I cannot recommend this place enough.

The BEST steamed mussels I've had in a long time. And I've tried many, even better than some ordered in coastal cities. Request with Cougar cheese on it and maybe ask for a spoon to slurp up the rest of the broth! Goes well with a stout or I'm sure any favorite draft on tap.

We went here for our 5th wedding anniversary when we came to pullman for a Cougar football game. We had a late lunch that was fantastic and a couple great drinks before the game. The staff was so nice, we even stopped back in after the game for an appetizer.

All three dinners were very good. The aged barrel burger was great. The salmon salad with spinich was great. Even the veggi curry was way above expectations - awesomely good. Good beer selection. Outdoor seating. Sports in the bar. Not too loud outside where we sat.

I came to celebrate my birthday with my husband and grandparents on a Saturday night. We had a bit of a wait because it was busy, but it was totally worth it. Everything I tasted was cooked perfectly, and very delicious! I highly recommend the seared chicken with veggies, and the top sirloin steak with bleu cheese.

The menu offered a wide variety from burgers to Cajun to seafood with ambitious offerings. The execution fell short of the description on all of the meals including the children's selection. If not overcooked it was undercooked with the shrimp offered very near expiration. The pretzel appetizer was good, the crab cakes mediocre, the service was mediocre borderline poor especially considering how few patrons were seated, money and time better spent at the stadium; we don't have a reason to return.

My overall experience here over the years has been that the food is generally bland and the meat is usually dry. Outside the food arena, though, Birch and Barley gets a lot of things right. It has an undeniably pleasant and lively atmosphere and a good bar. The takeaway: Good for groups, look elsewhere for date night.

Great food and a simple menu makes the experience very relaxed. The atmosphere is good and there is no noticable echo; the accoustics are great. Some may say pricing is on the high side, but I think they are very reasonable. Only complaint is that our water glasses were empty most of the time but the waiters were friendly and helpful when we spoke with them. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a quality meal in Pullman.

Pretty good American flare food. Vegan friendly and you can substitute items for healthier choices. Got the hummus and it was great. Black bean wrap can be made vegan friendly with a nice salad instead of fries. Good portions and good beer selection. I would eat here again.

I really enjoy this place! Kyley ,Journey, Andru, Lisa , Taylor , just some of the staff are very personable. Jesse, one of the bartenders makes the best drinks I've ever had. I will drive the 15 miles from my house just to have one of his drinks. The happy hour is fantastic! 1/2 off on selected items along with some discounts on beer and spirits . Some previous reviews I noticed said kind of pricey, this is not a fast food joint. The food prices are totally appropriate for the venue. I've never had a bad meal there . Indoor /outdoor seating which I love!

The place was awesome. I have been coming to this restaurant for some time now. The restaurant always had some nice selections of food and drink. It is a great place to bring company and get togethers. The place does get really busy around the weekends, events and holidays. Check in before hand if you plan to go on such occasions.

They were very informative about the menu and super accomendating to my girlfriends onion allergy. I wish I could remember our servers name cause she made what normally is a tough time figuring out what she can eat or not, simpler and understanding.

While at this restaurant I have experienced very good customer service with the only thing disheartening me is the taste of the food. I am a very picky eater and so when specific vegetable ingredients (onions and peppers) are left off the menu describing what an item has in it, I tend to be surprised when my meal is chock full of those things. The jambalaya pasta was okay from what I did eat but there were onions and peppers which I expressly wished to leave out and made known to my server.

First time here: My friend put his credit card ON HIS BILL TO PAY. They took all the bills back to our table for signatures WITHOUT his card and tried to convince him that he "probably dropped it". When the card was found on the floor AWAY FROM OUR TABLE, they proceeded to tell us "Well its glad you guys drop it and not us", horrible attitude and horrible customer service. Never again.

The place has a good layout with multiple seating levels which creates privacy. We had a good server (Taylor) for a large group. They have alot of unique drinks, which are kinda pricey but if they pack a punch, worth it (bonus you can find their drink menu online). I stuck with a fair priced beer which was excellent and got their rotating burger. The food was good, but my burger was overdone, sort of a reality of being in a ten person group :/ I don't go to many places in Pullman and would definitely try here again.

The place is very clean and neat with a good menu i had the honey bbq wings they were good maybe a little too much vinegar but the heat level was mild but noticeable. I would eat here again. A little pricey at 20$ for lunch for one (wings fries and a lemonade)

We had ribeye and prime rib. The prime rib was cold and chewy when it arrived at the table. Ribeye was excellent. The risotto cakes were really good. We had blackberry mousse and chocolate stout cake; both were very good. Service was good.

Food is very good but was disappointed by the smoke chicken wings. Hard thing to pull off and keep the chicken moist but felt that the smokiness was lacking, if you dipped them in any sauce you'd lose it. Burgers were great though.

Got food poisoning from the awful gumbo. They use the smallest frozen shrimp on the market, cooked all the flavor out of the sausage and the gumbo entirely. The crab was basically nonexistent but that was probably a good thing because it wouldnt have been high quality. Second awful experience here and i will not be coming back. I will be recommending others not dine at this low quality restaurant as well.

This restaurant serves overpriced carnival food. The buffalo wings are processed chicken (comparable to McDonalds nuggets) that are merely reheated from their frozen state. The shrimp po-boy was also not impressive, consisting of oily small-shrimp and strips of lettuce, the likes of which can be found at taco bell. Their fries also seem to be reheated frozen fingers. While I am not against indulging in greasy carnival food, I am against paying such a high price for it. On a positive note, their steak sandwich was cooked well and seemed to be "real."

The server was nice and great as well as the atmosphere. Was my first time being in there. The reason it lost three stars was because the meal we got "prime rib sandwhich" was dry, tasteless, and had no seasoning and tasted like they microwaved it. The ajou onion sauce was just water. There was no flavor. But most upsetting was how small all the proportions were for the price we paid. While it was over priced and the meal was a 2 out of 5 I would be willing to go again and hope the next (different meal) time would be a better experience.

Our daughter was here from the west side and we decided to try this place since we've seen a lot of cars parked around it during business hours. Staff were friendly. A bit of a wait for lunch even though they weren't crowded. My "Mile High" reuben apparently referred to Denver style rather than the size of the sandwich, The toast was almost burnt and there was very little Thousand Island dressing which made the sandwich dry. My wife's Powell sandwich was on a croissant which was pretty small by restaurant standards and there wasn't any mayo or any other sauce on it. It also came with a lot of onion that we specifically explained that we did not want. The special soup, potato, lentil and bacon, had a definite bitter aftertaste. I can't see us going back. Lunch for three (no alcohol) was almost $60.

We usually eat in the bar area during their happy hour which is daily 3-6pm. Have also eaten in the main dining room. Consistent quality with both food and service. The service is always great. Rotating taps are a nice change of pace. Definitely recommend the steamed mussels and cougar burger.

This restaurant is absolutely not a five star restaurant. prices on the menu are way over priced for how they are cooked and presented to you. The portions are similar to a kids plate. You would think that you'd get a good portion of food and it be delicious but no. My wife and I ordered crab cakes and when they brought the plate to us I asked where's the other one? We were supposed to get two. The waiter said, "oh it's underneath the other crab cake." Thinking to myself are you joking. 14$ and we got crab cake flat flat paper flate crab cake. The quality of food feel very short of mutt expectations.
