This Restaurant is included in the category of Chinese restaurant.
I had a fabulous meal here with my family. The food was excellent, good options for vegetarians. The waitresses really took care of me and went above and beyond!
The House Special Chicken is great and the Hot and Sour soup is the best I have ever had. I have been going to Fortune Cookie for over 30 years and their food is consistently very good. They have had the same ownership in the 30+ years I have been going.
When the stereotype is mentioned that Asian men have no accountability t does not only apply to their men and Fortune Cookie on Briarcliff is no exception. As a customer of 20 + years, there was a time when I bragged that there was no better Chinese food in Atlanta.,, and at one time this was true. But, like many business owners, they grew old, stopped caring and their restaurant and the quality of what they offered to the public did as well. Delivery used to be spot on, they were always within 20 minutes of their promised delivery time. Now, if they tell you 45 minutes, you can expect delivery within 2 hours. When you call, forget an apology, the wife and the husband switch off with a purpose. If you have the patience to be put on hold for 10 to 15 minutes. their M;O. is to switch off. and the answer is always."so sorry, so sorry, I did not take your order", Of course you did not, and your food will arrive cold delivered by their son... So Sorry...
Love this place! Been coming here for over 22 years. Love the family who owns it! Good family time to gather over a great meal. Favorite comfort food!
Food is consistently good. I wish the owner would invest in new seating. The banquettes wore out in the 1990's and are so uncomfortable, you'll end up with slipped discs.
Best take out in the area. Always hot, fresh & delicious. My husband and I don't eat out much, but they always remember us!
Been coming for years. The best food and prices.
Our first time to Fortune Cookie and very impressed. We had a to-go order and waited longer than expected for our food, however the lady thanked us for our patience and gave us crab rangoons ( I hope I spelled it right) for free. We were not in a hurry, but were pleasantly surprised. Our dinner was delicious and we will be back.
We get take-out from this place at least 2-3 times each month. Tonite we dined-in and had a really great experience.... This is Chinese as good as it gets. We had excellent, attentive service and delicious food. This has been our go-to for Chinese for years. The owner always graciously greets us, even when very busy, as the restaurant often is. Go, you'll enjoy.
Fresh food, great taste and friendly staff they are also helpful and accommodating to your taste and choice of mild/spicy
I didnt see any trying to get out of the pot if you know whati mean. Oh ya but this place was in star wars the clone wars
Not great at all
Always consistently good service and great food.
Always good. Always fresh!!!!
I never even think about going anyplace else for Chinese food. House special green beans, twice cooked pork, pot stickers - my standard take out order. Portions are big enough for two with plenty of leftovers for lunch. Hostess always makes me smile - she's got an amazing memory and is always friendly.
Very bad service!!
The best hot and soup I've had in years! I actually saw spices in the broth and nibbled on fresh scallions! Those negative reviews are ridiculous! This is one of the best $8 lunches you can get. Appreciated being able to sit down. No hot buffet tables.
My go to for chinese take out! Very nice staff and the food is consistently good
We were sat immediately and the place looks super nice. A little sad they only have three drink choices for dine in. Our server took forever to come take a drink or food order. Food came out pretty quick but was super chewy. It honestly tasted off. Out of drinks at least 10 minutes before server even made an appearance. Waited on a check for close to 20 minutes with only one other table here. Where have all the servers gone? Probably forgot to feed those, too. Along with the fish.
Food is great but people are VERY rude!! I have often wanted to order from this place but due to the lack of customer service and rude attitudes from front desk lady and delivery guy... I decided NOT
Standard work lunch place. Same food and good service year after year
Small, quiet and inexpensive. The food was tasteless. It was clean.
Delicious
Packed during lunch. My favorite Chinese food in Atlanta
Not too expensive and the chicken actually looks and tastes like chicken.
Fortune Cookie has been my favourite Chinese restaurant anywhere for ages. The Hunan chicken is second to none!
The spicy chicken and string beans are incredible. Also the chicken egg drop soup is to die for! Best Chinese I've had around.
I'm being eating here many, many years always great food and wait staff are always professional!
Fantastic fook
They have a 81 score that scares me! #
Best Chinese in the area for sure. Their Tso's is good, same with Hot and Sour Soup, and their pork is also really good.
I would give this place six stars if I could. The food is fresh and fantastically prepared. The best seafood soup I’ve had in a long time.
Wonderful! Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Great service!!
Better than Panda Express but nothing special.
Great food. Great service.
Great restaurant. The food is always fresh and the service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is always clean and I apprecia that. I always do carry out so I can't speak on how the service is if you dine in.
Best Chinese I've had in the Druid Hills/Highlands / Emory area-- hands down. Prices are great for lunch but can run up a bit if one is to take one's family to have a multiple entrée meal. The male carry out promptly and are nice. Oh you can't get fried rice unless you go all in and order the $10 chicken/beef/pork/shrimp version. I recommend the cashew chicks and the sesame chicken and sweet and sour pork. Their Crab Rangoon are THE BEST BEST BEST EVER in my life but are more in the heavy side than the light airier crisped wanton shells other places may have... Love this place,
Great food, great price, friendly owner, large portions. It's been this way for the last 15 years I've been eating there.
Best Chinese food in the metro Atlanta!
Didn't receive egg rolls and wonton soup with my order, called and complained and was told the menu online was wrong. So $34 for two small entrees with no soup or eggroll? Rip off! Never order here again .
Fast service delicious food with nice atmosphere. Visiting from out of town but would come often if I were living here. Excellent
The staff is VERY friendly (our server was highly attentive) and the service is fast, but the food wasn’t good. We ordered General Tai’s chicken, shrimp fried rice, and shrimp lo mein. The rice was extremely bland. Would give two stars just based off the food, but the staff makes me add another star
20 + years coming here, never had a bad experience. Friendly staff and great food.
Pretty good food. Too bad MSG is in most meals even after requesting to have it removed.
OMG!!! First time there and will DEFINITELY be going back. Delicious hot food and fast friend service!!
OMG I loved this place!! So delicious. When I moved farther, I still made the trip back to eat here. I definitly recommend.
This is my FAVORITE Chinese restaurant in Atlanta. The food quality has remained excellent since 2001.
Great place for a date and to eat! The people there are so nice
I called last night at 9:45 after an extremely long day at work and even worse traffic craving some Chinese. Looked around and Fortune Cookie was the closest restaurant. Knowing they were closing down in 15 minutes and asking for a delivery, they were still kind and got the food over to us within 15 minutes. The food was great, definitely high in Chinese at a lower price than other Atlanta options. I recommend this to anyone.
It's the best place to get fast food and delivery is free you can't beat that.
Excellent food. Great buffet. Friendly and very clean.
The restaurant is full of fruit flies. The manager said they get them at night because the sweet and sour sauce attracts the nasty flies. She said it is okay to eat food where flies are crawling on the plate-----nasty! I am calling the health inspector.
Worst Chinese food I ever had! They didn't even have hot and sour soup, something every Chinese restaurant must have. The rice was lukewarm, kung pao chicken was so watery and tasteless! If you want mediocre take-out style chop suey, this is the place for you. Service was bad too, to go with the bad food.
Good food, reasonably priced, very popular dining venue for surrounding neighborhoods.
Excellent Food, Love the Service and Quality Every time I Step In.
Been Eating their for 14 years great every time. The staff is awesome and so is the food
Great food! Best around this area with a decent price.
Fresh, delicious, friendly Chinese lunch spot.
Food is very good.
Fantastic food and service! High quality food! Very fast service! Great at accommodating allergies! Friendly staff! Kept our waters full the whole meal! Get oranges and fortune cookies with all meals!
Very good service all the lunch specials are wonderful love the Sunday buffet
Good, cheap Chinese food. Can’t be beat. The garlic chicken is my favorite.
We had such a great experience here we had a special man waiting on us. A happy waiter what a blessing!
My favorite Chinese restaurant in the city
Best food in North Druid hills!
Was overlooked when a customer behind me entered the restaurant. Was told that I had to spend atleast $7 on my card. Felt discriminated against. This was my 1st and last time here. If my sister didn't request the soup I would have never came.
Food is ok. Not sure where they buy their rice but that's not the rice you use to make fried rice. Mongolian beef was mediocre. Ordered for delivery 9/10/17.
The dinner for two is totally worth it. The best Chinese restaurant in Atlanta.
the best in town!!! bar none! from NYC'S CHINATOWN to GRANT AVE in SFO, give me Atlanta's FORTUNE COOKIE! The BEST CHINESE around!!! I AM HOME!
I think almost every single dish here is sweet and unnecessarily so. Even noodle dishes tasted too sweet. They definitely put more focus on American customers' palates. Not my type of Chinese food (ate here 2 or 3 times over the years), and I'll definitely stay away, since I prefer more authentic places.
Best Chinese food around! Been eating here since the early 90's. Still never disappoints!
My husband ordered for me from this place as I was craving some spicy cashew chicken. He even specified to make it hot. But when it was delivered, it was oily and sweet. Not happy at all
The food and service are always wonderful! The wonton soup was especially good today.
The streamed dumplings are the best I've ever had and the House Special Beef is amazing.
awful chinese food ! we tried it 3 times too many!!!! spring rolls were burnt looked like they sat under a burner all day long, not even edible, and the all the food was awful , never go here
Very awful experience! Very unhappy with this place. I am local to North Druid Hills and will never go back to the Fortune Cookie. There are lots of great restaurants in the area to choose from, I do not recommend the Fortune Cookie
Food is alright. Nothing amazing. Very slow service. I'm pretty sure it's just one guy. But there are only two tables and the server is nowhere in sight. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a refill. Been sitting hear for a while waiting on check. Pretty sure gonna have to move in because hes not coming back
Food was okay but portion wise not good compared to other Chinese restaurants. Prices are standard. The bathroom was horrible. There was a dirty mop in the corner and smelled bad and dark.
Quick and easy delivery. Good food
It's not nyc, but it's great food. The service and staff were all very nice and the prices are great. I'll return.
Horrible, nasty food! This place needs to shut down. Workers are unprofessional and rude. Doesn’t even deserve a star.
Great service. Great food. They always have a score in the 80's
Fast and friendly staff
I ordered orange chicken togo and when i got home i saw some nasty vegetable fired rice which had no flavor and was dry, and a flat piece of breaded chicken with ORANGE SLICES ON TOP! Are they serious?! Not only was the presentation terrible, the food taste terrible! I was so mad! No worth the $10! So unacceptable!
First time eating at this restaurant we did take out tonight and just started eating. The first impression not good. I ordered won ton soup, sesame chicken with fried rice. The rice taste old like it was sitting in the pot for days it had a weird taste and sesame chicken pieces were huge like chicken tender sizes and dry sauce was at the bottom bowl nothing on the chicken. Spending $40 and not eating is not a good way to end the night.
Ok place for ZA Chinese foodz.
Great food and service. I've been coming here nearly 20 years and always dependable.
Food is incredible and service is just as good
I used to love coming here in college. Awesome General Tso's chicken. I haven't found another recipe as good, eight years and six apartments later.
Great lunch and dinner place
possibly the best Chinese I've had. friendly staff too. yum yum.
Food was terrible
Love this place. Some of the best Chinese food in the area if not the whole city. Their egg drop soup is some of the best I've ever had. My usual go to is the Happy Family but we've had many dishes and never been disappointed. Service is usually good but I have been there a few times when they didn't anticipate the number of diners and had trouble keeping up. However I have eaten there enough times to know that is the exception and wouldn't deduct any stars for it. We almost always dine in but have ordered takeout and it's just as good either way. Honestly we live closer to Golden Buddah but I was not impressed by that place at all so we always get our Chinese fix at Fortunate Cookie.
pretty good, standard Chinese fare
They were really at one time. Greeter is not friendly. Did not feel wanted as a patron.
Good food and quick service. Our go to take out place
Best Chinese restaurant I've been to.
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. The Hot and Sour soup was fantastic. I like this soup thick and with a ton of stuff in it. It was exactly how I like it. The spring rolls were über fresh. The fried rice had amazing taste and the sauce used on the beef and broccoli was really tasty. I forgot to mention that our server was very sweet and made us laugh a lot. I can't wait to tell my friends!
Will not eat there again. Found hair in my food...big hair
The food is really good and the staff is great.
I been coming here for over 15 years and it is still my favorites Chinese food for lunch or dinner. Consistent quality of food and service. The spicy chicken and string bean and chicken and cashews are still two of my top choices and the duck here is great. Finally tried the flaming platter check it out.
They don't sell any Mexican food
For many years I worked evenings and Fortune Cookie was my go-to place for take-out Chinese food to pick up on the way home. The portions are large, enough for two ordinary people, and I never got anything that wasn't excellent. The staff are friendly and take the time to know their regular customers. They will make small changes to preparation on request, e.g. "not too spicy." Now I'm retired, so I eat out less often, but I still go to Fortune Cookie when I want Chinese food. The staff still remember me, and the food is still excellent. Highly recommended!
I love this place the food is great, restaurant is fast when you are there and the waiters are nice. The lady in the front could be a little nicer, but my biggest grief is when I order take out I only live a mile away from the place and it always takes over an hour to get it.
Good quality, but takeout was much more expensive for food that was only marginally better than your run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout.
We balanced these two main courses with a refreshing cold bamboo in sesame oil appetizer. The subtle seasoning of the sesame oil was excellent. Fortune Cookie Restaurant is a solid Chinese restaurant in the City.
Fortune Cookie is the Chinese restaurant all others aspire to be. I miss it so much when I'm out of town!
Best mangolian beef
As I was eating, a water bug crawled onto my table. Obviously management covered my ticket. Unfortunately this will be my first, and last visit. Be sure to check their health score once you enter. Food was mediocre up until that point, nothing special. I ordered the Gen Tso's which w water, and rice came out to about 12$. You surely can find better food for that price...
Tasty food. And so much clean. Not usually crowded.
Some of the best chinese food i've ever had. didn't wait long and the portions are huge for the price. Fantastic.
Worst Chinese food ever. Seriously. Just don’t. Ordered... Wonton soup: nothing but noodles with no filling, in a tasteless broth. House fried rice: Could smell bad shrimp right when delivery driver handed me the bag, didn’t even risk eating, went straight in the trash. General Tso chicken: soggy, tasteless, just floating in grease. There were a few other dishes as well, but you get the point; it was all tasteless, greasy, garbage. I would seriously consider visiting a Panda Express in a mall before returning to eat at Fortune Cookie. None of this is too surprising to me though, because I’ve yet to find any good Chinese food in this city.
Good food, fair prices efficient service
I've eaten here before and the food taste great. I never had a complaint until I met the owner or supposedly owner. She was very rude, irate, looked me up and down like I was a piece of sh*t and you can tell she has issues with Black people as most asians do. They look down upon us in general. That was the worst experience I've ever had in a Chinese restaurant ever. I was almost forced to place hands on her but of course that's what she wanted me to do... instead I turned around quietly and promised to myself I will never go back to that sh*t hole ever again.
Always order take out from here and it never disappoints! Crab Rangoon is AMAZING!
Consistently great food and friendly service. I will continue to eat hear regularly!
Great ORANGE CHICKEN and Fried Rice! I have eaten here many times but just no taking the time to leave a review! Also just experienced the UBER EATS and the portions were bigger than I have ever had at lunch. The price was a little higher but I was able to save food for the next day! LOVE LOVE LOVE
Food was delicious!! Our meals came out quick and were fresh, piping hot!
Soggy and small egg rolls, stale lo mein, burnt crab Rangoons, overpriced, and over all a very disappointing experience which I will never try again.
This use to be a great Chinese food spot. Lately it's clear they are cutting cost by making potions smaller and not offering everything they use to with their meals. The quality of ingredients have become subpar. I no longer eat here or order take out.
I love their steamed potstickers!!
Low prices for premium cuisine
The food was good but the service was terrible!! They would not allow any substitutions whether you would pay extra and charged me full price for half the food when I didn't even get the rice that comes with the meal. They were very rude when we asked them about being charged full price. They offered no explanation and would not admit it was crazy to charge full price for only half the meal.
Just another Chinese restaurant with nothing creative or out of the box to offer. It's the same yucky stuff in everything but with a different name. The food was very salty too. Perhaps this was my last attempt to try Chinese food in the states.
One of my favorite locations for quality Chinese food. It was so fresh. The service was very friendly and attentive.
Nice restaurant!! Food is good and service is fast. Love their shrimp fried rice
This place has excellent service that's family-run, and the food is delicious. Best Chinese restaurant in Atlanta, hands down.
This is my go to Chinese Restaurant in ATL. I'm from Jersey and ran into a lady fro NY at a nail salon; she recommended! I've reslly enjoy the Wonton soup the broth is ddelish and NOT GREASY, the Pepper Steak is our go t ok dish. The Sunday buffet is cool just get there early
One time there is more than enough.
Excellant Happy Family dish
Ordered takeout. Kung pao chicken, wonton soup ,and egg rolls. It was ready in 10 min and the food was hot and fresh. The hostess was very nice and place was clean. They forgot to put a spoon for the soup. But other than that perfect service. No Complaints!
Typical Chinese restaurant
Eat in, its good. Not ever really enjoyed the takeout though.
Excellent locally owned Chinese restaurant. They have a wide variety of dishes and willing to customize any dish to suit your taste buds. I highly recommend their spring rolls, shredded chicken, sweet and sour chicken along with their house fried rice. The service is always top notch. I eat here at least once weekly sometimes more
I placed an order at 6:50 pm and waited until 8:30 pm. Why? Because they already took my money and I was starving. Worst service ever.
Not pnly is this a family rub busibess that offers delicious food, this is a business whp has stood the test of time,...awesone service, awesome. Came to satisy a caravibg and it is practicality empty! I have bever seen this place practically empty pn a Thursday night in over 26 years. The lady said, many, who support us, are affected by the shut down so they are not eating out. I have a visual on the catastrophic consequences of this historic shut down. This business, an exceptional business, Btw is hurting, too.
Loved the name so went in for some chow mein And egg roll. Food was really good fresh and hot perfect spice. Will definitely be going back. Also very clean and friendly.
Love the sesame chicken there!
The best chinese in Georgia! I live right next to Golden Buddha but I still drive here. Amazing fried rice, mu shu, kung pao ang general tso's.
The best Chinese food and excellent customer service
I was a little skeptical after reading reviews, as I don't care for sweet chinese food, but it smells so good in there, I was going to try it. However, I just picked up a very large Doordash order & when I asked for eating utensils to go along with the order, the owner said that since the customer did not request any with their order, & since I was likely delivering to a residence, she would not give me any. How very cheap & rude! Or maybe she thought that I was going to keep it for myself...smh..as if! Either way, simply rude, & I was sure to let the customer and Doordash know! They will never get my business! UPDATE: The customers that I delivered to, said that they had JUST moved in & needed utensils because they had not unpacked theirs. It sounded SO rediculous when I told them what happened at the restaurant that I don't know if they believed me or assumed that I had just forgotten to ask for utensils. She had a puzzling look on her face...just as I did in the restaurant.
Excellent!! Maybe the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to . Food is fresh, portions are generous, everything delicious.
Friendly, fast service in a relaxed atmosphere, offers standard Chinese cuisine with fresh, quality ingredients.
My favorite Chinese restaurant near home. I have enjoyed it for over 18 years. It has consistently good quality food. The best hot and sour soup.
I've been to just about every Chinese restaurant in the area and so far this is the best one. The only negative I can see is the price is a little bit more but my mom always said you get what you pay for
Food is maybe average. Nice location, good service.
Good food
I love this restaurant. When I need a quick Chinese fix, this is the place I go!
Food was cold at first. Price increased on buffet
Awesome says it all
I recommend the Sweet and Sour Chicken
Not great but not bad either. It satisfied my lunch Chinese food craving. The portions were very small
My very first time, clean environment and delicious meals
Always great service
Wontons and fried rice cold. Fried rice bland, had to request garlic. I was not impressed. I wont ever return. Lunch meals come with soup and all under $10
Food: love to get curry chicken and rice along with pot stickers (fried), my guilty pleasure. My daughter loves the fish tank. This is an after work spot so it's crowded from 5-7. The staff can be a bit more friendly even after coming there ordering the same thing for years I'm still a stranger. Who does that to a regular of 5 years?
Ok so I went there today. While I was getting money out of pocket to pay and she took a credit from this old white woman. Then she took my cash. However I was there first and the old white woman gave me s smug look. I will NEVER eat there again.
Your basic American Chinese. Nothing fancy or exciting. Decent lunch specials, normally served up pretty fast. Fair prices for the portion sizes.
