I stopped at this location during lunch yesterday on my business trip because it’s near my hotel. I was familiar with the Bar Louie name so I went with it. This was by far the best Bar Louie I have been to— even after visiting locations all over the country. The one thing that made this location stand out was the excellent service by my bartender Megan. She made excellent gin drinks and made sure my potstickers were hot. I’ll be sure to stop in my next visit to Chicago!

Good basic spot. The food is not the best, but it’s ok. It’s consistent. The bartenders are always friendly and attentive. I come here when other places are either too busy or too dead. It has a good selection of drinks, has a fun atmosphere, but at the same time not overly loud so you can have a conversation. Good neighborhood staple.

Phenomenal service! I hosted an engagement party at this location and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The event coordinator, Amanda, was super professional and answered all my questions and was super helpful especially since I was trying to plan this event from out of town. We had a large party of 30 plus and we were in the upstairs private loft and our waitress made countless trips up and down the stairs to make sure all of our orders were taken care of. 10/10 Service. Would highly recommend.

Very bad experience! I visited this place so many times and the service didn’t meet the expectations. But it was the worst! Usually we come in a big group of international students and we spend our evening their. Last time the guy who works in the middle of the bar asked me in a very rude way to show my ID in the front of all people (Although he knows me because I came several times before) after he saw my ID he took my drink and throw it away. He said read my date of birth wrongly! And when my friends started to explain he realized that and he didn’t apologize!

$5.25 Martinis are the beast deal in the South Loop on a Wednesday or Thursday night. Menu selection is good but the menu is changed too often. If you go on a Wednesday night, ask for Cassie for your server or if you go on Thursday night, ask for Michelle. They are the best servers at Bar Louie. You won't be disappointed.

Came in today for a drink after work. I was greeted immediately by someone and told to sit wherever I liked. My server Nixxi was THE BEST! Anyone who can keep up small talk while also floating from table to table is a well balanced and prompt individual. I never had to ask for anything she was always on top of it. I’d highly recommend asking for her whenever you come in.

I visited this place on 10/4 around 5:30pm and we where so impressed with the service and prices we came back at around 11:30pm. Clay was our bar tender both times and our drinks where delish. This was our last stop on a friend's bar hopping tour, And in a group of mostly males the lone female got sick in the restroom. not only did the waitress check up on her even though we didn't ask her to, she got her some extra water really took care of her and well all of this was going on, one of the bartenders came to our table to let us know our friend was sick but she was being taken care of. He was very knowledgable about the menu and always kept it fun and interesting. The food came out in a timely manner and there was never any bad spots to the meal. Service is always questionable here at Bar Louie and you'd be willing to sacrifice the service if the food was worthwhile or the drink specials were on point. When all 3 are subpar, it's no surprise that the locals choose to go anywhere else but Bar Louie. With so many places attempting to keep customers coming back it may behoove the bartenders/servers to stay off of their social media and cell phones and focus on the customers in front of them.

This is my neighborhood spot when I want to watch a game or get a decent happy hour special. I come here very often on Wednesdays for the $1.25 beer / half priced martini special. And of course they have half priced appetizers every day from 4-7pm. There is almost always a place to sit since the space is large, although the top area is blocked off pretty often. I usually sit at the bar, and the bartenders do a great job of serving everyone quickly. The drinks are always made correctly, but I do think they could have a bigger selection of whiskeys. The food here is also great. I usually get the boneless wings, which come out on a cute little cast iron pan. The chips and dips appetizer is also good for sharing. I will keep coming here as long as they have their great happy hour specials and fun environment for watching sports.

This review is strictly for their happy hour. I came to Bar Louie with a friend recently and was excited to learn that they had their HH going when we got there. Bar Louie has a great HH! Probably one of the best I've seen in Chicago. They have half off appetizers and $5 martinis and discounts on beer (but I don't remember specifically) from 4-7PM Monday through Friday! We opted for the boneless chicken wings ($6.50 during HH) and pepperoni flatbread ($6 during HH). The wings came with ranch and blue cheese dressing. The wings were decent, I would say a bit on the salty side. I enjoyed the pepperoni flatbread. Both of these were good portion sizes. My friend and I both got the "Effen good" martini which was delicious!! It was so refreshing with flavors of cucumber and just a bit of sweetness. Also loved their outdoor seating on a nice summer day! Would definitely come back here for HH but not sure if I'd pay full price for their apps.

Me and my girlfriend live on Printers Row. We come to this location frequently. Nichelle (Nixxi) is one of the best waitresses we’ve ever had. Not just at a Bar Louie chain, but any restaurant. Everything from the two tone hair to the friendly attitude fully embodies the image I believe Bar Louie is trying to be. Hip, friendly and welcoming. Between DJing in bars for 5 years, and spending 7 in the industry as a bouncer I have yet to see an employee who cares about their customers the way Nixxi does. She at one point even traded a table with another server so she could help us. I genuinely hope her managers see this and appreciate her for the dedicated employee she is. She definitely deserves it.

First off- the location is gorgeous, I love that it's inside an old looking trainstation. The aesthetic is there, great area. Go here when you can get burgers for really cheap! I forget which specific day it is- but the food is good, the environment is friendly. I went here when I wasn't 21 so I couldn't get any drinks, but I'll have to return now to experience it all again.

Had a great experience while watching my Lakers on a Saturday night by myself at the Bar Louie in the South Loop. All of the staff there was really friendly. My server Kat was very charismatic and multi tasked between so many customers like I never saw before. She definitely deserves a huge raise and promotion. She even recommended a really good sagria (lucky guess by her...Sangria is my favorite wine) and even let me sample it. She was very warm and attentive and has a very great personality. I was in there for the $8 lunch special yesterday (02/19) and Claudia recommended the crispy chicken melt with tots which tasted amazing! Will definitely be back.
