I used to love this place. Just ate there. Enjoying my time on the toilet. They let their food sit there all day. When a new dish comes out tgey scrape tge old one into the new one. Giving the food the potential of sitting there all day. I couldnt eat half the food on my plate. The kicker was i didnt mention it. But the waitress new it was bad. So they know. Its not an accident. Not eating here ever again. I recommend you dont either. Unless youblije food poisoning

Food at the Boise location is not fresh. It looks and tastes like it's been there for hours. Will not be going back to that location anymore! The new location in Nampa on the other hand is always fresh an delicious. Don't know how the same restaurant could be so different!

I went to City Buffet in Boise with my husband. Food was all right, though it wasn't a variety as we thought. The commercial made it seem like there would be food from around the world, but it was just simple Asian dishes with American choices like fries and onion rings. I honestly would have preferred to be at Panda Express where the choices have more flavor and is filling. Then we went for dessert, which was awful. It turned out they only offered coconut and coffee flavors. The bread cookie thing was the only dessert worth eating. I also wasn't pleased they sat us in a booth directly next to the kitchen doorway. Notice I say "doorway" and not "door". It had no door. I could see right inside if I turned around. It wasn't like they were full and couldn't place us somewhere better, but I ignored it because it was a buffet and not a regular restaurant and I didn't want to complain. But then the staff would just stand there and make eating and talking awkward. I don't plan to go back.

My family and I have been going there since it opened and have had a great experience until the young man upfront started working there. He is stuck up and every time we go there he makes us feel very unwelcome and is very rude. He expects us to just follow him and doesn't ask what we want to drink sometimes. I think he ruins the experience for many and I think they need a new person to fill his position.

Food in most cases is absolutely fantastic and the staff are almost always there to help you. They are willing to listen to concerns and do their best to help you in most cases. Thou as with any buffet i do suggest not eating whats left of the buffet portion as it may not be as fresh. If the food is not super hot, dont eat it. And request a fresh batch to the staff. But over all the food was great. Would glad come back again

It's pretty good for a buffet. Food quality is generally consistent and they have a good selection. They do have sushi and ice cream as well as a fruit and dessert bar. It can get busy but I've never had to wait for a table here. Good place for big groups and kids.

It was my first time here after googling Chinese restaurants. Came with friends while visiting mutuals in ID. Overall it was a great experience. The food was great and my friends and I love Asian food; especially Chinese dishes. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and the staff was very nice and friendly; was greeted right away. Definitely coming back when I visit ID again.

Found a hair and a bug in our food. We complained to the manager wanting a refund which, didn't happen. The quality was very poor and the soup and a bad smell to it. The staff stand around watching you which, can make eating uncomfortable.

Good buffet. Lots of choices. Good service. Most of the stuff has become battered and fried which is kind of a bummer, but they are catering to the masses so I understand. They don't get 5 stars anymore because they've substituted dungeness crab for actual crab legs. Probably due to the greedy people who would load up plateful upon plateful without taking anyone else into consideration. Typical 'all about me' mentality many seem to possess now days.

The one positive thing I can say about this place is that it was clean; unlike most buffets. Local Chinese buffets are known to be disgustingly dirty, but not this one. Even the bathroom was clean. The food wasn't great. Almost all dishes were floating in sauce; sauce overload. The price was off; Over $60.00 for two adults and 3 young kids; not worth it.

Outstanding Asian buffet. Me and my lovely Filipina wife absolutely loved it. We discovered this little gem on our visit to Boise. This was by far one of the best Asian buffets we have been to in years. Staff was friendly, quality food.

I did not have high expectations going in despite the positive reviews I saw before hand. I've never been truly impressed by any Chinese buffet but I enjoyed the food here and will go back! They have a large selection of food & veggies and a smaller selection of desserts including a chocolate fountain. The ONLY thing I'd be happy to see different next time is if they could put all of the shellfish (crab, shrimp, clams, mussels, etc) in one area instead of sporadically placed with the rest of the food. There were about 8 - 10 buffet stations and each of them had 1-4 shellfish dishes. My other half has a shellfish allergy and was nervous eating the foods near any of those dishes. Still really impressed and excited this place is so close to my house.

The racism my family and I experienced at this restaurant was unbelievable. The waitress stood at our table the entire time we ate. We were not able to pay at the front like the regular customers. We were racially profiled, followed around the buffet and followed to the bathroom. We couldn't even get up together as a family, we were forced to walk around in groups by the staff. We later asked for to go plates and the waitress waited for us to get our plates, took them from us to ring up our food as we waited at our table. The overall experience was ruined by the racism and I'm sad that in 2018, I had to have a talk with my son to explain how and why we were treated like second class citizens. We will remain going to Kyoto's were they treat everyone fairly. We do not pay for racism, we do not tip racism. They lost our business.

Just meh... Not horrible, so I wouldn't say two stars but barely worth the 3. Food seems old even though they just brought it out. There are better buffets in town. They do have a few signature items that aren't elsewhere, but we are leaving today wishing we went to our usual spot.

Finding worthy Chinese buffets can be tricky, but this one's a winner! It has a great mix of American classics, more traditional Chinese cuisine, to-order stir fry, and sushi of fairly high quality. Don't forget to sample their dim sum offerings too, one of my favorites. It was pretty crowded, but there was plenty of food to go around. I wanted to sample it all, but there was too much! Also, I was impressed with their diverse offerings of seafood.

This place is no bueno. I came here for the first time because of all the hoot and rave it got. Food wasn't hot. Staff was rude and standoff. The only food i enjoyed was the deep fried donut which that was surprisingly warm! Not for me, but try at your own risk!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I looked at prices online and they have it listed as 7.25 for lunch and 10.25 for dinner, I went in and saw that lunch was 8.95 and dinner was 11.95! So prices were already listed wrong. I went ahead and still decided to try their food because I had already drove all the way there. I was super disappointing by there selection, it is super tiny compared to other buffets I have been too. Not to mention almost all the food that my mom and I got was so cold, like it hadn't even been warmed up. After my mom and I ate half of our plates. We both got one plate each and only ate half we decided that this place was not worth 24 dollars. We went up to the manager and complained that we didn't like the food and that we both had eaten barely anything. She said Okay and left, we sat at our table for 5 minutes waiting. Finally our waitress came back with the ticket and it was 22 dollars! I went back up to the manager and explained to her that we ate pretty much nothing, and that we had probably been there a total of 10 minutes. She said okay how much do you want to pay and I told her I didn't want to pay for my food because it wasn't good, it was cold, and we ate barely anything. She ended up still charging me 14 dollars and waved her hands in my face telling me to pretty much get out. I will never go here again, China Grande Buffet has always had the best selection and is a super reasonable price for how much food they have. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Surprisingly delicious! I'm on a Ketogenic diet and I had a ton of stuff to choose from. Their Mongolian grill is really good. The price is reasonable, but the you beer is kind of high for the Chinese brands. I would definitely return if I lived close by.

Before we went i called and asked how much dinner was we get our bill and it was different then quoted i talked to manager and she says yes we raised prices today i said i called 2 hours ago and she did give us the price i was quoted over the phone over all we were all disappointed in the food. We came in at 8:00 PM--a party of 3--and were immediately led to a seating area. On the way their, our hostess got into a heated discussion in another language and left us floating. It was awkward. After being seated and given our drinks, we went to the buffet. About 2/3 of everything had expired and was hard. The food that didn't look expired was overcooked. Definitely won't be back for the price. You're better off at the Chinese Grand Buffet on Fairview!!

You cant go wrong eating here. There is something for everyone. Picky eaters or adventurous eaters are both to be pleased by their 4 large buffet islands. They also have a sushi bar, Mongolian style bar, desert bar, soft serve and hard ice cream too! If you love seafood this is the place to come.

Outstanding!! If you like this kind of food this place is a ten out of 10! The staff are very friendly and very attentive and helpful. All the food was prepared very fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious. Of course I loved the chocolate fountain. You can't beat the dinner all you can eat buffet cost. If you've had a bad day ask for server Joanna. She is a delight and very pleasant.

They have a large food selection. It appears clean. They have a fresh fruit bar, American food bar and a salad bar. The layout is efficient and the staff are nice. The food seems more fresh than most Chinese buffet. However you can tell they still dump old food, sitting in the warmer, on top of the new fresh food. I have been disappointed the last few times I went. Mostly due to cost vs quality. I cant speak to the quality of the seafood, I do not like seafood. I think its offered during dinner and all day on the weekends. The American food bar is ok, good for kids. The salad bar is ok. I wouldn't count on it to fill you up if you're vegetarian. As far as price. Their lunch prices, I feel are worth the expense. Their dinner/weekend prices tend to not be worth the trip to me. I do think, if you're someone who likes seafood you could probably get your money's worth. I gave 4 stars simply because it is the better quality Chinese buffet, they do have a large food selection, it appears clean, the staff are nice and the price isn't too bad.
