Uncle Bo's is a casual restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere and very very friendly service. Much aloha. All of their pupus are either original creations or creative and flavorful takes on old standards. Very delicious. One has to go back there several times to try everything. My friends and I ate at the bar and Robert treated us very very well.

my favorite dining experience on the island! this place is a must visit, every time I go to Hawaii. reasonable prices - even if they seem a little steep - because of how much food you get. took some colleagues here, the last time, and we each ate an appetizer as our meal. the bar tenders (and all of the staff) are always friendly and can offer wonderful recommendations, whatever your flavor style. the desserts are phenomenal, too. don't be fooled by the plain exterior, this place is chique on the inside - and well worth your patronage!

The high reviews here led us to this restaurant which let us experienced the worst food we've had in honolulu in the past two weeks. First of all is the food. We ordered the tiger beef salad and they served the steak rare without asking how we'd like it to be cooked. More importantly it had a stinky smell that I could not bear. I wasn't sure if they used fish sauce in the dressing or the beef was bad. I asked if they put fish sauce in it food and what they used to marinate the meat, and they told me they put fish sauce in almost every dish, which was not a clear answer. No matter what it was, it's not right if the salad smells stinky. I hope it's a Hawaiian specialty, putting fish sauce in salad, otherwise I'd have to stay in the bathroom and expect some undesirable reactions. Also the rest of the meal was just 1.5 out of 5 and overpriced. The music, deco and over all atmosphere were thrown together with no sense of style and taste. No matter how friendly your staffs are it is still 1 out of 5 restaurant.

Went here recently for our friends birthday party. Been here once before and not much has changed. Looks a little small once you walk in but the back area is a lot bigger. We had a party of 18 and sat comfortably and quickly. Food and service were great. We just did appetizers because they're recommended and fulfilling. Would definitely come here again!

I don't even have words for how fantastic this place is. The food is amazing, the portions are WELL worth the prices, the servers all seem so sweet and welcoming and have great suggestions. Jessica was our groups server and she was excellent from the start. Super attentive, friendly, she even pre-empted a question before my friend even knew he had one which was hilarious. The food was seasoned amazing, very filling and satisfying and I can't believe I'm looking forward to eating leftovers but I just couldn't finish it all at once. This place is amazing .

I went to the restaurant around 5pm. It was packed, but we got a table. The tables are really close together, and I felt like my family was eating with the couple next to us. Our waitress only took our order and checked on us 1 time. I had to flag down another waitress to get us drink refills and the check. The food is expensive and is not worth the price.

Good pupu menu, good service. We visited on a Monday night and we're seated without reservations. The service was good and portions were generous. We had the Ahi Poke which was very good. Oysters Rockefeller followed, which was an incredibly rich take on this classic. We also ordered the Dynamite Shrimp and the Kalua Pig fried rice, the latter being one of the best items serve to us. It was made with spinach and onions and was more than we could eat. Definitely worth seeking this place out, especially if you are staying near the South End of Waikiki. Parking is a little difficult. A $5 parking lot is next door on church grounds.

Uncle Bo’s in Waikiki May not look much from the outside (North Shore is a more inviting look outside) but it was our favourite meal during our stay in Waikiki. Kevin’s team were friendly and efficient; the place was packed with locals and the food was just great. Half the price of shore front restaurants and more authentic food. Well worth the walk or uber and we would definitely go back again

Great food, service was good. We ordered our drinks and Six Little Piggies when we first arrived. Unfortunately the waitress forgot to put in our order for the Six Little Piggies - so our dinner arrived first. I had the Pot Stickers (crispy) and the Crispy Crab Cakes. The crab cakes were delicious and pretty big considering you got two with the order. The pot stickers were ok - nothing special. My husband had the Baked Opah Mauna Kea and my son ordered the spaghetti from the kids menu. After our dinner arrived we re-ordered the Six Little Piggies - which my husband enjoyed. We were too full for dessert - the table next to us ordered the Hobo’s (taro beignets) - which looked amazing. There is a lot to pick from - I would definitely go back a second time!

We celebrated my brother's and his wife 30th anniversary, a party of 15. The food there is absolutely delicious! No typical bar food here. The dishes were high and gourmet tasting and mouthwatering. From the various seafood dishes, each with its own unique sauce to the rack of lamb, so scrumptious! The place was packed, and it was a Tuesday night. The service was courteous, but slower than usual because of the packed house. This gave our family more time to socialize and have drinks. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant for gatherings, drinks, and late night excellent food.

3 stars for decent drinks and appetizers, between two visits the entrees have been very disappointing, especially the Ribeye, $38 very bland with no seasoning and was not cooked properly at all, no sear and was ordered medium and came out basically raw, not even red just purple. Didn’t even bother to request it be cooked more since it wasn’t good quality meat and was tasteless to begin with. As I said most of the drinks and appetizers are pretty good, but for $40 there are so many other steak houses and random places with far better steaks for similar price or much less.

This place is off the beaten path/ main drag, but only a 5 minute cab ride from the best hotels in Waikiki. The vibe is laid back, the servers are friendly, prices very reasonable, but the food...OMG! Delicious! We were very hungry and ordered 3 pupus... the dynamite shrimp was excellent, the kahlua pork sliders were juicy, the sauce was on point(not too sweet, balanced perfectly), and the taro buns were soft and soaked up the juice but didn't fall apart. The cheesy garlic bread with garlic mushroom prime rib tips....I wanted to lick the platter clean! Soooooo good! We took food home... the portions are big! but had to try the taro root beignets.... so light and airy ! The drinks looked delicious, but we didn't try. It's a family friendly bar and grill with a kid menu. Will definitely return!

When we arrived at the restaurant (Kapahulu location) on time, they seated us immediately, waitress came to our table quickly, took our drink orders (they have an AWESOME bar, great selections/preferences), brought our drinks in a timely manner even though the place was packed full. Got the kalua pork nachos, but was disappointed because there was very little pork. Then we tried the Hawaiian pizza because it also came with kalua pork, however we were again disappointed. There was only 2 very small pieces of pork on the whole pizza. We had them box up the pizza and we gave it away to a homeless gentleman outside the restaurant.

Mediocre bar food. Most of it was edible, but little was good. Beer was good. Water was fine. Pizza was OK. Probably our worst meal in 6 days. Also, it is so loud that you cannot hear anyone at your own table.

To be frank, the only good thing about this restaurant was its location, friendly staff, and ambiance. Other than that, I don't have much to say. The prices were quite high, especially for the menu's limited options. I paid a visit based on the generally high reviews. It seems that either they were lying or I went to the wrong restaurant. The people I was with ordered a variety of foods. I personally got the shrimp tacos, which were drowning in an overly rich sauce and topped off with old mixed greens that I doubt were washed. The shrimp themselves were bland and vaguely fried. There was a sad sliver of avocado at the bottom that didn't mesh very well with the other flavors. One of the people I was with ordered the shrimp pasta, which was strangely sweet for, well, pasta. The french fries were good, and somebody else got clams (which they very much enjoyed). My party and I were disappointed, as we'd been excited from the reviews and were hoping for some good Hawaiian food. I might've gone on a day where they had new staff, or the chef was feeling particularly lazy. Either way, I feel like I paid too much for what I got.

Fun place. You walk in and are greeted very well. The bartenders are more then amazing. It seems crazy busy & loud but it's everybody getting together at there tables with there groups enjoying the food and atmosphere. We went for pupus & I ordered the half size kalua, ham, bacon, cheese and more, nachos. It was big! I had to have my son help me finish it. My son loved the poke to. We sat at the bar. Then at about 9:00pm, the lights dimmed & the music got turned up. It just got more fun in there. It looks small from the outside and also when you walk in, but there is another big room in the back. Great place to have a big party. Good food good fun...I loved eating at the bar cause I was up high and it was a large marble bar. Also, my fav bartenders on island so far, #1 service!

One of my favorite restaurants when I was living on island. All the Pupu’s are delicious - my favorite being the seafood trap. Came back here after a long hiatus and I’m glad the overall quality of the food is the same. I did try the chicken wings, something new to the menu, and wasn’t a fan of them. The fried flavor was overwhelming and the wings lacked little meat.

Not sure if you changed chefs or the recipie, but the first few times I came in for the peppered chicken pasta it was magic, and more recently it's completely underwhelming. The sauce used to be a thick creamy wonder with loads of pepper for flavor. Now it's basically a thin Alfredo with onions. It's a bummer and I probably won't be back for any more disappointing pasta dishes

The dynamite shrimp, oysters Rockefeller, and drinks were great. So much good flavor my plate was delicious but my girlfriends SOS was overcooked and had a horrible flavor to it. When we brought it up to the waitress, he responds was "it taste like that when the scallops are over cooked" then proceded to ignore us and from then she didn't come back to the table. Had to wave down another server to pay the bill. Flavors were great and it was a fun environment but the service was subpar even after she said the plate wasn't cooked correctly, didn't offer to make it right and ignored us. I hope this was just a one time thing but I probably won't be going back.

Unless you are feeding 2 or more, don't order the Alii Feast...Even if it was delicious,we had a lot left over. We will go again. Next time we'll get the Not so garlic steak.

We was seated immediately when we got there but we actually was in between 2 other people tables and it was way to close to the others. Why would someone want to be so close that a stranger is breathing on you as you eat? The food was overpriced for the place. The appetizer we got was pig sliders thinking it would be small cause you know "sliders" there was 3 medium size ones that's it. I got the salmon and my husband got the catch of the day which both our meals was cold. The vegetables wasn't cooked all the way. Plus it was way to loud to even hear my husband people was yelling to each other just to talk to each other. Very disappointing when I was told it was a good place to go.

Dont judge the outside, nice inside. I've had drinks here before and liked the social atmosphere. Went there for dinner and could not believe how great the food was. All the other times I missed out. Our friends visiting from Japan loved it too. Parking is right across the street and service was awesome. Get reservations cause it gets busy and rightly so.

Interesting meal choices you don’t see anywhere else, cool atmosphere and fast service. Drinks are a little pricey though, but so is everywhere in wakiki.

The service was relatively fast considering it was a Saturday night. We only had to wait 15 minutes for a table for faster service your welcome to eat at the bar. We sat at the bar to wait for out table and ordered a yummy craft cocktail. Each dish we ordered was fresh, and hit the pallet just right. Wonderful array of simple yet complex flavors. ****The Dynamite Shrimp and Crab Cakes are a must have!!!****

Food was great and service was awesome! Highly recommend their nachos and everything Boca Rota on the menu. If you want to have good conversations dine in the backroom as opposed to up front. At a certain time they turn on loud music and dim the lights, a fun ambiance for sure but not good for chatting it up.

Highly recommend! Great service - were seated & greeted by our server, Kanoe, right away. Started with Boca Rota (fantastic!!), then had dinners (swordfish, Uncle Bo's Seafood Catch & prime rib). My husband also got the clam chowder (really tasty!). Finished with Taro Beignettes - perfect end to a great dinner! Completely enjoyed our last night in Hawaii! Kanoe was so personable, with great suggestions! Thank you!
