We've got all the feddbacks of people who purchased the services and products of Pioneer Inn Grill & Bar (Restaurant) in the state of Hawaii.
At the moment the business has a rating of 4.3 over 5 and this score is based on 248 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an opinions average is really good, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the rating is very faithful. If many people have bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put opinions when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Bar & grill.
Great location with easy access as soon as you get off the ship. Rib eye steak sandwich was excellent. All seating is outside but lots of fans to keep you cool.
Another Sysco restaurant, like all the others in the world. Mostly fried food, with a bar. Drinks are palatible, but not world class. However, kudos to the management for keeping a nice restroom.
On the waterfront. Everything was good.
Super nice bartender. Just had an appetizer but it was good.
We had lunch here with our good friends and next door neighbors from Brisbane,Australia. We were all in town for the the wedding of my American sister-in-law.
Mediocre food. Terrible service! Would not go back
Excellent place to grab a bite & drink! Great bartender waitress !!
Really good prices in a high dollar food area. And the parrot talking makes it a nice different place
A good breakfast. Don't like the parrot squawking loudly!
Historic with decent food, right next to the dock, nice sunset view
Génial. On mange dehors parmi les oiseaux. Piscine pas très loin. Un régal pour les yeux et le ventre.
This is it quaint restaurant with a token parrot that loves to chat. We came here 3 times while on vacation a definite stop!
Great location and ocean views. Happy employees. Good prices. Food is only ok. Don't come if you're looking for an unforgettable meal.
Really old, needs a remodel, average food
My wife and I stayed a week in April of 2018. You could not ask for better service. The staff really care about your comfort and make you feel like you are family. The restaurant has the best coffee on the island. The macadamia nut pancakes are amazing. Its a hidden jewel on Maui.
Fun local experience at the bar. Great Happy hour
Great location, and the fish tacos were some of the best I had all week. We stayed in the hotel, so it was a no-brainer to try this place out. The parrot is entertaining with its nonstop whistling, laughing, and talking. The staff is fairly attentive. My wife had fish and chips and loved it.
I love the French toast with the coconut syrup here. We stop here at least twice every time we come to Maui
Great casual dining experience. Food was great and not overpriced. Friendly staff.
The food here is vastly underrated.
Best Macadamia Nut Pancakes with Coconut Syrup
Ate there twice on our vacation. Breakfast was better than dinner. Service was average at best
Great food! Great people watching!
The food is standard fare but the prices are good for the area. If you're looking for food to fill you up before a boat ride, this place will do.
Food was good enough, the view is great, right next to the harbor. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Quirky atmosphere but authentic and not chain restaurant. Ordered burger with bacon and they cooked meat to order, delicious. Mail tai tray as well. Meal prices were reasonable considering Hawaii.
Had breakfast here. Prices are decent, good menu. I had the Maui Wowee 3 egg omelet with potatoes. Enjoyed the omelet, the potatoes were small cubes that were deep fried, not my favorite preparation for breakfast. I could have had something else for my side, maybe next time.
Love this authentic historical landmark . Great views. Good amenities.
Solid and exceptional breakfast without breaking the bank. The 6 of us all chose different items, and no one was disappointed. The location is next to the ocean, so the views are stunning as good as it gets.
Great service in a wonderful setting with great food .
Best happy hour in Line.
Great location with easy access as soon as you get off the ship. Rib eye steak sandwich was excellent. All seating is outside but lots of fans to keep you cool.
View nice, food was ok
My family and I visited the beautiful Island and had an incredible time. We ate here 3 times and our bartender, Joe was a pro, he truly made our time there unforgettable. His cocktails were the best in Hawaii. I highly reccomend this place and make sure you ask for Joe! GO BLUE!
Great place, great food and great location!
Good setting, comfortable place for happy hour
Good atmosphere and good service.
Great food and drinks, right off the ferry in Lahaina...
Great breakfast menu with a good view. We sat next to the African Grey parrot which was fun. Karolotta was extra friendly and helpful!
We'll priced for the area. Food and service was good. A historical place. Across from amazing banion tree park. I would definitely return again.
Best place to wait for the ferry to Lana'i
Wonderful food And Alex the bird is cool to talk to while dining
Perfect location at the warf. So much history and atmosphere in this building and the food is always good.
Good food good service good prices
Really good drinks! Service was ok, but because the waiter was hustling solo...he managed it well! Cheers!
Delicious breakfast at a fair price
The food was awesome and waiter very friendly.
Was here last night. Enjoyed a lovely whale watching sunset cruise then popped in here for a drink with my male friend. Was mingling with the bartender and another local when a hostile man walks in, claims he is the owner, then whispers to my friend he is the owner and is going to slit his throat if we do not leave right away. Then the bartender (man bun) and the other local push him out the door. Literally we did nothing. Tourists beware. I suggest avoiding this place. I highly doubt that was the owner also. Tourists fund Lahaina, without us no one there would have jobs. An owner would never treat paying customers this way. Sketchy place.
Loved the food!
Yep, that's food. Not really that bad but not that good either. For the area, I wish there were better choices. Nice view, especially at sunset. Feels very tourist-trap-y to me.
Two reviews: the first night we walked in and were seated right away, it was not very busy. We were given menus and water. As we sat there it became apparent we would not be able to stay-- the live band was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. We thanked the waitress and left. Second review: several days later we went for breakfast. There was no loud music, just a parrot in a big cage talking. The breakfast was hot and good. I had scrambled eggs and toast my husband had an omelette. The seating is open air so you can people watch (there was a cruise ship in town) and see the waterfront. We'd go back for breakfast, but not when they have a live band you can hear 4 blocks away.
I love staying at the Pioneer Inn even if (depending on room) there might be early morning back-up beeps from delivery trucks and other street noise. The staff has always been very helpful and the bar is lot's of fun and the food is good. Location, Location, Location.
Great spot for drinks
Quaint old hotel restaurant decorated in a sea theme. Great food and service.
Had the Hana beef w/eggs and rice. Outstanding!

Ok place to eat, great staff. The food you can make at home though so it’s nothing special. Can see the Marina and banyan tree.
Excellent breakfast restaurant. Good service and great food. Even the potatoes stood out.
Great food and pets like the Golden retriever at the bar and the Macaw
The wait, from start to finish was very long, possibly due to holiday. Prices are reasonable and the food was amazing! I would go there again if I had plenty of time to wait for service and the food.
Good food, great waiter
Great deal for breakfast in Lahaina, though the lunch/dinner menu was significantly higher priced. Awesome deal on $4 Mai Thai's for happy hour, 3-6p.
Tourist trap which the tour companies seem to be in on the racket. They talk up the spot for however long prior to arriving and drop you off at place fill with all the same type of junk you spent the past five weekend shoveling out of your recently deceased great aunt attic. Only more expensive.Much more. Edit: Got the over price average food quality bar confused with the seashell store next door.
Great little spot for some breakfast right on the wharf in downtown Lahaina
역사가있는 멋진곳에서의 맛있는 브런치
The wife and I loved it! Nice setting, It's a historic building, and had live entertainment!
Love the food
This is old Lahaina. Best happy hour period...for drinks.

Had the mahi benedict, it was pretty good. The potatoes that come with it are crispy and was a pleasant surprise since I was expecting the typical soft potatoes chunks. Live birds all around made for a cool experience. Heads up: Bathroom is located in the hotel next door and the waitstaff needs to give you a key. Coffee was kind of weak. Overall good experience though and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Meh...
BEST happy hour ever! Five dollar margaritas and Maitais, three dollar premium beers on top, a parrot on the Lanai and killer sky/sea views.
A bit dated but hearty portions
Watch your receipts vs what you get charged. Our waitress took a larger tip than I wrote down.
If you're looking for shiny and new, this is not the place. Most likely it is older than your grandparents. It was built in 1901 and, while well maintained, it has the issues you might expect. But it has wonderful breakfasts at really excellent prices for Maui. I had an omelet and my wife had the macadamia nut pancakes. Both were excellent! I'll especially recommend the pancakes. My wife loved them and I have in previous visits. They are huge and light. And, if they're not big enough, they are also made in the Big Kahuna size. At under $25, the meal was a bargain! Oh, and they also have a very vocal and sometimes rude parrot.
Warm, friendly tavern in the heart of old Lahaina. My wife and I were looking for a pub for a casual dinner and waterfront views. We were not disappointed. The service was friendly and efficient. The value of the meal was excellent, and the bar drinks were really good, with low prices during happy hour. Be sure to say “hi” to the Pioneer’s parrot Alex.
I came here for breakfast and it was damn delicious. Loved the courteousness of the staff. People here are so welcoming. Ordered Egg Sandwich Bagel with Potatoes on side - can be customized however you want it to be. The ambiance is great in this restaurant with vintage and rustic theme all over the place.
I had steak, it was magnificent! The coconut rice was a surprise treat, they make rice with coconut milk and it's ono! I decided to splurge on the grilled pineapple Sunday and it did not disappoint! They even have a talking parrot! I'll be going back.
Good food!!!! Great service! Our waitress Mariah was amazing! She sweet, great to talk to and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant is great too! Great prices. Drafts are very cheap. Just an awesome place to hang out.
Great food and great atmosphere, our bartender Joe was our guide for the entire trip. Where to go and explore, best areas of the island. Not to mention the best mojitos! Will definitely be back on our next trip!
Went there for lunch, which was over priced and "OK". Not really impressed with either the food or service.
Great food, good happy hour drink deals and music. What more can you ask for?
Great drink specials, great views and history here.
Good fish and chips. Lots of breakfast options too. Right in front of the docks. The birds are entertaining mealtime companions
This was a cool little spot for breakfast.
Wonderful service, close to the princess Cruise drop off. Their fish dinner is worth every penny and the people watching is great!
Best breakfast in Lahaina
Had their Hawaiian sweet bread french today and it was delicious.
Authentic whaler hotel. Old world charm and history. The fantastic food was a bonus.

I didn't eat there but I was amused by the African Grey Parrot out front that kept whistling the theme song from the Andy Griffith Show.
Great tasty food n drinks. Reasonable prices as well. Great staff as well

It was an experience that you will never forget sitting by the ocean eating your breafast with birds making there sharp pitched sounds. The food is amazing. I had the macadamia nut pancakes with papyi. Melts in your mouth.
My ceviche was absolutely superb. Nice mix of citrus and spice and onion and tomato really was very very nice. The location is to die for and is just a wonderful place to have a lunch or an early dinner. My service was excellent and the …
Nice
A friendly bar located right next to the boat docks in Lahina. Our bartender Christina was super attentive and made us feel almost like regulars. She even let me try a little mango smoothie she made for one of the staff. We'll be back for sure the next time we're in Maui!
said to be the oldest bar in Lahaina.
We stayed at the Pioneer Inn and ate and drank at the gill and bar. Great food and drinks at very reasonable prices!
We were there in September food awesome friendly staff, great area ,had breakfast and dinner was great all 7 times.:-):-) will go back again this year.
Neat building
Our first place to eat in Maui ended up one of my favs. Ordered the pig sliders and fish tacos. It was the freshest tasting fish I had on the island. Both were very good, and prices not bad. Great to get a table with ocean view and people watch.
Not bad. A limited, quick and easy lunch menu. Perfect location if you're coming back from whale watching, sub tour, or diving. I got the fish n' chips, which were pretty good. A little too "bready" for my liking, but good nonetheless. Caesar salad was good too, but get the dressing on the side. The seasoned waffle fries are really good. Five lunch items on the kid's menu, which fits the bill. Nice wharf atmosphere with pleasant outside seating. Flies are a little bothersome, but... it's outside.
Good food at historic location in the center of old Lahaina. See Alex the parrot and enjoy a bloody mary with breakfast. Close to all boat tours and inter-island ferries.
Great live music, great pricing for the area. Bonus if you are there for happy hour (3-6). Food is decent, but for the price worth it.
Wonderful historic place to eat breakfast! We went on 7/17/17. Jeanne was soo good to us! The food was good and the views of the famous banyan tree really added to the experience.
Oldest hotel on the island, built in 1902. Now is owned by Best Western. We were strolling around Front St and found this bar, with a happy hour. They had live music and drink specials. Staff was friendly, the music was a bit loud, you had to speak over it. But if you're there, just relax and have a $5 Mai Tai
Mediocre food and okay service. They charge you 20% tip without asking making you tip them twice.
Amazing
Friendly staff and great view of the banyan tree and harbour. I’ve only been here for breakfast, and it’s been very good whenever I’ve gone. Order the Loco Moco, you can’t go wrong! :)
Great salads! Even my husband likes them!
A great place to eat breakfast lunch or dinner. Frienly staff and a great location make Pioneer Inn Grill & Bar a winner.
Great place to stay! Right in the middle of the action. Nice restaurant too!
Good food. And a good location.
Great live music. Good food and fabulous service.
Really like the take out breakfast and happy hour specials after work
Favorite place for breakfast
Rooms are clean, staff very helpful, food delicious, live music, all around a nice stay.
I think the photo says it all...Yummy breakfast! Also a great view and service!
My parents and I were surprised this place wasn't packed! Views of the ocean and sunset were stunning, the Hawaiian singer-guitarist was excellent and so classic. My parents slow-danced to Iz' version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and the food was all delicious. Service by Andy was great and the parrot was hilarious. I walked by tonight and they had a terrific four-piece band playing great Hawaiian music, which the owners clearly value!
First breakfast was just OK, gave it a second chance and it was great! Fresh delicious pineapple and tasty potatoes.
Great food, great prices and location. Mac nut pancakes with coconut syrup was our go to.
This place is not what it used to be. Breakfast food is so-so at best. The good news is there isn't a line anymore during the breakfast hours. Plenty of good breakfast restaurants locally, go somewhere else.
ok food for price
We loved the happy hour especially when there was music playing. We liked the sliders with the yummy fries. Chips and salsa were inexpensive and tasty. The drinks were very reasonable. We liked being able to watch all the people coming and going to the harbor.
Even though it was a busy Friday dinner hour, our waitress single handedly kept ten tables of people served. She had no busser, or any other wait help. The ono fish and chips was Delish. The mahi parm with garlic fries was also a big hit with our group. Drinks were perfect. Kudos to the waitress, chef, and barkeep.
Came here for a late lunch. The location is prime, right at the piers, almost everyone will pass by the Pioneer. This is a typical tourist trap. While the service is good and the selection of beers is great, the food is just mediocre. The batter of our fish and chips was so thick, the fish dry and over done. The chicken wings were dry, not juicy at all. The only highlight was the Caesar Salad. The romaine lettuce was fresh and crisp, they put the right amount of dressing. It was reasonably priced, but I wouldn't return. The restrooms are not well taken care of, really dirty!
Love the vibe. The food was good.
Try the club sandwich.
We enjoyed our visit to this place. Our lunch was very good and the waiter was most accommodating.
Good food! Great view of the wharf and boats!
The location is great, the price isn't too bad, service is good, but the food is just mediocre. I had breakfast and it wasn't anything memorable. I would probably choose somewhere else next time.
Local ambiance with incredible macadamia nut pancakes, coconut syrup and bacon! POG mimosas to boot!
A tradition favorite with cold beer and hot women...
Other than a handful of locals at the bar, this place was ominously quiet at around 7pm while several nearby restaurants were quite busy, but it turned out to be a solid choice for dinner nonetheless. The ribeye was prepared with too much sauce/marinade, but it was properly cooked (medium rare) and the sides were tasty. Service was adequate, and the establishment had an historic vibe that's rare on Maui. Apparently the Pioneer Inn is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Hawaii. Who knew?
Great beer and food!
Good food. Pricey. But it Maui everything is pricey.
This was our favorite place to eat while on the Island. We ate breakfast here all but the first morning (because we hadn't found it yet). Staff were very friendly, food was great, location wonderful, and the African Grey was so funny. Can't wait to visit again!
Spring rolls were tasty and the pork sliders were excellent. The fish tacos were overcooked (I thought they had accidentally made them with chicken, they were so tough) though the pico de gallo and avocado aioli were very tasty. The iced tea tasted freshly brewed although not very strong; I can't stand fountain tea and a lot of places around here seem to have it, so that was a nice surprise.
We stopped here for lunch. It was terrific. Food was great. We had the prime rib sandwiches. Service was friendly and on top of everything. Price was good. We will come again.
Great place for a beer or cocktail. On the harbor.
Best happy hour in town. $5 mai tais between 3 and 6. Breakfast is also awesome. Mahi mahi Benedict is so good.
Atmosphere is adorable as it’s exactly next the the pier! Food is very delicious with affordable prices. And everyone is very welcoming and helpful!
A historic place (opened 1901) with a colonial ambiente.
After days of trying new foods, our hamburgers were delicious! Their fries were great! Our server was friendly and attentive. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Best Fisch dinner in Lahaina
Funky down home atmosphere
I think the photo says it all...Yummy breakfast! Also a great view and service!
Prompt service and a friendly staff. Had breakfast which was good. The Macadamia nut pancakes are great. My wife's eggs came out perfectly where my omelette came out a bit overdone. I would suggest the breakfast potatoes. Great price as well, something not easy to find, especially in the resorts to the north. For those who care, the syrup provided is not real maple syrup. The coconut syrup is good.
(Translated by Google) Nice friendly service. Only the food and drink had a funny aftertaste. (Original) Netter freundlicher Service. Bloß das Essen und Trinken hatte komischen Nachgeschmack.
(Translated by Google) Good lunch on the marina with sea view (Original) Buon pranzetto sul porticciolo con vista mare
Lovely place!
My parents and I were surprised this place wasn't packed! Views of the ocean and sunset were stunning, the Hawaiian singer-guitarist was excellent and so classic. I walked by tonight and they had a terrific four-piece band playing great Hawaiian music, which the owners clearly value!
Went there to grab something small and quick. Had the fried calamari. It comes with this mango sauce. So delicious. Its located next to the beach, great spot to watch the sun set.
Loved Alex the bird. He says Aloha and makes R2D2 noises : ) The nachos were delicious and the linguini pasta was fabulous but also order a garlic bread!
Good food and place
Best experience ever!I'm Argentinian and the meet was almost better than home!fantastic!
Loosey service
We ate breakfast here and it was very good, right by the beach, and the staff were pleasant
Solid, practical breakfast. Friendly Staff. Really cute Amazon Grey parrot.
Oldest bar in all of Hawaii. Drinks are cheap, and so is the language. Drink with the locals and let it all hang out. Not for the faint of heart.
Best Sandwich
Truly the worst meal I had on Maui. Not only was the food not good, the service was appalling.
We waited 8 minutes before anyone showed up to seat us. Our server then came to take our order, said "just a minute" and disappeared for a few minutes. She was the least friendly and attentive server we've had in our two weeks. She never checked on us, we had to track her down to get a water refill. A positive is the food is pretty good.
