We offer you the reviews of real people like you who are using the services of Lucky Belly (Restaurant) in Hawaii area.
As of day the firm gets a score of 4.5 over 5 and that rating is based on 534 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is practically the best one, and it is based on a large number of feddbacks, so we may think that the rating is very reliable. If many people have bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to put opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Ramen restaurant.
We were visiting and were there for the Christmas buffet. A bit disappointed when we heard that they were serving buffet . . . until we saw it. Wow - better food than most restaurants - fantastic service and perfect ambiance.
From the moment i walked into this place, I knew it was perfect place for lunch. It's love to come back for dinner but maybe next trip. Shirley is the absolute best. The service was amazing. The food is outstanding. I'll make a point of coming back.
Great fusion ramen place. Good pork dishes.
Amazing food! We came in late at night directly from the airport after we flew in from Kauai and were looking for a place to eat before we head to the hotel. This place was an excellent choice. The place is very nicely decorated and the service is quick and helpful. The food is just spectacular
Good food and excellent services
Hands down a great restaurant. I enjoyed everything from the friendly atmosphere and service to the excellent food. Proces are cheap for what you get and the interior is nice. If you are around China Town I would recommend you to go there.
Good food. Quick service.
Amazing food. Great environment and friendly people. You must try the Pork Belly Bao. Reasonably priced and great place.
Awesome food! Great place to hang out for the ramen on a rainy night! Service was great too!
Great authentic restaurant in Honolulu's Chinatown section. Great place if your travels take you there!
Small menu, a bit pricey but my bowl was tasty.
Outstanding dishes!
Amazing noodles bowls. Great flavors. The place has great serving staff. Nice ambience. We tried different food in the menu and all were great.
Everything is delicious here. But the Oxtail Dumplings? Whoa. Incredible. Cocktails are great as well with a good beer/wine selection. Did I mention the dumplings? Salads are excellent. Can't go wrong with the Lucky Belly Bowl. And, seriously, have the dumplings.
Great spot! Friendly staff. Glad I stopped in.
Excellent food in Chinatown and they have the "Window" which is open after hours which is perfect for a quick cheap tasty late night snack. Its located on the side of the building.
I never knew Ramen could be so delicious!!
Perfect pupu and drinks. Ramen also awesome.
We go here for the beef brisket Bahn Mi Sandwich...delicious and tender!
Great service with great food! I will be coming back again!
What a nice surprise! First time in Honolulu, heard people talk about it so we gave it a try. It was a wonderful lunch. The service is friendly and prompt, the salmon was delicious. The belly bowl was a great choice also. I recommend this restaurant.
Ramen bowls are huge and they offer flights of sake
It was delicious... Great service...
I love this place! Small and hipster. It is the only place I've come back to more than once since I've been here
Wish I had taken a photo of our Beast Bowl ramen and Ox Dumplings. Both were delicious and big enough to split an app and a meal. Atmosphere was great. Bartender was really helpful with identifying other top places to try.
Lucky belly was such a wonderful find. I was visiting my uncle and his family and they took us there for lunch. Shark bites wonderful we also had potstickers for appetizers. Three of us decided to have the pork bowls. A delicious mix of sausage and pork belly and noodles. It was too much to eat we had it that night for dinner too. Parking is very difficult at this location. Seating is limited. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone was very helpful service was great.
I don’t believe I’ve ever met a more friendly and welcoming staff! The food was delicious and came out quickly and they were quite attentive to every customer. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!
Excellent, friendly and smart service
Still my favorite ramen place on O'ahu
Yum. Yum. Wow. All I can say is that I'm glad there was space at the bar when we walked in. Super friendly service at the bar. Great menu options! Wish we could have had a few more days to come back and try everything out. The applewood smoked bacon was on a whole other level of tasty! Definitely worth a try out!
I was eating lunch at the Chinese Restaurant next door, which doesn’t serve alcohol so I stopped by Lucky Belly on my way back to my hotel for a beer. So impressed, I came back the next day and began to work my way through their appetizer menu. Had to come back two days later to finish the job. Best meal I had in Honolulu. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Food was outstanding.
Food is delicious. The staff were friendly and service was very good. We got there around 11am and there were no line. By the time we were done it was getting crowded. I will try the ramen next time.
These are some fine buns!! It's been almost half a decade since I've been here and the food is just as amazing as I remembered! We sat at the bar and ordered a lucky bowl and trio of appetizers. I'm not sure if he was the owner/co-owner or just a really good bartender, but he made all these great recommendations and was engaging in conversation with all the guests. Since I'm allergic to shrimp, he let me choose another appetizer in place of the lobster shumai. The dumplings are still just as delicious as ever!!! And the baos have crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside pork belly. The ambiance is perfect for date night. I need to come here more often ... but I will definitely be back!
i loved the atmosphere and the food it's a shame chinatown is so rundown and dangerous and i think the pig and lady and the lucky belly and opal thai should all move to a safer part of honolulu like maybe in ala moana or something
YES!!! LUCKY BELLY...All I can say is GREAT, YUMMY Pork Belly Boas! The BEST! The pork belly in the boas are so mouthwatering, juicy, and slathered with yummy hoisin sauce. Also had the Ox Tail Dumplings. The dumplings are HUGE and are filled with lots of shredded tender ox tail meat that just melts in your mouth. So Delicious!
Lamb Lumpia
Incredible ramen, incredible service, incredible music! I got the fungi ramen and a dealer's choice flight of sake. The server was super helpful and attentive. I was also really impressed with the ramen-- sometimes vegetarian options can be really bland, but this was rich and great proportions of everything in it. I loved every sake they brought me, and I was bopping in my seat to the playlist (~60s, though I was told they sometimes transition to trap around 10pm). Glad I checked this place out during my stay.
First off, service was great. It was a little loud so I couldn't get the waitress' name but she was wonderful. Knew all about the menu and her recommendations were spot on. The belly bao appetizer was great. Got the beast bowl ramen. Broth, noodles, sea weed, and egg were good, the oxtail wontons, both of them, just two, were ok. Not much flavor to them. The brisket was a no show and 3 pieces of short ribs. The ribs were a bit over cooked or reheated a couple too many times. The two cold teas were really good and bottomless. They are also open a little later so if you are out and want some better then fast food fair try the bao and some drinks. Can't say I'd go out of my way again to eat there, I am kinda sad cuz I really wanted it to be good, but if someone wanted to go I'd give it another try.
Good customer service and food is so delicious and will for sure come back to this place again...
Great food and exceptional service. They really went above and beyond. Very hospitable and friendly. Will definitely go again. Lucky bowl was flavorful, consistent and ample. Great job.
It's all about the broths. Ramen noodles are average.
A gem of a modern pan Asian eatery in Honolulu Chinatown. Great ramen options and many tasty no noodle dishes. scallop cone sushi is a must have appetizer. Great sake selection.
Small establishment but the food is great, good service.
Some of the best food in town. If you love ramen this is your place. If you love delicious appetizers this is also your place. I rarely manage to get past the apps because they are that good. That being said, the entrees I have had are always good. I highly recommend the Curry Pork Cheeks.
Go for the Ramen. And oxtail potsticker. But mainly the Ramen!
Great Ramen / Saimin bowls and Great Bim Bin Bap bowl. Also had good selection of Japanese Sake and Japanese beers and other beers, draft beers and other types of drinks with the Ramen.
Jason was very professional, excellent service. The Pork Belly Bao was delicious. Atmosphere was relaxing even on the busiest day.
Best ramen noodles ever! The lobster app is a must!
Really, really good. Great atmosphere and service. Food is top notch, great Sake selection.
I love the food, but on my last visit the waiter took a long time to greet us and took the table next to us order before he took ours (who came in 5 min after). Then when the food came there was a green worm in the salad. We told the waiter and he asked if we wanted another salad (like we wanted to keep eating it). I had to waive them down for the check, they comped the meal that had the worm, but as soon as we paid the took our food and dumped it. They never asked if we wanted to take the leftovers. I've never been treated like that ever!
This is a great place to grab lunch. Friendly staff, excellent appetizers and Ramen. If you're hungry, get the belly bowl with an extra egg, or go whole hog and request double meat. That last one is definitely not for the weak stomached....if you're drinking, the specialty cocktails are good..
Always a good meal to be had here, but they no longer had my favorite "chinatown swizzle".... sad times.
If you are looking for an upscale ramen restaurant in Honolulu, this is the place. Great innovations to ramen like the beast bowl, a hint of classic ramen with a New York Momofuku approach. Maybe not the complete analogy as Momofuku Ando created Cup O’noodles and this restaurant is far from that. Great sides from gyoza to pork belly bao and outstanding bar. If downtown, not to be missed
Great service, and food came out super fast. We got the ramen, a lucky bowl and the shrimp kim chee bowl. They were both great, and the house made kimchee was excellent.
One of the best spots I visited on my trip to Honolulu. I found it by accident and I am so happy I found it. Highly recommend this spot if your in China town. Easily one of the BEST in the area. Great value!!!!!
Little pricey but one of the best ramen I've had on island.
New foods with fusion asian taste! Might be a little bit salty, but we ate them all ;) The place was clean and the servers were very kind!
Very big and tasty ramen.
Wicked food and wicked service! Quick and attentive staff! Love the playlist too!
Nice staff and food. Service was very slow for such a small place, but the food was worth the wait.
On the pricey side, but good portion sizes and high quality ingredients. Ramen for both meat lovers and vegetarians
Small venue, but very modern and comfortable. I'd highly recommend reservations at this establishment. We sat at the bar and service was very prompt and polite. There was a bit of a wait for food, but it was worth it. Teriyaki Chicken Salad was delicious, but could have used more chicken. The porkbelly was delicious!
Great but a little too salty for my taste.
I've lived in Japan, this was REALLY good ramen! The pork was insane & the best sake I've ever had! Definitely check this place out if you like Japanese food!
Small establishment, pretty good food, good service. Good for a one time visit, not necessarily something I'd recommend, but we liked it.
We stopped in for dinner when passing through the city. The food was good. The service was fantastic. I'd definitely go there again.
Large portions of delicious beef based food.
Not worth the money. Night stand bento was not worth it
What a great bowl of noodles Quick and kind service
Had the pork shank over rice portage. Huge serving! Great taste. Ordered a old fashion with Buffalo Trace bourbon after...off the wall great! Hats off to the bartender, Dean, who made it. Went back a few days later just for the old fashion. Friend of mine ordered the pork belly ramen. He highly recommends it.
Wonderful healthy dining. So tastey! Courteous staff. Such a great experience
A little pricey, great service.
Love the tempura shrimp taco
Awesome service
Unfortunately this place falls under my "overhyped" category. Nothing stood out as good and one dish was just horrible. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1 PM. There were a handful of parties so we didn't have to wait to get seated. A waitress came by and blurted out the special of the day, but she spoke so fast and in such a low voice that I didn't even bother paying attention. We ordered pork belly bao appetizers, scallop cone-sushi, and belly bowl ramen. The pork belly bao dish consisted of three baos. The amount of pork in each bao was on the small side and there wasn't much flavor. The ramen was just okay. The most disappointing dish had to be the scallop cone-sushi. First of all, the name is misleading as it's not a cone or hand roll which is what I was thinking. The dish is actually risotto with scallops stuffed in a tofu pouch. There are three of these pouches to be precise. Each one filled with hard scallops and undercooked risotto. It was so awful that I simply ate the tofu pouch and left the risotto and scallops on the plate. The atmosphere is nice and chill with a cool bar and some tables along the back wall and windows. Not a bad place to sit and take a break from the heat outside...just wished the food was better.
Solid late night option in chinatown with a great wine list
This cute restaurant serves delicious meals to all your senses. The smell, sight and taste of the food was amazing! We came into Lucky Belly for lunch and we were seated immediately. Our drink order was taken and drinks were brought to our table in minutes. We ordered the pork belly bao as an appetizer, the Belly bowl and the Shrimp tempura tacos as main dishes-- we were not disappointed! The food was delicious!
The bowls are delicious and unique. Never had anything like it before...like gourmet ramen. Also priced reasonably. The space is small but warm and inviting and a nice though pricey bar to boot. Definitely worth a visit.
great appetizers. ramen is sort of overpriced and flavor was sort of mediocre. get the rice dishes instead. they looked amazing
Flavorful food, awesome drinks, friendliest staff ever.
Friendly, good service, try. Lucky bowl very delicious.
Just the red bricks & wood devour ,,just for staters, was my fist impressions... Nice, menue of selections, cozy setting, natural lighting day time one side..
Superb ambiance, helpful staff, food and Saki. My wife and I enjoyed the Pork Bao, Lamb Lumpia, Spicy Chicken Salad and the Beast Bowl ... with a flight of Saki. Everything was superb ... and the waitress was very friendly and helpful.
Some of the best Ramen i had in Oahu
The service was very attentive and friendly.
Came on a Saturday evening with reservations for a party of 9. A/c wasn’t working or something cause it was HOT in there. Food was ok. Ramen over prices at $20+. Felt rushed because they had a reservation after us.
We liked the appetizers. Huge portions for their plates and ramen. We only thought the ramen was a little too salty
Absolutely amazing!!!
Great food and happy staff
I was eating lunch at the Chinese Restaurant next door, which doesn’t serve alcohol so I stopped by Lucky Belly on my way back to my hotel for a beer. So impressed, I came back the next day and began to work my way through their appetizer menu. Had to come back two days later to finish the job. Best meal I had in Honolulu. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. Food was outstanding.
The staff is very attentive and friendly. I was greeted immediately and since I was waiting for a friend, they offered me water or a drink. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. I had the tempura shrimp tacos, and my friend ordered the special, a bento box. The salad had some interesting greens in it, and the dressing was perfect. No romaine or iceberg in the gourmet mix or the tacos.
Food was great and drinks were very creative, tasty and had a great punch.
Great food! Great location.
Didn’t get the ramen as I was told it was not authentic enough. Drinks and food was delicious and service was impeccable. Got seated right away even on a busy night for a table of 2.
Unreal. Unprecedented. A spiritual experience of flavor.
If you're willing to adventure through Chinatown this restaurant is a diamond in the ruff!!! The Pho bowls are huge and the Oxtail Dumplings are probably tied with my other favorite the Pork Belly Baos!!!
Delicious and tasteful food. Went late night and service was excellent. Loved the beast bowl. All the appetizers we ordered were delectable.
Tried the 'Lucky Bowl' and non-sweetened tea. The bowl was delicious + it's huge :) The tea wasn't rich in taste, but you have multiple refills. The staff is friendly & helpful!
Soooo Happy!

Wait staff was amazing. We had great service all over Honolulu, but everyone here was a cut above. The food was incredible.
Great dumplings, ramen :(
Great ramen. Favorite is the Belly Bowl. Daily specials are also good.
Overpriced for the quality of food. Ramen was over salted. Crab and avocado salad was lacking an acid component and freshness. The shishito peppers were the best which was a starter.. presentation and service was nice, clean, and warm.
Delicious family style served Asian cuisine. One of the bright spots of downtown dining.
Top notch service from the bar and wait staff. Very personal, friendly and helpful. The signature drinks are delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. I had the oxtail dumplings for an appetizer and they were awesome! Followed up by the beast Ramen, which was a super large portion and the best by far on the island. Go here. For sure a must visit!
Food was delish. Love the old brick except for the cockroach up on wall behind me.
Five star rating for the deliciously prepared meals at this restaurant. Items to get include shrimp gyoza, oxtail dumplings, and lobster siu mai. Lucky ramen was also very tasty even though it was a very simple bowl. The portion was quite large enough for two persons, three if you're a small eater. For appetizers the best item is the oxtail dumpling. Very tender meat, fresh seafood. Two thumbs up!!
I love the big bowl filled with ramen and their pork belly. Very memorable. There are a dozen seat at the bar counter and another two, three dozen seats of 4's and 6's. I also missed the Ming's Garden. The (real) Hong Kong style noodle shop that occupied the space "historically" The won ton mein was my comfort food.
Service was really good, people were very nice. Food was good, we had the Lucky bowl, pork belly bao and the ox tail dumplings-my fav. Prices had gone up since the last time i was there.
Simply Delicious
Great food. The place gets packed fast, so you may have to wait a minute. The bartender was awesome knew everything about anything on the menu.
Food was pricey but delicious. The staff was awesome, but the giant roach crawling on the wall was a deal breaker.
A very trendy and delicious restaurant for Asian Fusion. Everything is delicious. Make reservations before 6:30 or be prepared for a wait. The place is kinda small but the service is outstanding.
Limited Menu, but each item has been PERFECTED. <3
Trendy and nice place to hangout with friends for some drink and good food. The pork belly were ver delicious. Curry dish were very tasty. I love ramen noodles, with pork belly ( of course) ox tail dumplings, .. was so good, the only that the broth temperature need to be hotter, I always like my soup is hot.
Fun place, great food!!
Fusion or a wicked attempt at fusion. I'm being picky here but friends highly recommended this place so I was super excited to try something new. We had a Cesar salad and fusion Korean plate. The salad was decent, the flavors on they other plate clashed in my opinion. Need to try it again. Ambiance was cool. Seemed like a good place to hang out for a few drinks.... But many places to choose from in the area so it might not be my first choice for that.
Food was delishious and we had wonderful staff. Just never get stuck as the person on the backless seats opposite the wall bench.
Modern themed restaurant. And modern style menu, but very limited selection. The ramen is ok. The scallop cone sushi (bone marrow risotto & truffle dashi) is probably the best dish I've tried. For a restaurant that is trying to be upscale, their service is not that good. The server sounded very frustrated as we asked questions about the menu items and did not come to check up on us during the meal. We also felt rushed to get out of the restaurant as they took away dishes (that still had food) without asking. I would have liked to come back and try a few more dishes but their service is a turn-off. I'll bring my hard earned money elsewhere.
Superb menu and drinks. Highly recommend
So ono! So simple and flavorful!
Very unique double broth. They serve a thicker noodle. Personally, I prefer a thin wheat noodle that holds a lot of broth. Between that, and the broth I almost just wanted to just keep slurping the broth. I did enjoy how much konbu they added, which was a nice savory complement to the broth.
Great food, super tasty, superb presentation, service very friendly and helpful to us non-locals.
Super friendly staff and amazing food! Menu is clean and not too cluttered. Raman is great and we had a special catfish that was top notch.
Go for the appetizers.
BELLY BOWL FTW!!! Extra noodles!
Very good, recommend the beast bowl.
Great experience with noal (probably spelled wrong). But I will definitely come back next time I visit. The Ramen was great as was the cocktail.
Wonderful ramen. The pork belly melted in my mouth. My sister got the shrimp Kim Chee ramen and it was excellent.
What a delicious Asian restaurant. The food was excellent and the service friendly. We loved the trio plate and all the food we got. It was well seasoned and very flavorful.
cocktails were great so were the pork bunns. little expensive but worth it.
Great service. Nice variety and taste to food. Reasonable portions. Good ambience.
This may now be my favourite restaurant. Had the appetizer sampler and bibimbap and was plenty enough for two people. Great portions, fantastic food and exceptional service. I was totally blown away by every aspect of our dinner here. I haven't stopped talking about how great it was! It's unusual for drinks, appies and dinner to be incredible but this place has it all and knocked it out of the park! Thanks for an amazing last dinner in Hawaii!
The bartender Dean was so cool. Food was over the top Definatly reccomend a trip there to Chinatown on Oahu
Remember when you applied for college and made sure to pick one ‘safety school.’ For me, in this neighborhood, Belly is my safety restaurant. More predictable hours than Opal Thai, more likely to get a table than at Pig and the Lady, and a bit more refined than a few other choices within a stones throw. Some things to like: comfortable ambience, solid portions and friendly staff. Their appetizers are also a bright spot. Recommend sharing those and splitting an entree.
My bowl tasted like ramen but i ate the bowl and they kicked me out, now im living on the streets of honolulu and i lost my wife, shes just missing and i dont know where my house is im actually lost ooh a volcano
Always great! The Beast Bowl Kim Chi style is the best. Joey at the bar always has great beer suggestions. Lucky Belly is the first dinner meal I have everything I come to Oahu on business.
WHo doesn't love ramen..... this place has the deep flavorful broth, yummy apps and great atmosphere. Younger cooler crowd, very hip , I love it here. Came twice in a week lol The pork in the ramen was so melt i your mouth. The pot stickers were also great! I wanted to sip all the broth , I couldnt get enough
I’m dead serious not even 30 minutes into the dinner I find two live roaches running around on the floor and I’m of course disturbed but I ignore it (because the waiter killed them) however I feel paranoid and of course I find another roach in the crevice of the wall behind me. The waiter then moved me to the bar and five minutes later I spot a roach crawling on the bar tenders back. I am terrified of roaches and I wanted to cry. Overall I took my food to go and I’m never going there again.
Great ramen and atmosphere! Haven't tried the whole menu, but I'm sure it's all good. Good luck finding parking though...
We’ve been to Lucky Belly at least 30 times since we moved from NYC seven years ago and and every time we are marveled by their awesome Aloha Spirit, Williamsburg Brooklyn ambiance and the BEST Ramen in Hawaii. We’ve had all of their Raman’s and the following is by far the best around. We’ve talked about it when we travel back to NYC as well as on our numerous trips to France. SHRIMP KIM CHEE BOWL togarashi shrimp & kim chee.
Came here for dinner as a group on vacation. We tried everything that was recommended by other reviewers. The dumplings are amazing! Also everything else I tried and ate here was above par. Drinks are pretty good as well. If anything the pricing is a bit high hence the one less star but everything else about the place is great. Service decor and ambiance are all good as well.
I had the Tempura Tacos and they were very nice. Light and tasty. My nephew had one of the ramens and lamb lumpia and he’s quite happy with them. His wife had the karaage sandwich - the karaage was cold, neverthelessn she liked it. Service was superb and they’ve accommodated the toddler and the baby who were with us. Although I should add, they don’t have highchairs.
Some very nice cocktails and very good Asian fusion plus good Asianfood bowls. Excellent portions.
Big portion and tasty food. Friendly and attentive staff. Wife didn't know what was in her drink so asked and the staff were more than happy to replace it or find something else that suited her which was excellent customer service. There was free parking in the late afternoon/evening, I think from 4.30pm onwards or something. The reason I give it 4 stars is because we felt it was a little overpriced for what you get.
cool decor; great ramen
Noodle is OK, but too salty and expensive.
Great atmosphere, great service. Attention to the details.
Great! Staff. Food. Excellent
They knocked it out of the park. I don't have a pic, but I even came back the next day to get the pork belly bao... So very good. Service was great, attentive and very friendly. Vanessa, Becky and Jason helped me. All great. Jason is a wealth of knowledge regarding sake. I will return many times to come.
There were not many options, but the food was okay. If you are into Ramen, this is the place for you. The reason I gave 3 stars because a roach crawled all over the seats and onto my friend. Probably not going to go back.
Very unique cuisine.
I don't even know where to begin. The staff is easily the friendliest restaurant staff ever. Super attentative as well. We were completely blown away by the food! Don't let the prices fool you; the servings are extreme. We were three people who shared two appetizers and then had a bowl each, and none of us was able to finish. One of my absolute favorite eating experiences ever!
Great food and sake!
Great food in downtown
2 words: Brisket Bibimbap. Enough said.
