Dutch Goose is a really fun bar! They have a wide selection of beer and a few ciders if you are gluten free. The food was very tasty and well. I had the finger steaks which were a great comfort food! They have a lot of large tables inside if you plan on meeting up with a lot of friends. They also have pool and darts. The outdoor patio is very pleasant and shaded. It was nice even during the hot weather. All of the staff there is very polite and helpful. Alyssa was especially great!

Disappointing remodel/reconfiguration of the business model- I'm not sure what the thought process was behind attempting to move upmarket with higher prices and table service, but I don't think the building itself in the neighborhood it is in will attract that upmarket clientele anytime soon even with a fresh coat of paint. As it is, longtime customers now pay more for slower service, limiting this place's utility as a good, fast, affordable lunch spot/place to grab beers after work.

Don't judge a book by the cover! The outside looks rough but the inside is updated and they serve great food. I wasn't aware it was kid friendly so it made it a little awkward to sit around and have a few drink with kids running around.

We have been going here regularly for fifteen years to play foosball. We have had many great experiences in this venue. Unfortunately the took the foosball tables out and rumor has after the remodel is complete they will no longer have foosball. We are very disappointed. Enough so that we probably won't frequent this place very often ever again. We made a lot of friends here over the years. I am grateful for that. Its the end of an era for us.

The Goose used to be my absolute favorite bar/hangout spot for years. Had amazing food and prices and was the best place to catch a good game or hang out with friends. The remodel and addition of a wait staff was a poor choice that ruined the appeal of the Goose in the first place. Being able to seat yourself, grab a drink/pitcher/food at the bar, be served quickly on the cheap, and relax was the appeal. The remodel may have been a gamble but unfortunately it comes off as a half-hearted attempt to be like literally any other bar/grill within a 15 mile radius, without anything unique to offer aside from their great fries. And they got rid of tots! I’ll miss the old goose.

Don't let the scary outside appearance of the Dutch Goose discourage you from the delicious food and fun games here. Kids are welcome here and there are a few arcade games to keep them busy. There are also two foosball tables, a pool table, and a dart board. The goose is great. Come here. Order the fries.

We are in walking distance to the goose and now we do what we can to avoid it. The only thing they needed to add was another register, a new ceiling, and new bathrooms. Instead they get rid of foosball, place the TVs in bad spots, and raised prices. Yet another regular lost..

I don’t do reviews but I Loved the old Goose... went at least weekly. The new remodel is so not what Boise needs... especially now. Higher prices, much slower service... the place was always lively and full of happy patrons, now it is almost empty...I will not be going back, and it hurts I have been a regular for 10 years.

The food was good, definitely greasy but good, and the prices are fair. There's quite a bit in the entertainment here, like foosball, arcades, even a horseshoe deal outside. It's nothing fancy but if you don't mind the rougher, old-school feel this is a great place for lunch with family.

My husband and I have always enjoyed going to the Dutch Goose for finger steaks. Tonight however while the food was good the music on the other hand was a whole different story. Foul is the nicest thing I could say about it. We had to finally leave. They played a band called twisted, several songs on a row. Had to look it up to find out who it was. Nothing about that band is family friendly folks. It's disturbing at best. Time to look over the music you offer in your machine if you want to call yourself a family restaurant. Unfortunately we have to find a new favorite place for figure steaks

Our first time back since the remodel, everything was good. The food was abundant and tasty, the service was great, and the price was reasonable. 3 people enjoyed an appetizer, full meals, and multiple beers, the total with the tip included was a little over $50. We will be back for more!

They remodeled awhile ago here and the atmosphere is great! The food is somewhat inconsistent but mostly enjoyable. Nice choice of beers on tap and they usually have sports on the TVs. They also have a juke box and Golden Tee. I give it a 3/5 because the service is not great and I have been overcharged twice.

The Goose used to be a staple for our family every week. Sometimes more. Since the remodel it at best is no stars. We gave it a last chance today because of the history. My kids used to get excited to go to the Goose. Not anymore. Food quality is less than Mcdonald’s at best. It is sad that today was the same. Rubber food is best way to describe the food. We are done with the Goose. Sorry Tom wanted to support you but cannot do it anymore.

I was almost a daily customer before the remodel. I have been back a handful of times since the remodel and each time has been more disappointing than the last. I am currently sitting and writing this review in the Goose and haven’t even been greeted by an employee and it has been at least 5 minutes. The best part of this place was being able to previously walk in and immediately order a beer and food. Now I sit and wait for who knows how long before even getting greeted. The remodel looks okay, but overall awkward TV placement and seating. The service model is horrendous now compared to what it was. I am now finished with this review and haven’t been greeted yet. Will not be coming back here again unless I am forced to, I have given this place too many second chances now. And for Pete’s Peppers, please for the love of god GET A BEER MENU. I can’t believe that the owner has not taken any of the feedback to heart from the countless 1 star reviews. Turn this ship around while you have a chance: Bring back the old service model, get a beer menu, and rearrange the seating so people can actually see the TV’s and this place might stand a chance.

It was excellent! We had a large group of 19 people ages 22-82 celebrating a 65th birthday - we ordered 1/2 dozen+ appetizers, sodas, ice teas, 2-3 dozen domestic beers & micro brews, along with everyone ordered their own separate dinners from the menu on 9 separate tickets during a 3 hour period and I have to say the young lady that waited on us was excellent- her customer service was the best I've had anywhere in the last 4-5 months on the valley, and we eat out a lot from $$-$$$ weekly, the food was all served hot, and everyone raved about their dinners- hot, fresh, crispy, fresh fries, onion rings, burgers, finger steaks, shrimp, salads, halibut fish & chips, etc.! Everything was excellent! The service was definitely a step above! 20%+ tip

This really really bums me out to do but since the remodel this place has gone down hill. You would think it would be the opposite...waited an hour and a half after ordering a few sandwiches and decided to leave. This used to be a favorite spot of ours but to wait an hour and a half for a club sandwich is insane. I hope they get it together soon.

I've been there a couple times on Friday night to try their specials. The first time I went I had their halibut fish fry and it was fantastic and the service was great. The second time I went, I went for their prime rib special they do on Fridays. This experience wasn't so good. I was told that one of the cooks suddenly left and it took over 50 minutes for me to get my order. The bartender wanted to make it right and offered me a free beer because of the long wait. Additionally I asked for medium rare and what came out was medium well. I think I must probably got the last piece of prime rib because I heard somebody order it shortly after I got mine and they were told it was all gone. I will go back. I'm not the kind of person to judge based on one not so good experience. I've heard their burgers are also fantastic so that will be the next thing I try on my next visit. And it goes without saying, they always have a great selection of microbrews on tap and at great prices especially during their happy hour.

I'm torn about this place! I absolutely love it, I've had good times and bad times here. I'd like to own it and fix it up but then it wouldn't be the divey Dutch Goose that I've been going to for decades. Food is delicious, drinks are cheap, and the bathrooms are atrocious! One time I got smashed and caught a baby raccoon....one time I saw a cook not wash his hands after pissing.

Remodeling looks great! Food was awesome. I would recommend that the coreten ceiling panels be addressed. They rust and the rust drops on the tables. That rust will drop in the food.

Ive gone to Dutch Goose for years. Great food. Until today. I have never, never walked away from a meal. But today i did it not once, but twice. I ordered finger steaks and they were absolutely awful!! Sent them back and still couldnt eat what they sent. Worst meal ive ever had. When I asked to talk to the kitchen manager i was met with attitude and dirty looks from the rest of the staff. I will never go back. Gross and bad service!!!

Great place for a casual, easy dinner with friends or family. We have yet to have a bad meal here, all the food seems to be scratch made to order. I would highly recommend the Dutch Goose and don't let the appearance from the outside fool you. It may look like another dive bar when you drive by but the the staff are very friendly, the food is excellent and it is very family friendly during regular hours. Definitely try the chicken strips or finger steaks both are the best of Boise.

We went in on Sunday, 6/2/19 around noonish. There were 4 other tables occupied...not busy at all. We sat outside and had wait staff walk right by us without ever bringing menus. Finally had to go up and ask the 2 waitresses talking at the bar for menus. After sitting another 10 minutes without any wait staff coming over even though they brought food out to others on the patio, we finally just left. This was so disappointing. We used to LOVE going to the Dutch Goose. The Tuesday night buy one get one was one of our favorite family times. After we left we ended up going down the street to Burgers and Brew where we were seated, waited on immediately with a very friendly staff and had great food. Skip Dutch Goose...it is definitely NOT the same as before. So sad. :(
