My fiance's sister wanted to come here. It was a great experience, with a few drawbacks. They had ordered some small plates to snack on before I got there, but they were out of the deviled eggs. I also ordered a beer and they brought me the wrong beer. They also brought us the pimento cheese when we didn't order that either. Our server was nice, but he didn't seem like he should be a server. The manager was nice, and a different server stopped by who was pretty great as well. I would say it felt pretty disorganized, like they were trying to have a sense of teamwork, but they need to work on their communication.

So at this location you cant change anything about your burger or food period. Yes the burger was good but seriously tastes exactly like krystals burgers... save the 18$ and buy a 4 pack at krystal. Plus they screwed up the check and if we werent honest he wouldve only gotten 14$ on a 50$ meal... wont be here again.

We were in town with family who said they saw a TV program that rated their hamburgers #2 in the country. Receptionists said the burgers weren't on the menu (no surprise) but were available to order. Result: Nothing special. Good meat flavor but very greasy and very salty. No trimmings on this overpriced $17 burger and mayo was $1 extra. Service was friendly. I'd rate the BK Whopper much higher than this greasy burger. I see no reason to return to this overpriced yuppy haven.

I had drinks and appetizers in the bar area this Tuesday night. Although it was Tuesday, it was still busy. The service was excellent and our waiter checked on us the right amount and offered recommendations from the menu. We got the bacon carmel popcorn, the pimento cheese and the steak tar tar. Everything was delicious, though I'm not a fan of raw onions and there were a lot in the steak tar tar. Great atmosphere and I heard Owen Wilson stopped in while I was there (but I didn't see him).

I have only ever went on a Sunday where they have the burger as a mainstay item on their brunch menu. I arrived 15 minutes early before open and the line had already wrapped around the corner! The wait ended up being about 1.5 hours - insane!! -The Burger- Is it worth the hype? Yes, I would say so! It is absolutely delicious, the meat patty is juicy and flavorful, the bread is soft, the fries and condiments are always fresh and taste-y. Would I wait 1.5 hours again? Probably not. 1 hour? Maybe. 45 minutes? Definitely. Recommendations + Try going around 2pm on a Sunday. I saw tables starting to clear around then. + Do not bring a big group! Ideally 2 as the tables are all small and there is only 1 large table in the center. + Grab a cocktail while you wait and enjoy!

(They have a very limited amount of burgers they'll sell every day, but it didn't live up to my expectations, there are better tasting burgers in Atl) Besides the burgers, the place is very very nicely put, service is spot on, and the whole vibe there is quite nice...

Went early on a weeknight, moderately crowded at the bar. Decent beer selection. At the table ordered a cheese plate, the selection and quality for which was quite good. Also ordered the famous burger. The server told me that my life was about to change, and it did. Now I know never to go back to H&F. I mean, the burger was fine, but nothing Wendy's couldn't equal. I honestly have no idea why people rave about them. Maybe because they used to be somewhat of a secret, so people were willing to overlook a decidedly average burger because they were part of some exclusive club? Overall not bad, but certainly doesn't live up to any hype.

The food here was good, but we were a bit disappointed since the fried chicken skins were no longer being served but still showed on their online menu. Similar to some of the other reviews the service seemed cold. This restaraunt is also fairly small which makes the seating tight. If your going for the burger I'd recommend skipping the public house and just going the place in Ponce City Market. It would be a decent spot for drinks and snacks though.

Leaving ATL this particular location we sought out. It's not anything that we expected. Much to our surprise. The food was excellent as well as the waiter. Great charcuterie, small plates, and burger. I love the beef tartare here, as well as the meat and cheese plates. My boyfriend and I are burger snobs, and the H&F burger is one of the best in Atlanta. They also have an oyster special during the week that is pretty solid. The cocktails are always on point. We have found that they are also very accommodating with squeezing us in on busy night. We know that if we go here for a date night, it will always be a good one.

Amazing place with a unique style. The off menu burger is amazing. The house made bun and crispy edges on the patty are a burger lovers dream. The plates have unique produce offerings that are delicious and very fresh. The meat selection is special as well. Pig head fritters and Lamb sweatbreads just to name a few. The craft cocktails are carefully made with an amazing whiskey selection and the staff is well trained and engaging.

We ate here Friday night for the third time. We brought our foodie son from Minneapolis. Even though the quarters/space is very tight here the environment feels hip and comfortable. Famous for the burger They did not disappoint. The guys loved their juicy, tender mouthwatering burgers and rate them as #1 or #2 of best ever eaten. Cocktails and the wine list or also excellent. The service is superb even when it is extremely busy. All Waiters and management serve and Are attentive. Now for the down side, if you are vegetarian or enjoy sides this is currently not the place for you. I would so appreciate if the chefs would put attention in this area. The few choices offered overall are very poorly done ($8 each side)for generally such a high quality restaurant. This has been the case all 3 times visited. In this case the sweet potato was baby food consistency, under seasoned and just barely warm. the few pecans were the only redeeming quality. The salad/greens was small overdressed and way too acidic/sour with a few tasteless goat cheese balls. Please show some support to vege lovers by improving in this area.

The burger is amazing. Two patties, cheese and a great bun. Handcut fries that are perfectly crispy! Great food. The service pretty spot on....once they get to you. There seems to be little sense of urgency but they are very friendly and answer any requests professionally. Guess when you have a huge line you don't have to worry about being fast.

I drove past the place twice, but once I found it was nice to have complimentary valet parking. Their burgers come with their homemade mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions and two patties on a buttery soft bun. The fries are to die for. The service was a little slow, but pleasant. Plenty of craft beer to choose from. I enjoyed my visit, and will return.

Small bites, not Tapas, constitute the menu. Order many as they are reasonable priced. For two we ordered: Fried kale with buttermilk dressing Deviled eggs - 3 ways Shrimp Roll Bacon Popcorn Fish and Chips We left full and pleased with service. The atmosphere is pretty sweet, but good luck if you are trying to get a burger! I believe they only serve like 24 per day, so put your order in asap!

Cool spot to grab good drinks and a burger. They have an interesting drink list with tasty cocktails and local craft brews. Their menu is a little limited. I enjoyed the sweetbread, bone marrow, and charcuterie, which were all prepared well. And to the burger. For all the fanfare, it is remarkably simple, but execution elevates it above the crowd. Sandwiched between two buttered brioche-like pain de mie buns, the two beef patties are rich and juicy. They have a fairly spartan approach to toppings with shaved onion, American cheese, and pickles. The burger may not be destination-worthy in and of itself, but, as a whole, I would recommend dining here.

We stopped by after dinner was served just to sit at the bar and grab a few drinks. I have to say I was very impressed. The bartender asked my husband and I questions about our drink preferences and then he made up some really nice drinks. I'm not talking about regular fruity stuff I mean he went hard core and used bitters and lemon peels and all. We had two completely different tastes but he managed to be spot on with both drinks that he made. It was a nice vibe in the whole place. The music was also cool as they were playing an album that was just released the same day. I want to go back soon and try their food. I heard it's really good. The bathroom was kind of yucky but I won't dock a star for that since it was close to closing time.

An excellent mixology bar--IF you get the right bartender. We've been here and had a great time with a friendly bartender and we've had a so-so time with a bartender who had a pompous attitude. This is a fun, classy, upscale bar... why work here if you do not want to engage customers? Attitudes aside, it's a cool, little cocktail bar that also serves some unique foods. Drinks: 5 !!! Food: 3.5 Service: Could be a 2 or a 5, depending on bartender/server Not good for big groups. NOT kid friendly. Consider dinner next door at Restaurant Eugene if you want a great meal. Then drinks here (or before). Or Both.

I was very excited to visit Holeman and Finch to try their famous burgers. The experience started out good with a elegently laid out floor plan and well designed bar. Bartenders had good knowledge and cocktails were good. The bad. Fruit Flies at the bar, a large cluster landing on bartending equipment and making their way on customers food. Then came the wait. Slow execution for their famous 17 dollar burger. Then came the burger. Overcooked and underseasoned is an understatement. Very unfortunate because the bun and pickles were great. Cheese was lost and flavorless. Fries were cooked well and crispy. I had high expectations and the results of my visit made me feel I could have done better at Taco Mac . My hope is this was a one off experience.

Absolutely phenomenal! The bar staff was amazing. Our bartender mixed a drink and have it to my husband as we were chatting about the drinks. We did not realize it was a gift until the check came! Food was good. Reasonably priced. Chicken skins we're surprisingly good, very spicy. Chicken liver was smooth and sweet. Bone marrow was rich but a little under seasoned. Beef tartar was pretty straight forward. Bread was top notch. Burger was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding was very sweet but good to split. Service was good but kinda cold.

We go on Sunday's when the excellent burgers are available. During the week, they only do 24 burgers, first come, first serve at night... As this is their BEST dish, it only makes sense to go on Sunday's when you can get the burgers for the full day of service. Their burgers are rated as one of the BEST in America and with good reason. All condiments are also made from scratch in the kitchen. Seating is limited and they do take reservations.

H&F is a kind of culinary adventure - every time I go I never know what I ordered last or what I'll get next, but exploring the menu (especially with friends) is always exciting! The names and descriptions alone won't get you very far unless you're a huge foodie (even those of us with experience had never heard of half the meats or ingredients), so take your server's recommendation and be prepared for something surprising, bizarre, and monstrously delightful. Also, though it rotates almost daily, if the carbonara is on the menu (oh my God) order the carbonara!!

The legendary burger was a joke. On the menu, it said it comes with cheese, and when it came, I immediately recognized it as a kraft single. Legally, Kraft singles are not able to be listed as cheese in the US, as they're not made from 51% real cheese. It is cheese product. The arrogant waiter explained to me, happily, that kraft singles are the best ingredient for the burger's flavor profile. The underseasoned, boring cardboard that I received backed his opinion up. Best burger ever!. The burger was still the most rich and savory thing i ever tasted after just having sucked down a whole bone marrow plate by myself. All food was amazing. Had an excellent server as well. Went on a Thursday later in the evening and it was pretty dead. Top of the list for last meal wishes. I can not do this place justice in this review.

The food was amazingly delicious. However, the presentation could be a bit better for a high end place like this... My (delicious) Peanut Hame looked like someone upended beef jerky onto a plate, with no other thought to the opting process. Also, not a great place for any party larger than four. You can't make a reservation for anytime after 5:30 and they only have one table for >4, which appeared to be used for "family style" seating for multiple groups. We waited over an hour to be sat and there was no where to wait (very very small restaurant) so we had to sit outside in the cold. I wouldn't have minded the wait or inconvenience of sitting outside had one of the three employees I spoke to (prior to going) mentioned this... Or given any advice on accommodating my special occasion. Customer service gets one star. However, our server and the wait/kitchen staff were all amazing. The food was timely and delicious!

They have the best burger in the city hands down. However, the price has been steadily increasing and has reached my breaking point. Couple this with devil eggs no longer a regular on the menu and uncomfortable seating in the bar area, H+F has really fallen off the list of places I frequent.

Last time I was here I was blown away, but this time I was absolutely floored. The food and drinks were second to none, but then I had the Veal Fries. One of the best things I have ever tasted! When I was here before it seemed to have a more Italian/French influence to the food, but now with a different chef they appear to be bringing in some German/Austrian flavors that I found in both the Steak Tartar and Veal Fries. In fact, the veal could probably be called a schnitzel. Can't wait to go back!

I sorely miss Atlanta, and H&F is one of the main reasons. I love cheeseburgers and have tried them everywhere. These are HANDS DOWN THE BEST BURGERS EVER! While I have never been to H&F during "auction"/limited burger days Monday-Saturday, I grab one at Sunday brunch (see other reviews; no need to compete for a burger on Sunday) every single time I'm in town. Sometimes I make excuses to go to town for this reason. :) Great Mimosas and signature cocktails. Last time we tried the Cinnamon Bun and Bacon-Caramel Popcorn, as well. They were predictably outstanding! Just a hint of bacon in the popcorn. Works VERY well with the other flavors. Even the small kids at our table loved every bite of every dish served. Always great service. Well-done modern decor --- even the ladies' room is beautiful with an interesting door and rustic/industrial look. Can get crowded, but who cares? Worth it and worth every penny.

Frankly not impressed. Very expensive and the dishes just don't justify the price tag. The $13 Becky cocktail was kinda watery and tasted just OK. The chicken breast was under seasoned and the choice of the components are weird: lotus root and okra? I'm at a bar and I'm not sure if they are bar food. The $12 sausage is a bit funny when the dish was served. It literally just one sausage with some Sauerkraut over it.... The only dish I enjoyed was the Wagyu Tartar, but it is for $15... Will not recommend.

Complimentary valet. It's a smaller place, that was busy on a Friday. We had reservations, but arrived a little early. They pointed us to the bar area, we grabbed drinks and the seamlessly moved us to our table. The food was very good. Pimento cheese was on point. Though the food was good, the true 5 star experience of this place was the staff. Our server, Korey, was wonderful. He knew the menu, was super personable and really made the experience 5 star.

I do not understand the hype surrounding this place. It has been a longstanding staple in the area. The atmosphere is nice for cocktail hour. Otherwise, their gastropub tapas style menu falls flat. The clay pot potatoes and onions was a huge disappointment, as the dish was rather flavorless. The shiitake broth was watery and was missing the usual earthy elements that mushrooms typically provide. The GA Royal Red Shrimp Toast was the saving grace of our dining experience. They cooked the shrimp perfectly, and the tomato, bacon and creole sauce had fantastic flavor. The Chicken Liver Pate was okay.

Great service, great food. We got there around 9 pm, without a reservation, and were told that it may be up to an hour and half wait;however, we were seated after only about 15 minutes. We started with some in-house cocktails, which were delicious. Please note: as stated on the restaurant website, and as most people familiar with H&F know, the famed burger is only available in limited quantities. Luckily, we asked about it as soon as we were seated and our server managed to snag the last one of the night for us. Apparently, the guy at the table across from us was not aware of the limited quantities and felt cheated, as he proceeded to gripe and wine about us getting the burger instead of him for the next hour. If you do show up after the burgers are all gone, relax. There are other, equally, if not more delicious, items on the menu. Other than the other customer, we loved our experience and can't wait to try H&F again.

Incredible restaurant! My family and I stumbled on this restaurant after being sorely disappointed at another restaurant. Food is incredible, staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. The chefs bring the food out themselves sometimes and you get to thank them personally. Also, I have celiac disease and the staff was able to accommodate my needs without inhibition. Fully recommend this place. 5 star food and service at an incredible price.

Really enjoyed my visit for lunch. The Benton box was great! Soup, salad, rice, chicken teriyaki, sushi and some fried vegetables with a friendly and attentive wait staff! Will definitely be back.

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant while on vacation in the area. We only had one night to go out to eat so we tried Holeman and Finch and we were extremely disappointed. The food was fine at best and the service really ruined the meal.

Excellent food, excellent drinks. I’d recommend getting the trout and adding grits to it. The dish feels like it needed something extra and the grits were a perfect compliment. They have a small wine list but I enjoyed the cab I had. They have a large variety of custom liquor drinks. So if your a bourbon or scotch nut, enjoy!

Creative and delicious food! Atmosphere was upscale but casual at the same time. Service was friendly, and food was well priced for the quality. Caesar salad with fried oysters was great and the cheeseburger is a nice rendition of a classic greasy spoon dish.

This place is legit! I had the roasted half chicken with pecans over a bed of grits...it was superb. The only thing I could say is that the parking is not all that good but it's Atlanta...there's not much to be done about that.

Absolutely terrible. Not worth it. You’d be better off going to McDonalds. First trip was not on a game day. The burger was not the caliber I expected or had become accustomed to. It was slightly cold and tasted more like a fast food burger. Paid $4 for a side of fries and got 15-20 soggy fries. Totally bummed. I swore I would not eat at H&F again. Particularly after I wrote them to explain the situation and got no response. Really hoping the first was a fluke, I gave H&F another shot today. Second trip was a very similar experience. The line was a lot faster than games I had been to in the past which was nice. The burger was better than the last visit but still not stellar. The few fries I got (again around 15) were terrible. They were not normal H&F fries, but some other ballpark fries. I got my food and realized I did not get my H&F ketchup. I asked the cashier for the ketchup and he replied ,”We don’t carry the H&F ketchup on game days. There is Heinz ketchup outside. “ Personally I will avoid H&F at all cost. Not only is the food subpar but their customer service is nonexistent.

Don’t waste your time. The ‘famous’ hamburgers aren’t worth the trip and the menu is a failed attempt at eclectic dining. Cocktails are really small, mediocre and not worth the price. If I could give them a negative, I would. Go elsewhere. Oh, I almost forgot, the waitress was rude and I’ll-informed, the prices are too high (and I WILL spend money for a good experience) and they prefer reservations except for in the small bar area.

You can start with the bartender giving me incorrect change because he couldn't be bothered with nickels, dimes or quarters. Order 1 beer, bill is $8.64. Handed him a $20. Gave me $11 in change with the "how dare you expect correct change sir" face. Next, Lamb Testicles & Pig Skin on the menu. At a stupid price nonetheless. This place is where you take a date to try and impress her. You both act like it's awesome. But truly you both hate the menu and its overprice booze selection and venture to way better bars on the 2nd & 3rd date. Don't buy into the hype. Can't say I didn't warn you

I love their $1 happy hour oysters from 5-7 pm during the week! The last time I was there I had 3 dozens just for myself. The bird and the bees cocktail is my favorite! I would go there just for that too! Everything we ordered on the menu was delicious. We we're lucky enough to grab a burger before it was sold out! Did not diassapoint. They bring out these complimentary rolls! Seconds please! It's a great place to just grab a drink after work and catch up with friends! I haven't been there on the weekend but it seems like a nice date night spot.

This well appointed restaurant has some great items on the menu. The interior is well designed, although there is one very odd "corner" seat shaped like a slice of pie off one corner. Should you sit there, be aware your in a traffic area for waitstaff and guests. The waitstaff are friendly, but inconsistent. The meal delivery and presentation is lovely, but again, a bit inconsistent. For example, many of the meals are "shared plates", however when delivered the staff didn't deliver any cutlery with it. Food can range from delicious to oversalted. Either way, the chefs in place are incredibly friendly, helpful and engaging! If you're looking for a place to get dinner - absolutely give Holeman and Finch a try.

A great restaurant in my opinion. The menu is creative and so are the drinks. The place is small, so sometimes you have to wait. Fortunately the bar provides a nice place to wait with unique and creative cocktails. The burgers are definitely good, but don't miss out on the homemade charcuterie. A particular fave is the shrimp and pork belly. Really good. You won't be disappointed.

Extremely rude hostesses. Sat us down at a small, uncomfortable 2 top in the corner. Asked for one of the several open 4 tops and was told that they are held for parties of 3 or more. They sat empty until our food arrived and 3 sets of two person parties were sat at the 4 top tables.

What a fun environment - I've been here for bunch and for the late night burger craving....amazing food, quality service, and a great place. This is the place to go for the best burger in Atlanta - simple, great flavors and mouth watering. I especially loved their Dark and Stormy - which is my drink of choice - dark spiced rum, ginger beer, but they kick it up on the flavor with some spices. Worth it!

Honestly, I didn't try the food here last time because we were late at night and all we wanted was a drink. But our drinks were all very impressive and awesome good!!!! The bartender was cool, professional, friendly, easygoing and, kind of cute. He made us to do a second round which we didn't planned but I am so glad we did. Mine was called 19 century, it's so so good!! Definitely come for food later and more drinks! The vibe here is perfect for a Friday night casual chat with your lovely friends!

Had a pretty good experience. Good food, but some portions are small for the price. Our party had the burger, which was very good, just can't give a burger cooked all the way through excellent marks. It's more like a great greasy spoon burger and not a fancy dry-aged, etc., etc. burger. The bone marrow was good, just a ridiculously small portion for $14…lots of bread, though. Cocktails and beers were great. Service was very good. Seating…not so good. We were at a table that looked out to where cars were being valeted. Also, a communal table next to us was super tight. I thought it was one party but it was all parties of two. It was also right on the driveway. Don't know what the other tables were like…I'm guessing better.
