This Restaurant is included in the category of Bar & grill.
Loved our experience! Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes, yum! Enjoyed eating on the rooftop. Great view.
Arrived at 1pm on a Saturday. Got seated right away. Food was really good, service was also good.
Unique menu, modern southern fusion. Mexican/ Mediterranean. Cool antique building
Stopped in on a Saturday evening. Not much of a wait. We had a small group of 4. Service was good and so was the food. We shared three (3) appetizers and each had a meal. No complaints about any of the food as far as taste. The only issue that we found is that they seem to be trying too hard to be some upscale restaurant...in some aspects. Food is a bit pricey for what you actually get. They have these "fancy" menu items at high prices, but that's as far as the upscale side of it goes. They seemed to pack as many table into the area as they could. You're packed in there. It was super loud because of the amount of people. And I mean, I get it... it's a tourist attraction! This goes back to the wanting to bring upscale and not at the same time. The food and prices say upscale...the atmosphere says otherwise. Been once and that's probably all we'll go...and we live less than 20 minutes from here.
Excellent customer service and food! Must try the clock tower burger
Service was great and the food was even better. The manager gave us a historical background of the building that was built in the late 1800s. Mystic grill is a place will be visiting again for sure.
I got the Shrimp and Grits and it tasted awesome! The service was friendly enough and the food came out quickly. The shop underneath the restaurant was pretty neat too, it had a lot of cool trinkets to purchase especially for fans of vampire diaries, although it's a bit pricey. Also, make sure you get a chance to eat on the roof or at least check it out! Theres a nice view and they sometimes have live music.
Loved the quaint feel of this place. The food and drinks were excellent. Gotta give their "Bible Belt" drink a try. It was fantastic!
It's good but not flawless. One of the better places in Covington
There was quick service, food was good a little pricy.
It may not be what we remember from The Vampire Diaries, but it was not a disappointment! Seriously the best food I’ve had in a while! We both had “The Clocktower” burger! So big and so delicious. The fried pickles, “curly potato wedges” and sweet potato fries were just as great as the burger. Worth stopping in! Would eat there every day I was in town!
Short and sweet review here. I believe this is the best restaurant in the neighborhood. Go here, get the chicken sliders, enjoy the great service, have a good time. Guaranteed!
The staff was perfect, the food delicious, the ambiance magnifique!!
The Mystic Grill is from the show The Vampire Diaries, however its not a bar like in the show. They serve things like shrimp and grits, pastas, and burgers. The customer service here is wonderful. Very inviting and family friendly. Another must visit when coming to Covington!
Hands down the best fried green tomatoes!! The food was good as well.. prices were reasonable! Great key lime pie! It was our first time trying this restaurant and we'll definitely be back!!
A waste of money. Servers were very nice and fast service but unfortunately I ordered the chicken with red eye gravy and from when the plate hit the table something smelt terribly wrong. I asked the server to return my plate and instead of the gravy if I could substitute. She returned quickly and said I could but at a charge. When I said never mind I’ll just take a side of gravy she then left and came back and said sorry they couldn’t serve the red eye gravy because come to find out she wasn’t suppose to tell me but the red eye was made with chicken stock that had ruined,,, but yet I’m suppose to pay to substitute my side when it’s you guys problem that your chicken stock is spoiled . After all that it just went downhill I asked to speak to the manager and he was busy. They have definitely lost mine in my familys service.
I searched for ANYTHING different in Convington and we found ourselves there. I was very disappointed with the food, it was dry and expensive. It did have a nice atmosphere inside and the staff was very helpful.
We drove 40 minutes from Atlanta based on recommendation. When we arrived we were told a 30 minute wait but were not seated for 1 hour and 27 minutes after arriving. While waiting we were in the lounge area and ordered appetizers and cocktails. These arrived quickly and were absolutely delicious, unfortunately we never saw our server again for the entire wait of over an hour. We were then seated finally and ordered waters and one beer which arrived after 10 minutes. We then waited another 13 minutes for the server to come take our food order. Food arrived in a reasonable time and was decent but nothing to rave about. Again, once the food was delivered we never saw a server again until the meal was concluded and we had waited an additional 15 minutes. Not once we're we offered water refills or additional beverages or asked if we needed anything further. Pretty disappointing all together. I'm giving 2 stars for the appetizers. Otherwise, a zero.
Very good mystic burger. Price's were kind of high but being a tourist town/attraction its something you could expect. The pregnant waitress(bless her heart) tried her best but ultimately isn't deliver. Another waitress brought out our food and kept an eye on us.
This is a MUST READ review before you decide to spend your money on Mystic Grill. *Hair in the food- We found a short curly piece of hair in the potatoes. *Staff member who removed the dish had a very nonchalant attitude and did not inform our server of the problem because he had no idea when he arrived back at our table. It seemed as though it were not taken seriously. *The manager did not take responsibility for the mistake. He said “our cooks all wear hair nets” in a way that came off very excusatory and flippant. *Manager did not comp the food nor provide any kind of discount which further showed his lack of responsibility and care over the issue. *Once the check came back the manager did not void the first entree that was taken back so the check showed an additional entree ordered that should not have been there. *Once the entree replacement was brought out in a to go box the manager stated “I’ve personally checked the meal myself” however this could not have been true because when we got home the “blackberry pork tenderloin” contained no trace of blackberry whatsoever. The absolute lack of care at multiple points through our repulsively unsatisfying experience was very insulting and grossly negligent. I would recommend that you spend your money somewhere where the staff is competent and courteous which was not the case at Mystic Grill.
Fancy for Covington. Ok food.
The atmosphere is perfection. It is a must for any Vampire Diary fans. The food is average, but I have a feeling we went on an off day. It wasn't very busy, but the kitchen was very slow. The wait staff was superb. Very attentive and made up for the wait.
When I found out that the Mystic Grill from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals was an hour away from where I live, I knew I had to go. Located in the heart of sleepy Covington, Mystic Grill is a hidden gem that you could easily accidentally pass. The exterior, while beautiful and the most recognizable part of the building, gives little insight into the beauty of the interior. The menu is influenced by Southern cuisine and the prices are spot on for the quality of the food. Mystic Grill has a substantial alcohol list and the bar is gorgeous. While there, definitely head up to the roof top to drink in the views of the town square. On the way up, you will find signed menus from various actors that have filmed in town. After you head upstairs, head down to The Alley. It is situated under the restaurant and right off of the alley which is in some of the scenes of TVD and TO. Inside you will find a gift shop and wardrobe and props from the shows. My husband and I will definitely be back for date night. I HIGHLY recommend the shrimp and grits paired with the June Bug.
Had an excellent time last night celebrating my wife’s birthday on their rooftop. Service was terrific, and the food was amazing. The Seared Tuna Salad was cooked to perfection! We will be back very soon!
I had the blackberry chicken salad and it was amazing!!! We also had the fried pickles as a starter and they were the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely get these again. We had a large group of 9 and everyone’s dinner was off the charts good. Will def go back!
Four stars, mainly for the location and notoriety. Vampire Diaries. Friendly servers. The manager (owner?) stopped by our table. Appealing interior. My cheeseburger was delicious, with a half pound patty. Covington is a very scenic town.
Good variety of delicious food and a great beer selection. Great service also. And I'm not even into vampire shows.
I have been here twice. Both visits were enjoyable. My food was good. The chicken & waffle slider appetizer was delicious! And they don't always have the same dessert menu but if you get a chance try the bread pudding it was surprisingly good, and I don't usually care for bread pudding
We had the Mystic burgers with sweet potatoes fries and their wedge fries and it was all delicious! The condiments came out on a separate plate. The service was friendly and great. Very cool to see where Vampire Diaries was filmed and there is a museum / shop downstairs from it. Highly recommend even if your not a V.D. fan!
Good food...just a little bit noisy..
Love this place!! Doesn't look like the Mystic Grill on The Vampire Diaries show on the inside. It's still a great restaurant. Hosts were great with details about you'll be notified about your table being ready. Our server was excellent! Food was amazing! They even have tables on the roof.
My favorite spot in Covington. Service is always awesome! This is where I come to relax and have a good time with family. Fave dishes are the salads, and the fried chicken sliders. But everything on the menu is usually really good.
The food around lunch time is amazing! Friendly staff, family friendly. And the burgers are well worth the 1 hour drive from Macon
Great food and great service. The Sweet Tea chicken is my favorite. I highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.
Great place to eat with great atmosphere. We have gathered here for many birthdays, anniversaries and just for a place to go for good food. This historic building has great design and decor. It was also in some of Vampire Diaries filming. They have a very good variety of entrees to try. We enjoy the sweet tea chicken and clock tower burger, along with lots of other choices.
Very nice atmosphere. Great service and food delicious.
Wow talk about an amazing experience. Just walking up to the front door gives me goosebumps because Ian Somerhalder was once here. Talk a about fantastic. Now this place has history from the Netflix show The Vampire Diaries. Don't let this be the only reason for your visit here. Their food is just to die for. Wow the service is also so friendly.
Great place to eat, even if you don't know the history it. I am also officially saying that they have some of the best onion rings I've ever had.
I discovered this restaurant when suggested by a friend and when I was evacuated by Dorian. This grill totally had its act together. Located in the town centre of Coveington, Ga. (where Sweet Home Alabama was filmed,) the inside took you back into an era of Southern charm and extremely high, delightful, employee manners !! The dishes were very good, each with its signature presentation and taste while being reasonably priced. One also had to experience the many "one of a kind," bar sensations. Rarely do I give a five-star rating but what tipped the scales was the unbelievably great service. Service that exceeded the highest in the industry, worldwide. Why? The food was hot, out quickly and correctly and was unique to this establishment. The extra star? Everyone, from hostesses, to server, to food runners, to chefs, to management, to bussers, to those giving directions to the restroom were more than competent , THEY HAD A GENUINE SMILE ON THEIR FACE !!!
5 stars- we had a late business dinner, Mystic staff stayed late to accommodate us. Good food, great service.
Never had a bad meal. The sweet tea fried chicken and shrimp and grits are the bomb!!!
Given that there is not much going on in Covington, this is the place we were recommended to visit, so ended up here for dinner 2 evenings in a row. The place is quite nice, service attentive and the food pretty good. So all in all a nice experience.
This was my 1st visit. The food was delicious and more than enough. Thanks Sarah
Dined in the upstairs dining room. The walls are made of all doors, distressed look. Beautiful. The dining table was beautifully set. The waitress, manager and other staff friendly, organized, didn't miss a beat on servicing, making you feel welcome and special. The foood! Omg! No complaints from anyone in our group. I had their Mystic chicken salad. Large delicious serving with grilled chicken breast on top of fresh salad a vinegaret type of dressing with pieces of pecan. Very filling. The other dishes I saw served at the table looked just as delicious and others voiced their meals were great also. Great place, great staff!
The best food, drinks, and service
Great for Vampire lovers! Great food.
We celebrated my mom's 79th birthday. The food and service were over the top!
Amazing food and amazing view from the rooftop dining area. The service was phenomenal.
I have spent so much money at this restaurant. They have a large selection of food and even cater to vegetarians. The problem is that they are very over priced! I asked for a grilled cheese sandwich from the children's menu that was $5 and they said that because I am an adult I would have to pay $10 for the same size. Well.. .I didn't eat that day ! They were greedy and they didn't get my money !
Food was wonderful. Our server was most excellent!
We had a larger party of 10. So they split us up into two different parts of the restaurant. However, they did ask if that was ok with us and we agreed. The manager kindly gave us a free appetizer for our trouble. The food was great!
The food is always really good! Great atmosphere and decor! Their pimento cheese dip is a must have! Because of its popularity, it can get really busy really quick tho!
Food is always good here. We love the rooftop!
Great food and atmosphere! The little town square is great. Plenty of parking, lots of cute stores and restaurants. Mystic grill, best-known for it's appearance in Vampire Diaries, is way better than expected! Great appetizers and entrees. Good beers on tap. Great atmosphere. I look forward to coming back!
Came with a large party and tried a variety of apps and entrees. Everything was delicious!
This establishment is starting to grow on my. The dishes I try the more I'm enjoying this restaurant. And the drinks are excellent! Servers are always friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to accommodate our needs.
Great service, food and atmosphere. If you are a Vampire Diaries fan awesome place to experience.
Really good food and very neat building. A little on the pricey side. Most servers are extremely polite and friendly. Our bartender seemed annoyed to be there.
A good restaurant, with quite an interesting decor. Not the largest of menus, but the food quality is excellent, and service is prompt. Be aware, no same day reservation, and the full party must be present to get a table.
Food and Service is Excellent Atmosphere is Like No other in Town
Such an excellent restaurant. I stopped by while in town and was not disappointed. Great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. I was skeptical about the grilled cheese since I never had grilled cheese that wasn’t just american cheese, but I am so happy I went with it. It was so unique and tasty!
First time eating here. Orders the Clocktower burger and it was awesome. Staff was friendly. Will definantly be making more visits in the future.
Delicious, ordered the salmon and it was prepared to perfection, service was fantastic as well, even during a busy Saturday night. Would highly recommend, great atmosphere and great food, what else could you ask for?
Food was amazing. Server was amazing. Would highly recommend
My Gender Reveal Had To Change Locatios Last Minute But This Restaurant Accommodated My 20 Guest & Myself NO PROBLEM! & The Food Was AWESOME! First Time Attending But It Will Not Be My Last. THANK YOU MYSTIC GRILL & STAFF!
The obvious connection to TVD gives this place it's appeal, but the food is good too! And the employees are super friendly.
Went there for lunch around 1pm and it was going to be a 15-20 minute wait. Instead, we sat at the bar and had good service there. The smoked chicken on a ciabatta bun and sweet potato fries were delicious!
Absolutely delicious food, very clean restaurant and the staff was amazing
This place is so nice on the inside i love all the decor the chicken slider with red pepper and jelly cheese was amazing.....the grits are even to die for...
The food was fantastic. I had the BlackBerry Chicken Salad. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer and the pimento cheese appetizer and they were both delicious. We ate on the rooftop and really enjoyed our visit!
Good food! Ronnie was our server again. He's always great!
Coolest restaurant around! Great service and really good food! The fried pickles are amazing and not something I usually order, but were definitely worth it!
Swing and a miss. Ordered today's special, Double double burger. It appeared to be cooked correctly, however, it was what the waiter wanted, not the chef. When you tell them, "how the chef thinks it needs to be done" that's what it means. Not medium. Besides that, they didn't season it. It appears they said, "we will custom make a beef/pork burger, but that's custom enough, seasoning is an extra un needed step. My wife's sweet tea chicken had some decent flavor, but I thought mashed potatoes were supposed to be seasoned as well. I will try again, maybe there plain burgers will be better.
Good food, fair price, not much movie props around
One of the most satisfying places I've been in a wild. You feel a sense of closeness to the cast of the Vampire Diaries, the food is excellent and the service is phenomenal. Can't wait to go back!
Great atmosphere! Good service! Good food!
Very upscale eatery. Prices more suited for the Atlanta market in my opinion, rather than Covington. But my two visits here found large lunch crowds each time. Foods are plentiful and really good.
Delicious food! Large portions so we took some home fir dinner. Love the location! They have a museum down the stairs beside the entrance with memorabilia from the days of, In The Heat of The Night. Also, in the restaurant there is separate bar with a separate entrance which was nice so it didn't get too loud while enjoying lunch with my Aunt. We ordered their hamburgers which both of us agreed were grilled exactly as ordered and the best we've ever had!
I love eating here with my parents! Upscale dining with a great view of the Square! Food is absolutely delicious! An absolute must when visiting Covington!
I’ve had lunch here many times. Visited sept 3 for our anniversary dinner, outstanding menu, great view of town on the roof section.
Generous portions and everything tasted great. Very nice atmosphere as well.
While the ambiance is nice, the food is great to look at, but not as good as expected. I think a $15 hamburger should be cooked as asked for and I shouldn't have to wait 15 mins for the waiter to come back to the table to see if we're okay, after dropping off my wrongly cooked burger. The mgr was nice enough to take it off my bill since I didn't eat it. I might try them again if I'm ever in the area and hungry, but I won't be going out of my way to go there.
Second visit here. I really dig the pimento cheese and crackers. We also tried the friend green tomatoes. Our waiter was easy on the eyes. That helped ha! Then one waitress offered to take our pictures the whole night. And one man twirled our friend around. Just a super friendly staff and that's hard to find these days.
Me and my Bestie went out for a girls night and chose Mystic Grill. The food and service was excellent. The decor was very interesting and we enjoyed the Purple Goat cocktail. I can't wait to go back. I was very impressed with the food, it was perfect!
Its pretty costy for a grill and its location. Really uses the tourist experience to their advantage. Go if you have to, but I'll stay home.
Amazing food and a legendary experience for any Vampire Diaries fan
Very good atmosphere. Tasty salad and soup.
the food is fantastic the service is great and I would recommend it to anybody.
Have dined here several times. Quality food, with attentive wait staff. Dining on the balcony is my favorite part!
By far my favorite restaurant in Covington! You can have a burger on the rooftop or Salmon in the restaurant. Always a lovely evening!
Travel a few hours from time to time just to come experience this place. Also to get a feel of that "Mystic Falls" setting. The food is always great and some really good musicians come through to play on the rooftop. Check this place out
I Love vampire diaries!! It was pretty cool to eat where the cast from the show actually filmed and they had lots of pictures and memories from the show every where
Absolutely love the Mystic Grill from the minute we walked in the door. The staff made us feel right at home. The atmosphere, food and service were excellent. And then we went up to the roof top for some views and music. Just breathtaking!
I liked the decor and the feel of the place. It was my first time. The french fries are probably the best I've ever eaten. I would probably go back just for the french fries. The staff was very attentive, professional and friendly.
First time coming here and was not disappointed. Husband had the chicken pasta, and I had the trout. Food was delicious, service was great. We sat on the rooftop and the view was amazing. Can't wait to come back!
Today's lunch was the best I've had at Mystic Grill in a long time! So glad they are back to serving great food in an awesome location!
My party of four all enjoyed their lunch. The pimiento cheese appetizer was wonderful. The hamburger was LARGE, the winder fries are unique and delicious. Unique would also describe the grilled cheese sandwich. And the lobster roll was darn good.
The shrimp and grits were wonderful. I had mine without bacon. No pork on my fork. Lol. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Great place to dine for lunch. Just make sure you get there early enough for parking. I was okay but my friend had to park at the nearby bank and walk over. Exercise is always good though. Lol. I look forward to going back. Maybe I will try them for dinner and dessert.
Food and service are excellent; clean restrooms and dining area, but prices are on the high end.
Oh my goodness! The fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese were AMAZING!! I had the trout and green beans and they were delicious. Love the atmosphere and the beautiful building. They have 2 bars and a roof top lounge with live music. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Now I know why people love this place. I will definitely be back.
I absolutely loved this place outstanding service and great food. I got the ribye stake and it was definitely one of the best steaks I have ever ate.
I love it. Food is great. If u are a fan of vampire diaries this is the place for u. I highly recommend
Food.was really good i recommend the bleu cheese pasta dish it was awesome but make sure you bring your appetite cause.the portions are big
Going there is always a unique experience. That is why I keep coming back!
Super fun place to go as a fan of Vampire Diaries. Lots of things to see. Food was amazing.
Came here for lunch date and it wasn't terrible. Not a fan of the high top table seating. But the booths are to large for two people party. Food was okay. I had a smoked chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. The fries were a little disappointing for southern cuisine. There was an appetizer that was a hit with my lunch date. The French onion dip was very good.
Loved chillin' on the rooftop bar. You can dine al fresco. Concert on the square this evening so we could enjoy the music. Staff friendly and our dinner selections were great!
