REVIEWS OF Nobu Honolulu IN Hawaii

Atmosphere and food was good but the service was slow and not the best. For the money paid we expected service to be much more up to standard. The waiter was not knowledgeable and somewhat lazy. The good runners were actually the ones that deserved some praises. They were quick to refill water and attentive. I think I would rather go to Harbor Restaurant above Nico s or Signature Steak House next time.

Bronte

Best sushi I have ever had. It was my first time trying Nobu as there an none here in Australia. Warning: it does cost a lot, but I would highly recommend it as it is amazing.

tom kaiser jr

the food was amazing the service was great one of the best experiences we had while we were there

DeShannon Higa

Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. Perfectly attentive waitstaff, sublime food. Meticulous attention to detail. In the top 1% of all restaurants in Hawaii. No exaggeration.

FREDDIE EDER

The presentation was great and the wait staff were attentive and friendly. Although the presentation was excellent, the quality of the food was not what I've expected from an upscale establishment with an upscale price.

Martin Herman

Great atmosphere and modern furnishings. Food was delicious and presentation was very appealing. Pricey in comparison to other local sushi outfits. Server a bit impatient due to our detailed examination of the menu offerings. Ebi shrimp head which I've eaten fried and crunchy at other places, was a bit stale. This led me to conclude that the head were cooked earlier instead of when it is ordered.

Christopher delos Reyes

Simply amazing atmosphere and service. We did the Signature tasting and you can never go wrong with the chef’s specials. We had Derek as our server and he was beyond fantastic.

Adrian Kjellberg

Amazing

Kevin Wang

Omakase menu is incredible, service is impeccable!

Hapa Kama‘aina

Never disappointed when I go here, except when I look at the bill haha. BUT this was my first time going here for happy hour and it's actually a really good deal. Food was really good, so we're the drinks.

Karla L

Eating at Nobu Honolulu is one of the best food experiences ever! It was our first time there, so we tried the Nobu Honolulu tasting. It was about 7 courses of cold and hot plates. The sushi and waguy beef were the best. They both melted in your mouth. The food is very fresh and prepared very well. There is $7 valet parking right across the Buca Di Beppo restaurant and a nice walkway up to the main entrance to the restaurant. Google maps directions needs to be a little fine tuned for this place. It first directed us to the condo entrance of this building, Waiea.

Kim Nguyen

Overrated, overpriced. We had an RSVP for 8pm, show up 15 minutes prior, but was not seated til after 20 wait meanwhile the restaurant had open tables. Host & Server acted we weren't not good enough for him or the restaurant, the paying customers. My man and bite the bullet because we rarely see each other so we ignored the server's stuck up attitude. We ordered 3 plates, and drink, bill came out almost $200, plus the rude server's tip. Nothing special about fried wonton skin top with raw tuna and calling it taco. Very disappointed.

Shirley Yeung

The service is very friendly. The ambiance was really fun and it really added to the atmosphere of the restaurant. We did the tasty omakaze menu and it was really delicious. Fresh ingredients. They also had a great selection of drinks. Really great place if you are celebrating a special occasion.

Paz And Chloe

AMAZING chocolate cake and fast service:) I recommend this place 1000000%

Joe Lally

What can I say Nobu is Nobu high end and excellent. Had dinner there twice on my vacation.

Alex Sun

Favorite: Miso Butterfish, Jalapeno Hamachi, Salmon Sushi & Rock Shrimp with Spicy Cream Sauce. Pricey, but worth it when you wanna spoil yourself.

Brendan Dhein

Two and a half stars honestly. Food was hit or miss with some fantastic did and some items that were merely OK. The service was a definite miss, especially for the price point of the restaurant. The table was cleared slowly and sloppily between courses. Our drinks languished empty. Come desert, my wife had her teapot top open to signal for more hot water and the waiter took the teapot never returning it. When my wife asked the waiter then went into a long digression that didn't culminate in "Sorry let me grab you some more tea." This ended our otherwise OK meal on a sour note. Then to top of the evening, the waiter kindly circled the gratuity guide which happened to run from 18% - 22% which was a bit humorous since even by US standards the service we received was at best 15%. I certainly hope the restaurant improves, but I can't recommend them at this time.

Amazing dinner. Worth every penny. Staff was amazing all around the restaurant. Will definitely try more next time.

Wil Northup

A little to expensive

Thomas Hertle

Food is very good, service is not the best!

Adamo Stivala

Although it’s not as busy as other locations such as nyc or Miami, the food is on par and sushi is fresh with local sourcing. Some of the wait staff seems undertrained but the sushi chefs are legit

Priscilla Dabit

Amazing food & atmosphere. Great bar

Delicious food....., at a higher price tag. GORGEOUS classy Republican women love this place....and I love them.

Brent Nichols

ive always been a nobu fan and that hasnt changed. had an amazing dinner here and couldnt rave enough about the food or service. its not cheap but honestly so worth a visit. had a lovely birthday dessert from the restaurant which was a lovely surprise. highly recommend!

steven walter

Value is just not there. Food is definitely good, but there is much better sushi for half the price in the city.

Amanda Guerin

What a disappointment this place was. I’m giving 2 stars because the food was nice: over priced and the service very poor. We were rushed through like a fast food venue. I’d go elsewhere

Ron Ald

Best Bar

Was great Took my wife for her Birthday. Enjoyed the food and the different wines by the glass. For me just about the best miso butterfish I ever had.

The Nobu empire reaches all corners of the globe. The biggest challenge with a restaurant empire this big is consistency and quality control. The original Nobu in Tribeca, New York when Matsuhisa was the Chef, before his global domination, will always be the gold standard. The service is good but the consistency of the food could be improved.

Tom D

Very nice and helpful jewelry store. They work with you to find out want kind of jewelry works for you and your budget.

Bennie Ann Duenas Mesa

Amazing food, atmosphere, waitstaff

Dimah M

The absolutely fantastic restaurant for me! The best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been in the world! The food is the art there. The world class service. Nobu is Nobu! The location is great. It is situated in Ward Village area where a lot of modern and trendy venues and shops are. I recommend it for residents and visitors of Hawaii. Even if you were in other Nobu restaurants around the world.

Masaya I

Food, drink, interior, service, just everything is gorgeous. Not traditional Japanese, but uniquely improvised cuisine is fantastic.

Frances Holland

My second experience and YES every bite of a Nobu creation is a experience of senses! We went for an early dinner and decided to sit outside in the open bar and lanai area where we enjoyed almost every happy hour special and then some. Each dish was so flavorful! Even the spicy edamame was the best I've ever had. Happy Hour is 5-7pm daily and is the affordable way to dine at one of the finest restaurants in Honolulu. Thank you for the wonderful service and knowledgeable and right-on suggestions on what to order!

Robert Tetlock

We had a nine person omakase which was out of this world amazing. Twelve courses that were expertly presented and ordered to give us one of the best taste experiences we've ever had.

Sooyeon Roh

We were group of 6 and ordered premium omakase. Some of us could not eat raw food due to health conditions so we asked them to surprise us on some of the courses. In general, the ingredients were top quality and their services were excellent. However, this would not be the place if you really want the authentic Japanese omakase style. We definitely enjoyed the great ambience and the desserts were really great as well.

Great food

lee merschon

True to the nobu brand, this place had high quality dishes and a trendy crowd in a trendy spot with trendy art. If you like that type of thing and overpaying for food doesn't bother you, then you'll enjoy this place.

hunterandgatti sl

Worst service ever, our party was finishing eating before everybody in the table was still ordering. Useless manager, very desorganized.

Precious Precious

This is my second time at Nobu's. Never disappoints !!! I ordered: * Baked King crab with truffle - comes with slightly but perfectly seasoned raddish.... sweet citrus... great compliment. - However it's a LOT!! Recommended to share with at least one other person. - Also option to get it with snow crab for half the price. :) He ordered: * Prime ribeye steak with 3 sauces (raddish sauce, shoyu ponzu sauce, fish flakes) + caramelized onions . - Lots of veggies (cabbage, pumpkin, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, bell pepper, cauliflower, broccoli, potato) We shared: * Waygyu manapua - Rich and decadent. Creamy center. Slightly spicy-- watch for the bite!! * Butter mochi dessert with icecream - You will not regret this warm, sweet, cold, mix of DELICIOUSNESS!!! Service: - Our server was TJ and he was so awesome!! We were unable to RSVP since they were full. Luckily, we were able to walk in and score seats at the sushi counter. Even more lucky that we got TJ as our waiter. TJ helped us from start to end! He did a great job in reassuring my boyfriend (who is allergic to seafood) and providing excellent MEATY recommendations. :) TJ really went out of his way to provide above and beyond customer service to us. Good food, great service, and even better company. :)

Fantastic food and drinks

Wonderful restaurant! !

If you’ve been to one Nobu, you’ve been to them all.

Excellent food and customer service! Our server Ryan was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Everything he recommended was absolutely delicious! Nobu Honolulu is definitely the place to go for sushi and drinks. Highly recommend!

Beautiful decor..check..attentive service...check...fabulous food? Forget it! I had no idea how overpriced this place was until I sat down and they handed me the menu! Still, I thought its Christmas Eve so treat yourself! Well $93 later (including tip) I had eaten a Nigiri roll which was no bigger round than my thumb and was supposed to have unagi (freshwater eel) in it but somehow it got lost in the cucumber for $14 and a small piece of black cod.. delicious yes but at $39 was at least $10 overpriced add in a $14 drink and a bowl of rice and wham bam youre out over $70...add in the tip and its up to over $90. I have eaten lots of Japanese food in the last 40 years in the LA area and other places and its usually not cheap but this place was just not satisfying. I couldnt help but notice that there were no Asians in sight other than the wait staff either. Never a "good sign" in an Asian restaurant!

Jay Lamping

Wow! This place is so cool.

Nathan Chapman

Great service but they nickel and dime you. $2 for spicy mayo? Gyfou

Calvin Cohen

We are big Nobu fans - have been to LA and Melbourne and enjoyed both. But here things were a bit less dazzle. The salmon tartare was a highlight - minced and swimming in wasabi. But the other choices were good not great and we know he can be great. The mushroom/conch was great if you love mushrooms - with a hint of conch. The wine list is distinctly lackluster! The room feels a bit chintzy too, though at least there's room btwn tables.

Charles Young

Great sushi and Japanese food. You must try the omakase at least once. The food is more a flavor experience than simply great fish. I'd say, the specialty here is the use of flavors and how much you can taste the difference between them.

scott siem

Awesome, waiter was very helpful with the menue. Would recommend highly. #romantic

Kala R

really expensive but our server was friendly today. not very busy and there was no wait

Mark Bowen

Very happy to have stopped here. The valet parking is a little weird and looks more like a delivery entrance. You have to really look out for the dark sign at the front. Otherwise it was some of the best food we had while on Oahu.

Zachary Harrison

Very nice atmosphere. Sat on the deck next to the road and the road noise did not bother. Sushi was very tasty and well priced. Good price fantastic atmosphere.

kim nguyen

Overrated. We had an RSVP for 8pm, show up 15 minutes prior, but was not seated til after 20 wait meanwhile the restaurant had open tables. Host & Server acted we weren't not good enough for him or the restaurant, the paying customers. My man and i bite the bullet because we rarely see each other and we were there to enjoy each other company so we ignored the server's stuck up attitude. We ordered 3 plates, and drink, bill came out almost $200, plus the rude server's tip. Nothing special about the food. Portion are appetizer sized. Very disappointed. Even for Honolulu's stander it's overpriced.

The Nobu Waikiki is a unique and modern style of Japanese restaurant which combines fair Asian cuisines with great vibes. Prior to our dinner reservations at the Nobu, we actually wanted to dine at Alan Wong's Restaurant, but unfortunately, we were told by the RH concierge that the Alan Wong's Restaurant were fully booked, therefore, we decided to dine at Nobu knowing the restaurant is also one of President Obama's favorites and we wanted to give it a try. While the Nobu was indeed quite trendy and modern, with some freshly made cuisines, namely, seafood cerviche and new style salmon for appetizers, black cod miso, duck breast and assortment of sushi plus some single orders of sashimis, as recommended by our waiter, but I found the serving size a little disconcerting – simply put, portions were just too small. In addition, the service was not very Hawaiian, everything was rushed, and one of my relatives needed to chase down the waiter a few times just to get refills for her soda. Overall, I would say the serving size and the level of service based on dollar-value of the meal were disappointing in this regard.

Keith Williams

Japanese food with Nobu twists. A bit expensive and yet good value. The restaurant can accommodate large groups. Convenient location and parking. Worth it.

Janice Ishihara

Nice, cool, ambiance. More money, more food. Lol!

David Edelstein

Always LOVE Nobu. All around the world. Was at the opening in Tribeca and continued to oinve since then. London, LA, Honolulu, all.

Vignesa Moorthy

Really great experience. Pricey

Hermenegildo Cabanas

Good food good service

We came with high hopes, but left with disappointment. Our server, whose name wasn't provided, ruined much of the evening. We are vegan and he seemed annoyed with our questions and became more and more disinterested with providing the minimum amount of kindness a server should give. I've never experienced a more rude close out then his. As for the food, I had 2 of the 3 vegan reccomendations. My vegetable sushi was dry even after soaking it in as much soy sauce as one could stand. My reccomended eggplant miso was mushy and flavorless and I was charged $5 to add flavor to it. I loved my husband's mushroom tempura; we laughed at how many times multiple bus boys came to pick it up before we finished all of it. I also liked that the food came quickly and the ambiance was nice. 2 stars because food taste and a decent waiter was lacking.

Dana Hinson

Derek was a wonderful server!! Highly recommend!

Roy Lo

Came here for the restaurant week. My friends and I chose this place understanding the price will be high and quantity will be small. However, the quality and taste of food fell far below our expectations. Would not recommend this place.

Danny Gorman

The food is great, like other Nobu locations; however, I was not impressed by the location or decor. The restaurant is located inside a hotel on a street lined with other tall hotels.

Charles DeLuca

A great place for DJ on a Friday night. The sushi is good too!

Ricardo T

Everything was very good not perfect. We got omakase. Very well served compared to others regular omakase, 4 cold dishes (yellow tail with ponzu, scalop ponzu sesame oil, sealed tuna salad, niguiri), 3 hot dishes (blackcod with miso, sealed ground beef with caramelized onions, soup). Best dish goes for Black cod, the fish was perfect, Sweet missô sauce, crispy radish, ginger root after to finish.

Excellent

Celebrated my birthday here and it definitely did not disappoint. I'm a big fan of Nobu Malibu and try to visit everytime I'm in the area. Naturally, I just had to try Nobu Honolulu to compare. I don't regularly enjoy having raw fish because of the fishy after taste but I gotta say that that is not a problem at Nobu. We absolutely loved everything they served us and will definitely be back. The sushi was slightly better than Nobu Malibu and tasted more fresh (probably because it's Hawaii...). I will definitely come back here if I ever visit Honolulu again.

Takayuki Takegami

Wonderful place. Great fishes, atomosphere, staffs.

Edward M

Pau hana drinks are good and sushi is inventive and fresh, but anyone from hawaii can tell you there are better spots for high quality makase in honolulu

Sean D

So consistently excellent despite location.

Jane S

Great food, great service and beautiful atmosphere. You can never go wrong here. Yes it's a little pricey but your paying for unique dishes with amazing flavour.

When we arrived, we were immediately able to seat ourselves at a table of our choice at the covered patio. My date had brought her dogs and it was no issue. Later, one of the waitstaff even brought water bowls for them. When the waitstaff found out we had reservations, we were given the option to remain out on the patio for the time being as we had already ordered drinks (we had arrived at the tail end of happy hour) and appetizers. While waiting for our order, we were offered sparkling water. The appetizers, kurobuta andagi and Waygu manapua, did not have the expected texture associated with andagi and manapua. However, they were delicious nonetheless. We ordered a second round, ahi poke and, our first "hot" dish, rock shrimp tempura with butter ponzu sauce. As with the first, our second round of orders arrived in a short period of time. The ahi had the firm flesh of freshness. Thinly sliced onions and a type of limu complimented the fish. The rock shrimp tempura resembled popcorn shrimp. The shrimp was firm, the tempura batter crust light and crisp despite being already tossed with the rather savory sauce. At this point, because of the growing chill, we asked to move to an indoor table. In a remarkably short time, our table was ready and we were escorted in. Our drinks followed us in and the inquiries about if we needed more water were frequent. Our next orders were the kurobuta pork belly with Brussell sprouts and black cod with a miso sauce. We had considered ordering one order each of the pork belly, but the waiter stated that the dish of 8 pieces could be an entree if accompanied with rice. I opted for a bowl of rice, my date did not. The pieces of pork belly were savory, not greasy. The sprouts were tender and mild in flavor. The black cod was slightly oily, but flaked readily. At this point, we requested the dessert menu and coffee. My date ordered the bento box, which arrived in an actual lacquered wooden box. Props for presentation there. The gelato was cold, smooth, and melted away quickly, leaving an aftertaste of matcha on the tongue. I ordered the lemon crunch, which was a surprising variety of tastes and textures. The lemon custard was surprisingly sweet. The raspberry gelato tart and refreshing. The crunch seemed to have bits of dried sugared fruit. And nestled in the topping of whipped cream and chocolate shavings was a sugared ginger cookie. Overall, our experience with the food and the service was an excellent one. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth it. Would return, would recommend to family and friends.

Jaimie Later

Come for the amazing food stay for the excellent service.

Conrad Paz

The bar is set high with the Malibu location. Food is good, service is very good, but ambience is lacking. We'll continue to enjoy the Nobu experience, just not at this location.

Naz Khan

The food was good but not amazing for what your paying the atmosphere and service wasn’t amazing either... I guess we’re used to a very high level of hospitality in Vancouver.

Paymon Ghafouri

Was not impressed at all. I had heard a lot of raves about this Sushi Chain however I've had better sushi.

brad mcrae

Amazing food, atmosphere and staff that would bend over backwards for you! :D

A. Hutto

Great service. Tasty food. Lovely atmosphere.

Rene Reiner

Great, friendly service, we had good experience there, tasty food. the price. $$$.

Wallace Chow

Where do I start? We were a party of four and they wouldn't allow us to sit at the sushi bar even though it was empty the entire night. We wanted to celebrate birthdays for two of us and ordered omakase for the entire group plus drinks and expensive sake. Total bill was $1200. Very underwhelming for the price paid. We've eaten in many fine restaurants throughout the world including other Nobu locations. Their brand has certainly gotten diluted and is no longer the unique experience they once were famous for. The dishes weren't that unique or plentiful. Their omakase cost $160 per person for 8 dishes. The wagu beef dish was the best of the group but hardly worth the price. Next dish was a pretty typical cold soba dish we could find at a conventional $20 meal. Service was ok but uninspired, no excitement or passion in their delivery. For $300 per person, we expect a much higher quality and offering. All in all, over priced and over hyped.

Coach Taylor

Everything was amazing! The seabass was just unreal. Melt in your mouth! Be prepared to spend some money. The service is amazing as well.

John Glaze

Great sushi do the chef special

Ceca Ceca

It was very disappointing and not what I expected for the high price. The $120 signature tasting menu included fish that tasted fishy (one day old raw fish), beef that didn’t taste fresh either, and ‘shave ice’ for dessert

S M

Our waiter David was an excellent server, provided excellent descriptions which led to us having an amazing meal. We had monkfish pate, beef tobanyaki, squid, oysters, sushi, and mochi - all superior to any I've had elsewhere. Probably the best sidecar I've ever experienced too. Super modern atmosphere yet laid back and unpretentious considering this is top shelf fare. Extremely welcoming staff too. Thank You!

James Liu

Convenient, fast and tasty food if you are in a rush.

Rachel Adams

Best sushi experience I have ever had. From service to food quality to presentation...this is where it's at!

Austinite’s Home & Lawn

Been to Nobu elsewhere, first time in Honolulu. Always had a 5 star experience until now. I took my date and we chose the exclusive chef special. Lobster was one of the courses and it was inedible. Like chewing rubber. The other 8 dishes were mediocre at best. Some completely flavorless. Overall, the experience was not worth the near $600. I will absolutely go back to Nobu in other cities, but never again in Honolulu. The chef did send a complimentary dish to make up for the lobster, which actually was the best one of all. So I certainly appreciate that. If this was a $150 dinner, it may have earned them an extra star, but in this case, 2 is a fair evaluation for my experience. I will give them a 5 star rating on presentation, but that unfortunately did not follow up with pleasant tastings. The wait staff were very attentive and kind.

Peter Richards

Beautifully presented modern Japanese food with a well oiled service team.

Garyth Dalton

Amazing food .. fantastic chef .. awesome service .. our best food experience in Oahu.

Kathleen Anson

Very attractive, dark space. We chose to eat in the bar. Both the sushi and the small plates we tried were delicious, as were the drinks, and the service was good. We left just in time before the see-and-be-seen crowd got too annoying.

Ryan Tanino

Try their omakase! Service and and staff were great!

Anthony Wong

Nobu Honolulu is my favourite Nobu. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are fantastic, the atmosphere is cool, and the service is excellent. I've been to this restaurant many times, including when it was still Nobu Waikiki, and it never fails to please. The menu is innovative and the flavours are well thought out. Highly recommended!

Ed L.

Can't believe the "incompetence" of the 5 sushi chefs at this location. I went there in October 2012 with a party of 4. Only 2 customers at the sushi bar. Was told sushi bar was not booked. Was informed by the manager they could not seat a party of 4 because the 5 sushi chefs couldn't handle 4 seated @ 1 time & also make sushi for the regular restaurant which was only half full for the next 3 hours. Nobu LA & NYC never had this problem with my 4

Michael Yin

Food didn't live up to expectations or price tag as compared to other restaurant degustations. The food just simply wasn't that delicious. However, the one star review was for another reason - horrible service. Worst of all I was asked by a server at the end how the meal went and I gave my honest feedback, to which he had the gall to say that the degustations (the Honolulu tasting set was the specific one I ordered) aren't actually that good and that I should have ordered ala carte, implying it was my fault that I made the wrong choice of ordering the average meal. You should never put down your own chef for anything on the menu let alone a degustation, and you should never blame the customer.

Eric Spitz

Plates are extremely creative, with phenomenal presentation and promising flavor pairings. But it's questionable if that's worth the price point. It's certainly worth a one time visit, but I couldn't imagine going back repeatedly.

Cadey Lini

This little spot is by far one of my most favorite restaurants in HI ! If it's your first time here, you can't go wrong with ordering the sea bass. Take a bite of the buttery sea bass, followed with some chewy wasabi noodles, and end it with some crunchy green beans. Then repeat! There is also limited seating so make sure to book a reservation!

Lachlan Brown

Everything Nobu should be - impeccable service, excellent food, and a beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend.

Curt Poling

Let's start with the Valet Parking. It took us circling a dead end street that took us in front of Parc Hotel three times before anyone approached us. We even stopped the first two times in hopes of someone coming out of the cracks to aid in our journey. Once inside, we were greeted by a very young and unprofessional hostess staff. Once seated, the waitress asked us if we wanted drinks. She then waited on the table next to us as. She left then came back to the table next to us and started explaining the menu to the two ladies. We were then approached by a waiter who asked if we wanted drinks. After explaining to him that we had already been waited on, he explained that he would be waiting on us. The menu was explained to us from the top priced item, then a very small trickle as to what else was available. Of which were equally priced. I expressed my frustration with no real feedback. We came to the restaurant for sushi and heard how amazing it was. After researching the restaurant I realized the founder was a sushi chef and raved about how important it was to bring his expertise into a market that was saturated and took great pride in what he could produce with credentials added. Ummm... The sushi was much of what one would expect to purchase in a prepackaged selection of sushi in a grocery store chain. Although the hot and spicy seafood soup was stellar and satisfying. The waiter was an amateur in handling the situation with nothing more than a deer in the headlights response. Paid our bill with a substantial tip for the mere fact of morale. Two thumbs down.

Tony Gill

do not miss going here! In all the cities we travel to this is the only restaurant we will dine at twice on a one week trip.

Gregory Lyles

Excellent place for a meal that is so exceptional you will continue coming back.....and the next time is better than the last.

ScottTAsh

We haven't been to Nobu Honolulu since they moved to this location and were disappointed it was quite far from our hotel. But I can say that was the only disappointment we experienced. The food, cocktails, service and the new (to us) space were just as good, if not better than we expected. There is so much to choose from and if you have a group of 6 or 8 you'll get to experience so much more. With just the two of us we will need to come back multiple times to work through all the dishes we weren't able to try this time. Rest assured, we'll be back!

John Appleby

At best average. Honestly the worst Nobu I’ve been to, including the landlocked Budapest. There are many better restaurants than this in Honolulu. Chef Nobu needs to focus on the consistency of his brand. The sushi at our work cafeteria is prepared with more care, and the service was appalling. After not having seen our server for 30 minutes, the bus boy had to go and find him and reorder our food, after which we were double charged. My advice is to look elsewhere.

Kahikina Logan

Meeh..... Not much to say, but since Google keeps thinking I went here when I didn't. I actually was down the street closer to Ward Ave. However my friend Charley went when they first opened and he didn't have much good to say about the place. He all told us to save our money because there are way better places around town. Two stars for Google. Stop trying to get me to rate places that I haven't been two. If you're going to stalk me through out my life please do a better job at it. I already tried to remove Nobu but you insist I was there.

Grace NuDelman

My bf, brother and I had the worst ever experience at this Nobu - we frequent the Nobu in Malibu and the Matsuhisa in West Hollywood on a weekly basis in la and cannot believe how atrocious the food was. We know Nobu and cannot believe a restaurant under his acclaimed name could be so poor. The manager was not helpful at all and had no widespread knowlegde of the dishes. We were told we had to order 6 oz of Wagyu and that it would be completely plain which we were anticipating because of how amazing it is in LA - well we probably ate 2 oz worth due to how unflavorful and stale it was. The sashimi was served with skin on and all tasted like it went bad. All in all horrible experience if you've never been to a Nobu before and want to go for the "notoriety" of the restaurant then do so but know that if you want quality I would go elsewhere. We all feel sick.

Zach Pierleonardi

Greatest Nobu experience I have ever had. My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon in Hawaii and decided to got to our favorite restaurant Nobu. We have been to a few before but never in Hawaii. We were blown away by the professionalism of the staff, quality of food, and hospitality by Chef Matt. We decided to splurge and ordered the Teppan experience and were not disappointed. My wife and I enjoyed the best meal of our lives thanks to Chef Matt. We even came back a few nights later to enjoy more food. Chef Matt remembered us and gave us a complementary order of Rock Shrimp. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Mako Shark

IDIOT DE DUMMY!

Jackie Lain

It’s Nobu, but not the best service I’ve ever had in my life. My husband and I were visiting Hawaii for our honeymoon. We’re from NYC, so we’re used to fast service and the staff here seemed pretty aloof. It almost seemed like our servers forgot about our table. Obviously the food was amazing, but some of our platters took so long to get to us that they were not as fresh as we expected. Overall I would say this place could be top of the line if the servers took their jobs seriously.

Ashley Christenson

The service was wonderful. They were kind and attentive. The food was awful. Extremely disappointed with the flavors, or really the lack of flavor, especially when expecting something like a wasabi salsa or jalapeño sauce. If it wasn't the lack of flavor it was the consistency of the food: from tough and rubbery to improperly cooked. On top of all of this the portion sizes were stingy for the amount being spent. The only reason I gave any stars is because the wait staff.

Walter Torres

Is great

Adam Stevens

Food and service was great!! First time to Nobu and will definitely add to my list of go to places. The server offered great recommendations and the Cherry dessert was amazing! Thanks!

Summer G

Went during restaurant week to try something new and we really enjoyed ourselves. The service was great, the cocktails were unique and enjoyable, and the sake was so smooth. We liked the menu options that offered the option to try as many specialty dishes as possible. The Garlic shrimp was flavorful, the Tuna was fresh!, the Wagyu beef in any form (tacos/dish) was delicious and tender, as well as the sirloin with it's many sauce options. We were a lil rocked by the prices but felt the experience was well worth it!

Fantastic setting, delicious, great atmosphere...

I came here for my birthday last year while vacationing in Waikiki. I've personally never been to any of the Nobu restaurants, and usually prefer to go to Morimoto, but all my friends insisted I go, and raved about this place. For starters, we had the Nobu tacos, they were just okay, sort of bland; nothing too special to write home about. My boyfriend had the omakase and I ordered a few extra items from the menu. None of the dishes really stood out to me, besides the rock shrimp. I enjoyed the presentation more than the meal, sadly. The ambiance was nice, but I'm not sure I'd come again next time I'm on the island. Going to Morimoto instead ;)

Visited for our wedding anniversary and got the classic tasting menu.. food was amazing and service was great. Would also recommend arriving early and visiting the bar next door..

OMG!! Sublime. Service was impeccable and food was Fab. Fantastic experience!! Soooo good. You must try this place. Seriously!

Maxwell Sowell

the most hit or miss fine dining experience I think I've ever had. also, the combination of the music and the sound-reflective ceiling makes it impossible to hear anyone who isn't two feet from your ear.

Great food and service

Food was great. The Sushi chefs were fairly friendly. The wait staff was good but not excellent. The atmosphere was elegant. I say its an absolut must in Oahu or NYC.

Anderson Ayala

Great food and service. A bit pricey but worth it.

Jusgo 360

Great restaurant tucked in a neat little core we of Waikiki. The crowds are small and I would say that the prices are decent for the quality of food. I have been back multiple times and enjoy everything about it each time I go.

Richard Morrison

Great ambiance great food but a little expensive. That said if I wanted to impress this would definitely be an option.

Hide Kondo

So good

Kayla Morikami

Expensive but so good.

Nothing really special here. Waikiki is jam packed with amazing restaurants, this place doesn't really live up to its name.

Elaine Chan

This is the worst omakase I've ever had. Nothing was amazing, creative, or memorable. Food was just done right. The first course was already the best and everything went downhill after. For $160 omakase, my friends who ordered a la carte with their signature dishes had better food than what was supposed to be the best selections from the chef. Just to name a few of the disappointments: the chives on the seared salmon was old, the dressing on the amber jack was over powering, and the wagyu was chewy. They sure know how to piss you off further though, because we got lava cake which anyone could make any day at home or from any franchise restaurant. I have never been so pissed after an omakase experience and I hope no one makes the same mistake and have to end a meal with such feelings. Please see photos.

Every item we ordered was outstanding, the service was brilliant, my highlight of the night was the Lobster ceviche.

Braden Michaud

Cold and chic ambience and atmosphere. It was not busy when we went. The wait staff were very good to us. We were disappointed in the food. The rock shrimp tempura was the best, the crispy rice was good, but the spicy tuna that came with it was bland. The poke bowl was good, but Simi's cafe in Gilbert, AZ makes better poke with more flavors for $10 and it's 10x the size. Overall expect a big bill and small supper. If you want great sushi, go to Yanagi Sushi! Atmosphere is very different, but warm and extra cozy.

its aimed towards non-Asians. if u r Japanese, i highly recommend that u not go. its more of "whats this?!?" as its fusion! if u want straight up Japanese food then go to Kaiwa or Imanas.

Love this place! Anyone searching this restaurant in 2018 ought to take note that the address in wrong - it's NO longer at 2233 Helumoa Rd. in Waikiki's Parc Hotel. It has MOVED to 1118 Ala Moana Blvd. in the luxury residential tower, Waiea. Just saved you an Uber fare, thank me later.

Nobu takes fine dining to the next level. Amazing experience from the moment you walk in! We got there early to have a drink at the bar, very chilled and relaxing area to start off with. The cocktails are amazing and good selection of beer on tap Our waiter was great very friendly and expanded the menu with such passion, I would of ordered ice cubes if he was reading them from the menu. The food was on point, quick to come out, fresh and quality is guaranteed. 6/5 stars

B

Food was excellent. Staff was proficient but not very polished or friendly. Not what I expect when I dine at an establishment of this caliber.

Claudia Colantonio

We were glad to see that this restaurant moved from its Waikiki location because it used to be hard to find. This one is much better as well as for the interior which is much more spacious. We also liked how they made their bar area. The sushi has always been on point and we're happy to go back when we're on the island. Try their tuna tataki, it's so good!

Emma Brown

Delicious but pricy!

Tony Broach

Nobu waikiki never disappoints. This place is awesome! Food and service is unbelievable!

Jay Yu

Great Nobu classics plus new items. Sake, cocktail and wine options are great. Sushi is of course top-notch.

Casey Goss

Incredible! The only downside is the price compared to the amount you get. Otherwise great atmosphere and food!!

Anton Steenman

Fantastic food and service!

Ron Leibfreid

Menu hasn’t changed much (ever??) but still good after 15+ years. Been in NY, Vegas, Milan, and now Honolulu. Definitely defines a category of restaurant that perhaps it started or at the very least made the biggest impact of any in the segment. Shrimp appetizer, yellowtail jalapeño, sashimi salad, black cod, etc... all standbys. Haven’t had the Kobe beef in a while but that used to be phenomenal as well. Tried the steak cut into strips to share this visit, definitely enjoyable and good if you want just a taste of beef like the Kobe was. A bit out of the way in Honolulu but I guess if you’re going to Nobu you’re not going to mind the extra time getting there.

rodrigo rodriguez

Ambiance is great bit the attention to the art of Japanese cuisine is superb!

Olesya Kulikova

Tried signature tasting menu. Everything was tasty and we were pretty full even before beef arrived. Service is quick, sometimes though waitress would start burning new dish and only then notices that plates from previous turn were not brought away. Ousters were better than in France!

Phil Ventura

Passed a very pleasant evening on Nobu’s lanai. Starting with their happy hour is a must. Great way to sample menu and save some $. All dishes were fresh and memorable. Drinks were good but not great. Service was attentive. And atmosphere is trendy/upscale.

Jim Mansfield

I have been to several Nobu's around the world and this one is great. The local dishes are great and the service was superb. they also have a nice outdoor bar area.

We've been going out every year to different eateries on Oahu for our anniversary and I figure we try this place out cause the reviews were pretty good. So as a first timer here, we made reservation for 7pm dinner time. We were promptly seated when we arrived. Our server (not sure of his name) greeted us and offered us the wine menu. Came back a few minutes later and asked if we needed help with anything, which we did. He recommended some stuff but we still wasn't sure what to get. Same goes for the dinner menu. He explained what was what on the menu such as cold and hot food, soups, sushi, and hand rolls. We decided to get a few drinks, their signature martini and some sake (not sure which one, forgot). As for the food we got the yellowtail jalapeño (winner), ahi uni (winner), salmon sashimi (winner), rack of lamb (winner), and pork belly (it was real soft, but was just ok). Overall food was great. As with every plate that came out, each one was explained to how it was made and what type of ingredient was used. Which as most fine dining restaurant will do the same. No complaints here. However our service was lack luster. We ordered a few drinks but our waiter did not come by often to ask us if we need more drinks. We also had to ask for more water (not our waiter, but some other wait staff) a few times. I also asked for a steak knife, cause it was hard to cut the rack of lamb with a butter knife. So when our waiter did stop by I asked him if he had a steak knife. His answer was "I'm not sure we have any right now, but I will check". Ok which is fine, but he did not ever once come back and tell me that they have no knife what so ever. Kept walking by our table and serving other tables near by us and not once mention anything to us. So we ended up just using a dull knife. Overall for a first timer here, it wasn't a great experience. Especially if you're spending that type of money on food and service. Food was great, service not so much.

Joaquin Diaz

A trendy restaurant with great tasting food and service to match. The staff is friendly and quick to assist. The decor is modern and the location at Ward is perfect. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is indoors with the bar and additional seating outdoors.

Eli Rosenfeld

Nice cocktails ($15) and dope apps, but Nobu prices...

YUI Xuanran

it's soooo great, and I really recommend their matcha dessert.

Jeff Linkon

Worth every penny. Just amazing every time!!!

Inessa S

My favorite restaurant and a leche martini to die for.

We were very disappointed that Nobu moved from its Waikiki location but still had to make a visit during our holiday and so glad we did. The new location is really gorgeous. Dramatic and beautiful. We ordered the omakase and were not disappointed. Every dish was delicious and tasty. The white peach sangria is not on the menu anymore but they will still make it for you. It is still my favorite drink. So yummy. The meal was delicious and I was in love with Nobu all over again. We make it a point to visit here as a treat every trip to Hawaii.

Jeff Lawi

A special Japanese restaurant with modern influences. POTUS is known to dine here when he visits during the holidays.

Tony Ng

Far too expensive. It's ok food, but no better than many upscale Japanese restaurants. Waiters constantly try to upsell you - "do you want to add sea urchin on your scallop?" Without telling you it costs more than the entire original dish

Cameron Luck

My wife and I got the Omakase here. It was amazing. Best dinner in Hawaii.

Mark Tordoff

Awesome service and Awesome food, but very pricey but was expected
