REVIEWS OF Barrio IN Illinois

Michelle Rock

The octopus tacos are really good and have the perfect amount of heat to them. I had a taste of the nachos and green rice. Green rice was bland but the nachos were really good. I also thought the staff was awesome and the atmosphere was livsly and enjoyable.

Anne Hammer

So good. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Had the lobster quesadilla, breakfast tacos, and the guac flight. Along with a few cucumber jalapeno margaritas. Everything was delicious and everything else we saw being brought out looked great as well. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Chicago!

Jan Ertl

Man....aweful!!!! National tequila day...probably ploy used everyday. The service was awful and I think the food trucked in from Canada. The food was dragged through the great salt lake...yet the servers where very friendly!!!! Probably realizing the excessive time for food preparation , allthough there were many many servers...maybe they should have jumped into th he kitchen to help. Too loud!!!!! So, not a favorable rating...take your chance if you like. There are better Mexican restaurants.

Askari Sabbaghi

My wife and I tried Barrio for my birthday. The food is mediocre here. I ordered enchiladas and it was super Salty. This restaurant is too pricey for what food quality you receive. I was served my $13 cocktail in a foam cup which I found quite interesting. I will not go back to this place.

kevin evans234

Service was impressive, food had enormous portions

temmy ojulari

Really good food. Good atmosphere. Good for dates but on the pricier side. I guess depends what you call pricey. Most cocktails $14/15 . Entree around 20 and up for smallish portions. Went Sunday brunch, not too packed but lively. Overall good service, clean and food tasted good.

Chris B

Went for a work lunch. Was very happy to see Hard Shell Chorizo tacos on the menu. I do wish that you could get more than two tacos, but overall nice stop for lunch.

Paul Meegan

Great find for me .. Will return again

Easily some of the best tacos I've ever had in Chicago! My friend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. It was barely busy at all, but the atmosphere was still amazing, if that makes sense. Absolutely stunning interior - someone had a damn clue with this place! Our waitress was prompt and kind - I don't have a single complaint. We ordered the traditional guacamole, which was very fresh (homemade chips!) and a good size for two hungry people. You'd probably want to order two for a party of four or more if you really love guac. We shared the steak tacos (it was so hard to choose, literally every taco looked amazing and I must try all of them) and they were perfection. Visually so stunning, with so many ingredients present in the most perfect portions. I was honestly sad when I was done. Tacos are maybe a taddddd on the smaller side...If you were a big guy or extremely hungry you'd probably be craving a fourth one. Barrio is also pretty pricey....if you went there on a date and got two drinks, an app, and two entrees, it would most likely be at least $60. It'd be near impossible to get under there for less. Overall I cannot recommend this place enough, and I'm so excited to go back!

Delicious authentic Mexican tapas with nice outdoor patio. It was a home-run meal with cocktails, guac, and hand-made tacos! Ring around the Rose Cocktail (5/5) - A bubbly fruity dessert cocktail with mango, peach, apricot topped with Cava and strawberry popsicle! Lots of great flavors blended well together. Can't decide between a cocktail and a dessert? Get the best of both worlds with this cocktail. Guacamole & Chips (5/5) - The crunchy homemade chips with fresh guac was the perfect way to start off our meal! Forest Mushroom Tacos (4/5) - The hand-pressed blue corn tortillas loaded with mushrooms and cojita cheese topped with garlic crema hit the spot! The petite bite-size tacos go down quick, definitely get something more to nibble on like the guac! To top it off, the service was great! Our waitress gave us great recommendations of apps to download and local hot spots in Wicker Park. One of our favorite and most memorable restaurants on our weeklong trip from DC. Will definitely come back next time we're in Chicago!

Andy

Delicious food and courteous, professional staff. I was there with a large group and everyone had drinks promptly and empty plates didn’t sit around.

Benjamin R.

This place is excellent. They have fantastic food and fantastic drinks. The only reason why I'm only giving it 4/5 stars is because it's definitely expensive compared to what you're used to paying for 'tacos'. So I'd recommend branching out and finding something unique on the menu you haven't had before!

Florence Davidson

My fav for breakfast: green chilaquiles w/ Al Pastor, pair it up w/ a watermelon agua fresca. Warning: The CHAIRS!!!! Worst than nails on chalkboard!

Kelsey Miracle

Barrio is a great place for happy hour and lunch. John is the best bartender. If you’re there, he will make you the best mango margarita ever. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Chris Benning

It's pricey, but it is very good. We had the pineapple & hibiscus guacamole and ahi tune ceviche to start. Both were excellent. But the ahi tune ceviche was about 1.5 cups of food (for 6 people) and was $15, so I was in sticker shock on that one. The tortilla chips were very good, crispy and greasy, just the way I like them. My main course was the steak fajitas, again a little pricey, but they were pretty amazing. I really enjoyed the sauces it came with on top of the teak,. The veggies that came with it were well cooked and had a great "grilled veggie" taste to them. It also came with a large pepper that was too hot my taste buds, but I'm sure some people would enjoy it. The ambiance is typical river north ambiance, and they staff were very nice. I gave ti 5 stars, simply because of the food being so delicious. But, if you are looking for cheaper good Mexican food, this is not the place for you.

Mary Datcher

This place was a pleasant surprise to me because it had gone through a couple of restaurant owner changes. When we discovered it had specialized in Mexican food, we were sold. Located in the heart of Chicago's downtown tourism district, the environment was surprisingly energetic and friendly. It features a good happy hour menu and the tacos was FIYAH!

Christopher Roza

Excellent staff and selection of food and drinks. Cocktails were amazing.

Milos Petrovic

Average mexican food, for these prices you can easily go to steak house. Enchiladas were terrible, only cheese and chicken tasteless!!! Tacos skirt steak was ok, but for these prices are not worth it. Gvacamole was good. If you like mexican food, go somewhere else and save money and time.

Taylor Bisig

Barrio was fantastic. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She was always there to offer assistance and guide you to the right decision. The food came out right on time and it was prepared to perfection! It tasted delicious and very easy to share. (But trust me, you won’t want to!) I highly recommend!

Lisa Barnes

Enjoyed drinks and dinner. Had the carnitas nachos which is enough to serve 4 people. A bit loud if you want to talk. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Chris Hamilton

Great food, but not cheap. Seating is cozy and be prepared to wait. A fun place to try new things.

Mary Lee

Love this place. The food is excellent & so is the service.

Madeline R

Good food and TVs at the booth seating if you like that!

CJ Gregory

Fantastic food and amazing staff. Get a booth in the bar for people watching!

Megan Adamski

Great food and cool atmosphere inside. I recommend the guacamole flight. So good! Everything I have had here is delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Martinez Franklin

I Enjoyed my visit the food and drinks where good as well

Arianna Howell

Mexican food and the setting here is excellent. The staff was very sociable and kind.

Atur Gyourgis

We had and unfortunate weather situation that didn’t allow us to come to Barrio a few weeks back. We made it back today thanks to Mr. Fernandez being so accommodating and inviting. The food was amazing. The steak tacos are a must try, as well as the corn. Everything was impeccable including the atmosphere and music. Our friends and family will definitely be hearing about Barrio, and we will be back soon as well. Thank you Pepe, and the awesome Barrio staff! -Atur & Peter

Valerie Jardon

Good food. Fun design and outdoor dining for nice days. The margarita list is pretty great too!

Abdallah Elayan

Mexican food made from scratch - very tasty! Went to Barrio during a warm Chicago day and was seated outside. Ordered the Skirt Steak Fajitas and a side of the chips and weekly salsa. Chips and Salsa came out at the same time as the entree did, which was a little different than what I'm used to. The chips were housemade and the salsa had bits of beans in it, almost like a chili. Very good. The Skirt Steak Fajitas came with 4 blue corn tortillas which made for delicious tacos along side. The steak was perfectly cooked to my medium liking, the sauces on top were great as well as the peppers on the dish. Next time I come, I'll definitely try the taco salad, as seeing a waiter deliver it to another guest was pretty appealing! Left comfortably full after eating. Looking forward to visiting Bodega next door for some dessert!

Liz Flynn

this is a decent addition to the recent run on taco restaurants in River North. it's a bit more upscale than many of its competitors, with great service in a nice setting. I was excited for the octopus tacos, but found them underwhelming. the smoked beans were delicious and given their nice, smoky flavor, I'd try a smoked meat taco variety on my next visit.

N Lopez

Everything we have had here is great whether it's brunch or dinner!

Gijs Mulders

My drink's on fire! Semi-fancy mexican restaurant with a nice cocktail selection and good vibe. The food is great but the portions are small and it's a bit pricey.

Jonathan K

Busy location so make reservations! Great service, food, and drinks (less ice next time though). Not your typical Mexican restaurant. A highlight for me was definitely the passion fruit cheesecake. Try something unique like the guacamole trio, octopus tacos (diced and cooked well), or the pork shoulder.

Brooks Fleming

Best mushroom tacos in the city. Great drinks to go along with great ambiance

Khanh Ngo

Really delicious Mexican fusion food at a great location. The servers were extremely attentive and helpful. The drink was really good (I had their Old Fashion with a tequila base--quite an interesting and positive twist). The food came out at a reasonable time--highly recommend for anyone craving for a more upscale Mexican restaurant (I especially like their "Prawn" dish under the menu section "Robata Mexicana"). Will come back!

Brook Hess

Delicious and cool vibe. Great for a date or night out with friends. If your into spicy (NOT sweet) drinks try the Spicy Cucumber Margarita without the agave. So GOOD!!!

Jeremy Green

My girlfriend and I attended this place for restaurant week and it was very much worth it! It's not cheap but you do get a very good bang for your buck. Also spoke with chef who is pleasant I had the eggs Benedict and she had the churro french toast. Both of which are delicious and excellent choices for brunch

Jenn Vielman

Excellent place for Brunch and not to mentioned Great Bloddy Maria's yes Bloddy Maria's will be going back.

Travis Finch

Good food, great drinks, will come again.

Audrey Alicia

Oh my God I love love love this place the Ambiance was the bomb!!! It was for my birthday.... not only did the waiter surprise us with his wonderful energy and his ability to know the menu back and forth from the top of his head, but the ambiance.. there's so much I can say about the environment!! It's festive, it's cute , it's sexy, all of the above definitely definitely would recommend!!!

Kelsey Knapp

We went to Barrio specifically for the dog friendly menu. The drinks were tasty, but for a dog friendly restaurant, our pup was completely overlooked. It was a humid day and we were seated outside. Usually dog friendly restaurants will immediately offer a bowl of water, but not here. We asked our waitress three separate times for a dog bowl, but even with the reminders water was never provided. I ended up hand feeding him water and ice cubes. We order steak off the dog menu; it took 40 minutes and two reminders until we finally received his food. I would not recommend going to this restaurant with your pup. Try any other dog friendly restaurant in River North, there are plenty to choose from!

Hunter Jones

Best food I've ever had. Exceptional service, Rosemary brought the best recommendations. Can't wait to come back.

Sarah Ixcaragua

Wonderful service, food, drinks, atmosphere - have only been here once and can't wait to return! It was a Friday night, we didn't have reservations, they were extremely friendly and accommodating and we were able to sit outside. Olivia was our phenomenal server - very friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. I also truly appreciated how attentive the bussers were as well. Since we were seated outside and it was chilly, the patio heater near us wasn't working. Andres replaced it with a working patio heater and it made a world of difference. Can't wait to come back and try more amazing things on the menu!

Desh Deepak Khanna

Lovely food and service. A must visit while in Chicago

Yatin J. Patel MD MBA

Expensive but worth it. Jalapeno Cucumber Margarita is my favorite. Don't forget to reserve your table early. Parking is scarce and pain. Take Lyft or walk.

Jen Witkowsky

Had lunch here with a colleague. Great food and friendly service. A bit loud but would still recommend.

Issam K

Update: I went a second time to Barrio and I was impressed how the staff was proactive and refilling the drinks any time they saw the glass almost empty. The food is always on point and as I mentioned in my old post, there is no regret for the food. I highly recommend this restaurant because it has good atmosphere but most importantly the food and drinks are on point. Old Post: The food is delicious but a bottomless drink isn’t worth it because waiter/waitress takes forever to fill up your glass.

tina tomasello

Great on a friday night. They had a DJ spinning some amazing tunes! Tacos are always spot on and drinks are good. Service has always been spot on.

Israel Fernandez III

Service was great, food really good too. Venue is pretty hip and purdy...not your local corner taqueria but delightful nonetheless

Ava Regan

My girlfriends and I came here for chicago restaurant week and for brunch. It was soooo gooood. I can’t wait to come again! I would love to come try their margaritas. However, it is a fun spot to go for brunch with a group of friends! The coffee is strong and the salsa is delicious!

Brian Barwig

Good ambiance and fairly spacious area. All of the food was on point, especially the tacos. Drinks were good as well. A bit pricey but to be expected for the area it is in.

tamara balazsovits

Awful. It was so bad, horrible service and bad vibes. I came here today on Sunday May 5th, there were lots of empty tables and I was early for the reservation. I was speaking to one of the hosts and another short female host interfered to tell us she wouldn't sit us. She legit butted in to our conversation to tell me she wouldn't sit us. I have worked in hospitality before and to put it simply she didn't want to do her job and had a bit of a power trip from telling us no. At the end, I asked her what her name was so I could complain to the manager, she refused and got really angry & emotional. This was honestly one of my worst experiences ever and I will never be back. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Stephanie Fay

I like Barrio. The food is good a little expensive but I like Barrio. Don’t get the bottomless mimosas because the server often lacks on filling up your glass and by the time you’re done with your food you’ve only had two glasses.

Jeremy Boogaart

Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable.

Vanessa Heshiki

Bad service. We ordered a starter and the waitress forgot to order it. They did not have the beer that my boyfriend ordered, and the waitress just brought another one without asking first.

Cameron

UPDATE: it's not often a resturant makes its mistakes right, but Barrio did. After my partners review the General Manager reached out and offered to make the experience right by inviting us back for dinner on him. So we did and it was amazing. Staff were amazing, took great care of us, and like before ever single dish was perfectly executed and delicious. Yes, of course they were on their best behavior but hey, how many restaurants do you know reach out let alone make an effort to correct a bad dining experience? Exactly. So kudos to Pepe and the entire team at Barrio. You're now a must eat at whenever we're in Chicago for work or holiday.

Stephanie Pintas

Nice ambience if you can sit outside in the summer and people watch. Food is really good too - the make-your own chicken al pastor tacos with crispy kale is great. One star removed because the prices are high for the quantity of food you get. Salads could definitely be larger. Service is good though and it’s in a nice location.

Josh Meister

We ordered about half the menu and everything was good, but didn’t blow us away. Guac trio and lobster quesadilla were the highlight of the meal. Wouldn’t recommend the enchiladas. Server was great. Restaurant was surprisingly empty. Would go again, but not at the top of my Mexican food list.

Nancy Shah

Great restaurant and delicious food but not for those seeking a healthy meal. Mostly deep fried options available.

Sonny de Rama

The steak tacos are delicious and the guacamole is even better. Always a great environment with excellent service.

Jules Porter

Food was good but service very slow and sporadic. They kept trying to deliver other people's food to usvand lost ours. Over priced too. will not go back

Jim Olsen

Decent take on traditional Mexican food with a modern twist

Ryan Collier

Food was excellent. Restaurant was slammed so the service was a bit taxed, but would definitely go back.

Sei Unno

Decent tacos. Pretty expensive. The octopus tacos are the best.

Ryan Goodmanson

I don't like to give out 5 stars, but when I do it's earned. I had an excellent time at this place. Walking in you immediately notice the atmosphere, which I can only explain as modern Spanish conquistador. From the golden ceiling and fixtures to the hostess stand that resembles a treasure chest I was a fan immediately. Their seating was very comfortable, the outdoor seating was not available to us at the time, but it would have been great. Service was good. Food was great, somewhat pricey for two tacos, and for the same price you can get a huge taco salad (picture) which was also fantastic. We got a pitcher of margaritas which were heavy handed, just the way I like them, and for a party of 4 I would highly suggest it. The waitress suggested the guacamole flight which is also a must. Who knew pineapple guac was so good. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, good service.

Rui Zhong

Came for restaurant week. Food was good but not special. Portions were small

Robert Ruffolo

Creative menus and pairings. Try the chips and variety of guacamole dips. Great and highly responsive service!

Doug Smith

Amazing food and wine. Try the octopus, you won't regret it!

i House

Smoke wings, Tuna ceviche and Salmon was the best. Goose Island on tap- old grumpy man was also good. No coloring books for the kids but this place is for adults. I didn’t realize there was a club in back, but didn’t see how to get inside. Service was good and atmosphere was giving this place life.

Estefania Escobar

Good food, but the customer service could have been better I wasnt so please with my first visit.

Aaron Parker

We had a company happy hour here in a private room. Very nice all around! Great drinks and the food was amazing. Very nice staff made frequent rounds making sure everyone was happy and taken care of! Excellent!! I'd love to come back and try the main restaurant sometime!

Raul Bermudez

This place was great! It was my fiancé and I first time going here last night and let me tell you the food was delicious. Our waitress Ariana was very nice and helpful when it came down to us asking questions! Oh can’t forget the drinks the were very well made. Definitely going back!

Alex Starnes

Great place for relaxing outside for drinks and good tacos. I’d recommend the steaks tacos! The rest of the menu seemed a bit pricey but all around would recommend.

Aliké Simons

I'm changing this to a 4.5 rating. Did not expect to return to Barrio... but after contact with the GM, Pepe, we were invited back. So, last Friday, my husband, baby & I had dinner at Barrio. We were there for a 6pm reservation and we were sat immediately. They were relatively busy but not swamped. By the time we left (around 8:30pm) it was pretty packed. Again, service was on point. Our server, Rita, was truly well-versed; friendly, professional, knowledgeable & just had that server touch. - I don't know what I mean by that, but she was better than average - She brought a plate of lemon AND lime wedges without us asking. She saw us pondering over the appetizers & immediately gave us her suggestions (which we ended up taking on our entire dining experience). Our order looked like this: Guacamole + chips = SLAMMING Chicken fajitas = YUM Enchiladas with chicken = I didn't try, but husband enjoyed Corn esquites side = Delicious Churros = Indulgent White chocolate cheesecake = Enjoyable A few FYI's; They offer a few selections of uniquely "flavored" guacamole. The options rotate & change with the seasons. If you go during summer months, Highly recommend the guacamole with pineapple! There technically isn't a chicken enchilada, just add chicken to the cheese enchilada. It was served with an avocado side salad. Most restaurants are super selfish with their avocado servings, but I noticed there was ample avocado. As in, more than just two or three bites. As an avocado devotee, I appreciate that! Their fajitas come with blue corn tortillas. Pretty unique to do. Ample chicken, pepper & onion filling. Also a tasty steak sauce and crema sauce in addition to the typical salsa & cheese. The corn elote side is enough to share between two or three people. Side note - the bathroom had a disco ball which was unexpected. More importantly, they were clean & the sink was unique. Also, the ambiance, especially the banquet-booth table area, was much nicer than I recall. On our first visit, the area we were in seemed so dark. Looks like we hit a dining homerun on this trip to Barrio. When a place has great service, delicious, flavorful food, and is clean, it's a must try kinda place.

Michael Fugate

Our bartender Jose was fantastic. The omelette was very well cooked, the bacon was thick cut too. A great selection of cocktails and beer as well. Without question a good experience. My friend bad the monster quesadilla which was uniquely made with a fried cheese shell instead of a wrap. Unique and savory.

N A

Tasty food. Good portions. Ordered the tacos of course. And a cocktail. Perfect ending to my stay in Chicago before I headed home. The restaurant interior is more classy than the outside implies. It looks like a sports bar from the outside. There are a lot of TVs inside. Not my jam. Oh well. Food makes up for it. Would go here again.

laura bastidas espitia

Food in here is really good! We went for brunch, the waitress was really nice, the decoration is really elegant and beautiful. Everything was delicious, I recommend the burrito and the melted cheese for appetizers.

Steve Cieslewicz

Good good and service. The agave based drinks we had tended to the sweeter side ( prefer more tartness). Good queso fundido and pork belly tacos. Both had interesting complex flavors. Make their own ice cream which is very good. We sat outside. Overall very enjoyable evening and we will be back.

Natallia Basava

Great food and service. Had a great time.

Azriel Alaimo

Just went and we got the chorizo tacos as well as the steak tacos. Delicious!!! We also tried their 'Classico' margarita. The sour flavors and spiciness was more than enough for an amazing night!

Chrissy Hough

This place is like a night club with good food. The DJ was killin it with songs that were all over the place. It was loud and full of energy. The food was tasty and the drinks were cold. The tacos were classy with a spicy twist. Get the salsa and chips. Try the black beans, they are to die for.

Nathan Wolf

This is the best Mexican brunch I have ever had! the sauces were delicious, the portions were good, the service was good. We brought our dog and were able to order her a treat off the dog menu. Our dinner order took a little longer than expected, but not long enough that I would have complained. Without even mentioning it or asking where our dinner was, we were offered a free dessert or round of drinks. All 4 entrees we ordered were delicious, and free churro bite dessert we chose was really good. My wife wants to learn how to make the churro sauces, the vanilla bean sauce was amazing. We will definitely have to come back and try more of their delicious dishes.

Samuel Waggoner

My friend and I ate a late lunch here and very much enjoyed ourselves. First of all it was really nice they were happy to serve us at 2pm, thats definitely a later lunch. We took our time had the traditional gauc and I had a modified salad. That being said they don't have a ton of veggie or vegan options but I just asked them to take the goat cheese off a salad and it was really delicious. We never felt rushed, even though the restaurant was empty. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and would go back again!

Jonathan C

Food is good, decent sized portions. AC by bar is freezing cold, sometimes hostess is slow to seat. Nachos are outstanding though.

William Cook

Great service. Food a little spicy, but good.

Kevin Hamlin

Wonderful spot downtown river north with a great selection of beer and the food is top notch

Megan Frazier

My fav spot for tasty Mexican food. Entered near nine, it wasn't busy. Next time I'll be back with my relatives. The place has a good feel to it.

Shawn Pacheco

Food was ok. Bar staff was friendly just never got more then one drink and our apps came out the same time as our food. Don't think I would go back. To many good places in Chicago.

DJ Bodziony

Good, modern, non-traditional Mexican restaurant. Make sure you make a reservation, especially for dinner on weekends, otherwise you may not get a seat. Menu is limited, but has a good variety. Would return.

Rutvij Shah

Best Grilled Cheese EVER!!!

Danielle Phan

Greater beautiful, sleek establishment for a nice drink or quick bite. Staffs are attentive in service and can carry conversations to keep you entertained at the bar. Tvs at the bar to watch the games. Love the art pieces and style of the space. Washroom is shares with the night club . Great space for a date night. Live DJ spinning great mixes.

Amy Ward

Perfect for a work lunch or night with friends. Cool setting and excellent tacos. Surprisingly the forest mushroom was the best one I tried. I thought the sides were only okay, but the cornbread appetizer was excellent! Didn’t have a drink, but would come back. Fit the bill for upscale Mexican.

Nick Watt

Our waiter may have been drunk or at least hungover. Couldn't really tell but they seemed out of it. The brunch menu was pretty limited, but we were a big group so it was a last minute find. Can't complain that they seated us on time. The guac was good but super pricey. It was okay, don't feel the need to rush back.

Jeff Epple

Great food. Terrible service

DC Galles

Pleasantly surprised with how good the fish tacos were!

L K

I've dined here numerous times and always enjoy the food and cocktails. There hasn't been a dish that I have not enjoyed. Grilled octopus tacos, guacs, grilled fish tacos, brick chicken, ceviche, etc....have all been tasty. I've tried aoat the entire menu with no complaints. Service has also been excellent. The atmosphere is more like a clubstaraunt, so just be sure you're in the mood for loud, upbeat music when you go.

Rob Williams

Great food and JT and Ricky are great mixologist will revisit soon

Monica Netkow

Amazing food. Everything was delicious. The Margaritas are the best .Can't wait to go back .

Beatrice Gallego

Fantastic tacos! One of the best I’ve had in North America. We went as a recommendation from a friend and got there during their Happy Hour (Mon-Fri 3-6pm), with a special menu for it. What we ordered: The Classico Margarita - good! Guacamole flight - all versions of guacamole were delicious and chips were great! No broken or end-of-the-bag pieces. Sweet corn croquettes - surprisingly fun and fresh! It’s like having a different version of the Mexican Elote corn on the cob... yummy! Tacos: - chicken al pastor - delicious! - forest mushroom - delicious! - grilled octopus - fantastic! We were pleasantly surprised to find this as it is not a common taco meat to find. Overall a restaurant with great food and service! Will definitely go back to try more.

R R

Good service, mediocre food, and disappointing weak cocktails. Beef Short rib was done right but was unbelievably salty. Not going back!

Debora Monteiro

Very good brunch.

Sulaiman Project

Amazing food and staff that is on its game

Aaron Christensen

We were here for the after hours club and now i can't wait to go back! A mix of DJ with a live drummer was an awesome combination!

Amie Samuel

We went with a group of 6 and while we didnt know we needed a reservation to get a table, they were able to accommodate us at the bar. It was a great experience. The bartender was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the environment was perfect. Everything was a 5 star experience.

Jonathan Carter

The food is always good. Great flavors, well prepared, and served hot from the kitchen. The atmosphere is also very energetic, although a little loud and hard to talk over. We had a great evening, ordered a lot of food for the table to share, but it wasn’t brought out a few dishes at a time to dine. We got everything at once and the table was over crowded with plates. It doesn’t seem like they want people to dine as they are pushing to turn tables quickly.

Rocky Lehman

The staff here was very accommodating to our surprise birthday party. They allowed us to do some decorating and to bring in our own cakes. The staff was very friendly and we truly enjoyed spending our time here. The food was very good and the bottomless mimosas were truly bottomless. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back!

Susanna Crouch

Trendy/hip lively place with flavorful spins on Mexican food. Superb cocktail margarita options

Kayi Lawson

I ordered an Chorizo Omelette (pictured). It was very tasty. Our server was fun and friendly. And the bottomless Mimosa drinks were great also!

shakti lenka

Very good food and amazing drinks with excellent service.

Max Spayde

Excellent. We had carnitas nachos and a queso dip. Both were flavorful, filling, unique, fun, unexpected. Drinks were great. We went with a frozen drink and a paloma. Again, excellent. Attentive service without being overbearing. Price was steep, but typical for the neighborhood. Would recommend highly.

James Kopf

Excellent twist on great Mexican food while still being authentic. Very friendly staff, very vibrant atmosphere

Manny Hernandez

Absolutely loved this spot. Not far from our Chicago office (on 444 N Michigan), the place doesn't take itself too seriously, but takes guest attention and food quality seriously. Plus the decor was super-fun. Will be back!

bob finkelstein

Food is decent a little pricey but good location and ambience/vibe

Eric Gaspar

Very great service, especially Ricardo behind the bar always makes great drinks

Hayley Myers

My girlfriend brought me to this lovely spot. I loved it from gluten free tacos to a spiked cappuccino. Needed a girl's night out and this was the perfect spot. I'll definitely go back.

Michelle Choi

Love this place! We went here for lunch on a weekday. Beautiful restaurant, great ambiance. I had the blackened mahi mahi sandwich. Would highly recommend!

Michael Alfaro

Very solid place and very expensive. But anything in Chicago is expensive so don’t be scared about the prices. The mushroom tacos are amazing and the pineapple guac is actually very good. If anything this is a great place for cocktails if you are looking to grab some good drinks.

Leah Lehman

Everything was delicious. The chicken and skirt steak tacos were amazing! I'll definitely be back

Stephanie Gwee

Their taco is supergood! I should say maybe the best taco I had so far. I ordered Forest Mushroom Taco (the vegetarian one) with corn tortilla (purple color). I loveee the taste and smell of white truffle, it's the best and enrich the dish. When you come for lunch, you will get 2 tacos accompany with green rice (which also really good). In dinner time, they will serve 3 tacos with no rice. If you like spicy dish, they put this spicy sauce in the table which I mentioned as "current spicy warning sign". Happy tacoing!

Sohail Khan

Excellent food and great staff

Christina Lara

Food was good , margarita was good and the guac was good. However, I do not think it was $50 good for those three things.

Came here on Easter for brunch. Loved the Chicken and churros (pictured) and Barbacoa short rib hash. Our server was excellent and friendly as well, Zach if I’m remembering correctly. Thanks!

We stopped to eat here Saturday as a group of 5. 4 adults and a 1 year old that is very well behaved. We were told only seating available was outside when half the place was empty. We then waited forever to get a high chair and when they did bring it the thing was covered in food. The person who brought it said he was grabbing a rag. Still waiting on a server we were told we had to be moved because our baby was in the way, "and they'd hate for a server to drop a plate on her." We waited....and waited and were then guided to the opposite side of the porch to a 4 person table and no high chair. There was no where to put it and the girl had no idea why we were at her table. Simply put, we ordered chips and salsa and went to XOCO. This place seemed to have great food so we were sad, but there unprofessional approach towards us having a child was embarrassing. Will never go there again!

So good! Wait staff is friendly and effective. Thank you Masha! The skirt steak tacos were great, and the churro were even better. Fantastic atmosphere, food, and drinks and close to the theater.

Unique and flavorful meal! The place was busy and lively on a Friday night. The staff was great, quick to get us our drinks, appetizers and then meal. We tried the salsa trio and loved them all. The white habanero was creamy and the perfect amount of spice! Definitely not for those who prefer mild salsas. We got the skirt steak tacos and the mahi mahi tacos. Both were delicious! A perfect mix of flavors and complimentary accents to the protein. The esquites style corn was a perfect side dish. Just like street corn on the cob, but in an easier to eat casserole style. Soooo good! They also cater well to gluten free customers. The menu is clearly marked and the staff was knowledgeable.

I ordered the chicken tacos, nachos and Margaritas! I must say the food was very flavorful. The wait staff could of been better but it was a good night out!

Be careful when using valet service. The valet drove customer's vehicle the wrong way and almost colided at me ending up folding my miror. Just be careful, because he expects tip on top. I cannot believe he almost got into an accident with a client's vehicle.

Poor service, good food
