice dinner.
The salads are great! Good option for a work lunch with clients.
Great food and amazing cocktails! Try the charcoal lemonade if your looking for a good detox drink!

Enlightened Caesar with Salmon added yummm
A nice, light, and colorful breakfast
Brilliant breakfast spot. I would recommend it strongly. Vibey and exciting feel. Very diverse crowd. Excellent options on the menu and what we tasted was brilliantly executed. Their pricing is solid. Not very cheap, but really good price for what you get.
The food was meh, but my goodness: go here for this amazing caramel pie if for no other reason. I'd come back to try other main dishes just to give myself and excuse for another slice of this deliciousness.
First time visiting and I could’ve stayed the whole morning. Great atmosphere (loved the vibe at the coffee shop area!) But ate in the restaurant area for breakfast. Amazing food! Had the Avocado Benedict and a fresh squeezed mango pineapple juice! Both were incredibly tasty. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful with info about shopping in the area. I definitely will be back to eat again and to chill at the cafe!
Very good food. Pretty good acoustics. It was chilly and the windows were wide open. I'd definitely go again. Great for groups.
Good stuff. Nice break from all the meat and sugary stuff I've been filling up on in Chicago! The quinoa and avocado tacos were spectacular.
Stopping in The Aloft on North Clark Street makes it too tempting to use this place for breakfast every morning. That's what we've done so far! Wonderfully designed environment, with internal and external seating that merges and blends. Varied menu without being overwhelming. My coffee of choice is a Honey Cinnamon latte (from someone who detests latte it must be good). Brunch, lunch and dinner are also offered. The place never seems not busy so I'd recommend booking if you aren't here first thing. Very family friendly, lots of babies and small children seemingly catered for without much fuss. Great service from the very friendly staff too. Well worth trying in my opinion.
I visited this location with a friend during Happy Hour. While we were seated quickly at the bar, the service left much to be desired. I assume that the employee at the bar was simply having a bad day.
Superb brunch! Start with champagne and a Bloody Mary. Had the quinoa cakes, chia pudding, and braised pot roast sandwich. All really delicious.
Stylish place with healthy food and great flavours.. waiting time is a bit long but worth it
Delicious lemon pancakes! Coffee was bitter even diluted with water that was warm not hot when requested...
Ordered the iced banana joe coffee and it's mostly ice. I had two big sips and it was gone. The tuna seven chili ceviche was actually bland and small. The beet salad was okay, small. The chili chocolate glaze Salmon usually comes with tortillas. I'm not sure why this comes with tortillas. I substituted the tortillas with a salad. The size of the salmon I got looked a lot smaller than I saw in uploaded pics online. The salmon dish was okay but for $27 the portion size was a joke. Didn't get any bakery items as I saw numerous fruit flies on the items. I had a $70 bill and I was still hungry. Went over to Doc B's to eat right after this and had a wonderful kale salad with tofu and a lime agave dressing for a reasonable price.
Great food and atmosphere, but the portions were a bit on the smaller side. I could've easily eaten two orders of the skirt steak.
Solid food. Decent brunch spot.
Was given a recommendation to go here for brunch and it did not disappoint. The fruit drinks were delicious and the food was perfect for brunch. Glad we were able to make it.
Classic breakfast place with good service during peak hour. The food is delicious and trendy but on the pricier side. Worth the stop if you're looking for great Instagram pictures.
Came here for lunch had the burger and there kebab. Food and the mood was excellent. This restaurant also as a great patio.
