You will see the opinions of real people who used the products of Smith\'s Olde Bar (Restaurant) near to the state of Georgia.
At the present this business receives a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and the score has been based on 1130 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is basically the best one, and it is founded on a high number of opinions, so we can say that the assessment is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to give their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Bar.
Great place to unwind! They also have pool tables bonus plus thumbs up
The band we saw was amazing, however the venue screwed up the VIP seating we paid extra for. We wouldn't have paid that much if we knew we were going to be made to feel like sardines in a can. Sell less VIP tables and make your VIPs feel important!
Fun dive bar for those in their mid-20’s. Lots of pool tables and darts. Seems crowded even though it’s pretty large inside. Good place to listen to late-night music on Friday’s. Check their Facebook page to see about their Late Night Shows they play upstairs starting at 1:00 am.
I rank it highly because of the concert it was a great setting not to crowded the bands were awesome and the view was great. Negative side we waited over an hour for our food and it was wrong people who arrived after us got food before we did. Disappointed in the restaurant area. Overall I would go back just not to eat.
If you have never experienced this iconic Atlanta night club, you’re missing out! First the atmosphere is an awesome blend laid back neighborhood bar and a funky old rock n roll nightclub. They have two stages where performances take place. One of which often has “early” shows. Which is really nice if your no longer interested in drinking until the wee hours of the night. The place is full of great photos and posters from all the great bands that have performed there, and the list is impressive! The main stage room is a very intimate setting to see a band. It’s small compared to so many other music venues, but that’s one of the things that makes it great!
Every show I've ever caught here has been amazing.
Always a great time. Shout out the 1AM Secret show-best show in Atlanta.
Pretty good whiskey selection. Purposeful dive bar. Decent service. It's a dive bar....
Great, bar. Make use to check (online) the dates when they have live bands and open mic (comedy) night. You cant go wrong if you go those nights
A good spot to get a beer, grab a bite to eat and see local music.
Awesome venue for concerts.
It’s lit in there great crowd
Great place awesome bands
It was a bit dark for my liking..but the Wings were
Door says open at 5. The locked door proved that incorrect.
Excellent atmosphere and great food. If you are an Alabama fan this is the best place to watch the game hands down.
From Karaoke to live shows to trivia this place is amazing. I love the crowd and the build out ofbthis location. There are like 4 different locations in one. The sound is great as well and the drinks are strong and inexpensive. I recommend that everyone that visits Atlanta try it out.
Absolutely a Great place!!! Very clean and very nostalgic. Jena at the bar is magnificent!!!! My girls and I traveled from Knoxville to see "Rhett Price". We had not been there before. Jena made us feel welcome and the food and drinks were great and the concert was fabulous. Best ever!!!@!@! We would definitely go back there.
Stopped by for the open mic on Wednesday night (awesome!) and decided to treat myself to their Champ (half Bison) burger. PHENOMENAL! Everything was on point from the bread to the aioli. Black beans and Rice as a side dish option was great too, especially the beans that had bits of pork in it. 5/5 would come again
Great bar menu. Good service and good drinks.
Hit up the secret show on Saturdays, 1am. Great place. Fixture of Atlanta.
Many things going on here.
Great place for music and drink.
Nice wings!
Nice place, lots of areas, gaming, live music, good service and a big live music venue upstairs.
This is a cozy spot to have a drink, eat some food and watch a show. For bands, it's a very special venue to perform. The sound crew are top notch and do great work, whether you're an unknown local artist or a world-famous international act.
Lots of space and activities with quality bartenders. Music choice is top notch as well
One of the best venues I've ever been to. The room was great, and the staff really made us feel like a part of the family! We drove over 5 hours to be there and we were not disappointed!
Best music and drinks in town!
Great place to see a show!
Great place! Wonderful venue for music with rooms up and downstairs. Great restaurant/bar downstairs.
A good bar to see shows.
If you've been living in Atlanta and you haven't been here yet, it's time to rethink your whole lifestyle. Fantastic drinks and music... love me some rock n roll.
Super cool place pool tables dance floor and outside chill area....cool spot 2 get wasted
Cool bar, had a great time but the parking situation is not the best.
Wings are surprisingly good. Bartenders have personality. Great beer selection for local drafts.
This is one of those bars with dark atmospheres that if it's your first time, it wouldn't give you the impression of being the cleanest of bars. But the bartenders are nice and helpful. The music shows are great because it feels way more intimate than a CONCERT. You have the artist right in front of you and you can interact with him. That's great. One thing was that the same drink was more expensive in the 2nd floor where the show was than downstairs. Don't make sense to me.
The 1 am comedy show was great
Best place for food music and spirits
Awesome place for a concert had a great selection of beers. Amazing sound and lights . Just a really cool spot. Did not get any food maybe next time I'll eat there.
Good place for a casual night. The cried tends to be a little bit younger on Friday and Saturday nights (21-25). Full bar and they serve some bar food too. They usually have a DJ playing a mix of hip hop, poo, and dance hits. The back room had a live band some nights and a comedy show once a week. Good groups of 4 to 8 people who want to drink after a long week.
Great burgers, strong drinks, good size beer list. There's billiards and darts. Went there for trivia night and won ten bucks. Old with a lot of character.
Charming and old fashioned. Dive bar
Ebony is so funny. Staff in general is very family oriented. Great entertainment and drinks
This place is an awesomely beautiful maze. The upstairs stage had the best sound. You not only heard the music but you could feel through the floor. By far the best sound I have heard Strung Like A Horse have, and I have seen them 6 or 7 times in a different place each time. The staff was great, our food was prepared quickly, and our drinks were strong! The ranch is amazing btw. We look forward to coming back soon. My only objection is that some of the slats in the flooring inside and outside, both wood and brick, allowed my heels which were not extremely thin to drop down. I can only imagine what a trip hazard that could be, especially if someone had a few drinks in them. But that is the only thing I would change.
Great dive with pool tables too! Love that place!
Great place for music nice pool tables as long as you don't want chalk
A must stop at this amazing bar in Piedmont Heights!
Great dive bar for shooting pool and cheap beer.
Grass is Dead after Sweetwater was fanfreakintastic. Great bartenders.
Great atmosphere. I’ve done several of their Monday night open mics and eventually was offered a gig in the Atlanta room. Service can be pretty spotty but the food is always worth it. Drinks and bar staff on solid. I have yet to utilize their pool room but I always see plenty of people enjoying it when I visit.
If you are there for an Alabama game, expect to miss a big portion of the game trying to get a drink, or just skip the idea of getting a drink to the middle of the 2nd quarter. Don’t complain about this or Jenna(bartender/owner wanna be) will act like you have a problem. Funny, I never complained once at Hoyle’s all last season. I will be at Hudson Grille or Hoyle’s for the remainder of the season.
The bartender Alex is a rock star! She truly is one of the best bartenders in all of Atlanta! Will be back just to interact with her again and sit at her bar
Nice and divey, my kind of bar and live music venue
Unique spot. Divey pool and darts room next to a dining room, bar room, then upstairs holds concerts and private parties. The upstairs is excellent for both of those, downstairs is decent.
Cool bar with pool tables. Food is actually really good and reasonably priced.
Awesome iconic dive for entertainment in Atlanta...was able to catch some punk rock, house rock, soul hip hop and a stand up all in one night..bartenders are great and friendly
Always good my friends and I always come here to play pool and drink watch the games. One guest had gave my gay friend a nasty look because he was gay but this is a gay bar. Lol service always good here just need more workers/servers.
I was there for the !st time on Sunday. The crowd was great, but the girl at the bar, "Angie" seemed kind of ignorant and rude. Very seldom smiled and spoke harshly to the guests. To top it off, i gave her my bank card to hold for the tap. My bill was $30. I gave her $40 cash before I left. I find out later she still charged my card. Now i have to file a fraud charge at my bank.... Very unprofessional..
landmark fav in atl for live shows and chill classic bar with a eclectic variety of friendly patrons
Great local music venue, that has a bar. You've got the upstairs room where they play music a downstairs Listening Room for the smaller and more intimate shows. Then you got to downstairs bar that has room for a good crowd, then the porch in game room. Smith's Olde bar is definitely an icon, I suggest you come by and see a show
Great live music,dive bar!
Nice music and cool stuff!
I have been here twice. Once in 2005 and this past week (2018). In that time it's pretty much exactly the same and that's a good thing. Smith's has an eclectic mix with a vibrant atmosphere-you'll have plenty to see while you wait for your food or drink. Then, if you are lucky, you have tickets to go upstairs and enjoy a small music venue. I saw Allison Moorer (2005) and Kelly Willis (2018). The first case there was barely room to move but the sound was incredible! The second case there was plenty room to stand and Kelly's voice never changes. We also had dinner and craft beer before the show. Typical pub food but really tasty. The bartender (down and up) was awesome and the table service downstairs was really nice. If you like small music venues or pub grub and great craft beers, visit Smith's!
Great atmosphere and awesome wall decor. Great place to catch a show or just hang out...
I came here because it was close to my hotel, was open late and said it had live music. If I lived in Atlanta this would become my home bar. The service was great Friday and Saturday though it got really full during the SEC championship game. I was recommended the nachos. They were good, I think I would have enjoyed the chicken nachos better or the quesadillas. There multiple rooms to this bar with seating throughout. The bar has a lot of character, history and a great vibe. I ended closing the bar out at 3 am. Everyone was really nice and friendly. Great prices in everything. If I am ever in the area I WILL be stopping by. Highly recommend you check out this establishment and have yourself a great time.
Great music, friendly atmosphere, good food.
Asked for a shot of rum. I got a glass of rum with 5 small flies floating around. I politely asked for a new glass and shot. I received a new glass 3/4 filled with Canadian whiskey this time and only 1 small fly floating around. I gave up and sat both drinks on the bar hoping the bartender finished them off for me.
Really cool crew working there. Good vibes, good times (good prices.) I will be back.
Good pool tables
I would definitely recommend this bar! This bar is the soley Steelers bar on Sundays. Chicken wings are gorgeous. He is usually busy, so early arrival is recommended. Sense of immersion, but really nice crowd and great staff. Loved the neighborhood bar with an emphasis on live music. Not expensive bar by the standards of Atlanta.
Love these guys! Great prices great food and awesome customer service! Lulu and I live these guys!
Came here for an open mic night. I walked in and sat at the bar, ID in hand, waiting patiently for the bar tender to come over. She looked at me and walked past me to other customers as soon as they came up...3 times. At this point I looked at her until we made eye contact and I smiled. She slowly walked over and asked if she could help me. I asked for a drink and thanked her when she delivered it. Shortly after my friend walks in with her guitar and joins me at the bar. The bar tender looks at her and walks past her to help a man who walks up shortly after. Finally we waved at her and asked her if my friend could get a drink. She walks over and says "ID." This behavior continues until we finally get the bartender to cash us out so we can find a table. No servers ask us if we need anything the entire time, but bring menus to other people. I went back to the bar to ask the bartender if we were supposed to be seated or if we could just take a booth, and she told me it was a dive bar and to sit wherever. We were never served. Honestly, had the musicians not been so talented and friendly, I would have given a lower rating. It's not hard to be nice to nice people, and I was smiling and patient the entire time. Please remind yours staff what customer service is.
Long-standing Atlanta venue with good service and live music.
Way more than your average hole in the wall. Offers variety shows ranging from burlesque to comedy. Metal bands to bluegrass and a variety of stages in multiple rooms. Reasonable drinks, pool and darts.
Great bar, on the small side. There are several rooms...they usually have 2 live music gigs at the same time and they don't interfere with each other. They usually have a great choice of bands to see. Pool tables, pinball machines in a room that is a little tight but pretty standard. The food is great. If you go I suggest the grilled pimento sandwich... This is a good place to hang out, great weekend spot. Give it a try. There's a reason it has been in business for so long.
This is one of my go-to spots around town. They have entertaining open-mic events and the crowd is pretty relaxed.
Great bar overall with an aged feel. Restaurant/pool tables on lower level with live music shows upstairs. Only complaint is upstairs has no where to smoke or get fresh air so you have to navigate through people to downstairs
A good time if you're in state. They don't know their IDs and will refuse service to anyone from out of town.
Great live music and beverages to go with it!!!
Played pool. Fun time. Friendly help.
Great place for a good neat burbon
Went to go see my friends band : morelandtheshooting play this venue and had a great time. Loved the vodka lemonade as well there. Great atmosphere!!!! Loved it.
Nice bar!
there are 2 stages in the bar, and the one upstairs is carpeted and cool and spacious. good acoustics for a show and easy access to the bar. there are also tables at which you can sit on the side, but the rest in the upstairs area is standing room.
Neat enough place, suuuuper busy on the weekend.
Great music and service
Best drinks, awesome history, cutest bartenders, and amazing bands. Music's too loud for comfortable listening levels...Im a pro musician, so it's just my two cents on the volume but I feel like venues everywhere could dial it down 3-to-5 decibels and have much better sound quality. Although that depends on the bands themselves. Still, Smith's is a five star venue and no one can match it's magical powers.
Lily Rose ROCKS!!! Best venue
Finally had the chance to dine here for lunch today. This place was highly recommended by one of my co-workers a couple of years ago.
Best spot for a good times and it's the best place for music!!
I have been going to Smith's off and on for several years. It's THE best place to hear live music. The sound people are fantastic! I wish it had more seating, but I understand why it doesn't. Still a VERY fun place!
MARVIN is great! Progressive Jazz. 8th cd coming soon. They played all new music...Alabama Socks, Strong, more etc.
Drinks tooooooo high! Still a very nice performance venue!
AMAZING bar and music venue! Some of my favorite show experiences have been here
Great entertainment! Had the food before. Just typical bar fare. Not overly impressed
service is consistently above par.
Good vibes. Good people. Great music!
Me and my husband have passed this gem several times while in town. We were always attracted to the way it looked when we drove by and said we need to get in there! Being from Boca Raton, Florida, our opportunities to go weren't many. So FINALLY just a few days ago, we went and had a great time! The atmosphere was your traditional American dive, (meant in the MOST RESPECTFUL, FULL OF AWESOMENESS WAY because we LOVE Dives) cozy overall lighting with a bunch of colorful fun bar fare lighting and decor, filled with a generous mix of locals and out of towners chopping it up. Of course they have all the traditional bar food (including TOTS!) that pairs well with whatever you're drinking. The staff (bartenders and servers) were cool, as personable and professional..whatever and whenever they needed to be given the audience they were dealing with. Kinda like the cool family members that made sure you were fed, quenched, laughing about something and happy AND equally had no problem kicking you out if you got out of line. We felt at home with cool people, a sprinkle of odd, harmless ones for the eclectic vibe, great drinks and food...and the music was on point too. I think it was a DJ (it was a Saturday nite), but I could be mistaken...either way, I know I got up a shook a tail feather at my seat, and did a little chair boogie'n too! I'm glad we finally made it...we will definitely be back..it's one of our stops now.
Nothing better than local live music. Friendly staff and Beer.
Cool atmosphere. Fun to come with friends or on a date and play pool or arcade games.
Nuttin special. Interesting visit none the less. No brown faces in the place. No black faces in the place.(except for a few workers). No yellow faces in the place. Sorta interesting for such a diverse city. Just sayin.
I was only here for one evening for a nerdcore concert. The venue was nice. We grabbed some food before the show, and it was quite tasty. Delightful evening.
I love going to Smith's Olde Bar when some of my best friends since childhood, The Dollyrots, come to play. Staff is awesome, very accommodating.
Great place for drinks, music and atmosphere
if you've not been, you're missing out
Nice place to sit out and have a drink on the patio without the glitz and glamour of some Atlanta bars. Pool table and nice music. Staff was nice.
I'm not one who expects great service... But I appreciate when it happens. Last night was busy and the bartenders multitask amazing, took care of us, and proactively fixed a problem. It wasn't even really a problem... But fixed nonetheless. It's nice when things work - that makes me relax. And makes me want to come back.
Nice place to visit
Upstairs smelled of urine. And that was before I found restroom. Restroom was clean. Carpet upstairs needs to be replaced or cleaned. Allergies along with my co worker caught hell from all the dust. A good clean up is definitely needed upstairs. Upstairs bartender wasn't pleasant at all. Can't understand y u can't order food from upstairs. Downstairs completely different space. Bartender was excellent. Food was good as well as pricing good.
A3c let down. Super hot venue, crazy layout with the bar located in an entirely separate area than the main room. I arrived at midnight to see young dro and Jermaine dupri perform with special guests. There were all of ten people standing around in a hot room, so I went downstairs to get a drink bc it was nowhere to sit upstairs and got turned off with the long wait. Bartender was running his mouth. So no drinks, no main artists, and no ac, sorry but I can’t. If you are coming to see a main act, I would say come 1 hr before the event closes. Maybe then you won’t be bored, hot and bothered. Good luck.
Had a great time. Much more tame than it was in the 90s . But still awesome.
Great place for music in the perfect location.
Fun venue with really nice staff
Love this place for going to underground music shows but parking is really skimpy.
The bar tenders were amazing. The venue is cool. Food takes a little while to come out, but no big deal on that one. The atmosphere is mixed and no one feels out of place. Concerts here are one for the books. Def go anytime you can!
Love coming here to both hear and play music. The staff is great and the sound guys are good
This place is good for a hangout with friends, has billiards, Foosball where one can enjoy with friends. Also this place has got three rooms playing different genres of music, so one can enjoy music along his taste. The only bad thing that is so noticeable is the customer service. They're very slow and you will notice it the first thing. I hope they improve that overall nice place.
It is absolutely impossible to get a server to pay you any attention. Can't even get a menu.
Great neighborhood bar with pool tables and darts.
Local elevated dive bar, with 2 spots for live music, and outside patio, game area, and dining area. It's a Pittsburgh Steelers bar during the season. I've been a fan for over 30 years, and I feel like a newbie showing up here on Sunday! I think people bring food, reserve tables and bar stools. It's weird, but they're dedicated! Other than that, it's a very active bar with your usual shenanigans every night of the week. Great music venue upstairs with small legit stage getting national, regional, and big local acts. Downstairs music venue reserved for smaller acts. The bartenders seem to have been there forever, and these girls are great! Fast, efficient, and just the right amount of smiles!
Poor service on Labor Day. Waitress walking around with attitude. Wasn’t helped by anyone in this place for over 20 minutes.
Great time!!! The band was awesomeness!!! I got a free beer and whiskey so you know life isn't too bad.
The food was great according to my friends lol and we liked the karaoke
I was at Smith's Olde Bar for my dance studio's event January 3rd. It was a busy night as the Steelers were playing, and the main floor was packed with football fans. The only space available that wasn't reserved was a stool at the bar between two parties. My husband was able to get the bartender's attention, and even though it was a hectic night, she was all smiles and cheery helpfulness. I was impressed with how she not only kept her cool, but she was so friendly, even when calling out to give us our food from the bar. Awesome service. I got a BLT, and it was just as a BLT should be. Crunchy on the outside, mayo on the inside, and not skimping on the B, the L, or the T. (Of course not skimping on the bacon is the most important, but I was glad to have a well balanced sandwich.) Curly fries came with, and they were your standard tasty curly fry. Our event was in the room on the second level. We were packed full with our own bartender and waitress for the whole room. These ladies, too, kept their heads and seemed to do a great job with the crowd. Up in our private room, the cozy atmosphere lent itself to a mounting energy within. Cozy and perfect. Down on the main floor, folks were standing where they couldn't sit to be a part of the Steelers crowd and enjoy the game. If I were a sports girl, I bet it would have been a good time. I got a White Russian (sans vodka) from the bar on the main floor, and yes it's a mild drink, but I loved it. That's all I tried alcohol-wise for the evening, though. Major plus: the women's bathroom I visited was very clean. My only complaint with Smith's is how small the parking lot is and how you usually have to park across the street and the shopping strip, but my husband date dropped me off at the door, and I didn't have to walk far. Great service, divey atmosphere, definitely a place for the locals, and fun for private events. Good BLT, too. :)
Ok little bar with great music rooms.
Awesome place with a great atmosphere and setup! Totally worth coming to if you love rock and roll
I love this place. It's larger and has everything you need. Food, beverages and entertainment. They also host an event in Christmas Eve that I will be attending this year. You can park at the shopping plaza and walk right over. Great bar for everyone and awesome service! It's an ATL must.
Fantastic place to see a show. The downstairs area was inviting and looked like an excellent place to have a drink. I will definitely come back. Hope to see another show here or perhaps hang out all day watching NFL football.
I moved to Atlanta 2 years ago and I am a lifelong, live music lover. Didn't take me long to find this place! I love to come early and grab a bite to eat before the show! We usually have a pretty big group and the food is always fantastic! The menu has something for everyone and the drink selection is large and also featues local breweries which is something I support. I cant say enough good things about this place!!!
Good place to listen to music with friends
Great lively place to visit. Great service as well!
Very cool hangout spot. I went to watch a live band & it was awesome.
My band played here and tge staff was so friendly and overal the bar was just a awesome place to hang, mind you this is my opinion from going on Wednesday night. I can inly imagine how fun a weekend is here!
I had not been to SOB in twenty years and it doesn't seem to have changed much. We were there during the day for an event my son's band was playing in. It is a one of a kind place. You get a feeling of history and it feels comfortable. My son loved the buffalo chicken Sammy.
Best dive bar in Atlanta! No where to sit in main stage area. High covers. But great live music and drink prices once youre in. Late night place.
Had a great time at the Doc Todd concert
Like any other great bar you have to experience it for yourself but trust me you'll enjoy yourself with the capable staff there
Seemed legit for a downtown dive bar, pretty spacious, went to see Yellawolf play, but he didnt perform. Beer was halfway cold, plenty of seats, loud music, what you need for a decent bar I guess.
Came out to see a friend's band play, after work, and decided to grab food first from the bar side. The bar smelled terrible and the seating was super outdated and uncomfortable. Our server double checked our food order twice before entering it in and it was still wrong once we got it. We didn't say anything because there wasn't time to order more before the show started. The food was super dry. It isn't our usual bar but the last few times we came to see a band play it was much better.
I was in there and ordered a draft Michelob Ultra at the bar. The bartender took my credit card to start a tab. Subsequently I decided not to stay for any more of the open mic, so I went to pay my tab. Bartender handed me the credit card receipts only (their copy and mine), but did not provide the itemized receipt. The total I had been charged was $7.00. When she came back, I asked her if a draft Michelob Ultra really cost $7.00, and she said “no, I’m sorry.” So I asked her, “Would you mind just bringing me the itemized receipt showing what I was charged for?” She refused to bring it, instead returning with $2.00 cash and handed it to me. She said something about she would need to call the manager in order to provide me with the itemized receipt, and that it would be a lot of trouble and take time. I really didn’t want to get any further into it, and I wanted to leave, so I signed the credit card receipt (no tip) and just left. Apparently they are perpetrating credit card fraud in there. No telling what I was charged for, but the bartender sure did not want me to find out. Since I still do not know exactly what I was charged for or how much I should have actually been charged, I will dispute the charge with AmEx. I had been a long-time regular on Mondays, but I won’t go back to a place where their modus operandi is to commit credit card fraud.
Totally enjoyed the live band!
A classic Atlanta bar with live music. Average bar food, good beer selection and attentive staff.
I had the most bland chicken tenders of my life here. They were fried so well but had no flavor whatsoever. The honey mustard couldn't even save them. They need to season their food lol
Ambiance is abundant. The staff is super nice. There's two stages for live music, a pool room, and an amazing bar with plenty of seating. Love it here!
Great spot for live music!
One of Atlanta's tried and true music venue. With multiple areas to wander around in, this place is great for meeting people and discovering new music. Pool tables and good bar food.
Good Food, Good Vibes, Good Bartenders attracting Good People.
