REVIEWS OF The Varsity IN Georgia

Robert Markham

I love the Varsity but this location is not the same. The waits are long, they never open more than one register and it's always understaffed. Today I waited 30 minutes for a #2 and they ran out of Pimento cheese. The frys and rings were sitting on the counter cold the hole time I waited for my order. Very disappointing experience from one of my favorite restaurants, sadly it happens a lot at this location.

A probably (not as good) location of an Atlanta favorite. Atmosphere: The stacks of chili cans and pictures of an old location helped make it a more memorable first visit. Food: Look, I could see myself eating this as a college student again. The greasy burger, hot dog, and onion rings hit the spot. However, the chili is what really make this something different. It has a touch of heat that makes this special. Despite this, my college days of eating more greasy foods are over—so the grease was a bit too much. The orange drink was refreshing and reminded me of a slightly different flavored Orange Crush. Presentation: As an airport location, the box helped make it portable enough to tote to my gate. It also is just kinda neat. Service: The cashier took my order with a smile, which is something considering I ate here so late. For next time: I hope to visit one of the freestanding locations in the future.

Randy Harrell

My son's Father in Law took my son and me here after we had visited the College Football Hall of Fame. A great finish. I now try to get to their airport location anytime I fly through Atlanta. Thanks Bill!

This is a huge drive-in restaurant near Georgia Tech. They have a lot of parking. They have a traditional eat-in-your-car section, but the main part is a huge burger joint with enormous capacity to feed large numbers of customers. The food was a delight to the unsophisticated palette, and well presented in a drive-in motif. All the food was tasty, but I doubt any of it was healthy. If you want to eat healthy, go find a salad bar somewhere. This place is all about taste and ambiance. They are highly staffed. The service was efficient and helpful. I understand that this is an icon in the Atlanta area and I am glad it seems to be prospering.

Carlos

Nice and friendly staff

Sweetazz_ Shuga

It wasn't bad, nor was it great! Fries & Onion Rings AMAZING! I was able to taste the Orange Frosty it was refreshing!

Ben Kelley

Great place to stop when traveling through Atlanta.

Service not the best...food good

Man, as much as I wanted to believe that these reviews were all biased, I can’t disagree with them: this place is just not worth coming. Sure the price is inflated because it’s in an airport, but I would think that they would want to keep the same quality as their main location. I have not been to any other location though, so I can’t say it would be any better but reviews lead me to believe so. Where to start...the hot dogs. 2 small, cold hotdogs on a bun, covered in a layer of solid “chili” that might have been lukewarm at best if I was to be honest. The cheese on top was completely solidified as well. Flavor wise, it was OK. Nothing outstanding, nothing too disappointing. The real disappointment came with the fries. The workers in the back were making new fries, and when I got them, I knew they were off. Pale white in color, soggy and drooping slightly. When I bit in, I confirmed my initial thoughts: these fries were still slightly frozen and cold! It was a gross, gluey mess of fries. And to top it off, they weren’t seasoned at all! I appreciate the thought of them trying to control my sodium intake, but still, even a LITTLE salt would help. How you can serve frozen fries out of the fryer amazes me. They weren’t even that busy or pressed to churn out orders... Also note that I didn’t eat until I got to my gate, so after taking the tram and walking, I didn’t have time to go back and get better fries or a refund. The one slightly redeeming factor in this equation were their onion rings. Those were crispy, nicely seasoned, and the onions were cooked just enough so that they weren’t slimy but still had a nice crunch without being too strong of a flavor. Also side note, can you guys redo your boxes? I get that they are made to fold easily for your manufacturing and shipping costs, but it makes it impossible to carry a box and roll a suitcase without feeling like you’re going to push your fingers through the bottom of the collapsible box and have your overpriced mediocre meal spill out. I really hope I can try the famous, original location of the Varsity so that I can give a real review from a place many people hold in high regards.

Clifton Harper

Over priced? It's the airport! No specials. Just regular high prices. Whadaya have, whadaya have.....

Richard Womack

Pitiful I'm visiting home from Denver and was excited to see a Varsity. Took 15 minutes to get 2 dogs..... only 2 employees working at lunch....No smiles.... I have been in the restaurant industry for 35 years. One my greatest disappointments...... SAD

D. Exford Franklin

Very over rated

E Mac

Best chili cheese dogs and onion rings in the whole wide world...and their plain chocolate ( chocolate milk) with the shaved ice...omgahhhh. So good. An Atlanta staple, for sure.

John Hanou

Screwed up my order. Chili dog was very soggy.

Kevin Bullard

Airport location slow and way overpriced

Jared Jones

Airport dining is usually hit it miss but this place somehow manages to still capture the madness of the anxiety inducing ordering system at the downtown location in a small airport storefront. Also clutch for grabbing chili on the way home since you're through security already. Oh and the food is solid too.

paul martin

knew I was in trouble after I ordered and saw them throwing frozen hamburgers on the grill. Chili dogs were okay the onions were old and limp, the french fries were cold and they were out of chocolate shakes. I hope the one across from Georgia Tech hasn't changed.

Alan Skolweck

Plenty of parking. Nice views. Quick service. Food is what drops the score. Low quality beef and small size. Unseasoned, greasy fries are not worth the price, unless you are more interested in the experience. Would recommend the Wendy's 4 for $4 instead.

Matt S

Employee came out and was moving all the trash into the bottles and cans recycling container... just didn't care that people are trying to recycle. This is why recycling efforts are being terminated. Sad

Pavel Reshetnik

Good place to have a breakfast. Line was smaller than to nearby Chick-fil-A :)

Christopher Tyler

Hot dogs and onion rings that can't be beat. This downtown Atlanta staple has been around for years. There is plenty of parking and dining space, even though it is located downtown. Drive up spots are more limited and usually full. Ordering is a little messy, but just look for the shortest line or open register.

Rogers RailRoad Productions

Got my food fast for it to be inside an airport

Berry Moore

Classic. Nice and cool inside. Chaos at the front coounter yet quick as always. One thing ill say this. Why not improve your restrooms? Not appealing at all. Makes your establishment look cheap

Brandy Dykes

Some of the best food around. We always make a stop here when we are coming thru. Friendly people that love their job.

D Z

Great food as always!

Brian Sparks

Incredibly slow and disorganized. Employees not enthused to be working there at all. But it's the arsity, so I still come back when flying through here.

Mark Berry

Not sure what the fuss is all about

Alex z

The food was good regardless of how my picture looks, choose onion rings over fries any day. Got the burger and hotdog with chili on it. Its stereotypical airport food for sure. But if you go into the city for the REAL variety you will have a better experience for sure. I love this place once a year when I visit and I recommend it over any other fast food place because ya cant get it anywhere else.

Marcus Moore

Slow but good food

Caleb Smith

Yuck, what a grease trap! Would not recommend. There is a downtown location that is iconic as the world's first drive in. It's worth a 1-time visit, but the food is disgusting at best. On par with places like McDonalds. Way better places to go for healthier options if you care about your health.

Nate Lee

The flavor is always great. But not so much for the onion rings.

Mike Rollins

Whatta ya have! This is always a good place to get something to eat!

Cookie Lamb

When traveling through Atlanta the Varsity is a must stop. The Coney dogs are great. The atmosphere is perfect for such a meal. The orange frost drink is my favorite. Sorry I don't remember it's proper name.

Robert Casey

It's The Varsity. It's a scaled down version of the original, but they have your Varsity favorites (onion rings and frosted orange for me). There are 2 reasons I did not give it 5 starts. There first is the lack of seating. There are just a few seats between The Varsity. And the Chick-fil-A next door. The other is that the scaled down menu does not include the basic hamburgers that you can get at the North Avenue location.

Emily Stout

Not too bad for a fast food restaurant! Such a fun place to go with your family in the Atlanta area if you're looking for something fast, cheap and close to downtown. Don't be expecting to find anything super healthy though because you won't be able to. The atmosphere is a little different than your typical fast food restaurant, minus the gross plastic booths of course. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place!

Robert Burek

The downtown Atlanta landmark's food is virtually the same here, but without some of the classic old time atmosphere and view of the downtown. Try the frosted orange or chocolate shake. The hot dogs with or without the toppings are the best main course item. Fries and onion rings are good, but greasy. A good place to stop before leaving the USA.

Charlie Haithcox

A prime example of keep it simple and good! My first trip to The Varsity and loved it. You can sit and check out surrounding Atlanta and have good, All American fare. Be advised, there's no tofu!

Ernie Blanks

Awesome chili dogs an fries plus onion rings

Jack Green

Best burgers n hot dogs n onion rings

Mari Schwartzwalder

The onion rings are the best I've ever had. I really like that they have a separate area for handicapped persons as I am going through chemotherapy and have 3 children so I need a more secluded seating area. Its often a struggle to pick a place to eat while we are out that can accommodate that. My daughter is a picky eater and she finished everything she got! My kids had chili dogs with fries, my husband had a chili/slaw dog and burger with onion rings and orange freeze and I had a bacon burger with fries. Everything was great!!! We also had friends from Florida visiting on their way to New York and THIS was the spot we wanted them to know represents Atlanta and they LOVED IT! We drove from Flowery Branch to go to this specific location. My husband also got a trucker hat while we were there. Everyone of the employees we encountered were super helpful and happy to assist us as well. We will continue to come to this location and we will bring our refillable mugs too :)

Jim Paterick

The best hotdogs you can get.

Manny Parhar

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE...... Greasy burnt food..... BAD service.....never again...

Rebekah Mac Lean

Terrible food. Chili was old and dry. Fries soggy, over salted and greasy! Gross. Avoid this place. This is what $10+ gets you.

Claudette Holden

Some times greasy

Andrew Reath

Great place for food allergies! I was recently in Atlanta for the first time and had to check out The Varsity. I have a nut allergy and was pleased to find they have suggested menu items on their website. They were also courteous when I double checked in person. Great experience and probably the best onion rings I ever had!

James Runk

The best chili slaw dogs!

Ken Asano

Oversalted hockey puck dried out burger patties and oversalted fries. Quite possibly the worst burger I have ever eaten. Fries could have been good if they weren't oversalted.

Crystal Porter

It's was good

Kristen Baisley

Always enjoy the fast service and comfort food of the Varsity!

Sid Danave

I would give details about the food, but I didn’t get to taste it. You may ask why, but I was there 15minutes before their closing time, and they refused to serve me. The staff was super unfriendly, and as I walked away, I was stared down. I do not recommend relying on this restaurant, if you are in a rush to make your flight.

EyeoftheValley

Food and service were great. Unfortunately when I went to do my credit card expense report they charged me twice. Now working to get this resolved. What a pain. This really should never happen.

Stephanie Green

A large cup of just ice, you want someone to pay $2.47 for? Just highway robbery! The whole sleeve of large cups barely cost you $5.00 which holds about 50 large cups, and you want a customer to pay $2.47. Piss poor service for that, especially when your food taste disgusting

Andrew Hillman

It's The Varsity good and greasy the way it should be! If you are short on time and can't take the train to downtown then this is a good option.

Trey Bickham

For a fast food chili dog and chili cheeseburger, it was okay. Overpriced but okay. The fries tasted like they were fried in old, burnt grease. The orange slurpie was great, though!

Jonathan Smith

One-star for THIS LOCATION ONLY. I love Varsity. This ain't the Varsity. My chili cheeseburgers with slaw came out as plain burgers, which I didn't discover until...you guessed it...after takeoff. Talk about disappointment. Slow service. Indifferent staff. Bad versions of the iconic Varsity food. You bring shame upon the Varsity name.

Angelica B

Absolutely horrible customer service. They are slow and flat out rude. When i ordered the girl behind the counter acted like I was bothering her so much and was rolling her eyes while I spoke. I entered my card for the chip and she literally yelled loudly three times for me to swipe my card. The food we received was cold and disgusting. Don’t waste your time or money.

Wan ker

FAST FOOD JOINT which has mass appeal.

Glenn Sargent

Food is greasy and not worth the hype. If your not from Atlanta and have heard of the Varsity. I suggest skipping it. There are plenty of better, famous restraunts around.

Bill Middleton

An Atlanta institution! Fast food like none other and the world's number one outlet for Coca-Cola fountain. You must order onion rings (delightfully greasy!) and an "FO" which is the one-of-a-kind frozen orange/milk/drink/dessert aka Frosted Orange

Matt Davies

Unexpected but deserving of the rating. Food was boss. Fast. Like a bunch of lines to take orders. Awesome college town joint. Good job everyone.

Jack Graves Jr

Good service. Fast food. Variety is catered to American fast food. Not much on the healthy diet side. Good view of Atlanta area. Easy parking.

Katelyn King

I understand that the point of The Varsity is the experience, but it leaves much to be desired. Waited at least 15 minutes for an attendant to take our order and then another 15 for the food to arrive. The burgers are quite small and nothing special. Chicken salad sandwich was just fine. Chicken tenders are very salty. Fries were so laden with grease that they just lumped together in one large mound. The frosted orange was great though. Am I glad we can say we've been to the Varsity? Sure. Will I willingly return? Nope.

Beau Kebodeaux

Mushed hamburger meat without sauce or spices is not "chili".

Catharina Martin

Was very disappointed. Food not great...chili tasted like out of a can. Hot dogs, burgers, fries very sad. Not a very clean space. Wont go back.

Robyn Finley

Gross stereotypical airport food. My fries were SO cold. The staff was nice but unprofessional. The service was slow. I would suggest Five guys for a burger which is located down the same concourse, on the right. I would avoid, if you are at all selective about the food you consume. It wasn't the worst place, but disappointing for sure. I actually like the store in town... Airport, not so much.

Jan Robinson

Delicious cheeseburger, fries, and coke! Only thing that made it better was the hot apple pie for dessert. The prices were extremely reasonable. Our server was nice and friendly. Enjoyed our meal!

Taylor Adcox

Flew out of ATL yesterday. Had a long day. Wanted milkshake. Stood in line for 15 minutes for said milkshake. Told the milkshake machine was down. Am sad.

Tony Evans

Always good food

Madison Sinkfield

It is awesome!! The food is amazing.

Gregg Schuder

This airport location is not the best though I always stop. I grew up on this food. No chocolate milk, "PC," to drink with my burgers. Nice service, but slow kitchen. Nothing like North Ave., downtown.

Vicki Spencer

Good food. Not to bad prices for the airport.

Pamela Seaton

Good food, but too expensive bc it's in the airport.

Jim Poteete

Great food.

Poptographix

There is NO PLACE like this. It's iconic. The food is amazing and cheap and you get to eat under the Atlanta skyline. The largest diner in America did not disappoint.

Luke White

The food here is amazing and the staff are friendly. The place is a bit crowded though. The views of Atlanta are amazing. I loved this restaurant and will definitely come back next time I have the chance to

Eric Jubeck

Best value in terminal F!

Paul Cornwell

Chili dogs are great!

Bob Durante

Great breakfast great prices and tasty

Chris Hampton

If you're in Athens Georgia or Atlanta it's great greasy onion rings that I love kind of like a greasy spoon on steroids

Jermaine Jones

Boooooooo flavorless food

Howard Kiesling

If you like very greasy food, have at it.

Brie Fluharty

I kept hearing great things, so while visiting Atlanta with my boyfriend, I checked it out. The food was great! The staff we're all very sweet. My only complaint would be proffesionalsim. I worked with Chick-fil-A for about 7 years and something we all had to learn quickly was that there is a time and place for different kinds of behavior.

GSMOOTH404

There's just no way to replace or recreate the historical nostalgic atmosphere here! You have to go and feel it in person! Did I mention that the food & customer service is so awesome!?

Nancy Steadmon

The onion rings are the bomb. So glad they have showed up in the Atlanta airport.

Michael Hall

When they say what-u-have. The answer is a horrible experience! It was terrible. I received the worst customer service ever from the manager on duty. An African-American female and her young associate. They were also unnecessarily slow. I'll give my business to tje Chic-Fila next to them.

fabian cervantes

The chillie was bland but not bad place to eat

constance robinson

Not what I thought it was.

robert beavers

Awesome as i have always heard it was! The food is great and the lines though long moved very quickly. For the speed of the service they have managed a good balance between customer experience and exceptional time management! If you are ever passing by it is well worth the crowd!

Joseph Gleason

Disrespectful staff are an affront to southern hospitality. They don't even look at you when they speak. My food looked as though it was thrown in the box rather than placed and shoved in my face as though I had a second to grab it before it was dropped to the floor.

Siju Kurian John

Good food at affordable rate. Appreciate the good behavior of staff. They have spacious place for having food. They serve hotdog, Burger and ice-cream.

Gabe de la Paz

The chili dog comes with mustard as a default. What the actual eff.

Henry Everhart- Martinez

Good memories of living in Atlanta.

Brittany Jordan

The fried sweet potato pie, orange shake, and onion rings were all good. The rest was just kinda okay. It was fun for a new experience but I'd probably not come again.

Charles Ward

Love those chilli dogs

Jeff Martin

One of my favorite stops in the ATL airport

Juliana Marie Edge Stewart

My 7 year old says it's "100% good". The staff is friendly and the orange frosted shakes are dreamy. It feels historical and iconic. Love taking the kiddo here.

JP Victory

Who at varsity management starts serving lunch and stops breakfast at 10am? 10am?? Are you kidding me? 20 people lined up at the Starbucks and customers walking away from varsity because of that. Disappointing.

Paul Thomas

Good hotdogs and peach pie! Really like the chili!

Sherry Fralic

An interesting walk back in time. Food was okay. Orange frost was yummy.

Toney Privatte

Fast, friendly service. Good food.

David M

This place is a local favorite and it shows when you walk in! The food was good but not the greatest, but our review is about the experience. The setting of this place definitely shows that they are prepared to process a large amount of people in the quickest time possible. We would definitely return and try the ice cream portion of the establishment. .

Joey Gibson

I absolutely love The Varsity. It try to each lunch here every time I am in Atlanta. It is a super fun environment. The food is good and takes you back to years gone by. The varsity orange drink is probably my favorite. The onion rings always have excellent flavor. I personally love the chili dogs. Don't be afraid of the crowds when you walk in. The lines move very fast!!!

Trae Moore

Stopped at the Terminal C location in the ATL airport. Chili dogs were good as always. Fries were half cooked and they ran out of ice. Never seen this happen at any other Varsity location. Totally ironic this Varsity is located next door to a Chick-fil-a. Comparing the efficiency of how well Chick-fil-a delivers orders to their customers vs this Varsity location is a night and day difference. I don’t think I’ll be back to the Varsity in Terminal C and I’m pretty sure the staff there doesn't care whether I come back.

John K

This place is definitely better than you were in the mail fast food joint. Service was solid at the drive through parking lot. I gave it four stars because I thought that the chili was a little bit dry. The burgers and dogs are great. The onion rings spot on definitely six stars for the onion rings. Had the frosted orange which was also pretty solid. I look forward to coming again

Doug Robertson

Decent place to grab a hot dog at airport prices

Blaze West

Great food. Especially for airport fast food.

Claire T

Mediocre food. Have had better burgers and fries. It is an area staple for some. But my palate is not sure why.

James Ackerman

We gave them another chance since we got some food at one near our hotel, and it was really not good. The original's food, service, and cleanliness leaves much to be desired. I think they are surviving off of novelty and nostalgia. The only thing that was good was their orange shake. Otherwise, you can get much better food elsewhere for a similar price, and with better service.

Angela Brown

Greasy but ok lol

Jann Clanton

The lines were super long but they moved fast and the food was worth the wait

G Baby

Burger was super small, fries were cold, and after I asked them if they sold beef hot dogs they gave me pork anyway. Over charged me and took the remaining balance on my card. If I did have a connecting flight that left in 10 minutes literally. I would of act a fool in Atlanta’s airport

Jasen

The burger I ordered (Big V Bacon Cheeseburger, without bacon) was dry but tasted good, sadly the fried were too crispy for my taste and they were out of chocolate milkshakes. The prices are a little bit high though.

Jonathan R

The varsity will always be a wonderful place to go to. it's a little bit of a drive for us but always worth the time and effort to get there. It's a nice getaway after having to fight for your life to survive the watermelon 500 also known as i-75. But once you're in you can be treated to great chili dogs or a good hamburger or their wonderfully famous orange drink. It's got a nice 50's throwback feel to it and there's even an ice cream / malt shop inside. It's usually busy, so come prepared, but the service is pretty fast and the food's always good.

Scott Schmus

Good dogs and excellent fries. Perfect airport food!

Rose Valenti

Best hot dogs, hamburgers and fries. It's been there since I was a kid.

Carol Ann

The Varsity is an experience in and of itself, even if (like me) you're not an actual student or alumni. My significant other is a graduate of Georgia Tech and we happened to be in Atlanta for a wedding. We were staying at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center - just a short walk from The Varsity - and almost immediately after checking in everyone insisted we head on down for the entire Varsity experience. The place was packed but the lines moved quickly. I tried a few items from the menu but the onion rings were a definite favorite! I am pretty sure every trip we make to Atlanta from now on will require a stop at The Varsity just so I can have the onion rings. Trust me, if they packaged them frozen and made them available in my grocery store I would be stocking up. The rest of the food I tried (burgers, fries, pies, etc.) were decent and of course the Frosted Orange is a must-try for everyone. This isn't fancy and it's certainly not a gourmet experience but this place is a local institution and worth at least one visit.

Ben Smith

For a fast food place, it was really good! It was easy to get to and plenty of parking. After we received our food, there were plenty of seats. Most important, the food was so delicious!! Our family had the chicken nuggets, chili cheese dog, cheeseburger, chili cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and shakes and every single item was so tasty and not too oily from the deep frying. The only issue was it was pretty expensive, but overall a very good place!

Hayes Hora

The Varsity is one of my favorite places for a good hot dog! Slaw dogs and chili dogs are remarkable here. The real varsity is definitely better than the airport version, but if you're out of town and you want something that's local and unique, this is definitely worth a stop.

Marion Irick

Good, not great.

jjmashford

Generally, the food is good. I have never been a fan of the Varsity fries. They have a limited shelf life. The chicken tenders are great. I prefer them to Chik-Filet.

Josh Winkler

Good burgers and hot dogs. The Frosty Orange drink is a must have. Tastes like a creamsicle mixed with awesomeness!

Rick Tidwell Sr

I grew up in Atlanta, I LOVE THE VARSITY so much that I continue to hope the Varsity at the ATL airport will be good. It is not even close to the Varsity downtown in taste, quality, or service. Very sad - I always hope for better, but as someone else said, staff acts as though you are interrupting their day. I know the lingo and they very rarely get my order correct ... It really gives the REAL Varsity a bad name for traveler's who think this is what the Varsity is like .

Gary Berg

This is th e place for breakfast. Good Food. Good Coffee. Reasonsble prices. Whoopee.

Yvonne Jurasin

Horrible wet soggy fries and cold chilli dogs service was terrible. NO STARS!!!!

Ramonita Santiago

Biscuit w egg and bacon was delicious w coffee . Excellent price

Natalie Winkler

Only wanted fresh French fries and they failed miserably. I asked if the fries on the counter were fresh and the woman said yes and to take those even though they were making a fresh batch right then. They were literally cold and one was still frozen. She covered the fries with a paper so I couldn’t see them before she handed them to me and walked away.

Dan Jones

Signs all over they accept Chase Pay but staff refused to scan app QR code. Not sure how they can get away with advertising they accept it and then refusing. Either there is false advertising going on or horrible training if the staff. Shake I bought was ok but too thick and the puny straw was useless to ‘drink’ it. Half an hour later I finally went elsewhere and got a spoon.

Louis Barham

always like a Varsity Hot Dog

bigevil

Best place to eat in Atlanta in my opinion. Great food. Good prices. Wonderful atmosphere

Ant Pruitt

One of my favorite places in the airport. I love the hotdog buns. Be prepared for lines

Lynne Martin

This was my 1st visit to any Varsity restaurant. The entire visit was a pleasant change from the usual fast food chains. The food was fast AND fresh. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The burger was a little smaller than I anticipated but it was real meat and man it was good! The fried peach pie was also good. Next time I'm in the area I'll try the fries or onion rings.

Charles Gibbins

Dirty and employees with bad attitudes. Hire someone who cares and look at little less annoyed when you order. It's really a bad first impression of Atlanta.

Fritz Meyne Jr.

Please come to Jacksonville Beach FL.

Zoner84mh

It is Atlanta airport, but was slow and got the order wrong. No very attentive.

Justin Sherrod

Over priced and under whelming.

Crystal Vick

Good service at airport location!

Spencer Wilcox

Delicious glorified bacon cheeseburger. I highly recommend this place.

MissFirstSoldier

This place is great!! The staff are extremely friendly! Prices are pretty good, food is great!

Yo Angie

Varsity at ATL is the best! Do yourself a favor, make a pit stop at Gate C and get yourself some varsity hot dogs. Don't forget to get some extra fried Peach pies to bring home to your family. They will love you for it.

Ryan Tiller

No sence of urgency what so ever, i order a burger and onion rings, My mom ordered two chilli dogs and fries, waited 20 minutes and asked the cashier about it, she looked at the receipt and said just a minute, 5 minutes later, nothing asked her again and she called another employee up, she handed me my food, and had to issue my mom a refund because they didn't even have her food, had to scarf food down to make flight. Never again.

Sandra Stone

GREAT PLACE

T. Nicole Webb

As an Atlanta native, The Varsity is an experience as well as an awesome look into the past of fast food! The location at the airport lacks the true experience but the menu is on point! I love the frosted orange drink and the onion rings are the best, good and crispy and greasy! The next best thing on the menu are the chili cheese dogs, which are a must to complete the ensemble! Highly recommend this greasy classic fast food joint! What'll'ya have?

John Miller

Slow service, cold and under cooked food. They can't even get the orange shake right here, its a block of ice with some flavor. Calling the inspectors to check the place out.

George Mercer

Traditional football game foods

Daniel Lee

Try the slaw dog and get the chili dog biscuit and get ready your tums

Dwayne Johnson

I really want to give this place 5 stars... but it is definitely a 4Plus!!!!! I had a Chilli-Slaw dog with some AMAZING onion rings. To top it off, washed it all down with a very delicious Frosted Orange Shake. The service isn’t the greatest. So if you are looking for pleasantries, this is not the place. Food is not cooked to order. So if you are looking for piping hot food, not for you!!!! But it’s a true fast diner atmosphere and I think you owe it to yourself to stop in!!!!

Kayla Rose

We stopped here late one evening after hearing many other people say it's a must while we're in town. I'm glad we did. Lots of parking, quick friendly service. The hot dogs were the best we've had anywhere. I was expecting a Sonic type of experience but this was far from it. We ate at the car but there is plenty of indoor seating as well. The gentleman who walked up to take our order was friendly and informative. We will return here on future trips to or through Atlanta.

Albert Barthe'

It's the Varsity. What more can one say. Its truly an experience if you are a visitor, and a regular in rotation if you live here. The trick is to try and go when your favorite server is working. You can get "lost", and seemingly wait for a while to get your order taken. Most servers are nice and genuine. Sometimes you need to be assertive to get service. The food is great, and you don't have to follow the printed menus outside. You can customize your order. If you are new, you have to try the onion rings and frosted orange. By all means, go here and eat good. Don't leave Atlanta and miss out. Enjoy!!

Caitlin Clarke

The Varsity was... alright. I probably just hyped myself up and expected too much going in. The hotdog and french fries I had were by no means bad. It was a good meal. I was just underwhelmed. The staff was actually nice, and I wasn't yelled at or pushed along like everyone told me I would be. So I guess I kind of missed that part of the experience. Like I said, though, it was good food at a reasonable price. I wouldn't discourage you from going. Maybe it was just an off day.

In another dimension, they have the BEST curries. In this one, the have decent burgers and hotdogs. Sadly, because "airport" they have crazy prices. But, so does every place in the airport; so, level playing field, there.

James Gnann

If you have a hankering for breakfast biscuits, consider the chili dog, egg and cheese biscuit. Much tastier than you might think. Especially great after a night out on the town

Iblame Summers

an ATL institution & consider yourself lucky it's at the World's Busiest Airport. RIP Lewis Grizzard.

Andre A Hamilton

I enjoyed the chili dogs and onion rings. Unfortunately the rings were a bit salty but flavorful and the signature Orange drink machine was down.

Dave Ho

airport service was tired. orders sat for a while. 3 of 3 orders after me were also wrong.

Tom H

Same as Austin. Terrible cold burgers and limp onion rings. The cheese was not even melted

Camryn M

Food was lackluster, our fries were cold and a peach pie we were given had practically no filling in it because it all leaked out during frying. Employees seemed like we were interrupting their day by ordering and gave us a side of attitude with our meals. We wanted to enjoy a signature Varsity meal while stopping in Atlanta but next time we'll visit chick fil a.

michelle b

Basic fast food. Not much variety. Ok.

shelly sanders

You gotta have one!

J McD

I waited forever for my food. Chili dogs with fries. This is what they do, how can it take so long? 5 people in front of me got their food. A very poorly run operation. Eat somewhere else.

K. J. T.

Really good food.... Really bad service with really bad attitudes. I was embarrassed for the guests ordering food. The young kids taking orders were just horrible, rude and unprofessional. They got my order wrong but the food was still good. This place needs some management

Jimmy Allen

The best I've had yet. Great people watching! Downtown Atlanta on a full moon Saturday night in warm weather.

W Patterson

Food was lukewarm, if that. She kept the line going, proficient.

Dusty Knight

Classic gameday fare in a wonderfully historic setting. I stop in occasionally during the week, and it's still delicious. Well built to handle large crowds, and a timeless classic stop for American fare.

Stacey Hedrick

Great service

carlton hansen

was there @ 8am today , cashier very pleasant & took our order very quickly, however 2 other staff people were yelling & arguing with each other oblivious to the long line of customers, then it took 25 minutes to get our order, not woth the wait!Dont go there unless you have ample time to wait or you WILL miss your flight

Wanda Whitt

This isn’t just a restaurant but an experience, and the hot dogs are the best around

MJ CHIODO

Incredibly disgusting food, the places nasty, and the staff is a joke

Tiffany Kane

It's just okay. This place is a "once and done" my husband and I both agree on that. We went because we were new to the area and it's so talked about. The food is nothing special. It's not bad... it's just not fantastic. If we were in the area and wanted a burger... we might stop in... but we wouldn't seek it out.

Ahmed Shehab

If I can give this location a half star I would definitely do. Very bad service and terrible food.

Melanie Tran

Had to try this place since it is an Atlanta staple, but it’s not anything special. My friend and I shared a 2 chili dog combo since we thought the portions were huge, but the hot dogs are fairly small...makes for a good snack. Everything is super greasy, even their peach pies but it’s worth trying when in the ATL. Just avoid the ridiculously expensive fruit cups.

Jahday Garrett

I've been here didn't even know it

Tipu Sirohi

Terrible food. So oily ... so much salt in some and not at all in others

Tres Murpht

Hey it's an old establishment that has been there since I was a child. Good Olde fashion American favorites . Go and enjoy a hotdog or burger with a side order of fries.

Tauquia Ponder

It's really a very big fast-food diner. I had the Chicken Salad Sandwich, which was just "okay". They serve Burgers, Hotdogs, Slaw Dogs, Chili Dogs, Onion Rings, Fries, etc. I don't eat beef or pork, so the alternatives of Chicken Nuggets, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Salad Sandwich and the like we're my options. The Onion Rings are decent, but I couldn't really eat too many of them. I tasted the fries, which were pretty good but just needed salting. Overall, it was a cool place to dine, as a tourist.

Rochelle Gilmer

Great food

Will Graham

First time eating here during a layover at ATL. The burgers and hot dogs are delicious but the onion rings are amazing! .

Roscoe Green

It's not for me, great atmosphere and people, I'm trying to eat healthier

Austin S. Lin

Thoroughly & painstakingly unremarkable. Service was friendly but the overly, way past fried fried onion rings and fist crushed chili dogs weren't worth the short-staffed induced delay. For a better experience hit up the OG location in Midtown Atlanta next time instead.

Kevin Fitzgerald

Had to eat with one hand because I was afraid to use the hand that touched the ketchup packets. Mentioned this to the person working the counter and she showed me the box of ketchup packets were all sticky and disgusting. I have no idea why they wouldn’t just clean the packets and put them in a different container. The bun on one of my burgers was also stale. This was a zero star dining experience.

Charita Humphrey

When I want a taste from my childhood I will come here and park in the drive in and smile .... The Varsity is Atlanta!

Scott Dunn

Great Coney dogs

Ms. AA

Delicious! It's been over 25+years since I tasted first tried Varsity!

Carl Gratzer

The fries and onion rings were delicious. Chili hot dogs were really small and not much chili on them but they were good and of course overpriced in the airport Service was excellent

Jim Kladifko

Slow service, not a smile, a bunch of grumpy employees. Burger was tastey, but not worth the wait

Monica Morris

Love the service

Julie Bischoff

Great onion ringd

Magnus Paulsson

Ok fast food burgers, not more. It is surrounded by a huge parking lot and situated just next to the highway. Not the most idyllic of places. I liked the frosted orange though!

Mr Phillips

Food sucks but its nostalgic. I give it 4 stars because the food is just how I expect it to be every time. It would be different if i expected something really satisfying but everyone knows better than that. This is the mf varsity. Lots of characters and street people to look at too. Atlanta has really reinvented itself as the Homeless mecca of the western hemisphere.

Sara Schultz

If you love greasy spoons this is a must stop in Atlanta! One of the best greasy spoons of fast food. The orange drank is amazing especially frozen!! The have hot dogs and hamburgers and few other items. Chili or slaw to top the dogs if that's your sort of thing. Also the onion rings are off the charts!!

Ben DiMiero

This place might have provided me the worse meal of my life. I'm literally going to remember for years how terrible the food was here. Do yourself a favor and going to McDonalds or Burger King.

Michael Prather

It's the Varsity! It's in Terminal C, but worth the detour if you have time!

Joseph Donnelly

The food was ok, not great. I think this place is not worth the hype. The onion rings were very good but I did not like the chili at all. Took a bite of my chili burger and couldn't finish it cause of how bad the chili tasted

King Cartier

Staple of the city YES, Way past its glory days though! This place needs to invest in its image, it has yet to remodel or even clean up its prehistoric eyesore look and I've been in Atlanta almost 15 years. The last time I was here it was disgusting. Unkempt tables in more detail a deep cleaning and pest control would be the minimum suggestion, fresh paint, bleach pressure was lots, and God only knows what else wouldn't help this place. I can't speak on food in this location because when I tried to eat here roaches were openly present on several different occasions, yet they stay pretty busy.

Greg Bingham

Greasy, confused help. They only get business from the overflow of other vendors.

Anne V.

Worth a trip to the international terminal while at ATL to eat at an Atlanta landmark. The combo meals are very large so I ordered a kids meal without a problem. Add a peach pie.

James Burnett

What a treat to find The Varsity in the Atlanta airport. It was a wonderful break from places like Logans and O'Charleys. Wish there was one in Nashville!

Teresa Denson

I love this food!!

Dong Ku Yu

Wish they had onion rings for lunch. I never knew varsity served biscuits for lunch

Mark Koehler

Intestinal discomfort can be minimized by only getting the Orange creamsicle

romans83839yes

This is a very popular place! We came after visiting the Atlanta History Museum and it was packed. We had a large group, as it was, and by the time all of our food was ready, it was cold. But I can't fault them for that. They were working as fast as they could. My children love this place. Their uncle brings them after Tech games.

Dr. Weston Zenner

1st time there. Actually really good food!

Steve Strubel

Great place to eat if you're going to be downtown. Plenty of parking and seating here. You shouldn't have any trouble placing your order because there's about 20 + registers in this place! Try it out!

Tallevette Mueller

The service was quick and the food was tasty.

Tyler Townsend

Way too greasy

Melanie Shelton

Worst food I have ever eaten (F gates location). I spent $25 to throw my food away and order somewhere else. Fries were cold and limp. Burger smelled funny and tasted terrible. Chili dog was ok. Girl at register messed up my order and then argued with me. Money down the drain. Will never eat here again.

Tim Gill

Not horrible, but not NY or Chicago
