Amazing food and great service

BT

Bad service, and sides were better than entrees. My family and I arrived Saturday night, and our waiter didn’t seem happy to serve. Once seated, we received our drinks, and I noticed something floating in my drink. I looked closely, and it seemed to be a very small dead worm. I lost my appetite. My sister checked hers, spit it out and found something as well. We requested new drinks, and he didn’t apologize but was willing to fulfill request. Sides arrived, and it was tasty (1 star for that). Once our dishes arrived, it wasn’t authentic at all. My sister requested beef bulgogi, and it was dry, and flavor was bland compared to previous beef bulgogi I’ve tried at previous Korean restaurants. During our time there, the waiter sat at another table across the aisle waiting for us, which made me felt uncomfortable being watched at. I could not wait to get out. Not worth the experience, nor was it worth taking a picture.

Dang, this place is great. I cant help but order multiple dishes to sample the menu and each dish was delicious. Tempura udon noodles, stir fried squid and pork, stir fried pork belly, bibimbop, chicken wings, Kalbi... each dish is a hit. I highly recommend this place.

Mitch Phillips

Service was outstanding and food was well priced and portions were huge!! Highly recommend if you want authentic Korean dishes.

Ebony Edwards-Carr

The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired, and the food was just okay.

Lilac Xiong

Came excited due to the good reviews. Food was not bad, but sadly customer service was really lacking. It was the worse experience ever. Our server did not come give us our bill even after we clearly wore our jackets, stopped eating, and looked ready to go. We finally got the bill 30 minutes after we stopped eating.

I'm spoiled with knowledge of Korean food, having lived in Seoul over ten years now. This restaurant is definitely the most authentic Korean food I've tried in America yet. They're about 85% of the way there. Most of the side dishes are on par, though the kimchi dishes aren't sour enough. Jjigae is a bit too salty, Yoog-gae-jang a bit too sweet. The Chap-chae is actually even better than in Korea and the Kalgoogsoo is about "50% authentic", according to my Korean father-in-law. Still, I'm not complaining! This is good food, especially if you're missing Korean cooking. Keep in mind the portion sizes are BIG. If you come with a group of people, I'd recommend ordering a bit less and sharing, i.e. 3 dishes for 4 people, since they do offer several Korean side dishes with the meal. Enjoy!

Probably the best Korean food I've had in the city

Isaac Sanborn

I've been coming here every year for the past three years while I'm at the Socialism conference at McCormick Place. Excellent service, delicious food. Helps me stay grounded and nourished while I'm away from home.

If you've ever had half-decent Korean food in your life, this is not a place for you. We ordered Gimmari, Kim-chi pancakes, Jjajangmyeon, spicy pork, stir-fried kimchi-pork, and dol-sot bi-bim-bap. Bi-bim-bap came with rock-hard tofu that was cooked days before and/or sitting in refrigerator too long. One tofu piece was so hard, I could not even squeeze it with my fingers. Seasoned vegetables on top were not good at all. My wife stopped eating after few bites. All the side dishes were bland and non-distinguishable from one to the other by taste. My daughter who loves kim-chi pancakes refused to eat it after a bite. Undercooked and flavor-less. Noodle inside gimmari was overly puffy and soaked in oil. Jjajangmyeon was ok but taste was not remotely even close to anything you would find at a Korean-Chinese restaurant. Spicy pork and stir-fried kim-chi/pork dishes were passable but I would want to come back to eat them. I feel like this place should trim down menu and focus on few really well made items. I can't recommend this place at all. Also, please consider replacing unappetizing severely scratched up white ( not-so-white ) sharing dishes you provided with appetizers. I lost my appetite as soon I saw those dishes come with gimmari and kim-chi pancakes.

I get the Ramen every time and it is so good! The apps they give you are such a great array of different spiciness, flavors and textures. Would absolutely reccomend as a date night or hangout spot for your trip to ChinaTown!

Cierra Smith

The chicken wings are amazing

Katie Dahlberg

This was my first time trying any kind of Korean food and I LOVED this place! The menu is detailed in what every dish is and if you're still confused, the staff is so helpful! Had the bulgogi and it was amazing. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Chicago!

林柏偉

It's very nice Korean restaurant for visit, and the food is very authentic and the service is good too.

Ji sang Yun

you can have so so Korean food. Overall food is o.k.a.y. If you must drink Korean soju you can buy them at Korean market. But it is nice to get them delivered.

Dionisius Noerjadi

The food, along with the side dishes are great. My only complaint is that the place is kind of small

Greg Shamblin

Came here with my girlfriend who is half Korean, and a Korean food evangelist. We both loved it! We've eaten at at least half a dozen Korean places now (a couple in chicago) and this might be the best one yet. This was the first time she's …

Hind KH

Good vide, kind staff and delicious food.

Mo Haugh

I've been here more times than I can count, and the food is consistently delicious while being very reasonably priced. The service can be a bit slow at times, but everyone who works here is always very friendly (and always willing to bring refills on banchan), so I really don't mind. I recommend this place to everyone I know looking for good Korean food.

freason Ip

I used to love it here until they stopped letting you take out the side dishes. Mainly because many customers started to take that for granted. Honesty whenever I go there I would order the stone bowl, I think it's a #10. I order beef for the meat, they serve a tiny amount of beef and loads amount of veggies. Therefore I think it's not worth it. Because I have been to a Korean food place inside a market where the serve similar food but in a tray, the meat was more than the rice and veggie! I won't be saying the market name because I don't want to be advertising. Anyway, I think the black bean noodles are decent there. P.S do you guys notice Google review only captures the good part of the comment of peoples' post?

Mona Alshorah

Small Korean restaurant next to the Chinatown fire station. The wings were spicy with a touch a sweet. We really enjoyed all the traditional Korean sides with our meal. Our server took the time to answer our questions and gave us honest recommendations on his faves. The Bibimbop was really tasty and easily shareable for two people. Definitely check this place out in person or on DoorDash. Sidenote, if you spend over $50 you get some free mochi!

Chinatown Hotel

Great food fast delivery 123-888

AJ

A nice place for those who haven't experienced Korean cusine and the ambiance of Korean dining. But for those who are quite advanced with 한식 I'd say there are much better options in Chicago.

Jorge

I CANT DESCRIBE IN WORDS HOW LIFE CHANGING THIS PLACE IS.

Esmeralda paola Rodriguez

Good taste omg

Angela Sing

This place is completely unique compare to any other place in Chinatown. Definitely worth checking out, their menu is huge and their portions are big. Need to come back more to try the other things. I had the Soon Tofu and they gave 8 side dishes with the meal.

Michelle Pereyra

LOOOOVVVVEEEE this place. Employees are nice. Nice big servings. In my opinion good prices also. Always come here with friends.

Khoua Eh Lee

Didnt know this place was even here and I've been in Chinatown a handful of times. It's open late and the food is amazing. Employees were nice and helpful. Food was amazing. Probably one of the better Korean foods I have tried in Chicago. I tried the Stir Fried Pork Belly with Tofu and it was deliciously well done. Pork was tender to the tongue and the tofu and sauce was flavorful! This place will satisfy your Korean taste buds. You won't be disappointed. Defintiely a must try if you're in the area.

Terecita Gil

I love the service here and the food is delicious.

Jessica Juliano

Absolutely amazing food. Great deals on Soju and overall amazing time. I've been to South Korea and was looking for pork backbone soup- this sated the cravings perfectly! Authentic!

Marit Mariit

Food was great and service, too. But the squid was too tough in the pork and squid dish we had.

Martin Leyson

Love Korean food and this place is good.

Jonathan K

Food decent, prices OK, but way too many better Korean places nearby both for food and for service. One item to try is Kimchi and Seafood pancake!

Vi Nguyen

The food was good. I've been here a couple of times, even when they are busy the staff are nice. I wish they had more vegetarian options though

Bengi Durgunoğlu

Best wings I've ever had!

Tony Ning

Best korean place in Chinatown

Vivian W.

The food is good but the seating in the middle is a little strange. If you sit in the middle section, the seats are all connected so if you sit back, you might be touching someone else's back. Also, we never had our side dishes refilled during our meal. I wanted more fish cake.

Sara Timberlake

Good food, great ambiance. Really convenient to the red line Cermak stop. I've felt that the bulgogi recently has tasted different.

Taylor Mitchell

I love coming to this place! It's a regular spot for me and my friends.Customer service is great and the food is always on point.

Funlola Oyewo

I had the La Bokki and Bibimbap delivered. It tasted great! Large servings and all the side dishes were included in the delivery. I recommend this place based on the what I ordered so far.

Sangyeon Cho

Most of Chicago's restaurants are located in downtown North. It is relatively close to Chinatown. You can also order shochu. Food tastes Usually, there are more Chinese and Americans than Koreans.

Antoinette Ashmore

We loved this Korean food restaurant. I was a little annoyed with the wait as there were open tables, but the food definitely made up for that. I feel like your money goes far too. They bring so many sides with the meal, we were absolutely stuffed when we left!

Austin Anderson

Fantastic food! Don't come here expecting super-authentic Korean food. This is a blend of Korean with some American hints. That doesn't change the fact that everything tastes wonderful. Try out the spicy chicken stew (dinner for two) or the tempura udon noodles.

Teri Pham

Love love love coming here, since they have great Korean food in the South Loop/Chinatown area. Service is great, love eating there with their side dishes and getting the La Bokki. I always come for a nice girls night for cheap soju and a good time.

Juliana Muñoz Toro

So tasty! And good service I tried vegetable dumplings, fish and rice cakes, kimchy, tofu, sweet popato noodles in seeweed and egg roll.

Phillis Acevedo

Good food, good service.

tae woon kim

Slow menu and food. No any service

peacenlove D

Very good food, good service, the only down fall is it was a bit dark.. other then that it was a thumbs up! 3

Cassandra Sura

Very greasy food, mostly friend options, but good. Cute space and good service. The cheesey seafood pancake sounded like a culinary faux pas, but other than being extremely greasy, the flavors were good. It would make a great spot for hangover or drunk meals.

Karina Ellis

A preferred spot for Korean food. It was so appetizing. Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. The bill was good for how much you get.

DaChon Adair

Today I returned to Chinatown, not for Chinese food but Korean! This place is 2 doors down from the Firehouse. Easy to find. I stopped here and was delighted with what I found. Great honest kind service. Food served fast with a smile. Recommendations that are honest and insightful. I started with the sweet & spicy chicken wings. Crisp and coated with this super sticky tasty sauce. Absolutely delicious. The sauce doesn't make the wings coating all soggy. Be warned the sauce is super sticky. You will need to wash your hands before touching anything else or starting the next course but believe me it is worth it for the little bit of trouble. I moved on to Beef Bulgogi with a side of white rice. Yum yum yum! Tender meat and a plethora of sides. Potatoes and carrots, spicy kimchi, cucumber is sweet sauce, bean sprouts on sesame oil, seaweed, broccoli and fishcake. I am not a fan of fishcake but I always try it so I'm not missing out on anything. The spicy kimchee got me twice. It was so good, so spicy, so crisp and amazingly delicious, I am didn't mind my nose running. This is a small gem starring you right on the face. After all that food I asked for a beer recommendation. Not one Korean working here recommended the Korean beer. They liked the Sapporo, of which I am very familiar. So Sapporo it is! I certainly want to come back, bring a friend or family to turn them on to this place. I want to come try a chicken dish next. I thoroughly enjoyed this outing which was on a whim because I needed to get out the house. I am so glad I came. Looking forward to coming again in the future. I am sorry I missed this place for such a long time. I hope never to make that mistake again. I am so stuffed. No shortage of food here to eat so stuff yourself with healthy sides. They give plenty.

Trash Roberts

Amazing. Sit back and enjoy.

Charles Davis

Very good food and friendly service

Jungah Kim

The banchan is not that good.

Yummi G

Great food and ambiance!love it

Jung Hun Im

As a korean person, I rate this place a 1. Why? 1 we asked for hot tea 3 times, and the food we got was not up to par. 2.We ordered the chicken bulgogi, the worst I had ever tried. It was more of a Chinese style stir fry than a korean chicken. The side dishes were just not the type that we koreans would be happy with.

Jeffrey Saastad

Very clean, with a knowledgeable staff.

Jesse

First time ever having Korean food, absolutely delicious! There is so much to choose from and they give you so much as a little appetizer. Be prepared to use chopsticks. Definetly worth checking out!

Nicki U.

Food was very good. Service was good up until we wanted to pay, then it was difficult to get a server's attention.

Nick Welman

Very nice Korean restaurant with quality food and friendly staff.

Renea Walker

It's my favorite place to eat in.

K M

Good service, delicious food. very pretty inside. Staff is very nice. they play korean music (KPOP) in the background but its not too loud. the food tastes fresh. Also, if you plan to visit but have a friend that doesn't like to try new things, i recommend you get the fried chicken that comes with a really good sauce. you can ask to have the sauce on the side too and its around $6. :)

Ifad Noor

Simply delicious. Very homey feel and expedient service as well. Great spot for great tasting Korean BBQ. My favorite is the spicy chicken bulgogi. Dinner waits can get a bit long during the weekend, but it's worth the wait.

cody ray

Had a great experience. The beef bibimbap is in the picture. All the little sides they bring you are are a great addition to the meal. The beef bulgogi would be better with some extra veggies but it's on the menu, i just didnt order them. Khan was our waiter and is a dang hard working guy, i would hire him.

George Tsiotsios

Easy to access there are near to the city’s parking Good Korean comfort food !

JT Byrne

It probably deserves five stars but I don't think I'm really that much of a fan of Korean food I guess... I really enjoyed the sojou though, half off Mondays!

Hg Creeperz

Service was good and they were very nice. The serving portions were past my expectation and we were able to leave full. Great place for Korean food.

Joseph Bledsoe

Food was great but service was slow and unreliable we received every entree at least 10 minutes after the other with the last taking around 25 minutes after the one before it. We waited to start eating until the last person got their food and by that time the first meal was near room temperature. Server barely apologized as she went passed. With so many options nearby I'm surprised they aren't trying to stand out in a positive way

Clystiel Carvalho

Totally recommended! Great Korean food!

RunWithTheWind

Eh. For the price point? Probably not worth. Oden Teng with two sticks only and just clear broth for 15$? Broth was mediocre. Thank you, next.

Patrick Street

Such a great experience. Vegetarian bibimbop, TONS of free side dishes. Great wait staff in a hip decor.

Clay K.

Their 2 person hot pot meals are the best! I happened to come in on a Wednesday and quickly found out that their 2 person meals are half off that day. It was so much food, so tasty, and practically free. Highly recommend for date night or getting a bunch of friends together.

Rui Zhong

Not a whole lot of good Korean options in the city. This place hit the spot

Emily Shen

This place is a solid 3 stars. The food is just okay. If you know your Korean food, everything will taste bland and overcooked to you. By normal standards it's pretty okay. I've been here a few times and have tried the bulgogi, bibimbap, seafood pancake, stir fried squid and pork, jjajangmyun, and a couple of the soups. Out of the things I've tried, the soups are the best and most flavorful. The stir fried squid and pork wasn't bad either, because it was smothered in sauce. Unfortunately everything else is quite bland. The banchan is tasteless and so is the bibimbap (like c'mon how do you mess this up?). The jjajangmyun literally had no salt or flavor and the mucky black bean sauce was pretty gross actually. The bulgogi was really tough and overcooked, and the seafood pancake wasn't salty enough either. One good thing is that if you dine in, you can you can fill out a form for your email and birthday, which they will keep track of and send you a $25 off coupon when it's almost your birthday. I believe they do ask for an ID when you come in to redeem it. I do think that the portions are decently large and the service is pretty standard of what you'd expect in Chinatown. But there are so many more better options around this restaurant. And if you want good Korean food, you'd have better luck going somewhere up north.

Evelyn Reyes

I loved the spicy rice cakes here! The restaurant was beautiful and the customer service was above my standards! Can’t wait to visit again!

Lucas Cardo

Ordered via their catering menu and everyone who tried it gave me good feedback. The food was plentiful and delicious. Ordered (1) the Bibimbop - a huge tray of cooked rice, well made side of veggies, somehow perfectly runny fried eggs (really I was impressed with this given the need for delivery time to see them arrive this way, def bumps the rating) and well cooked beef (i wish they were a bit more generous with this part of the meal because we ended up with half a tray of left over rice and no meat, felt the proportion was a touch off) - (2) Jopche - totally banging noodles for the vegetarian crowd that in no way made you miss the meat. The kimchee was delicious as well. The staff were responsive and the delivery was on time. I know they have made it to my short list of catering choices in the future - really great meal!

Darreon Nihiser

You get complimentary appetizers so you aren't really compelled to spend extra money on appetizers. You don't wait long on orders. Everything from the bibimbop to the bulgogi comes out warm and tasty. The service is phenomenal as well. The last time I was there a server noticed that a group had left their bag. The server then proceeded to dash out of the door with the bag. He ended up finding the group and returning the bag to them. Taking into account the service, food time, food quality, and price I give 5 stars.

adam lee

MulNyangMUm beef shank noodles in cold broth with pickled veggies and pear plus ginger lemon iced tea : best remedy for this weather, order their "magic cup" and get free unlimited refills on ginger lemon tea (also available in hot for winter times) for entire YEAR ...crazy deal

Stephanie Lovell

Stopped in for lunch and grabbed the Buddae Chigae. More food than I could possibly consume and it arrived quickly at my table.

KalCity 24

This place was great... Staff was amazing prices was fare

Will Heo

Pocha-style restaurant; dishes come in large portion; delicious and reasonably priced

Kesh k

Great food cozy atmosphere

Janylai Mavlanbek

I love the food! Jajanmen is the best!

Yohei Kanehara

Food is not great. I could tell the noodles were prepackaged and food came out cold.

Roel Garcia

Is great Korean Restaurant. You get free appetizers with any order. Great food not expensive. I recommend it to anyone that enjoys to eat.

Rosie J

Went on date here. The waitress was very lovely and tended the table amazingly. Got two dinners plus sides. Incredibly filling and worth the price. Whole meal about $50 with a bottle of alcohol. Planning to go back again and again.

Elisabeth Hays

I've been ordering from this spot for a while and recently stopped in for dine in service. The food is always great! The service is excellent. I love the dduk kochi and the Mul Nang Myun (buckwheat noodles in cold broth) is so delicious and refreshing. The whole menu is great but those are my absolute favorites.

Jade Lei

First time and never again. Server is horrible. No greeting with attitude. First thing came up to us just asking ready to order? No water after we sat down for 20 mins, even I specifically asked the server for water before ordering food. Server only showed up twice for the whole meal. Food were okay. I prefer the other in China square.

Petr Yakovlev

Great food, good atmosphere. Authentic Korean food that makes me feel like I'm back in Seoul. Couldn't be more delicious. Saw some reviews about poor service so was a bit worried about coming here. Had no trouble. Service was great, and we just flagged down waitstaff when it got crazy busy. Got quick and friendly service as soon as we raised our hands. If you're waiting too long, I suggest you do the same.

Eric T.

Very tasty food. First time @ Ahjoomah's. Didn't dissapoint. Kim Bop was so tasty. Great Bulgogi. Would recommend it for a great evening out with friends.

matthew han

Coming from NOVA (northern VA) I've had a lot of good Korean food, this place has been the best Korean spot in Chicago that I've had thus far. Nice location in Chinatown, easy to go get dessert somewhere near by. Yangyum chicken was pretty good, Korean style fried chicken was also tasty. Side dishes assortment was kinda small but tasty.

Girish Srinivasan

Pretty good typical Korean food. Good vegetarian options. Liked the dwenjang chigae, kal kuksu, fried mandu ...

CZ

I've been to Ahjoomah's a couple of times and it's great Korean food. All of the dishes are delicious and the portions are really nice. The wait staff is always friendly and it has a nice atmosphere.

Kenny Phaup

Hooray for Korean food! This place was everything I'd hoped it would be. The atmosphere is very updated and modern. The staff were so pleasant and ready to explain menu items and offer suggestions. The banchan sides were all delicious, and …

Landy Lin

I was craving Korean cold noodles and came here because of the good reviews. We got the cold noodles and jjampong but neither was great. We also ordered the grilled pork belly but we didn't get it towards the end of the meal. I see the appeal of this place just not my cup of tea.

뉴코크TV

Nice portion and delicious. But too salty for Korean people

Nada el maliki

Amazing authentic korean food. Good service. Constant refills of water and korean side dishes. Welcoming and warm reminded me of korean restaurants I used to visit when living in Seoul.

Fabz dlt

Food was AMAZING! service was a little slow despite not being busy but the food made up for it I definitely recommend it! I'll be returning.

Karolina Lekarczyk

This restaurant is great! We wanted to try something new and our niece is learning Korean. I wish we had more guidance as to what to order as first timers, but it’s a busy place. By the way the free mochi is only Monday through Thursday!

G User

Came here after trying Korean BBQ and non BBQ Korean restaurants in Chinatown area to be very disappointed. Didnt taste authentic at all. For someone who does not know authentic Korean food would likely think it was good. Nope, not I. If you want a taste of real Korean food, eat here. Staff was nice, will be back (:

Penny I

I hate giving bad reviews but if you come here don't expect to eat authentic Korean food. It was very disappointing. The galbitang didn't taste like the authentic Korean food. My seafood noodles were super salty. Also, the spoons were sticky even though they were clean. On the good side, staff were super friendly.

Mai Sue Thao

Great place, great food. Definitely will be going there when in Chicago again. Make sure to get the guy as your server. He was so awesome and funny!

matthew gilboy

We split the C9 bibimbop. It was very good, enough for two, came with plenty of garnishes. It was a great value for the price. The servers were terrific and the food was cooked and presented very well. You can add extra items to the dishes, so we added some beef to go along with the shrimp in the bowl. It came out very good. It looks hectic and crowded at first, but once you sit down the seating is organized in a way that feels calm and well placed, not chaotic or overwhelming.

Audacious Me

Wonderful!!! Staff was very nice! Even said bye once I left ^^ I really appreciated that :3

Carlos Sanchez

Fantastic place, with excellent service and absolutely delicious food. The environment is lively and well suited for conversation and hang outs. It's a bit tight though, so those with wheelchairs may encounter some problems. Regardless, nice area in Chinatown.

Sara Sustersic

The bulgogi and pork belly were delicious! This place gets very crowded, so make a reservation. The seating is very tight and you may share a long table with strangers, so not ideal for anyone mobility challenger or kids on strollers.

Emili de la Cruz

Attentive service, very good portions. The food was delicious.

Pepe Sánchez Cetina

Great pork dishes. Great soups.

Alexis DoubleU

I LOVE this restaurant! You get large portions of delicious food for affordable prices!! The atmosphere is nice and the ambiance is relaxing!

Brianna Carothers

New experience for us! The food was delicious! Great staff!

Paul Chang

Outrageously expensive for less than mediocre food. I ordered Kimchi Jjigae, which tasted so bland that I'm pretty sure they just chopped some cabbage and threw it in water. They need to get a new chef.

Relean Kanaki

Whenever I have the chance to head down to Chinatown, and rarely I know any good Korean food, this is the place. My favorite is the bibimbap, the bowl is big and delicious!

Giandomenico Russo

Nice and not expensive

Chris Lee

Good selection of side dishes

Moonchild

Food was very tasteless, not very flavorful. The japchae was VERY dry and didn't really like the bibimbap here. Other than that, the overall experience was nice, very nice place! Super clean and played the best songs! Don't plan on coming back though, but I would for the mochi!

CMBarbarian

Delicious authentic Korean cuisine, friendly service, and large portions

Brian Ploszay

Great Korean food in China Town. Been there quite a few times.

Nyssa Bolden

The food is really good and the offerings fit a variety of taste.

Penny B

Food was terrible! I read the reviews before I went and thought it was going to be a positive dining experience. However, I was disappointed in overall poor food quality and taste. Worst cooked meal I've had in a Korean restaurant.

Quan Le

The restaurant has been closed because of the license suspended since 9/4/2018, according to the notice issued by Chicago Department of Public Health on the front door. No sign of reopening date has been shown yet.

Chris Krolczyk

More of a traditional sit-down place than your usual tabletop grill Korean places, but that difference aside, it didn't disappoint. Try the stoneware Dolsot Bimibap for something extra the next time you try that traditional standby; all the other entrees they offered (we shared) are great as well.

Kenni Terrell

The food here was delicious! There was no way that we could finish all of our food. The battered chicken wings (sweet and spicy) were my favorite.

uranus aguilar

One of my favorite place to go eat. The food is good. Never had to complain about my food being cold, raw or anything of that nature so far... They have vegetarian option those individuals that follow that diet. Don't get me started with the food portion..the amount is pretty good really get my money's worth.

Andy Zamora

Simply WOW!!! Best Korean i had in a while. The Kimchi is excellent, Chicken Bibimbap is a must ( the rice stuck at the bottom :)))) ) Kimchi Crepe, Bulgogi, Excellent service and very cozy place.

Kenneth Villanueva

First time at this place was great. Atmosphere felt different but good. Unique seating style, not too spacious, cozy lighting. Booths felt individualized while still being close together. Food was delicious. Probably the best for the price on a Wednesday as well. Wednesdays is HALF OFF ALL Dinner-for-2 specials. Extremely worth it for value. Only ordered two items, but both were enough to fill for 2-3 people. Grilled Pork Belly Dinner-for-2, and Kalbi Dolsot. For the Grilled Pork Belly, I suggest keeping it tender/softer. It was a bit hard to go through. Kalbi was great. Side dishes were enough for 2, lots of variety. Sauce. The sauce was spectacular according to my girlfriend. Perfect for the Kalbi dish. It's a special bibimbap house blend I believe after talking to staff. (Red bottle in photos) Service was overall great. Enough staff for the restaurant. Small suggestions would be for more attention to water (not even a big deal). The restaurant was not extremely busy so there was no reason to rush services. Wednesdays are probably the best days for eating bang-for-buck. I recommend pairing the Grilled Pork Belly with the Kalbi Dolsot. The price came out less than $33! (See photos)

Christian Zavala

Take a break from the same Asian style food you find in Chinatown. Try something different. This restaurant offers a variety of noodles to choose from and imported drinks. Would really recommend to try this place.

Hyon Phillips

The food was great and service was excellent especially our waitress was kind and sweet lady.

Donald Moseley

After a nightmare of an experience the last we came here we thought we would give it another chance. The service has gotten way better but the food is just ok and I think there are so many better places out there for Korean food. The panchan was all old nothing really fresh. We ordered an appetizer and it came out after the main meals were served. I would normally sent it back but I really had a craving for julmyun. Well my craving for julmyun is still active because it was just ok there. For the prices that they are charging the are really over skimping on the meat in the dishes also. My son got a kalbi bibimbop and it came with four pieces that were the pieces of bone with a little bit of meat on them. My pork bulgogi had very little meat in it also.

Alex Eid

Quality Korean dishes like jjajamyeon, doenjang jjigae, and soondubu jjigae in Chicago's Chinatown.

Shelby Hobbs

korean food and the setting at this location is great. the staff was friendly and sociable. prices were average for the menu. they have so many great reviews for a reason.

Eugene Nelson

Great food and friendly service.

Bethany Polter

Great food and great staff. Hands down recommended stopping here.

J.C. Chang

For some korean restaurant if you come alone, they’ll cut some side dishes, but this is not the case here. 7 side dishes with decent quality for me alone. Fast and friendly service. Wide variety of dishes, huge portions, with relatively low price, comparing to Bay Area where I come from. Definitely worth a try. If I live in Chicago I’ll probably come everyday!

Arleen Garcia

Never tried Korean before but this place had really good food and overall comfortable atmosphere.

The Ars Nova

Got the beef bulgoli and it was not good. The taste was there but it felt like I was eating ground beef. Definitely not the Korean BBQ you should settle for.

Joe Emprayil

Great atmosphere. Food is great tasting and reasonably priced. I wish they served tea in a cup and not in a glass. Pretty hard to drink hot tea from a glass.

Very nice little restaurant with a real touch of Korea. Would recommend to friends that are looking for a good Korean style meal.

Had it to go. Side dishes were good. Chinatown is pretty far so I don't recommend getting the fried chicken since it doesn't stay warm unless you live nearby. Also not a fan of the coleslaw. The bibimbap was so good. And the portion was huge mainly because it came with side dishes and I just poured everything together.

kit

Pretty good.

Vivi K

Food was great! Very authentic Korean . The staffs are super nice ! Reasonable price !!

David Park

The service was pretty good, and the food was slightly above average. Good to get a quick Korean food fix

Winnie

Big portions and some decent food. Since it is in Chinatown, I don't have to go up north to find some Korean food. I like the Jjamppong and seafood pancake. The portions are large and I usually have some leftover. The Ssamgae-Tang was flavorless so don't get that.

Angie Lina

Delicious food as always. Worth every bite

Kari Huang

Service is always good, side dishes are bomb, cheese seafood pancake and budae jungeol are my faves. Must get their hot barley tea. Great accessible location.

John Kinski

Great spot for late dine in, they open till 1:30 am on Weekends, loved boodae jun-gool for two : large pot of spam, sausage, pork, tofu and kimchi stew, offer on table said every Wednesday you can have it for half price which is really great deal

Michelle Hamilton

Love it! Staff is friendly and ready to explain anything you don't understand. Has it's own unique side dishes. Kimchi is spicy not as pickled tasting as others. I like that I was able to taste Korean Rice wine. They also have different flavors of Soju. Great place if you really want to taste some Korean flavors.

Samantha Chen

Good Korean food and a nice place to eat and relax. The waiters and waitresses are friendly too.

Scott Wood

My wife and I went there for a nice relaxed lunch. Attentive staff, reasonable prices and amazing food! Recommend 5/7!!

Stephanie

I love their Dolsot Bibimbap. I also like that they provide 7 banchan.

Amy L

The quality of the food I got from delivery was very poor. I don't know what the quality is like at the actual restaurant, but I had to reorder my dinner from somewhere else because what I received was not good.

Rebecca Corona

My daughter likes all things korean, so I looked for someplace that served korean food in Chinatown and came up on Ahjoomah apron. OMG I LOVED IT! WAIT STAFF SUPER FRIENDLY, VERY CLEAN, FOOD WAS GREAT, DRINK WAS GREAT!! definitely coming back!

Ever since I found this place in 2016, I have been going back since and ever time it’s with friends the food selection is amazing. Their soju drinks also amazing! Highly recommended.

Dan Gray

Decent Korean food.

Everything is so good. Just try everything. I would recommend the katsu whatever. Fried pork thing. So delicious.

Charmaine Lambaren

Very impressed with the food here. Atmosphere was very cozy.

Kel Green

Good spot for Korean food. Only one in Chinatown. A little pricey food was good.

Ivana Chen

Delicious spot for Korean food. Avoid peak hours if you don’t want to wait. Their bonchine is excellent and I always have leftovers because portions are plentiful. I recommend the Budae Jiggae and Yookjae Jang. Don’t forget to redeem a free mochi through checking in on Yelp or Google Maps!
