This place is actually very good! I was surprised that the restaurant was empty on a Friday night, but we gave it a try. I'm glad we did, because the food here is amazing. The rice and beans are wonderful, and so was the carne asada and chicken. Very hot and fresh tasting with massive portions. And of course- the fried ice cream is heavenly. The waitresses are very sweet and made us feel so welcome. I will definitely be back. This place beats other Mexican restaurants in the area. And I didn't think that was possible. Very pleased!

This place is not much to look at but the buffet is delicious. Fresh, Abuela-made tortillas cooked while you wait, tender pork carnitas that are flavorful and just melt in the mouth, rich baked beans, enchiladas and chicken mole are on point too. Price is a bargain.

This place has the worst service I have ever seen. There is tables, 2 servers and been over 40 minutes and still no food. It took 25 minutes to get WATER. Unless you have not her but time to kill, don't bother. Hope once we get our food it is worth this insane wait.

Rather than just say it's bad I am going to list the reasons why in hopes that the correct their problems. 1. the chips tasted old and almost stale. I saw one lady spit a chip out. 2. Re-fried beans are side dish not a dip for appetizer. 3. Service was beyond slow despite the place almost being empty. 4. The Carne Asada that I had was over cooked.

I've been missing good Mexican food from California. Tried quite a few places before finally trying Cancun. Went in to order takeout. Ordered a fajita burrito (mind you I was super picky on how it was made) and they were very nice and accommodating. Hubby had the carne asada plate. Was a ton of food. Comes with chips and salsa. We also had the best orchata in Boise, didn't taste powdery or anything. Sooo yummy!! So glad we finally tried this place, and its so close to us! Legit Mexican.

The food is pretty good. Been in Boise a long time and never had ate here. Can't believe I missed this place it awesome the food and service is great. Definitely will be coming back sometime to try the buffet it 11-2 Monday through Saturday and they have one on Sunday.

Drove by and visited for the first time as we aren't in Boise often. Was greeted as friends and treated very well. The food was quick and hot. Very good menu order recomendations from the server/owners. Portion sizes were huge and left satisfied and full. Will be visiting again soon. Thanks for being great and friendly.

We felt unsure after reading the mixed Google reviews. Three of us went on a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm. We were the only table there at first. Friendly staff seated us right away, brought us water, chips/salsa/beans, and took our food order. We ordered chili colorado, chicken en mole, fried jalapeños, flour & corn tortillas, and shredded beef taco/chicken enchilada combo. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was piping hot. Tortillas are homemade. The seasonings, flavors, and meat quality of all the dishes - 100% YUM!! Total was around $40 for 3 people but no alcohol.

We have been going to this place for the full nine years my husband and I have been together and he has been going even before we met. The staff is always attentive and treat us like family! It's our go to place! Everything is awesome! The chicken nachos Cancun appetizer are a meal in themselves, the beans and rice are on point, and the sangria is the best I've ever had! We love this place and will go until we move away! There's so much to love!

I have been coming to the Cancun Restaurant for years. Ive never been disappointed. Recently they have remodeled and it looks amazing. Pitchers of margaritas are delicious and priced just right! I recently attended a birthday party at this restaurant and they were extremely accommodating and even allowed us to bring in our own dessert!!!! I always go here if I'm in the area and am craving something delicious!

Been going here regularly for years. Went tonight, food was on par. Came time to leave and asked for a Dr. Prepper to go since the server hadn't checked back in a while due to doing books. Said she would have to charge me another 2.50 for it. Then said fine, I'll take the refill at the table. She said it would still be the same... another charge. Limit is one refill. I paid 2.50 for a 16 ounce glass that was 90% ice and get one refill? Pretty much only 12 ounces of fluid combined which cost at the outside 25 cents total. Looked on the menu. No mention of one refill. They went cheap. Won't be back. I can get alot better food without the headache for 40$ elsewhere. Too bad. Used to be a reasonable place. Not anymore.

Used to be great, not anymore. We waited only a couple minutes to be seated, then the staff disappeared. We then waited another 15 before they took a drink order. When our food cane out my order was incorrect and the cheese on the inside of the enchiladas wasn't even melted. I would have told someone, but the staff had disappeared again. We finished and tried to pay and leave, but I'm pretty sure we were invisible since we were so heavily ignored. Server got a tip, because making less than minimum wage is unfair; but we will let everyone know how terrible this restaurant has become. I'm sure the owner will be happy to know that we will not be returning.

Tough to give them a 4...We've been going there about 20 years now and sometimes very good, but the last few times the food has not been consistent and the service has been terrible. Sorry guys no one ever came back once to check on food....ran out of drinks halfway through the meal and the check was never brought to us. A 3 is more accurate, but for old times you got 4.

This is our new destination for Mexican. It is so much better than any place I've yet been to in town. We always have the same server and she is very friendly and recognizes us right on the spot. Despite the fact we come here late when no one else is out, our plates always come out hot and loaded with goodies. The menu is huge and the prices are unbeatable. Whether you are coming here alone, with a date, or carrying the whole family with you, you're sure to strike a great deal. The food itself is fantastic and as I mentioned before the servings are more than satisfactory - we always take home leftovers no matter how we order. Believe me, if you haven't been here you are definitely missing out - give it a try.

Good but watch out!!!! The food was pretty good. The service was alright. Prices are pretty high. But...they served my CHILD a plate so hot that it burned her thumb when she tried to pick up a nacho from it. I'm talking crying little girl with a huge blister. Even after several minutes, her plate was too hot to eat from while everybody else's had cooled. I've never seen a plate so hot. Way hotter than you normally get. The staff was half-heartedly apologetic. Cancun, stop putting plates under the broiler then setting them in front of CHILDREN!

This place is obviously on the way out. Walls were stripped bare, enchilada dinner was bad and staff was getting ready for a Latino dance party. Also, only 2 or 3 tables with customers on a Saturday should have given us a clue to walk out.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. This is definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Idaho. The staff is always polite and welcoming. They have delicious authentic dishes ranging from chicken, seafood and steak. Whatever your favorite Mexican dish is they most likely have it. I recommend the fajitas, prepare for large portions though. Also if you are in for lunch, check out their buffet from 11am-3pm.
