This Restaurant is classified in the category of Indian restaurant.
Best chef around. He is a master of northern Indiana cusiane and the food is amazing. Great owner and staff. It's hard opening a new restaurant and they are doing great so far. Highly recommend. Try them meatballs so good
Fantastic food. Great service.
Give it time...and be patient if you go before grand opening... Positives - the food was delicious. The walnut salad that accompanied the main course was unique and tasty. The Rogan Josh (lamb dish) was flavorful. The rice complimented the dish. The owner was a sweetheart and interested in feedback. Presentation of the meals was excellent. The layout of the bar and the restaurant hint at an upscale experience which will be lovely in the evening. Negatives - the wait staff was not ready for this cold open. My waitress took my order and then did not check on me again, which was a period of 30+ minutes. While the staffing seemed sufficient for the time of day, people were still figuring out their roles. A table that left 10-15 minutes before I did wasn’t bussed. It appeared that only one waitress knew how to use the credit card application as she checked on me and told me she would process my card for me when I was ready to go. The only sore spot I have is that the waitress that didn’t check on me for 30+ minutes thought that I left without paying and another wait staff chased me down the street to ask if I paid, which required me to return to the restaurant. So clearly some poor communication amongst the staff as they work out the kinks, and particularly so for the one waitress. I look forward to returning in a couple of weeks.
Lovely food and a wonderful server. I had the chicken tikka masala and it was perfect. Don't forget to try the cardamom ice cream, it is divine!
Great food and atmosphere!
I really enjoyed my experience here. The food was good, staff was super knowledgeable and helpful, and the ambiance was great! I will be returning and adding this restaurant into my normal rotation!
Elegant atmosphere. Reasonable prices. I had the special which was trout. Fresh spices and nicely plated.
The restaurant has been newly remodeled and is beautiful! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Finished off a fabulous meal of Chicken Masala and Cucumber Onion salad with a scoop of cardamom ice cream. Everything was wonderful. Can’t wait to see what the dinner menu will bring.
While the restaurant was beautiful and the staff wonderful the food was the worst Indian food I've ever had. The naan tasted like it was reheated from yesterday, cold and tough to chew. The chicken tikka masala was a pale creamy color which was the first clue something was off. You couldn't taste any tomato base to it and it was bland and flavorless. The sauce was also broken and curdled, the chicken mealy with a strange texture. I couldn't finish my meal it was so off-putting. I was so excited about a more authentic Indian restaurant in town but this looked nor tasted like anything I have had before, in a very bad way.
The flavors are perfectly balanced! The food and service were absolutely wonderful!
Ordered today from door dash, first of all the presentation was nice, good size chunks of chicken and even included a little side salad (wasn’t listed so nice little surprise) food seemed fresh made, but sadly the praise ends there. The chicken tiki masala was... well bland to say the least, asked for spicy and it had no heat. (3rd party ordering service might not have communicated that I understand) one of my favorite Indian dishes I’ve had my fair share from multiple different Indian restaurants, this one was very much lacking in the taste I have come to expect from Indian cooking; very disappointing. Garlic Naan had almost no garlic flavor and didn’t get much for the price. Over all there are better Indian restaurants in IF with a similar price point. I might try this place again if I dined in cause maybe the spice would make the difference. For $15 it wasn’t all that filling and simply leaves me wanting for a better chicken tiki masala.
This is exactly the kind of restaurant I hope we continue to see develop in Idaho Falls. A concise menu showcasing a specific cuisine, use of fresh ingredients, a relaxed atmosphere, and a great price to portion size ratio. The butter chicken and tikka masala were delicious, and they have kofta kebabs! I'm excited to go back.
Excellent food. Excellent friendly service.
I'm not going to play a food critic and judge the staff, food presentation, etc., especially since they just opened and will work out the kinks. I will say the owner is very kind and asked how she can make everything better. I loved the food. It is definitely a different flavor than what you get at Tandoori Oven on the other side of town. The ingredients are fresh, which makes everything better. The menu isn't loaded with options, but that doesn't bother me - if anything it makes choosing my food easier. I left full, but not Chuck O' Rama full, if you know what I mean. I look forward to returning after their grand opening next month.
Limited choices in Buffet, slow service. Great ambience though!
Great food, stylish plating and atmosphere. Comparable to the Indian food I’ve had living overseas but presented more elegantly. This is a great addition to Idaho Falls. I hope we can keep them in business for a long time.
Customer service was outstanding! Food authentic! Will return
The Cardamom ice cream is to die for! So excited to see this restaurant grow!
I've been here twice now and have unfortunately been disappointed each time. The food has either been far too spicy for the spice level asked (in this latest case, "medium" was what I asked for on the butter chicken, and what I got was so spicy that my lips and tongue felt like they were on fire) or so bland as to have hardly any flavor at all (especially in the case of the rogan josh, which instead of being red and full of flavor has the coloring of beef stew and hardly tastes like anything at all). The texture of the meat, whether chicken or lamb, is surprisingly mealy and very overcooked. The cucumber and onion salad is really tasty and the garlic naan is good, though very small. I have no complaints about the service or ambience - it's a beautiful restaurant in a great location with friendly, helpful staff. I just wish the entrees were fresher and more flavorful! I've had high hopes for this place since it opened, since I enjoy the Indian food at Tandoori Oven so much and was hoping to gain an alternate Indian food experience in town that was just as pleasant, but unfortunately after this latest letdown I don't think I'll be back.
Ambience was amazing!! Everything was very well presented! Food was delicious and very authentic!! Highly recommend!
Great service and amazing food in an upscale environment. So glad to have something like this in Idaho Falls!
Really amazing food and equally amazing service.
Yummy food, clean restaurant, nice staff and owner. The walnut salad was great and so were the lamb dishes my husband and I shared. Excited to see what the bigger menu will offer in a few weeks.
I absolutely love this restaurant and I was so happy to be able to get good Indian food in Idaho <3
I’m a foodie so you can trust me. Just go to Tandoori. I’ve gone to both and there is truly a superior Indian food place for Idaho Falls. The only spice in the food tasted like a hint of cayenne. The paneer naan (their house-made cheese infused naan) tasted like a naan quesadilla, and it was actually quite good. The mango lassi was good too, just not as good as I’ve had at other places.
The lunch buffet is dadgum fantastic
Beautiful restaurant, excellent authentic food, and friendly staff! Fantastic dinner!
Hits 5 stars for the food, service and atmosphere. If you like Indian food, you will not be disappointed!
The food both looks and tastes amazing and the wait staff does a fantastic job. A clean quiet restaurant that is beautifully decorated. Don’t ask what your partner wants for dinner, take them here!
Portions a bit small for the price. Good food but not great.
The service and food was good. Shari (not sure on spelling) was awesome! The naan was a little too toasted and I wouldn't recommend the tikka masala, it was okay but only ok. However the butter chicken was wonderfully delicious.
We really enjoy Cardamom. They stick to traditional Indian recipes and cuisine. If you're not familiar with different Indian food, I highly recommend the sitdown lunch buffet. They will bring you whatever you would like from their buffet and make recommendations based on your likes. We love the service and enjoy conversing with them about the different flavors and which dishes contain locally sourced ingredients.
Worst experience of any restaurant in Idaho falls. Stopped in for lunch and was told it was a buffet which sounded like a good opportunity to try different offerings. After ordering our beer and water we seriously waited about 25 minutes for them to bring an appetizer followed by a salad. There was seriously about 10 people dining there and the slowest service ever. Never got to try the buffet as we left after waiting 45 minutes for real food. Was told they were waiting on the appetizers so they will be fresh which was fine but then 45 minutes later and they were making fresh chicken now. This place is very disappointing and there is no way we would ever try it again.
We loved the service and food was amazing. The menu is limited, but it has a taste of everything you would want from an Indian restaurant. There are Vegetarian options, some Indian drinks, and the dishes you'd expect to see. The naan is delicious. Decor and atmosphere are lacking, but the restaurant is clean.
The food was superb, with a home cooked touch though served in very elegant surroundings. I had the almond and pistachio no churn ice cream for dessert. It was simply divine! An excellent restaurant by any standard.
Beautiful decor, warm and inviting atmosphere, friendly service, and INCREDIBLE cuisine! I will definitely be returning! =D
Try some vegetarian fare from India. That's my recommend.
Authentic, delicious, delicately flavored food. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. I don't know why this restaurant isn't full. We will definitely come back again to Cardamom. The salads were made with fresh local vegies! Wow. My husband and I shared the butter chicken and the spinach potato dish. The cilantro sauce was a nice garnish. and so much more nicenice
Very disappointed... Waited long to get table...We went to have buffet but their idea of buffet is different... They were serving us which was taking long instead of “buffet”... We wanted to have whatever we want in “buffet”... the rice was hard to eat.. was burnt and stale...
Great environment, very clean and organized. I had the lamb chops and they were spectacular! Very robust flavor and perfectly crusted and cooked! I didn't care too much for the mint sauce or the tamarind sauce, however, the lamb did not need any help. It was perfect on its own. My wife ordered the Chicken Korma which was far more mild than any other Korma I've ever had, but still good. Very good rice and exceptional service! We will definitely be returning.
My partner and I celebrated our one year anniversary last night at Cardamom. It was very good! The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was friendly. We even tried both deserts- delicious! We will be back!
Delicious food, upscale atmosphere, friendly service. I had a fantastic experience at Cardamom
Excellent Indian food, friendly staff
Super good food, great service. I can't wait to see this place grow and see what else they add to the menu.
Wonderful and amazing find! You won't believe how good this Indian food really is!!!
We had a great meal. The restaurant has a fine dining feel, but prices are reasonable. I was surprised by the dessert options- everything we tried was delicious. Will return!
I had a wonderful experience. Don't expect your typical Indian food, it's much better. I highly recommend the almond pistachio ice cream for dessert.
What a fantastic meal in a beautiful place! Delicious food and excellent service! I can't decide if the Butter Chicken or the Paneer is my favorite. Will definitely be back!
We love this place. I love the small atmosphere and very kind staff the food is fantastic owners are a delight, kind and always go out of their way to please. I say if it looks good smells good eat it! I have to say my tummy loves me after one of these meals.
I approve!
Good place if you have time for a relaxing lunch.
Came today for lunch with some coworkers and we were all pleasantly surprised. I was excited to see we were getting another Indian restaurant in town and Cardomom did not disappoint. Everything about it was amazing. Great location and atmosphere. Service was friendly and of course the food hit the spot. Will be back for sure!
What a pleasant surprise to find a Kashmiri Indian Fusion restaurant in Idaho. We went here on our way back from Yellowstone. Food was very delicious and if you are passing through or Visiting Idaho, this is the place to eat. Wonderful Service. Friendly owner and staff. Loved it!!!
1. New appetizer (some kind of fried cheese chunks)
Went right after they opened. Great food.but I feel its over priced, everything you order is extra. Service was good, meals came scattered, there were three of us. Might try again.
Lunch buffet was $15- too much for lunch. Lunch special at Tandoori oven is only $10. Will not go back for lunch.
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and the staff were fairly attentive. My husband and I ordered the tikka masala as well as lamb kebabs. We had initially planned to order the buttered chicken, but upon double checking with the waiter, were told it had cashews in it. I was frustrated to hear this as I have a severe cashew allergy and they were not noted as being an ingredient in the buttered chicken, but were listed as being an ingredient in other dishes. This to me is inconsistent and inconsiderate of customers. The lamb was fairly good, but the tikka masala was rather bland and the chicken over cooked. We also ordered naan and that was fairly good. The menu had noted plates were a bit smaller, but based on the pricing and quality of food, I would say we did not get our moneys worth.
Loved the food and atmosphere. All very good!
Nice, quiet space. Food was superb, a "made at home" feel rather than a restaurant dish. Definitely going again!
Seriously, this place was delicious! I ate the Tikka Marsala and it was very good. I left feeling very full and satisfied. Good job Cardamom.
Delicious Indian food. Had kofta kebabs with basmati rice, perfect spice level. Naan was really good, and the saffron salad dressing is delightful.
Great food in a clean and classy atmosphere. Friendly and quick staff as well.
Excellent food with options for both vegetarians and vegans. Friendly and professional staff. Excellent presentation. Very worthwhile.
The restaurant is very clean and very nice. The server who helped me with takeout was great. However, the food was not very good, it was just okay. Packaging was very nice but the flavor just wasn’t great for Indian food. Tough chicken and the garlic naan was not flavorful. The three stars is for the food.
Service was great, but this is not really Indian food.... Bland food, the chicken tiki masala was like tomato soup, and the butter chicken was chicken soup. The portions are very small. The naan was small and more like pita bread. I don't think they use a tandoori oven... I don't like giving bad reviews, especially at a newly opened place, but it was a huge disappointment.
The lunch buffet was amazing! High quality food, piping hot, great service! A hidden gem in downtown Idaho Falls for sure! From noon to 2pm and is $15... Eat all you can on the chicken, Naan bread and their appitizers like the ground lamb stuffed peppers!! Very good! Highly recommended!
Wow the flavors here!!! This Indian restaurant is so yummy!! I highly recommend it!! The flavors are infused layer upon layer. The Chicken was super tender.
Amazing. Simply amazing!!! My tongue hasn't been this happy in far too long. Can't wait to go back.
If I could give zero star, I would do that!! Horrible food with extreme price!!!
I ordered Paneer Palak. I am a really bad cook but this dish was the worst thing I have ever tasted in the name of Paneer Palak. They wrote on the menu that paneer will be homemade. But it was literally some kind of synthetic tofu! Also, the palak was watery as if it wasn’t cooked enough. Two stars because of the atmosphere & friendly staff.
Food is great !! Great food !! Keep up the great work Shiba !!!
Service was great, the waitress was very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is also done very well. They did a fantastic job remodeling the place. The food was ok. Very nice presentation, and everything was cooked perfectly. But like others have said, small portions, and definitely lacking in the flavor department. Which really has me scratching my head. Indian food is heavily spiced. I don't know how you end up with bland Indian food, unless you're trying to cut corners somewhere. Even just a little salt would have made my Lamb Palak much better. The prices are comparable to Tandoori Oven, but TO's food is incredibly flavorful and the portions are huge. I'll definitely go back to Cardamom, cause I feel like they have the potential to be a great addition to the downtown area. I just hope they're listening to the feedback and making an effort to do better.
You definitely pay for the atmosphere here. The food is decent, but certainly not worth $20 a plate. It is truly a shame when the vegetarian potato and spinach plate upstages the slow-roasted lamb special. Maybe the lunch buffet is worth it, but I won't be returning to find out. When I feel a hankering for authentic Asian cuisine, I go to Krung Thep Thai Cuisine. They are expensive as well, but absolutely amazing.
The chicken tikka masala was bland and watery. My husband's dish was also very bland, but the chicken was tender. I gave two stars because it has a nice atmosphere and good staff, but the food sucks.
We were really excited that we were getting another Indian restaurant, so we went over to enjoy a curry, What a huge disappointment it looked and felt like an empty shell needing some attention no atmosphere what so ever, 6 entrees on the menu, we were told that they had no curry dishes and most of the meat is a mix of lamb and beef which never tastes good in my opinion. and seems deeply offensive to Indias traditions and beliefs. so in short it's not worth trying.
The food was presented beautifully, you almost feel bad eating it, but it's so delicious that you don't regret it. The restaurant is very nice, the environment quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. 11/10 easy!!
Lunch buffet worth the money, lots of new flavors, lots of food, great service
We had a great experience here-the staff was great and the food was amazing. I will definitely be coming back here and telling all of my friends about it in the meantime!
The food was ok. The service was very slow. Besides the intermittent Indian music and one Indian chandler, the theme is very Americanized.
Loved this restaurant. Very elegant and nicely decorated. Wait staff was kind and attentive. And of course, most importantly, the food was delicious! I had the daal, and it was perfectly spiced. I will definitely be coming back! So glad to have this new addition to the list of IF restaurants!
Really good food, really enjoyed my meal, a pleasant atmosphere. The service was very professional.
From beginning to end, this was a fabulous experience! The staff were attentive, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect! I loved the lamb! It was tender and the sauce was delicious. I'm not an expert on Indian food, but this place makes me want to try more!
The food tasted amazing. The service was fine. The portion sizes were comically, ridiculously tiny. Listen Cardamom, you can't charge $14 for a 1/2 cup of food (excluding rice). That is right. The entree consisted of about 1/2 cup of actual food. I left feeling hungry and overcharged. You will not make it unless you find a way to charge less or serve more. This would have been a five star review if I had been served a meal.
Over priced and poor quality food. Quantity is so less for every item on their menu for the price you will be paying. Visited first and last time.
Great place to eat .staff is friendly clean environment. Food is really good.
I loved this place. It doesn't bother me that the menu is small - that just means they specialize in a few things and do them well. This is not "box" Indian food - ingredients are fresh and sauces are clearly made from scratch. The garlic on the cucumber salad was so good! And dinner was so reasonable! $12-$13 entrees including salad and rice! We went there on a slow Wednesday night, but our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Will definitely return when we're back in the area.
We decided to eat lunch here and found out that they have all you can eat lunch buffet and they serve it to you tableside!! You got an appetizer, salad, entrees, and dessert. It was so delicious! It's definitely a hidden gem downtown! Everything was so yummy!
Not very flavorful. Very limited menu. Not impressed with the food. That staff was fantastic
The ambience, the people are very good. 5 stars for service, ambience, friendliness. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the food is not really made in authentic Indian style. Having said that the food does not taste bad. They will give you salad and rice complimentary with every entree. We ordered Paneer dipped in cilantro and tomato...and that's exactly what we got. So, they are not not trying to deceive. It's just that their style of cooking is different from a traiditional style of Indian cooking. Overall, great experience. Do visit them with correct experience. It felt to me that it is an Indian restaurant run by an american.
They had really good food the people are most pretty nice but you had to keep asking and asking and asking for hot sauce they had good food
Smoke & Mirrors, Very Bland! Love Indian food and this place looked great on the reviews. We entered the restaurant and I was impressed with the decor and look of the place. We were greeted warmly and staff were pleasant. However the food was mediocre at best,I've had better tasting butter chicken from the freezer section of the grocery store. One of the specials was a lamb dish that I thought was closer to a Bland Mexican chili verde then Indian food. I had to ask for salt and pepper to even eat this dish. The worst part was when I asked how big the naan bread was, the waiter provided a description of a decent size piece of naan and he said you would get two of those. However what I received was a medium sized piece of naan cut in half. I cannot recommend this restaurant. The photo I have attached of the salt and pepper shakers represents the portion sizes that you'll receive at this restaurant.
Cardamom let me host a baby shower for 20 here, and it turned out BEAUTIFUL! They were so easy to work with, the menu was great and the service was amazing. They even stayed open later when the party ran over. All the food came out hot and delicious. Would recommend 10/10 .
I want this place to make it, so I hope they’ll take this soft opening time to rethink a few things. We had a new server who was very nice, but interrupted our meal with the bill asking how we wanted to pay. Please don’t be like the other restaurants in town who throw the check down before you’re done eating! The bigger issue tonight was actually, uh .. smaller. As someone else said, the portion sizes are comically small. I got a vegetarian “entree” which was probably 1/2 cup of cauliflower and peas. In the American culture of too-big serving sizes, I’m fine with slightly smaller, but this was ridiculous. The food itself was ok and maybe has potential. Restaurant is nicely remodelled and has cloth napkins and a nice atmosphere. I hope they’ll add to their very limited menu (no naan available yet, which is weird at an Indian restaurant).
Food is excellent! Staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment!
Fantastic food and service. Can't wait to try their dinner menu.
Meh. The atmosphere was nice, staff was pleasant. I love Indian food, but I'm not a fan of this place. The portions are really, really tiny for the price you pay. Their menu is extremely limited. They don't have nearly the selection a normal Indian restaurant does.
Nice place
Honestly I was really happy visiting Cardamom. Not too far from my workplace. Also we needed an Indian restaurant around Idaho Falls. Couple of things I would like to mention: 1. The place is nicely decorated. They tried their best to give a great Indian Kashmiri look. 2. Five Star for neat and cleanliness. 3. They don’t have enough menu choices in terms of other restaurants. Maybe because they are new into this space. So I’ll definitely wait for their menu updates. 4. The food was pretty delicious. Not spicy like real Indian food. So I liked it. 5. The service is pretty slow. Which is disappointing. If you go out for a lunch it will take about 45 minutes to hour. 6. They need some professional worker. Or at least they need to provide them some professional trainings. 7. The price is little expensive. Also they don’t have any lunch special around $10. 8. The restaurant is pretty big. Larger than Tandoori. At the end. I really wanted to big them five star; They are new in town and trying to establish their business. I just don’t want to give away some biased information that not going to help others. Good luck to them. I really wish them Good Luck. And Welcome to Idaho Falls. We really appreciate your business. Hope you will take look into those points to improve your business. Thanks!!!
