I’ve had a chance to eat here several times. I’ve always enjoyed the food I’ve eaten. The selection is pretty good. They do a great job with giving good Idaho selection for food and names of the food. It doesn’t matter what you get, you know it’s going to taste great. If you’re downtown, it’s worth giving this place a shot.

I cannot rate the food, because we never got any after half an hour wait. We were the first seated in the restaurant at 11:00, and first ordered. By 11:30 still no food, although we told the waitress we had an appointment at noon. We did not have complicated orders. . . bacon and eggs and a fish taco. Others (who came in later and ordered later) were getting served around us. So unless you have time to be very leisurely, I would recommend trying somewhere else.

Food was very underseasoned. The pricing was also pretty high for that caliber of food. Took us a while to get the attention of the frantic waiter. Expected a lot more from the good reviews i saw.

Unaccommodating and rude We came here as a family after our grandma's funeral. Several of us have allergies and asked for certain things to be removed from our sandwiches. We were told that the restaurant could, in no way, accommodate us and the waitress was quite rude when she said we'd have to just choose different items from the menu. We decided to stay since it was late and we'd already had a long, emotionally draining day. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich but when I got it there was no Buffalo sauce and the sandwich just tasted strongly of pepper. There was minimal blue cheese and the sandwich was dry. The fries were also overcooked. When we left the waitress chased is out of the restaurant saying my sister had shorted her a dollar. My brother in law told the waitress to remove one dollar from the tip he had left her to cover my sister's bill but the waitress ignored him multiple times and made my sister cry. None of us will be returning.

I really used to like this place, however they recently made a change that they don't allow changes to food. My friend did not want bacon with their fish and they would not allow the bacon to be removed. It put a sour taste in our mouths.

TLDR; Food took too long,no communication. Bad service. Will not be coming back. (Go somewhere else DT to eat!) Went there tonight it was busy , it’s Friday night so it’s expected. The host was very friendly and told us what our wait would be, not a problem. Though I understand it was busy, something happened , maybe our food order didn’t get put in or it was forgotten? Our server was a girl with black hair and she was shorter working the bar area/patio. There was zero communication about our food at all we just sat and waited. Our server never came to check on us in about 45 mins of waiting until we asked what was going on. We asked because a table of four that got there after us got their appetizers/food and was eating and we still hadn’t gotten our food or seen our server. It was just hamburgers shouldn't have taken almost an hour to cook them. By this time the restaurant was pretty cleared out. Our server seemed super annoyed we asked even though we were nice about it. She finally brought our food out not so much as a sorry, yes I know it’s not her fault if the kitchen messed up. I also work as a server elsewhere in town, I get it trust me.As we ate I watched her check multiple times on this table of four super friendly to them. We were just about done eating when she asked if the food was alright. Really? Went back to check on the table of four. We finished and waited for her to come check on us and bring our check. Really disappointed in this service, I get the kitchen messing up isn’t her fault. But her service or lack of is 100% her fault. I would NEVER treat my customers with the same awful service she gave us. We won’t be coming back at all.

It is a very nice little place, on a corner, lots of windows. I assume it is an old building as they have kept the feeling of an older shop. There is a bar attached, around the corner, but I did not go in that part. The menu had lots of choices, though I think all the salads had Cajun style meat--I am not a fan of Cajun. However, the pasta was excellent, just the right size serving. It looked like a nice array of beers, and they offered a sizable "taste" glass. Keep in mind it is cash only, though they do have an ATM on the premises. Reasonably priced with some entrees at $15 while other ranged to $25 or so.

Was my favorite restaurant a while back, this last time I went was a bit disappointing. Food seemed rushed and not as cared for. Tasted ok, not as good as I remembered it being. Hopefully I just chose the wrong item this day or something.

Our server chose to take three other table's orders before ours. When I caught her attention and said that we had been seated before the three other table's and I would like for her to take our order she informed me with an extraordinary negative attitude that she was only one person. When she served our lunch she dropped the plates on our table, the plates literally bounced on the table, and immediately walked away from our table without a word. We were never checked on during our meal to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything. She likewise dropped our bill at the table with no comment. My husband actually left her a 20% tip against my advice. His reasoning was that we could not let her behavior bring our behavior down to her level. He was right but it was very difficult for me to walk away from the table leaving her tip on it. The food at the Snake Bite Grill is the best in Idaho Falls and I have never missed an opportunity to dine there. That has all come to a screeching halt. Not only will I never go back I will share with anyone who will listen my negative experience. Shame on the Snake Bite Grill's management to allow that behavior in their staff.

This is a favorite eating place of many locals. Quality of food is excelent. I always get the burgers here. Onion rings are perfect. Staff is attentive. Bring cash or a check no debit cards taken was a bit of a surprise. There is an ATM if you forget.

Today I had lunch at The SnakeBite Restaurant and was super disappointed to find out they will no longer allow modifications to their menu items. I was told that it is too complicated for kitchen staff and it “backs up the kitchen” when modifying menu items. For 8 years or so, I’ve been a happy customer to this establishment. Every time I order the Grand Teton Burger without mushrooms. Never do I order something else because it’s my favorite burger and I never felt the need to “branch out” and try something new. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” and I stick to that when ordering the same item. Though I understand we live in a world with extremely picky eaters and a thousand “dietary restrictions” mine is simple, I’m allergic. I really can’t have mushrooms, it’s not a preference. The staff at the restaurant refused to make my sandwich the way I requested so needless to say, I won’t be going back. Note that I don’t say it as a threat to get my way, I just simply don’t want any other burger/sandwich if they can’t hold the mushrooms back.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere but had a small disagreement about the food. I order shrimp and grits. I was hesitant to try. Ask waitress she pulled the manager in he said it was great so I went ahead. Got the food cut a small piece off the try and tried 1 shrimp. I knew I didn’t like it but I hate sending stuff back so I said I’ll eat it anyway. The second shrimp I cut into was cold and chewing and I can’t eat being pregnant so I asked to exchange for a salad. The waitress was nice ask what seems to be two mangers. I’m assuming they said I’d still have to pay for it. So I understood. She asked me if I wanted it boxed. I told her that’s ok just trash it and I’ll take my check. I’m not one for making a scene. We waited a while for the check but the young lady brought the salad out. I told her no thanks. I don't wait the salad just to get the check for the shrimp and grits and we’ll be on our way. She brought brought back check for the shrimp and grits, I paid and left. The process is very discouraging but that shows they could have exchanged the meal. Further more, if I was one of those guest that like to make a scene I’m pretty sure this would not have happened. Waitress was sweet but a manager definitely should have come out to speak with me especially after the 2nd meal came out and was rejected due to waitress misunderstanding. I’d recommend taking care of the guest. I didn’t want anything free but someone could have rectified the issue in a better manner.

5 stars strictly due to the food! Fresh locally grown beef and it was delicious. Charging extra for dry sauce is a bit odd, cash only, and average waiters. I definitely would return for another delicious burger tho!

My Palisades chicken sandwich arrived teeming with flavor - teriyaki, grilled pineapple and fire cooked juiciness complemented by red onion and waffle fries. Incredible! Cold draft beers, great wines and awesome friendly staff. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!

I have never had a manager at a fine establishment argue with my group and I about where our food was. Over an hour of waiting. Other tables served who came in after us, and did I mention the MANAGER? Argued with me about not knowing what was going on in his establishment he is supposed to be supervising? I was embarassed for him for how he was acting, and then, he promptly cancelled our order for us before us walking out. He said behind the front desk to his people, and chefs, "CANCEL THIS ORDER!" We still haven't eaten, and thank you for that wonderfully horrible experience because of how you decided to act when servicing us at 4.4 star reviewed restaurant. Unbelievable. You, my kind sir, don't deserve to be a manager. Not even an "I'm sorry". I feel like I just got bit by a snake.

We were vacationing in the area and read reviews on the Snakebite. One of the best burgers I have had in years. Everything we received was fantastic. Nice beer selection especially when looking to try local and regional brews. Also had fish tacos that were outstanding. You cannot go wrong eating here. The only warning is take cash since credit cards are not accepted. Stop by an ATM first - you will not regret it! Thanks to Cindy our server. Great suggestions and excellent service.

I love this place! One of my favorite restaurants in town. Since it's in Idaho Falls only, they're always busy but they get you seated fairly quickly. As far as food goes, I've tried nearly every burger on the menu and still can't decide a favorite. Definitely worth going to.

I am totally baffled by the number of stars this restaurant receives. Our meal was dreadful, dry and over cooked . Two over cooked dry burgers, one greasy/over cooked quesadilla and a bowl of thick, potatoes mostly clam chowder. The owner will not allow holding anything off a menu item. I asked them to please hold the mushrooms on my quesadilla, another person asked to please leave the lettuce off the burger. The request was denied. The lettuce was an easy fix, but pulling chopped mushrooms out of melted cheese was tedious. I can certainly understand refusing substitutions, but not honoring requests to leave things off is ridiculous. I would not return to SnakeBite and I would not recommend it to anyone. Terrible meal.

Great, wonderful place to come for a burger and waffle fries or onion rings! Ambiance is upbeat and our server was very attentive. My husband and I had burgers that were cooked just right. The fry sauce has a lovely "bite" to it that was unexpected but fantastic with fries or onion rings! Must visit this place if you're in Idaho Falls!!

The Snakebite is a cash only establishment which makes it difficult if you are traveling. They do have an ATM which will cost you $4, so you're already paying before you get anything. Also, for anyone with any allergies or aversion to specific condiments, they do not list what may or may not come on certain things. Example, my wife ordered a burger and if it was made known that it came with mayonnaise she would have not selected it. The server seemed very annoyed that we had to return it because of her allergy. They do however make it very clear that there ARE NO SUBSTITUTIONS!!! So it seems that it's their way only and if you don't like it then though! Just not a friendly place to eat or spend your money.

Great burgers! Teton burger and Black and Bleu are solid, and I have always been pleased. The fries are good, and I know it is annoying to pay extra for fry sauce but it is worth it. No Card bring cash or check, also a hassle. ATM in house. In my opinion everything tastes a little better on Fridays.

Good food, good beer, great atmosphere. Would give 5 stars but they do not take credit cards and will not allow you to edit meals such as hold the onions or peppers off a menu item. They make you pick them off. To much work for the cooks to not add onions to a meal. I guess I don't get it. But it really is a nice place.

Food was decent but you are not allowed to modify your orders at all, i.e. if you don't want tomato on your burger too bad, you're getting tomato on your burger. Pretty ridiculous, and made us think maybe everything was premade or something. Also it is cash only.

I have eaten here throughout the years many times. I have always enjoyed the food . Extremely disappointed with the time it takes to receive our dinner on a Monday night, over 50 minutes ! Don’t appreciate the no modifications :if you’re not going to allow people to modify what’s on their food , burgers, etc you need to put it all on the side. Putting onions under the cheese that is melted is not acceptable !! Some people have allergies to certain foods and others just don’t like them . if you can’t provide the choices this will no longer be one of my choices for dinner . I have adapted your no card policy for many years but this is just pushing the limit. Poor service, ridiculous wait time, and higher price food doesn’t work for me

Good service staff and food. They do not accept cards which I think is a mistake. While at the SnakeBite, I noticed at least 5 different groups of people walk up to the door see the sign notifying that they do not accept cards and then walk away. The food was good, but over priced. I got the shrimp and rice. It was very tasty, but $20 plus for about 6 to 8 shrimp in rice is a bit too high for my liking. Two of my co-workers got the steak dinner and commented that the steaks were cooked perfectly. The steak dinners were also over $20. The restaurant has a cool downtown vibe, just wish they could lower the prices a bit and start accepting cards. With their prices, not everyone has enough cash on hand to pay for multiple meals. I had to walk down to the Wells Fargo to get cash out once I ordered as I needed more cash than what I had on me.

We tried several appetizers, several pasta dishes and ahi tacos. All were very good. They had a good selection of beer. We tried several, one a pineapple cider was very tasty. Service was about the fastest we've experienced in a restaurant. You might get them impression they were making room for more patrons but we didn't need to ask for anything. There is a bar area that is probably different that also serves food. The other dishes served around us all looked delicious. I'll be back to try a burger and the waffle fries.

Great Restaurant! Friendly staff, Cindy was awesome. The food was quick to the table, under 10 minutes, and delicious. I took Cindy's recommendation for the Rocky Mountain Burger, waffle fries and fry sauce, which is .99 cents extra, but worth it. If you are staying at Springhill Suites or Residents Inn this is worth the walk only .3 miles. This is a cash establishment.

The food was decent. We took our young kids and ordered 3 burgers, a sirloin steak, and the 7 Seas. The burgers tasted good and were cooked well. The fries served with the burgers were excellently seasoned. The sirloin was ok but priced like a prime rib. The 7 Seas was good but also probably overpriced. The restaurant seemed more of a pub or bar scene at 6 pm on Monday. We won't go back.

As a local Airbnb host, I always recommend SnakeBite to visitors for looking for an authentic Idahoan dining experience. Every one of them returns extremely satisfied! The venue is cozy and far from the cookie-cutter feel of nearby chain restaurants. TIP: Get the fries and the fry sauce. Just do it.

I will never come back to this restaurant my son brought me here told me how wonderful it was I ordered a chicken sandwich that came with jerk chicken and red peppers I asked for the sandwich to come with no peppers and the waitress explain to me that I have no choice they're going to cook it the way they cook it and if I want to take the peppers off I can and she would bring me an extra plate to do so I said why don't you give that extra plate to the Cook and just not having put the peppers on in the first place she said sorry no substitutions I'd like to tell them that there's a difference between not putting something on and substituting it so my son and I got up and walked out I'm sure when you're serving as many people as you guys you can start doing all kinds of crazy weird things sooner or later it'll catch up to you

I had a terrible experience here. They squished 8 adults and a baby into a table for 6. There is absolutely no accommodation for allergies. My sister told the waitress about her onion allergy, and the waitress told her to, “Just pick something else.” The food was not good. Over cooked fries. Some in our group could not even eat their food because it tasted so bad. The staff were giving us rude looks the entire time we were there. After eating, we went outside to leave, and they stopped us to pay for a missing $.77. While waiting for her husband to bring the missing money, the waitress made my sister cry. The manager was called out for the extra $.77. One of our company offered to transfer the money from his order to the one that came up short, but the waitress completely ignored him. This happened three times. Would NOT recommend. Never coming here again.

I'm sorry to say my last visit was a bit disappointing. Service seemed distracted, not with the usual 'pop'. The Special was tasty and the price wasn't noted; over $30! This is NOT a $22 per plate place so over $30? Tasted good after first serving it so rare it was barely warm..... what the? Normally this place is easily a Four Star.

It was packed but we got right in. It smelled so good, I wanted to eat the restaurant. My husband's chicken sandwich was outstanding- the one with blackened spices and blue cheese. My fish tacos were too mild for me, but that is just personal taste. I probably could have asked for salsa or something. You must get their fry sauce! It is completely different than any other fry sauce you've had and definitely better! I want to go back and try more stuff!

Ok...so we used to live in rexburg and found this place randomly on a date night like 5 years ago. We loved it and the food was amazing. After that we went often up until our move. Outta been 5 years since we had been and finally had the chance to go back. Nothing had changed and that's a GOOD THING! I always got their bleu cheese burger so I had to get that again. I'm not joking when i say it's the best burger I've ever had. It's flavorful and the spread just so good!! The staff is super nice as well. All in all I'd say give it a try if you never have. BRING CASH!!! THAT'S ALL THEY TAKE.

Will no longer be eating here after the recent changes to their policies. For the price I pay to eat here I expect to get at least basic customer service. If I don’t want veggies on my hamburger I should be able to order a burger without any veggies. I was however informed that they no longer accepted modifications on any orders and I would have to get the veggies on my burger. I can go to any McDonald’s and order a burger without lettuce so I would expect the Snakebite to be able to match a fast foods service level. I was wrong. Instead the burger was brought to me with veggies that I had to remove and put on a plate which the waiter immediately took back to the kitchen. It would have been much simpler to have not brought the veggies out in the first place. This use to be one of my favorite places to eat but I cannot support this level of waste

We had reservations for 13 people at 5 PM, just as they opened. They had a table for 10 set up, and wanted to add 3 more people by making us sit in each other's laps. When we added another table to accommodate the rest of us, they came and REMOVED THE TABLE, saying "We're going to be busy tonight." I reminded her that we WERE business . I would not set foot in the place again. BTW, the table they removed was vacant the whole time.

The tables in the bar area are tall and my friend has health problems that make it hard to get up on the high chair. They had shorter seats in the next room, but weren't accommodating. The food and beverage service was good. But I noticed that they turned away customers because they didn't want to open the other half of the restaurant. I've been in the business 20 years. I wouldn't have turned them away. The food was disappointing!! All 3 of us felt that way. Not good for the prices. Please go McKenzie's if you want good shrimp and grits because this dish was a major let down. Salmon cakes were eh. Artichoke dip was too salty!

Great service, wonder food. Loved the atmosphere and layout. My server was awesome. And I will say that the sea food ravioli was hands down the greatest thing I have eaten in all of Idaho Falls.

One of my favorite places to eat in downtown Idaho falls. Tried the burgers and fries, seafood ravioli. All tasty. I do gotta say! That Fry Sauce

I love the hamburgers and waffle fries at the SnakeBite! Warning the fry sauce is on the spicy side. Cute building with lots of art. Bring cash or be prepared with an ATM card. Can be very busy on nights when there are shows at the Colonial Theater which is just down the block.

Bring Cash!!!! This a cash only establishment which is the only downside to this place. They have an atm on site if you forget. The food though is great and their fry sauce makes all the difference. Service is quick and very professional.

Snakebite boycott! My husband and I moved here 4 years ago. Snakebite has been our go to place with friends ever since. Something has changed..... Last night a few of us wanted waffle fries with the steak dinner (ordered in the past) we were told no substitutions. The dinner has potatoes, not fries. However, you can order off the lunch menu to get the fries. Done ✔ When our food arrived the streaks were charcoal on the outside. The guys mentioned it, but didn't want to make a fuss. However, after about 3 bites they couldn't stomach anymore of it. So they ate their fries. When our server checked on our meal. The guys asked for a credit on their steaks. The manager came over and abruptly took the plates away. Hysterical!! Not!! We were still eating our fries! I ordered the Little Marie and the sauce was like water! As for the bill, creative accounting is not the same as a credit (adjusting salad prices) Sorry Snakebite... Looks like more customers will be lost over this.

Last weekend I went to celebrate Valentine's day with my husband. I ordered salmon sandwich and I liked it a lot except it was a little but cold, my fries were also cold. My husband ordered grand teton hamburger and it was amazing, his frieswere hot. We ordered a chocolate cake and it was delicious. We waited for more than half hours to be served.

I went here for my anniversary, the service was okay and the food was flavorful but my husbands steak was over cooked and my fish tacos were also a little dry. It was a busy Saturday night so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt! Will defiantly try again, but maybe on a slower night

My favorite restaurant in Idaho Falls. I have been coming here since I was a child and Snake Bite never fails to deliver a delicious meal. I prioritize a visit to Snake Bite whenever I return home. Bring cash and an empty stomach. You wont be disappointed. Highly recommend the Snake River Burger with cheddar cheese and bacon added on top with a side of waffle fries.

Food was amazing! All the ingredients are fresh and of good quality ingredients! My boyfriend and I had chicken sandwiches. Both were juicy and hot. Nice little stop in our travels

I’m giving this a 2 star only because of location. I was expecting so much more because of the rating. Poor service from staff. Food is generic pub food. You will not be able to make substitutions or deletions. My wife wanted to have the lettuce removed, but was told that she could not do that. So when i ordered a knee not to ask to have the onions removed. However, the table next to us was able to special order their food. Be consistent! Either you can have a special order, or no one get a special order. You will need to beg for a drink menu. It will not be provided. Fry sauce will cost you extra and you wil almost feel threatened if you don’t order it. I won’t return and I hope you don’t either.

One of the most awful service experiences ever. Food wasn’t good, the smell made me sick as I am expecting, and when I told our server, he got the manager who said unless they made it wrong, they wouldn’t take it off the bill but that I could pay for another meal if I wanted something else that I would be able to eat and enjoy. Our table continued to be neglected the rest of the night. I will never recommend Snake Bite to others because of this incredibly poor service and mediocre food, at best.

Classic bar food type joint. Salads looked good, but my burger patty seemed to be of the premade, frozen variety - as did the cross-cut fries. Service was good, though drink refills were a little too plentiful, if anything.

It has good Vegan options, so that's a huge plus. I love the atmosphere and the people who work there.
