Great breakfast! Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The service was good and the location is awesome. We walked about 2 miles on the beach from the other side of the Black Rock to get here, we ate and then swam back to our side of the rock. A really great family adventure to and fro with a really nice breakfast in between.

Went here with my husband for our one date night out on a family trip. Such a beautiful setting and perfect date night backdrop. The drinks are very good here. We both ordered the steak and wish we had just decided to share one because we were so full from the bread and two appetizers we shared. The food was great quality the steak was just a bit under seasoned. The staff was very friendly I would definitely come here again.

My family and I came here for dinner the other night. The food was great and the service was great. It’s a nice place to bring your family. 100% recommend trying their signature dessert it was insanely good. Make sure you make a booking this place is very popular.

Ordered food and after 30 minutes of waiting, still have gotten food. Asked the waiter how long before food comes, tells me avg wait time is 30-40 minutes to get your food. Thats terrible since I have never waited this long at other Dukes locations. Another annoying part was asking for our appetizer order 3 times. My next favorite part was they rushed the dinner order because of closing time. I guess sitting down an hour prior to closing time isn’t good enough for a meal here. 10% off bill doesnt warrant a come back visit here. Last thing, the lobster tail is terrible. Thanks for a great wedding dinner Dukes.

Poached eggs were really hard. $12 fruit platter had four small pieces of fruit, expected more for the price. Granola and avocado toast were excellent. Very good location and great staff.

My husband and I spent 5 days at the Aston Mahana. Our unit had a kitchen so we could cook and eat on our Balcony while watching the sunset. Dukes, just a few steps away from our condo, was our favorite spot for breakfast and dinner when we chose not to cook. The Onolicious French Toast was my faves for breakfast and for dinner, the snapper was awesome. One night, we walked over to Dukes just to get some Huli Pie to go. The staff at Dukes are awesome and fun. It does get crowded at dinner time, but well worth the wait.

Vacationing in Maui, found Dukes at another resort nearby. The ambiance was beautiful and indoor outdoor eating. The people were friendly and service top notch as judged by the fact I never ran out of water. I ordered the Macadamia crusted Ono which was delicious and my husband ordered the sirloin with lobster tail. Both were great and tasty. I had a Cab to drink and husband had the Caliente drink. Cab was good California wine but could have missed the tame Caliente drink Overall great way to end our vacation on Maui. We will be back for sure.

Beautiful location--- but there was 2 long blonde hairs wrapped around the pineapple in my mai tai. The Korean sticky ribs were very salty. The ribs my husband ordered didn't match the flavor description they were supposed to to have a mango BBQ sauce. They had it on one side ,the other side was naked. Crab cakes were watery guess I should have looked for the word lump so I wouldn't get cat food. I was more concerned about too much breading. Too bad the food doesn't represent the beautiful location---. Won't be reccomending this place unless I want them to be robbed.

Don't expect any special local menu! It's your regular burgers, sandwiches, other western foods. Their servers were good and friendly. Taste is average. A little pricey for your average food type.

Enjoyed the food and service, fresh breeze off the ocean and delightful live music. The patio seating is not really “on the beach” like the Waikiki location, so the sunset views are not quite as stunning. Overall a fun experience

It is a pretty place. The food was marginal. The vegetables on all nine meals were inedible, hard as rocks, zero taste and most were cold. We ate at 5:30 so all should have been fresh. The baked dukes styke was mahi mahi with a lemon butter glaze. I scraped the glaze off to find a decent cut of fish with a basil taste but could eat nothing else. The hot dog the child ordered was almost burned and the bun over toasted and crunchy. The coconut shrimp was wonderful. The next two fish items on the menu were no better than my entree and none of ate it all. The ribs were the best thing out of 8 different choices. Would never go back!

We had dinner and lunch here, both experiences we're terrific. The Hulu pie was amazing, our kids loved sharing it. Definitely also recommend the Nachos when here for lunch or happy hour.

Highly recommend the banana mac nut pancakes, they are very good! My wife got the breakfast burrito and neither of us cared for it but that's not to say it was bad, just not our idea of a good breakfast burrito. The view is of course fantastic being on the beach with the islands in the distance. I want to give it 3 stars because we sat around for quite a long time waiting to even be given water or anything and they were not busy, but our server was very nice even though real slow, but kindness goes a long way to me so I'll give it 4 stars

Duke’s is an overhyped, average restaurant that delivers a terrible experience. First off, we went to Duke’s to simply order dessert, and we found that there was a 45 minute wait. We were told to go to the back bar, passing plenty of open tables that weren’t available to our party simply to order dessert. We sat at the bar for 15-20 minutes and we were not acknowledged ONCE. Servers at the bar didn’t make any eye contact with us, nothing. Terrible experience. Bad management, bad employees, bad service. Duke’s has gained a false reputation.

Favorite meal of our trip! Beautiful view, ocean breeze, delicious meal. We both ordered the Macadamia crusted mahi mahi and it was great. Flavorful, nice light sauce, fresh veggies not overcooked, rice was tasty and had some interesting grains mixed in. We loved it. Call first - we arrived at 2pm and the hostess wouldn't seat us. She brunch was over, but we were too early for dinner, and she said we had to wait on some barstools. (Wierd, but ok - nice view, we can order drinks & wait for dinner...) But then the bartender told us we could sit down, and they gave us the brunch menu. Printed at the top: brunch until 3pm. Confusing. So glad they were still serving brunch because our meal was awesome!!

Great food. We were able to be seating in a place where we had an awesome ocean view but protected from the afternoon sun. The seafood is decent and the prices aren't bad. The service we had was quick and professional. The atmosphere was casual and quiet at lunch time.

Had breakfast. Very overpriced. Waited over 20 minutes to get coffees to us. Set aside the location which is nice...but all beachside restaurants in Maui are. You can’t get just bacon and eggs. Bacon is extra. The food was okay at best. Much better breakfast options available in the same area. Our first table was on a busy walk through area for the staff. After my wife had her seat bumped into well over 12 times we had to be moved. All these 5 star reviews must be folks who haven’t had breakfast anywhere else in Maui?

Our dinner at Duke's was fantastic! The food was prepared perfectly. My wife had the pork ribs and I had the pork shank. They were delicious! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Everyone has a beautiful view of the sunset. They are a little on the pricey side, but well worth it! Highly recommend.

Great family restaurant! With two kids (2) and (4) wait times and timely service are key in where we pick to eat at. Upon arriving we were quickly seated at our table. David our server was attentive and and timely with bringing out our food once ordered. Great atmosphere

Our waiter, Carlos, was 100% everything you could ask for. Friendly, professional, polite, and he was extremely serious about our allergen issues. The "tacos" were great, but the seafood salads were pretty bland. Fresh seafood! But a little seasoning would've been a big plus.

Just went here for lunch. Waiter literally paid zero attention to us. Took 25 to get a salad, then he realized he forgot to add the order of grilled chicken for to the salad, so he made us wait 20 more minutes for that. While the salad sat in front of us in the heat. He didn’t offer to comp the chicken at least. He never refilled our water. It wasn’t extremely busy so it was just bad service. We had reservations for dinner and we will definitively be cancelling. Worst lunch we’ve had since being in Hawaii for 2 weeks.

Dukes at Honu Kai was great. Though it was a very busy night with a half hour wait when we first arrived...10 minutes later we were able to get a seat at the bar and service was great with Christina (bar tender/server). She was attentive, personable, professional and made sure we were taken care of. Great overall experience with a nice ambiance!

Wish they had a few more vegetarian options but it’s a good place for a drink and desert. If you want to sit at the bar or the tables around the bar has seat yourself and full service so it’s a good option if you don’t want to wait for a regular tables. Great staff and very accommodating. Had a very rude man steal our table but the hostess was so nice, saw what happened and got us a table right away. Thanks so much Amber and Crystal, you really went above and beyond and made our night extra special!!

Started our vacation off right with dinner here!! Great spot to unwind after a long day of travels. Awesome views, friendly staff! Highly recommend the fresh fish preparations!!! The "Duke's Style" was probably our hands down favorite. It was a Mahi Mahi for us, and the seasoning complimented the fish without overwhelming the natural flavors. Perfectly cooked! We also really enjoyed the Seared Ahi with the chili sauce/seasoning.

I really like this place, and used to frequent here a lot. When I come here I tip 50% but, the last two times I've been here I've felt unwelcome. I'm polite to staff, dress nice (slacks and aloha shirt), and smell well (Versace Cologne); although I still feel like I'm unwelcomed by staff. I like the food, the hostesses, and some of the bartenders a lot but, I don't think I want to come here anymore.

Give me Duke's of a couple years ago... Any day. My wife and I walked up for dinner and were waiting a long time for the couple in front of us to be seated. We quickly found out why, apparently they have to instant message a scheduling coordinator for seating assignments. The couple in front of us, quickly walked back after determining that the assigned table was not appropriate... And the hostess then proceeded to get the coordinator on the phone. Rinse and repeat.. and this same thing was occuring with the couple behind us when we determined the table they sat us at would not work. We decided to pass and remember Duke's of the past.

Need to walk in through resort main entrance and off to the right toward the beach. Parking is a little weird but we found some guest spots. Had breakfast here (goes until 11am), all 4 of us really enjoyed the food. Pork was still moist and poached eggs were perfect.

We came during happy hour. The servers were terribly unfriendly and incredibly rude. They kept pointing us to different stations to put our name in. Each one was worse than the one before. I was handed a menu then a different server came and took it back. Spend your money somewhere else. So much for the Aloha spirit. :(

During our five nights on the island we stopped here twice for dinner. We ordered different items each time and loved them all! Excellent food served by attentive staff with care. Be sure to mention if you are celebrating anything-we were on our honeymoon and they made it special by bringing out hula pie at the end.

We kept on bumping into people who said Dukes was great so we had to stop by and try it out. We went for lunch and there was no wait. You have a nice view of the ocean. The Ono fish plate was really good. I would go back again.

A little spendy , but hey your in Maui what do u expect? The food quality is good. Almost very good. Their famous pie is out of this world. And one piece feeds three people dessert. That purchase is one you will not regret. Their Lava Flow was also delicious. Very creamy, and the strawberry taste wonderful I really like the atmosphere. Definitely a solid 4 star rating.

Love this place! Right on the beach. Great food. Worth the wait you usually have. And they always have room for my not so small service dog without a problem. When I go to Ka'anapali, I eat here multiple times during the trip. A dinner, a lunch, a breakfast.... It helps that it's close to the hotel, but I would drive if it weren't walking distance.

Duke's Beach House was very great. The view was really nice. The food was decently priced and delicious. The portions were fairly large as well. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and nice. They even gave us coupons for if and when we came back. It's in the resort so you have to park in the self parking at the resort. Very good all around I would definitely come back.

We stayed at the resort attached to Dukes and ate there twice. The first night I had a fish dish and it was the best fish I ever had. The second time I ate there I had a New York steak which I have had many of in my time and it rivals the best I have ever had. The only thinks better than the food was the service the waiter was great and made it a very personal experience on my birthday!!

Duke's chefs know how to prepare fish. It is never over cooked. Great views from the dining areas and tables just under the roof are protected from rain and the trade winds. Parking is free.

Delicious food with great service... what more could you ask for when on vacation?! We enjoyed the outdoor seating area where they were able to accommodate a highchair. The drinks were cold and worth the 20min walk it took us from our condo.

Kinda disappointing considering the prices and the wait. I ordered a steak which was pretty small for the price and tasted good enough. I could probably get a comparable steak from chili's or something for half the price. We had a nice view though so that's a plus.

Dukes on Maui is always one of our "treat eats" when we're able to come to Maui. Food is very good, prices not bad... Super ocean views! Their staff are always very friendly and welcoming too. Four stars this time because the person looking after our table may have been having a not very good day... though she did try to be friendly. We vacationers tend to sometimes forget that the people living in Paradise have the same challenges that we deal with in our regular lives. Still, a good place to put on your list of restaurants!

We had the best time at Duke's! We had their happy hour with live music within our first few hours of coming to Maui and had the best service and experience. It was so nice we brought our family back and did it twice. John Rey was our server both times. He treated us like family and was more knowledgeable and professional than servers back home. Our family has a Dukes back home and were so impressed with how amazing the one is in Maui. Thanks to Dukes and John for making the start of our vacation out of this world.

The weekend brunch/lunch is delicious! Kid's meals are reasonably priced and come with a lot of food. The fresh fish was tasty and the hula pie is one of my favorite desserts. Beautiful views of the oceans and wonderful Mai Tai's. Service was great and we will be coming back again for sure!

I was going to rate one star due to the terrible customer service we received yesterday but when we ate there this morning it was better. Our first server was Dino and he was rude and did everything he could do avoid his tables. He didnt check on us once, and each time we said thank you he would just walk away without saying anything. The second day we had a great server. She was super sweet and was always making sure we were good! The food was okay but nothing to write home about.

The view and the Hula Pie are why I would go back! Good service even accommodated a Gluten Free hamburger(bun GF too!) order carefully having someone else carry it to the table to avoid cross contamination. They also had a GF cheesecake for desert! Go planning to spend a lot.

Celebrated my birthday at Duke's while on vacation on Maui, so happy my boyfriend chose this restaurant! I had the sea food risotto and it was absolutely incredible. He had a steak with mashed potatoes and he also enjoyed his meal very much. The service is amazing, we were sat outside at a candle lit table with tiki torches everywhere. It was so nice! The food was pricey but not unusually so for being on Maui. They gave us free dessert since it was my birthday and now I dream of that cake all the time it was so good! I believe it was called something Hula Cake? I wish I could remember! Anyway, highly recommend this restaurant :)

My husband and I had breakfast here on August 21, 2109. His omelet looked and tasted like it had been pre-made, removed from it’s package and micro-waved. Not fresh at all. My macadamia pancakes also seemed to have been micro-waved. They were tough and the bottom one was so stuck to the plate it was inedible. Very disappointing.

This was definently not what I expected. The calamari was awesome and cooked perfectly, the ribs appetizer were dry and either over cooked or over smoked. I just had a little after a member of our party didn't like them. The main courses were a bit small for the money and took forever to come out with a half empty restaurant and it being 9pm, but the drinks were priced right for the area. As for service, it took longer than expected to get my wine to me and one wine order never made it out Great service can make an average meal outstanding.

Great food but the hostess was very rude and unfriendly. If the hostess was not such a problem it would earn five stars. Also the waiter was fantastic and so was (most) of the staff. Had a great night.

We went to Duke’s the other night, the food is expensive and the service is very slow. When my 3 yro finally got her $9 hot dog it didn’t come out with any condiments, we had to wait another 15 min for ketchup. Drink orders took forever, so we only ended up having one. When our server came out with the bill, we asked her to break it up so the families could pay separately, she gave me major attitude (which was seen by everyone at our table) rolled her eyes and said we should have told her at the beginning we wanted separate bills. Maybe so but where I come from this is a pretty standard question. We’ll never go back which is really too bad because it is a lovely location.

I'd highly recommend to avoid. Long wait with not that many guests eating. Then once we ordered it took over 30 minutes to get our food, which was barely warm. I'd ordered my steak medium rare and as pics show it was between medium well to well done. Once I pointed out the steak issue the server did apologize and offer to fix but I was starving at this point and didn't want to wait for it to get redone. The server then dropped our check within about 5 minutes of delivering our food. The manager did comp the steak which is appreciated but we were never checked on again. As I said , poor service and the food was average at best. There are a lot better places to eat on Maui.

Stopped by Dukes for Sunday brunch and a taste of the famous Hulu Pie. Our server Stephanie was super. She treated us with so much Aloha, even though we were sharing an entree and dessert. Will definitely come back for the great service. Breakfast burrito and pie were both very tasty!

Terrible service. The server was not attentive at all. He would disappear for long periods of time. Ordered a filet well done. I know chefs hate that, but we sent it back once, and it still has pink/red in the middle. Should have been butterflied. Restaurant was stand up and took the steak off of our bill, but the service was still terrible. We will not be back.

Gym For Sale

The restaurant itself is great. Nice atmosphere and great location right on the beach. Service was also great, staff is very friendly. We weren't all that impressed by the meal though. It wasn't bad, just not up to expectations. Starting with the bread, they serve basic dinner rolls. For a restaurant in this price range, I would have expected a nice sourdough. I also would have expected a dinner salad to be served with each meal given that an average plate here runs around $30. Most of us ordered a fish entree. Mine was a bit tough and seemed to lack flavor. My wife's swordfish was a bit dry as was the rice it was served with. Probably would not eat here again if served the same thing.
