All you can eat Catfish Fridays, it's like going to dinner with friends. You're greeted with smiles and hugs. Everyone is soooo friendly and the regulars sit, talk and visit from table to table. Great atmosphere and the food is Good.

I'm not a fan of buffet, but visiting family loves them. Food was very bland. Macaroni and cheese was runny where you needed to drain it. The restaurant overall is not the cleanest, sticky floor, cramped with tables and old food on steamer to keep warm. The services was just someone coming to remove used plates, she never offered a name or refilled the drink.

Ok, now if there were a negevit star on this app, I would give this place a negevit -60, ok if anyone's knows my husband, and how much he loves Mac and cheese and well this place he spit it out if his mouth and in his napkin, the food here is the groosest thing we ever had eaten and we eat everywhere! I am so surprised this place is still in business! People don't waste your $9 buffet not that good!

They fired a young lady named Hannah. Hannah was very well liked by the customers and was told she was being fired because she was pretty and young. Heather the manager is rude and would yell at Hannah in front of the customers.

Always fresh and excellent. I go on Tuesdays to get chicken livers since this is one of the few places you can get good ones around here. But regular fried chicken and other entrees are also good, as is the vegetable selection.

Home style buffet. Very affordable. Fried fish, veggies, deviled eggs, broccoli cheese casserole, apple cobbler, banana pudding and jello. I was too hungry and finished my first plate of fried chicken, country fried steak, yams and mashed potatoes before I thought about taking pictures.

My daughter and I eat here far more than we should but you can't beat the price and the food is always good! The Owner and Staff are extremely personable and treat you like family. Lee, Grace, Lori and Debbie are truly Amazing and so is the Chocolate Cheese Cake!!!!!

Couple things,... This review may be long... This is not a fine dining establishment, and if you go in there thinking that, you'll be one of those that give it a neg review. With that said, I really like the place. First time was today, I plan on returning. It's difficult to find restaurants that serve vegetables. Theres very few options in that regard near my place. Employees were very friendly. My waitress was heather. Very nice. Great service. Yes its definitely an older generation hang out, but that's totally cool with me. I like to talk with people, and experience matters, so that wasn't a big deal to me as it clearly was to other reviewers. Food was good. Now I didnt try everything. I'm a diabetic, so I was super duper happy to find vegetables, but I did try a couple things just to see.. They had from what i remember.. Fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, country fried steak, Corn, beans, green beans, mac and cheese, collards, mash pot, some kind of rice thing, fried okra, corn bread, rolls, salad and all the fixin's, soup, pies, From the stuff I had, collards, green beans, corn, country fried steak and gravy, mac and cheese, beans, coffee, water. Everything but the mac and cheese was delicious. Small issues I had, it was in need of a cleaning. It wasn't nasty or anything close to that but it did look like someone dropped the ball on cleaning but it was certain things... Examples, 1 of the clean plate buffet stack was not clean, The trim on the walls had dirt caked up... Small things... Overall opinion? I really enjoyed it, and look forward to going again. Good vegetables plates, buffet with coffee water $10.50 plus tip, right down the street from me, I'm good to go. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 was the dirty plate. It looked like it went through the dishwasher, but wasn't pre washed. Food was still viable around the center edge... Final thoughts... Some of those people that left reviews are LOL worthy... you got a strand of people that all know that 1 girl that got fired, and they all left bad reviews because of it. Then that 1 guy that hates old people lmao Bad mac and cheese reviews FACTS.

I stop here to get food for my 86 yr old parents. For take out, you pay by the pound. Very nice staff who are always attentive to my folks if I bring them in. Food is nice and there's always something I know that they will enjoy. Never disappointed with a stop here.

Great! Waitresses were very friendly. My husband and I are both on walkers and our waitress offered to help with getting our food. The food was very good. They always have the best fried chicken! They offer three different meats along with several different vegetables. Just good country food.

If you are in a wheelchair you are not aloud to sit in the area where the buffet is. I was told that it is the "managers rule" so not to be in the way. I was not blocking anyone from getting to the buffet from the booth that me and my fiance chose to eat at. Our waitress lead us to the far end of the restaurant where it was dark. There are plenty of tables in the middle that we could have sat at. I was humiliated and hurt. I gave them one star because they didn't charge me for my meal. Needless to say, I won't go there anymore even it is free for the people in wheelchairs. Also, the food was hardly warm. I have more that I could say but I will stop here.....do yourself a favor and don't stop there for good food and respect ♿

There was a dead fly in my glass of tea. The fly had to have been killed in the dish washer. It was stuck in the inside of my glass. I didn't notice it until I had drank half a glass. The fly was stuck to the inside of my glass. The waitress showed it to the owner. She only said that she was sorry. And her rate has increased to $9.00. I asked for a 10% discount, she only said "I'm sorry". I was a regular customer. Not anymore.

I'm not sure how this place passed their health inspection. The floor was filthy and the fried okra and chicken were fried in old grease, which means that the grease hasn't been changed in...only God knows how long. Very disgusting!

I have been going here for years, usually with my father but after my last experience I will NEVER go back! I took my children to go eat and everything was fine until we went to leave. My daughter had gotten sleepy- she is 3- and began acting up. That is when I decided to leave. The staff is usually wonderful but despite my decision to remove my daughter from the restaurant, upon check out I was greeted by an extremely rude and possibly racist cashier. The food is always bland, the chicken always dry and the salad bar is poor at best. They need to appreciate their customers, ALL of them because there is far better restaurants very close by. I will not be going back.

I have not enjoyed a restaurant this much in years, and I worked in all different kinds through my youth and early 20s. Service was beyond exceptional, glasses never went below half full, had everything we could possibly need, and super friendly. The place was clean and comfortable, and the food... Well let's just say I thought I had died and gone to Heaven, and I'm from the South so I'm really picky about my home style cooking!

Good old timey food when I went in. Come to find out they change the buffet for different days of the week. Day we went they had fried fish, chicken, fried green tomatoes. Salad bar. Country cooking. Good value. Not open late. Think they close at 3pm. Si get there early for a good lunch.

1\23\2018 dined in for dinner with my brother and son...The food was good but not enough to earn the name Home Cooking or Southern Cooking as with the other diners in the area. Together they all fall short of original Home Cooking as I know it. It is a great service to the elderly who are unable to cook at home and to people who do not have the time to prepare meals as this takes a lot of time. The buffet was clean and the food was kept plentiful. The cobbler was bland as it was at the other diners. The ice cream was excellent. The servers were friendly and attentive.

I don't understand how people like the food here. The only part of my meal that was ok were the mixed veggies (squash, onions, carrots, and broccoli) the roast chicken breast, and the salad. The mashed potatoes taste like the box they came out of, the gravy was water, the Mac n cheese was watery and had no flavor. The fried fish was ok as well but the cornbread muffins were burnt. The fried chicken was bland.

Ignore the rude reviews from ignorant people. They have issues. This buffet restaurant offers good home-style cooking. It's good food for your money. And it's all you can eat, too. Generally, there's a good selection to satisfy most people. Fried chicken is daily and quite tasty. Always, several other meat selections are available. Fried fish is good on Friday's. I enjoy their BBQ ribs too. Lots of vegetables to choose from. Salad bar has a good selection, and it's fresh. Dessert has a good selection. Vanilla and chocolate ice cream are daily staples. Free sweet tea is good. For $8.50, I can stuff myself and get all the vittles I need for the day. I tip $1.50, so the meal costs me $10 total. For me, this can be my main meal all day. No shopping for the meal. No preparing the meal. No dishes, leftovers or trash to deal with. This saves me a lot of time and trouble. For a good, inexpensive, filling, satisfying, and convenient meal, I recommend M & J Home Cooking.
