REVIEWS OF Himalayan Kitchen IN Hawaii

Vasco Elbrecht

Not the greatest ambiente, but really good food. Very nice curry like dishes, and delicious starters as well. I liked it.

Blueberries441

Super good food! the portions are big and they don’t joke around when you say you want your food spicy

Rakesh Bam

Very disappointed with the food. I would rate the lamb biryani 1/10 even for half the price. Live and learn. The inside of the restaurant is nice.

Todd Okamoto

Solid. Naan other like it.

Jam Ril

Tasty Indian food and capable of making food spicy enough. The chicken tasted fresh not frozen, and thoroughly cooked

hollA Daze

Love this place! & much much better then their other location in South Jordan. My curry is always spot on & delicious. My only complaint is that they are definitely a bit overpriced.

Lucas Fowler

My favorite place for this type of food in the valley. And if you ask just right, they'll make it plenty spicy for you!

german duran

very good service

Cameron Garber, DPT

The food was excellent! We had great dishes. The service was poor though. Simply unattentive and seemed disinterested. I even told our waiter at the start of the meal that the desserts looked good and that I would like some later. At the end he just brought the check and walked off and never asked me about dessert. I never had a chance to ask him prior to that because I never saw him after he brought our appetizer...after the main course was already served. Honestly, if it weren't for excellent atmosphere and food I would have given it a worse rating. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a bad day.

Robert Ennis

It was pretty good. I was expecting a different flavor profile on my chicken tikka masala.

Saroj Bhatta

Best Nepalese/Indian restaurant I have ever been to in the US. Original taste, and the staffs are really nice, friendly and helpful.

Ras Co

Good food. Friendly staff.

Jack Pease

Absolutely wonderful food and extremely nice people. Can't say enough good about this place.

Riah Loveless

This is a great place to try some Indian food. The buffet has a lot of variety and everything tastes great.

Garret V

Great food, nice little ambience just slightly expensive for portion sizing. But then again I'm a giant and have a metabolism like a teenager.

Raj Shah

Good food n friendly service with freshly made daal & Roti

Katherine Redd

We came here for dinner, and the food and service were nice. I would give 4.5 stars if that were allowed, but I just didn't think the value for the price quite reached up to the five star level. Definitely worth exploring though and I'd love to try the lunch buffet!

HerrDoktor Gene

Delicious food and excellent service.

Phillip Packard

Really enjoyed the ambiance, food, and service. Definitely going back.

Bryan Switalski

One of my favorite places to eat on the island

sonya baker

Good vegan options - they have quite a lot of choices for vegan & vegetarian. Their roti bread is good with saucy curries. Spiced okra is delicious of they have it. Service is okay, staff is friendly.

Alex Marshall

I go here often for their lunch buffet. It's always fresh and they mix up what's available. The service has always been prompt (less than 1 minute for a party of 4). This is a great option for those who want good food, but need to fit in the whole outing and be back to work with an hour.

Scott

First time trying there, definitely going back! Food and service were excellent! Want to try the other dishes!

mridul upadhyay

Tasty authentic indian and nepalese food. Will be our go-to place when craving for indian food. Thukpa and paneer pakoda were excecptionally well.

Clifford Holle

Had the lunch buffet. Good food! Friendly service too.

Ken Rubin

good food, nice atmosphere, not too pricey.

Donna Lynch

Exceptional food. Nicest owner. Caleen was a great bar tender

Tannon Dowd

Excellent spot. Found by accident and have been back several times. Great selection of incredible dishes. Very clean and good service. They know how to do spicy, right!

Daz Onyx

FOOD POISONING! I HAD TO ASK TO GET ANY ITEM REMOVED AFTER I SPENT AN HOUR TRYING TO BREATH FROM THROWING UP

Stephanie Legg

WARNING TO PEOPLE WITH FOOD ALLERGIES DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL NOT TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY.... We asked straight away "which things on your menu are not spicy, we need something with absolutely no spice due to a medical condition" and the waitress told us that everything could be made not spicy. Due to a health issue I cannot eat spicy food. It can exasperate a breathing and muscle problem and put me in the hospital....We ordered a lamb dish and instead of saying that the dish may be mildly spicy, she said okay. The dish we received was very spicy, even for the people I was with. We let her know and she said "oh, I will bring another one sorry". She did, it was still very spicy. She then proceeded to say, "well it's spicy from the seasoning we use, it is not a chili spice" and then walk away..... I could not eat this food... I had naan bread for dinner. We we're still charged for the food that was not consumed, so we took it with us and a friend ate it the next day... The fact this waitress put my health at risk because she thought she could determine what was safe for me is crazy! I did not say I had a chili allergy! I said I had a problem with spicy food.... I would not recommend this place to anyone with any sort of health problem that can be aggrivated by food.

TR RX

Not a Typical indian food. We ordered Veg Biriyani, Naan and Paneer tikka masala. Biriyani is just the colored rice tossed with veggies, No aroma at all. Naan was just the sour all purpose flour , Chewy , No butter. Tikka masala is also just some colored gravy with no Aroma. Paneer in the gravy was horrible. you can cheat non-indians saying that this is indian food. I

Irina Ochsenbein

Good food nice people good service. Happy New Year.

Pankaj Vohra

Great ambience and awesome Indian food in Hawaii.

Laughing Tanuki

I have eaten here 3 times this month. The currys are great, I think I like the Madras best. Don't forget ro try the fruit stuffed nan. No liquor license, but you can bring your own.

marty rivers

Tasty food and done by hand!!! Nice

anchal gupta

Very nice Indian/Nepali food which doesn’t feel heavy at all. Highly recommend this reataurant.

Jesse Jones

Excellent food and atmosphere with it's tucked in location

Aditi Aryal

Best place in town to eat Indian

Gopi Vietnam

Just had dinner. We were a group of four. The place was bit busy. We were expecting a lot going by the reviews here. But definitely bit disappointed with the food. Service was good & they definitely took very good care, checking out quite a few times but as written above, the food was really mediocre in terms of quality. The green chutney served with papadams was the worst I ever had in any Indian restaurant in any part of the globe. So watery and no taste at all. The dal & baingan were just ok. Nothing special to crave about on the breads. At least the waiters appeared sincere in their approach, I am writing to let them know that there is big scope for improvement in the quality. Price was reasonable.

Ryan

Awesome food and service. Better experience here than any other restaurants in the area. In walking distance to a full day parking lot. The lamb Curry was absolutely amazing, must try. Don't believe they have soda, only alcoholic beverages, but I could be wrong, was not asked what I wanted to drink. But the food is just awesome.

Mariliz Reilly

Very interesting atmosphere strange how you have to walk up some crooked stairs to a top Lanai but the food was great and bring your own drinks! Try a little bit of everything nice wait staff to but don't go if it's pouring rain everything is pretty much outside.

Devon Cataldi

Really great service, taste and price

Parrish Canyon

Marvel movie night. Dr strange went for Nepalese food. Did not disappoint portions were great

Mikey Archibeque

Wow, this place is incredible! It is one of my favorite Indian restaurants even when compared to places on the mainland. Great service, friendly staff, great place for groups or dates.

Michelle Moore

2.5 star experience. Food was good, I enjoyed the Veggie Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan. My mom felt their mild Dahl and Spinach Aloo were both too spicy, and that her plain lassi was too sweet. The outdoor patio was nice. The service however was some of the worst we have ever had. We had to ask to have our order taken after 10 minutes, which I guess should have been our first clue. Also had to ask for our drinks to be delivered after 30 minutes. Was surprised that the CTM didn't come with rice, so I had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes for the rice to be delivered, having to ask for it twice, so that I could start to eat my meal. Lastly we had to ask twice for the bill to be brought. When the bill was received it included a charge for a food item we hadn't ordered, although the staff was pleasant in their offer to remove the incorrect charge. Overall: food very tasty Service: abysmal. Recommend you maybe order take out instead of dining at the restaurant unless you don't mind a 2 hour or longer dining experience

Kishan P B

Buffet was exceptional and beyond affordable

Katherine Wright

Great food. Best Indian food I've had in a long time.

Katherine Ricks

The food is consistently high quality and delicious, the service is warm and friendly, and the lunch buffet is awesome!!! I have never had a better Vegetable Coconut Curry or Butter Chicken. This is my go to place to bring friends and family when they come to visit.

Sudarshan Rammurthy

Good food ... Courteous staff ...

Charles Trask

Great food, interesting atmosphere.. Loved it.

Alyona

I've never liked curry before. Ever. This place changed my views. I craved it my last trip to hawaii. Came here again twice in one week. Good service, Nice atmosphere, amazing food. They played live music when we went on Saturday night. I'll come back here every time.

Harsha Nori

One of the places, where you can get a decent Chicken Biryani in town.

Triple A Jones

Awesome food, atmosphere, and employees. I've been twice and it gets better every time.

jay shah

Very good place! Good Indian taste

Jacob Stanovich

Wonderful food and attentive staff. Their spicy dishes are not for the sensitive of tongue, as even the mild curry was enough to make me reach for a lot of water. But the taste was more than worth it. Definitely on my to-go-again list.

Chris K

The best Indian food on Oahu. They were down two staff this day so service was very slow but they made up for it with four spice gelato at the end. I would definitely come back.

Zac Cook

This place is great. We came with a party of 8 for the lunch buffet and despite the restaurant being pretty full they found a place to seat all of us immediately and kept the buffet well stocked. The food was great. Some of it was a bit on the spicy side, which I prefer, but others may not as much. Everyone at our table really enjoyed the food. I never thought I'd write this, but the cabbage dish was actually one of my favorites. Definitely recommended if you're up for a good lunch buffet.

James McNeil

I go here at least 3 times a week and I never get sick of the food! The best madras and curries I have ever had and the ambience is so pleasurable. I highly recommend this place.

Keith Higaki

Flavorful foods and cosy atmosphere!

Zane Nelson

Very good food I love their curries!!

Jason Clark

So good! The staff was attentive making sure we always had water and everything. My meal was perfectly done and very spicy which I love! If you love Indian food stop by!

Alex Villalobos

Had a friend from Nepal bring me here she said it was the best Nepali food in utah very authentic everything she ordered was amazing! Service was a little slow but a great experience overall!

Josh Anderson

Just got back from northern India, this was like going straight back over there. Chicken Tikka masala was delicious with the most tender chicken you'll ever have in your life.

Sandy S

I cannot comment on the food because I never had the opportunity to place an order. However, the customer service is unsatisfactory. We requested a table for 6 and the employee made no attempt to seat us and just brushed us off. We requested the wait time and the employee told us about 40 minutes without any attempt to check for seating. The employee did not even take our names for the wait time. This is highly unprofessional.

Caleb Weeks

Great food and very kind staff. Highly recommend the daal fried. One of the best curries I've ever had. The onion bhaji was like the best I've ever gotten in a restaurant. Portions were fairly large, definitely worth the price

Billy Loa

Awesome place to work

ashok abraham

The food is okay.0

Geoffrey Bomarito

Went for the lunch buffet and was not disappointed. Plenty of options even as a vegetarian. Everything was so tasty it was hard to stop myself. Definitely don't forget to get some of the mango pudding for dessert!

Isabella Bartok

I went for the lunch Buffett. The food just isn’t good. Maybe their other food is good if you order from the menu but the buffet is gross. I’d suggest going to taste of India in Bountiful. The Buffett is 10$ there and delicious. The chicken here was dried out. The sagg paneer has very little paneer and it tastes like it’s just straight from a can or bag. There’s not much flavor. The naan is burnt and tastes likes they heated up tortillas from a bag. There’s no garlic naan. Just overall dissatisfied and it was 13$.

James Minnich

Our go to Indian food restaurant. Tasty food and friendly staff.

Chris Baxter

Very impressed, stopped in to try their buffet. It was very tasty, with an opportunity to sample many different dishes. The store was very clean and the wait staff was impeccable. They made sure to keep our glasses full and to make recommendations about things to try in the future. I really enjoyed the food and will be back in the future!

Hanna Dougherty

Delicious, delicious food. Charming atmosphere, too. It's on the roof (really reminded me of the time I spent in Ladakh!) with lots of warm lights :) this is my favorite restaurant in Honolulu.

Archit Rathore

Really great food. The lamb shish kebab deserves a special mention. The service was utterly disappointing though. The server spilled water at our table, clanged the spoons into the plate while collecting them and had a very haughty air. Giving it a 4 star solely based on the food.

Kira Jensen

It was amazing, as always! I have been going here since before they moved into this new location, and they were in the smaller place a little bit west. This is my favorite Indian restaurant in SLC. The food and the people are the best.

Aman Singh

Worst food and super slow service

Sarah Carr

Tasty food, warm service, and a nice casual ambiance.

Lamar flexjones

Great experience. Super good coconut curry

KALYANI k

Must must must visit place in Oahu... The food over here so delicious.. woow

Kira Booth

I usually love Himalayan Kitchen. They have so many vegan options. But this time the waiter was insisting that bison and chicken dumplings were vegan, which was a little frustrating but also made me lose faith that requests for vegan substitutions would be understood/honored. I ended up getting the "vegan salad" special because it seemed safer than trying to explain the dumplings. The salad was actually delicious even without the dressing (which wasn't brought out until the end of the meal). It was so good that I am giving 3 stars despite the unsatisfactory interaction with the waiter. Will still 100% recommend Himalayan Kitchen, but this particular visit was not up to par for them.

Prakash Bhusal

We were on our way to home from Zion National Park and wanted to try some Nepali food for lunch. When we went to the restaurant, lunch buffet did not look so appealing so we ordered food from menu. I asked Server if we could order samosa chat which was not in menu and he said he can do it. Also the server kept on emphasizing on medium spice level. We made it clear that we did not want any spices in our food. We ordered samosa chat, momo, meat platter and traditional goat curry. The food had spices which did not go well with our stomach. It seemed like they would make the (spicy) sauce before hand. Kabab and Chicken from meat platter were dry, cold and burned. Samosa chat had fried papad instead of bhujiya and no chat sauce like mint. I learned something from this restaurant is to stick with the menu. Goat curry was over my spice level and when I left salt lake for home, on the way I had to make 3 stops for extra large effect it gave on my stomach from his medium spice.

Joey Colvin

My order was given to another customer. The owner called the guy and he brought it back and it had been opened. The owner didn’t make me fresh ordered offer to make a fresh order, but gave me the order that was brought back. I’m pretty sure the health department would not approve of that. Even McDonalds tosses food when it’s brought back by a customer. Yes, I took it and gave it to the homeless. $40 wont make or break me but service like that will close a business.

Jon Miller

They have a great lunch buffet that is all you can eat. If you like Indian food, you have to try this place. I thoroughly did!

Kim Bae

Maybe the best thukpa I've ever had - aromatic and loaded with fresh veggies. I've never had anything quite like the homemade 'sesame seed' sauce that comes with the momos - kinda sweet but with a little kick. Yum!!

Som Chivukula

Tranquil music..food was terrific. I had a vegetarian appetizer and main course. Fresh. Courteous service. Definitely worth going to.

Scott Henderson

AMAZING FOOD.. go you won't be sorry, only sorry you didn't go sooner :)

Pradeep K V

Pathetic lunch buffet for the 13$ they charge. Items offered are almost always not available and have to wait 5 to 10 minutes while they take time to refill. Bery overpriced and lower than average indian food.

Abhijith Parvathappa

The food was not great on the day we had been for the buffet. Hope it's not the same every day

Aaron Maggied

Service was standard and food was ok. A decent stop for Indian and Nepalese dishes, but nothing outstanding about the dishes or staff.

Secret Agent

Delicious food :)

Arn Heggers

Flavor was great, but the portions left so much to be desired. We left hungry and feeling unsatisfied. We ordered two gravies with naan and rice for two. It was nowhere near enough even for a lunch. Maybe next time we need to try the buffet to ensure we get enough to eat.

Jacob Singer

Best restaurant in SLC. Not a lot of good food here, all tastes the same except Himalayan Kitchen. Service is exceptional as well, good old fashioned Indian servers and hosts who actually care about you and your needs instead of some clueless hipster. Super happy about this place, keep it up.

Krishna Shah

Good place to eat out at

Andrea Mazzario

The food is great and the people very friendly

Dianna Sivels

Great atmosphere and great food

Sheetal Krishna

Quite a shabby ambience.. You can easily notice that they are trying to save money wherever possible. The menu card looked like it was printed out in the 90s and is somehow being held together. Food was pretty average. Meat platter was undercooked and flavorless.. we left them a review to which they apologized and said that they'd pass on the message to the chef.

Kirsten Allen

Love the quiet, friendly neighborhood feel of the Himalayan Kitchen - and its fabulous lunch buffet!

Cesar Villela

I love going to this restaurant with a group of friends. We all get different dishes and eat off of each others plates. The food is so delicious that I am thinking about it as I write this review. I only write reviews if I have a very poor experience or if I really enjoyed the restaurant. This restaurant definitely needed another good review.

John Provenza

Food is good but the service is slow. The staff is very nice but slow. Once you order the food comes out quickly and they are pretty flexible.

Jane Taafaki

Delicious food and not too expensive as far as Indian food goes. Naan breads were delicious as was the tikka masala and lamb biryani. Servers were attentive too.

manoj khadka

Since we are in Honololu we crave for nepali taste and see choila and momo on the menu. With excitement we order choila but sad to say with knowingly that we are nepali they tried to sell choila that must be 5 days and the first bite i took was full of sour taste and i knew it was too old that if FDA investigate they will close the store on spot. Next veggie momo that we order happened to be out of our imagine. Our expectations might be high but selling these kinds of stuff not only damage the reputation but loose the proudness of nepali culture and taste. Our experience with Kamana restaurant in Maui exceeds the expectations but at the same time Himalayan Kitchen pissed us off ... You can fake the people who does not know the food taste but at the same time please think about customer loyalty and service. One bright thing is the waiter who served us well at his personal level. Kudos to him.

Rich Ferguson

Some of the most unique food in SL,UT. Recommended. With local guide, Siobhan O'Connor, for dinner. This menu may surprise those who are not familiar with Napalese dining. Suggest reviewing the website or (what the heck) just dive right in. You'll love it.

Jaime

Delish Tandoori chicken. Looking for something different or just some good Indian food while vacationing in Hawaii, this is highly recommend.

Megan Bartlett

The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service was pretty slow and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. I would have understood if it was super busy, but there were only 3 other tables occupied besides ours. But as I said before, the food was very delicious.

Noah Cockroft

I love Himalayan food, this place was as good as any I have ever been to.

Rohit Akhauri

Don’t go to this restaurant if you like Indian or Nepali food. They are not just bad they cheat with the food too. They had a drink called Spiked lassi, that is made of yogurt and vodka, we received only yogurt without vodka , upon asking they gave 2nd drink which had 5 drops of vodka. Food had no taste taste. Chicken tikka was so dry. Only breads were good. Service was so slow and they messed up every order.

Myke Cecc

Charging a different price than what is advertised is scandalous.

Brad H

Stopped in at just after 9pm after 10 hours on the road. The host sneered at us as he walked to a table and slammed a plate down. He came to us and just stood there looking at us. We thought he was a customer. Then he says "HOW MANY?" He seated us at a table with no word, and my girlfriend politely asked if we could please sit in a booth instead. He snarled and grabbed silverware from the previous table and threw it down and walked away. What the hell? The waitress got the order wrong and came back to tell us that's what she heard. Not really sure how to respond to that, but she heard wrong. After we got our food the host was pacing around and very obviously trying to show everyone that we all need to leave soon. There were several tables aside from ours but everytime I looked in his direction he was looking back at me and it was uncomfortable. I understand they close at 10 but our options to eat were pretty limited so we were super happy that they were open until 10. What a disappointment.

Johnny Sengmanichanh

Tandoori chicken at the buffet was awesome!

francis okawa

Why is the menu here all Korean food?

Chris Losacker

Was delicious!! Went for a friend's Birthday and really enjoyed ourselves.

shwetha parmar

Wasted half an hour driving to this restaurant only to find out it was closed! An update on google about the timing would be nice. Disappointed!

Cyd Kamakea

The food was sooo good! Lamb seakwa and butter chicken are amazing. Come early and order the okra. They always run out! No AC inside, so dont wear heavy clothes. Can't wait to go back!

surbhi goyal

Must go place.. especially for Indian tea lovers..They make fresh ginger tea and delicious food

Noel Gonzalez

The owner is an amazing guy who enjoys his job, and caters to everyone's needs. The staff is delightful and professional. If you don't visit here while at hawaii your missing out

Jeffrey Zheng

Himalayan Saag Dip. 100% must try. It's a cream cheese dip with a Himalayan twist and you dip with deep fried naan pieces. It's incredible. Just don't forget to save space for the rest of the meal! All of their curries are very good. Honestly I forgot which one I ordered but our waiter said that was one of his favorites. It was the medium spice level and just the right amount for me. The garlic naan is also a must try. It's big. It's garlicky. And it's naan. I'm not sure what else you can ask for. I'm definitely going to try their other naans next time. Service was amazing. Our waiter was friendly and offered excellent suggestions to us.

This Guy

Cury is always good.

sasha Us

Good Indian food in Hawaii

Fresa Brown

Food was ok but one of the curries was salty. However, the worst part of this experience was the service. The service was abysmal! We waited 20 minutes just to be acknowledged and then when we ordered our food we were pretty much forgotten about. The wait staff were running around like they did not know what they're doing and when we asked one lady for help she just completely ignored us and started doing something else. Not to mention the BIG roach that was crawling on the wall behind our table. We will never be going there again.

Andrew Miller

Service was really slow, but the food was good.

Travel With Me

Place is nice, food is damm worst. We can cook better food at home. This is not an Indian restaurant. Just named as Indian Restaurant.

Kartik Maniar

Ordered Vegetarian food from Door Dash app. The listing said Hara Kabab described as Vegetable Mixed with Mashed Potatoes and Spinach shallow fried. They send me pieces of Chicken. Called the restaurant they said you ordered from door dash there is nothing in the menu which is hara kabab and vegetarian. Owner hang up the phone. I also ordered aloo paratha and dal maharani. I didnt trusted now whether this is pure veg or not, I gave it a try Dal Maharani was okay, rice complimentary was half done uncooked. Also aloo paratha was half cooked. I am disappointed with both Doordash and This restaurant as visitor to this beautiful salt lake city in Utah. No good for vegans or vegetarian, specially owner didnt care as order was from door dash.

Devinder Kumar

Definitely visit this place if you are in SLC and want to try Indian /Nepalese food! Quite authentic food. The butter Naans are the softest I ever had.

Rill Brand

Delicious buffet..had lots of dishes to sample.

Dan R.

The food is really good and authentic. I haven't had better mo mos in the states! I would agree the service is slow but the food is worth it. Just don't show up starving and in a hurry and it will all work out!

UPDATE OCTOBER 2017: Website now does not work. Only working website for this place is for somewhere on the mainland with the same name. It's a shame. Overall going south ever since they bought that other restaurant on Keeamoku. ------ Cute outdoor space in Kaimuki. Extensive selection of types of naan. No Jain food, but overall not bad. Delivery service available. Website on business card is not correct, added website, which is actually pretty informative. Very sweet server at lunchtime. Kept water glass full at all times. Could see bringing groups here. Stairs are steep; careful bringing small children or folks with any kind of mobility issues.

Yasin Alsagoff

Always a good place to have dinner. One of the restaurants serving better Indian food on the island. Lamb Vindaloo, Madras curry, garlic naan...yummy! The place is a little run down so don't expect swanky upscale dining. Service can be kind of slow but all in all, HK remains a favorite spot of mine.

Tahnee Allman

Love this Indian spot. It’s BYOB so bring some wine. Great for groups, just call ahead.

Della Brown

Western the buffet lunch at 1:30. Most of the food was not warm. The chicken tandoor was dry. However the mint chutney was delicious as was the eggplant. Very little interaction with the staff. Willing to try it for dinner

Yashaira Fletcher

The food tastes amazing

Pranav Kant

Not the indian food i had hoped for. Other indian restaurants like Bombay House are far more authentic and delicious.

Kawika Heftel

Salmon coconut curry was absolutely delicious, as was the sweet naan and Himalayan tea. Many gluten free and vegan options. Highly recommend.

Jamie Piszczuk

Had lunch here and it was great!

Claudia Granata

Terrible slow service. By the time the food came to our table, we were already dissatisfied. Sad.

Vijayeta Sharma

Food is good but too much waiting time . I ordered biryani portion was good enough for 2 people. It a spacious restaurant with bar area separately. They have outside dinning area too. Staff is friendly only part I didnt like is waiting time otherwise place is good for Indian food lovers

Mina Mar

I LOVE this place. I moved down to California and I can't find anything quite like their coconut curry chicken. It's really good, I wish I was rich enough to have every meal here during my vacation.

Ben VanBeurden

5 stars! Food, service, ambiance, cheap parking, all wonderful. Even my 3 year old on hunger strike was crazy about the naan. The coconut chicken and lamb curry was my favorite. Will definitely be back and telling friends about this place.

shwe1985

Extremely overpriced lunch buffet (15.95$)with no appetizers or starters and no desserts included. Just 4 vegetarian main course dishes and 3 non veg with 1 lamb and 2 chicken dishes in it. Mixed cut salad was placed at 1 end which included generous amount of lettuce and minimal inclusion of tomatoes cucumbers and carrots. 1 rice dish which looked like pulao but no daal to go with it. The only saving grace was the tasty chicken curry which gives them the 1 star. Overall a very disappointing and unsatisfying experience especially since they refused to offer ala carte for lunch since they had the buffet going.

Tamara Alonzo

Had dinner here and really enjoyed it but a week later, was disappointed when we ordered food to take home and the curry did not come with rice. Was not aware you had to order that separately. Also lamb naan was over priced for what we got. Other than that, overall service was not bad and flavors were good.

Oscar Ramirez

Food was great, menu had all your indian staples with some other great options. Pricing was just right. Best part was it's atmosphere. Cozy yet open, warm yet breezy with earthy colors that completed the third world-ish/rustic dining experience.

Alika Makakilo

Rustic elegant ambiance. Seating at bar, terrace, balcony or inside. Kept it simple garlic na'an, butter chicken and Taj beer. Will return.

Tracy Adams

A personal favorite, you just can't go wrong eating here. Some dishes are mild but spicy for someone who is not spice tolerant, so be sure to ask for a side of yogurt to tone down the heat.

Sujata Sheth

Bad food...... havnt eaten such bad Indian food anywhere. The samosa chaat was cold and without any tamarind chutney. Samosa was stale. They served us with Perrier bottle of sparkling water which was already opened few days earlier. After complaining , the poor guy ( our server ) had to run to the next door 7*11 to buy a new bottle as all their bottles were open and half used. The place is rundown..has a stale gloomy feel about it. Would never go again and also advice please stay away. The service is good but food is really bad.

Tee Smith

Staff was great and loved the food. I really enjoyed the experience.

Shivam Shah

good food. the buffet has a ton of options! friendly staff too

Terra Shrewsburglar

Utterly fantastic. Great food, great owners, beautiful atmosphere.

Connor England

I like this place, definitely would recommend. They have the best Chicken Coconut Kurma I have ever tasted, this is a must. I was not the biggest fan of the Butter Chicken, too much tomato.

Alfonso

Their food is good. Vegans love this place. If you eat meat, they have lamb, beef and chicken. There's something fro everyone.

Karyl Lounsbery

Great atmosphere. Great food.

Carolyn Reed

This place is a treasure. It is tiny but in small packages come wonderful things and Cafe Provence is one of these. The food is always terrific and the staff attentive. It is a good place to linger over your meal and visit with a good friend or significant other. Treat yourself. Reservations are good because it really is small but cozy.

Eric Ayers

Enjoyed the experience. Good Indian/Nepali food. We shared the meat sampler appetizer and naan and had kulfi and sweet naan for dessert. Looking forward to returning to sample more menu choices. There is plenty of gastronomic exploration available here. Prices were comparable to other Indian/Napalese locales in town. As always, downtown parking is a challenge, but parking garages are numerous, and the library lot is also within easy walking distance.

Mitesh K Thakkar

Good food but expensive

Jacob Kerr

The best curries I have ever had, wonderful atmosphere, great staff, yummy food. It is the first place I want to bring anyone that is visiting.

There’s a lot to say about this place I’m really recommended great food

A Schwope

Every single dish was amazing!! So delicious!

TL:DR summary - 1. Wrong phone number listed Google 2. Restaurant was understaffed 3. Poor/slow service 3. Wrong food order I had so many problems with this place starting from when I called to make reservations. I used Google to search for the phone number, and when I called, I got sent to a voicemail (which did not identify Himalayan Kitchen). After a few hours of no return call to confirm my reservation, I looked the place up on Yelp. As it turns out, Yelp has a different phone number listed. This time I got an answer, so I made reservations for the following night. (Apparently the phone number on the Google search is wrong, or maybe they just don't answer it?) When we arrived at the restaurant (party of 4 on a Sunday night), the host told us he would go clear a table for us. After awkwardly waiting in a high foot traffic area between the host stand and the bathroom for almost 10 minutes, we went to ask the host if our table was ready. He said it was ready and pointed us to a table outside. He didn't seat us or give us menus. I had to go ask for menus for our table. The server (who was also the host?) took our order. Then we waited. For over an hour. He never came back to refill our drinks or offer an explanation or apology. Had I known it was going to take over an hour to get our food, I would have ordered an appetizer. I also would have been much more accepting of the situation if our server had stopped by to apologize or refill our drinks. My husband went to find a pitcher of water to refill our drinks. When the food finally did arrive, 3 people got their food and 1 person had to wait 10 more minutes. So the rest of us were awkwardly waiting to eat. And then he shorted us one order of naan. At the end of the night, I never saw one manager or owner, only two servers (who were also hosts) and kitchen staff. This was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had. The only reason I gave them two starts is because to food was really delicious.

Danielle Miner

Loved this place! Wonderful flavors, excellent korma and tikka masala. Highly recommend! Better than any Indian food we have in my city!

Jose Quinones

Fantastic Himalayan cuisine. The Saag dip and Tandoori shrimp is highly recomended.

Ramya S

Expensive place for mediocre taste.Food did not seem to be fresh.Puri had oil dripping all over. Service was slow. Wouldn't recommend going to this place for dinner

Shawn and Melinda Ambrose

Really good food. We had a variety of chicken dishes with rice served family style for our large group. Only some of us were asked what drinks we wanted. I think the staff was flustered by such a large group (15 people). The food was delicious and plentiful, though, and the dining area was comfortable.

Dennis

Diverse menu with lots of options. Prices are reasonable and the food was delicious. My only complaint was that the service tappered off after we received our entrees. Had to flag a server to get a water refill. Otherwise, would return for the tasty food and look forward to trying something else off the menu.

Mayukh Chatterjee

Good Indian food.

Aamod Pethe

Made the mistake of going to lunch buffet on a weekday(still a holiday week). The buffet was really underwhelming with just 7 stations.. no starters/kababs/papads or desserts. None of the dishes were Nepali! And it was a whopping 16$. I have had more awesome buffets in 10-12$ range in pricey, touristy spots but this one sure did not deserve the money we shelled out. Looks like most Indians/Nepalese are not happy with this place based on other reviews.

Pono Guerrero

They were really nice and welcoming for dinner. The food was delicious I had the coconut curry lamb and my vegetarian girlfriend had the cheese and spinach curry. They had allot of vegan options. Really vegan friendly dining. The atmosphere was really mellow, we were able to sit out on the lanai and watch the kids play in basketball in the park across the street.

Elizabeth Guthrie

made reservations. Guy on the phone said they dont usually but since we had a party of six it was okay. showed up on time and was told it was a 45 minute wait! not only that, but the owner was rude-- said he called my name and I wasn't there... at 645. I have been going here for 10 years and I was really surprised to be treated that way. after bouts of slow service and mediocre food this is really the LAST time I'll go there.

Alexandria Killian

The food is amazing, so much flavor!! Cozy/fun/quaint ambiance. Will definitely be going back for more asap!

Epiphany Fibersong

Great curries. Nice balcony with views of the ridge.

Rebecca Hamby

Wonderful service, delicious food!

Ashley Wilkinson

Food was delicious, and the owner was very friendly and fun to chat with.

Mae Fukushima

We ordered spice level 10 and found it spicy but enjoyable. They have a good selection of vegan food and a beautiful outdoor seating area.

Tyler Helfrich

Great chicken tikka masala.

Midwest Mayhem

We haven't even gotten our bill yet and I had to come and give this review. Of all my 5 star reviews this one is a 9.9. The Paneer Kulcha naan bread and Lamb Madras were can't stop talking about it good. Our friends who live here recommended this place and we can't be happier they did.

nocholas dudeson

The buffett was amazing and had lots of selections, including some great deserts like rice pudding.

dwd 626

It took a long time for the food to come. They were busy so the reputation must be good. But the food itself weren't that impressive. We thought we were trying new food (Nepali) but they have awards display saying they won award several years back for "best Indian food". Well, their lamb curry is very mediocre.compared to other Indian restaurants we've been to. The nepali vege chef's special has a sour taste. Other dishes are also have moreto desire.

Jack Jacobson

Indian fare. We asked for mild and got at least moderately spicy food. I doubt I'd go back

Matt Morgan

The food is above average, maybe 7.5 to 8.5 out of 10. You can drink. The staff could be a little faster with the initial drink/app order and sometimes they can forget about you for a bit. The chicken is occasionally rock hard. Everything else is great.

Dayle Scheinman

I was in Salt Lake City for the week and went to different restaurants for lunch and dinner. This place was hands down the best place that I experienced. We enjoyed the lamb and goat and the place itself is quiet and nice. Even the background music was cool, calming and helped give the restaurant a great vibe.

Clinton Nash

Phenomenal cuisine. I had lunch here, alone. I ordered an appetizer, two entrees, dessert and a beer and it was reasonably priced. The portions were large enough that I ate for several days on the leftovers.

Iris

Fantastic service and food! And love the outdoor seating!

Gabriel Bringas

Great Food!!

Renee Kanga

Buffet only had chicken and no other meats.

Michelle Kerklo

Noah was the best!

Alex C

Delicious food in great setting with prompt service.

Asher Wry

so good, I love everything I've tried here, only downside is it's usually busy, but I guess that's a good sign :)

Neffles P

The food was good and came out in a timely manner. Our server was a bit rude and condescending. For this reason, I will never go back.

Deborah Kula

great service. Excellent food. Loved the biryani

Juilien Svoboda

Nice Indian cuisine.

Charnay Bland

It gives me the taste of Nepal in Hawai'i, I love the food and the intimate setting

Missy Welsh

Great taste, customized spice levels and wonderful servers with extensive knowledge of dish options.

Marie Marie

Food is a 3 - make sure you order "less salt", but staff and evening on the patio are a 4.

Alexandra Lane

Delicious food and a lovely rooftop eating area. Friendly and knowledgeable wait-staff.

Kenneth Christensen

I've only been here for the lunch buffet so far. It was great bang for the buck! Happily ate from a fair selection of good food until I was stuffed for less than I'd pay for the entree at some of my other favorite Indian/Nepali restaurants. It didn't have a "wow factor" in quality or service, but it is definitely worth trying!

ISADORA STORMY

Authentic sooo good

Cobey Williamson

One of the best meals I've had. After chatting with the owner, had the traditional platter, which amounted to trying a bulk of the menu. Everything was delicious, from the naan to the goat curry. If you're in Salt Lake City, do yourself a favor and go here. It's less a restaurant than lsharing a meal with friends.

vincent matheny

The lamd is/was super soft and juicy. Ill definitely be going back for more. Speaking of getting more. I ordered more food to bring home.

fredsjkd

Took my daughter to dinner on 5/22/2018 at 6:30pm and ordered Lamb Biryani, Lamb Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag, Naan, Roti and Mango Lassi. Took the leftovers home only to discover a COCKROACH in the Lamb Biryani as i was mixing in the sauce from the Lamb Tikka Masala (images attached). Called Department of Health Food and Sanitation and reported the findings and also provided the images. Absolutely disgusting!!

Khushi Shah

Nice place to eat Indian cuisine and nice for small functions.

Justin Tucker

Definitely the best Indian food on the island and the best Indian food that I tasted in a long time. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food the atmosphere is wonderful. They have seats outside that you can enjoy the weather and watch the sunset

Lonny Ward

The food is amazing! The owner is a very personal and kind man. The atmosphere is very peaceful. It is a must for great food and atmosphere!

Seth Barrett

So damn good. But of a wait, but BYOB so it's all good.

Varun Shankar

This place is great. Their food is delicious, the Nepalese options are legitimately good, and the Indian food has unique flavour and freshness. I've been going here 9 years, and their quality has been remarkably consistent.

Piyush Thukral

Food was rather poor devoid of any good flavors, aroma, taste visual appeal. It would be a crime to call this food Indian. I am a die hard foodie who know how to cook good food and know when the food is now fresh and can say with certainty that the food I ate was not fresh at all. First and last time...would not recommend.

Akshara Shah

Donot order platter at night. Samosas and pakoras were cold. Tasted old.

Kai - Lani

We are a couple from Hawaii born an raised. How we have missed this restaurant is beyond me. We have eaten at every place surrounding here, just never here. Well all I can say is if you want the most delicious, flavorful, ambiance atmosphere and you love Indian food. Don't waste your money any place else. Fabulous, why now? Well doctor said I needed to make life changes and eat healthy after research I discovered, turmeric is my BF and vegetables and curry and fish they had it all an the largest selection of NAN bread. Although out of wheat we will be back. Great service and the rice omg, this is a must visit and try.

Prachi Doshi

Nice authentic Indian food ...we loved it ...we going for it again.

Tiffany Smolka

Best indian food in town!! This is my fav place to go for indian food. The owner is so nice! The veggie momos, tikka masala, and tandori (the mint sauce can't be beat!) are my favorites. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

andre jones

Amazing food, I had to try it twice just to be sure. Will definitely be going back.

Sam M

Exceptional food.

Chandra Kanth Reddy

Okish Indian food.

Laura Lunt

The chicken coconut curry was fantastic, the naan was perfect. I would def come back here even though parking is kinda a pain

James Hutcherson

Best Indian curry in Salt Lake. I got the chicken curry, very hot, for take out. When I got home and had a bite, I was blown away. The naan was better than I've had from anywhere else. Easily beats any other curry I've had in Salt Lake.

Bryan Dickson

Excellent Indian food, never disappoints. The staff is always kind and helpful and ambiance pleasant and welcoming. Himichal Chicken Wings are the best hot wings of any type I've had. Lamb curry and vindaloo are excellent. I order pretty hot and still they retain rich and complex flavor. Too often the heat can overshadow the flavor but the Himalayan can serve heat with flavor and that keeps me coming back. I had the lamb Madras curry tonight and the lamb was tender and the curry light and flavorful with good heat but the vindaloo is still my favorite here.

Rob

BEST Indian food in SLC! Hands down!

Alan Gregg

Tasty food mild to spicy, your choice

Nathan Tafoya

Buffett was delicious

Gin Carter

One of my absolute favorite places to eat! Wish I lived closer so I could go more often. Friendly staff. Amazing food. Headed here tonight with 20+ girl friends and they are happy to accommodate us. Love this place so much!

Angie Dunn

This was one of my favorite lunchtime spots but the last two times I’ve been disappointed. Today, I met friends for lunch. The restaurant was not very clean and the food was luke warm at best. The service was great but they need to do some deep cleaning and make sure the food is hot. 2.5 stars is more accurate.

Nader el attrache

Cheap restaurant. food doesn't taste bad but it' so little that we paid $15 for 4 pieces of chicken smaller than the golf balls didn't come with anything else just bread. And the service was so bad.

Blake Harris

Love this place. I only live a few blocks away and always find myself ordering from here. The chicken vindaloo with garlic naan bread is my favorite. The selection of food is amazing. I'm always bringing friends here and will continue to do so for a long time. If you want to try out a different style of food give this place a try.

Taylor Hutchinson

Fantastic spiked lassi.

Zoo12389

Absolutely delicious. I’ll be back

Natalie Hunt

Food was amazing! Service was VERY friendly and helpful, but you must be patient cause they're super slow.

Gregg Trenery

Small kitchen so food takes a little longer but definitely worth the wait. Just enjoy the company. Good service, friendly and helpful with advice.

Psi Borger

Great food and service

Scott Schorzman

Awesome Indian food! Rachel did a great job for a table of 12. Next trip to SLC I'll return to Himalayan Kitchen.

Puneet Tejsinghani

After 6 days in Hawaii, my wife and I craved Indian food and went to this place based on reviews. Fortunately, we ordered for take out, as the restaurant was crazy busy and I noticed the flustered staff while I waited 25 minutes for my carry out order despite ordering 25 minutes before arrival. When the order finally arrived, we were given the wrong appetizers - non veg instead of the vegetarian we ordered. Thankfully, I checked, or they were already bagging it. We ordered two entrées, paneer tikka and Malai kofta and to our shock, both had the same gravy. We wouldn't have cared if the gravy was good, but it was extremely extremely salty and almost unpalatable. The reason I gave two stars and not one, is that to make up for the wrong starter, they gave us complimentary samosa and were polite throughout. Overall, we've learnt not to eat Indian food in Oahu.

Jasmine

Good flavor and they have vegan options

Peter

Going to have to give this place three stars. Went here last week with the family and definitely falls in the OK category. The decor and location are OK as is the food but way overpriced and BYOB always annoys me (though I understand the difficulties in getting liquor licenses in Honolulu). Wife got the chicken tikka masala while I got the pilau basamti rice and we were both extremely disappointed. Neither was very rich in the flavor we expected (both of us having lived in Doha and Dubai with lots of authentic Nepalese and India cooking; I also having a Nepalese uncle) and the spice (heat) left much to be desired. Basically tasted on par with the indian fast food joints you stumble across occasionally in malls as opposed to a proper Indian restaurant or even frozen dinners. One shining point was the garlic naan which truly was awesome though not sure worth going just for it. The main downside TBH was the price; was priced way above what it should have been given the quality and would only even consider going again if the prices dropped about 33% and even that's pushing it. If I'm getting television dinner quality, I'm expecting television dinner pricing.

Adhar Ynique

Service is bad like really bad. Just because your customer is Nepali doesn't mean that person is no more a customer. We went there for Bison Momo but we were not that happy. The cover was too chewy and thick. Last time was so much better (6 months ago).

Ethan Ray

Best India food around! It's great that you can order from DoorDash too!

Tiffany Huddleston

Love this place

Daniel Fa

This place is amazing. The food is flavorful, authentic, and all you can eat. Love their butter chicken. Owner and staff are friendly. Great service, great food!

Melissa Lawrence

Food is delicious. Staff is nice. It was nice to see the owner waiting tables and talking to the guests. Place is fairly clean. Just be prepared to spend about 2 hours here. It's a relaxing, slow paced place to eat and talk. Will go again.

Matt Milliner

Pretty good, cheap lunch buffet. Wish is was better stocked. Little slim during lunch rush

Michael Tapley

Food was OK and service good. I’ve had better curries elsewhere but admittedly not in Hawaii

Nicholette Brasher

Truly amazing place. If you want authentic, Nepal Indian food come here! This was the best food I have ever tasted. I had both the regular Naan and garlic Naan. Both were great. The entree’s were a la cart. We had lamb curry and chicken Tikka masala. Both items with basmati rice. I recommend both!

Jennifer Morris

Two of the three dishes that we ordered were good. The third dish is one we've ordered many times but this time it was made differently and not at all what we wanted. Since it is my husband's favorite (and he didn't eat it at all) he was very disappointed. The server was very unfriendly, but did his job well. If you live in the area, this is a decent choice. But if you are like me and not located in the downtown area, it's not a restaurant worth commuting too.

Suzan Young

I had the Aaloo Mattar, it was so delicious. Service was great - very helpful.

Carson Myers

If you are willing to wait you will get the best Indian food on Oahu. I try to change it up every time, but so far my favorite is the chicken korma.

Steven Gelb

All 3 dishes we had were very good. I've lived in Oakland near Berkeley that had a lot of Indian. My nephew lived in Freemont. And now I live not far from Irvine. I've been to a lot of Indian places. This one is very good.

Annwyn C

Nice garden, lots of art, ethnic music. The food was great, servers were vigilant. The platters weren't spotless and the place looked worn down, which is the only reason to drop a star. If they put a couple hundred to fix the fraying table cloths and wipe down their plates better, this would he a five star place for flavor, ambiance, and price.

Gen Nagaya

We ordered two different curries and they were awfully salty. I've never taken time to write a review on restaurants but it was that salty that i decided to write this. Though friendly, the waiters aren't efficient that we had to wait for a long time for the check and the receipt. I won't go there again.

Roshan Karki

Very tasty food.

Scott Custer

Great service! Delicious food. Wife and I had a great date night here. Tip: The curries are spicy. So if you can't tolerate more than medium on a Mexican dish, you'd better stick with Mild here. It's still yummy!

Yeetle Beetle

Really great taste and price

Loleni Nu'usila

I loved the food but the service lacked a bit. The new server who served us was great, it was the waiting time on our food that was a bit of an inconvenience.

Joshua Cameron

The Vindaloo is off the hook. Have yet to be disappointed by any of the food. The buffet is quality and it is within walking distance of The Heave Metal Shop. Total score!

Dave North

It was my first time eating Pakistani food, but I enjoyed it. Because it is a buffet they kept the food on the "Not too spicy" side, which was possibly appreciated.

Seth Piper

The Curry here is amazing. Good spot for groups as the food is served to share

Colleen Heyer

DO NOT order from Grubhub for this restaurant. I went to pick up my order and Himalayan said they do not use Grubhub. So I had to wait another 30 minutes for the food to get ready, and who heck got my money? We love the curries though.

AJ Zane

This is a great, homey spot. It's incredibly easy to have a filling vegan and gluten-free meal. The service is a little chaotic, but the staff is nice and the food is delicious. If you're not planning on leaving with a box, you can easily split one menu item with two people.

Lizette Roberson

Best indian food in SLC!!! Vegetable coconut korma with garlic naan

Nikita G

The lunch buffet here is awesome and well priced. The butter chicken is my favorite!

Mark Mitchell

The waitstaff was limited during my visit so a much-needed water refill didn't happen. That aside, this Northern-style food was very good. Their tandoori chicken is of the best I've experienced; they cook it over charcoal (unlike some who use gas) and the flavor is incredible. Their Punjabi-style saag is very good as well, a different style than most offer. Would recommend to any Indian food fan!

Alyssa McKnight

The gal that helped me was super friendly. A little confusing to order from (over the phone) but nice enough. But I got there and the guy who helped me was a bit short with me. Got home and saw they forgot part of my order. Gave them a call and the guy who answered (different guy) said “oh yeah, we just forgot to put it in the bag. It’s ready for you to pick up though” WHAT?!?! I wasn’t about to drive back for one dish! So he offers me a refund...he tells me the amount of the refund and it’s the price of the dish WITHOUT TAX. I confirmed this and he say “correct without tax”. So I asked “you’re going to make me pay for tax on something I didn’t pay for?” So he asked me to provide my credit card for $0.34!! The food itself was okay. The rice was disgusting- hard and clumpy- and I can’t believe the amount they gave us was a “family” size but it didn’t even fill up half a plate lunch box, not even close. We asked for level 2 and also medium for dishes and got way spicier than that. Probably won’t go back.

Thurman Scott II

Plenty of veggie options, nice atmosphere, accommodating staff.

Joshua de Groot

Their food is top-notch delicious. There was a wall with cool pictures of a Mt. Everest climb. Service does not seem attentive, so I'd go there more for the food than the experience.

Nathaniel Allen

Himalayan kitchen has delicious food and wonderful quick and friendly service. Their prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. This place has quickly become one of my girlfriend and I'd go-to spots when we're in the city. They have vegetarian and vegan options so anyone can eat here :)

J P

Hands down the Indian food is the best on island. Service is good. Price is equal to the quality of food.

Jaclyn Guenther

Not the largest portions, moderately priced, but delicious food with unique twist you will find no where else on the island

Kimo Loui

Food ok, watch for overcharging

Lisa Hall

The food is flavorful and delicious, with several different options. My one thing is to go early though, it does seem like the food dries out a bit and gets kind of dry from sitting out later in the lunch hour. Their saag paneer is definitely one of the better ones I've tried though, I could eat just that and be satisfied.

Angie Savage

This place is so so so good. You won't regret going there. I promise.

xeed9

soooo good indian food i love it

GaGa USA

just okay ~ seating inside the dining room is kinda hot if there's no breeze.

philip whitlock

Very pleased with menu great to try something new

Dawson Poteat

This place is absolutely vile. I went for the lunch buffet, this chicken was cold and pink in the center the rice made a tink* when it hit the place. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! It is unsafe to eat here it is a deaf sentence, it need to get shut down before anyone has to go to the hospital or worse dies

Gautham Rathinam

Decent place for Indian food in Honolulu especially when you are craving for Indian food. We had the mixed biriyani and it was very good. Finding the restaurant was a challenge as neither Apple maps nor google maps took us to ge right spot, we had to enter through the back streets and through the parking lot to the restaurant located on the first floor.

Richard Moonshade

Server and busser was amazing, and polite, I was sharing my plate and when he asked how it was I said it was perfect but for the person I was sharing with, it was a bit too spicy. He asked if we needed yogurt to cut the spice or even have it remade! We declined both options. But it was very much appreciated, our water glasses were always tended to, never got to be half empty. The food, splendid, meat was tender and the curry was top notch, rice was light, fluffy and delicious and the naan bread was fresh out the oven.

KETAN SANGHVI

#Jain food #Veg Food #awesome food #excellent taste #super service and cooperative staff

Jonathan Sanders

I don't understand why this place isn't more popular. We shared six different entrees and they all were phenomenal.

Greg Harris

Wow. Yum. Will be back very soon!!!

Ragnhild Dalen

This is the second time I've been to the restaurant and it was a little disappointing this time. The food was mediocre and didn't have too much flavor, and the waiter got our order wrong twice. For the price it is not that good.

Sovit Bhetwal99

The nonveg thali is amazing. Great ambience, friendly staff and owner. Goat curry is too good.

Hamid Cheese

Good food good customer services!

K Aerie

Good food! Especially the chicken coconut curry... I would definitely recommend that. The service was very friendly, but the production speed is low. Had to wait more than 30 mins for our good. Worth a try!

Jerom

Great food friendlyvand knowlageable service The best indian nepalese restaurant we tried so far. The cocktail was a disaster but the curry were awesome.

Robert Foster II

Food was delicious but not worth the hassle. Dirty dishes, drinks came out at weird times, service was apathetic. Bill took 20mins to get and was off by $25. Not good..

Yijun He

Phenomenal goat curry. Really spicy, which I like. Also enjoyed the Himalayan tea and the chicken momos.

Vania Uribe

It is my FAVORITE place to eat on the island! I've invited friends and family and returned with them all the day after because it's just that good! It's now our go-to dinner place to eat every weekend for my boyfriend and I. The service is friendly, attentive, and they remember your face. It's so delicious that we went for a whole week everyday to see if they had opened during their close for a week because of renovation purposes. That's when we realized how we can't live without It! There should be a location in Waikiki and every big city all across the country.

Glenn Jackson

Atmosphere Atmosphere Atmosphere! Oh, and the food is FANTASTIC!!!!

Jacqueline Phillips

Good food and good service at reasonable prices. I've eaten there three times now and will continue to do so.

Patrick Bostick

great buffet, everything was very good. tasty pashwari naan as well.

Connor Douglas

Vegetable Korma is great. Food is a little pricey, but worth it. Best in SLC.

Jiajun Kang

Great food, friendly servers

Lisa Baxter

Great food, great ambiance, great service. Sums it up.

Suresh Mokana

Nice place to try. We ordered Tandoori chicken and Chicken biryani. Tandoori was awesome, we loved it. Chicken biryani was not Hyderabadi style biryani and not that spicy but it tasted good. Staff was so kind and friendly.

Verma Family

I wish I could not give this star either! I placed just one Indian vegetable order for to-go. I was amazed to see the size of container which was not filled up till top and was charged around $16??? Vegan places pack you two orders for that money!! And upon complaining that cunning smile that makes me mad

Puja Rahul

The ambiance was fun. The place doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you make your way upstairs you’ll find a charming rooftop restaurant that transports you to a quaint Himalayan village. The food is delicious but a bit on the spicy side. Be sure to request mild seasoning and Raita/yogurt on the side. Cocktails were on point. The only disappointment was the service. Our server was not able to handle the busy evening rush and other staff had to step in often to assist him. He just seemed lost. Other than that, we loved the place and would recommend it highly.

gregory albares

Always great food great service

Maria Popova

Food is amazing price is good.

Chantelle Sherland

Got the chicken coconut curry. It was so yummy. They had vegan and gluten free options. Awesome hurricanes. They were about to accommodate nine of us with a ton more space. Very nice experience.

Monica de la Cerda

Really enjoy the flavor and perfectly spiced food here. Have never had a disappointing meal and crave so many of their dishes especially the lamb shank masala.

Kevan McCann

Great selection of Himalayan/Nepali specialty cuisine.

Matheson Harris

Great selection of Indian and Nepalese food. Nice atmosphere. Not busy the night we went. Not the best Indian in Salt Lake, but decent.

Candace Garner

I love this place. I get dinner here probably once a week. They have such a huge selection, especially for vegetarians like myself. I've tried probably the majority of the veggie dishes they make and have never gotten anything that I disliked. Some of my favorites are the Navaratna Korma and the Saag Paneer. Just tonight I tried the Vegan Salad and it was fantastic, big portion, very fresh, and the dressing was delicious. Service is great, they always make sure to keep your water full. I get takeout a lot as well and it's quick and packed well.

P. Stauffer

My Navatran Korma on the dinner menu was very thick and not creamy. It was paste. I still enjoyed it 'okay'.

Tamilarasan M

Good place for North Indian food

Junaid Bhatti

The food is just not good. All the dishes we ordered tasted the same. Tikka Masalla is just Tikka curry. CHicken korma was just chicken curry. The place has good ambiance, that's about it. We requested to be seated next to the window and was told, No, because that’s for 6 people and we were 4. They didn’t even have 6 people besides us in the entire hall.

Kirsten S

It's just okay. With so many Indian choices in SLC, you're better off going to Bombay or somewhere else. It's pretty meh.

S K

Delicious curry and masala, the nan are excellent. Fast service and expect spend $15-20 a person. The restaurant can seat lots of people feel like a miniature cafeteria, but seems less occupied with the homelessness nearby. But that’s ok, more good food for us.

Data Gill

One of my favorite restaurants on the island. They definitely know curry and spices to sooth your cravings...

John Jacobson

Service was a bit slow and inattentive, but price was reasonable and the food tasted good. Unfortunately I found probably 4-5 hairs across various dishes, so I doubt I'll return.

Emily Spencer

Try the chili with potato our daughter picked that dish and it was our favorite. Everything was delicious!

Monique Mitchell

Fine location for quality Nepalese food. Fast and courteous service. I can see why they have so many reviews.

Rajkumar Bandela

Buffet is not at all good food. Waste of money, it's not worth it. Don't waste your money. They are cheating the people.

Lila Bahadur

Nice ambeance inside with good nepali and Indian food

Heather K

Excellent fresh baked naan.

Sanjeev Acharya

They seriously need to rework their chicken chilli! U just don't add some tomato sauce on chicken and call it chicken chilli. Same thing with lamb lamb choila. Honestly, it was a huge disappointment. Samosas were good though.

Love this place. The atmosphere is great and the outdoor seating area has a great vibe. The most important part is the food though, and this place doesn't disappoint. My wife and I loved both of our curry dishes and naan bread. We plan on visiting regularly despite living on the other side of the Island.

Wow. The service was as good as the food which was excellent. Very cosy welcoming atmosphere with a cool balcony to sit at. Although the balcony is very popular so call ahead if you really want to sit there.

This buffet is one of the best lunch buffet deals in downtown SLC. And is offered nearly every day at lunch time. The food is great and the restaurant is suprisingly not super busy even at noon. So it's easy to get a seat.

Tasty food and friendly service. Love the curries. A definite must go to restaurant when that Himalayan Tibetan food urge hits.

I went there for a company celebration. We had buffet style food. The really enjoyed the appetizers they served. The staff was really nice and friendly. They got our plates really quickly. The bartenders service was nice and fast. The bar had a good selection of drinks to serve from. I will be going back for sure.

I LOVE this place! It’s my go-to Indian food restaurant in Salt Lake City. The food is fantastic, the staff are very friendly, and not overbearing. It’s incredibly vegetarian friendly, there are tons of delicious options on the menu! The spice level of both the mild and medium dishes is very easy to handle, haven’t tried the hot yet, but I suspect it’s delicious as well. The food is served family-style, so it’s easy to share. The restaurant is never too loud. Parking is occasionally difficult, but there is a garage behind the restaurant and metered parking along the street. I 10/10 recommend eating here!
