Eh. Wasn't great. Service is great but food has kind of let me down lately. Chips were cold and stale. Fajitas were bland with no guac and cold beans...made friends with about 8 flies. Sorry guys.

Great local restaurant...Hector is a fantastic chef. They have your traditional tacos and burritos, but Hector also crafts RIDICULOUS authentic specials. Definitely worth a trip!!

Update: As of 10/28/2017 found out they failed their health inspection getting a 62(U). I read of at least 9 issues sited. Hope they get these issues resolved and kept under control. I had given them a 5 Star review back in 6/2016. Very small non chain Mexican Restaurant on the side of the road that I really enjoyed visiting. I liked sitting outside on their small front porch drinking beer from very frosty ice cold mugs and eating a wonderful tasting large portion size steak quesadilla. Fish tacos were also great. I visit mainly in the mid afternoon after the normal lunch hour and get amazing service from the bartender and wait staff. I will come back again and again.

Friends who frequently visit Rio Balsa brought us here. Salsa is very good, though I didn't try the very hot version. Amongst ourselves we shared a pitcher of margaritas, which I'm happy to say was excellent and had a good amount of tequila (!). The food is very attractively presented; our friends informed us that the "cook" is actually a chef (or has had chef training - not sure which). I had the chicken breast, which comes with 4 shrimp, jalapeno grits, and vegetables. Although the sauce that was poured over the chicken/grits was a bit too salty, it was delicious. Veggies we're astonishingly fresh and well-seasoned. I was highly impressed with the meal.

Food was excellent! Fiesta shrimp was awesome. Also had rosemary chicken salad which was great. The chef really knows what he is doing and all the items we had were homemade you could tell. Service was fast and very attentive. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 only because it does not have a lunch menu which would be nice.

I can't speak for the entire menu, but the shrimp and grits are really good. Probably not the best I've ever had, but very very good. The Jalapa sauce has similar characteristics to a Vodka sauce. Also, the side of veggies was a big bowl of deliciousness, you will definitely be full after this meal. I will definitely get the shrimp and grits on my next visit.

Terrible experience. Just moved to cumming and wanted to try a good independent spot, local reviews were great. Waited 45 minutes with the entire restaurant empty for food that was wrong. No plate that was delivered had to correct items. I had a quesadilla that they forgot the cheese on, they offered to remake it. The remake took another 45 minutes only because I had to ask for it twice. Took almost 2 hours to get basically a child’s quesadilla. Other items wrong on other plates were requested 2-3 times before being brought to the table. Will not be returning.

This place is a hole in the wall but it's amazing. Great food and a friendly staff, the prices have went up a bit in the last year but we still think it's worth it. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a few TV's that always have a game on. Fair warning: parking can be scarce at times.
