Great place. Staff are super friendly.. recommended the poke bowl with spicy sauce - it was good however there was way too much sauce which over did it. The fish tacos were huge, hard to get it all in one bite but was delicious! Chips with volcano sauce was overkill with the sauce with the poke bowl. Next time I would just get normal dressing for poke bowl. But still great place and not too expensive

Had lunch at Coconut's Fish Taco ordered spicy poke and fish taco it was delicious. Very casual place and friendly staffs. Good service and reasonable price. Will be back for sure. Their poke is so tasty cost $16.49 per plate and fish taco $14.49 for two tacos.

Accidentally stumbled across this amazing eatery while in Maui. Best fish tacos! So glad to find out you don't have to come all the way to Maui to enjoy... they have a location in my home state too! This is the original flagship location. Don't be fooled by the strip mall location, you will be glad you came!!!

I would suggest coming here but beware, the last time we were there there were two employees that were doing their job but also slightly rude. Each taco is on a separate plate, we had our empty plate under the one with our second taco on it. One girl came over, she was tall with dark hair and asked if she could take our empty plates out of the way and said "under your plate". We said no as we were holding this generously filled taco with both hands and it was just awkward anyway. After that, this young boy came by and took our napkins and started to take the hand wipes they provide and then put them back on the table and asked if we wanted them. We were still eating at this time. This place seems to want to rush you out of there and it was a bit annoying the second time we went.

This is a perfect place to stop for food when you are in the area, the staff is friendly, helpful, and prompt. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is comfortable. The high prices are justified and worth visiting the establishment. We also had a manager come and speak to us about our meal and answer any questions.

Great restaurant, they've definitely stolen the fish burger from Paia Fish Market. But it is definitely comparable even though Paia Fish Market is open a location in Kihei. I will always return to this spot when I'm on the island friendly staff competitive prices never too crowded.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The fish tacos are tasty. The coconut milk coleslaw is unique and complements the dishes well. The fish and chips come with mahi mahi and Ono. The Ono has a texture like chicken so it is like a large chicken finger. The mahi mahi is flaky and awesome. The fries are addictive and I ate way too many of them.

The best fish tacos in Kihei! Even if you're not interested in fish tacos - they have you covered. After feeling way to queasy on an earlier - my stomach wasn't prepared for fish... so I did delicious chicken tacos. The staff were friendly and quite proud of where they worked. The prices are what should be expected in touristcentric and are competitive with other local restaurants. Watch your feet while eating outside and the local wildlife is super curious :P

The coleslaw was OK but need to be cut up smaller. The seafood chowder was ok but too pricey for a bowl of soup. Had too much salt and pepper. The coconut shrimp and fries were the best of the meal. Need another one or two dipping sauces. Do not like spicy dips.

Wife and I split two fish tacos and two pork tacos. A lot of food right there. But so good! May be strange, but the sauce for the pork tacos is amazing! I dipped some of the bigger pieces of cabbage on there and it was very nice. Would recommend both dishes and definitely this place. Don't miss out.

There are seats inside and out of the cafe and there was always a line to order when we were there. There is no need to have someone save places at a table as many people do; just order and there will be an open table somewhere. Everyone was pleasant and approached you with a smile. From the moment we ordered to the individuals taking our plates and then wiping down the tables, everyone was awesome and great to talk to. The wife ordered the fish tacos, I ordered the seared ahi plate, and we shared a cup of clam chowder. Delicious food. We are planning to stop by for lunch on our way to the airport. Good people, good food. What more can one ask for?

Unscrupulous business practice. Ate here with family. This is an eatery where you stand in line, place your order and pay, then find seating. They bring the food to your table. After reviewing the bill, I noted they added an automatic gratuity. I was not aware of the practice, nor did I see it posted. When paying the bill, they asked if I wished to add a tip, which I did. Later when reviewing the bill I noticed that I tipped twice. I filed a complaint on their website, addressed to the store/manager but did not receive a response. That was 1 month ago.

This is my 1st stop whenever I come to Maui. Service is always awesome. Everyone raves about their fish tacos and for good reason. They are amazing. However, their mahi mahi fish sandwich is one of my favorite meals anywhere. I get it blackened and it's prepared perfectly. Their homemade slaw adds to an already perfect sandwich. Side of shoestring fries and you're all set. They allow BYOB so pick up a six pack of your favorite beer and enjoy!

Portions were all very generous and the fish & chips came with ketchup, tartar sauce and my favorite - malt vinegar. Which anyone who really like fish and chips will always want! Inside decor is surf themed with surfboard/paddle tables & chairs. Very friendly staff!

Unless you really want a fork taco just get the taco mountain. We tried the fish taco and pork taco mountain the first time. The taco order comes as 2 tacos on separate plates. if you can figure out how to eat the taco without a fork good luck. The next time just went with a fish mountain and pork mountain. We decided we both liked the pork a little more. The fish was still very good.

At first you’re like, “okay, this is your typical fast foot fish and chips joint and it’s just going to be greasy and overpriced.” But the food is actually super well prepared and the portions are big and well made. I would compared it to getting well made food from a food truck. The only complaint is we wanted to sit outside and there wasn’t any room, it was packed. But there was still available seating inside.

I very rarely give out 5 star ratings but this place deserves it. The fish tacos are by far the best we have ever had with 17 ingredients. It would be a waste of a trip to Maui without visiting this place. The customer service was also fantastic!! Will definitely return when I am back on this island.

If I could name a place in Maui that embodies true Aloha spirit, Coconut's Fish Cafe would be it. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you're greeted with smiles and Aloha. The cashier was incredibly friendly, making quick small talk while taking our orders quickly. We were then given our table number and were asked to sit wherever we wanted and our food would be brought over to us. Our order of Coconut Shrimp and Chips and cup of Seafood Chowder came within 5 mins! Even though our food came in very quickly, this was far from a fast food joint. The flavors were spot on, and they had many bottles of different sauces that you could personalize your sauces. They had this bottle of hot sauce called Tiger Sauce...try it...it works wonders with with the shrimp. During our meal, one of the staff roamed around the restaurant asking how everyone was, how their meal was, and what they've been up to in Maui. The atmosphere was very relaxed with reggae island music playing in the background. The restaurant was also very clean. Highly recommended!

But the fries are awesome and causing me to sweat. Love them. Service was great and staff super friendly. Asked if we had been here before. I had grilled lemon pepper Mahi-Mahi on bed rice with there signature slaw. Slaw has some heat, but the coconut milk dressing was delicious. Better half had fish tacos. The mango salsa was wonderful. Server recommend to get all different flavors on each bite as owner hopes for your experience. Food well done.

It was easy to find and there was a lot of parking. There was also ample indoor and outdoor seating, that can accommodate large groups (there was a group of 11 and it didn't feel crowded).The fries were also fresh. The fish tacos had 17 spices (including mangos) and was also absolutely wonderful! The portions were fairly large, so my wife couldn't finish the tacos (I was more than happy to help her finish her portion).

We ordered three dishes and all three were excellent! We started with Coconut Prawns and spicy Ahi Poke. My wife loved the prawns and I devoured the Ahi quickly. Then we thought we were pretty full, but still wanted to taste the tacos so we went ahead and ordered the fish tacos. I didn't know fish tacos could be made so well! We left the restaurant fully satisfied with the meal and decided to visit again the same night.

Absolutely the best fish tacos anywhere! I thought I'd died and gone to heaven while devouring these creations. They included 2 kinds of fish (ono and mahi mahi), mangoes, cabbage, tomatoes, etc and a coconut milk sauce, all heaped on two slightly grilled soft tortillas. My wife and I ordered 2 each and were stuffed after also splitting a large "cup" of delicious fish chowder. These sumptuous tacos are rated number one in all the islands of Hawaii. They are the best tacos of any kind I've ever eaten in my nearly 70 years.

This is one of my favorite places in Maui. I never travel there without stopping in at Coconuts for the fish tacos. They are truly the best fish tacos I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. The atmosphere is authentic Maui style. Always a great place to eat. The Poke there is also very very good.

Nice looking spot and the staff was friendly. Ordered the seafood pasta, which was overwhelmingly disappointed. The Alfredo sauce which should be creamy was chunky and oily. There were 2 shrimp and the fish was so overcooked that I thought it was chicken. We also ordered the fish tacos, which as a whole, we're delicious. But that was mainly from all the things piled on top of the unseasoned chicken/fish. The slaw was great. The hot sauce gave it some nice spice, but it would have tasted the same without the fish. We also ordered coconut shrimp. I didn't have any, but my friends thought it was delicious.

Last day on Maui my boyfriend and I decided we should probably try fish and chips before we left back home. We stopped at Coconut's Fish Cafe for dinner before our flight and YUMMYYYY! I am so so so glad we did. It was so incredibly delicious, all of it. The fries, the fish, the different sauces they had to offer. The service was amazing and they were willing to explain the difference between the fish and they were open to giving recommendations. I really loved this place and highly recommend!

I had the fish and chips...the mahi was awesome. Ono probably would have been better if I didn't eat it last and it wasn't competing with the mahi. The wife had the fish tacos and loved them as well. Quick, fast, easy, and good

Just dropped in to coconuts for some fish tacos and grilled fish.The grilled fish plate was very good with the brown rice and island salad. The fish tacos had the potential of being great but the fish was over cooked. Not good! We would give coconuts another try. Lots of great reviews, was probably a one time thing.

Hw"The only way to eat this is with your hands" is what they told me when they delivered my two taco plate. It's definitely impossible to eat one of these things gracefully, as they have about 3x more toppings than what than what is reasonable. With that said, they are delicious! The slaw has a hint of wasabi flavor. All of the 17 ingredients work together to make a delicious fish taco.

Went there just to try the fish tacos. They were amazing. Fish seasoning was delicious. Over 10 ingredients. Be ready to get your hands covered with all these juices but dont leave anything on the plate lol.

Food is ok. I think for these prices, you can probably do better. Fish tacos are tasty but they are a bit overpriced. The coconut shrimp is great, check in on yelp for $2 off. The grilled fish plate is fresh and good, just nothing too special. Recommend if you want a no frills, solid meal.

Really great tasting food although it is pretty pricey. I had delicious mahi burger with fries for $19. Their popular and delicious fish tacos start at $13. Definitely worth the price, even if only once, you gotta come eat here.
