Really great fish tacos, they're huge and full of fresh Ono. I had the 2 tacos plate, it comes with rice, Mac salad and coleslaw. Their Mac salad and the slaw were also way above average. It's so much food I saved half for dinner! Great place not far from the beaches along Diamondhead.

Place was dope! I got the Cajun Ono with aioli fish taco plate and it was AMAZING! My wife got the Cajun shrimp lunch plate and that was pretty good, but I strongly recommend the tacos!

Delicious fish tacos! Some of the best! I enjoyed the chicken club salad with macadamia nut pesto. Great local take on dishes! They serve a great variety of burgers, burritos, sandwiches, and salads. Everything looked delicious. The restaurant has a cool surf decor and it's closed on Sunday mornings for church. They have a couple little kids helping around the restaurant who help out. They're adorable! Much respect for family owned business!

I don't understand the hype. The fish in the fish tacos was overcooked, dry, and bland. The sauce was Mayo with Cajun. The taco was basically fish+Mayo+lettuce. Wasn't just mine, my friends was like that too. I've had better tacos for the same price in Toronto. Wouldn't come here again

While the establishment was adequately decorated, the atmosphere relaxed, and gave its customers a reasonably wide selection of food and beverages the shortcomings outweighed performance of this establishment. Cons: - The staff had a forced politeness to them and seemed, overall, aggravated with the presence of myself and my guest. - The food was seasoned disproportionately, clumping in many places leading the the texture of sawdust being consumed. - The meat was undercooked, leading to the illness of myself and my guest later that evening (Thus why this review is being written at 1 in the morning). Pros: - The selection of foods available should meet anyone's taste, providing you have a lead belly. - The location is tucked away near a lovely espresso bar, excellent for some post meal coffee, if that's your fancy.

Great spot for a lot of good Hawaiian inspired food for a good price. I ordered the mix plate and it was all very good and cost $16. This was one of the more expensive items. The tortilla for the taco was very nice and slightly crispy.

This place seems to always be crowded so expect a wait. The staff are friendly and do their best to accommodate their customers, who seem to be mostly tourists. The food is good, but Taco Tuesdays make it more worth it, but of course it's usually crowded then.

My friend recommended this restaurant. He said it's the best fish tacos in town, so we had to go. My bf tried to order one of the signature burgers but the cashier said he didn't want to make him that burger because that's what makes the burger. Ok fine. Sorry I can't customize your signature burger to my liking. So he tries to order the Incinerator burger. The cashier says no order a different one. That one is too hot. That it's really insulting.

Pretty phenomenal tacos and burritos. I'm seriously amazed at how simple the food is and yet each bite delivers a dynamic range of flavors. Their secret sauce is their slaw which has the perfect amount of dressing which keeps the experience fresh and juicy. Great quality ingredients, I've never left this place unhappy.

Best fish tacos I think I've ever had!! The tuna mac salad wasn't bad, but I prefer my mac salad with a little more mayo so I'll probably get the fries next time. We also got the quesadilla and it was also tasty.

This is the second time I've gone to this place and I've been super disappointed. I called and placed an order for a quesadilla 30 mins before getting to this place. Once there they said my food was on the grill and would be ready in 5 mins. 10 mins later my quesadilla still wasn't on the grill. The main guy seemed stoned and working at a super slow pace with no sense of urgency. They only had 3 orders on the line and once looking over to see if my food had been put on the stove had not even placed on the grill... Usually I'm not one to complain... but when there isn't really much people placing orders and the order is a simple quesadilla it's kind of hard not to complain when you wait over an hour... The main guy cooking was super slow and rude... and probably should be wearing a hair net.

Great Taco Tuesday for fish or chicken for $2.75! Friendly and patient staff. Even though there was a very long line to order, their staff took time to help and explain menu items and help customers with certain food allergies. The food was very good, fresh and tasty! It’s worth the wait. They have a self serve station for sauces and they have a staff member who comes out to clean the area and explain the sauces. Great selection and prices are affordable. I took off one star because there wasn’t enough staff to clean off the tables. Tip: after ordering food or if coming with another person, one of you would want to grab a table.

Best tacos and coleslaw I've had in my life! The chicken, fish, and shrimp tacos are all incredible and cooked to perfection. The chicken is tender, the fish is flaky, the slaw they put on top has a great crunch and is light so it doesn't take away from the rest of the flavors in the taco. I don't know what sauce they put on the tacos but it's delicious. $2.75 Taco Tuesdays. Get there early or deal with the huge line!

Had the grilled Ono plate twice. Mac-nut pesto once and garlic butter 2nd time, both delicious. Cajun fries are the way to go, garlic butter fries were addicting though. Fish tacos were spot on as well.

From simple grilled fish with garlic butter marinade on a bed of rice and slaw to hefty chicken burritos this place is the perfect spot for an after surf meal on the south side.

Surprisingly awesome! The gal behind the front counter took our order and was very friendly. My wife got a burger and I got the garlic shrimp plate. We also split an order of the Cajun fries. Everything tasted so good! They even had their own special sauce to dip the fries in. We got the huge size but could have probably done with the large for the fries. One dipping sauce wasn't enough. It was a fun environment and with great food in Hawaii you can't beat that.

But still good.Looking for a good spot near Waikiki came across this one, didn't miss really enjoyed our late night dinner went around 8pm there was a small line that moved up pretty fast the little in the cashier was great she knew what she was doing. Both times the food tastes great, Both times the cashiers taking the order were horrible. He acted like it was more of a bother to take our order. Spoke when were weren't done talking to him, and replied abruptly when we had questions. On top of that, didn't even get our order right. If he just listened and wasn't such a jerk, 5 stars for sure. If you don't want to talk to customers, then dont be at the cashier station.

We loved the atmosphere. You know a place is good when there is a line out the door to order and it's hard to find a table. We had to wait a bit to order and get our food but it was worth it. The fish tacos were delicious and so was the tuna mac salad. The fries were not good which was sad and the table and floor underneath us was a bit dirty so that's the reason for the 4 stars.

Incredible view of Diamond Head right out the front door We initially came here because of a recommendation for the fish tacos, which weren't as great as I was hoping for - weren't bad, just not amazing (really good coleslaw, though). Loved the Grom Bowl with BBQ Chicken thighs that I had - took it to go for a meal at sunset on Kaimana Beach.

Came here for lunch with my friend who suggested it. I'm always up for trying someplace new and boy this was a great decision made on his behalf! I wanted fish tacos and kalbi so I decided to go with the mixed platter which came with a fish taco, kalbi, and chicken, along with hapa rice (mmmm hapa ;-)) slaw and tuna mac salad. Perfect meal for lunch to enjoy over great conversations with good friends. Fish taco was by far my favorite of the three items. Perfectly cooked, tender and well-seasoned. Tortilla was soft which is how it should be. The kalbi was a bit thicker cut and not to my liking, flavor lacked but wasn't too bad. Chicken was tender and tasty. I had also ordered the chips and salsa, which I learned that they fried their chips to order so be careful! It's hot on the first bite! haha. Parking is street parking, which is easy to find but can be busy during lunch hour! Service was great and staff were friendly. Seating area is somewhat limited but it won't hurt getting to-go and heading to the beach to enjoy lunch!

This was the first place we ate when we arrived in Hawaii and man is it good. The only downside is once we ate here, we wanted to come back every day. The burgers are amazing and we particularly enjoyed the "Threes Burger". The tacos are also really good and the chicken and fish tacos are on sale Tuesdays. The staff are really friendly even when the restaurant is really busy and the ambiance is good. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Oahu.

The good news is that the fish tacos are just as I remembered them to be, which is damn awesome. The better news is that their menu looked bigger and better, and their aioli that was given to us for our fries was incredible. I got the fish taco for $4.50 and it is a very nice, overflowing taco. But the best part, it was absolutely delicious & extremely tasty. My other got the Cajun chicken burrito for $9.95 and all he could say is yum, yum, yum. Was recommended to this place by the Banan Food Truck worker and it did not disappoint. Will certainly be back to this little eating place gem!!

Really good food here, and also important for me and my family we were able to find free street parking. The prices were decent and food was really good! Very happy that I live just a couple of minutes walk away from this great establishment. The menu is extensive and I love the Caprese salad and the BBQ Chicken Quesadillas. One of the highlights is the selection of Tacos, the fish tacos in particular, and Taco Tuesday will find the establishment very busy. South Shore is family owned and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Been on the island for a year and in my opinion, best burger I had yet. Family enjoyed the small restaurant atmosphere and my kiddo enjoyed drawing on the wall near the front while we ordered and waited. Wifey had her chicken and fish tacos and she enjoyed them both immensely. The aoli was really good as a dipping/spread for your food. You’ll have to look it up for yourself, but trust that it is great! Definitely a reason to return to the area.

Line up outside, wait, then order and pay inside. Find a table, and wait for food. Self service condiments, plastic utensils. An affordable alternative to price gouging prevalent at Waikiki hotel dining rooms, if you have private transportation to travel to the S S Grill.

We were hungry and tired when we got there. A bit frustrated with no near by parking. We parked around the (long) block and walked there. Simple menu but just okay food. Basic hamburger and hotdog for the kids. Wife got the so-so fish tacos and I got a short ribs burrito, which was really a wrap. Not the most exciting food. If you happens to be walking near by, sure. Otherwise, not worth the hassle.

Tacos were good. But the garlic butter fries we the BEST. Ok about the tacos... I had the fish tacos with the aioli sauce and had an extra aioli on the side. The tortilla was cold and did tear apart as i picked up the taco. The fish could have had some kind of seasoning but the aioli sauce helped. But the plus side: the amount of fish they served was spot on. I would give it another try but definitely will go for the garlic butter fries.
