The menu said there were vegan options but there wasn't many. None that sounded too appealing. I went for my birthday dinner and they offered me a free dessert that I wouldn't eat, and so we ended up having to purchase dessert elsewhere. …

Excellent customer service, amazing atmosphere, food was absolutely delicious! We also had a great server "Branden " who gave us some Top Notch suggestions on what to Eat!

Johnny Khun

Great food and service! Staff was very friendly and helpful with the options. Price is a bit high but overall great experience.

Nehemiah Richardson

Staff were fantastic. His attention to detail, knowledge of the menu and wine list and recommendations were fantastic. Good was great. The sample appetizer canoe was great value - we could have just had that for dinner. Entrees were great. The salmon was perfectly cooked and short ribs melt in your mouth. Great overall experience.

Warren Kear

Great food and service. Would recommend highly. Get Roy's tasting menu!

Fernando Melendez

Amazing place - had the Tasting menu that features a Macadamia Nut encrusted Mahimahi and the appetizer sampler shown in the photo. Drinks were great and service was superb!

Joanie Thalheimer

Hands down the best fresh tuna and butterfish my husband and I have ever eaten (and we have eaten a lot)! Highly recommend the hot chocolate souffle for dessert. We rarely order dessert, but we are so glad we ordered this to end our delicious meal. Food is very pricy, but worth it.

Joe Lally

Outstanding food and service!!!!

Nikki Decker

DELICIOUS! Excellent food and service.

The menu said there were vegan options but there wasn't many. None that sounded too appealing. I went for my birthday dinner and they offered me a free dessert that I wouldn't eat, and so we ended up having to purchase dessert elsewhere. Although for the most part the food was good, it wasn't worth the price, especially since we all left still hungry from the small portions.

Lilian Dizon

The most amazing meal we had on the island!

Brooke

Truly delicious!! The restaurant is beautiful and the staff were so friendly and attentive. He was able to describe each dish with such detail and in a way that made it all sound amazing. The waiter was actually able to talk me into a dish that I normally wouldn’t order but I am so glad I did because it was the best dish on the menu. I will definitely be coming here again.

Stuart Endo

Excellent service, food was done very well.. all dishes were delicious. The only.issue was that I wish the portions were bjgger.

Kevin Vakalis

It's Waikiki pricing but the atmosphere and staff are fantastic. We had a great time.

The food is good just too pricey for my lifestyle

Johnny Khun

Great food and service! Staff was very friendly and helpful with the options. Price is a bit high but overall great experience.

Angel Terriquez

We all agreed this was the best food my family of 12 had ever had.

Dan Hood

My wife and I came here for our anniversary and we loved it. We each ordered the 4-course meal and a bottle of wine. Everything came out in a very timely manner and freshly prepared. My only gripe is that I ordered a medium-rare filet mignon and received a steak tartar instead. I’m not a big dessert guy but their chocolate souffle was out of bounds, seriously. Service was phenomenal and every one of our needs was met. Aside from the insanely rare steak and boring greens salad, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a flavorful menu and a lively atmosphere. HOWEVER, if I pay 85 bucks for a steak dinner, the star of the show should be cooked properly. We’ll still be making a return visit.

Rebecca Guldin

Honeymooners, don’t sleep on this place. Go straight for the tasting menu with wine pairings and get the mac nut crusted monchong.

Bile K

Food and service out of this world !

Stephanie McDaniel

The Sunset Special served between 5pm and 6pm is perfection. Starting with the poke trio, then the petite filet over the most delicious mac and cheese and sauce, followed by lava cake and ice cream (add a cup.of coffee to dessert, yum.) My husband and I love good food, this was awesome.

Victor Ortiz

Even though food was delicious and the experience was excellent, it was on the pricey side

Martin Hensen

Roy's Waikiki did not disappoint! My wife and I ate here twice during our vacation and we will be back in the near future! With drinks, expect to spend about $75 per person. It was the highlight of our vacation. Thanks!

Mike Mitchell

Friendly place with good food and drinks.

Nehemiah Richardson

Busy place like most restaurants in Waikiki, the seating near the kitchen gave me a pretty good idea on how busy the kitchen is and provided some entertainment as the kitchen drama unfolds. The pork ribs for appetizer was humongous; and the seafood dishes very well thought out and came marinated in sauces that I've never tasted before and I was pleasantly surprised at the unique and refreshing taste. Salmon is always a risky dish to order, too often overcooked rendering the steak too dry, but at Roy's the salmon is done perfectly. This is a restaurant that is easy to recommend.

Meleah Nelson

OMG! Amazingly delicious! We were visiting Waikiki in October, a great time to go, btw. We stopped at Roy's on our last night. We were blown away. Firstly, the service.... stupendous! They were so polite, efficient, quick and caring. You don't find that level of service very often. We had a 3 course set meal because it was less expensive. Roy's is pricey, but worth every penny. The fish was so perfectly done, it was heaven. The chocolate lava cake was an amazing dessert. We left stuffed and happy and spent about $100 for 2 of us. I am ready to fly back to eat there again!

Robinse Tonny

Crazy delicious food. I recommand everything!!!!!

Mark Sipes

Great food and service. Nothing super unique about the dishes, but everything is done very well. Ie the dishes are Hawaii with plenty of Aloha!

Sarah Triebenbach

There lunch menu is appetizers only but it delicious, the spring roll were good, we had sushi too and sea bass was so delicious it fell apart wen you eat it. It's a nice place and they have outside sitting area which was nice

Very classy, great service abs great food!

We’ve always thought about trying Roy’s Waikiki in the past but timings just never worked out before. Roy’s is one of the many restaurants founded by Japanese-born Roy Yamaguchi (who has a long and storied history with cuisine in Hawaii). Towards the tail end of our Hawaiian vacation this year, we found ourselves in the area and, looking for some light snacks, we stopped by their patio for happy hour. Unfortunately, their covered patio doesn’t have an ocean view… however, it still makes for a cool refuge from the hot sun. We ordered their signature Crab Cakes ($24) with a chili sesame butter sauce. While the crab cakes are small, they’re encased in a crispy shell with lots of real crab on the inside. We also ordered their Original California Roll ($10) with snow crab, tobiko, cucumber, and avocado. I’m not sure how “original” it is because I thought the California Roll originated by Vancouver-chef, Hidekazu Tojo. In either case, the California roll here was quite good… probably all of that fresh snow crab meat on the inside. Last up was the Frying Dragon Roll ($12) with a sweet ginger and wasabi beurre blanc sauce and a decadent filling of unagi, avocado, and misoyaki butterfish. Originally, I thought it was a typo (“frying” instead of “flying”) but it’s called “frying” because it’s fried on the outside. Loved the crispy crunchy outer coating on this roll. If you’re looking for some cheap eats, this probably isn’t your place… prices, as to be expected, are typical of most touristy restaurants in Waikiki. However, the food dishes that we did try here were quite good.

David Stoughton

Had high expectations slightly disappointed. Service was very good that is a highlight. This is a very busy and crowded restaurant so expect a high noise level. Our main disappointment was with entrees...the orzo lobster mac and cheese was so heavily seasoned with tarragon that is literally all it tasted like...the fish sampler was also a bit to heavily sauced..fish flavor did not come thru. When we mentioned the tarragon heavy dish they took our drinks off the bill which was nice. Maybe it was just a very busy night but we didn't feel it lived up to the billing.

William Sullivan

Can't wait to go back

Chris Brennan

Had the vegan three course meal. The food was very good. It was a bit pricey, but that is to be expected in Waikiki. The staff were friendly but they had little idea on what drinks they had (there was only a wine list offered). Other than that, a nice place to spend our last night in Hawai'i.

Angela Herna

Amazing food. Awesome Martini

Moira Casey

Dinner on our last night was wonderful. Great service and delicious and plentiful food. Fish was nicely seasoned. Desserts unbelievable.

We dined here during our visit in may on mother’s day. Servers were very professional and attentive. They were so kind enough to explain all the dishes etc. food tasted amazing. I ordered a prawn dish and it was so fresh and delicious, they literally just melted in your mouth. Bit on the pricier side but you do get good amount of food for it and it’s an experience Forsure. Thank you for an amazing hospitality.

Bernadette Wilkins

Either way, no pressing complaints here. It was pleasant from a textural standpoint for sure. Third course was a bread pudding that taste akin to a wet boberry biscuit and ice cream. It was tasty, but about this time I was in a food coma …

Food was delicious. Staff very friendly . Our waitress was very nice . We didn't have to wait long and got seated right away . The steak was fantastic .

Worth every penny

LANGONG FAHKAWZ!!

Great place to pupu and drink

shawn switzer

This place is delicious. I tried The Tofu Yaki and Tofu-Licious Roll. Word around the table was the scallops where the best anyone's ever had.

Kevin ONeill

Service and food were both spectacular

Alexander Brooks

The setting is average, it feels a little crowded and the fact that they were under renovations did not help. Service and main dishes were correct, but the deserts were really excellent. They will offer you a chocolate souffle and an upside down pineapple cake that you have to order at the beginning of the meal because of the time of preparation and they are definitively worth it. No doubt the best part of the meal and worth visiting for it

Johnny Tran

You cant go wrong with Roy’s. Plan ahead make reservations. Food quality is exceptional and worth the price. Attentive and friendly staff. Keep it up Roy’s!

Geoff Koziol

We first went here ten years ago, and the food and service were spectacular. This time the service was still excellent, but the food was maybe one half-notch down from spectacular. Still worth it though, not least for the chocolate soufflé.

Pat

Food was excellent but small, 3 ounces of fish and 3 asparagus spears was the entire meal

Nancy dd

-Food is extremely slow to the table. -No bread while you wait...all $$$ restaurants service bread. Waiter encouraged us to order appetizers, soup, salad while waiting for the main course. Really? -Food was just ok, food is overrated. I ordered the butter fish. Its nothing special...just fish cooked in soy sauce until its reduced. The result is a super salty soft fish served with black sticky rice. I took some white rice from my nephew’s plate to help me finish my meal. No veggies to help cut the saltiness. My nephew’s steak was tasteless. All my guests said the food is a “C”. -Portion is a joke!!! Not worth the $$$. -Pineapple cake was dry/dense. We were told half an hour in advance ordering will be wise. It’s not worth it. +staffs is well trained in all aspects. +restaurant is very clean. Decor is nice, but nowhere near a 5 stars.

lynn Leach

Up scale Restaurant. Chocolate Souffle and vanilla bean ice cream is a must A little noisy...Wonderful impeccable service ... Delicious food.. Had a filet..very tender .tasty.

Ken

Food was great. Service was great. Atmosphere was great. Wasn't outrageously priced. Fish sampler dish with butterfish, mahi mahi, and salmon was great. The butterfish was the best though.

Hussein Bitar

Butterfish was exquisite. Service wonderful.

Darrel T

Got one of the course menus and the food was quite good, although pricey as one would expect. Towards the end of the meal, we ended up waiting quite a while for our bill to get processed, normally service issues don't bother me so much …

Dig Doug

Great menu with local Hawaiian dishes

Leslie Liu

Very fast and efficient service, we were in and out in less than an hour with entrees and desserts for the adults and two kiddos. Keiki 3-course menu ($16 Aug 2019) was a hit -- ours had the salmon and braised beef short ribs.

John Kuo

Diva the manager was super accommodating with the wedding we had plan for a while, super nice and was very flexible about schedule and always doubt check about detail and make sure it was the way we like it!

D M

Good Restaurant, the waiter was very nice and explain us everything,Excelent service, sushi was tasty, good cocktails

Michael Francois

Famous, tasty. Good drinks. Seafood is better than everything else. Research which fish is fresh and local! Seared ahi always works.

Randy Mathews

Exceptional service and food, warm welcome and true aloha spirit. Our favorite Roy's location, with specialties not available elsewhere. Perfect location, in the heart of the "passionate action" on Beachwalk Waikiki, food never disappoints, and the aloha is abundant.

rad max

Great restaurant at the west end of Waikiki.Food was fabulous - portions were massive - I couldnt finish. As it was my birthday they brought me out a cake and a birthday hat. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the ambiance was really …

Louis Ruggio

Seemed to be Asian fusion type of food which is not our cup of tea. Ambiance very nice. Drinks good. A bit pricey.

Karen Starr

Best mudpie dessert ever while watching the annual Honolulu celebration fireworks between their Honolulu and their sister city in Japan!

Terrence McGraw

This used to be my all time favorite restaurant but it has really gone down hill. The misoy butterfish was really, really fishy tasting, not clean as you would expect. The filet mignon was an excellent cut of meat, but the flavor was really not good based on a weird reductuon sauce on it. The spatzle mac and cheese was completely flavorless. All in all for the very high price tag I expected to just be wowed by the food, instead I was left feeling ripped off. I would go elsewhere in Waikiki for now.

Bernadette Wilkins

Either way, no pressing complaints here. It was pleasant from a textural standpoint for sure. Third course was a bread pudding that taste akin to a wet boberry biscuit and ice cream. It was tasty, but about this time I was in a food coma and could only handle a few bites. recommend it to anyone looking for a small/medium size catering location.

Travel Bumble

Roy’s is a lovely little bar near the beach of Waikiki. Not only it has a great location but the food is wonderful and plenty of selection on the menu and the selection of drinks and cocktails are great. The staff are amazing and I recommend a visit here.

Sachin Singh

It was okay sadly. I heard so many great things about this place but wasnot impressed. Spent $70 on three items but it was just okay. Hope i get the opportunity to change my mind on next trip we make out here.

Ken Morrison

Went in for a quick bite and was blown away! We ordered the sashimi trio (tuna, salmon and yellow tail) and it was fresh flavorful and like butter! Also ordered a chili tahi watermelon plate which was extremely refreshing and finally the chicken spring rolls, which were crispy outside and full of flavor inside. Ate on the patio, off the small plates menu, which was fine. Service was great. Will go back again!

DeeDee Ringer

Very nice place with great food!

Val Lewis

Food, ambiance and service all good. Extra points for food presentation. Pineapple upside down cake for dessert was well worth the 30 minute prep time. Kind of pricey...

Tim Campbell

Location is great. Food: everything was garlic, to the point of being inedible. Poorly seasoned. The seafood was soft, and not particularly fresh. The location was great, the competition not much better. But no reason to reward an average meal with a high rating.

Mark Proestel

Excellent Blue Hawaii drinks! Black bean soup was beyond words - delicious! We also enjoyed the crab cake appetizer! Thanks, we will be back tonight!

Christopher Hailey

Ono, oishi, delicious - great service and great food. A must go place in Waikiki.

Susan McCloud

Great food and view with a full bar. This is a great place to go for that special night out.

Rick Canencia

5 STARS! Ken was our server and the service couldn't be better. And the food...amazing, very delicious. I especially enjoyed the birthday cake and ice cream. Keep up the great work, THANK YOU!

Katie Lewis

We arrived in time for their sunset menu, and also were seated within 5 minutes. This is, hands down, the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. From the get go, the hostess showed us around and where the bathrooms were, and even moved the table cloth out of the way for me and put our napkins in our laps.

Daniel Sullivan

Delicious! Small portions for the price. But, they do have a great variety.

T Shadie

I was hesitant based on the wait time/prices etc.. this was the best meal I've had in Waikiki bar none. You pay for the service and the food, but you won't be disappointed. Seriously the best meatloaf I've had in my life and my grandma's was absolutely phenomenal! Eat here if you have the opportunity!

Syd Leung

We typically prefer Roy's Hawaii Kai, but the food is just as good here. The butterfish is excellent along with the short ribs among our favorites. This location is definitely noisier & doesn't have the view like Hawaii Kai.

chandra mccrea

was fabulous! The food excellent and drinks tasty!!! The waiter was so nice my young 5 year old liked the sampler platter they brought out for the kids, she wanted another for her dinner and they didnt even charge us. So nice!

Elizabeth Crouch

The most delicious meal I've ever eaten. So I'm one of those people that walks into a fancy restaurant and looks at the tiny portions and think to myself that I will never get filled up here. I mean, I like to eat. Roy's proved me wrong. The flavors are so satisfying, balanced, and exciting that you end up savoring each and every bite and wondering how this amazing chef was able to make your tongue dance all night!

David Ansett

Finding a great restaurant in Waikiki is surprisingly difficult. We’d visited Roy’s when we were here five years ago and had great memories. Our second trip didn’t disappoint. Really interesting flavors that all worked and finished off with their famous chocolate soufflé. Very friendly service. Lovely outside table. A dinner to remember.

Ngan Pham - Sanford

Food was amazing, but i dont like the server that much :-/

Meghan Landry

Absolutely delicious food but very lackluster service. Forgotten about (except by the bussers) for at least 15 minutes before someone approached us then felt like we were being approached every 5 minutes by nearly everyone, except our waiter after that. Dessert order also apparently didn't go through so we had to wait 30+ minutes for that with almost no explanation. All in all disappointing service for the price point

Brenda Miller

High class food and service. This particular Roy's offers exclusive menu options from their other restaurants. This place never disappoints when we go. They also have an extensive wine selection. An excellent place for a date night or client dinner.

Daniel Wolf

Elegant and delicious eating! Be prepared to spend a bit though!

Hamish Anderson

Looking for Great food, great service and a good night out? Then check Roy's out for sure. Was there with a large group and they looked after us fantastically. Great meal sizes, friendly staff and as I said, great food. Definitely worth a visit

Keith R

Wonderful meal. My daughter and wife ate Vegan and the food was delicious. Drinks were excellent and inventive. Service was very friendly and attentive. I had macadamia encrusted Mahi-Mahi and it was excellent. My son said it was the best thing he'd ever tasted. Great vibe in the place. Winner!

sortarican

Great meal. Had the appetizer sampler, the filet mignon and the souffle. Also had a bottle of Sake and the matcha beer. The beer was amazing.

Alan Lehman

Service and food was first class, expensive, but that's what you expect from a top restaurant

Jamie McDaniels

Great service and atmosphere. We sat at the bar outside and enjoyed the nice Hawaiian breeze. The food was great too! Our favorite was the poke stack. The “no worries”’cocktail is one of my favorites ever!

Paula Caravelli

Bustling Waikiki restaurant with delicious, rich food. Frying Dragon appetizer is large enough to share. Butterfish has a similar sauce and both are decadent. I ordered half portion of the Butterfish and it was plenty given the rich sauce. Their Hot Chocolate souffle is wonderful and should be ordered ahead. Great overall but plan a fast the following day!

Jason Harper

The food was decent but overpriced. Also the service was extremely slow. We had a party of five in what looked like a fairly empty restaurant. We were there for 3 hours mostly waiting for food and the check.

Lisa Crabtree

Enjoyed a delicious dinner with my family here for my birthday. Beautiful food

Helen H

I like the waikiki branch of Roy's better than the Hawaii Kai one... not sure what it is but the food taste better at the Waikiki restaurant. Staff is very friendly too. It can get a bit noisy especially since the restaurant is usually crowded so not sure if it will be great for an intimate dinner, unless you ask for a more private booth. I always liked their tasting menu since you get a bit of everything for $53. Their entrees can be a bit on the pricey side. Most of their entrees are about $30 to $50, so the tasting menu is really reasonably priced. You get 3 pieces of their popular appetizers, one choice of entree, and one choice of dessert. Great place to celebrate a special event or just to have something great to eat!

Denise Perry

Food was amazing as was the staff

Yugina Yun

Staff was very accomodating. Great service and great portion sizes. Not too little and very much felt nicely full by the end of our courses. Food tasted great and came out quickly.

Rick Canencia

5 STARS! Ken was our server and the service couldn't be better. And the food...amazing, very delicious. I especially enjoyed the birthday cake and ice cream. Keep up the great work, THANK YOU!

Sunil Chandar Jr

Excellent service. DELICIOUS food! Loved the pork chop dish.

Jane Bryan

Best place to eat hands down!!!! Fabulous food and great service. Highly recommend Roys

noscivic01

Amazing customer service from the entire staff. Diva the manager went above and beyond to make our dinner enjoyable. Everyone is very friendly and know each and every item on the menu and how it’s prepared. Best service I have ever had at any restaurant.

Mitch McGraw

I would give zero stars if I could, this place is not worth the money. Sat for almost 2 hours and when we finally got our food it was a piss poor attempt at steak, macaroni and cheese, and cauliflower. I will never waste money in this joke of a “restaurant” again. Better off going to Denny’s across the street.

Trang Du

Their cocktails is so good. The food is nice too, just be award that the pork belly on appetizers is server with fish sauce (the smell super strong, so don't order if you can handle the smell, i mean it ! I am Asian and still can't stand with that one lol)

Shiro Kabocha

Favorite place to eat in Waikiki. Head chef is personable and is happy to talk with customers when he is working in the kitchen. Everything on the menu here is amazing!

Robert Voce

This was a great experience and also a great meal with excellent service. Highly recommend it for a elegent dining experience.

Hea Young Park

Great food, friendly staff. A little bit pricey, but it is worth it. Dessert is a must.

juan mendez

Great food it was excellent everything was great the service top of the line I really recommend it try the crab cakes and the rib eye is perfect

Layne Erdman

Amazing food, great Hawaiian dishes, fantastic waiter and staff. Definitely, definitely recommend

Leslie Pierce

I have food poisoning....on my Hawaii vacation that’s costing me a fortune. I slept by the toilet on the floor of the bathroom most of the night and spewed my nearly $200 meal all up. That’s on top of the bad service, being sat as a couple next to two tables full of children, and being disappointed with our food. Now I’m laying in my room recovering instead of soaking up Hawaii. Don’t eat here ever! Roy’s owes me a day of my vacation back.

Edmond Sze

The speed of the restaurant was incredibly slow. Food was good but there's a good chance it was due to the fact that by the time all the food came we were starving. The food was served at different times for everybody at the table so enjoy watching everybody wait for something throughout dinner. Lastly, the bill was presented apparently can't be split and no effort was put in to even try to split it. Mandatory 20% gratuity which makes sense for larger groups but 20% seems a little steep for starving us and making us eat at different times and having us do math at the end of it.

Elynn Walker

Loved the food, everything we ordered was excellent!

Ace Ventura

I must of been living in a cave all my life, food is the the best I’ve ever had and the service is top notch. My new favorite place in O’ahu. I’ll be going once a month. Whoever gives this place lower than five stars is a fool.

Dan B

Fantastic food. Most people say the original Roy's location is their favorite but I found the fish here to be fresh and cooked perfectly.

Katie Lewis

We arrived in time for their sunset menu, and also were seated within 5 minutes. This is, hands down, the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. From the get go, the hostess showed us around and where the bathrooms were, and even moved the table cloth out of the way for me and put our napkins in our laps.

Jaz Matharu

Well, it is Roy's, what more can be said. I have never been disappointed coming to Roy's on any occasion. On this night celebrating our daughters birthday. An intimate corner for the 7 of us with ambient nose just right. Started off with the obligatory edemame and then got into a few appetizers including escargot and pork ribs. The butterfish was so tasty too! Main course was the sashimi which I have to say has been the freshest I've had in a long time. The filet was just right. The sous vide chicken was so juicy and tender, it wasn't dry and boring. Seasoning was excellent on the chicken. Dirty martini's, mules, and napa valley wine were perfect matches. Will always come here anytime we visit Honolulu.

Jordan Hansen

What an amazing way to spend a birthday. The food was amazing, the service prompt. It was a busy night, but we still felt welcomed. We will be back but not soon enough.

beto menescal

I recommend the patio bar for a relaxed dinner and drinks alone or not. Appetizer platter for usd 40 is worth a try. Good entree options to share of both seafoods and meats. Service does no disappoint as well.

Brian Cooper

The fish was ok, the best appetizer was the crab cakes- cocktail menu needs a complete overhaul! Service was good.

Brenden Lowe

Outstanding food, attentive service, and a fun atmosphere. We sat at the “sushi bar” which is really just alongside the kitchen. The attention to detail that goes into every plate that leaves the kitchen is amazing. From the appetizers to the salads to the main meal and desert, everything was delicious and beautifully prepared.

Gerald Winsor

Great menu selection! Definitely book beforehand as Roy's is always busy, but well worth it. Food was well prepared, tasty and they had good wine selection! Try and get a table by the window unless you're keen on seeing how the kitchen works = noisy.

Peter Kim

By far the best Japanese and Hawaiian fusion food on the island. To boot Roy is a friendly and warm host.

Steven Degetto

Wow what a meal!!! Poke, crab cakes, black cod butter fish and pineapple upside pudding... awesome cocktails... Thank you Justin our server and the restaurant for a special meal ... we can highly recommend

Marla Le

My favorite place for dinner! Food was AMAZING. There was not a long wait and outside seating was very intimate. Had their crab cakes for appetizer, so delicious. Ordered Tuna Sashimi and Shellfish Mac n Cheese. THE MAC N CHEESE WAS THE BEST. Also ordered their Churro and macadamia nut creme brûlée, a must have.

Mitchell Hardy

Our waiter, Louis is unreal! Amazing food, amazing service!

Dennis Bassett

Nice place to eat the mahi mahi fish with good

Luke Mastrantonio

This place was AWESOME! We had the tasting menu and the beef short ribs were amazing. The meal was exceptional with the meat melting in your mouth, almost didn't need to chew. Try and save room for dessert - one of the most challenging things to do when the main is spectacular. Seriously though, you have to have the dessert. Chocolate soufflé! Made to perfection! I couldn't fault the meal, desserts, service or setting. It can get busy, and was full when we got their but sitting at the bar if you're a couple is fine - you see right in the kitchen and there is still plenty of room.

Chris Empson

Food was decent but I was expecting an eating experience. It was quickly ended by a couple of basic things. I look for a hostess to greet me with a smile and be personable (strike one), I expect the table (hair of some sort on the tablecloth) and dishes (stains or unclean dishes) to be clean when served to me (strike two and three). I expect the waiter to remember to ask how I like my steak and to take my drink order (strike four and five). The guy in charge of filling the water glasses was bombastic about it to the point I had to tell him to go away and only come back if the damn glasses were empty. All of the above can be fixed by an easy management change or maybe a manager present. No one asked me how my experience was at the end which was the icing on the whole thing. There are better restaurants to eat at in Honolulu. Skip Roy's until they fix the basics.

Morgan Beals

This place was great! Deffinatly recomend.

Adrienne Anne

The food was amazing! I had the sample of 3 fish and was not disappointed.

Carey Yip

Excellent service all around. Food was tasty. A excellent place to eat. I will be a repeat customer. Staff is excellent.

Ryan Chiang

Roy's... have been to a lot of these restauarants. One of my favorites. Have been to one on nearly every island and also on the mainland. Why one star less... i had the 3 different fish preparations on the big island and no joke one of the most memorable, best prepared dishes in my life. The flavors in the downtown waikiki location, which i have been to many times was definitely not as good. It is a classic Roy's dish, that i have never had at this location... but it was good just not amazing. The apps and child's portion were very good! Highly recommend Roy's.

Michael Diaz

Amazing service with delicious food. Definitely coming back for the Flying Dragon dish

michael louie

The experience would be better if they have less tables. Maybe they packed the indoor dining room because they could not place customers outside. The customer demographic on a August weeknight was 95% international Asian families. Probably these are the reasons why it was so noisy. The food quality and taste were excellent. Very good service.

Peter Kharitonenko

Wow, this place just wow. Food amazing and service top nuch!

Barry Maddox

We ate here for our one fancy dinner while vacationing in Waikiki and what an experience. Excellent food I had the poke and my wife had the duck. Outstanding customer service as well. We’ll be back next year for sure!

There is a famous restaurant in the extended Bay Area that I've been to several times. I remember the second time, when I looked at the menu, I said to myself, "Why did I decide to come back here? There are only a couple of items I can eat!" Then I had my meal and remembered why: everything I ordered was so remarkable that it didn't matter if it was the only thing on the menu. Roy's is kind of like that. They have a few vegetarian items on the menu and a vegan prix-fixe dinner with three items. But all of the food is simply amazing: flavorful, original, interesting, and satisfying. They're also willing to do vegetarian substitutions into the prix-fixe menu, which is especially incredible given that the difference in price was only about $2 (a drop in the bucket -- this is a high-end restaurant with commensurate prices). The service was also incredible. Because I was solo, I ate at the bar, which has the full menu. Garrett was excellent: not only was he very accommodating and personable, but he also knew the wine list intimately and provided well-informed suggestions for pairing for each course, as well as a good after-dinner cocktail recommendation. (That he could do this for the vegetarian selections was especially impressive to me.) Tl;dr: this is the one place I've found in Waikiki that lived up to its reputation and price point. It's quite pricey, but entirely worth it. Vegetarians can get a spectacular haut-cuisine dinner, as can vegans.

Consistently wonderful. The seared ahi Tina with. Butter and mustard sauce is incredible.

In the wake of hurricane lane...these ultra-friendly, hard-working folk pushed through! Great happy hour, tasty drinks/food, right off the beach, near all the shops & attractions. Entire experience was fantastic, quite opposite to some of the other trendy bars we visited in the vacinity.

A very fancy for good dining experience. Make sure you have a reservation before you go. We didn’t & ended up having dinner at the bar which was a nice experience as well. Their appetizers & desserts very the highlight of our dining experience.

Fabulous food and great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend

Stephany Su

Overpriced and didn't really think it was anything special compared to other non-hawaii Roy's

Loved the food there. The people were super friendly and made sure you had everything you needed. I don't think the prices are reasonable as I found a little piece of cake worth $24. The restaurant is clean and beautiful. I'd recommend this place as a "last day vacationing" kind of thing.

This is my first time at a 5-star restaurant and it was as I expected. This was a place you would call upscale in menu, environment and hostesses. Enjoyed the care of presentation of each dish and how each taste intrigued my palate.

Wow. Seriously the best scallops I've ever had and I've had them all over the US. Everyone in my party loved their choices as well. I would give a 6th star if I could.

Excellent service and food. Be prepared to spend some, but it's totally worth it!

Roys Waikiki used to be one of our "go to" places to take out of town guests, because it was consistently good. This last visit, the service was not the usual nor was the food. Something seems off.

Great food and flavors with friendly and knowledgeable service. Much like other Roy's you get high quality dishes but pay a premium for them, but it is well worth the price. The poke was delicious and the escargot was rich and flavorful. Our server was friendly and happy to make suggestions with extensive knowledge of the menu.

The best food your probably ever going to find. The Orzo Shellfish is amazing. They take care of you so well here too. This is my favorite restaurant of all time and I will keep coming back so long as I can get to Hawaii.

Steffany Cabrera

Loved the food! I had a three meal course and enjoyed appetizer, entree and a delicious sweet dessert! Worth the price

Had an amazing dinner with some friend a visiting from Japan! What's really cool is that thru slow you to bring in your own bottles of wine and champagne in toy have a really nice knee that you just want top drink. Be nice tho, and call ahead to make a reservation, and at the same time, confirm if you're bottle is ok. There's a few bottle of wine that seems to not be allowed, so check ahead
